Never seen it really discussed but despite his complaints about Pony Express, Jimmy is the only crew member to somewhat like being on the Tulpar.
Of course, the reason is sort of shallow, he likes being there due to the control he has in the cock pit as co-pilot. The fact that he’s actually in charge for once, even on such a minor scale. Everyone else has this open or held in contempt for physically being there but he likes it on a fundamental level, freaks out and lashes out on such a personal level when he realizes he’s losing the first job he’s probably enjoyed and that stability/control.
It’s not anything specific or I think polarizing about Jimmy but I feel like it adds to how he tells Curly this is home to him. Earth is objectively not a place of ease or comfort for Jimmy, but the Tulpar is. It’s a fucked up perversion of home and that’s so interesting for his character who also hates the corporate culture the most out of all of them.

When people deny that Bruce is abusive or has abused his kids in canon, what do they define as abuse? Because I comprehend that abuse is the harm of one person to another that can be physical, mental or emotional. Usually it's done out of malice, but you can still intend harm while not being an evil person.
I consider Bruce a very complex and extremely complicated person. He does a lot of good in his city, but he also does bad when it comes to his personal relationships because of his inability to deal with emotions in a healthy or proper manner.
When I think of him as an abusive parent, I'm not thinking of him as a father who doesn't love or care for his children nor am I suggesting he's a horrible and irredeemable person.
I think he's abusive in the sense that he's violent towards his kids when he feels cornered or thinks if they get an opening to fight back it will be a fair fight and his actions will be justified when he doesn't know how to deal with a situation otherwise.
I think he's abusive when he neglects to provide a secure emotional support for his children and pushes them away instead, even when they're trying to reach out to him.
I think his abuse comes in many forms and not always intentionally, but it exists and it will keep happening because he doesn't have healthy coping mechanisms. He doesn't have a normal life, he doesn't have healthy emotional responses and he has too many issues to even start to unpack any of that.
He's far from the perfect parent we all wish he was and he keeps messing up no matter how overwhelming his love for his kids is because he only deals with the problems the city has, never his own.
When you focus too much on something big, you'll end up neglecting other aspects of your life, and in this case for Bruce it means neglecting his family for the sake of a city. And he's a hero, he saves people, he comforts the victims and brings protection to the children of Gotham. Sometimes he will even be a shoulder to cry for the criminals that deserve it. And all of that is too much for just one man, and Batman is no exception.

happy birthday to my hyune. hyunjin who wrote a poem about stay’s eyes and how they shine brighter than any stars. hyunjin who paints old couples because he believes love should be eternal. hyunjin who needs to be chased off the stage by staff because he wants to greet stays longer. hyunjin who always reassures stays that they have a long time left together. hyunjin who reads poetry before bed. hyunjin who writes about love so beautifully as if he is the embodiment of it. hyunjin who says he wants to remain strong as to not hurt stays. hyunjin who says you need to practice with your 200% to show 100%. hyunjin who loves reading books. hyunjin who always tells stays to eat well. hyunjin who wears his heart on his sleeve. hyunjin who started a stay counseling center to listen to stay’s problems. hyunjin who wrote if love is everything, then there is nothing left for me. hyunjin who trained really hard because he refused to be just a pretty face. hyunjin who said that he loves easily, gets hurt easily, regrets easily then repeats the process because isn’t that what life is about. hyunjin who said that the wounds caused by humans are also healed by humans. hyunjin who remains hopeful and loving despite it all. hyunjin who eats with his eyes closed. hyunjin who loves going to art museums. hyunjin who said that there isnt a team that loves each other as much as skz does. hyunjin who said that there should always be a Stray kids before his name. hyunjin who loves so freely and who i love. you grew up so well my hyune 💓 please be happy forever.

A–Aventio TGCF idea?? Wherein Civil God Veritas Ratio meets the infamous Ghost King Aventurine during his first mission cuz cuz like— The "live for me" paralels?!? The one who has all the luck partner as well?!? The villain who was actually not the Villain this whole time!?!? The loving humanity a little too much it causes their downfall !?!?!?
