the beast in slay the princess is beautiful and terrible but a completely different kind of beautiful than the other princesses. shes barely clinging to her humanity, her shape twisted and deformed into gnashing teeth and fearsome eyes. eyes that reflect light back at you in the dark. youre barely able to keep her from slaughtering you. the air is hot and humid, like youre trapped in the jungle. your voice changed from the original demo. no longer the Obsessed, the hunter seeking out his prized quarry, the knifes edge gleaming the same sheen as if it were the barrel of a gun. but now, you are the prey, the Hunted little bird keeping his ears pricked and eyes open, ready to flee from the oppressive queen of the jungle from bearing down on you.
slay the princess continues to be good.

Attack On Titan: Babydaddy Headcanons
A/N: This is just me thinking about how many they'd have, the gender and how they would raise them, etc.
Levi
-This man is a girl dad in the sense he only had one child and its a daughter. -It was a conscious decision. Whilst he loves you and would never deny you the joy of a child if you wanted to be a mom, he's also a man that lives a life of danger. Even if he's humanity's soldier, he has enough emotional awareness to know there are times where you or your daughter will worry and he wants to keep the number of people worried about him as low as possible. -He's not overprotective because she's an Ackerman but if someone even thinks of laying a hand on his daughter he'd chop their fingers off before they even reach her scalp. -As soon as she's old enough to fight, Levi will train her just like Kenny taught him because he knows the world is that cruel. However, any titan she interacts with until she's actually old enough to be a soldier will be none except for Hange's test subjects so she can see the danger she might choose with her own eyes to make an informed decision. -A secret reason he also shows her Hange's test subjects is that he wants to provide her with an example how not to interact with titans in Hange.
Eren
-Was a girl dad until his final kid popped out as a boy. -Armin pointed out the funny coincidence of his family unit being inverse to his own childhood; considering Grisha used to be a boy dad until adopting Mikasa. -Low-key looked good whenever his daughters would do his hair. Sometimes you wonder if looking like Carla is why Eren looks good with the sloppy feminine hairstyles. -He doesn't loves his son any less though. If anything, the way his daughters act towards him reminds him of how Mikasa used to treat him so whenever his son feels smothered, he understands his son and has his back. -In this scenario, his titan form obviously doesn't come with the 13 year curse limitations so he's somewhat worse as Levi when it comes to harming his kids. Because Eren would just squash them like bugs in his titan form.
Zeke
-Only becomes a father because he got drunk with you, who he already felt conflicted about loving. So like Levi, he makes the conscious decision to keep it at that one kid. -I do think Zeke would have a boy though. -He would play baseball with his son every day and try to be the father Ksaver was to him. -Zeke's plans to euthanize the Subjects of Ymir morphs into a plan to mutate all Subjects of Ymir into the same condition as the Ackerman clan and destroy the titan ability itself which would leave him as the final inheritor of the Beast Titan (speaking of which I might someday make a post with all the alternatives to the Rumbling that Isayama couldn't think of when he wrote himself into a corner) -Because of his negative experience with education and indoctrination, Zeke actually is an advocate for unschooling to a certain extent. He will teach his kid to read, write and basics but he's not fond of certain subjects like history because its in their world just filled with propoganda that Zeke is tired of.
Reiner
-Was very insecure about becoming a dad considering his own was happily a deadbeat but once he started having kids he couldn't stop at one so he had 4 kids. -Has two boys and two girls. -Because he was raised by a single mom, he works extra hard to be a good husband and father not just for the sake of the kids or his love for them. No, its also out of his devotion to you and not wanting you to know the hardships his mother faced in the slightest. -The sort of father who proudly displays the artwork of his children around his Vice Chief office at the Marleyan governmental building. -Teaches his sons to be better men and not make the mistakes he did as he teaches his daughters not to allow men to use them for their bodies in the way his mother was used and discarded. The way he goes about their gender roles and preparing them for life can be quite feminist for the time period AOT is set in but due to his upbringing and knowing so many powerful women, it shaped him quite a bit.
Armin
-A boy and a girl -Armin really wanted a mini you so when your first was a boy, he tried again and got what he wanted. -Not that he doesn't loves his son though, and thinks he's way cuter then he ever was as a child, which he reasons is your genetic makeup's doing. -Touch his children and he will find a way to poison you. He's way more clever and sneaky when it comes to taking revenge compared to Levi and Eren. -Similar to Reiner, he eats up anything his kids make and finds the most horrible drawings of a cat to be the best amazing artwork ever.
Erwin
-Just like Levi, being part of the scouts made him restrict himself to one child. -However, unlike Levi, he has a harder time as your child tempts him into wanting more of them as he loves seeing the union of yours and his features. -It's a boy -Hange often teases you and Erwin that he and Historia's daughter might become an item as they grew up together as babes of the Scouts regiment. -Has a habit of dropping asleep right next to his son after he's come home after a long day of titan slaying and reports about it.

Never Again
DWC November 2024
Day 5: Captive/Skill
OC: Rashka Bloodrinker, Orc, Warsong Clan
@daily-writing-challenge
Artist/Source; and some mood music, if you're into that!
The recent 'scuffle' in the Highlands had put her hackles up – because if this seasoned soldier knew anything, it was that humans would always find another reason to fight... and there were more than enough old Orcs with the fires of enmity burning hot in their hearts, as well.
And she was one of them.
But she was no fool, either – she respected the Warchief... and the Council that had sprung up, in the place of one. Peace meant a future where no one that looked like her ever had to pick up an axe, and die before they ever got to live... but she was a realist – and an old one, in a world where not many Orcs ever got the chance to get old.
It was a simple fact - war never changes. Rashka still carried with her the fact that her entire childhood had been stolen by humans - a whole generation of Orcs had lost that time. Her parents had managed to keep her safe from the warlocks, and get through the portal... only to face war on one side, and soldiers on their own furious that children had been brought through the portal -refusing to allow them to stay.
Out of the fire, and into the frying pan.
She'd been forced to watch as a young girl, as her grandmother faded away under the cruel boot of human oppression; she'd had to watch, as her parents couldn't bring themselves to mourn, even, when the elderly woman had simply stopped moving one day. The life had gone out of all of the Orcs, as they drifted listlessly about their enclosures. Even now, at her advanced age, it made the war scout's blood boil – no child should have to see those things... the desecration of her culture, of her elders - of their fierce, and proud spirits. She had been young, in the beginning - understanding... without understanding.
But she had become a woman under the watchful eye of Lordaeron – a woman denied a life, a proper family, knowledge of her culture... no Om'gora – the list of what they had stolen from the Orcs went on. The humans hadn't just won, they had spent years grinding their former enemies into pale, pathetic imitations of “Orcs.”
So it was, when Thrall came, that she had been ready – even if it might have taken a bit longer for those more senior than her to be stirred... she was a young woman in her prime, then. A young woman hungry to take back from those soft, pink hands of her captors what they had stolen from her: life.
In the here and now, Rashka set aside the arrow shaft she'd been working on, satisfied that she could move on to fletching, next, and sighed to herself – she'd been stalking the wilds of Azeroth since she was a child, and the old Orc had learned that more than half the hunt was simply... lying in wait. So she would do what she had always done: prepare. There was plenty of work to be done in Dornogal and its hidden depths, as it stood – and those Arathi rats they'd found scrabbling underground? The ones that made her fingers twitch, and creep for her bow, or her axe... they would be a problem, one day, as well – their “sincerity” lost on her, though she could see how the fanatics had begun to endear themselves to many others.
Thankfully, it had been far too long since Arathi blood had painted her face – so when they looked up from their holy crystal one day, and turned their blades on their former allies? She would be ready – there, again, to defend the Horde from the kingdoms of man until battle finally saw fit to claim her.

Record of Ragnarok x Sanemi reader who Acts like the Sanemi from demon slayer. How would the gods and humans react to that reader who has a younger brother but he denies it? Before getting a scolding from Adam and Eve for being mean to their brother. Before learning the truth about why he acts toward his brother Genya. Till Reader finally decides to apologize to his brother.
-Eve couldn’t help but pout, poking at your back as you were sitting with her on the wrap around porch of your small Japanese style house, scolding you, “Why did you be so mean to him again- he’s your brother!!”
-You didn’t answer, looking down at the stones by your feet as Adam went to console Genya, your younger brother, who you lashed out at, treating him so cruelly, making him leave.
-You weren’t the nicest person out there, you were a serious warrior, working hard against the demons who came into Valhalla, holding one of the highest positions as a Hashira, and your brother was learning to become one as well.
-You were dismissive and cruel towards his efforts, wanting to drive him to quit, for your own reasons that you didn’t want anyone to know.
-However, when Adam and Eve came to become the parents of everyone in the Demon Slayer Corps, as you were all doing dangerous work, wanting to dote on you, they could see that there was something else between you and Genya.
-You scowled, not liking getting scolded, but just like your Lord Ubuyashiki, Eve was the one other person you couldn’t bring yourself to yell at. Adam was only sometimes you weren’t able to, but he was able to tell you were defensive, scared.
-There were other humans, like Kojiro and Raiden, whom you respected, and a few gods, like Hercules, Thor, and Hades, whom you spoke with often, getting along with them, and they had seen how harshly you had been treated Genya, even going as far to say that you didn’t have a brother, and many had scolded you, telling you that you were cruel, but you just smiled and ignored their harsh words, ignoring the pain in your heart.
-Eve sat back and sniffled softly, making you turn in horror that you had made your mother figure cry as she was fighting off tears and you quickly turned to try to calm her down, panicking lightly- you hated making women- especially Eve, cry.
-You didn’t hear Adam coming up behind you, along with Hades, Genya, and Kojiro, the four of them wanting answers from you, only to see you treating Eve so gently, trying to calm her down.
-She sniffled loudly, “Why are you so mean to him?” you sighed softly, shoulders sagging as you bit your lip softly, “So he doesn’t get hurt again!”
-Everyone froze at your words, before you explained that you had lost your whole family, except for Genya, after your mother was turned into a demon, who you killed yourself. You became a Demon Slayer to wipe out demons, so nobody else would lose their loved ones to demons, and when you learned Genya was training to become a slayer- you lashed out at him, treating him harshly so he would quit, so you wouldn’t lose him too.
-Eve was stunned by your words, as was everyone else before you heard a shift of something behind you and you turned, seeing those who had heard everything, including Genya who was staring in awe.
-Your reaction was rather cute as you immediately flushed and you charged at Genya, “Forget everything you just heard!!” Raiden laughed warmly as he pulled you up off of your brother who felt happy that you cared so much about him by being cruel to push him away, to make him hate you.
-Kojiro couldn’t help but grin, “What a nice big brother you are~” you flushed, lashing out, “SHUT UP!!” many roared with laughter, seeing how shy you were about being caught, your real emotions shining through.
-You were going to have to deal with this from here on out, much to your ‘joy’.

