Today was... normal, I guess? I'm not working at the moment because I want to focus on my studies, so mostly I just do my chores and that's it. Today mom and I watched Dragon Quest: Your Story (I higly recommend it to you, also I remember a post that you made a while ago about some comfort games? I saw that most of them were made with RPG Maker and are actually kind of good, so I TOTALLY ABSOLUTELY recommend you play any Dragon Quest, or all of them! They're RPG's, and try to play the DS version of the games, the old ones are a little bit harder than their DS versions buuuuut you'll need to look up guides if you don't want to walk around aimlessly without knowing what to do... but yeah, they're worth it, trust me... does he has a Switch? Maybe he can but Dragon Quest X for the switch, it's the easier one to follow its story and... one of the very best of them all, so yeah, enough of that). I also help her with her homework because she works afternoon shifts so yeah, not much time for homework but its just your standar homework, nothing special. (I just realized this last bit looks like I help my mom with her homework, but I didn't mean mom lol)
I've been actually listening to mostly the same music as I did before. I... stopped looking for new music a while back. Music it's a delicate subject for me now, because back when I was trying to make some, it was a difficult and painful process for me so yeah, I don't go around looking for new sounds anymore, neither I try to make them. But I do listen to a couple new ones... aaaand speaking of, I am making a playlist for you. Well, I just started it some hours ago but got tangled up with her homework so I had to focus on it. I'll share the link with you via chat, you don't have to reply or anything, I don't want us to go through that again, I'll just send the link, save it on a note, wherever you want and then you can delete the conversation if you want to, it's ok.
Family's fine, just mom with her shoulder and hand, but everything's good. What about you? What have you been up to? How's your brother? He must be tall, right? I got a feeling back when we... that he would turn out to be tall, like, reaaaally tall.
And I didn't knew that fact, but that's something I would expect you would know. Thank you for sharing it, I'm going to start looking at my naps like you do.
And yeah, I go to her house on weekends and we just spend the day there with her family. I know all of her family, and actually get along pretty well with all of them. So yeah, we only sit around and they drink, like, a lot. She also drinks, "solo de la roja" but I don't. I haven't tasted alcohol in like... 5 years? Last time was with Alo in her house with her friends, right before the pandemic started. All of her family asks me why I don't drink, and I just tell them that I simply don't like it. Don't like the taste, don't like what it does to me (the couple of times I got drunk I actually became a looooot more cheerful and "extroverted"??? Like, I would go around the party and start talking with everyone... dang, maybe I do need to be drunk always), so yeah, we don't go to big fancy places or anything, we both are the stay at home watching movies and sharing a blankie type.
I actually read your post when you... well, posted it. I tend to have my phone close to me and... I'm sorry if I sound like a creep, but I have notifications turn on so I know when you post. That's because I want to know when you write something, sometimes I get so lost on homework or studying that I just forget to even text her back if I don't hear a notification or anything. I know it must be kind of weird, but I want to be 100% honest with you, so if you want me to turn it off I get it. But back to what I was gonna say, I don't remember reading about you going to sign classes. And I'm jelous! I kinda wanted to go too because of you and your brother, but after us I just lost the interest so I took chinese again, but if you know where I can go to sign classes let me know.
I know you'll do good at work, I remember you being good at everything you did back then, so I wouldn't even worry about it. But my condolences on that 12 hour shift.
Aang and Roku are so you, I can definitely see that. I hope we can both be like Uncle Iroh one day. Old and fat. Jk.
Ok, so I was aware about this test that you wrote about but I forgot what type I was so I'm doing it right now, I thought to write this before doing it but this just gets waaaaaaaaaay too personal dude like, its asking me "you are still bothered by the mistakes you did a long time ago" like, dude, who sent you??? Ok back to it.
So I got INFJ-T? Is that the correct English name to it? Ok, I got the same as Atticus Finch from To Kill A Mocking bird so everything's right in this life. Ok, so I was looking for the ATLA thingy you were talking about and I think I found the page you're talking about with The Avatar, The Airnomads and such and... Oh my god. No. Way.
Please watch Korra again. I know I've been recommending you a lot of things lately, but Korra is so close to my heart. Korra and Tomomi Nomiya are such a "literally me" characters to me. I'm actually using my brother's GF netflix account lol.
I... haven't actually asked that question to myself before. I've always loved water, I believe you know that, but water is such a passive, calm energy that I think wouldn't fit with me honestly. I was thinking more Air or Earth, Fire maybe because I'd like to do Lightningbending but I know I would kill myself for sure because I would get distracted lol. Air because I always wanted to fly, if you remember THAT antagonist from TLoK you'll know what I mean. But I feel I would Earthbend because I don't know... I just believe it fits more with who I am as a person and how I would interact in that world. I can see you being an Airbender too, and helping the Avatar to Airbend and that's because I don't want you to bloodbend, you'd be TOO powerful in our world if you could.
I knew you were into Yaoi manga, I remember you talking about it back then but I wasn't all sure. Now I am lol.
I find it interesting that you decided to share the ending instead of you writing the name of the manga/anime for me to look for it, and those lyrics... is there something you'd like to say? Jk, nice song btw.
Have you watch Nichijou? Azumanga Daioh? Lucky Star? You know I'm more of a manga guy, but maaaaaaan these high-schooler animes are just so fricking good and I laugh like a donkey watching them. ALSO Nichijou's both openings are just *chef's kiss*
Have a good night, and good weekend. Hope your shift passes by quickly. You'll do good, trust in yourself and know that if you're there is for a reason. I've always believed in you.
I'd like to ask you too if you're going to see him, if you're going to kiss him but... I'm not ready to know, but it helps that you write about your history with him more so that I can get a better idea of you actually loving him, it helps me in a way to face reality just... do it slowly.
But I do hope you enjoy your time, whatever you do and with whoever you do it.

Hello! How about 14 in your recent "love in the eyes" universe? Have an amazing day!
Oooh a new universe! 🙌🏻 I tried to make this smutty but it turned out a bit sweet lol. I love these beans! 🥰 Moodboard to come!
14. “Later you will definitely need to tell me where you learned this.”
Love in a pandemic was interesting, to say the least. It was the whole "are you tested" but in a completely different way. Regardless, the answer was "yes" on both accounts, for the both of them, which was how Dany found herself spending the very limited amount of time she had off from twenty-hour shifts at a rural hospital dealing with massive outbreaks and super-spreader events in an area that already had limited healthcare to begin with, hanging out in her extended stay studio not resting up for the next shift, but eagerly awaiting a 'date' of takeout food on rotation of the only three local restaurants that had switched to takeout, and watching movies with one very attractive Westeros Military Captain, who also had limited amounts of time off.
They only had time off three times, where their schedules could align, and honestly she was so exhausted when she finished, she just wanted to sleep for hours. Jon was in the same boat, so-to-speak, until one afternoon her phone rang, after she had just discharged several elderly patients who had come off the tube, their tests negative, and excited to say that they had survived a pandemic, along with all the other chaos that went on Beyond the Wall.
So she was in a really good mood, answering excitedly. "Jon!"
"Do you have plans tonight?"
"Depends, what do you have in mind?" She caught sight of one of the Northern nurses, Kari, who rolled her eyes at her and smirked, knowing full well she was on the phone with 'The Handsome Crow', as the 'wildings' up North referred to Jon's regiment.
"I'm thinking of a place with no masks."
"Oooh, talk dirty to me," she teased.
He laughed. "I'll pick you up at your place. Leave hte dragon behind, aye?"
She mocked his accent back to him, gruff and rolling. "Aye, aye Captain!"
That had been hours ago. Shift ended, she rushed to the studio extended stay, showered, brushed her teeth, quickly shaved her legs, shimmied into the only matching pair of panties and bras she brought with her-- and the panties were also not her comfy cotton briefs she wore under her scrubs but the only truly 'sexy' pair-- a red bikini set-- even if the bra was also cotton and not lacy silk and satin. It would have to do, and honestly, she was probably reading too much into the sudden date that was different.
But no, she did not.
Because while dating in a pandemic was weird-- flirting without even seeing his face had been surreal-- it was still dating and some rules still continued to apply. Like the fact they'd been on three dates, had even fallen asleep on her bed together, but all he'd done was chastely kiss her goodnight when he woke up-- to her disappointment-- it was still three dates in, which meant naked time was now officially on the table.
And she had been itching to see his face that entire five hour flight to find out if the rest of it was as attractive as his soulful gray eyes, his messy curly hair, and the strong body she could see hiding not so much under his drab black fatigues. How right she had been and also how wrong. The moment he pulled off his mask, she felt every nerve ending light off like fireworks, his jaw chiseled, covered in dark scruff, and his lips full and pink, shyly smiling over a set of white teeth that were adorably crooked in the front. It all fit, every bit of him, and she hoped that she had been the same delightful surprise to him too.
Jon picked her up on time-- quite punctual, he was a military man after all-- drove her from the hotel on their first outing and even as she asked him where they were going ,he said it was a surprise and ended up taking her pretty far out to Hardhome, where he surprised her with a dinner at a dockside restaurant, just the two of them, a favor that his friend Tormund had called in for him.
It was wonderful to actually eat out for once, like a proper human being, and then he surprised her further by indicating that maybe if she were so inclined... "Would you...do you want to go back...I got a hotel room," he blurted out.
"You mean not the dingy studio with the brick mattress and scratchy sheets and comforter of unknown origins?" she demanded.
"Um...it's an inn...supposed to be nice."
She'd kissed him immediately, sighing. "Take me there Jon Snow, I beg of you."
They'd sped through the mostly deserted town to the inn, barely got within the door of what she quickly surmised was a quaint log-cabin decor style with flannel sheets and a roaring fireplace, and...yowza.
Their first kiss had been sweet, on their second "date", when he left her to return back to the makeshift barracks he had been staying in near the hospital. They had been nervous about it, shifting on feet as she didn't want him to go quite yet, but he had a curfew. "Need to set an example, I'm the boss," he sighed, clearly annoyed by it.
"Well alright then...talk to you tomorrow?" She asked him hopefully, and he nodded, and then smiled, shifting and moving in towards her, and she grinned, accepting his kiss gently. It had been tentative, both of them a little nervous, and sure-- they were both anticipating getting sick most likely, since they were in and around everyone with the virus-- except she figured she would risk it.
It had begun soft, lips gentle, rather close mouthed. Then it became something else, his hand cupping her head and she grabbed at his shirt, opening her mouth under his, moaning when his tongue prodded for entry and she gave willingly, tasting the beer they’d had and his mint toothpaste and the barest hint of synthetic nicotine. She needed him, groaning and grappling as he stroked his hands over her face. So hot, she thought, not realizing how that felt until he was holding her upright by just her jaw.
Wanting nothing more to invite him back in, she reluctantly had said goodbye, her lips tingling, and his smile dopey when they parted. She waved, watched him leave, and counted down the seconds like a silly schoolgirl with her first crush until she could see him again.
And when she did, they'd kissed some more, like those dumb schoolkids they'd become, barely paying attention to the movie that had been playing, or their dinners growing cold on the table, but it hadn't gone beyond that; they were both exhausted, and to be honest, she wanted to wash her hair and maybe look a litlt enicer than the old college t-shirt and pink flannel pants she had on.
So now, well, now....sigh.
"Later you will definitely need to tell me where you learned that," she panted, staring up at the ceiling, catching her breath, her body shivering from aftershocks. She pressed her palm to her forehead, not at all surprised to find that she wasn't just hot because of her dragonblood, but because she was freaking sweating, like she'd run a marathon.
Beside her, he was in the same pose, laughter rumbling from his chest. "Do you really want to know?"
Since that might mean bringing up the other women who had been on the opposite end of those sinful lips, she shook her head, laughing as well. "Oh fuck no, but gods Jon Snow, who knew you had that talented set of lips underneath your mask? If I'd have known, I'd have jumped you on the plane."
A sly smile pulled over his teeth, those same pouty, now kiss-stung lips flushed from his exertions. "If I recall you did sort of proposition me?"
A tiny blush formed on her cheekbones, not that he noticed, as flushed as she already was. She turned on her side, propping her head on her hand, her other dancing over his smooth chest, where he grabbed it and brought her knuckles to his lips to kiss, their fingers threading together. "Well, I had to test a theory. I am a woman of science."
"What theory?"
"That you were into me." She lowered her lips to brush over his, grinning. It was his eyes; Doreah always told her that love came in the eyes. His had fallen more than once from hers to...other areas. Plus there was the pupil dilation, the intensity there, and the bit of sadness on the edges. It made her desperate to know more. "And turns out, you were."
He smirked, brushing his mouth over hers again, murmuring, "Hard to tell, those pesky masks."
"We figured it out." She settled her head in the crook of his shoulder, his arm draping over hers, knuckles idly running on her upper arm. She closed her eyes, savoring. It had been awhile, she was tingling and sore. It felt wonderful. The good exhaustion that she knew would lead to a good sleep.
Not that she wanted to sleep just yet.
Her finger pulled out of his grasp, tracing his mouth, whispering. "When do you have to be back at the barracks, Jon Snow?"
"Hmm....weekend pass, would you believe it?"
"Coincidentally, I have a day off."
"Whatever shall we do?"
She giggled, nuzzling her nose to his, whispering. "I have a few ideas. Most of which involve that mouth."
He snapped his teeth, wolfish, and pressed his palm to her cheek, pushing to cup her head, her braids tangling around his fingers. She kissed him, smiling so wide their teeth clacked, and devolved her into more giggles, as silly as that schoolgirl he made her feel like she happened to be. It was the happiest she'd been in a long time, that was for sure. He snorted, laughing when she blew a raspberry to his mouth instead of kissing him, and devolved into his own laughter, which she got the impression was quite a rarity with him.
They tusseled a bit, both trying to one-up the other, laughing and giggling, and soon her legs and arms were flying up, brain losing all control over herself as he tickled her and blew raspberries to her belly and chest. "Jon!" she squealed, pushing weakly on his arms. He had her pinned to the bed, and was merciless.
"Never," he replied, in response to her demands for him to stop, and she didn't fight him, both of them kissing again, and this time it wasn't so funny, the kisses becoming deeper, intense. He broke away from her lips and trailed off, her neck arching on the pillow, sighing, and hands falling into his riotous curls again.
She hummed, approving, and shook her head slightly. "Jon?"
"Hmm?"
He tilted his head up to peer at her, eyes black as coal. She traced her finger along his hairline, smiling gently. They'd known each other two weeks, but she was quite certain of how she felt. She nibbled her bottom lip, whispering. "This probably...probably isn't the right time but..." She took a deep breath; just say it Dany. Worst comes to worst, he runs away, and then what? Means it wasn't meant to be. She never took this type of leap, gun shy from previously failed relationships. She closed her eyes, about to speak, when his thumb pressed on her chin, tilting her face to his.
Eyes flickering, she saw he had risen up to lay beside her, intensely focused, and was guiding her face to his, thumb stroking her jaw. "What?" he whispered.
Love comes in the eyes, she thought, and whispered, "I think I love you."
There, she said it. Maybe it was the hormones, the heightened emotions of the time, the idea that tomorrow could be her last, for all she knew. They were working so hard and that was usually all she had, but now there was something bigger.
And to her surprise, he smiled, eyes crinkling, and it was the same look he gave her on the plane, when she first wondered who this cute guy happened to be, and what was his story. He whispered, in return, "I think I love you too."
Dany giggled, accepting his kiss, entwining her arms around his neck, and made a mental note to tell her brothers that the North might not be so bad after all.

