yeah yeah 50 questions about your rook is great but listen: the real question is how many stray animals would your rook take off the streets if given the option in-game? because in my head lin has brought home every fucked up cat theyâve ever encountered. no they have not considered the ramifications of bringing cats into the fade nor will they
#datv#veilguard#dragon age the veilguard#dragon age#dragon age rook#rook#she speaks#itâs become a problem there are just. stray cats all over the lighthouse#lin has named all of them and somehow finds time to know every single oneâs personality#thereâs a blanket ban on cats in neveâs office because they try to chase the wisps#and get into all of her paperwork#theyâre also banned from the kitchen/pantry bc while i think lucanis would enjoy having them around#(reminds him a bit of treviso)#they will not stop trying to eat all of his ingredients

Tim Drake Accidentally Takes Over the World (and Didnât Think to Mention It)
So, Janet somehow spent decades climbing her way into every government worth a damn, ruling the entire world from behind the scenes. And then, because the universe is apparently wild, she left it all to Tim.
Cut to Tim Drake, the brand-new, completely reluctant secret ruler of the entire planet. And he just⌠never really thought it was worth mentioning?
The Batfam finds out when Bruce stumbles across an encrypted memo traced to a mysterious Gotham office with Timâs name on it.
Bruce, holding up the memo: âTim. Want to explain why this document about, oh, international finance reforms is signed with your encryption key?â
Tim, not even looking up from his laptop: âOh, yeah. That. Janet left me her âglobal influence portfolioâ or whatever. Mostly paperwork.â
The Batfam stares in total shock.
Dick sputters nearly dropping his coffee: "Waitâyouâve been managing world policies?!â
Tim, shrugging, barely paying attention as he emails the president of Germany: âWell, yeah. I figured someone had to keep things running. It's not that big a deal. I mostly just redirect some policies. You know, keep things running smoothly.â
Jason, absolutely cackling: âAre you telling me that little Replacement here is the reason for half the âglobal cooperationâ headlines?â
Tim, scrolling through emails: âThey send me reports; I send suggestions. And honestly, they make it way more dramatic than it is. It's not that hard."
Barbara stares at him, half horrified, half impressed. âHow did we not notice this?â
Tim blinks. âI mean, itâs not like I was actively hiding it. I assumed you guys knew I was⌠kind of managing these things?â
Cue utter disbelief.
Stephanie, laughing too hard to breathe: âTim, do you have world leaders on speed dial?â
Tim, completely unfazed: âOnly the important ones. They text, mostly. Ohâby the way, I mightâve influenced a minor arms control thing last week. Donât worry; itâs all sorted.â
Bruce, looking like heâs two seconds from fainting: âSorted? Tim, we're talking about you having global authority here. People notice these things."
Tim shrugs again as his phone buzzes with notifications. âSure, but itâs not like theyâre going to do anything too crazy. I just suggest stuff, and they listen. Honestly, itâs like herding really powerful, really overdramatic cats.â
Damian, scandalized: âYou mean to tell me, Drake, that youâre manipulating world politics like itâs a game of checkers?â
Tim, still casual: âManipulatingâs a strong word. Like I said, itâs more just nudging things along.â His phone buzzes again. âOh, hang on. France is panicking about their energy policy again.â
The Batfam tries to process the fact that TimâTim, who routinely forgets what day it isâis now, somehow, running the world.
And then his phone buzzes with a message from the UN Security Council.
Tim sighs, glancing down. âOh, great. Looks like theyâre debating nuclear arms again. Be right back.â
Meanwhile, the Batfam is left absolutely speechless, processing the fact that their Timâscrawny, coffee-fueled Timâis apparently one of the most powerful people on the planet. And to him its just another tuesday.