Until The End (Levi x Reader)- Chapter 7
[The Trial]
_____ A/N: Posted on Wattpad (@CLARE_875) but also decided to post here :)
Summary: "You can push me away, but I will still fight by you, and I will still follow you… until the end."
The ever-so-stoic Levi Ackerman has only ever known the terrors that living in a cruel world could bring. This all changed one fateful day when he encountered [y/n]; a girl renowned for her looks and abnormal speed. As they escape the confines of the Underground together, they soon discover that freedom doesn't come easy in a world full of Titans. As they rise through the ranks, [y/n] becomes known as "Humanity's Angel", a beacon of hope to humanity as she melts the walls Levi had built around his heart. However, she has her secrets too, and a dark past that might just threaten to pull them apart.
The storyline and characters of Attack on Titan do NOT belong to me, but all to Hajime Isayama; however, I do own this story, and all that occurs disparate to that storyline.
[Series Masterlist] [Chapter Six] <--> [Chapter Eight] _____
Warnings: Canonical Violence
You sigh, rubbing your eyes as you look at the endless pile of paper that continues to grow in front of you. It had been several days since the encounter with Eren Jaeger, and the unrest on whether to trust in him or not, whether to give him to the military or the Survey Corps, whether to kill him or let him live had been endless. Endless, like the paperwork that remained in front of you. You sigh; despite the dispute about Eren Jaeger, one truth stood as blatant as the moon that hung in the sky. We had lost many people when Wall Rose fell, and a part of being a Captain in the Survey Corps was to sign and mark the papers in front of you eternally.
You look up briefly, taking a sip of your tea, to see Levi at his desk working through the papers you both so despised. The moon shone from beyond the windows, mingling with the light of the candles. You admired the way the light danced on his pale skin and briefly flickered in the grey of his eyes. Despite the way you saw imprints of darkness hanging under his eyes, or how his face seemed more sunken under stress and exhaustion, he still looked beautiful. You quickly shake your head at that thought; what am I thinking? This is Levi. You quickly picked up your pen to continue the papers, trying to shake off the mingling thoughts in your head, but despite your constant denial, your heart had grown fond of the man in front of you.
The recent few years have taken a toll on you both. The Survey Corps was not an organisation you joined on a whim. You saw death almost daily, friends and comrades gone within seconds, making you question if they had been there at all. You had clung to each other in your grief but also in your trust. The trust that despite all our losses, we would still have each other to rely on, that we would find our way back to the other. However, over the years, mere friendship wouldn't be what you would want to call the relationship between you and Levi. You had found yourself yearning for more. Despite his cold exterior, you would notice the small things he would do for you. He brought you his cups of tea, shared his space with you as he did now, gave you smiles that lingered, worried for you, protected you, and kept you close. You quickly turn down your churning thoughts. Levi saw you as family; he saw you as someone he could trust and someone to rely on, and you would continue to deny the intrusive thoughts in your head for as long as that meant he would stay by your side. If only your heart would diminish the warmth that it always found in his proximity.
Levi looked up, noticing that your pen had yet again stopped its movements. You seemed deep in thought as he saw your eyes flicker in conflict, seeming to come to one resolution before frowning as your internal debate continued. After hearing you sigh for the umpteenth time and your movements faltering, Levi couldn't help but become annoyed at your debate, denying that it was worry he was feeling, seeing your usually-composed-self become so uncertain. "Oi," he snapped, making you jump at the sudden sound before realising it was just Levi. His eyes softened briefly, not meaning to snap so suddenly, and he sighed, mimicking the noise you had been making for the past few minutes. "You should take a break," he spoke softer than he had before. You felt warmth rush to your cheeks as you realised, he had been observing your internal turmoil.
Despite yourself, you gave him a soft smile, seeing his concern, "I'm fine, Levi. Besides, this is my last pile," you looked at him as he seemed ready to make a remark back at you, "It's you that should be taking a break anyway, Eren's trial is tomorrow." Levi rolled his eyes at that. "I can handle lack of sleep," he said, and it was true. Despite having issues sleeping yourself, you slept much better than the man in front of you. "You, on the other hand, can't." He got up walking over to the couch that stood in front of his desk, the one you had been working on. As Captains, you had the privilege of having your own rooms. However, Levi would often let you sit with him, and he would never admit it, but your presence made the endless paperwork almost enjoyable to him.
Despite your continuous denial whilst Levi tried to snatch your paperwork from you, it was past midnight, and your speed had diminished with the sun. You were exhausted, and Levi had taken that opportunity to take your paperwork and tell you to go to bed. You pouted slightly at his remark, you didn't know why but the evening sky made you feel more vulnerable and Levi was used to you acting more childishly during the evening hours as your more collected self vanished in the night. You let out a deep breath and decided you were too tired to argue with him right now and let him have a win this time.
"Fine," you muttered, "you win this time, but next time," you looked to Levi as he looked at you, slightly amused. "Next time, I'm doing your paperwork too," you finished while Levi rolled his eyes again, telling you to go to bed. You didn't know what came over you the next few seconds, but between your raging thoughts, your exhaustion, your grief and paperwork, you found yourself reaching out absent-mindedly and moving a strand of Levi's raven hair out of his face. "Don't work too hard," you whispered, knowing already of the plan you had discussed with Levi and Erwin that would take place the following day.
Levi felt himself freeze at your affection. He had been used to brief touches and concerned words, but the way your eyes were full of worry just for him made him stop at the sight. A familiar feeling rose in the depths of his chest despite him still dismissing that in his thoughts. He quickly composed himself, not that you noticed his break of character as you felt your exhaustion slowly consuming your thoughts. "If you don't hurry and go to bed, you're gonna look real shitty tomorrow," Levi said, causing you to roll your own eyes. "I'm going, I'm going," you muttered before turning around and quickly going out his door, leaving Levi with your paperwork and a soft smile on his face.
.....
The sun had risen fully, light seeping in through the windows of the courtroom as you found yourself by Levi's side, who stood in between you and Erwin. Despite him allowing you to go to sleep earlier as he had taken care of your papers, you had dreamt yet again of the woman on the boat, and of the green expanse of terrain you now knew had to be what you encountered every time you left the walls. It had been years, and you had searched for answers, but it was hard seeing the lack of access you had to answers from the past. The only person who knew of your dreams was Levi. He had known since you were young, but he had always patted you on the head and told you not to worry, that it was just a "shitty dream", and that you would likely find answers when you least expected them. I sure hope so, you think to yourself as you stifled a yawn; you could never really go back to sleep after those dreams.
You suddenly looked over as the door burst open and saw briefly that Hange and Miche were the ones who had let Eren into the room, his eyes seeming to adjust to the bright lights of the courtroom. You could hear Hange say something to Eren before slamming the doors shut, and a brief, tense silence took over. Two men then forced him forward before telling him to kneel as one man locked Eren's chained hands under a metal bar. Mutterings started to rise throughout the courtroom, but you looked straight ahead despite the palpable suspense. You hear the creak of a door and the shuffle of seats as Commander-in-Chief Darius Zackly enters the forefront of the room.
"Well then, let us begin." He pauses while looking at a piece of paper in his grasp, "Eren Jaeger, yes?" Darius Zackly looks over his glasses as he stares at the emerald-eyed boy in front of him. "You are a soldier, sworn to sacrifice your life for the public good. Is that correct?" Eren looks up and answers slowly, "Yes, sir." He then continues to explain why Eren is here: "The final decision rests entirely in my hands. Your fate will be decided here." As you expected, concealing Eren's existence is no longer possible, and the trial today would be one that decided which force would hold custody over him. The military police or the Survey Corps.
Nile Dawk, the Commander of the Military Police, is then called forward to provide their proposal. The proposal that Eren should be eliminated immediately. That in favour of preventing a spark of civil war, Eren die for humanity's sake after leaving behind all the information he can provide. "There is no need for that!" the shout of Priest Nick, a Wallist, part of a religious faction believing the walls to be holy, starts to berate the idea, claiming he should die on the spot for deceiving the walls. Despite them not having influence much in our society, the past five years have given them power, what with the abandonment of Wall Maria. Order is called before the Survey Corps is called to provide their proposal.
Erwin then speaks, "I, 13th Commander of the Survey Corps, Erwin Smith, will present my proposal." He then turns his head to Eren, continuing, "We would welcome Eren as an official member of our forces and use his power to retake Wall Maria." He then looks forward, "That is all." Silence takes over. Straight to the point, as usual. Despite Darius questioning his brief proposal, Erwin keeps to the proposal he has given. Darius then continues to ask where the mission will take place, asking Pixis if the wall to Trost has been sealed completely, to which he replies affirmatively. "We would like to set out from Karanes, in the east. From there, we will proceed to Shiganshina. We will determine the route as we go." Erwin speaks up as the crowd looks at him.
"Wait a minute!" One of the merchants next to Priest Nick starts to shout, claiming that we should seal all the wall gates once and for all as the colossal Titan only destroys the gates. This causes an argument that takes over the courtroom between the merchant and members of the Survey Corps. His delusion that sealing the gates would protect everyone when he is truly trying to protect himself and his money starts to seep its way through his words, giving you a headache from the merchant's ignorance. "You talk a lot, pig," you glance slightly to your side and see that Levi was the one who had spoken. People quiet down and stare, surprised to see the usually silent Humanity's Strongest Soldier speak up. "Where is your proof that the Titans will wait while we seal the gate? The "we" that you wish to protect are your "friends" who help line your pockets. The people who starve because there isn't enough land to sow don't even figure into the thoughts of you pigs."
The merchant stops at Levi's words but continues with his argument, when Priest Nick joins in, calling the merchant a traitor for wishing to alter the walls. The two continue into the argument, shouting their ideologies despite the otherwise silence of the room, voices bouncing off the echoing walls, until finally, Darius asks for silence. He then looks to Eren as he wishes to confirm something, "Can you continue to serve as a soldier using your Titan powers to benefit humanity?" Eren looks up with a determined stare, "yes, I can!" Despite his answer, Darius looks to a report from the defence saying that, "immediately after turning into a Titan, he swung his fist at Mikasa Ackerman." Eren's eyes turn sharply to Mikasa as you look at the raven-haired girl who answers when she is called.
"Is it true that, as a Titan, Eren Jaeger attacked you?" A brief silence takes over before she finally replies, albeit hesitantly, "Yes, it's true." You look at Eren's horrified face, confirming your suspicions that he had not been aware that he had lost control. Murmurs of distress started to arise again before Mikasa continued, "But on two previous occasions, Eren saved my life in his Titan form." Despite her argument, Nile Dawk speaks of Mikasa's bias as she was taken in by the Jaeger family at a young age. "Our investigation has also revealed a surprising fact about the underlying events. At age nine, Eren Jaeger and Mikasa Ackerman killed three robbers who tried to kidnap her." He then asks whether there is a right to trust humanity's fate, resources and lives with Eren.
Murmuring starts to turn into shouts of disagreement as the courtroom starts to get out of control again. Now, people started to target not only Eren but also Mikasa, accusations ringing through the room and growing as Eren tried to rebut their shouts. The tension starts to rise with the noise as Mikasa and Eren's names are thrown across the room before you see Eren's wide gaze snap. "No!" Eren lurches forward with his scream as his chains rattle against the weight of metal. Silence takes over as people now look at him with fear written across their eyes. "I mean, you're wrong... You're simply coming up with theories that fit whatever suits you to think," Eren's voice slightly shakes as he looks to the floor in front of him. "Besides, none of you," Eren then looks to the Military Police, "None of you... you've never even seen a Titan! What are you so afraid of?" You see Eren's face grow angry as you notice his eyes shine with vengeance, along with Levi's swift absence beside you.
"What is the point if those with the means and power do not fight?" If you're afraid to fight for survival, then help me. You... cowards!" Voices started to rise swiftly in the room at Eren's words before he started to yank against his chains again at all the noise. "Just shut up and bet everything you have on me!" Silence is met by tension as the Military police aim their weapons at Eren's seeming lack of control, but it is unnecessary as you see the end of Levi's harsh kick against Eren's face, a tooth falling out of his mouth. Clangs of metal against metal and the sound of Eren's body being pulled and kicked and punched move across the room. You look to Levi as his grey eyes spark dangerously, but he continues despite the silent looks of distress in the room and Mikasa's deadly form held back somehow by Armin.
Blood now seeps onto Eren's clothes as Levi holds him under his boot. "This is a personal opinion. But I believe pain to be the best way to train someone." Levi's stare is sharp, "what you need is to be trained like a dog, not a man." A shiver runs down your spine despite knowing of the plan, silently thankful for Levi's harsh words never to have been directed at you. "It's easier to kick you while you're kneeling, too." You can't help but inwardly grimace at his violence, though you keep on a neutral face as he continues to kick Eren's already beaten form. Even in the Underground, you had never seen his movements so merciless, at least to anyone but the Titans. "Wait, Levi," Levi turns to Nile, "what is it," he says, expression bored and foot still in Eren's face. "That's dangerous; what if he gets angry and turns into a Titan?" he continues to kick Eren as he replies, "What are you saying?" Bringing Eren's face up to his eye level by his hair, he continues, "Aren't you going to dissect him?"
"When he turned into a Titan last time, he killed twenty other Titans before collapsing. If he is an enemy, his intelligence makes him a more formidable foe. Still no match for me, of course. But what will you do? Anyone persecuting him should also consider that fact." The quiet in the room continues with those around the courtroom now with unsettling emotions on their faces at Levi's blunt words. "Do you really think you can kill him?" Erwin then raises his hand, "Sir, I have a proposal." Darius then looks to Erwin, "The details of Eren's Titan power remain uncertain, making it dangerous. Thus, I propose to have Captain Levi take responsibility for Eren's control, and with Captain [y/n] and their squad, embark on an expedition outside the walls." He continues, "Based on the expedition's results, I'd like you to judge whether Eren can control his Titan power."
Darius looks briefly at Erwin and you before turning to Levi, "Control Eren? Can you do it, Levi?" Levi, still looking at Eren, replies, "I'm certain I can kill him; the problem is I doubt I can do any less." Darius then closes his eyes, seeming to have come to a decision.
.....
You sighed; you were with Hange as they tried to get Eren cleaned up amongst their continuous fawning over the poor boy. "Are you alright, Eren? Does it hurt?" You ask as Hange dabs at a cut across his face. Eren looks up, his eyes wide with awe and cheeks turning slightly pink. "Just a bit," he says before his eyes wander behind you and suddenly stiffens, eyes finding the floor. You meet his line of sight to see that Levi leant against the wall, projecting a sudden dangerous aura. You sighed, giving Levi a pointed stare, to which he looked to the side, pretending to ignore you. You roll your eyes before sitting next to Eren on the couch.
"I'm sorry about all that," you say and give Eren a kind smile. He looked up slightly though still rigid, "but the pain you endured was all for our plan." Erwin nodded as he agreed, "Yes, you allowed me to play my cards at the right moment," walking to Eren, he leaned down and reached out a hand, "You have my respect. Eren, I look forward to working with you." Eren looks up with brief surprise before shaking his hand. "Yes, sir, thank you."
You hear footsteps and look up to see that Levi has started walking towards you, sitting in the space between you and Eren. He put a leg over the other and forcibly put one hand on the back of the couch behind Eren. "Hey, Eren..." You notice the boy's eyes flicker subtly between you and Levi before meeting Levi's deadpan stare. "Yes, sir," he replied hastily, "do you resent me?" Eren's form moves rigidly with nerves as he replies, "N-no," he then seems to relax a bit and looks to the ground in front of him, "I understand why it was necessary." Levi leans back on the couch, "that's good."
You think back at the interaction at the trial and huff slightly, "You still took it a bit far, I mean didn't you lose a tooth Eren?" Before he could reply, Hange had started shuffling around before bringing out a handkerchief with a tooth. "Yeah, it's right here," they say nonchalantly as you feel yourself sweatdrop. "Don't pick that up... it's creepy," Levi says with a disturbed look on his face, but Hange doesn't seem the least bit concerned. "Even this is an important sample." Levi looks to Eren and the injuries that now adorn his face, "That's still better than getting dissected by people like Hange, right?" Eren looks at the tooth, slight emotion betraying his eyes, "I'm not like them..." you hear Hange say, and you laugh slightly. "Hey, Eren. Let me see inside your mouth," the boy, seemingly increasingly uncomfortable at their proximity, surprisingly does what Hange says.
Hange then lets out a noise of surprise, and we all turn to see that they are still looking into Eren's mouth, "the tooth... it's already grown back."