A/n: sorry this took a little longer than usual, I had a huge project for one of my classes that was the only thing on my mind for like a week. Here is part 2 to the charlie weasley story I made a while ago. Hope you enjoy!
**Flash forwards 7 months to the week before valentines day**
Love was thick in the air at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry the week before valentines day, not only were people excited to spend the day with their loved ones, but the big school dance was atop everyone's minds.
It was no different for Y/N Y/L/N and Charlie Weasley. The couple was now into their 7th month of dating and they were absolutely head over heels for each other, let alone in the time of valentines day.
In the 7 months they've been together, they of course got to all the things couples do. Sneaking around at 2am, stealing kisses in the hallways between classes, driving their friends up a wall because they couldn't stop fawning over each other, you name it.
Their friend sof course, were beyond happy for them, seeing as they were placing bets on if this year would finally be the year they go together, (of course, Barnaby had lost.)
Now coming up on valentines day, you could guess they already had a date planned.
"Y/n?" Charlie said one afternoon on their way to charms class.
"Yes charlie?" She said with the biggest grin on her face.
"I was just wondering what color my tie should be so it can match your dress at the dance." He said with that mischievous smirk.
"Hmm, I didn't know i was going to the dance, no one has asked me yet." She said looking around for someone who wasn't there.
"Ahh, fantastic! Then there won't be any competition." Charlie said as he magically pulled flowers from behind his back. "Y/n y/l/n, would you do my the honors and go to the valentines day dance with me?" He bent down as if he was curtsying.
"Why yes charlie weasley, I would love to." He stands up and kisses her cheek just as they hear a round of applause. Both turning find their friends, Penny, Rowan, Ben and Andre standing down the corridor from them.
"Congrats guys, now come on, we don't want to be late." Rowan exclaims. The couple laughs and pecks each other's lips, heading off in the direction of their class.
As y/n sits down next to her best friend Rowan, she feels a nudge in her ribs. "What Rowan?"
"Will you go to hogsmeade with me Penny, and tonks later? I'm pretty sure we're going to buy dresses. It could be a fun girls day."
"Of course Rowan, I would love to." She says with a huge grin on her face. She turns to charlie, who is talking with Ben.
"Well charlie, I known dragons are fascinating to you, but to me, I can't imagine a more terrifying things." She laughs interrupting their conversation.
"Well ben, I promise you charlie would not let one harm you." She turns towards charlie. "Hey im gonna go to hogsmeade with the girls tomorrow." He smiles
"Okay, I'll miss you." She laughs.
"Charlie ill be gone for a few hours. You'll be fine." He sighs but agrees.
The next day, y/n, tonks, Penny, and Rowan are making their way down to the village, intending on heading to the dress shop, when a snowball comes flying at tonks head. Everyone stops and turns to see Andre, Ben, Barnaby and Bill picking up snow.
The girls laugh it off and pick snow up as well, engaging in a snowball fight that the girls are clearly winning. Y/n throws one directly and Barnabys head which hits him dead in the face signaling the defeat of the boys with a tremendous roar of laughter.
As the girls say goodbye to the boys and make their way into the dress shop, to the dislike of the owner since they were wet from the snow, they are all having great times.
"I don't think I've ever seen Barnaby that shocked since when you hit him y/n." Tonks say with a roar of laughter. She laughs.
"Yeah, he didn't know what was coming ro him." They all laugh together.
"Hello ladies, what are we shopping for today?" The owner comes over and looks at the group of girls.
"Well, we would all like to purchase dresses for an upcoming ball, preferably color coordinated, although maybe not y/n since she of course has to match with her date." Penny explains with a smirk in y/n's direction.
"I see, well what colors would you like?" The women asks the girls.
"Well for me, I think red would be the best option, since charlies favorite color is red. Do you have a burgundy or wine color dress?" Y/n finishes as the owner smiles and goes to the back to look.
"Of course, charlie would love to see you in burgundy, although, I bet he already has seen more than that." Penny says with a huge smirk on her face. She of course is talking about the 2am adventure y/n and charlie took an abandoned corridor, and did some things... (ill stop there so not every single piece of mine is smut;)
Y/ns cheeks turn a deep shade of red as the owner comes back with multiple dresses to try on. A few hours later, the girls were satisfied with their purchases, y/n choosing a beautiful burgundy dress that extenuated her figure nicely, and her friends with blue dresses that all looked amazing on them.
When they got back to the castle, they went to their common rooms and decided to get some rest, as it was quite late, considering they took forever to try on dresses.
The next morning, y/n met charlie in the common room and they walked to breakfast together.
"So, you never answered my question a couple days ago." Charlie started. "What color tie shall I be wearing?" He said with a grin.
Y/n laughed at that. "I won't reveal too much, but I would go with a dark red to match my drop dead gorgeous dress." He laughed
"Ooh I can't wait." They held as hands as they walked into breakfast.
The morning of the dance was filled with sunshine through y/n's window. It was a Saturday and she was going to get ready with her friends for the ball the evening.
She started the day by getting breakfast and listening to her favorite songs. By nightfall, she was with all her friends, getting ready to have charlie drooling over her.
"Y/n, show us your beautiful dress." She went into the changing room and got on her dress, which looked amazing with her curled hair. She walked out and everyone turned to her.
"Holy shit y/n/n, you look amazing." She giggled, "thanks Rowan. Come on everyone get dressed so we can go to this thing." Within an hour everyone was making their way downstairs at 7:30pm as the dance started at 8pm.
When all the girls were downstairs at the entrance of the ball, y/n got nervous.
"Y/n, what's wrong?" Rowan asked her best friend as she had yet to enter the hall.
"I don't know Rowan, i just, what if charlie doesn't like it? What if I fall on my face like an idiot, what if-"
"Hey, hey, hey, just take a deep breathe, okay? Girl you look so beautiful you don't even know, charlie is so in love with you that he is going to think you look good no matter what. You're beautiful and you don't need to stress like this. Okay? Come on." Y/n smiled at her.
"Thanks Rowan, you're the best friend ever." They hugged and y/n entered the hall, all eyes turning towards her and Rowan. Charlies mouth dropped open and bill had to quickly shut if for him. Y/n giggled at that as she made her way over to him.
"Y/n, you look, amazing." Charlie smiled. "Thank you, you don't look too bad yourself red." He offered you his arm and you took it. Walking into the dance with Charlie, you felt such euphoria, you were with all of your friends and your boyfriend, it was the perfect night.
"Y/n, may I have this dance?" Charlie asked, standing from the table where his friends sat.
"Ah, such a gentleman. Of course charlie." She smiled at her friends as they waved.
As the couple took their place on the dance floor, they felt so in love with each other.
"You look so beautiful tonight y/n, I love this dress on you." She giggled.
"Thank you charlie, you look dashing as well." She said as she leaned in to kiss him, which he reciprocated almost immediately.
"Wow, y/n, that was,"
"Amazing." The two moved closer to each other as they danced, her head on his shoulder.
"I love you y/n." She froze in her place. He felt it and pulled away. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that, we're so young and i-" he didn't get to finish as she pulled him for a kiss.
"Its okay charlie, I love you too." He smiled as they continued dancing, into the most perfect night ever.
A/n: okay, this one is not as good as the first, sorry! But I hope you liked it, I think it's cute. Warning, next chapter there will be ANGST!heart break and sadness lies ahead lol. Please let me know what you thinked of this chapter, it means a lot to me <3

HiJack AU - Rise of the Guardians Plotbunnies
Tumblr media
First
I realize I didn’t really explain much about what Dimitri does.
Tumblr media
So then...
If what I read online is correct, before becoming a Nightmare guy (in the books), Pitch was a guardian of fears or something. Then, Pitch heard something from what he was guarding and he thought his daughter (mother nature) got trapped on the other side of the gate he was guarding. He opened the door, the darkness overcame him and he became Pitch Black.
Mother Nature (to be portrayed by Anastasia) is safe. It was the darkness playing mind games with him that got him to open the gate.
So I’m not sure if this is the books or if it’s fanfiction writing, but yeah, that’s the plot here.
To that extent, Dimitri guards the gates. Sometimes, there are tiny minions who manage to sift through so his job is to track them and return them to their prison.
Also, a special message to my friend @hamish-fanfic-fangirl for being my source of encouragement for a long time, so far as fanfic writing is concerned.
It may just be a hobby, but it’s a hobby that keeps me sane during the pandemic. So I was frustrated for the longest time (frustrated-writer-skyeknight, lol, that’s me) when I’ve been stuck in blockage.
Now don’t get me wrong.
I’ll write my fanfics regardless of the attention of Kudos or comments or Hits. I write the stories I want to read my self anyway. No one else wants to read it? That’s fine. I do.
But that being said, there’s only so much I can do to push myself in wanting to write when the words won’t come. Still, I don’t feel the need to rush it since no one seems to keen on letting me know that they want an update, so whatever.
Though you never demanded for updates, and you read my works without an expectation for it to be (which I appreciate a lot), that’s exactly what it does though. Just one person, appreciating the works and efforts of putting ideas into writing. You share my hype in the stories I’m writing, and just one line, one word, or one comment from you brightens my day.
I don’t think I can ever fully express how much that means to, and this is just an attempt of it. Because everyone deserves to know that they’re appreciated, and you made me feel that way and I hope this expresses that you’re appreciated too.
SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Now on to the plot(easter)bunnies!!

What in the name of the Moon are Sprites?
Tumblr media
Who were they before they became aides?
Hiccup - Curiosity Sprite
Jack - Fun Sprite
Jim - Creativity Sprite
Dimitri - Cunning Sprite
Astrid - Bravery Sprite
Jamie - Imagination Sprite
You get the idea.
Sprites, in a sense, are invisible entities. For humans, they act as “conscience” of sorts.
For example, since Astrid is a Sprite of Bravery, she inspires kids to do the most daring and sometimes dangerous antics. She uses her powers to make sure they’re not injure though.
Hiccup is a Curiosity Sprite, he affects children nearby and hence, they ask questions a lot.
Kid: Why is the sky blue now but orange at the afternoon?
Parent: Because it’s morning now.
Kid: Why is it only blue in the morning?
Parent: Because the sun is up high.
Kid: Why....
When Jim’s nearby, he inspires the children’s creativity. (Drawing, Crafts, Story telling, simple token presents for parents, etc.) Without guidance from an adult, children would be able to make sand castles on their own.
Jamie’s presence actually lets the children live in their imagination, although outsiders looking in won’t be able to see it. Kid playing the floor is lava? Then they actually see that the floor is lava when he’s around. Clouds look like a castle? Boom. It is a castle.
At first, his influence is perceived negatively. When he’s around, the naughty side of children arises causing them to create mischief. But that is also part of being a child; doing wrong things or making mistakes to learn from them. Dimitri needs the assistance of other Sprites to ensure that the development of this characteristic doesn’t get worse.
Now Jack, well, he’s a Sprite too. Unlike the others though, he isn’t contented in being invisible and never to be seen. He just does his own thing. Instead of being intentional in his influence of inspiring fun out of children, he just does what he wants. He’s not causing harm though, so the Guardians are fine leaving him on his own.
That is, until Manny, with Anastasia, spoke to the Guardians to make an important announcement... She has chosen Jack Frost as her Aide. Which shock them to the core, because Mother Nature has never needed an Aide.
Why did he need one now? They need all the Aides, including Jack, to redeem Pitch and return him to being Kozmotis.

Note: They shrink in size when crossing to the human dimension. But in the Supernatural dimension, they're real size. So when Dimitri goes hunting for Minions, he can sense when they're nearby when at the human dimension. When he senses that, he crosses back to the supernatural dimension, while at the same area in Earth to confront the minions.
Think of it as... A fight going on around you but you just don't see it. They would protect humans from the darkness, and it's all happening around you. You just don't see it, because of the barrier.
Relationship dynamics at the start

In cinematic parallel, let’s say... It would be their first onscreen appearance
Jack talks and spends time with Hiccup whenever the Aide was on a job nearby. They race, for fun. Hiccup on his dragon, and Jack using his control on the Winds to help him speed up his flight.
Jim usually comes along with Dimitri whenever he had to make runs to recapture darkness minions. Also, in case they encounter children during Dimitri’s patrol, Jim’s Creativity influence combats Dimitri’s so they ensure that the mischief of the children don’t get overboard.
Jamie shares all his experiences and what imagination he had children feel as if they lived through with Astrid. With his ability, he can also conjure up illusions. This helps Astrid train her combat skills, with Jamie’s assistance it makes for a useful simulation.
The aides all have certain combat specs. Dimitri does have the job to capture darkness minions, but he can’t be everywhere all at once. He can teleport though. So, while waiting for Dimitri, if they encounter creatures of darkness, they keep them at bay until Dimitri arrives.

So far, I’ve been doing concept building for this AU. Next one would have actual plot parallels.
Thank you for reading!

Big Sister Blues
Pairing: Thomas Mendez x Tara Day
Summary: Zoey's reaction to baby Mendez-Day isn't what Tara hopes it would be. Companion piece to And Baby Makes Five.
Author's Note: I think I figured out tagging? Let me know if I missed you, I'm terrible at this lol.
"Zoey's not happy about this baby." Tara sighed at Thomas, placing a hand on her stomach. "She keeps on smiling at me and telling me she's excited but I know she's just saying what she thinks I want to hear."
It had been a week since they had told the girls about the baby. Luz had taken it upon herself to come up with possible names. There was an ongoing list on the fridge in Luz's scurried handwriting (that looked like her dad's) - the last of which had been Norbert after the dragon in Harry Potter.
Zoey was a little harder to read. She had given them a bright smile in response and hugged them both but she started getting quiet while Luz bounced around chatting about what they should get their future half-sibling.
"She and Luz were really excited to become stepsisters." Thomas frowned in thought. "I'm a little surprised Luz didn't have a whole blood oath ceremony but I'm not complaining."
"No, she always wanted someone to play with." Tara smiled as she thought about Zoey pretending to launch her toys into space. "I don't know, maybe while you take Luz to soccer, I'll take her out to go shopping."
He grew quiet for a moment, his face in contemplation. "She likes me, right? I know that she and I were good when I was her best friend's dad, but as her stepdad..."
"She adores you." Tara assured him, placing a hand on his cheek. "She loves that you started watching football with her."
Thomas nodded, taking the hand on his face and brushing the tops of her knuckles with his lips.
"I still can't believe you're my wife, Tara." He said in wonder, smiling at her ring finger. "I didn't think that this kind of happy would be possible for me."
She wrapped her arms around him, burying her face into his chest. There was always something soothing about Thomas for her, from the way she fit in his arms and the way he drew gentle circles on her back when they hugged.
They heard the sound of light footsteps coming down the stairs and they both turned to see Zoey at the doorframe of the kitchen.
"Hey Zoey." Tara greeted. "Luz has soccer practice at ten. I thought you and I might spend some time together."
"Okay."
She shot a worried look at Thomas over Zoey's head.
An hour later, they were strolling down the streets, aimlessly walking and Tara pointing things out to Zoey who gave a 'mmm' in response. She was feeling a little anxious at the lack of response from her daughter- she normally would open up to her about whatever was bothering her by now.
Now that she's older, it's getting a little harder, Tara thought wistfully. She knew Zoey though. Zoey needed time to process before she felt comfortable to express her feelings and thoughts.
A poster caught Tara's eye.
"Zoey, look! It's the unicorn cocoa! She said, pointing to their old coffee hangout. "Why don't we go have one for old times sake?"