Rant AU in the tags proceed with caution
#Okay to put it into better words:#Veritas having once being a prince wanted to give everyone the prosperity of knowledge and became a civil god in the pursuit of it.#Sadly this backfires in people using that knowledge for their own greed and creating civil wars within it as well as unleashing far more#Destruction upon the land. And the other gods didn't help Veritas in stopping that bc see that's what happens when people overshare info!!#So the aftermath is just pure chaos plus banishment from being a civil god and thrown as this god of war and plague.#800 years passes and he is seen to just still be doing the same things but I a simple term. Teaching people to read and count.#Often times taking up mission and doing research on new pathogens to help cure the sick that can't afford and somehow during a reading#Lecture he gets ascended back to godhood and everyone is like ??? And even he is like ???#Well he doesn't care much about it and just continues to do what he's always done. Except that once in a while he has to take a detour#Mission to deal with ghosts and other malignant spirits. And upon one of those recurrences he finds himself aquaintanced with#The infamous Ghost King Aventurine. Who is mostly feared in heaven due to having beaten the strongest and wisest at their own games. Even#When the odds where fully against him.#As for Aventurine.#His life was harsh but as the prince had given a lot to the people#Not just education but also free them of diseases and sickness. One of which had struck his sister. He liked the prince and wanted to#Follow in giving and protecting the prosperity of the former kingdom. But the good things did not last and his family was struck in between#The many wars that took place. No matter how much refuge Kakavasha and his sister sought no place was ever#Safe enough for them.#He watched the entire world go up in flames yet somehow he could hate the prince-god for it. But rather the people who had started to#Create weapons in his name. The rest of his years he spent it as a warrior slave and then when death reached him he couldn't even go to#The afterlife since he still held so much vigor and wanted revenge to all the people who had turned his land into ashes and his family#Into bones. That is why he became a mourning ghost.#(I didn't want the kakavasha story to be so centered on ratio like it is in tgcf. Because I think it will be fun for the two of them to#Not recognize each other at first after 800 years and then when they do. Rather when aven does he's full on: oh shit it's the cute prince—#As for who was the cause of the upheaval in the kingdom and the maker of the weapons. Idk I was debating there being more than just one#Antagonist to have pulled their strings in verita's kingdom as well as be the reason Aven's sister died. So he's more revenge seeking for t#And the genius society as civil gods just spoke to me it for so perfectly. Ling wen as Ruan mei? Yeah exactly.#ratiorine#Aventio#Dr ratio

What I Say: I'm fine. What I Mean: There was a Star Trek Novel in which Tuvok and Jack Crusher (Beverely's Husband) have to go undercover in a bathhouse that they think is a brothel to get information out of a potential lead and because of a series of hijinks at one point must come to terms with the fact that they're definitely going to have to go into the boss's private room completely naked and might have to go even further than that to get the info they truly need. They were ready to go all in on that "I'm not gay but a mission's a mission" life.

Transcripts under the cut
[Image 1:
“We’re here to meet someone,” he said. “I was told that a Melacron named Pudris Barrh enjoyed visiting this establishment.” The alien smiled. “Oh, I see…you’re one of Barrh’s boys,” she remarked with a knowing lilt. Barrh’s boys? Crusher asked himself. What did she mean by that? He experienced a moment of alarm but kept his composure.
“If you can get past Old Scowly there,” the female continued, “you can join Barrh at his pleasures if you like." She raised a long slender arm and pointed to a gilded door to her right.] [Image 2:
“I don’t know for certain what kind of establishment this is,” said the commander, “but I can make a pretty good guess.”
“Unfortunately,” the Vulcan whispered back with sincere and undisguised revulsion, “so can I.”
"Still, we may have to go along with it.” Crusher regarded Tuvok. “Would that…pose a problem?”  “Naturally,” the Vulcan replied.
The commander grunted. “I was afraid you would say that.”
“And knowing what I do of human marriage customs,” said Tuvok, “I would imagine it would pose a problem for you as well.”
Crusher looked lost “Maybe we could just play along for some of it…for the sake of-”
“My master will see you now,” said Old Scowly. He had reappeared before the Vulcan knew it. “You may enter through the changing room, remove your clothes, and join Pudris Barrh at his pleasures.”] [Image 3:
As it happened, Tuvok wasn’t happy either. If he didn’t know better, he would have said that the uncomfortable sensation in the pit of his stomach was apprehension. Of course, that was impossible. His control over his emotions was impeccable. And yet the sensation remained.