Every once in a while, there is some comment that suggests Elain and Lucien's mating bond is off or fake. I actually argue quite the opposite, and I think Lucien is intuitively attuned to Elain's emotions, and their bond is the strongest between the three sisters. I also think that when Elain is not doing well, Lucien starts showing up more.
This makes his appearance during ACOSF solstice even more interesting to me, given that he was absent for ACOSAF's solstice, both of them declaring that they can't stand to be around each other.
Feysand's bond is mental, Nessian's bond is physical, and Elucien's bond is emotional. I also think this manifests in how each of the sisters pushed away from their mate: Feyre thinking she should still be with Tamlin, Nesta randomly hooking up with random males. I also think it's how their mate helped their respective partner heal. Feyre and Nesta are similar in that both don't want to be weak or helpless anymore, but the end of their healing was marked differently. Feyre's was marked when she secured the Ouroboros with a message that suggests the mental power needed with a statement like "Only you can decide what breaks you," and Nesta's was marked by the Blood Rite.
We can go through the end of ACOMAF and the parts in ACOWAR where Lucien has been the only one advocating for Elain and just knowing what she needs while giving enough distance to prevent overwhelming her.
The part that sticks out to me was when Lucien decided to find Vassa, and he specifically said that "I’m not needed here. I’ll fight if you need me to." They were left alone for the first time, Elain wanted to stop him but she didn't, and he left to fulfill her prophecy.
The next scenes we had Elain enjoying herself to make bread (an act associated with accepting the bond, just saying), Elain speaking up to use her to convince Graysen to do something for the humans, we find out that Lucien is the heir to the Day Court (fulfilling Elain's need for sunshine), Elain's “His name is Lucien."
When was the next time we saw Lucien and Elain together? After Hybern had been defeated, and he came running to her, spying the blood on her hands and asking if she was okay, then offering his condolences and then his praise. I also have to remind y'all that Azriel saw her first and said nothing when she forced Truth-Teller back to him. In his bonus chapter, he didn't have a thought in regards to this either.
In ACOSAF, people also ignore that Lucien tried to be there for Elain, and she was "too polite" to turn him away until he got the hint and left. What stood out to me, though, was during the Solstice, it was Lucien who told Elain not to be troubled because he wouldn't be staying for long, and it was Lucien who turned down Feyre's invitation to both stay for the festivities and stay in Velaris for two weeks to "get to know Elain" before announcing that he would be moving in with Jurian and Vassa. Elain was in a pretty good place at this point in time.
However, in ACOSF, we get this little nugget:
But Elain said, “I went into the Cauldron, too, you know. And it captured me. And yet somehow all you think of is what my trauma did to you.”
On top of that, Elain and Nesta became estranged, Azriel pulling back his interactions with her, her being denied to search for the trove or being prevented from doing more than just tending to her little garden.
Is it a coincidence that Elain insisted on attending the Hewn City Solstice, knowing that its cruelty bothered her, was described as wearing pearl barrettes, and then the following day, Lucien was at the Inner Circle solstice, seemingly recanting his stance of not being able to stand to be around her for two minutes and his present of pearl earrings.
I don't think it's meant to be cruel on his behalf, considering he tried to hide his disappointment from her reaction upon receiving his present, but I do wonder if it's meant to be a statement that he sees what she's trying to do and trying to be as supportive as he could while still allowing her to dictate how their interactions would go.
Some people demand two extremities: either he is around too much or he doesn't care enough to try, but they fail to see how perfectly middle-ground Lucien is being. He is still accessible for her while allowing her to choose if she wants to interact with him.
ACOSAF Solstice = Elain happy and excited over cooking for everyone = Lucien saying he is not staying.
ACOSF Solstice = Elain pushing back on attending Hewn City, a place that brings her discomfort = Lucien staying for that Solstice.
Elain and Lucien are both capable of voicing out when things bother them, especially towards each other, as seen in ACOSAF, but I don't think if Lucien knew he was not wanted by her in ACOSAF solstice, he wouldn't have attended ACOSF solstice. He also would not have attended the Starfall in the later months, especially if there had been secret progress between her and Azriel.
Rhys came to Feyre's aid when she called for help mentally as she walked down the aisle, Cassian came to Nesta's aid when she was physically at her weakest, so it makes me wonder if Elain is approaching an emotional tipping point where she can't keep pretending that everything is fine when she sees both her sisters successfully moved on from their trauma because of help from their mates, Nesta especially.
We also have to acknowledge that the scent of their bond is strong a year later. I wonder if this manifested with Cassian asking Lucien where Elain was when he visited their training and Nesta calling Elain a wrench for staying far away from him as confirmation they too smell it. I would go so far as to wonder if that's why Rhys specifically brought up that Lucien has a right to the blood duel to Azriel because he smelled their bond. The only person that smell mattered to is Azriel.
So yeah, all in all, if SJM wanted to continue the train that Elain would reject the bond, she would have made other choices in ACOSF, starting with Vassa's development, Cassian's observations that Lucien is adamant about not being in Velaris, Elain trying to get closer to Azriel, Nesta flat out saying that it was Elain that Azriel was pining over by the fire, and it would have continued after Solstice where Azriel and Elain nearly kissed.
Instead, SJM chose to make their only interaction with that Lucien still looks at Elain with longing and Elain's bravado disappearing when he did.

