Something to be used, played with and then thrown away.
For the first few times Q had played with his capitaine he had thought that his human would be just that to him.
When he had first started their romantic relationship although Picard had refused to acknowledge it as such, he had thought it would be a nice distraction.
A game.
So why was he the one who ended up being thrown away?
The one who was met with 'I have had enough of you' and cold, disinterested eyes?
friendly reminder that Neteyam is a well-adjusted kid who has a good relationship with his parents, that he tries his darnedest to be a good warrior because he genuinely looks up to his dad and wants to be like him, and that the idea that Jake and Neytiri are "forcing" him to be perfect, that they "stole his childhood" or that he's "not allowed" to be a kid, etc. are all pure fanfiction with little to no evidence in canon thanks bye
oh q!tubbo is soooo ignoring the red flags and weirdness bc he just wants to cling to this little bit of normality he has got back. he has seen that the weather is too perfect, the server too calm and quiet, its all off, but he's ignoring it bc he's happy to just have a normal day. even jokingly begging q!bagi to not ruin this perfect normal he has. but he knows something is off, and ultimately asks q!bagi to tell him what she finds, bc he'd rather know that not know.
he just wants one day of peace. even if there is something darker behind it.
ok but the thought of the code actually glitching to break Etoiles armor hits hard though. these monsters are literally made up of code, they can glitch appearances, glitch items - of course they glitched his armor.
besides that, it's an ultimate blow to his character.
he's upheld his expectations as the islands greatest warrior, their defender. with this comes not just that responsibility, but a sort of respect for who/what he's been fighting off. the codes he's grown so used to. if he were to ever lose, he'd expect it to be from exhaustion. from being physically unable to lift himself up and fight anymore, because there would be no other way he would not stand and fight - but he loses without being given a chance to win. the code messes with Etoiles’ own player coding to unnaturally break his armor, giving a dirty death to someone who fights with duty and honor.
it wasn't fair, and that's the entire point, it was never going to be fair. like how they psychologically fucked with him using fake Pomme before, and almost won - this was never a fight to see who could win. it was a fight to ensure that he would lose. he’s reminded of something important - that he can bleed, and he can die.
this island doesn't play fair, and he can't shoulder the weight of the world on his own. a single shield will never be enough to protect a whole village. and now he's lost the actual shield, the one thing he could use to protect them all.
the loss leaves him without protection, both feeling guilty failing as the guardian of the island, and unsatisfied, because how can he say he truly got a chance to beat the challenge? there is no satisfaction in this loss, no way to come to terms with his failure, because it wasn’t done on an even playing field.
it’s hardly a consolation, knowing his loss was unnatural, unfair, because it’s a loss he could not afford. not only did he lose the shield, but he learned that there are moves that are unfair and unnatural that he can’t fight against. how’s he meant to fight something that can influence his own coding, especially without the shield that gave him the chance to fight in the first place? how’s he meant to protect the island, when he can’t protect himself?
Pac: Zuko, and the other one doesn't have a name. Oh, probably she needs a nametag. Mmm, if I had one I would give to her... unfortunately I'm poor...
Fit: Oh, you’re not poor Pac! You know, you’re rich in intelligence, you came up with the cure. Like, you helped find it, so, you’re pretty damn smart as far as I’m concerned.
Pac: Thank you Fit, yeah that’s actually true. I need to have faith in me, you’re right.
like it's really genuinely not the buck show to me but i post about him a lot anyway because as a character he is simply hysterical. refers to himself in terms of 1.0 2.0 etc because he's like hyperaware of his own capacity for change but also doesnt really do anything on purpose he just sort of encounters things. got into the job he's obsessed with and has no friends or hobbies outside of more or less on accident. like it just happened. wound up dating a woman sixteen years older than him because they got crushes on each other over the phone and when he found out she was 42 was like oh nice! i wondered why you always call instead of text but that makes sense. spends six whole seasons not figuring himself out but going 'can it be for the girls the gays and evan? if it's not too much trouble?' hated his best friend slash crush slash situationship for a single day for being hotter and better at everything than him, then became insanely attached and within a year was more or less coparenting with the man. has NOT thought this through. once sued his department to get his job back after a career-altering injury and then after a couple weeks he got the job back and it was never an issue again. kind of figure-obsessed but also doesnt care at all. he believes in ghosts, full-moon madness, and curses. introduced as that one overly reckless guy in the company who disregards the rules for his own daredevil whims and then gets one lecture from his boss and becomes so responsible that he turns into that one overly regulations-conscious guy in the company who walks around with a list of memorized specifications and gets antsy when stuff isn't up to par. i dont even think he has a written character i think it's just oliver getting out there throwing on his best american accent and going to town on it
Listen I like Tim and Steph but I don't go there, however.
Sometimes I remember that one monologue from the Diane of Bojack Horseman when her ex-husband got another girlfriend and think about Steph wondering how did she not have a mental breakdown regarding her and Tim breakup until today.
Because if Red Robin is still cannon and I was her I would have very much a mental breakdown eventually.
Monologue under the cut
"You accidentally see your soon-to-be-ex-husband kiss someone else. At first you think, oh, it's a fing. Whatever. They're drunk. It's a party. But then he puts his hand on the small of her back exactly the way he used to do to you. It means, "I got you." And when he did it to you, it made you feel safe. And you realize he will never do that to you again. And it breaks your heart again. After you thought your heart was so broken that it could never get any more broken. You thought it was safe. But it somehow finds a new way to break. Because even though you're the one who asked for this, now that you've got it you are completely adrift. With no compass, or map"
thinking about chayanne and his “im the older sibling so ive GOT to be the good kid” thing and also his thing about protecting people. so much responsibility for such a small egg if he grows up he’s gonna have SO many problems
If forever fans brushed off every action he does with “he’s just abit silly!!” A lot more people would say it isn’t an excuse, just saying..
LOL Forever's past actions of 5 months ago are repeatedly brought over and over by the most notorious "silly cubitos" stans.
What's funny is that the characters they like are so notorious for getting away with no consequences, have zero enemies or people actually disliking them because they're so "silly". Maybe because they're bored or it doesn't fit their agenda, they keep trying to victimize them to have an excuse to cry about something, to have a "villain" in their story for some reason. And usually that person is always Forever.
Seriously, the amount of Jaiden stans that thought recently that Forever would kidnap (?) and torture (?) her was bigger than you'd like to think.
Forever is also brought over as the villain in Foolish's story over and over again, when these two are super chill and friends with each other. You still have people twisting Forever's words about Leo's sign recently saying how he doesn't give a fuck about Foolish's feelings or Leo's.
God forbid if you tried to use the "silly" excuse for him.