Tara's heart sank at the hesitation on Zoey's face.
"Unless you don't want to..."
"N-No Mom, I want to go!" She said quickly.
They walked inside and ordered before taking the spot at a table. Tara looked around, noting that not much had changed from when they first moved there.
A lot had changed for their family though. From Tara and Thomas dating, getting married and expecting a child on top of the custody battle, there had been so many highs and lows of the year.
"Do you remember when we came here when you first started at Bernhardt?" Tara reminisced after their cocoa came. "You and Luz weren't friends yet and you were nervous about belonging there."
"Yeah, it feels like a long time ago. I remember you had met Thomas by then and you were blushing in the bookstore."
"I told Thomas that on our first date and he teased me endlessly."
"It's okay, he still blushes a lot, especially when you wear a pretty dress."
They both sat in silence for a moment and Tara thought about how to approach Zoey's aloofness. She had hoped that Zoey would be as excited as the day she found out Luz would be her sister but days had passed and she had only retreated more and more into her head.
"You haven't been yourself lately. How are you feeling about everything?"
"It's been a lot of change." Zoey admitted, looking down at her cocoa. "I love Thomas and Luz, but I miss you and me time and..."
She trailed off, forming the words in her head. Even though they didn't share DNA, Tara noted, there were habits she shared with her stepdad. Zoey had the same contemplative look before she brought up something she had been dwelling on in her head.
"Do you- will you love this baby more than me?" Zoey asked in a small voice. "I mean, this baby is with Thomas who you love and it's a baby you're excited about, as opposed to..."
The implication of her being unexpected and unwanted hung in the air and Tara reached out to take her daughter's hand.
"Being your mother has been the best thing in my life. I am so amazed at the person you are and I hope you know that."
"I do, but..."
"Zoey, you are my girl and I love you more than my heart can stand. It does not matter who your father is, or who this baby's father is. You and Luz are both my daughters and I will love the two of you as much as this baby."
"Do you promise?"
Tara thought about the first time Zoey had said those words to her. It was shortly after Guy had left them and she was starting kindergarten. Zoey had been a bundle of nerves, hiding behind her mom's legs.
She had uttered those words after Tara had reassured her that she would be back when school was over.
As if she was afraid Tara would dissappear too.
"The reason why I'm not nervous about this baby is that he or she will have the best big sisters in the world. And because you turned out more amazing than I could have ever imagined."
Zoey finished the rest of her drink and smiled at her mom.
"I guess it might be nice to have another sibling to play with. Babies are so little and squishy."
When they returned home later that afternoon, Luz and Zoey ran upstairs to brainstorm new names together, giggling all the way and Thomas slung an arm around Tara, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.
"You and Zoey have a good talk?"
"Yeah. She was afraid we might love this baby more than her because of who her father was." She sighed, rubbing her forehead.
"These conversations are getting harder." He groaned, interlacing the fingers of his free hand with hers. "I'm glad that we have each other. We're better as a team."
She smiled up at him.
"The Mendez-Day family is going to be unstoppable."

The Last Dragon

Daenys Targaryen x Thranduil
Crossover: Game of Thrones and LOTR/Hobbit
Chapter6
Masterlist
Summary:After Daenerys death, her daughter Daenys, flew away with Drogon. Feeling lost with out her mother beside her, but what will happen when Daenys find a portal that will lead her to a certain world, where dwell elves, dwarves, humans and other races.
Warnigs: Fluff
Words: 1.463
Two days have pass since the company have left me behind. I still can’t believe it that they left without me, even if Gandalf had said I was still part the quest. A sigh falls from me as i was sitting on my balcony room, watching the trees sing with the wind. My stay here has been amazing, the elves were kind and always help me whatever I was lost in this huge Palace. Me and Thranduil got closer, spending afternoons together in the garden. I’m not going to lie, I've fallen in love. He looks like a cold and heartless King but in reality, he is a kind and brave King, always worry with his kin and doing what’s better for them.
A knock on my door interrupted my thoughts, looking back to the door “Come in!” I say softly. The door open and Thranduil walk in, with a serious face “What’s wrong?” I ask a while a stand up from the sofa. He walks to my bed and sat down “The dwarfs have awakened the dragon...He’s destroying the Laketown and my son is there!” his voice came out like a sob, I run to him and wrap my arms around his shaking form. He hides is face on my neck, I could feel his warm tears on my skin. Rubbing my small hand on his back “Shh...It’s okay...Legolas will be okay. He’s a smart ellon, he knows how to stay safe.” I say softly to him, kissing his soft silver hair “I know...but I worry about him, I always had....I’ve been a terrible father..” he let out a small sob and wrap his arms around my waist. I continue calming him down, we lie down on the bed and stay there. Thranduil push away a little, so he could look to my eyes. He moves his hand to my cheek and rubs softly “Please...never leave me...” his voice was soft and sweet, full of love. I nod “I will never.” he begins lean down his head, staying inch away from my lips, looking into my eyes asking for permission. I slowly nod and with that he crashes his lips into mine, kissing me softly.
The kiss was passionate, making a moan escape from me. We break away and look to each other, with huge smiles on our faces “Sleep now...Tomorrow we have much to do.” he says softly a while closing his eyes.
After some minutes, I hear his breath become heavy, telling that he's fast asleep. I get out from his arms and bed slowly, careful for not awake him up, and walk to my wardrobe. I grab my travel clothes and change very quick.
Stopping by the door, I look back to the sleep form of Thranduil. I’m sorry...but I have to do this! I walk out of my chambers and went to the gardens, where is an entrance to a small clearing. As I arrive, I saw Drogon standing there waiting for me. Walking to him, I pet his warm snout “Hello, old friend.” he starts purring, I chuckle a little and climb to his back, grabbing his spikes “Come on, Drogon! Let’s show that stupid dwarfs of what you can do!” with that Drogon jumps in air and flap his huge wings, flying us into the deep night.
                                               ~~~~~~~~~~~~
When we arrive near the Laketown, I saw a massive fire destroying all town. Fuck! How Thorin let this happen? I order Drogon fly higher in the air, to try spot Smaug. After sometime looking, I saw him preparing to let out another blow in the town “It’s show time!” and with that Drogon dived down in the air.
As Smaug was about to let out his fire, Drogon grabbed him by his neck and bite off his skin. Smaug let out a loud cry “WHO ARE YOU?!” he screamed to me and Drogon, I look down to him and smirk “Your worst nightmare!” with that Drogon’s feet grab his wings and took him high in the air. Smaug try everything to break free from us but Drogon was much stronger than him, I look down to the town and saw that we were far enough to kill him. I grip tightly to Drogon spikes and yell on top of my lungs “DRACARYS!” and with that Drogon dumped all his fire into Smaug, melting his scales.
Smaug let scream of pain “HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!? FIRE CAN NOT KILL ME!” he screams in agony, “You were made with dark fire! A while Drogon was made with pure fire.” I said to him. Drogon stops and bite Smaug neck again, tearing off his head.
I took a deep breath as Smaug body falls into the lake. We did it! We save the town! I pet Drogon warm scales “You did good, my friend!” he let out a little roar. I chuckle, looking forward I saw the sun shining on the horizon, bringing light to all the land.
Suddenly I begin hearing little cheers far away, looking down I saw the town people applauding me and cheering for begin alive. A small smile forms on my lips, a happy sensation run through my body. So this is how mother felt when she set free all the slaves.
I order Drogon to dive down and land on the shore. As he lands, people begin running to us, cheering and thanking me for saving them. Slowly, I climb down of Drogon back and as I got closer to the people, a little girl jumps into my arms, wrapping her little arms around my neck “Oh Thank you! Thank you!” she whispers to me. A smile appears on my lips and I wrap my arms around her small frame “Your welcome, little Lady!” all the sudden a girl, who looks older than this child, come running towards us “TILDA! Don’t disappear like that!” the little girl let me go and turn to the other girl “Sorry, Sister...But I wanted to thank your savior ...and also to see the dragon...” at the last phrase, I let out a loud laugh. I put my hand on Tilda shoulder “If you want, you can pet him.” at my words, her eyes shined like two little stars “Really??” she squealed, I nod and let her go to Drogon, who was lying down. She starts rubbing his snout and giggled when he let out his warm breath on her face.
Suddenly a tall man with long brown hair went to me “In all name of the people of Laketown, we want to thank you for saving us.” he said a while giving me a little bow, I nod “Your welcome...and I'm sorry for not arriving early, like this Smaug didn't had destroyed half the town.” I said with soft voice. The man shakes his head and smile to me “Do not worry, my Lady. We will rebuild a better place for us.” I smile “Oh by the way, my name is Bard.” he says with an embarrassed voice. I chuckle and bow my head to him “Nice to meet you, Bard. My name is Daenys Targaryen and this is my friend Drogon.” I point to Drogon, who was now playing with Tilda. My attention got caught by four small figures walking in my way, I look better and saw Kili Fili, Bofur and Óin standing there with guilty smiles. I walk to them “Well, well, well...What do we have here? Four little dwarfs that were also left behind by the mighty Thorin?” I said sarcastically. They look down to they feet's, Fili was the first to talk “We are sorry, Daenys...We shouldn’t had left you behind but you know how Thorin is!...We are going now to Erebor. Do you want to come?”  he say with a tired voice. A sigh left my mouth, I nod “It’s okay, I forgive you...but not Thorin! And yes I will come with you.” they all nod and turn back to walk to the little boat. I grab Fili shoulder “And where do you think are going?” I ask with a smirk, they stop and look at me with a confused look “To the boat. Why?” Kili said with a confused voice “Well...I have a better way to travel faster.” I said a while looking to Drogon.
The four dwarfs went pale as I said that, I chuckle and wave them to follow me “Come on! It will be fun.” I said a while walking to Drogon.
Oh boy! This will be fun.....And wait for me Thorin because I will have a talk with you!
Hey Guys!! New chapter here. I hope that you all are enjoying this series as am I! Feel free to comment and tell me what you think!
XOXO
Yu Yu Hakusho Stage Review!!!
Before I start going over the show I want to stress just how INCREDIBLY lucky I got, because I got to see the show via a same-day lottery ticket, after failing EVERY lottery and general sales, and it was INTENSE!!!  On the Thursday when I lined up twice, there were easily 400 people in the line for both the matinee and soiree shows and even when my number was drawn, it was actually 2nd on the waiting list, not one of the original winners, and I may or may not have been seriously contemplating throwing some people down the escalators to move up on the list.  But three people canceled or didn’t show so I got to get in and I was bouncing off the walls inside, WHATEVER POWER WATCHES OVER ME, I owe it my eternal soul for the opportunity!
They opened the show with HOHOEMI NO BAKUDAN and I almost screamed from the nostalgia honestly.  They basically did an opening sequence with the song, mimicking the anime opening by having them fight one by one against a group of enemies... which is why a lot of those press release photos have Kurama fighting with his rose whip (when we don’t actually see his rose whip until later in the story that’s not in this play [ALSO HOW DOES HE MAKE FIGHTING WITH THE WHIP LOOK SO GODDAMN COOL INSTEAD OF AWKWARD?!?!?]), and why there are shots with Hiei letting out the Black Dragon or Kuwabara dual-wielding spirit swords.  I know some of us were curious how much story they were going to cover or how much they were going to skip, and it’s not because of some massive skip.  The story runs from the very beginning with Yusuke dying, spending time as a ghost, and then to just after retrieving the three artifacts of darkness.  They give us a hint of the four of them about to enter the castle of the Saint Beasts, so that might be where the next play (crosses fingers) will pick up the story.
The format of the story has Koenma (adult ver.) narrating (sometimes with Genkai) as he’s watching “old” videos of the group and reminding himself how far Yusuke has come.  Based on his conversation with Genkai at the beginning, the “present” in the play is just before the Dark Tournament, and everthing else in the play is Koenma watching those videos (also why there are press photos of him with a remote control).  This is also why they could fit the Kurama and Hiei meeting backstory, because it’s Koenma watching old videos and wanting to look back on them too.
Tumblr media
And also Arayan as Koenma is SO FUCKING FUNNY we were all cracking up a LOT.  He can actually enunciate quite well with that pacifier in his mouth!  And he’s always changing back and forth between his adult version and baby version because he’s either watching/narrating or in the flashbacks himself as a baby.  He also really liked breaking the fourth wall while narrating so for some of the cute Yusuke-Keiko moments, for example, he was like, “What a cute young romance—WHO EVEN HAS A ROMANCE LIKE THAT IN MIDDLE SCHOOL HUH!?”
I haven’t watched Arayan live since 2015 when I saw him as Lao in a Kuroshitsuji Musical, so it was wonderful to see him again and in a role that allows him to do so much more and be such a ham.
Tsubasa as Yusuke was amazing, fantastic, splendid, show-stopper.  I liked his Renji from when he was in the 2016 Burimyu, and so I thought I had some idea what his yankee characterization would be like (because obviously his Ishikirimaru isn’t a great reference point lol), but it’s even better!  He was so funny and so warm, and when he had the scene making the little kid laugh, I have NO idea how he was able to pull those faces.  He looked basically exactly like anime Yusuke pulling faces and I was wheezing so bad in my seat.  Mostly, I just couldn’t believe that he really unzipped his pants (while turned away from us) to stuff that kid’s ball into his crotch and dance around with it.
Tumblr media
Speaking of the little boy, we gotta give props to Genkai’s actress because she played so many side characters throughout lololol.  She couldn’t be Genkai for very long or often, so she was also Keiko’s shy, glasses-wearing friend in school, she was also Maya-chan (Kurama’s classmate that he and Hiei have to rescue) in the Two Shots scene, she was the little boy Yusuke saves (she tries not to talk as him), and she’s also obviously young Genkai.  Because she plays so many roles, there’s a narration bit where Koenma tells Genkai, “You know, in these videos, I keep seeing a lot of kids that look like you.”  And she tells him he’s imagining things.
Plot-wise, they did skip one major scene from when Yusuke was a ghost, and that was the scene where his apartment caught fire and he had to “sacrifice” his spirit egg to save Keiko.
Oh but I loved the bit where he had to possess Kuwabara to go tell Keiko not to cremate his body, because the way they did it was to have Tsubasa and Naoya do everything in unison together.  So all the choreography has Naoya as Kuwabara fighting all the guys that come at him, and Tsubasa just a little ways away doing the exact same thing, only he’s not hitting anybody.  And although it had been Naoya doing all of the talking so that we hear Kuwabara’s voice, at the point when he’s talking to Keiko and the lines start to get sentimental, they turn up Tsubasa’s mic so that they overlap for a little bit, and then they turn down Naoya’s mic so that at the end, we only hear Yusuke’s voice asking Keiko to wait for him.  He was also slowly moving off-stage while Kuwabara(‘s body) was talking to Keiko, so that the end of that scene has just Kuwabara and Keiko on-stage, but we hear Tsubasa-Yusuke's voice.  So I really loved how that was done because it mimicked the anime really well.
Tumblr media
I loved being able to see Kuwabara’s promise-between-men played out on-stage.  His squad was cut down to just two guys instead of three, since you really only need Okubo for that bit, and they needed to divide the ensemble cast between Kuwabara’s boys and the other punks who want to beat on Kuwabara all the time.  Naoya as Kuwabara was everything I wanted and more.  His voice, his expressions, his everything was just SO. GOOD.  And it was so funny to think how long I’ve been a fan of Naoya (since 1st cast Tenimyu days basically) and how I’ve never actually seen him live in a show until this.  So that was a real treat and a real blast of nostalgia on multiple levels.  I’m so happy he was the one to bring Kuwabara to life on-stage, he was wonderful, and I’m so grateful I got to see him.