Please tell me the fic you just posted (the erurihan love triangle) HAS A SECOND PART!!! Please pleasee you can’t just leave us like that, can youuu? 🥺🥺🥺
Once upon a time, when he was still naive and inexeperienced, Levi believed that expeditions beyond the Walls are the worst thing that can happen to a Scout. Dangerous, always accompanied by blood and gore, oftentimes ending in a tragedy, they are indeed quite unpleasant occasions.
But they don't even come close to a hell that's also commonly known as military balls.
Everything about them irritates Levi - the polished floors, the abundance of candles and portraits hanging on practically every available surface - a testament of unimaginable amounts of wealth spent in total vain, the guests - so full of themselves, so arrogant and condescending, and the way they laugh too loudly and too frequently after jokes that really aren't that funny, even his own suit that hugs him just a bit too tight, seizing the freedom of movements that uniforms provide, and his hair that is slicked back for the occasion, and, Levi's sure, makes him look like a complete idiot, or worse - like one of these too rich for their own good assholes. Even the wine here is awful, too dry and sour, not a match to ale that is served in his favorite tavern.
And Erwin, Erwin irritates him too. Not just because he has dragged Levi out here in the first place, but also, also because he has Hange, hanging off his arm for the whole damned evening.
They look good together, Levi notes bitterly. Both beautiful and charming and insanely smart, they look– like they belong together.
And sometimes– sometimes Levi wishes he could hate them both for that.
He wishes he could hate Hange - for being so oblivious, for stubbornly continuing to remain so even after his half-confession. She doesn't love him, she never will, not in a way Levi wants her to, and isn't that– isn't that a sufficient enough reason to despise her?
But Levi can't, knows too well that he could never. Those feelings, that infatuation he naively believed to be just that, no more a minor misjudgement from his youth, do not disappear, do not fade with time, do not even lessen.
Quite on the contrary.
As he grows older, these feelings continue to grow too, becoming stronger, starting to run that much deeper.
But just as his feelings do not change, so don't Hange's. She may - and always will - have his heart, but Erwin is the one who will always have hers.
And although Levi can't hate Erwin no more than he can't hate Hange, Erwin's seemingly complete disregard for her feelings not only perplexes Levi, but annoys him too.
How can Erwin be so careless? How can he be so cruel? How can he resist the temptation, how can he deny the love Levi knows he has for her?
Why is he a stronger man than humanity's strongest soldier?
For Levi knows, holds no illusions, that had he been as blessed as Erwin, had Hange decided to give all of her heart to him, he wouldn't have hesitated to take it. He would have never let her go, he'd fight and bleed and hurt - just for a chance of a future with her.
But, maybe... maybe, that's precisely why Erwin doesn't dare to act on his feelings. Maybe, that's why he keeps his heart as it is - cold and closed-off.
Maybe, that's why, in the end, he's the wisest of them all.
He knows the price of falling in love, and deems it to be too high to pay.
And, maybe, that's why Hange loves him so. Because Erwin is a better man– he chooses all of humanity and not a single person.
Levi wishes he could be that selfless. Or, at least, that wise.
But he's not like Erwin and Hange, he's not a brilliant strategist or a genius scientist, he's just a man, who's very good at fighting.
He's nothing special, no matter what title was bestowed upon him, and no matter what common folk and nobles alike think of him.
Out of the corner of his eyes, Levi notices a girl, one of his acquired admirers, no doubt, who starts to approach him, so, naturally, he takes the only sensible decision available and darts in another direction, desperately searching for someone he can pretend to be in an important conversation with.
Such a person is found surprisingly easily, and what's even more surprising - out of all people, it is Erwin. Sometime during the evening he has lost their Hange, and now stands alone, watching the festivities unravel from the corner of the ballroom.
As Levi walks closer to him, Erwin turns towards him with a smile that’s just a bit too soft, just a bit too gentle. Levi hasn't seen him put on that smile ever since Erwin took upon himself the role of a Commander.
"Levi? Decided to hide behind your Commander's back?"
Levi huffs and leans against the wall next to him. "Yours is wide enough."
At that, Erwin chuckles and hands him a glass of wine. Levi accepts it in hopes that with a friend, the awful wine would taste a little better.
He takes a sip of it, his mouth twisting - it definitely does not taste better, and looks around the room.
From this new vantage point, he can finally see Hange - she's in the middle of a dance floor, twirling around with some nobleman's second or third son. No one more important would dare to approach her, after all. Her reputation is just as widespread as Levi's.
The guy she's dancing with is young, Levi realizes belatedly, looks just fresh out of adolescence. But he's not that hard on the eyes, not at all, especially with that full of wonder smile that he stares at Hange with. And his dancing skills are above average, definitely good enough for someone whose only purposes in life are dancing and talking about some nonsense with an arrogant enough expression on his handsome face. But– as good as the guy undoubtedly is, he's not a match to Hange. Hange, who carries herself so confidently, whose smile is so charming and whose every step is controlled and precise. She moves around the dance floor effortlessly, so gracefully like she's been doing exactly that her whole life too.
Watching her, Levi realizes, not for the first time that she's–
"Beautiful, isn't she?" Erwin murmurs, taking note of who Levi stares at so instantly.
Levi takes his eyes off Hange instantly, looking up to meet Erwin's amused, but still disturbingly soft gaze.
"Four-eyes?" he draws out, forcing his voice to sound nonchalant. "Beautiful? Not like that."
The Hange that Levi sees now is so different from the one he used to, the one he knows and loves, that she's practically unrecognizable. The Hange that Levi knows oftentimes looks exhausted, is nearly always dressed in dirty clothes, with cheeks too pale and thin, but with a wide, genuine smile on her lips and her eyes burning. The Hange that he knows is not suave or polite, she's loud, often rude, but always sincere, always real.
And Hange that he sees now clearly isn't.
"Never thought that out of us three, you'd be the most romantic one, Levi," Erwin muses, and, before Levi can protest, adds, "Did you know that Hange suffers from nightmares?"
Levi's eyes widen, his brows furrow at such an unexpected twist in a conversation, but he gives Erwin a nod nevertheless.
Does he know about Hange's nightmares? Of course, he does, how can he not, when he's the one who usually calms her down? After all, it's precisely why they fall asleep in each other's beds more often than not - when Hange isn't tormented by horrors from their everyday life, usually he is.
It is a perfect remedy, at least, for Levi. He found out fairly quickly that all fear vanishes, when he has Hange wrapped around him.
"I didn't," Erwin confesses, his eyes darting to Hange, as if he can't resist it. "I wouldn't have known, if Nanaba didn't mention it to me."
"And?" Levi prompts, perhaps a bit more rudely than he intended. The damn ball is to blame, he supposes. The wine is shitty, the people here are even more so, and Erwin's riddles just force him even closer to the edge.
"Hange didn't tell me about it. She did, however, tell you."
"She probably didn't want to bother you. Or, she–"
"-doesn't trust me," Erwin finishes for him. "Not nearly as much as she trusts you."
Levi swallows down a curse, then gulps a mouthful of the shitty wine. "If that's your attempt at making me feel better, Erwin, then you–"
"Hush," Erwin cuts him off with another gentle smile. He puts a hand on Levi's shoulder and leans, whispering in his ear. "Let's have a little experiment of our own. Hange is not the only one who can do that, right?"
Levi rolls his eyes, but accepts his fate and doesn't push Erwin away. "And?" he asks boredly. "What is the point of that experiment?"
"Experiments are meant to prove something, no? And, recently, I read somewhere that you can deduce when someone has feelings for another person. It's fairly easy, but, I admit, I've never thought about it. The gist of it is this - when someone is in love, their eyes instinctively search for that person first."
Levi hates himself just a little bit at that moment. Not just for not pushing Erwin away and refusing to stroke his ego one more time, but also– for that slimmer of hope that makes its way inside him, and stubbornly refuses to be banished.
What's he hoping for anyway? Doesn't he know how this will go? Doesn't he know who Hange loves already? Doesn't he know that it's not - and will never be - him?
But, perhaps, he's more of a masochist than he ever thought himself to be, because he doesn't push Erwin away, he doesn't escape the room altogether, he stands and waits for the outcome that he has guessed already.
Hange finishes her dance, bows and smiles, then she turns around, finds them in a crowd, but– it’s not Erwin that her eyes dart to immediately.
It's Levi, who she looks at first. It's Levi's name that slips out of her lips.
It's Levi that she hurries to get closer to.
It's stupid, he thinks in that moment, Erwin's stupid and his theory and experiment are even more so, but– his heart still starts to beat that much faster, the warmth still spreads throughout his chest, the damned butterflies still begin to flutter their wings in his stomach, and-
And when Hange reaches out and wraps her hands around his, dragging him to the dance floor with a giddy smile, he still allows her to do so. He still smiles as he follows after her.
Erwin and his experiment are still unbelievably stupid, but– for just one night, one night that started horrible and ended so spectacularly - Levi allows himself to pretend otherwise.