“There must be another way,” said Crusher. “There is no other way,” the Vulcan told him. “This is the situation in which your plan has placed us.” He knew his words sounded biting, but he didn’t wish any of them back.
The human ran his hands through his thick, dark hair. “Damn it,” he said, “If Beverely ever…” “Find out about this?” the ensign suggested.
Frowning, Crusher nodded. “But as you say, there’s no other option open to us. I guess we’ll just deal with whatever comes as best we can.” He grunted. “The things we do for king and country.”] [Image 4:
When the air cleared for a moment - a byproduct of their entrance - the Vulcan was able to get a better look at their host. He was rather corpulent for a Melacron, it seemed, and more pale-looking than most.
As thick, sludgy ripples made their slow way outward from Barrh’s generous torso, he waved to Tuvok and Crusher. “Please, gentlemen, join me. We’ve not met yet, but there are few better places to get to know someone than in The House of Comfort!”
[Crusher] and Tuvok exchanged a quick glance. Taking a deep breath, the human walked up to the carpeted stairs and placed first one foot, then the other, into the hot, liquid muck.
The ensign had little choice but to follow suit. He assured himself, as he sank up to his chest in the thick, surprisingly pleasant-smelling stuff, that there was realy no logical reason T’Pel ever had to become acquainted with this misadventure.
Besides, he reflected, there was quite a good chance that the majority of his and Crusher’s actions would be classified. He had to confess that he found some comfort in the prospect.]
Bonus:
Tumblr media
Tuvok and Crusher apparently both go home and tell their wives about this experience. I don't know if we learn of T'Pel's reaction but Beverely apparently thinks its hilarious!

Okay I need to write something abt Ivy's brain overheating n starting to cook her head bc it overworks and there's no way there's enough space in her super computer brain for an efficient cooling system combined with Tim involuntarily salivating and feeling hungry when he smells burning flesh as a hold over from eating corpses during the Moon War. This is no longer a want it is a need.
#Been thinking about this for DAYS but every time I open a word doc I get so frozen with emotions abt them so I end up writing nothing#ivy alexandria#gunpowder tim#the mechanisms#I can't stop thinking about it#picturing something like Tim just chilling in Ivy's library/archives. like he's got a bad migraine and wants to take refuge in the quiet#but he's leafing through a random shelf- not really looking at the titles- as an excuse to be there.#when he smells it#a harsh scent undercuttng the stale and dusty atmosphere and rising until it is as loud and pounding as his thundering heart#logically he knows it isn't actually that strong. but it's been long since they were planetside and even longer since he had to smell that#it's all consuming. and for a long moment he stands frozen.#Stomach sunk in his chest only for Tim to be filled with horror when he realizes he's salivating.#and then all he feels filled with is disgust.#he stumbles through the shelves. Fully aware that it could only be coming from Ivy.#He's not quite sure if it's the scent that draws him or a bastardized version of concern.#Either way she's researching in the exact same spot she was when he came in. He wants to leave but she's right by the door and his own brai#is screaming at him to check for a pulse and bring her back to the microwave victim pile for harvest.#Nevermind he knows they cannot die and knows they have food and even (logically) knows he's no longer in thise lunar tunnels#nvgtdtfhvhdgchvjcv ahhhhh no thoughts head empty just this scenario

Journey to the West Chapter 57
Tumblr media
In this chapter of Journey to the West with @journeythroughjourneytothewest we get to see how Tripitaka and Sun Wukong's second break up is going. So let's get into it shall we?
Last we left off, Monkey had made himself scarce after his fight with Tripitaka. However he doesn't really know where to go, or what to do now. If he returns to Flower Fruit mountain now, it will be in disgrace. And the same goes for hanging out with other immortals or in the celestial realm. Finally he decides that his only real option is to try once again to beg Tripitaka to take him back.
So Monkey returns to Tripitaka and begs him to take him back as a disciple, and promises to not do violence in the future. However Tripitaka's only response is to once again start reciting the tight fillet spell again, another twenty times. After he's done, Monkey tries to reason with him that he won't be able to reach the West by himself, because, let's face it, Sandy, Pigsy and the Horse really are just 'chopped liver' here... Tripitaka however says that whether or not he reaches the west is no longer Monkey's concern, and insists that he does not want him anymore. Once Tripitaka threatens to use the fillet again, Monkey is left with no other choice but to once again take his leave.