Yuka-tan's Botan was SO SO SO CUTE?!?!?!?  Oh my gosh she felt so perfect to me in every way, and I loved her dynamic with Yusuke and Koenma, there was so much cute banter.  I liked when Yusuke was laughing in Koenma’s face and Botan kept spanking him because, in case we forgot, he’s like actually 14 years old at this point in the story.  Sometimes she was the one watching the old clips together with Koenma so she also switches between being in the story to being part of the narration.
If you wanted a critical review, this is not the place to look because I pretty much only found it wonderful and amazing and nostalgic and amazing but I do have one minor criticism and that is that Yusuke’s post-resurrection outfit for helping Kuwabara rescue Eikichi was not his fashion icon look from the anime.  He just had a regular color jacket instead.  Ugh, way to make him look “cool” stage staff. Lol
Tumblr media
The Two Shots scenes were interspersed between Yusuke’s ghost antics and I really do think my heart stopped when I first hear Hiroki speak.  I haven’t been a fan of Hiroki for as long as I’ve been a fan of Naoya, but he’s another one that I’ve seen so often in so many shows, but this was my first time seeing him live and he just has such a presence that it’s no wonder we call him HiroKing.  It was also fun to see Shouhei again since I haven’t seen him live since his last show as Noya for Haisute, and he’s as amazing as I remember.  Pretty sure he’s having a lot of fun playing early evil Hiei honestly.  Since both Hiroki and Shouhei have a lot of experience in other shows with sword-fighting (*cough TKRB/Hakuouki*), those bits looked really fucking cool.
Tumblr media
But YYH is heavy on hand-to-hand combat, not sword-fighting, and I have to say that they did a nice job with that too!  There were places where I felt like they got nice and creative with it, and it’s fun to see Naoya give Kuwabara a little extra flair with his.  The ensemble cast were integral to all of those fight scenes, and they had to do a lot of falling and flying around, and they also need a loud round of applause.
Gouki’s actor ripped off his shirt TWICE!!! Not once, but two times!!!  And I mean RIPPED, like not stage rip, like he RIPPED that shirt.  So I’m assuming they just ordered a box of cheap t-shirts for him to rip through for the rest of the tour.  Mind you, I was not complaining about the shirtlessness.   It was also interesting because after Gouki’s defeat, they put him in spirit world as one of Koenma’s ogre servants as a replacement for George in the second act, so he and Koenma have some fun moments since he’s quite reformed once dead.
Tumblr media
As I mentioned, they do give us a sneak peek of the four of them meeting up just outside the Four Saint Beasts castle, with Kuwabara picking a fight with Hiei and all.  However, we did skip over Genkai’s tournament, which comes just before that so it’s possible we might not get that little arc on-stage even in the next show.  Maybe to avoid rushing Liz into Genkai’s old lady makeup, maybe because nobody cares about Rando anyway.
The closing bows were also done to Hohoemi no Bakudan (I was maybe a teeny tiny bit hoping for Homework ga Owaranai), and during the closing remarks, Tsubasa very excitedly told us that during the afternoon show, Yusuke’s anime seiyuu, Sasaki Nozomu came to see them!  He was wiggling side to side and said, “I got a picture with him yaaay~” and then he asked us to come see them again in the Spirit World, to which Naoya started making confused faces.   Naoya: Sp-spirit world? Tsubasa: No?   Naoya: The story’s mostly in the human world, isn’t it? Tsubasa: Ahhh.... yeah! Naoya: You’re exhausted, aren’t you?
And that’s my review/summary!  Feel free to ask me questions about it or to just scream at me how much you love YYH~
I want to talk about my D&D character, because that dragon fight last night opened up a super interesting path for her that I’m actually getting kind of excited about?
So, brief backstory, her whole family and ranger tribe was murdered by dragons and cultists in a fire, blah blah blah, tragedy, isolated lifestyle, revenge quest, etc. etc. Anyway, this group is the first time she’s stayed with the same people for this long since she was a kid.
Last night, one of them almost died in the fight. Amaya was so focused on killing this fleeing dragon that it was all she could focus on. She was even ignoring the three demons who were attacking her, because she was still at like 50% health, and her AC is pretty high, so it wasn’t that big of a deal. She was up on a roof, so she couldn’t see our Fighter get attacked by three dudes right in a row. Like, it was to the point that we were all yelling at our DM, because they were still attacking him while he was unconscious. But Amaya, our druid (who came up there to save her, because he saw a cloud of darkness), AND our warlock were all up on this roof. We had no idea what was going on down there and trying really hard not to meta, because we get in a lot of trouble for that. (I even got a DM inspiration for focusing on the dragon, since dragons are such a huge part of her backstory, but that doesn’t help me be less upset lol.)
When the dragon was about to go out of range, I took my first shot at disadvantage. I rolled a 20 and a 1. It was SO PAINFUL. I made her roll a wisdom save to see if she’d take the second shot at the dragon again or switch focus to one of the demons who was attacking one of her party members up on the roof. She made the save, but she was so angry. At herself. At the dragon. Everything. And then, FINALLY, it was our bard’s turn who yelled about the fighter being down, so on my next turn I could make her jump back down and engage in that situation.
We ended it immediately after the fight, but it took a lot of effort for me not to have her throw everything down, all her weapons and equipment, and just start walking away. Instead, I decided that she would walk off without a word and go searching for the Arrow of Slaying that MISSED THE DRAGON EARLIER (and thankfully I rolled a 26 on Investigation).
Now, I don’t know what I can do to keep her with the party. She feels like she’s let everyone around her down. The DM told me later that he regretted not having an ally mage cast Invisibility on it on the way out, but I mean... what would that have done? Given her disadvantage, which she already had outside of 150 feet? She had Hunter’s Mark on it, so RP, she could probably “sense” it and would have still kept trying to shoot it. The whole thing was a point of pride. Proving that they can take down an adult dragon. Because they’re supposed to go hunting another one right now. But instead, it got away. And she’s really fucked up over it. This is the second dragon that’s escaped from them in a row. She was so focused on killing that dragon that instead of focusing on enemies who were closer and would be almost guaranteed hits, she kept shooting as long as she possibly could. Back in our first game, she broke the terms of an honorable duel that the Fighter was involved in to save his life, because his opponent was being a dick. And now he could have died??? For what?
So, I’m going to bring in my backup character next game. The DM has already told me that there’s a missions Amaya can go on. Weirdly enough, with this monk guy who was in our party for a bit. (That’s a whole other story and will make this post too long) She thought about killing him a lot, because she knows he was tangentially responsible for the deaths of her family, but over the time he was with the party, they actually formed a super weird bond. He’s never apologized for being involved in the incident, but an insight check that I did revealed that he feels guilty about it. He also only said goodbye to her before he left and gave her the world’s most awkward hug.
Cutting to the chase. I was talking to my friend this afternoon, who was playing that monk for a bit. I said, “Hey, the DM says he has a joint mission he can send Amaya and Elrek on if I have her leave the party. Do you think Elrek would be cool with that?”
Her response.
Was.
Oh my.
I expected her to be like, “Yeah! Elrek respects Amaya and her knowledge of dragons and knows they’d be a pretty good team.”
Instead.
“Oh my god! Elrek and Amaya are totally gonna bang!”
I mean, she’s not wrong. It’s just not what I was expecting her reaction to be. So then we spend an hour building up past relationships for every character in our party, even though most of them weren’t there.
I also wasn’t planning on Amaya having any relationships. She thinks they’re a waste of time and would put her in danger.
But she did kind of have a weird crush on Elrek.... so I guess that’s where we are.
[ 365 Days of SasuHina || Day Sixty-Six: Tea Cup ] [ Uchiha Sasuke, Hyūga Hinata, Uzumaki Naruto, Inuzuka Kiba, Haruno Sakura, Uchiha Shisui ] [ SasuHina ] [ Verse: Healing Waters and Scorching Flames ] [ AO3 Link ]
In all honesty, part of him wants to return to the shop.
After the war, Shisui’s gone back to run it, claiming his time - though short - in the Fire Nation army was more than enough. And given his loyalties to the White Lotus, being biased in any one nation now that alliances are in the works with the group as an important figurehead seems unbalanced.
And in all honesty? Sasuke misses his time there. Though it was a little...strange, and quite the divergence from his typical behavior, it’d been a time of good change in him. So maybe, in a way, it’s a little nostalgic.
But, he has more than his cut of work to do elsewhere: the Fire Nation - and he himself - have much to make up for after their actions in the century of war they waged. Along with the rest of Team Avatar, he spends every spare minute traveling, in peace talks, and even helping to set up new governments and laws. Not just in his own country, but others. Whether he likes it or not, Sasuke’s involvement with Naruto means a front-row seat in the proceedings as the world slowly rights itself after a hundred years of imbalance and turmoil.
A few years pass before there’s any semblance of a break. Thankfully Sasuke still gets plenty of time with his brother, and there’s little more he can ask for than that. The new Fire Lord is as well as he can be thanks to his healer, and under his leadership, the Fire Nation is making good ground.
...something he knows never would have happened if he’d been the one to end up ruler.
He tries, however, not to think about that. Things are as they are, and - as Hinata once told him - it’s time to move on. Look forward. And looking back on what-ifs and could-have-beens won’t get him anywhere he needs to be.
So, once the group all have time to settle down for at least a few days...Sasuke extends the invitation to the Jasmine Dragon for a small reunion, and a chance to see both his cousin, and one of his favorite places again.
They meet at the gate of Ba Sing Se to start, taking the tram to the upper ring and chatting as they go.
“Y’know Sasuke, you seem...different.”
The Uchiha perks a brow at the Avatar. “...do I?”
“Yeah! Like...uh…” The blond rubs at his chin, trying to figure it out. “...lighter…?”
“...lighter. What’s that supposed to mean, exactly?”
“No, I think I see what he means,” Sakura offers, taking her turn to lean in and study him...making him in turn lean back. “Something is different...like you’re not so dreary and depressing anymore.”
“Gee, thanks,” he deadpans in reply.
“That’s a good thing!” Naruto insists. “Means you’re changing!”
“An insult in the past is still an insult.”
Nearby, he just catches Hinata turning to giggle into a sleeve.
...for some reason, that lifts his mood.
Once they reach the proper station, the group departs and starts walking toward the tea house. “So Shisui really did just...drop out of the army to make tea?”
“Mhm.”
“That seems so...weird. Like, how do you go from badass general to...tea maker?”
“Everyone has hobbies. And not all of them have to make sense. It’s...what he likes to do,” Sasuke explains with a shrug. “And he’s damn good at it, so why not?”
“I mean yeah, I guess.”
“...I worked here for a while, remember?”
“Wait, what?”
...did he really never mention that?
“You worked in a tea house…?” Hinata follows up.
“Uh, yeah...for a little while. Shisui and I came in disguised as refugees, and...he found us work in a tea house.” His lips twitch. “...he quickly turned it around - the man knows his tea. Eventually he got offered his own tea house by some rich guy who wanted his talent, which included lodging, so...we took it. It was...honestly really nice. And then…” His expression falls. “...there was the time we all ended up in the crystal caverns, and…”
An awkward silence falls as they all remember.
“...well, things got better after that!” Naruto pipes up, trying to pop the somber bubble. “And now look at us!”
“...yeah.”
“Do you ever think about coming back?”
“...to work?” Sasuke tries to clarify, turning to Hinata.
“It sounds like you really enjoyed it.”
Looking back forward, he eventually admits, “...I did. But I have too much to do with our group. Maybe someday, once that’s all said and done, I can come back. Just for a while - I’m sure there will always be work to be done. But...maybe.”
Soon enough they arrive, and Shisui greets them exuberantly. “It’s about time you all made it here!” he teases with a trademark grin. “I saved the best table for you!”
They all take their seats, admiring the place. “Wooow, this is fancy!” Naruto compliments, gaping at the interior.
“He takes good care of it...and admittedly has pretty good style. It’s all based on traditional tea houses.”
Once they all choose their tea leaves, hot water is brought alongside beautiful tea cups. The finery seems mostly lost on almost the whole group. But Hinata admires her cup closely.
“He had them all custom made,” Sasuke explains from his seat beside her. “They’re all based on different flowers or tea types. I...dunno enough about it to tell you what’s what, but I remember that much.”
“This one’s lilacs,” she explains, holding it up to show the blooms painted along the bottom.
Before he considers his words, Sasuke offers, “It suits you.”
“...you think so?”
Uh… “...y-yeah. Purple always sort of reminds me of you.”
She blinks at him, clearly taken a bit aback. “...reminds you...of me?”
Thankfully the tension is broken as Kiba spills tea, earning a yelp that brings both their gazes back around...and several other patrons’.
“Jeez, we can’t take you anywhere!” Sakura gripes, trying to wipe it up...only for Hinata to bend all of the liquid up off the table and out an obliging window, into a bush.
“No harm done,” the Hyūga insists, smiling. Her Southern companion mumbles a thank you before nursing his tea sheepishly.
The group stays well into the afternoon, having their share of tea, and suitable cakes and snacks alongside it. For a while, all of their responsibilities seem to be forgotten. Even Shisui spends some time at their table, chatting with both his cousin and the others.
“I will admit, the Earth Kingdom has the best tea leaves. The Fire Nation is just too arid in most places to really grow it well. Too hot.”
“Well this is all great!” Sakura compliments. “You’ve got a pretty nice shop here, Shisui.”
“Thanks! It does pretty well. And there’s little else I’d rather be doing.”
“What about White Lotus work?” Sasuke cuts in.
“Oh yeah, that too. This is more just my daily job - White Lotus assignments are thankfully a bit sparse for me. Mostly just relaying information. Which means plenty of time here!” He smiles, and there’s a hint of mischief to it. “You wouldn’t believe the things some folks say when in a fancy place like this. They forget they can be overheard.”
“Very clever.”
“Hey, two birds with one stone!”
By early evening, however, they’ve had just about as much tea and cake as they can handle. “Leaving already?”
“We’ve got rooms for the night, but yeah - duty calls,” Naruto replies with a salute.
“No rest for the wicked - or the Avatar, eh? And of course his trusty companions.”
“Nope!”
They make their way out into the cool evening air and toward the inn they’ve all booked. “That was so lovely,” Hinata compliments, hands clasped at her front. “I’d love to go again and again.”
“Yeah, me too,” Sasuke admits. “Hopefully we can head back sooner rather than later.” Glancing to the trio at the front, there’s a pause before he decides to suggest, “Maybe...sometime, it could be just the two of us…?”
That earns him a curious glance.
“I mean, the others are great! Just, you know...a little loud.”
Hinata can’t help a light laugh at that. “You...have a point. It might be nice to have a bit of quieter company in a place like a tea house.” Smiling at him, she agrees, “All right...we’ll have to do that someday.”
Something swells in the firebender’s chest.
Once they reach the inn, they break into groups - the boys in one room, and the girls in another. They all say their goodnights, and then part.
Dressing down to sleep, Naruto can’t help but give Sasuke a sly grin. “Sooo, Sasuke...what were you and Hinata talking about so long behind us?”
He stiffens...and Kiba does the same.
“Uh...what do you mean?”
“C’mon, man! You were chattin’ up a storm!”
“...we were just talking about the tea house, Naruto. Calm down.”
The blond jabs an elbow into Sasuke’s bare side, eyebrows wriggling. “Maybe plans to go there...alone…?”
...how did he…?
“...and if I did? What’s the big deal?”