Like father like son
This is a tiny tiny analysis and comparison(?) between Toji and Megumi
================================
If I read the story correctly, "Tsumiki" was actually dead when she was hit by the curse energy and fell in a coma. For so long, despite in a coma, she was a integral part to Megumi.
Before she got out of coma, all Megumi could think of how to get her out of this mess and keep her safe.
When it all unfolded, Sukuna took over his body, and killed "Tsumiki" with "Megumi"s hands, Megumi just sunk to the bottom and gave up.
Megumi is pretty much a copy of Toji. He had his looks, his attitude, his confidence, his cool. I thunk it's quite safe to say this pair of father and son work the same way in lots of areas. But Megumi grew up in a much better environment, so Megumi can social and build up relationship with people. He has the ability to and, knows how and what to care about.
Tsumiki was Megumi's entire family. So when "Megumi killed Tsumiki", he gave up fighting.
Now, let's think about Toji. He grew up in a way worse environment. It was so bad that he got a scar ob his lips. It was so bad because the impact must had gone for his head. Toji basically grew up in hell.
He was laid back and cocky and mean and all that, as a response to the world that only ever gave him scars.
Despite him having the power above level 1 but below special grade jujutsushi, I think he has a strong feeling of helplessness in him that stems from being denied on an existing level. It's because he lacks the curse that Zenin anf the entire jujutsu world is about.
He did his struggle and put up his fight. I think he did find all he needs from Megumom. That's why he had Megumi with her. We all know, as a fact, there are so many ways that people can prevent having a baby. Judging from Toji's character setting: the strongest physique that human body can possibly achieve without curse bouns, plus a certain level of curse resistance, I dare say this guy is a proper breeder. As in, if he wants, with his physical abiliy and bad boy charm, he can be a breeding power house. Except, he only had Megumi.
I also think he has quite some self hate.
So imagine, after years of denial and refusal and all sorts, finally he found someone. He was lucky that the person loved him back and wanted to make a family with him. Only for her to die in front of his eyes. Seeing how protective Megumi was towards Tsumiki, Toji was only going to be even more so. But cruel fate slapped right in his face by rendering Toji completely helpless in Megumom's death. There wasn't even a killer. Toji could do nothing about it.
Look at the baby she left him: a carbon copy of himself.
Imagine the pain. I can't get myself to blame him for giving up on life. He lived because he was far from casually killing himself. He would live just out of spite. But that's about how much he wanted to live. His love died and left him a husk of a man.
Uuuggggghhhhhhhhhh LET ME LOVE HIM (cat biting duvet going crazy.gif)

Paying close attention to what is specifically said out loud for Hide to hear, and wow, Kaneki really gave him no indication that he was ever human, huh?
[ID: As Nishiki strangles him, Kaneki struggles and says "You mean... I was going to eat Hide? Who in the hell would do something like that?" Then he screams "I'm different from you!" End ID]
He never denies being a ghoul here, shockingly. Despite being all he ever says around Touka. The most he says here is "I'm different", but that comes off much more as "not cruel like you are" and not "I'm human unlike you".
[ID: Nishiki stamps on Hide's unconcious head as he rants "This guy has been your friend for a long time, hasn't he? Just when the hell were you planning to eat him? Waiting for a situation where you could attack him? The place is important too, isn't it? How about telling your senpai, Kaneki? What were you planning to do? Huh? Huh?! Spoiling another's meal plan is the best kind of feeling." Kaneki finally soeaks, saying "He's not food." Nishiki asks "Huh?" and Kaneki shakes as he screams "Get your foot off of him...!" End ID]
He does get pretty pissed off on Hide's behalf and makes it clear that he sees him as a person and friend. But again, he doesn't give any indication of himself being human.
[ID: Nishiki walks closer as he asks "Why are you 'pretending to be friends with some food? Is it fun to you?" Heavily wounded and weak, Kaneki mutters "It's not... It's not pretending..." End ID]
And again. He keeps it short and simple. He's "not pretending" to be his friend, and no specification beyond that.
And then worst of all, in his madness he ends up parroting what Nishiki said earlier. "It's my long awaited meal." Taken out of context, it really gives the impression that Nishiki had been right about him all along, huh?
[ID: Kaneki stumbles forward towards Hide as his kakugan throbs, and he says "Ahh, hahac thatms true... It'd be crazy to pass it up... Look... It's my long awaited meal, isn't it?" End ID]
But thankfully for both of them, Touka swoops in at just the right time and explains that Kaneki doesn't mean what he's saying
[ID: Two pages. Touka lands in the alley, glaring at Kaneki. He glares back and harshly says "Move." Touka walks toward him and says "Seems you're become pretty reprehensible. You dumbass. The pain and hunger drowns out all reason... and it's so painful you'd rather die, right?" On the next image she continues as Kaneki takes a defensive fighting stance. "in order to be released from that agony, it doesn't matter what it takes, even if it means using your friend's life, right? And then agter you've gobbled him down you'd be left alone to regret it, while covered in blood and guys. That's the hunger of a ghoul. That's our destiny. ...I'm really tired of it." She strips off her coat and releases her kagune as she finishes "...This time I'll help you out." End ID]
During Yoshimura and Kaneki's chat in Anteiku, they outright talk about Kaneki being part human and half ghoul and all the struggles but also hopes that comes with. So ultimately Hide does know the gist.
But I'm sure there were a good couple hours there where Hide thought he was right back in Chapter 1. That all along, Kaneki was a full ghoul only pretending to be human.
[ID: From chapter 1, Hide smiles happily and jokes "Kaneki, maybe you're a ghoul!" Kaneki replies, "Idiot. If I were a ghoul, I think you would be very dead, Hide." End ID]

Hanako's feelings...
This post I would also like to do. I focus on Amane's feelings being ignored.
***
Amane in the p.p arc seems to be really pissed off for most of the arc, which doesn't surprise me.Shijiama said.
Amane hates this world, but he wanted to keep this world and pretend when he understood that Yashiro could live. He was pretending for her, for her sake. He wanted her to be happy, forcing himself to pretend he was alive and her normal classmate.
Amane is a "coward" because he replied rudely to Mitsuba or was he pissed at Kou because they wanted to stop him.
"So that's all your wish really means to you?"
"Why?" Amane tells "why are you trying to destroy world"
Let's break it down into parts
"So that's all your wish really means to you?"
All I have read here are words of truth. Mitsuba wanted to live like a normal human, it was always his wish, when it suddenly came true with no.4 Mitsuba stands against in front of him because Kou gave him a speech. That's how much a wish is worth to him... just words are enough for Mitsuba to give up his wish so easily. In this world Yashiro could also live. Sure, being incarcerated is really not right, but he just did what he had to do which was stop them from leaving the p.p. arc and also Amane told the truth straight to Mitsuba's face he has right to be really pissed off that's obvious.
"why are you trying to destroy this world"
Kou and the others wanted to stop him so he was ready to fight. He tried his best to pretend to be himself these few days.... it wasn't really easy for him. Amane misses being human as indicated in chapter 2. It was really hard for him to pretend, but he did it for Yashiro's sake, and they wanted to destroy it.
Here can really see how happy he managed to be and tries to forcefully joke that "he wanted to see what it was like to be her classmate" which was an obvious lie. He's so forced, hurt, sad, but who cares, right? Pretending to be okay for the person you want to protect without telling her the truth takes effort too, but who cares, right? He's just an obsessed killer.
Amane is so "obsessed" that he was ready to leave her twice. He was willing to leave Nene twice so that only she could live.
There is desperation in his actions, but not obsession.
From the beginning, he is not obsessed with her, only want to protect her which has been shown more than once, it intensified because he fell in love with her and what's more, Nene came to him the second time, his plan failed, but he was glad to see her.. I see no problem with his joy. She came to him, not he to her to take her with him.In p.p arc he wanted to time to stop... he wanted live with her this fake world as Yugi Amane a bit more, cause he was to leave her soon. Leaving the person you love can't be called an obsession.lol. he was ready to leave her a second time so she could live a normal life even without him knowing that one day she would forget him.
He is not selfish, as despite his sacrifices, he took an interest in Aoi and tried to make her final journey less painful. Asking about her life, he showed her concern and support. Amane is not indifferent to the suffering of others and their fate.
But he's also not going to back down once he decides something. What he did for Yashiro was proof of his love, and he showed his "cruel" side again
He didn't want to give her back, he slightly lied that Aoi was devoured, but he didn't lie except that Aoi's soul is delicious for the supernatural. Just like Nene said, the brutal truth in chapter 1
He told Nene straight face and she denied it. The truth is that Nene always looks for looks and anyone could be good for her if he was handsome at that point, so he didn't say anything that wasn't true. He helped her understand for a while that she was wrong (she returned to her normal self in chapter 2)
Kou also insulted Amane several times and even Tsuchigomori.
Kou is also very rude, but that's okay because Amane will take it all on himself. Tsuchigomori doesn't like being called "spider-sensei" by Kou. Unlike Kou who will say something offensive. Amane can be honest with him.
He was sincere while being nice to him. He didn't insult him or question his relationship with anyone. He knows that Kou is weak and there is nothing he can do. He relied on him and he let him down, so he speaks from experience.
He told Kou to be careful with Mirai because he didn't want it to come out that Nene would die soon, he asked Kou to be careful and he failed him. It's not the first time Kou has let him down and can see by the expression on his face that he is very disappointed showing him and saying it, but he takes the blame for not stopping her, however Amane felt disappointed and so Amane knows he can't count on Kou can only count on himself. But he values his friendship and him as a person.
Sakura Nanamine is an example of selfishness. She does it for herself and she doesn't care if someone gets hurt because of her wish.
She planned everything and traumatized Nene for her own purpose to show her that she couldn't hesitate with Tsukasa while manipulating and pretending to care about her feelings.
Telling her that she doesn't have to blame herself, to say that it's good that she's doing it, agreeing with her and letting her know that if she doesn't destroy Tsukasa, Amane will, and she shouldn't hesitate when it comes to that point
Sakura knowingly leads Nene to her death and is okay with it. When Hyuuga doubted that Nene could do it, she replied that they would push her in the right direction. She cares for no one, thinks only of herself and is willing to kill and hurt others for her own gain.
Amane was doing it for someone he loves, he changed his plan to save her, but failed having no choice, he went back to the original plan. Sakura does it for herself and her selfish wish. She doesn't care about anyone. She is willing to sacrifice lives to have her wish granted.
His feelings don't count, he's just an "evil spirit" who has imprisoned them and is selfish and obsessed with Yashiro. Yes.. the boy tries his best, and his hard work, feelings and pain he feel all the time doesn't matter, because only Yashiro's feelings matter, so ignoring Amane's feelings, can hurt him, beat him, shout, insult him, because he will take everything on himself because he hates himself and thinks that what he gets he "deserves" it b after all he is a murderer so it's best to keep crushing him and he will take it all on himself best. When Sakura has no problem taking Yashiro's life and does it for herself, pretending to be her friend and care for her. Amane thinking "doesn't care about people's lives" before that is the opposite. He heart and feelings that he shows most with deeds.
I want Amane to be happy.