This time however, Monkey does have an idea on where he can go- the same place he goes every time he runs into problems, Guanyin's place. Once he gets there he is greeted by Moksa and Red Son, who ask what business he has with Guanyin. Monkey says he's here to tattle on someone to Guanyin, and when Red Son tries to joke around a little with Monkey, Monkey snaps and goes off on him, since he's really not in the mood right now.
Anyways Monkey is finally able to meet with Guanyin, and breaks down into tears, while he explains everything to her. Guanyin listens patiently to his explanation and tells him that he was indeed in the wrong for beating those bandits to death, especially since he easily could have just scared them off instead. Monkey agrees but still thinks he should have been given another chance to atone rather then be banished outright like this.
After that Monkey asks Guanyin if she can recite the loose fillet spell, so he can give the fillet back to her so he can go back home to Flower Fruit Mountain. After she explains that the fillet was given to her by the Buddha and that she doesn't know of any way to remove it, Monkey gets up to leave. He tells Guanyin that he'll go directly to the Buddha instead and ask him to remove it. Guanyin however asks him to wait for a moment while she scans Tripitaka's fortune. His fortune reveals that since it's a day of the week ending in a 'Y', Tripitaka will soon face another calamity, and will need his help with it. At which time Guanyin will make sure that Tripitaka takes him back as a disciple. And with that we leave Guanyin and Wukong for the moment while we check back in on Tripitaka.
Tripitaka is traveling along with his other disciples until he gets hungry and thirsty. And since he apparently hasn't learned his lesson from the last time he had Pigsy fetch him water, he sends Pigsy out to fetch him some. After waiting for such a long time that Tripitaka even takes the time to compose a poem about how thirsty he is, Sandy finally decides to go after Pigsy to see what's taking him so long. Tripitaka tearfully allows him to go, leaving him with only the horse for protection.
He's not alone for long however, for who does he see but 'Sun Wukong' kneeling on the side of the road offering him a bowl of refreshing water. 'Sun Wukong' asks him to take it, and then he'll go and fetch some food for him as well. Tripitaka however refuses, saying he'd rather die of thirst on the spot then take it from him. When 'Sun Wukong' once again insists that he can't make it to the West without his help, Tripitaka once again says that's none of his business and tells him to leave. This enrages 'Sun Wukong' who throws out the water and strikes Tripitaka with his rod knocking him unconscious. After that, 'Sun Wukong' takes their belongings and takes his leave. On that cliffhanger it's time to see what's taking Pigsy so long.
Pigsy has managed to find a human residence, and has even transformed himself into a passable human monk to make begging easier. He's able to get some food by passing himself off as a sickly human, and just as he acquires the food, Sandy arrives to find out what's taking him so long. Pigsy shows off the food, but Sandy says that water is the bigger priority at the moment and they only have the one bowl. Eventually they settle on Sandy carrying the food in his robes while Pigsy uses the bowl for water, that settled the two return to Tripitaka. Only to find him seemingly dead. Pigsy and Sandy panic, and while Pigsy curses out the bandits that probably caught up to them to kill him, Sandy just wails and cradles Tripitaka's body while Pigsy plans the funeral.
Luckily before they can bury him alive or something, Sandy is finally clued in on the fact that Tripitaka isn't dead, just unconscious. Once Tripitaka wakes up, cursing Monkey as he does so, he explains what happened to Sandy and Pigsy. The enraged Pigsy is all for going after Monkey in order to get their stuff back, but Sandy reasons that they should probably make sure Tripitaka is taken care of first. Since leaving him alone on the side of the road didn't turn out so well last time.
So after they settle Tripitaka into the house they found earlier, they decide on which one of them should go after Monkey. Pigsy still wants to be the one to go, since he's already been to Flower Fruit Mountain before and knows the way. Tripitaka however worries that since Pigsy and Monkey have trouble getting alone even during the best of times, that if Pigsy mouths off to Monkey, Monkey might attack him to. So they settle on sending Sandy who has better manners. Tripitaka tells him that if Monkey is willing to give their stuff back then great, if he refuses however, Sandy shouldn't try and fight him, and instead should go straight to Guanyin.