Naruto’s grin just gets wider...and Kiba’s scowl gets deeper. “Ha! I knew it!”
“Maybe I just like quieter company than you three loud-mouths,” Sasuke grumbles, pulling on a night shirt.
“Uh huuuh...sure.”
Tired of the teasing, Sasuke tucks himself into bed, back turned rather pointedly to his bunkmates. “Goodnight, Naruto.”
“G’night, Lover Boy!”
     Veeery late, but...done, lol      Some more AtLA cuz tea plays a pretty big part in canon AtLA x3 Since Sasuke lacks an Iroh figure, I instead have Shisui play Iroh's part, just...a little younger. And a little sassier, ahaha. I have considered maybe using Kagami, but...I dunno. Fugaku doesn't have a canon brother, and Kagami's technically a generation older, so...we'll just have to see - I might change it later if I ever make a proper fic out of the crossover, but for now, this is what we've got lol      And on that note, I need to head to bed! Thanks so much for reading~
A Work in Progress
This was a draft that I never got around to finishing until I was moved by all the support you guys were giving me...AND IT’S STILL NOT ACTUALLY COMPETE but I figured I would “talk” you all through the ending LOL Read on and you’ll understand.
Oh, and happy holidays!
“I would move a mountain for you.”
The tears started flowing and she couldn’t stop them. An ache settled deep within her chest as the book she was reading began to get blurry before her watery eyes. She lived for the pain and angst of romance novels, but she could never live through the misery of unrequited love herself.
“Sona?”
Speaking of...
She felt heavy fingers brush through her fine hair as the naked body behind her began to stir.
She wiped at the tears with the heavy sheets. “Hmm?” she asked, though her voice squeaked at the end.
“Sona, are you crying?”
“No,” she lied, even as she craned her neck back to see the sleepy demon prince rise from his sleep.
He rested his chin on her shoulder as he watched her with concern in his eyes. “What happened?”
Sona shook her head. “Nothing. Go back to sleep.”
“It’s not nothing if you’re crying.” He grabbed her by the waist and turned her around so she was resting on his chest. “Now tell me what Kai, the mighty Prince of Hell, can do for you.”
She rolled her eyes in amusement but closed her book to settle closer to him. “I was just reading a book.”
“Ah,” Kai murmured as if that told him everything. “What happened this time? The dragon ate the knight in shining armour and now the princess has to marry the big, scary beast?”
She cut him a look. “No, worse.”
“Worse?” he asked in an exaggerated voice. “What’s worse than being forced to marry a dragon?”
Burying her face into his chest, Sona took a deep breath. “Not knowing if the one you love loves you back,” she whispered. “The hero is about to die and he thinks the heroine is in love with somebody else. All he wants is for her to feel loved and do you know what he said just now, right as he was about to take his last dying breath?” She punctuated her words with tiny jabs at his chest.
Kai was tracing little circles along the back of her neck, comforting her. “What did he say?” he asked softly.
“He said he would move a mountain for her.” Sona sniffled and squeezed her eyes shut to hold back the tears. “A whole mountain!”
He let her wallow in her own sorrow for a moment. She clung to his chest, relishing in the comfort he provided but also wishing she could finish her novel at the same time. There was quite a bit left and she knew there were twists and turns around the corner. She just had to get through those to reach the happy ending.
Sona felt the little scoff that came from Kai. She rose her head and narrowed her eyes, daring him to laugh at her emotions.
He didn’t look at her, just continued to watch the spot on her shoulder where he drew shapes and lines. “He said he would move a mountain? Just one?” The corner of his lips kicked up as he gave her a sly look. “I’d part the seas and move a whole mountain range to create its own island if my woman wanted it.”
She snorted and laid her head back down. “This isn’t a competition.” She began tracing her own little drawings on his palm. “Besides, he’s a human, Mr. Mighty Prince of Hell. You’re not allowed to compare your powers to us.”
“You’re a pretty strong human yourself, Little Miss Wicked Witch of the West,” he teased. “I’m sure you could move a mountain or two yourself if you wanted.”
“I just got lucky at birth,” she said, referring to her ability to cast spells that influenced the weather. Then she thought about how her abilities got her to this place, running from her King straight into the arms and bed of the “enemy.” “Or maybe I got unlucky,” she mumbled with a shrug.
Kai gave a deep sigh but he kept his mouth shut. Sona knew how much he hated it when she disliked her own powers, but she had only started learning to contain the self-hate.
Growing up, Sona was raised in a kingdom of humans, where everybody was the same and nobody knew about the supernatural. Then her mom gave birth to a daughter who, at the age of 6, could ask a cloud to rain upon her mother’s crops in the middle of a drought that had originally caused a mass famine.
At first, the villagers had been frightened of Sona...until hunger took over and they knocked on her mother’s door to ask for rain on their own lands.
Though her mother had started with lies, saying there was no such thing as magic, Sona saw the desperation in her neighbours’ eyes and gave the farmers some rain during the night when nobody could see.
Her village flourished and things were great as Sona grew older. There was only one summer where officials were suspicious. It was hard enough to grow produce on the side of the mountain, but Sona’s mother was bringing carts and carts of crops to the market everyday.
After they had a suspicious official search their home, Sona knew she couldn’t overdo it with the weather anymore. She kept low until a second drought hit her kingdom years later.
The new King had heard of the remarkable growth of Sona’s village and sent soldiers to interrogate the people.
She didn’t like to think about that day because it was the last time she saw her mother before being dragged away to the King’s court.
There, her powers were honed and abused. She was locked up for days until she could cause floods that filled all the rice paddies, till she could bring the sun out in the middle of the night.
And she was forced into an engagement with the King.
It wasn’t until one of her guards saw her plans for an escape that he helped her leave the walls of the kingdom. She walked for days and days until she came upon a town inhabited by what she thought were monsters.
She remembered blacking out before waking up to see Kai’s face.
“What are your plans for today?” he asked, changing the subject and pulling her out of her reverie.
She smiled to herself, thinking of the past month where he patched her up and introduced her to a spellcaster in his outcast town who helped build her skills. Kai was the leader of this town on the other side of the mountain and she grew to love him day by day.
Which was why she wasn’t surprised when he told her he was a demon prince, banished from hell to live out his life on Earth.
Sona played with the chain around his neck. “I think I’ll go visit Mr. Oh this afternoon and bring his family some cake. It’s his grandson’s birthday.” Mr. Oh was the spellcaster who was surprised by Sona’s powers and excited to work with her. He was like a father figure to her. “What’s this?” she asked, pointing at the clover on Kai’s chain.
“It’s the protection charm you gave me,” he explained. She had given Kai a coin with a protection spell on it the day Mr. Oh had taught it to her. “I didn’t know where to keep the coin so I got it melted down into a clover and attached it to my neck. Now I won’t be able to lose it.”
She felt a smile cracking through her lips. “I like it.” She leaned up to give him a quick kiss on the lips.
He rolled her over to deepen it. “You’ll like this too.”
Sona moaned as a hand skated up her side, brushing her nipple in a tease.
And this was where her conscious fought with her.
The relationship she shared with Kai was so perfect, yet neither of them knew where they stood. When she had first climbed into his bed, it was like a magnet had brought them together. After that, they were unable to spend a night apart. And during the day, she longed to be close to him. She wanted to share all her thoughts and ideas with him.
But she knew his greatest wish was to go back home. Things were difficult on Earth, especially in a town where it rained often. And many days were a gloomy grey. In the middle of a week of rain, Sona broke her own rules just to part the clouds and let the sun peak through a bit.
She didn’t realize her heart would be the one to warm up when she saw Kai watching her with awe and pride.
So, selfishly, she tried everything she could to make him happy. She wanted him to stay despite knowing it was futile. He deserved to go back home, where he could be treated like the prince he was.
And where humans weren’t allowed unless they were dead.
---
OK I’ve let this “first chapter” sit here for a long while and I’ve tried to come back to it but I can’t so here is the rest of the plot:
The next day, they wake up to their village being seized by Sona’s kingdom’s army. Kai fights them and wins, but a soldier named Baekhyun finds Sona. Baekhyun is the one who freed Sona in the first place so even though Kai is like “WTFFFF IMMA KILL YOU,” Sona is like “lemme talk to Baekhyun.” Baek is like “yo, I admit defeat but like...you gotta come back with me to your kingdom.”
Kai is pissed.
Sona (the reasonable person she is) asks “why?”
Baekhyun: If you don’t, the king is gonna burn down the whole kingdom.
The kingdom is on the other side of the mountain. The inland side, so it doesn’t get much rain.
In comparison, Kai’s village is on the side of the mountain that faces the ocean and therefore gets hella rain.
The proper term for all of this is “rain shadow.” For reference, think of North America’s Rocky Mountains LOOOL
ANYWAY, Sona’s kingdom is dying once again because it’s a desert and only she was able to grow FUCKEN RICE IN A DESERT. So the king is calling her back or else he’s gonna set fire to a kingdom of starving people.
And why is Baekhyun so worried? BECAUSE HE’S GOT A GIRL BACK THERE ;______; He was ready to wife her!!!!!
Sona is like “nooooo :( moral duties!”
Kai’s like “FJKDALGHDKALFJDKSLJFDKALHGDKLSJ YOU CAN’T GO.....OK I KNOW YOU WANNA GO REALLY BAD BUT...JFKDALGHKS ok but like I’m coming.”
Sona’s like “no the humans hate demons. they’re gonna kill you :(((((((((( This is my fight.”
Kai’s like “LISTEN. TO. ME. LINDA.”
Tumblr media
Ofc he has to be heroic and shit so Sona’s like “FINE. But you are only gonna be chaperoning me. I am NOT risking ur ass by taking you into a kingdom that hates anything ~magical~”
Kai agrees but more like “k watever”
ANYWAY, THEY GO.
Here is where I had a dilemma LOL I wanted them to go on a motorcycle because KIM JONGIN IS SO HOT ON A MOTORCYCLE LMFAO but why would a demon from a poor wittle village have a motorcycle....
So in my head, they rode on some motorcycle thingy that had a big black cloud veil and whatnot while Baekhyun rode his horse with the other nearly-dead soldiers behind them lol
They arrive at the kingdom and Kai is pissed af because he’s worried :( Yeah I hate when men do this because it’s a really bad way to channel your emotions but men are dumb and never change ALAS!
They get in a big fight and Sona has to leave to go into the kingdom while they’re still angry/ignoring each other.
Kai is all haughty and fuming, waiting in a tree and shit while he watches Sona be escorted past the gates of the kingdom....and the moment she is gone, HE STARTS REGRETTING EVERYTHING LMFAO
jokes on you!
Sona agrees to whatever the king says (idk what he says, lol my imagination didn’t care about this king) BUT THE KING GOES BACK ON HIS WORD BECAUSE HE’S SMART ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT HIS KINGDOM IS PERISHING DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES OUT OF HIS CONTROL YET EVERYBODY THINKS IT’S HIS OWN FAULT so he sets fire to everything including himself. I feel like his brain’s going “If I can’t rule this kingdom, THEN NOBODY SHALL!”
He dies, but his orders were to have soldiers scattered around the kingdom so that once the king’s castle was lit on fire, these soldiers would know to start fires in their own places too.
Thankfully, they’re not ALL dumb as shit. Some decide that this is actually a bad idea, so they help evacuate whoever they can.
Ofc, our heroine helps too :’) She brings whoever she can out past the gates and then tries to bring some rain from the ocean.
While she’s working, she realizes that Kai is not at their meeting spot. She doesn’t see him at all, actually.
She’s scared but SHE HAS WORK TO DO!
So she’s all busy concentrating on bringing the rain past the mountains (she cannot gather enough water from the land around her to create a mass of precipitation because it’s a desert.......yes, i think about these things too)
BUT SHE’S STRUGGLING CUZ BITCH, THESE ARE SOME BIG MOUNTAIN RANGES AND IT WASN’T MEANT TO RAIN FOR ANOTHER MONTH.
Then she sees Kai running towards her carrying a whole cart of people (indeed, our man found a CART!)
She’s about to call him but then he runs back in and she’s like “OMFG I’M GONNA LOSE HIM” but that thought only stays for a split second cuz she still has to get the rain over here lol
The fire’s basically burned down the kingdom at this point. Kai has brought out many people (he’s fine in the fire because he’s a demon AND he has a cute protection charm hehehe) but then he sees Sona struggling and he looks up and sees the dark clouds forming on the other side of the mountain.
Guess what he does?
biiiiitch
Sona is like “O_O” when she suddenly looks over and KAI IS PUSHING THE MOUNTAIN RANGE OVER.
biiiitch he did that!
Rain pooooooooours down the mountain and starts dousing the fire. Problem is, everything is suddenly dark and the ground is slippery lol DIDN’T THINK OF THAT, HUH?
So they’re still scrambling to get survivors out. Towards the end, Sona is helping a family out when suddenly she slips because she’s human and there’s mud everywhere. Her ankle twists and she just sits there for a second as she sees Baekhyun call off the search. It’s been hours and everyone’s exhausted.
Kai turns back and starts walking towards Sona, and she’s shook because 1) HE’S HOT AF and 2) his eyes are blue and his hair is white...sound familiar??
Tumblr media
THIS IS THE PERFORMANCE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-VX60sGRjo) THAT STARTED THIS WHOLE STORY IN MY HEAD LOOOOL SUCH A GOOD FANCAM! SUCH A GOOD LOOK! DO YOU SEE THAT CLOVER ON HIS NECK? YUM!
Anyway, he takes off his hat and holds out his hand with a smirk on his face and goes “Did I move enough mountains for you?”
JFKLADHGDKALFJDKSLGHDKALJFDKSL imma punch him
He pulls Sona up off the ground and sees that shes limping and suddenly drops his smirk. She’s like “no, it’s nothing” but ofc Kai has to be heroic and shit so he picks her up and VROOM VROOM they go off in their motorcycle back to the village LOOOOOOOOOOOOL
The whole way back though, they’re silent but for different reasons. Sona is hella sad because she’s sooooo in love with Kai but knows that she’s just drawing out something that’s gonna end badly. She wants to protect her heart, ya know!
Whereas Kai....has different reasons :)
So we get back to Kai’s place and Sona is washing up while Kai just sits on his little settee. When Sona’s done, she tells him to go wash up but he just grunts.
We love grunting. Why? CUZ HE’S BROODING?
WHY IS HE BROODING? DIDN’T THEY JUST SAVE A WHOLE KINGDOM?
Sona is thinking the same thing LOL but Kai directs her to lay down on the settee (isn’t it dirty, Kai??) and props her foot up on a couple pillows.
“Why do you still look like this?” she asks in a whisper, gently fingering through the strands of white on his head.
(a/n: sorry I had to /write/ that part out because it sets the mood a lot but DAMN i wanna barf at my own writing LOL just imagine everything is warm and candlelit, and Kai is attentively catering to Sona while she lounges on the settee)
Kai doesn’t meet her eyes. Just shrugs.
Okkkkkkk so obviously it’s a sensitive topic???
She continues to comb through his hair cuz it’s cute. And because he’s a wittle puppy (see: demon prince from hell), HE BREAKS WHEN SHE SCRATCHES THAT ONE SPOT ON HIS HEAD.
He grabs her wrist and takes deep gulping breaths.
Meanwhile, she holds her breath.
“I was banished from hell for not taking a mate.”
Her brows furrow and she starts to sit up but Kai pins her down with his hands. His blue eyes reflect the fire in the hearth.