#tim drake#batfam#tim accidentally becomes the most influential person in the world and its not even his fault#janet was totally paranoid ant who knows what and knew she had to get herself involved with any politics she could#somehow this means she ends up becoming some kind of consultant that all the governments go to for any advice#tim just doesn't care because it means more paperwork for him#tim learned everything he knows from janet herself so when she dies they all do what she wrote in her will and go to her son instead#batfam in absolute disbelief#how did none of them realize?!#tbf i dont think its something anyone would realize unless they were out right told#tim drake ruling the world

this description made me realise what one of my favourite MXTX character tropes is: Over-Worked, Under-Appreciated Employee Who Is Not Above Becoming Somewhat Evil About It
#jin guangyao#shang qinghua#sha hualing#ling wen#svsss#tgcf#mdzs#jgy#sqh#shl#i can't get over the descriptions of shl ''the demon raceâs star employee Sha Hualing''#''her current role as an overworked and underpaid employee seems something of a downgrade''#honestly the other three would probably get along relatively well if they could just shove sha hualing into a cupboard somewhere#let them do paperwork and drink tea together in a calm room where no one is bothering them u.u#they're all in fantasy public service and should be allowed to commit a few atrocities. as a treat.#i'm so happy to have finally found an excuse to draw sha hualing i love her design#every other character is wearing upwards of 7 fucking layers - she saw a sexy sexy niche and decided to fill it... or sqh did i guess#i debated putting yin yu in here as well but you know what. even if he works for a ghost king he just really isn't that evil#sorry yin yu once again you just don't quite make the cut#(also he wrecked my composition)#my art

elaborating on a throwaway line in this in which I referenced robin telling one of steddie's daughters to pull a fire alarm
So Robin and Nancy have elected to remain childless. Among other reasons, they love their jobs, and their jobs involve a lot of travel (plus women can still have happy and fulfilling lives without pursuing motherhood, blah blah blah).Â
Despite not wanting children of their own, they do still like kids and love being aunts to Steve and Eddieâs daughters. They make an effort to take them off their dadsâ hands for a day at least once every month or so.
The first time Robin and Nancy take all three girls, Moe is 5, Robbie is 3, and Hazel is about 6 months old. At the time, Moe and Robbie are very into being fancy â tea parties, and dressing up as princesses, and Eddieâs been on a kick of reading to them old books about tragic children â think Secret Garden and A Little Princess â and Moeâs just old enough to start getting into American Girl Dolls and sheâs obsessed with Samantha (âof course she likes the fanciest one the best,â Ed had grumbled about this, âSheâs you to a goddamn T, Stevie.â), so they figured that taking the girls to Bostonâs Museum of Fine Arts (where Robin works as a curatorial chair) would be a good idea, because they could get all dressed up and act like proper ladies.
Secretly, Steve thought they were crazy. He and Eddie are hesitant to even bring the girls to the childrenâs museum these days nevermind a prestigious fine arts museum, but heâs also aware that they tend to behave a hell of a lot better around other people than they do around their dads (also, he and Eddie havenât had a kid-free day together since even before Hazel was born, so he keeps his mouth shut).
It all goes completely smoothly, actually, up until it takes a dramatic downward spiral. They do get very dressed up, and before they head over to the museum, they have brunch at a tea room where Robin flexes the history half of her art history education to tell the girls all about âfancy peopleâ decorum. Then, about halfway through their tour of the museum, three-year-old Robbie points at the one non-art object installed in the wall â a bright red fire alarm â and asks, âWhatâs that say?â
Had Nancy been asked this question, she would have said something like, âThatâs a fire alarm. We only touch fire alarms if thereâs a fire. If there was a fire here, you would pull the handle and it would make a loud noise so everyone knows to get out of the building.â
Unfortunately for the entire museum that Saturday afternoon, Robbie doesnât ask Nancy.
She asks Robin.