Something different that’s loosely inspired by Tangled and this particular cover on YouTube:
youtube
I know it’s a far fetched au but just bear with it and have fun.
—————————————————————-
When the twins were reborn into two separate bodies, Tiffany was too preoccupied with the mayhem of transferring her soul into Jennifer Tilly to keep an eye on the babies… or Chucky. She didn’t see when he transferred a fraction of his soul into a cop who arrived at the scene, and she didn’t notice when Chucky’s doll body went down without much of a fight (come on, why would he seriously fight his own child? He wasn’t a monster).
But she really should have noticed when she went to sleep one night with two babies in the house and woke up the next morning with only Glenda in the house. Baby Glen was already nearly out of the state with their father (in his new human body). Glen was taken because, well, Chucky was a proud man, and he had many hills that he was willing to die on. This particular hill was that he wasn’t losing both of his children to Tiffany, that wasn’t happening, no way.
Besides, raising a kid would be fun, right? He was doing Tiffany a favour, because twins are hard work (Chucky thought so at least) so if they both took one twin they’d share the workload. He really thought that being a father would be easy… how wrong he was.
——————————————————————-
As Glen got bigger and began to move around, Chucky realised that he’d have to find somewhere secure to keep his kid trapped safe, because Tiffany had used her newfound influence as a celebrity to put up billboards and adverts offering a reward for the safe return of her kidnapped eldest child. Glen had unmistakable red hair, that would be a dead giveaway if they were ever in public, so something had to be done.
It was actually pretty easy to find an abandoned house in the countryside with windows that could be barred. The hard part was trying to keep the naturally curious Glen from exploring. To combat this issue, Chucky invented a variety of cruel monsters that would await them if they ever left the protection of their father. For example, if Glen asked to go into the woods surrounding the house to pick berries, Chucky would give them a ‘regretful’ look and say ‘sadly’:
“I really wish I could take you outside, champ. Really, I know how much you want to go outside, but the werewolves are really vicious this time of year, you’d get ripped to shreds if you so much as snap a twig. Nothing I can do, sorry buddy.”
And so, Glen grew up very sheltered, with limited media access to prevent them from seeing their mother’s plea for them to come home as well as to preserve their naivety about the outside world. If Glen ever knew about what they were missing, everything Chucky had done would be ruined.
———————————————————————-
It was the week before Glen’s eighteenth birthday, and all they knew for certain is that for their entire life there had been something… missing. Like there was something they were supposed to know or be that had been denied to them by… somebody. The only person who could possibly be lying to them was their dad, but he was the only person protecting them, surely he wouldn’t lie? He’d always told Glen the truth about how dangerous the world was.
Despite being told for their entire life that the world was really dangerous, Glen was desperate to go outside, and they were nearly eighteen now - an adult! Surely their dad wouldn’t mind if they left the house as a full-grown adult? Glen tried to bring up the subject with their dad every day, but every time the word ‘outside’ escaped their lips, their dad would glare at them and say coolly:
“We’ve talked about this, Glen, ever since you were a little kid. What have I always said about the world?”
And every time Glen would reply:
“That it’s dangerous, dad. I know.”
Then their father would respond whilst patting them on the shoulder:
“Exactly, so just stay home where it’s safe, yeah?”
But not today. Glen wasn’t backing down this time, no matter what. They had backing arguments and were prepared to beg if necessary. They just wanted to feel the breeze in their hair and blades of grass between their fingers. Was that a crime? They didn’t think so.
So when their dad came home, Glen set their plan into motion. They pulled out the big presentation they’d made on poster board from under their bed and detailed all of the merits of them being allowed to outside for once. Their dad watched all of this with his arms crossed and a disapproving scowl, and when Glen was finished he simply said:
“No.”
Disappointed, Glen began to plead:
“C’mon dad, I’m eighteen now! I’m an adult!”
Chucky snorted and responded:
“Try again when you can legally buy a beer. You’re still a kid, champ. The answer’s still no, nice presentation though.”
With this, Chucky clearly thought the discussion was over, because he turned and began to walk away. But out of sheer desperation, Glen grabbed a hold of their father’s shoulders to beg him to stay. Maybe it was the argument, maybe it was the grabbing, but whatever caused it, Chucky turned around and shoved Glen to the ground. Hard.
———————————————————————-
Just ten minutes later, Chucky was begging for Glen’s forgiveness (even if he didn’t seem all that sincere). He kept asking if there was anything he could do to make it up to them, and at first Glen refused, but then an escape plan formed in their mind. If they could get their father out of the house for long enough, Glen could find a way to get out. With this in mind, they smiled coyly and said casually:
“Y’know, it’s my birthday in a week…”
Slightly confused, Chucky shrugged and responded:
“Yeah, I know, I was there.”
In their best neutral tone, Glen continued:
“I remember one year you got me these really cool paints made from seashells? I think that’s what I want for my birthday this year if you don’t mind.”
Chucky looked hesitant.
“Are you sure champ? Those shells can’t be ordered online, they’re a long way away, I’d be gone for a few days.”
Glen pouted and gave him their best puppy eyes.
“Please? It’s all I want for my birthday.”
Their dad still looked unsure, but something in his expression softened, and Glen knew they’d done it.
———————————————————————-
It took two hours and a lot of spare fabric like bedsheets and jackets, but Glen finally found a window that was open enough for them to drop part of their homemade rope to the ground below, close their eyes and pray. Glen was ripped from their prayer for safety when they felt a tug on the rope, like someone was climbing up. Sure enough, with much puffing and panting, a teenager with short red hair who looked remarkably like Glen had climbed their way up the rope, a relieved expression on their face.
“Thank god! I didn’t think I’d ever get in, you’re a lifesaver!”
Glen screamed and nearly let go of the rope before the teenager in front of them raised one of their hands in a placating gesture, saying:
“No, no, please! Just hear me out for a second, okay?”
Glen didn’t trust this person. All they’d ever been taught was that people from the outside world were dangerous, and even though they were determined to explore the world, they were still very wary of people - and this one had just climbed into their house without warning.
“W-who are you? How are you in my house? Why should I trust you?!”
Glen fired these questions at the stranger as they helped them in, pulling in the rope so it wouldn’t fall. The stranger just laughed nervously (a habit Glen shared… seriously, who was this person) before offering out their hand to shake Glen’s.
“I know this is gonna sound crazy, I’m still getting my head around it. But basically, mom and I have been looking for literal years, and I came on a camping trip on my own this week because it’s my birthday this week and I wanted to have some fun. I saw you in one of the windows and I just thought, wow, a person who looks like me, locked up in a big creepy house- no offence- then it has to be… Long story short, I’m Glenda, pronouns they/them. I think I’m your twin.”
Glen had nothing to say in response to that.