“It was during mating season, and everyone was in a frenzy. My father found a girl for me. I remember she was so scared when she was brought into court.”
Kai takes a breath. Sona uses her other hand to stroke his hair, offering whatever comfort she could.
“I couldn’t do it.” He choked on his last syllable. “I couldn’t do such a horrible thing to a little girl who had screamed and cried until her voice was gone. They brought her to me when she barely had any fight left in her.”
Kai put his forehead against Sona’s shoulder. “Mating season meant you lost yourself. You had the hair and eyes of your inner demon, along with its mindset. But I refused to do anything to the poor girl, so I hid her away and sent her to the outskirts of the land.”
Sona let out the breath she didn’t know she was holding. “You did what was right,” she whispered.
He shook his head. “She couldn’t go back to her parents who would sell her again. She didn’t have anywhere to go. I was banished before I could find her again.” His body was shaking with grief. “She could be dead because of me.”
Sona cried for him. Cried for the man that tried to do the right thing and still had everything turn out wrong. Cried for the young girl that had no choice in what was done to her. Cried for the fact that Sona herself could not turn back time and undo all of it.
They stayed like that on the settee—Kai crouching on the rug in front of her—for what seemed like hours.
When he rose, his eyes were bloodshot and glassy.
Sona pushed him toward the tub, insisting he’d feel better after having a wash.
He came out looking ragged still, but cleaner. He took a seat on the ground in front of her again, staring into the fire.
“So it’s mating season for you again?”
He nodded. “It comes every five to seven years. That’s another reason why my father banished me. He needed an heir and I was unwilling to produce one, so he turned to my next brother.”
“You don’t seem...” Sona searched for the word, “animalistic to me.”
Kai shrugged. “I don’t like to let the demon rule me. It’s hard to control my body once instinct takes over.”
“I see.” She stared at the ceiling and fought a blush creeping across her cheeks, trying not to think of all the inappropriate things Kai would do to her if “instinct” had taken over.
Except, he wasn’t letting it, was he? He didn’t want to have sex right now. He didn’t want a mate right now.
Sona tamped down her disappointment and put on a smile, turning her head to look at him. “Well, if—” She bit off her sentence with a squeak when she saw Kai’s blazing blue eyes staring back at her.
His nostrils flared. “Why do I smell your arousal, Sona?”
She opens her mouth but closes it again when he rises above her.
“What are you thinking about?” he asks in a growl.
That just made the ache between her legs even worse. “I-I was just wondering about the demon side of you.”
His eyes glinted and she swore she saw fangs as he cracked a devilish grin. “What would you like to know?”
“Oh, just general stuff.” She waved her hands in the air. “Like what you eat in Hell, how you communicate with other demons, how you—”
He cut her off by pressing the calf of her broken ankle against the back of the settee. “How we mate?” He hiked up her nightgown and grinned at the sight before him. “Keep your bad leg still and I’ll show you.”
Sona almost came just from the hunger in his eyes, but she snapped out of her haze and clamped her hands down between her legs. “No.”
Kai blinked and looked up. “No?”
“No,” she bit out. Her body was so ready, but she couldn’t keep hurting the both of them like this. “I can’t mate with you.”
The fire in Kai’s eyes died as he backed away, still holding onto her leg so it wouldn’t drop forcefully onto the pillows.
Talking felt like pushing lead from her throat. “We can’t do this anymore, Kai. We are torturing ourselves.” She took a deep breath. “You have to know that I love you so much and you are the best person I’ve ever met, but I can’t be the right mate for you.”
A line set between his brows. “Why not?” he bit out.
“Because I can’t be what you need. You need a queen to go with you into Hell and run a whole Hell-dom there. Someone who can bring you back home where you belong, where your powers can flourish.” She couldn’t stop the whimper that followed. “Not a human who holds you back on Earth.”
His thumb stroked her calf, a kindness she didn’t deserve. Her heart was breaking into two and he was still her providing comfort.
Next thing she knew, he was kissing her. Gently on the cheek at first and then slowly grazing her lips.
“Kai,” she whispered between pecks. “Didn’t you hear what I said?”
“Mhmm,” he nodded. “So do you want to be my mate?”
“Kai!” She pushed against his shoulders.
He caught her hand and kissed it. “I heard what you said and I still want you. I want you whether you can come to Hell or not. It doesn’t matter, because I feel at home when I’m with you.”
Sona shook her head through the tears. “That doesn’t make sense.”
He kissed her, hard. “If I left this village, would it still feel like a home to you?”
“Of course not.”
“Would you go back to your kingdom?”
She vehemently shook her head.
“Then where would you go?”
Sona licked her lips. “I...I don’t know.”
“Me neither.” He kissed her again, crawling between her legs. “I would try to find you. I would want to be with you for the rest of my life, if you would have me.”
She wrapped her good leg around his waist. “Then please take me.”
He chuckled and nipped her on the shoulder. “Then promise not to move your bad leg.”
(THEY DO IT)
OK that’s enough /writing/ LOL so they do the dirty and suddenly they’re mated and Sona’s ankle is healed. Why? BECAUSE SHE GOT SOME POWERS FROM HER MAN. And Kai suddenly has a purple aura around him and he can move a couple clouds with just a thought. How? BECAUSE HE GOT POWERS FROM HIS WOMAN.
And they can both transcend into hell cuz she’s no longer human-human, CUZ WHY? CUZ SHE’S GOT A DEMON BABY BAKING INSIDE OF HER MWAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
the end.
Tumblr media
Authors Note: This was originally just a tiny doodle of the twins I did in work cause if I dont zone out Ill go insane. And it quickly spiraled out of control lol. I know almost nobody cares about this besides me but oh well. This is some super cute shit and I dont ccare lolol
Pairing: Goten x Marron
Time Period: ~12 years after the end of Z. Goten and Marron are married. The twins are five years old here
It was a normal spring afternoon on Mt. Paozu. Four o' clock. Just about the time when Goten came home from work at the dojo. He had surprised Marron with an all-expenses paid day off at the spa. Being a stay-at-home mother taking care of two half Saiyan girls was more than a handful to say the least. Sure, she had help, but she needed a day off.
Goku had more than happily offered to be the one spend the entire day with his two little granddaughters to give Marron her free time. Admittedly, he missed the times when Pan was small and he got to do things with her all the time. Now she was a teenager and couldn't be bothered most of the time. He was happy that he had that chance again with Keiko and Akina. And boy did they adore their Grandpa Goku. In some ways, they thought, he was almost as cool as their dad. Almost. Nobody was as cool as their daddy, Akina had exclaimed. Goku only laughed.
In the morning he took them fishing. Then they went into the city for some toy shopping. He played with them all afternoon, and even taught them a new little trick. Goku had the girls so entertained all day that when Marron returned from her spa day it was hard to pull them away from that. Goku just had that way with people, especially kids.
The twins were playing in the grass next to Goku. They had their hair into short pigtails and wore their favorite dresses. Keiko wore blue while Akina wore yellow. Marron tried to tell them not to get their dresses dirty, but telling a five year old not to get dirty was like telling Goku or Goten they had to slow down when eating. Went in one ear and out the other.
Goku sat with them on the grass, cross-legged. He was doing silly voices while playing with their toys to make them laugh when his senses picked up on the approaching energy signal. Goku immediately recognized it as his youngest son. He still couldn't believe Goten was now a grown man with a family of his own. And he couldn't be more proud.
"Someone's comin' to see you." Goku hinted, hiding a grin.
"Is it a dragon?" Keiko asked with a blink, getting a giggle from her sister. She was dead serious, going by the look on the excited blonde's face.
Akina noticed her dad approaching from the sky first. Her blue eyes lit up when she saw her hero, the coolest, strongest, bravest guy ever. "Look it's Daddy!" Her little hand pointed out to him with a wide grin.
Keiko's gaze shot from her new toy she was playing with up into the air. The little blonde smiled and waved both hands high in the air at him. "Hi Daddy!" She shouted out to him.
Goten grinned when he saw how happy his two bundles of joy were to see him. This happened almost every day, and it never got old. He loved his job, but seeing his three girls waiting out for him made it all worth it.
He touched down in front of the house and not a moment sooner, was tackled by two small figures who melted into giggles. He let out an amused 'oof' but stands his ground as they climbed on him
"Welcome home Daddy!"
"I missed you!"
"Me too!"
Marron came outside when she heard the commotion. She smiled at her husband as he hugged the girls. Goten caught her tender gaze and lingered there for a moment, neither saying anything except smiling gently.
Goten kissed both his daughters on the cheek. "How are my girls today? Were you good for grandpa?" Both girls eagerly nodded their responses. "What did you do?"
"I caught a fishy!" Keiko happily said. He was thiiiiiis big!" She held her hands out wide to show the size.
"Me too!" Akina added. "His name is Mr. Fish! He's my friend now!"
Goten laughed. "Well we gotta go visit Mr. Fish then soon, huh? I bet he's lonely out there in that pond."
"Yaaay!" Akina cheered and Keiko clapped.
"What else? I'm sure Grandpa had lots of fun stuff to do!"
Almost on cue, the twins leaped off of Goten and scurried over to where their grandfather was still sitting in the grass a few feet away. They each picked up a small toy and scurried back to Goten.
"Look what Grandpa bought us!" Keiko showed her toy to her father. It was a figure of the Great Saiyaman, helmet and all.
For a children's action figure, it was surprisingly high quality. Gohan would be proud.
"And I got Great Saiyaman 2!" Akina chimed in with equal happy enthusiasm. "She's so pretty!" Again, the figure depicted Videl in hero outfit in remarkable quality. He could even make out her face beneath the helmet's visor. He wasn't even sure if the twins knew their favorite superheros lived two doors down or not but they were so excited he didn't want to risk it.
"They're amazing! Ya know your dad has some pretty cool figures too. Do you remember Mighty Mask? Your mom bought me a figure of him for my birthday when I was a teenager."
Marron blushed. He still remembered that? Of course he did. This was her Goten after all. The same guy who kept their fake marriage proposal from when they were eight. The blonde woman smiled. He still found little ways to make her heart pound like when they were teenagers.
"He's stinky." Keiko's little face scrunched up.
"Yeah. Great Saiyaman is better." Akina added with a pout.
Marron and Goten both broke into laughter at the jab the girl just unsuspectingly took at their father.
Goten patted their heads, still grinning widely before glancing to his dad. "How did you get these?"
Goku shrugged, playing dumb. "I know a guy. Let's just say the hero who saved us all from Cell helped me out. Got the last in stock." He grinned, the teasing tone in his voice when he described Mr. Satan.
Goten smiled. "Thanks, Dad." He then knelt down to his daughters. "Did you tell Grandpa thank you for your present?"
"Mhmm!"
"Yeah!"
The girls eagerly said with little smiles, still clutching their new toys tight.
Goten let the girls play for a minute while he went over to his wife.
"Hey."
"Hey yourself."
He gently touched her cheek and pushed a strand of blonde hair away. "How do you feel?"
"So much better. I really needed that. Thank you so much... I hope it didn't cost you too much."
Goten shook his head. "Anything for you, Mare."
He could just tell just by looking at his wife she looked refreshed. The way her beautiful blue eyes sparkled up at him made the young father smile. Her long blonde hair was tied into a ponytail behind her and she wore a pretty blue sundress. She looked gorgeous.
He brought Marron into a tender hug. She rested her head against his chest and sighed, feeling perfectly content in the soft embrace. It felt so comforting, so welcoming. When Goten kissed the top of her head, Marron's heart did flips like she was sixteen all over again. They leaned in closer for a much-needed welcome home kiss when he felt a little tug on his pant leg. Marron giggled as Goten sighed with a grin.
They both looked down to see little Keiko staring up at her dad with a wide happy grin. Akina was beside her with a similar look.
"Daddy! I almost forgot! Grandpa showed us somethin'!" The little blonde said.
"It's really cool, Daddy! You gotta see!" Akina added, pulling him away from their mother.
Goten raised an eyebrow, grinning as he turned to his father before back down at his daughters. "Oh did he?"
"Yeah! Watch it's cool! I'll show ya!" Keiko exclaimed.
"I wanna show Daddy!" Akina fired back.
"No I wanna!"
"Me!"
"Nuh uh!"
The twins started arguing over who got to show Goten first. Keiko was pouting with her little fists balled up, while Akina was frowning and little tear drops were beginning in her blue eyes. It was admittedly adorable. "Girls, don't fight. You both can show me, okay?"
"Okay!" They chimed in together and then hugged each other as an apology. Like that it was solved.
Keiko scurried a few yards away. "Me first!"
"Be careful, sweetheart!" Marron called.
"I will!" Keiko replied.
"I was talking to your father." Marron said with a laugh, winking at her husband.
Goten grinned widely at his daughter. "Alright, angel. Go ahead. Daddy's ready!"
Keiko looked at her petite hands as if she had to remember what to do. Then it came to her as she smiled. She cupped her hands together.
"Kommy Mommy ha!" Keiko shouted happily when a small blue blast shot from the five year old's hands.
Goten's eyes widened just to see the small Kamehameha hit him right in the face. Marron gasped and covered her mouth to stiffen a laugh. He flewbackward and fell onto his back, pretending to be unconscious.
Little Keiko burst into a fit of giggles and fell over onto the ground.
"Uh oh! Daddy got hit!" Akina's mouth was in a little 'o' shape. She trotted over to her dad and stared at his face. His tongue was out and his limbs spread out in all directions. "Daddy? Are you asleep?" She poked his cheek. "Wake up, Daddy!" She called out again.
Goten poked an eye open and grinned. Akina gasped and tried to get away but it was too late. He captured her. She was screaming with joy as he held her under his arm, unable to escape. "I got your sister. Now it's your turn!"
"Heeelllp! Daddy's got me!" Akina cried out between her giggles. She tried to squirm away but Goten held her tight while continuing to tickle her.
Goten turned to his other daughter. Keiko let out a joyous scream and tried to run away from 'the monster.'
"Oh no you don't little missy. You're next!" He chased the little blonde around until he scooped her up and tickled them both until they finally managed to surrender.
"Now get Mommy!" Akina said, who was currently standing on Goten's shoulders.
"Yeah it's Mommy's turn!" Keiko added from his arms.
Goten smirked and gently put the girls down on the ground. They instantly scurried over to their grandpa and climbed into his lap.
He locked eyes with his wife who gasped. The next thing she knew he was gone. He disappeared without a trace.
Marron blinked and he was behind her. "H-Huh?"
He scooped her up in his arms spun her around and he stole the kiss the girls interrupted earlier.
"Stop it, not in front of the girls~" Marron cooed, playfully pushing him away.
Keiko was giggling into her hands and Akina snickered while pointing at them. "Kissy kissy!"
Chi-Chi came out of the house next door. "Goku, dinner is- oh! What a surprise!" The woman's face lit up at seeing her darling granddaughters happily playing. As soon as they saw Chi-Chi the two ran over to her. "I thought I heard my little girls out here." She hugged them both tight for a bit as the girls laughed.
Goku got up and went over to his wife and the twins. He ruffled their hair and put an arm around Chi-Chi's waist. "Smells great, hun!"
"Mommy does Grandpa have to leave?" Akina frowned.
"Yeah I wanna play with him and Grandma!" Keiko added.
Well Chi-Chi just about melted. She hugged them both tighter as the girls giggled. "Of course not honey, you can stay for dinner as long as you'd like. I made plenty of food!"
"Can we stay Mommy?"
"Please Daddy?"
Marron looked to Goten. "I don't mind."
"Me either. Guess that settles it then. Sure. We'd love to join you."