And Robin tells her, âIt says âpull.ââ
Nancyâs call to Steve goes something like this:
âHi. Just want to let you know before you see it on the news that your daughter managed to evacuate the entire museum.â
âWhat?â
âRobin told her to do it.â
âPlease elaborate before I have a heart attack.â
#nancy is joking that it would be on the news#unfortunately (fortunately?) that shit is not news-worthy in boston#robinâs boss gets his revenge by making her fill out all the resulting paperwork when she goes in on monday#based on a post i canât link bc the account is deactivated :(#livâs steddie dads verse#steddie dads#steddie#ronance#steve harrington#eddie munson#robin buckley#nancy wheeler

Going buckwild at the way Hilda The Series portrays adulthood and loneliness. Kaisa has no one to go to to ask for help getting the due book back, even though all it would take was someone she could minimally ask to knock on an elderly ladyâs door and ask for a favour; sheâs in the library after hours, is shown to have no allies aside from the woman who raised her and who she lost contact with. Johanna is only ever seen working or caring for Hilda, and her lack of a life aside from those two activities is pointed out by her own daughter when she thinks that this is going so far as to affect their relationship. The bell keeper lives alone in a small cabin on the edge of town, barely within city limits and away from everyone, a house barely even inhabitable and clearly only a place to sleep and eat. He works a solitary job and heâs the only one in the town still working it, meaning heâs probably overworked and forced to pull inhumanly long shifts. Victoria hyperfocused so hard on her projects that whatever friends she had before - and she must have had some from college time at least - lost contact with her, and she never made any other connections in Trolberg, anything that would tie her to the city and itâs inhabitants and make it so it wasnât worth it to live by herself at the top of a hill. Even when that was over, she still chose to isolate herself somewhere abandoned and keep what was essentially another machine sheâd built as her source of company, something she could understand and control instead of an unpredictable human being. Gerda works a job she likes but is shown to be disregarded by the person she works the most around, her abilities and intellect thrown aside for the good of someone she has to bear because of a hierarchy she was forced to accept in order to keep working. Sheâs appreciated by the town, but other than the main characters, we donât see anyone paying her any mind when they donât need something from her.
Meanwhile no kid has ever been alone in Trolberg. The mean kids are a group, the good kids are a group, even the gloomy teenage girls are a group. One of nightmare inducing entities, but a group nonetheless. All children in that world seem to operate on a âno man left behindâ code, looking out for each other even if they arenât exactly fans of one another, helping even grown ups without asking why and working together. And this logic seems to extend to the adults who work around children too; especially the Raven Leader, who we see that through the children works as a vital part of the community and a way through which it comes together.
This isnât very articulate but do you see the point? Do you see how clever that is? That a show about growing up has these themes? You can be magical, kind, strong, intelligent, competent, but none of that will make you truly happy if you donât keep the most important thing from childhood? If you donât keep your friendships, your bonds, something to tie you down to your reality and your community? The adults in the show all made their choices, and itâs okay to want to be alone, we all need it and some more than others (this is coming from someone who needs it a lot), but isolating yourself completely is the one thing that will make growing pains truly painful. Im just so emotional over it. Itâs so subtle and so clever considering the whole Mountain King plot that Hilda is willing to change species because she feels detached from her main relationships and surroundings. I love this show so much.