Laid In Scales The Dragon Rider Sanctuary
This takes place after the first one I posted, and it's from Triel's perspective. I'll probably get a little less disjointed after this. Potentially. Tagging: @drabbleitout, @ratracechronicler, @maple-writes, @pen-of-roses, and @grailfish!
As Kashi curled around me and rested his head on my lap, I looked over at Ives, scrubbing his dragon’s scales. So serious, as always. Perhaps I shouldn’t have asked him to go assess the new dragon rider. She hadn’t shown up here yet. He did tend to be…intimidating.
“So, Sparks, how’d your meeting with the dragon rider go? Did you happen to scare her off?”
He didn’t look at me, instead scrubbing the scales harder. “She’s not worthy to be a dragon rider.”
I hummed. “So, you scared her off from ever coming here?” His lips thinned, and he still didn’t look at me. “Think she deserves to die instead? She doesn’t deserve peace either?”
He stopped moving at that, before looking over at me, his bright blue eyes trying to drill into me. But he should know by now it wasn’t that easy to intimidate me. “I assessed her. She is not worthy to be a dragon rider.”
“So, you’re saying she should die.”
He stuttered, totally trying to find a way to deny it. “She would doom us all if she let slip what was going on with that pretty little mouth.”
Ohhhhh. My smirk got wider, and I wiggled my eyebrows at him as he clearly realized what he had said. His cheeks flushed as he turned back to his dragon. Dork. I chuckled. “That’s not why you condemned her. It was because your pride was hurt. We need all of us working together, Sparks.” I paused as he grunted an affirmation. “What did you do that was so intimidating as to keep her away?”
He didn’t look at me. “I beat her in a fight.”
There was the note of a lie in what he said. I tilted my head, scratching Kashi under the chin where he liked it. “That could be probable, but you’re lying about something.”
Ives looked over at me again, his cheeks flushed. “I’m not lying.”
I sighed and stood up, walking over to him and resting my chin on his shoulder. I grinned. “I can tell when you’re lying, Sparks. You can’t hide anything from me.”
He huffed and looked away from me, but I still saw his cheeks darken. “I noticed she was aroused because of me. Very unbecoming of a dragon rider. So, I mocked her and embarrassed her by teasing her and making her feel more aroused.”
“What the fuck did I walk into?” I looked around to see Rune staring at us, having just gotten here.
I grinned and turned to her, and I heard Ives sigh in relief. “Blizzard! Why must you always be late?" I walked over and hugged her, and she hugged me back.
“Because you always talk about the weirdest things.” She chuckled though, kissing my cheek in greeting before pulling back. She looked around, and her smile slipped. “Where’s Chess? She should be here, shouldn’t she?” Her eyes flickered to Ives. “You were supposed to convince her to come, right, Ives?”
He stayed quiet, so I spoke for him, jabbing a thumb back at him. “Sparks here decided to fight her and intimidate her then ultimately embarrass her enough to never want to come, instead.”
She blinked, and her cheeks got darker as she looked over at Ives with wide eyes. “Is that what you were talking about when I came in? How could you do something like that to her? That’s beyond cruel!”
Ives did finally turn around at that, lashing his tail. “She doesn’t even deserve to be a dragon rider! She has no respect for her dragon, keeping it behind while she went out unprotected. She is an embarrassment of a fighter, using a human weapon when she realized she wasn’t good enough. She was drunk when I found her, barely able to walk straight. And she let her lust distract her. She is a failure of a dragon rider, and putting her out of her misery is mercy.”
Rune stared at him, and I hummed. “Well, that is an opinion. Luckily, I’ve already decided to save all of the dragon riders, so I’m not listening to what you have to say.” Ives glared at me, but I ignored him. “I heard that Vyxis and Acee are meeting to discuss an alliance, so I’m sure you’ll have another chance to convince her, Sparks. Let’s hope it goes better than last time.”
He blinked. “They’re meeting for an alliance?”
“Yes, since they’re the only two leaders actively seeking peace, I dare say they’ll probably succeed in that endeavor. I wonder what the conditions will be.” I already had an idea since Vyxis was already married, and Acee had been burned in her marriage. A good way to tie together the two countries. Elements protect that girl. She was getting the short end of the stick. But maybe she could get him to warm up.

Undead Unluck ch.175 thoughts
[It's Hard to Look Good in a Hairnet]
...Did Tozuka give Rip a mole under his eye specifically so we'd be able to identify him while he's doing surgery? Cus he is nigh unrecognizable otherwise
I think of everything said in this chapter, the thing that stuck out the most to me was Emily feeling guilty about eating candy when she's been unable to eat anything else; she thinks that she's being selfish and only eating what she likes instead of taking care of herself properly, and that in doing so, she deserves whatever punishment God will give her
Rip denies this, as Emily isn't doing anything wrong. She's not eating food because her condition makes it difficult to (she's unable to eat, as it were), but any kid will eat candy given the opportunity because it makes them feel good to do so. Rip gave her the candy specifically as a way to counteract her inability to eat, circumventing her inability to ingest food by disguising nutrients as what would otherwise be empty calories (just like how Negator abilities work)
"If there's a God who'd make such good kids suffer, I'd fillet that jerk up good"
As it happens, Rip, there quite literally is. This world's God, Sun, has been doing exactly that this entire time
Kids who run fast but hold themselves back so others can win? They lose their ability to stop
Kids who are afraid to move forward with their life and allow themselves to stay stuck in place? They lose their ability to move
Kids who are anxious about whether or not they have the same feelings as everyone else? They lose their ability to feel at all
Most if not every Negator is saddled with their Rule because God is punishing them for just living their lives; the choices they make, the choices they don't, the fears that they feel, whatever ironic punishment God can give them to make them suffer, he will
Interesting then, that Rip never decided to fight God in the previous loop. For all of the altruistic bravado Rip put up to save the lives of everyone suddenly dying around him in the hospital, Rip's inability to save one specific life was enough to cause him to eschew every life. He never even seemed to blame God for Leila's death, for cursing him with Unrepair at that very moment, he only ever blamed himself for being the one to inflict the wound that killed her
Perhaps it was because he knew that defeating God wouldn't bring her back, that changing the world wouldn't mean anything without the love of his life in it, so instead of focusing on revenge, he wanted to focus on regaining what he'd lost - both his lover and his status as a hero
Sure, Rip played the part of the villain in Loop 100, but if time was going to be reset anyway, what did it truly matter? Every life he took in Loop 100 was going to come back in Loop 101; their deaths were meaningless in the sense that they would be erased, that they would one day come back to continue on without any knowledge that they had died. Their sacrifices would one day pile up to revive not only Leila, but themselves as well, so perhaps to Rip, he was never truly taking their lives, only borrowing them. At least, if we want to be charitable to the Rip of yesteryear
By saving Leila, Rip not only gets back his fiancee, but also the knowledge that he is capable of saving lives, a part of himself that he thought he'd lost and buried with Leila
But of course, that's not how it works, is it? Even if no one else remembers, Rip certainly would. Even if everyone came back, that wouldn't change the fact that Rip personally allowed not only the people he fought to die, but the entirety of human history to end simply so he could come back to let it all happen again. Saving Leila wouldn't end the cycle, God would still enforce countless cruel Rules on the world, and sooner or later, Leila would only die again because of some horrible celestial machination beyond Rip's understanding or ability to stop. All he would have done is created a mountain of corpses for Leila to sit upon until she inevitably added to it
I wonder if perhaps this is part of what Akira thought his mother would like about reading a story surrounding Rip. "He's kind, but he's suppressed it since losing someone dear to him." That really is the most fascinating part of Rip's character, that he deliberately abandoned his own principles for the sake of fixing one single mistake, and a brief glimpse of that shone through back when Anno Un sacrificed himself to bring Rip back to normal. And now, today, we get to see what Akira saw in him, the kindness and righteous fury that had always been hiding beneath the surface

hi yes this is incredibly late b/c work is shit tm but better late than never amirite
anyway, something about this chapter that leapt out at me immediately was Maki’s “uh, we are kids.” because i’m pretty sure something similar was said a couple chapters back (i can’t remember the exact instance though) and it seems to be a recurring theme in tpg: people being put into roles they don’t quite fill, not through any fault of their own, but simply because they cannot. gojo’s deification by jujutsu society is one such example, but it wasn’t something he had a say in, while nobara by comparison appears to have voluntarily taken on the task of acting(!) like an adult. she does, thankfully, end up joining maki & gang on the playground, but her conversation with higuruma undoes some of that progress:
“You treat me like a kid!”
“You are a kid!”
“And that’s enough reason to shut me out?!”
oh, higuruma… your intentions are kind, but your lack of tact is almost cruel. i think nobara’s response, coupled with the next line (“…brought a cannon and she’s not afraid to swim”) are very telling of her true feelings: even though she hates the fact that higuruma’s a murderer excluding the fact that his boss is worse, she is aware that he’s her parental figure now, and seeks (as all children do, especially those who were denied of it) emotional validation from him. higuruma really tried to pull the “being a child is not a sin” card but nobara didn’t hear the ‘not’ part lol. i find it depressingly ironic that his attempt at shielding her from the ugly truth of humanity & the entire mess with the sheriff end up widening the rift between them—it’s not… a terrible idea, in theory, but their circumstances are unique: nobara’s trying to understand & rationalise why the person she’s stuck with as a father did what he did, but she can’t do that if she’s missing some of the puzzle pieces. more accurately, higuruma won’t give them to her because the picture they complete is bleak, but she doesn’t know that!!!!
“I don’t know, Nobara. You deserve better than this.”
“You’re right, I do! But you won’t even try!”
… yeah sure kugisaki “you’re not my dad” nobara. and then, as if on cue, her phone rings with a call from her actual dad. the way she has to fight the urge to answer the call is nothing short of heartbreaking. she has to quash her own hopes, before her dad does it for her.
AAANDD THEN THEY HUGGED. THANK YOU FOR THIS. the part where higuruma wonders whether he’s about to be socked in the face reminded me of toji and maki’s hug in ch4 (yes i remembered), cus toji thought the exact same question. is this intentional please say yes. nevermind your answer is irrelevant i’m gonna start drawing parallels anyway /lh. toji & higuruma both start out extremely rough around the edges and knowing fuck all about parenting; maki & nobara both grew up with parents that didn’t love them. at least maki & toji had something to bond over (beating the shit out of other people. uh, curses. i mean curses.) nobara and higuruma on the other hand…….. lol
Also I didn’t miss the way Nobara was saved from a curse!!!! again!!!!! but the group shrugs it off, you know, as kids who literally just exorcised a curse by themselves do, and nobara’s too preoccupied with her crush on maki to feel all that offended. okay all jokes aside i think it really helps that they’re her age + she’s already interacted with them prior to this; she’s in a much better mental state than when higuruma first found her. i think it’s really cool that nobara has even more people fighting for her, which is exactly what she wants; she just hasn’t realised it, and i hope she does someday. (on an unrelated note: gotta love how maki takes centre stage and cleaves the curse in half though… her using yuuji’s sword as a platform to power herself thru the air is just 👌)
Does Nobara have anyone like that?
Yes. Yes, she does. Chi you’re drawing so many parallels here and I’m gonna throttle you. please don’t pit higuruma against a special grade…unless it’s toji, that’d be funny. who lets their kid bring a sword to school anyway?? tbf, it’s Phantom Guardian; i adore the idea that yuki’s cursed energy is with her, at all times…
btw yuuji is my fave if the pfp wasn’t obvious enough, and i cherish every crumb of his characterisation i get. i love the way he’s able to de-escalate any social situation because of how emotionally perceptive he is. kinda want to put him in a room with yuuta and maki and see what happens lmfao 💀💀
okay that concludes my horrendously long ramble. thank you for making it this far if u did. cheers
HIII KAY OH MY GOD??? THIS ANALYSIS IS SOOOO i put it into a word counter out of curiosity and the website said the reading level was college graduate so. 100000/10 analytical skills the curtains were indeed not just blue
response below cut this got long as hell
you're totally right that "uh, we are kids" was said in an earlier chapter! maki says it to megumi when toji gives the kiddos the stuffed animals he got for them at the zoo, and maki suggests they play with them:
--
Megumi turns up his nose. “Playing with stuffed animals is for kids.”
Come on. Maki slants an eyebrow. “Uh, we are kids.”
--
megumi is another child who had to grow up way too fast before gojo took him in, and now has to make up for lost time that he doesn't know quite yet how to reclaim. it's so cool you noticed this parallel between them, because it's gonna be super important in the upcoming chapter!!
it's so true that all of the tpg kids (and initial teenagers that are now in their low twenties) had some aspect of childhood taken away from them. isolated from the villagers, nobara tried to shed her own childlike qualities because she thought she had no choice but to take care of herself, especially because of the yet-to-be-revealed circumstances of her parents' disappearance.
and god....yeah, higuruma really has no idea how to handle that. i've said it before and i'll say it again: it's so, so important to me that he's genuinely terrible at this. he's the pinnacle of right idea, wrong execution: he wants to fix the ills of society but does it in the worst possible way, and he wants to shield nobara from how dark and terrible the world is by telling her she's just incapable of understanding it altogether. he doesn't want her to know all the pointless cruelty in the world. he doesn't want her to know he killed the sheriff to free her from the countryside. higuruma shutting her out is his way of protecting her, but the way he carries out his protection almost does more harm than good. almost.
PLEASE THEIR HUG....you're not delusional to draw that parallel between nobara & higuruma and maki & toji!! nobara and maki are the two tpg kids that have the most on-screen clashes with their parents, yet despite their initial doubts towards their parental figures, they still crave that emotional validation. after a lifetime of being shunned, finally, someone cares about them -- only nobara is half-convinced higuruma doesn't. i think some part of her does know he cares, but it's a part she refuses to acknowledge because she doesn't want to be let down by her father. not again.
nobara's confrontation with the curse was so!!!!! i really wanted to follow up with yuuta telling maki that nobara cares more about actions than words, so maki demonstrates her sorcery abilities rather than just saying it. maki's words post-fight, however, do end up having an impact on nobara: she's able to correct any misconceptions before nobara even has the chance to draw them. this will also be important as nobara's character develops!!
maki carrying the phantom guardian with her stems a lot from toji's desire for her to be able to protect herself, even in his absence. especially after the kids meet mahito in shibuya back in ch12, both nanami and toji don't want their kiddos to be unarmed, hence why yuuji also has playful cloud stuffed into his backpack.
YUUJI MY CHILD. MY SON. his emotional intelligence + crumbs that he blames himself for his family's doom even though it hasn't even happened yet. the first yuuji angst moment of many, many, MANY more
as for higuruma vs some special grade where he'd have to hurt himself in order to protect nobara...huh. yeah. sure would be interesting if that happened someday
alright, i'll conclude my horrendously long reply here. also sorry for the sukuna rant in DMs last night i think i was on something else