"YAAAY! I gets to sit near grandma!" Keiko waved her little arms in the air.
"Then I sit near grandpa!" Akina looked to Goku next to her who grinned and gave the little girl a fist bump.
"Let's get you two little squirts cleaned up before dinner, kay?" Goku said. Grinning, he took them both from Chi-Chi and carried them inside as they laughed to themselves.
"Goten honey, if you two ever want a date night, please let us know. I'll be more than happy to take my darling granddaughters for the night."
"Thanks, Mom. We both appreciate that." Goten said and Marron nodded.
Chi-Chi smiled at the young couple before heading back inside, leaving the door open.
Goten took Marron's hand in his and they exchanged a loving look before they followed in for a nice meal with their loved ones.
They were still figuring out being parents, but were on the ride together for the long haul. And they couldn’t be happier with the little life they created together. The four of them.
Note
I like when someone wants someone else to ask him/her so, would you like to answer these questions? I don't like the 'short answers' so you can say anything you want, the questions are: 2/4/9/13/16/21/22/24 especially( 27). :-)
HI! Ok so I knowthese asks were sent like a week ago and I apologies for the late response, butI wanted the answers to be accurate and in depth because you guys took the timeto ask! All of them are in the same post because a lot were duplicates.
So, thanks for asking... here we go!
Thank you again @lightning1999, @argentis and @glowing-coils-of-the-universe
1.    if someone wanted to reallyunderstand you, what would they read, watch, and listen to? So if someone really wanted to understandme and my strange little brain they should probably read my fanfiction. Myfanfics show them my writing style, parts of my personality and my interests.They would of course have to watch the Thunderbirds because I swear it is all Italk about, well that and funny animal videos! I got my dad watching them lol.As to that they would have to listen to… probably everything. Like peopletalking around them, the sounds of birds, cars, electronics. I am a veryobservant person so when I am out in public I pay attention to everything. Itend to notice things others don’t.
2.    have you ever found a writer whothinks just like you? if so, who? I did a while back, sadly I don’t remember theirhandle, the plot was well thought out and detailed, which I enjoy. And I havemet people who think like I do. They see things differently. It is veryinteresting.
3.     list your fandoms and one character from each that you identify with. Well fandoms, guess what’s first!Thunderbirds: Virgil. I feel like I identify with Virgil because he is verycaring and artistic. Which I would like to think I am. He would give anythingfor anyone, he is also very detailed oriented which I am as well. And I love him.
Anotherfandom would be The Flash, and I probably identify with Caitlyn most. She hastwo sides of herself, one side no one really knows, and the other dominant sidewhich everyone is familiar with.
A third fandom is Pacific Rim and I think Iidentify with Mako the most because she is underestimated and sets up tochallenges presented to her. She is very loyal and very a very independent thinker.
My fourth fandom would be MARVEL and I mean thereare so many characters how do I chose? Well if I had to I would choose either CaptainAmerica or Lady Sif. Both underestimated and want to do the right thing. Evenif they are not sure what the right thing is anymore.
4.    do you like your name?  isthere another name you think would fit you better? I do like my name. I find it veryfitting. Although I have always liked the name Mel, not Melody or Melony, justMel. She was a character in Digata Defenders and I loved her when I wasyounger.
5.    do you think of yourself as ahuman being or a human doing? do you identify yourself by the things you do? Kind of confusing but I will tryto answer… I believe for now I am a human being, just because I am young I havenot come to realize how I change and become a doer. I do stand by the things I do,if someone is being rude, I fight back, someone needs help, I help. I don’tbelieve in hiding who you are because you won’t have the full life experience youwant if you always have to hide a part of yourself.
7.    do you care about your ethnicity?I don’treally care, but I do care. I know what background I am, but I don’t know muchabout the history of my people (French and Scottish). I know more about my Scottishside because I Highland Dance, and I know a bit about my French side because I usedto live in Ontario, but to me it is not the ethnicity that makes my familyimportant, it is the people in the family. I actually rarely think about myhistorical background, and I only mention it when it is privy to aconversation.
9.    are you an artist? I would like to think so… Idabble in computer generated art and I try to draw, but mostly I do little claysculpture and tiny meticulous things like robotics. And if writing counts as anart than I am an avid writer and take great pride in my work!
11.  describe your ideal day. An ideal day to the lazy teenager inside me would beto get up and do nothing… but I guess I would wake up late morning, have a hotchocolate, scroll through my feed, email, messages, etc, then I would probably havesome lunch and spend the afternoon doing something with my family. In the eveningI would then do Sculpey (clay) or write or attempt to draw.
13.  inside or outdoors? I do enjoy both. I grew up where in the summer you would go swimming andhiking and in the winter you would ski and snowmobile and go snowshoeing. So Ido enjoy being outside doing things, doesn’t matter what. Although I do likethe idea of sitting inside wrapped in a blanket with a hot drink and a show orfanfic.
15.  five most influential books over your lifetime. Sadly I don’t read that much…but I would have to say Meg Cabot’s School for Teenage Spies series was veryinfluential. It taught me how a young woman could accomplish great things withthe proper training.
Other than that Goodnight Moon, the kids book,still influences me today. When I lived in Ontario my grandmother lived inAlberta, and every night she would phone me and read me this book. Then whenshe was in hospital I read it to her, and she read it to me when I was in thehospital. Even today, because my grandma grew up in a household that didn’treally say ‘I love you’, we say Goodnight Moon whenever we hang up or I leaveher place.
16.  if you’d grown up in a different environment, do you think you’d haveturned out the same? If thisquestion means like nature environment, I think personality wise I would be thesame, but I don’t know if I would enjoy the same things. Like the freshlyfallen snow in the morning or those cold frosted trees, or the heavy rain thatmade you realize how weird and wonderful the world is.
17.  would you say your tumblr is a fair representation of the “real you”? Yes, I can honestly say it doesbecause everyone knows that on Tumblr there are no boundaries. You get toexpress who you are with no shame. Although to be fair I don’t hide who I am onany of my social media sites. You can see by these answers :P
19.  which Harry Potter house would you be in? or are you a muggle? I don’t know Harry Potter but Ihave been called a Hufflepuff? And I just like that name.
21.  do you love easily? I do… I am a very naive person and I am very caring so I tend to investeverything I have into relationships, hoping to keep them alive, only to find outmost of the time the other person doesn’t feel the same way. Relationshipsbeing friend or potential love interest seeing as I have never had a bf. But there are those few who care just as much as I do
22.  list the top five things you spend the most time doing, in order.
1.Daydreaming, by far the thing I spend the most time on.
2. Probablythinking about or doing something pertaining to the Thunderbirds, kind of fitsin with the daydreaming thing.
3. Creating, either writing or sculpting ordrawing.
4. Watchingvideos… I have a lot of spare time on my hands
5. Mostlikely doing something else on my phone.
23.  how often would you want to see your family every year? With my immediate family (mom,dad, grandma) I am very close, so I would want to see them as often aspossible. I see my grandma about once ever week or so but I talk to her a lotmore than that and I would like that to continue if  I ever decide to moveout. :P
25.  could you live as a hermit? If that means alone… probably not for long. I enjoycertain human interaction, so as long as I am with the right people. Other peopleannoy me, most people annoy me… anyway...
27.  do you feel like your outside appearance is a fair representation of the“real you”? Yesbecause I don’t wear certain cloths to fit in, I don’t wear makeup to look overlyattractive and I don’t pretend around people. I dress for practicality and eventsand I don’t change who I am to feed the needs of the people around me. To quotePeggy Carter from Agent Carter, “I know my worth, anyone else’s  opinion doesn’t really matter.”
28.  three songs that you connect with right now. I don’t really feel like Iconnect to music, I just like music. If that makes sense. I don’t feel and emotionalattachment with music other than the odd motivational songs or just reallyupbeat songs. So I guess those songs would be Warriors by Imagine Dragons, WhoDo You Love by Marianas Trench and Waka Waka by Shakira.
A Match made in Heaven 2
This is PART 2
(You can find Part 1 here)
They spend the rest of their evening making a mess of their kitchen, leaving flour and smudges of cookie batter not only all over the room but also all over each other, thanks to some impromptu batter-fights. They end up dirty and giggling, but with two trays of delicious, soft chocolate chip cookies. Since Sam hadn’t stopped begging for it, they used his favorite food coloring on some of them, so five of their once oh so beautiful cookies now are of a venomous looking blue. Sam already ate half of a blue cookie, ignored all of Dean’s protests and made him eat the other half, and is currently putting the rest of them into one of Dean’s tupperboxes for school tomorrow.
  “So, you think she’ll like them, Sammy?” Dean turns his head towards his brother, who is putting the cookie-box into his school bag, while wiping the cookie batter off the kitchen counter with a wet rag.
  “I know she’ll love them! Especially the blue ones,” Sam answers with a cheeky grin.
  “Nonsense, I bet she’s gonna think you’re trying to poison her!” Dean laughs, picks up one of the batter-smeared spoons and wipes it off on Sammy’s cheek.
  “Hey! That’s unfair, I have no weapon to defend myself,” Sam giggles and pretty much tackles his big brother in a hug and rubs his face on Dean, to clean his cheek on the front of Dean’s already ruined shirt. Dean returns the hug with a chuckle and gently pats Sam’s shoulder. “She likes blue, she wears blue stuff all the time! Also, who wouldn’t want to eat blue cookies? Everyone thinks they are super cool – except for you, old man.” With that, a giggling Sam unwraps himself from Dean’s arms and starts sprinting out of the room.
  “Old man? I’ll show you what this old man can still do to you,” Dean shouts, throwing the rag in the general direction of the sink and chasing after his squealing brother through their apartment.
  Once he catches him, Dean heaves Sammy up into the air, gently throws the heavy sasquatch down on their old leather couch and finally starts tickling him mercilessly. It takes some time, because Sam is quite stubborn and hates to give in, but he eventually forces a giggled apology out of his little brother. After a quick glance on the clock, Dean sends him off to take a shower and get ready for bed, though.
  Dean gets back to cleaning the kitchen until it’s time to switch off the lights in Sam’s room and wish him a good night.
    When Sam gets home the following day, he’s all smiles. He definitely exaggerates a bit when he tells Dean how it went with Claire; the girl in his story loved the cookies so much that she practically inhaled the first three of them in five seconds flat, thanked Sammy for them about seven times and asked for the recipe almost twice as often.
  How it actually went down doesn’t matter, to Dean it’s just important that the cookies were a success. And, considering that Sam pretty much beams like the sun for the rest of the day, they definitely were. He and Claire apparently had a long talk and soon found common interests like their love for Star Wars, detective novels and basketball. Their interest in basketball lead to Claire inviting Sam to watch one of her team’s games on Saturday. Sammy is over the moon, especially since she told him that her team has been searching for a new member for quite some time, and that he should consider joining them.
  Sammy couldn’t shut up about how cool it would be to join the team and spend more time with Claire for the rest of the day- he goes on and on about how confident and helpful Claire was today and how nice she treats him.
  So, because he’s an amazing big brother, Dean calls Bobby as soon as Sam’s tucked in for the night to rescheduled their lunch-date with him from Saturday to Sunday. This way, the brothers would be able to watch Claire’s game in two days.
  As much as Dean would like to pretend that he’s doing it out of selfless love for his brother, if he’s being honest, he probably wouldn’t be able to take more than those two days of Sammy constantly talking about Claire and the basketball team. He really isn’t that keen on spending his Saturday afternoon watching sweaty kids play basketball, but this way he at least finally gets to know Claire. And Sammy’s gonna be happy, so he’ll survive it.
   Saturday comes around pretty fast and Dean finds himself in the parking lot of a small school in a tiny village with a fidgety, hyperactive Sam in the passenger seat, way too soon for his liking.
  According to Bobby, who had to deal with Sammy until Dean got home from work, his baby brother had been impatiently running around their apartment the whole day. Apparently, Sam had been distributing wastepaper bins all over their flat to practice his basketball skills by crumpling up paper and trying to throw the paper balls into the bins. The second Dean had entered the house, he’d been bombarded with questions about when they were finally going to leave and see Claire.
  Sam practically jumps out of the Impala as soon as Dean parks the car and shuts off the engine, who in turn has to scramble after his little brother and grab his shoulder to slow him down. Yes, they are in a small village, there probably won’t be a lot of traffic and Sam should be old enough to keep an eye out for any driving cars but they are in a parking lot and Sammy is distracted right now-  Dean won’t risk anything by letting him run off on his own.
  He keeps him by his side until they enter the gym, but lets go of him as soon as a blond girl in a green jersey spots Sam and starts waving him over. With a “That’s Claire, I’m gonna go say hi!” thrown over his shoulder, Sammy takes off and leaves Dean on his own.
  The benches that are framing the wall of the small, like sweat and rubber smelling gym, are quite full already, so Dean takes a seat right between a dad with a beer-belly and a knitting (what the hell?) grandma and watches Sammy interact with Claire. They seem to get along with each other really well and it doesn’t take long until Claire is pulling Sam from player to player by the sleeve of his shirt, apparently introducing him to her team. She’s halfway through her team when their coach, a tall, elder man with dark hair and a grim expression, blows his whistle and the kids gather on the court to start the game. Sam shouts something that sounds like “good luck” in Claire’s direction and comes running back towards Dean.
  Claire’s team, the Green Dragons, as an exasperated Sam had explained to Dean five times over the course of the game, lost. They don’t seem to mind that though, they all still grin and give each other high fives. As soon as the crowd starts thinning, Claire walks over to them and introduces herself to Dean- with a handshake and everything. Dean’s honestly pretty impressed by the small, petite blond girl and her polite way.
  She’s about a head smaller than Sam, but she balances it out quite well with her confident posture and cheerful attitude. Sammy’s been right after all, she seems like a really cool girl.
  “Is it okay if I introduce Sam to my coach? I don’t know if he told you, but our team is in need of a player, and- if you’re okay with it- and Sam really wants to- I’m sure the coach would let him join immediately,” she says and brushes a strand of hair out of her face and behind her ear.
  “Of course! I’ll wait here. Go show off your skills, Sammy,” Dean grins and leans back against the wall. He watches the three of them talk and after Sam has happily shown off his throwing skills, Dean talks to the coach, Rufus Turner, about the organizational details like practice dates, money and so on.
  Seems as if Dean’s going to spend quite some time in this smelly gym after all, probably starting with Sam’s first practice next Wednesday.
                                                  Here’s Part 3
Note: Guess who Dean is going to meet in the smelly gym pretty soon, lol.
little personal life update
So this past weekend was pretty great & a much needed getaway from all the stress that I’ve been feeling ever since my sister & her kids moved in. It kinda ended on a real sour note though...
Now don’t get me wrong I unconditionally love them via familial obligation bonds & all that lol but just having us cramped all together in one small room has been kinda... painful... Especially since I’m now usually stuck sitting on my bed so that the kids have room to move around & play, without being able to practice guitar. I’m also the one walking around gathering food/supplies for them since they’re new to the area & we don’t have a vehicle to transport the kids in with her, & I’m in charge of cleaning most of the time. (Because MY GOD They’re So Messy & Disorganized, The Chaos Has Really Been The Main Source Of My Stress & I Just Want A BJ lol)
This past Thursday after a bunch of planning I was able to catch a Bart up north to get a ride with my friend’s roommate to her place up further north in the Antioch area. On the way there we saw the aftermath of some sort of collision on the highway as there was a car on fire & several emergency vehicles putting it out. After we finally arrived at their place I spent the night helping them & her moms setup for her B-Day party the next day. It was a pretty chill night, we wound up buying a bunch of stuff from Walmart & getting into some of the libations early & playing few rounds of Beer Pong with one of her other friends who came over to spend the night (me & her roommate won both our rounds & we had a few really good double shots in~)
The next day we all helped out moving things around the house & stuff, (had an early Starbucks run & a Scott Pilgrim movie viewing in the afternoon in between). Once people started pouring in, the party was very lively. Not exactly my sort of crowd in regards to the company present but it was a fun night regardless. I had a better time in the back yard when I was helping out with the fire pit & had several people ranting about Naruto off to the side (freakin’ weaboo Ni🅱🅱as XD) After playing some Smash Bros with people I helped clean up & spent another night there.