#Hilda meta#Kaisa isolated herself because of insecurity. Johanna did it because of duty (keeping herself and a daughter afloat seemingly by her own)#the bell keeper did it (apparently) because of a lack of interest#AND being overworked. thatâs so important to mention#actually scratch that. I bet being overworked is the MAIN reason. imagine keeping patrol day and night I wouldnât talk to anyone either#Victoria did it because of passion#Gerda did it unwillingly as a result of the system she was working for#I could mention so many other people too#Tildy doing it because of hopelessness after the two people she loved failed to reach out to her#Abigail because she convinced herself she couldnât go back home#the midnight giant because he made one sole person his whole world and his species had to leave#the trolls because of the consequences of colonialism sparking internal conflict#itâs lonely. lonely all around.#the only group of adults that seem to be doing fine are the elves#which are. you guessed it. a tightly knit community#and paperwork or no paperwork they all work for the well-being of their society as a whole#growing up doesnât have to be lonely. growing up doesnât have to be lonely.#but God it can be. and its something you have to fight against because itâs so easy to get caught in the tide#the more I grow the more things I find in Hilda to relate to#the show seems to age with us this is fantastic#Hilda the series#hilda netflix#johanna hilda#kaisa hilda#Victoria Van gale#the bell keeper hilda

What if Peepers got left behind with the main duo tho (Patreon)
#Doodles#Wander Over Yonder#Wander#Commander Peepers#Sylvia#Dynamics â¨#Technically I have more to this idea but it ended up a bit meandering so y'know how it is lol#One of these days I'll learn how to draw the actual main characters but it's not today lol#That said I am very pleased with how Sylvia turned out in the first panel lol her Snoopy poses always get me bad <3#She may not Like the cutes but she Is the cutes so there âŞ#This is basically just a character swap The Little Guy but also that episode already happened? Idk I'll figure it out as I go lol#The important parts to me were Peepers in a position with no authority and already-established dynamics with these two#Westley growing to trust them is fun and all but Peepers already knows them interpersonally - from fairly early on! The Prisoner et al#He's not in danger - at least with Wander there lol he turns his back and Sylvia rears back and he turns again and Peepers is cowering#Poor lad haha ⪠They'll go off to fight by themselves at some point#Both of them having a proper sparring partner they're not afraid to hurt tho?? This is why their dynamic works honestly lol#But just the thought of him being equal parts defensive and trying to use them for safe haven until Hater comes back to get him lol#Unlike Westley they really can't function without him so they'd make a return trip once they noticed but how long would that take âŞ#So until then he has to get cozy! (Impossible)#But really the thought of no Hater acting as his alarm clock no force to manage no paperwork no schedule - I think it would stress him out#He's a creature of habit! He's lost without his familiar-and-knowns! Waking up to birdsong and bright sunshine is alien and wrong!#Hell even sleeping to crickets and the soft and warm breathing of other bodies - it's all strange and uncomfortable âŤ#Probably gets up in the middle of the night - carefully - to lay a trap that Chekov Gun-style foils him or Hater by the end lol#Anything to settle him! It would take way longer than the Skullship returning to sway his deep-rooted habits hehe

"No one gives us the right - we take it" functions as Lucifer's understanding of economy and commerce To Me.
Like, unless you fill the primordial void with fully sapient aliens, Lucifer either accidentally invented the first economy with the soul trade with Cain or had no idea that demons were going to go around making crossroads deals. But he might just deadass think that if you're powerful enough, you can take things. Money just functions as a measurable powerscale because humans are half-blind little worms even to each other. (If Lucifer knew about Sam and Dean hustling pool and running credit card scams, this fits perfectly inside his economic model - they're vessels, they're powerful. Why don't they take more money, or a few houses?)
All of that is to say that so far, Lucifer thinks it's impossible for him to steal things. Putting gas in his car? The humans put the gas in the ground and he just needs to flip a little switch inside the pump machine. It would only be stealing if he couldn't do that. It's the failed attempt at stealing that's actually a sin.
#lucifer spn#All of this is to say that if Lucifer's head is so muddled that he thinks he's a hunter he'd still be able to get a car and gas without ID#You're trying to sell a weatherburnt 99' Mustang for $1800. An eldritch horror wearing a dadbod tells you to hand him the keys. You do.#You tell yourself later that you were mugged but you never file a police report. You would do Anything for It not to come back.#(Lucifer spends a year relying solely on humans rationalizing the irrational in the aftermath of him telling them to do things.)#(The FBI never investigates why they have a badge and an agent profile that has no paperwork and no one has met)#(The mortician tells himself that the guy he let dissect the dead bodies while snarking at the parts around was Definitely allowed to)#In another fic Lucifer is rebuilding Mary Winchester's brain by possessing her and forgot to give the capitalism back#Mary Winchester has to teach the devil how to dine and dash while trying to mentally consolidate Reagan prices to $11 pancakes