Hey! Can you write a Yushiro! Reader with Yan! Record of Ragnarok, where they are chosen to fight for the humans, and they fight solely for Lady Tamayo, who's in the crowd with tears in her eyes, along with her husband and child? With either the gods or humans, they gain their attention with their demon blood art, and with how much they talk about Tamayo and her beauty?
-You were definitely a prickly person, choosing to keep to yourself, if you had your way, and not interacting with others, and if you did, you weren’t the nicest person.
-You were a hostile and crass person, insulting others around you, calling them weak, since you were a demon- in your eyes, they were beneath you.
-You weren’t always like this- you used to be more cheerful, more willing to be with people, but time is a cruel mistress, and with time, you closed your heart off to all except for your one true love, Lady Tamayo.
-It was amusing for others to see how quickly you would turn if someone would mention Tamayo or if you were to see her. You could have a fierce glare on your face but as soon as you see her, you’re like a child getting your favorite treat, big smiles and bright eyes.
-You always denied this however, which amused those around you, including Tamayo, who knew of your rough personality but never berated you for it.
-When you and her ascended to Valhalla, despite being demons, she was elated while you were broken hearted as she was reunited with her family, her husband and child. While you were happy to see her so happy, you knew that she would only love them the way you loved her, and you couldn’t do anything against them, as that would make her sad.
-Tamayo still welcomed you into her family, her husband and child accepting you as well, as you had been her for far longer, but you were just her assistant in her eyes- her good friend, her little brother, she would never love you like how she loves her husband.
-When Ragnarok was announced, you couldn’t care less, as you were a demon, so it didn’t matter who side won because it wouldn’t affect you, at least until you visited Tamayo who was in tears, as she was at risk of losing her family a second time.
-Despite wanting her love- you would never willingly do something or allow something like this to happen- nobody was ever allowed to make Lady Tamayo cry.
-When you told her that you were going to fight, you found yourself in a group hug of her family, something that made you flush, yelling at all of them to let you go. Tamayo couldn’t help but giggle, thinking you were adorable- being so shy.
-You didn’t interact with your fellow fighters, not wanting to bother, as you were only fighting to keep the smile on Tamayo’s face, and you couldn’t help but beam as you thought about what she might do if you win! Like a hug or a head pat! You were very quickly fired up.
-You looked bored against your opponent who sneered at you, “A demon- why are you fighting for humanity?!” you just shrugged, looking bored, “I used to be human myself- but my reason is to make sure that someone I care about doesn’t lose her smile.”
-Tamayo smiled softly, her hands covering her lips as tears welled in her eyes as you pulled out your paper talismans and stunned all by turning invisible, masking your presence only until you attacked with your knife strike and various other combat attacks, having honed your skills over the years.
-Many were intrigued about your Demon Blood Art, curious on how it worked, and it brought some questions about Tamayo and her own skills as you were announced as the winner.
-Your sharp hearing picked up someone insulting your lady, “She must not be strong if she’s not fighting as well- must not be anything impressive-GACK!!!” you were instantly in front of this pig who dared to insult your lady, your eyes blazing, hand around his neck, pain and death were the only emotions in your eyes, “You dare insult the perfection that is my Lady Tamayo?!”
-Tamayo came over and pulled you off by the back of your shirt, and you turned, a bright smile on your face, stunning all those around you, who you had been threatening moments ago.
-She couldn’t help but smile softly, “Don’t threaten others who won’t even fight for themselves.” The man who insulted her held his chest in an offended manner as she insulted him back as you escorted her back to her family, enjoying her praises of your hard work and winning your fight.
-If it was to keep her happy, you would do anything for Lady Tamayo.

The Fair Folk; A Shadowed Souls Novel: An Introduction
The Story: Riichi Saito had a troubled childhood, but as a young adult they want nothing more than a quiet life far from the angst of their youth. The universe is not so kind. They think they have a chance at that peace when their absent mother’s sister leaves them a small house in a teeny community call Blindthicket, but that proves hectic as not only was it not actually from their aunt, their mother turns out to be… … A fairy dictator? Can nothing be easy in their life? Mitchell Spring is a Foundling; a human who was kidnapped as young child and replaced with a changeling. He’s not known freedom for a second in his life, but he’s willing to fight for it, and to rally the other foundlings to do the same. But the fey queens are powerful, and the Changeling Mother dangerous. He needs help to do it. Help on their level. So, when he finds out that the Autumn Queen has a secret child who could take the empty winter throne, he jumps to try to recruit them to help. But he doesn’t want to force them as they refuse, and he tries to find another way while protecting them from their mother.
Fair Folk is an extremely pro-solidarity story with found family elements, a queer romance subplot, and themes of harmful parenting and healing from that.
Main Cast:
Riichi Saito
凜一 彩冬
They/them
Childhood prodigy classical musician who quit competitions and performing in public at all when they were 16, after their father went to jail and could no longer force them. They don’t even like music anymore, but it was all they had for their entire life, and they feel like they can’t let it go.
Really, they want to find love
for it again. They just don’t know how, and it seems pretty impossible as more family drama comes to haunt them, now from their mother’s side of the family.
-
Mitchell Spring
He/him
Mitchell is a painter who never has the time to paint, instead having all his time taken by the fey who kidnapped him as a young child.
He could just runaway; he has just enough freedom to manage that, but he wants to change things, and free all foundlings and not just himself. So revolution it is.
They might be able to keep individual foundlings under their thumbs, but they can’t do it to all of them.
He hopes to make it so no kid is ever kidnapped like he was again
-
James Hynes
He/him
James Hynes is a Changeling, placed in a home to replace a child who’s name he now shares that was kidnapped. He ran away from that home when he was 16, and that’s when the Changeling Mother called him back to the Fey world, to help run the very system that produced him. And he hates it.
He was daydreaming his own revolution before he met Mitchell, and after they met, the two were inseparable, slowly and secretly building a coalition from the ground up.
Other Characters:
Nina Spring: Nina is a six-year-old Foundling girl in Mitchell’s care. He took her under his wing (and basically adopted her) as a way to protect her from the very mistreatment he received from the Changeling Mother as a child. She’s endlessly curious and very talkative.
Kyle Spring: A foundling who started in the Autumn court, but recently was transferred to Spring as to work under Mitchell.
Malina Autumn: Malina is the highest ranked foundling of the Autumn court, and she’s an ally of Mitchell’s in his planned revolution. Buff girl who kicks ass and takes no one’s shit.
The Changeling Mother: All Changelings are descended from her, though none are born directly from her these days, as she lets the lesser mothers do that, and she runs the entire awful system. She’s a very abusive woman, and no changeling or foundling wants her direct attention.
The Autumn Queen: Queen of the Autumn Court and Riichi’s mother. She’s cold, unpredictable, and cruel. She hates being denied what she wants to extreme degree.
The Spring Queen: Queen of the Spring Court, and Mitchell’s ‘boss’. She capricious and harsh and willing to go to any lengths to prove herself better than her sisters at all costs.