Then on Saturday first thing in the morning my friend’s roommate put some Dragon Ball Z on & we enjoyed some Cell Games saga eps. I then got a ride to the Bart station booked it to SF & caught a bus up to Sonoma County & attended another friend’s Scandinavian themed holiday party. I got to spend time with a bunch of great people I don’t get to see very often & meeting some other people that I’ve only met through FB in person for the first time which was cool lol At midnight we held a Glögg ritual & I just had a nice time with good company.
Sunday morning I had a nice time enjoying some old-school anime but I had gotten a message from my father telling me that he was on his way to Nicaragua because the mother of my older siblings had passed away. :/ (She had been sick for some time) Despite him saying I should be home for them I felt like it’d be best if I stay away for a little bit, cause I honestly don’t feel like I could do anything to help cheer em up at this moment in time & things just felt really tense, which makes me feel unbearably uncomfortable. I’m not sure if it was fortunate or not in this situation but my other friend who I was planning on visiting (& to go see the new Star Wars movie with) wasn’t feeling well & I wound up going home anyways.
Once I finally got home (after picking up a pizza on the way :P) I took a much needed shower, since I had either not found the right time or been too afraid to ask people if I could use theirs while I was out lol I had started to get pretty self conscious about it as well. XP (Also side note I had THE DRYEST balls, jeebus lmao)
Fortunately my oldest nephew seems unphased with the news of the passing (the younger ones are too young to get the impact of the situation) or maybe that’s cause for concern? but my sister’s pretty upset & been crying a lot. She’s been talking to as many people over the phone as she can to keep up to date with what’s going on with the funeral that’s going to happen but also to keep herself busy I think. I really hope that she’s able to pull through this tough time. :T
This is going to be a bit of a rough but interesting week, as there’s this looming sense of limited time approaching with this other heavy stuff going on. We’re supposed to be moving sometime soon (I don’t know of a confirmed date which is concerning in itself), I don’t know when my father is going to be returning back to the US, I’ve got to fly out to AZ this weekend to help My mother move, & I don’t really trust anyone with my things (since our last move dad wound up not securing one of my dressers properly & it flew out of his truck on the way to our storage unit while I was out of town at the time) So I need to figure out a way to transport all of that before they start hauling things over to our new place of residence.
Honestly if I could just get that BJ I’d feel a little better haha
Big Island Splash, Mash, Dash!
Tumblr media
Belated Aloha, forgive me for taking two weeks to write this!
I thought we had landed on the moon as I descended the plane stairs onto the island of black volcanic rubble. After nine plus hours of flying I had arrived at Triathlon Mecca, Kona, a little town on a wisp of land in the middle of a massive ocean, noisy with wind and hot as hades.
Hawaii is halfway between Sydney and Chicago so provided the perfect location for a rendezvous with my Dad whom I had not seen for over a year. (Aww, thanks for coming and sharing this with me Dad. ×××)
“Downtown” Kona is small and super cute but that week was COMPLETELY overrun with compression-wear trussed, trucker hat clad, slightly weather beaten, uber athletic types. I almost fit right in.
Tumblr media
I was pleased to get up and out of the hype on my first night, having a home cooked meal with my dear friends Ben and Lillian at their B&B located on a flower farm way above Kona. Ben and Lillian are a fab couple I met running in Jersey City. I laughed off their prediction back in 2013 after my first 70.3 that I would one day race at Kona, thinking of course that will never happen because I will NEVER do an Ironman. I was beyond flattered to receive a message from these guys on my return home from IM Texas with my IMWC slot secured, telling me that they had booked their flights to Kona! Just wow.
Tumblr media
At the suggestion of a friend I had signed up for the big charity Underpants run. Yes! Why not? It is for charity, I figured that if I had to endure running along behind ironmen in their tighty whities, well it would be worth it, for the charity of course. I wore a pair of huge granny dacks sporting a kangaroo waving an Aussie flag on the butt and dragged my poor Dad to the start line. He did not run, just observed… (that sounds way more creepy that it really was.) I met up with some friends Mike, a seasoned Kona participant and Jeff a green Kona rookie just like me.
Tumblr media
We had a hoot, Mike and Jeff were happy to be stuck behind the Coeur Team girls, how shallow, I mean really? Post run “analysis” and breakfast at Evolution hit the spot. Oh a tip for Underpants Run rookies I gleaned from post race observation: sweaty tighty whities may leave you exposing a whole lot more than you anticipated.
Simon arrived on the Thursday. We had decided to leave the kids solo in Chicago… just kidding, our friends Alex and Theresa stepped in there. Theresa was so super cute, she called the schools to make sure the boys got there ok, drove the boys to their after school triathlon sessions and gave up their whole weekend too! What a load off our minds, we were so grateful.
I was able to squeeze in some down time. Dad, Simon and I spent Thursday afternoon sitting on the lanai of our apartment sipping a beer, watching the sun go down, taking a million photos and solving the world’s problems. I don't get to chill with my Dad too often, spending time with my Dad like that has left a warm little glow in my heart. It was one of my favorite moments of the trip. (My Dad hates being in photos, but I do manage to snag him in a few pics on this trip.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As amiable and easy going as you all know me to be, I knew I would be prone to a little pre Ironman World Championships fretting. I did not want to expose my loved ones to my potential dragon lady side so I sent Simon and Dad off to explore Volcano National Park on the other side of the Island on Friday. A rather unwelcome visitor arrived on Friday, perhaps the best euphemism I can use is “Aunt Flo”, what a cow, she was not invited and I was not expecting to see her. She threw me in a bit of a spin, but I pulled it together and added dealing with that to my race plan.
I got my race gear together, checked my bike and checked in. What an awesome hype! I had forgotten that I had listed my occupation on the Ironman registration form as “Secret Agent.” As I walked down the red carpet to check in they called me out, “Here is Kelly Phuah, she is competing in the women’s 45-49 age group…” [pause] “she is a secret agent!” Haha, cover blown!
I was welcomed into Transition by my very own volunteer escort, Craig. Craig and his wife,  from Seattle, have been coming to the big Island for the last 10 years to volunteer for IMWC!
Tumblr media
Whaaat!? I know right? Gulp, I felt a little overwhelmed at that moment. I racked my bike, hung my transition bags.  Then I stood for a few moments on the red carpet, I let myself feel special for being there before heading off to eat and find an air conditioner!
I found my friend Mike and we talked race stuff and spectator logistics tips while sipping protein shakes with our feet up. It was the perfect pre race afternoon.
Dinner that night was right down in the middle of all the action at Honu’s, overlooking the athlete area and swim start with Ben, Lillian, Dad and Simon. There was much discussion over the spectator plans and I shared my hopeful race splits to help them know where I would be at certain times. I was worried about how the day was going to be for everyone who had come all that way to watch. I knew it would be a long hot day for them too.
I had to have the Hawaiian Pizza, oh wow, caramelized pineapple and kalua shredded pork, It was awesome!
Tumblr media
I got antsy all of a sudden in the middle of dinner when I realised that I was doing a freaking Ironman the next day. I rushed our farewells with Ben and Lillian and dragged Dad and Simon home. I have no clear memory of going to bed or how I slept, my mind just leaps to Simon and I driving down Alii Drive at 4am!
Race Day
Goal: under 11hrs.
Gosh, how much detail can you handle? Do I make it sound epic and glamorous? I guess if you are reading this then you are either a really good friend or a weird triathlon junkie so I will just give you the ugly truth.
Treading water with 600 other women waiting for the start canon was crazy. Everyone was apologetically kicking each other. I looked back at the crowd on the shore and the pier and let the swell of excitement pick me up. I sighted the 1st boat and wiggled a little closer to the front. The cannon boomed and we turned from polite and apologetic to tiger sharks. I was kicked, swam over and grabbed, I had to restart my watch 3 times because the stop button was kicked. I am quite sure I did my fair share of kicking others too, it was impossible not to. And at one stage I found myself laying completely on top of another athlete, I have no idea where she,came from!
I found my rhythm eventually and was able to start really swimming. By about half way I could feel my speedsuit cutting into my neck and throat as I was sighting and turning to breathe. It left quite a good chafe and I looked like I had been strangled. I snuck a peak at my watch as we made the turn at the boats, I was happy to see I was on schedule for my goal of a sub 70min swim. I was enjoying the water, it was clear and fairly calm. I could see the bottom. I picked out a blue swim cap on the bottom and wondered if it’s owner was down there too. I made the last push to the pier and grabbed the stairs, I ripped off my speed suit with glee and made my way around to T1 on wobbly legs.
1:09:42
I rinsed off my face with some fresh water, grabbed my bag and dove into the tent, and with the help of another volunteer it was suit off, socks on, shoes on, glasses on, food in pocket, loo stop #1 and out to my bike. Helmet on and go go go.
4:44
Yay!! Spotted my posse as I took off on the bike.
Tumblr media
Lol, my Dad showing me the way to go…
Tumblr media
I settled in and got out onto the Queen K thinking ok Kona, show me what you’ve got, bring it, do your worst.
Tumblr media
I had a plan, hold watts for an IF around .68-.69. Yeah, naa, that just did not feel right. I was hot and pushing those watts just felt a little more taxing than it should so I backed off a little and kept a closer eye on my effort than my watts. I guess the wind was kind because even at the lower watts I was still on schedule for a 5:40 bike.
The best tip from Mike, stay wet all day. So at every aid station I was grabbing a cold bottle of water and pouring it all over my body, it was keeping me relatively cool.
I was keeping an eye out for girls in my age group, I passed a few and but noticed as we got closer to the finish that we were all getting a little feisty and not letting each other get too far away.
The climb up to Hawi was the first time that I really felt good, not being familiar with the course had made me a little reserved but when I hit that climb I felt like I just had this one hard bit and I was more than half way. I made the turn for home at the top and launched myself down that descent with a mission. So much fun! I was ticking down the miles and aiming to be out on the run course in under 7hrs and that kept me on the gas all the way back into Kona.
Ugh, triathletes are disgusting, the visor on my helmet was totally aero but also saved me from taking a snot rocket the face. “Dude!!” I shouted as I passed, he looked really sorry, but still, look over your shoulder before you launch. Same goes for the girl taking a wee. Being splashed by someone else's piss is not cool either.
My guts were feeling a little sketchy nearing the end of the bike, I took a couple of Imodium hoping to hold off the horrible tummy cramps etc I seem to be prone to on the run.
I came hurtling down the bike finish chute, eyeballing my volunteer bike catcher, I dismounted like a swan gliding in for a landing on a lake while seamlessly passing my bike to the catcher. They will probably be playing that footage in the Kona highlights, because it was so  freaking pro.
5:38:48
Into T2 in my socks, grabbed by bag, ripping off clothes as I ran, sort of like Superman - until my arms got hopelessly snagged in my super tight bike jersey and I resembled something more like a mad person trying to escape a straightjacket.  Yay for those volunteers. So, shoes on, race belt in hand, loo stop #2 and off on the run.
4:33
Bahaaa, happens every time, my body rejoices for the 1st 2 km and I am lulled into a false sense of, “Oh hell yeah, I am going to be so amazing.” A quick glance at my overall time on my watch had me out on the run course in under 7 hours, yessss. I felt so confident that I was going to make that 11hr goal.  All I had to do was manage a 4 hr marathon. Then at about kilometer 3 it began to suck.  I saw my posse again at around this point, Simon and Ben ran alongside, giving me my position in the field and who was where, at that moment, they could have told me that there was a lion chasing me and it would not have made the bit of difference to my pace.
Tumblr media
I ran on in misery, downing a couple more Imodium for my increasingly cranky gut.  I had been taking salt tabs every hour, I had had mucho electrolytes and fluids on the bike and about 200 cals/hr all tried and tested and to plan.
Anyway, my mood began to shift, the discomfort in my gut was relieved for a little while.  I was given a huge piece of ice at an aid station. I sucked it, rubbed it on my body, down my legs and sides, down my arms and over my face, I bit little pieces off and when it was small enough it put it down my top. (My gosh, that almost sound erotic - it quite possibly was!) By the time I was heading back along Alii Drive and saw my posse again, I was a different girl.
I got down to business, thinking, tidy posture, keep hydrated and wet.  I was sad to see a few girls in my AG glide by but just kept to my own race and reminded myself that a sub 11 hr race was my goal and that racing someone else's game was not smart. There were 2 more loo stops on the run course, the last being out on Energy Lab road with about 16k / 10miles to go.  After that I was feeling much better. I made it up out of the Energy Lab climb and headed for home gritting my teeth to hold on to that 4 hr marathon but intermittently smiling because I totally knew I was going to do it.
I was surprised to see another friend Liz cheering me on as I turned off the Queen K down Palani rd. Eek, that downhill was ugly, ouch, I felt like a robot, horrible form that I just could not fix at that point. I nearly cried when Simon told me I had a mile to go. A mile! Oh just make this OVER! Finally I entered the finish chute with an idiotic grin, feeling emotional, tired and proud. I punched the air 2 times as I crossed the finish line.
3:58:44
Total time: 10:56:31, 16/88 F45-49
So much room for improvement!
Tumblr media
A friend asked me that night if I was keen to do it again, it only took one sleep for that answer to go from no way to yeah, I need another crack at that.
I got to spend another couple of days with Dad before we took off to opposite sides of the earth again. I was glad we got to see the town transform back into the cute little town it is 51 weeks of the year.
Mahalo!
I am surrounded by really hard working and intelligent people, people who inspire me to push myself and to be humble. (Well, I try with the humble bit.) I don't know many people more hard working and intelligent than Simon, he blows me away with his own dedication and humility and I live my life struggling to keep up with him. He is my biggest fan and I would not be doing any of this without his support.
Tumblr media
My race experience was made really special with the support and fun with Ben, Lillian, Dad, Mike, Jeff, Liz and and Simon. Oh guys, thanks a million.
The online messages and texts from my family, my INTENT team mates, and friends were wonderful!! Pre race pep talks from my very good friend Jeff kept me in check. Much love to everyone who was following my race online and cheering along at home
My coach Rick Schopp at INTENT is also one of those inspiring people, I have put myself into painville at his instruction so many times but I am still here, I am still keen and I am getting faster. He has shown me that the pain pays off. Sending me the Urban dictionary definition of whinge when I slightly lost my shit during my second last intense training week leading into Kona was just the kick in the pants I needed.
Tumblr media
(That sounds rough, he may have added a few additional kind words in there too.)
Much love to Alex and Theresa for taking great care of our boys while we were away.
Many thanks to the volunteers who gave their time and to the super cute little town of Kona for letting us take over!
Mahalo xo
Now I count down just a few weeks to Ironman Cozumel before we pack up and make the very exciting move to Denver, Colorado!  Two more years in the USA before we head back to Australia.
Pic credits: Thanks Ben, Lillian and Simon