With that said, Sandy takes off for Flower Fruit Mountain. As Sandy begins to approach the cave he begins to hear 'Monkey' reading what sounds like their travel script aloud. Eventually Sandy interrupts asking him what he's doing, however 'Monkey' just immediately orders his minions to seize him, and has Sandy brought before him. Sandy tries to negotiate with 'Monkey', asking him to return their belongings so they can all go West together or at the very least return their stuff while he stays here. 'Monkey' however says that he didn't strike Tripitaka and take their stuff because he didn't want to go to the West. He did it because he'll need the supplies for his own Journey to the West. Once he retrieves the scriptures from the Buddha and delivers them to the East, he'll be the hero, and get all the credit.
Sandy tries to explain that his plan could never work. This whole journey isn't even about getting the scriptures, not really. It's a way for Tripitaka, the Golden Cicada, to go through trials to redeem himself. So Buddha would never hand the scriptures over to just 'Sun Wukong' by himself. 'Monkey' however isn't an idiot, of course he knows that he can't do it without a scripture pilgrim, luckily he already has one of his own. After saying that, Monkey shows Sandy, perfect clones of Tripitaka, Sandy, Pigsy and the horse.
Sandy isn't to happy to see his apparent replacement and attacks it, managing to kill it in one blow. Only to find that the clone was apparently one of the monkey's of Flower Fruit Mountain in disguise. 'Monkey' is also enraged by this and orders the other monkeys to attack, leaving Sandy to fight his way out. Luckily Monkey can't be bothered to actually give chase to Sandy once he escapes, instead, he orders to have the dead monkey skinned and fried so they can eat it later, and just has another monkey transform into Sandy.
Sandy meanwhile has resolved to go to Guanyin about this. So Sandy arrives at Guanyin's place and is greeted by Moksa who asks why he's here, despite already knowing he's probably here about the whole Monkey situation. So Moksa announces to Guanyin, and coincidentally Sun Wukong since he is also here, that Sandy wants an audience. Monkey chuckles at this figuring that the calamity that Guanyin mentioned earlier must have finally arrived. So Guanyin calls Sandy in, however as soon as Sandy see's Monkey he tries to attack him with his weapon. Which Monkey takes surprisingly well, by just dodging the attacks and not fighting back while Sandy yells insults to his face.
Guayin breaks up the fight and asks Sandy to explain himself. So Sandy explains the whole story to Guanyin, who says that it can't be possible for Monkey to have done all of that. He's been here with her for the whole time, and she's been keeping a close eye on him. Sandy however insists that he's telling the truth. So Guanyin suggests that he take Wukong with him back to Flower Fruit Mountain to see what's really going on. So with that Sandy and Monkey leave together to see what the situation is back in Flower Fruit Mountain.

and they were singin', bye-bye Miss American Pie // american oldie i think kuwabara unironically listens to
(low effort lyric edit im queueing here in May cos im probably gonna forget it exists otherwise)
#qeued post#for June cos hey pride#the idea of kuwa seeing his friends in a holy almost godly light namely yusuke#and having them all leave unexpectedly#cos before that night at Genkai's i feel like it was solidified in kuwa's brain DESPITE the sidekick complex#DESPITE the fact that he's human and the least powerful member they are still decidedly a team#A team he has a place on. But then all suddenly springing this... YUSUKE springing this departure on him. shatters that belief#yusuke says he'll be back and it seems to make things better but even so kuwabara's face still looks so solemn when he leaves#Likely cos he knows yusuke is just saying shit and doesn't even know if it's possible to come back#this wasn't supposed to be a kuwameshi post it's really not but there's always that undertone when i talk about them so#He just admires them all so much yusuke above all others only to be left behind and that's gotta fuckin hurt#The way we don't see the resolution to this feeling. The lack of belonging the abandonment#next time we see him he's just supposed to be over it but we don't really know if it actually happened#So I like to play with the idea of like . Did he really like healthily accept things or#did he just repress it and deal. Cos like eng dub he tells yusuke ''forget all that stuff I said'' immediately taking back#his harsh words bc it's either stay mad stay upset or quickly forgive and move on cos this could be the last time. or even the jdub#where he doesn't even allow the vulnerability to show enough to trail off he just spouts the normal shit bc it's what they DO he immediatel#tries to get back to the normal dynamic and push himself to being fine with it right now bc he doesn't have the luxury of being upset#when it doesn't matter cos yusuke's leaving. the last thing he hears from him shouldnt be reckless shit he was saying when he lashed out#aka i dont think kuwa's feelings get seriously addressed enough and this episode haunts me cos of that very fact#Im not making any sense. Gibeon seems to take betrayal very personally. He even took a dig at Amethio's father, presumably, when he told Amethio "so you were the same, you would stray from the path too...". He seems to hold a lot of bitterness over what happened. Given how he talks about him, it's no wonder that Amethio started seeing his father in a negative light and would say that he is not like him in an attempt to distance himself from him.
I wonder if Amethio's father will show up soon. I still think Crave (Friede's former superior at Exceed) is the only candidate for it from the characters we've seen so far. He showed up in the same episode Gibeon was revealed to be Amethio's grandfather, he seems kind and caring (and apparently, Gibeon doesn't like that), and they made sure to show that he is a married man. So it's either him or a character we haven't met yet. But I think Amethio's father is alive, not only because of the way they talk about him, but also because I think Amethio will mend his relationship with him and he'll have a home to come back to in the end. If Liko, Roy and Dot's families are there for the trio to come back home to, then I think Amethio's situation will be similar (or at least, I hope so).
Going back to Gibeon, I wonder if he perceives whatever happened with Lucius as betrayal, and now casts people away at the slightest hint of what he views as betraying him (Amethio's father, and now Amethio himself...). Gibeon seems affected by "betrayal" and maybe "choosing something/someone over him" from his reactions in the episode... From what has been implied so far, Amethio's father didn't take up Gibeon's will and chose his own path and wants (family, career..). And Amethio's actions in this episode made it look like he "chose" the enemy (Liko) over Gibeon, from his grandfather's perspective.
All of this makes me curious because all the framing around Lucius so far makes it look like Gibeon is the one who did something to betray him, hence why Terapagos seems to have a strong negative reaction to Gibeon's name being mentioned. But now, it also looks like Gibeon is affected by betrayal, potentially for a reason that has roots to the past (and which has been amplified by Amethio's father straying from the path, etc).
Liko's line about hearing people out ("I can see that there is stuff you'll never know if you don't hear people out") might have been the most important line in this episode. She got to talk with Amethio and they both got to hear each other out and understand each other better. And she only had to ask to receive answers. Meanwhile, Gibeon refused to hear Amethio out and shut down the possibility for dialogue. Which means that there is stuff he will never know, because he wasn't willing to hear Amethio out. It makes me wonder if whatever happened between Lucius and Gibeon is a huge misunderstanding that could have been solved if Gibeon was willing to hear the other party out. Like, what if Gibeon is dragging everyone in his messy breakup with Lucius over something that could have been easily avoided and solved, and what if there are huge misconceptions and misunderstandings on his side.

still thinking about your post about your dusknoir and how the option of doing Anything But What He Did was always available to him yet he chose to walk along a path that only ended up hurting himself and quite literally all that he held dear to himself.
I think he really beats himself up over it because there's something so gut wrenching over the idea that a safer, better option that wouldve guaranteed a good outcome to you and those you hold dear, yet your narrow scope of reality and the fear that crippling you if you had stepped out of your designed path (assuming he did not already do that when adapting to the father figure ruse that he tried to pull) had you by the neck to the point where even the option that 'things did not have to go this way' was already not possible, and you had no choice but to go on. and now, dusknoir had no one but himself to blame for the cracks and strains he forced upon the two kids who looked up to him. the option to be with them, to save them, to shield them from him, yet he took it upon himself to be the knife that stabs them in the back when they willingly embraced his shine and the venom that reeks into their bodies when he tells them how much they had meant *little*, if *nothing* to him at all. he could've raised their spirits high, yet he proceeded to slam them down into reality and teach them the harsh lesson that nothing good comes out of a stranger with good intentions, even when that stranger made you feel as though you deserved to be loved. that you did not need to be so afraid, and that there was no shame in who you are. he was their light, and he burned so bright that he left them tearing and weeping in the darkness.
