i have suddenly become obsessed with a theme that HoO established but never proceeded to extrapolate on, which is:

Thinking about Hawkeye and Margaret and how they're two sides of the same coin.

No one's as committed to the job as Hawkeye is, except for Margaret who has about the opposite way of showing it. Margaret could never have become anything other than an Army nurse, Hawkeye could never have become anything other than a doctor; neither of them ever saw another option. Margaret is married to the army. Hawkeye is married to medicine. They search desperately for love but believe they can't be loved back as long as they don't change this fundamental part of themselves. They view themselves as sex objects to some extent but all they want is to be truly seen by someone else and still be welcomed with open arms.

They've despised each other's views but have never truly hated one another because they both have too much respect for that much skill and dedication.

They both feel so much but have such wildly different ways of showing it, you barely see the similarities at first. Margaret guards her emotions so closely she doesn't even notice them herself until everything has already begun to spill out; Hawkeye wears his heart on his sleeve yet he can't be honest about his feelings without making them into a joke. They're terrified all the time and neither ever really show it, Hawkeye's mask is a smile where Margaret's is stoic. Yet when someone has to stay behind under fire or go to the front lines, they're both the first to risk their lives to save a stranger's.

my hot take is that frank is actually the one more nervous about sex and kissing instead of mel.

i think to mel physical intimacy is a skill she has whatever level of proficiency in. and she already gives this to him, by letting him touch her at all, so i think new body parts involved, whatever they may be, are just an expansion on something she already does. (especially if we’re running with taylor dearden saying she’s ace, although this is assuming she’s not also aro, and/or not sex-repulsed, and/or favorable to kissing.) (there’s also a level of her being autistic and therefore having a different relationship with physical touch in general that impacts this, but if anything that lends more credence to her viewing touching other people as a skill that she can practice, and also something she really wants, considering all the high fives.) most importantly though, she knows how to deal with her emotions when they’re overwhelming; she knows how to adequately prepare for them, as evidenced in her whole shift with her lava lamp phone app and savage meditation and ocean sounds.

adhd addict in recovery frank on the other hand, who has to relearn how to self regulate pretty much everything, is WAY more likely to be overwhelmed. kissing mel would have the most complex and intense emotions he’s associated with any kind of physical touch outside of hugging his kids in years. like his marriage obviously isn’t going great, if he’s pulled out a surprise dog and salmon dinner and an addiction to benzos all in one day. so it’s been however long he and abby haven’t been good, plus rehab, plus divorce — or at least separation, legal shit takes a varied amount of time depending on states and kids make shit hard — PLUS however long it takes him and mel to actually acknowledge feelings and do something about it. i think he’d freak the fuck out.

and! he spends the whole evening helping with the code triage in the hopes that robbie will tell him he’s doing good! he BEGS him earlier in the day to tell him that they’re friends. his relationships mean a LOT to him, people liking him means so so so much. so if he’s going to be kissing mel, of all people, who likes him freely and unabashedly and with fervor, who finds joy in the simple fact of his presence, he’s going to want to make it good. and thats soooo much internal pressure.

so i think if anyone is going to need to take shit slow and freak the fuck out a little bit about navigating kissing or sex or any other kinds of physical intimacy with each other for the first time, its messy prettyboy langdon and not our comfortable in her skin savage king.

Doing research into them is interesting. They are associated with youthful innocence, optimism and joy. One message can be "I can't live without you."

Possibly tying into the Buggle, another meaning that caught my eye was about all stages of life. If you caught this addition to my post, analyzing what the torn Buggle page says.

When looking into the meaning of blue primroses specifically, it seems to be trust. This link also interestingly reiterates the primrose's connection to life and rebirth.

Interestingly, primroses in Celtic and Norse folklore are also associated with goddess Freya, faries, and/or portals and gates.

GUYS I THINK THE NEW MCR VIDEO MEANS THE FAN THEORY ABOUT THE DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF FAMOUS LAST WORDS WAS SORTA RIGHT IN A WEIRD AND POSSIBLE LORE RELEVANT WAY!

So one version, I think the one on streaming services ends in a minor key and the music video version ends in a major key, and the theory ive seen based on this was that the patient dies in the one with the minor key but lives in the one in major, and creates this sort of paradox where the patient both lives and dies depending on how you look at it or which version you listen to.

However I think this may have never been just about the patient and is in fact the black parade as a whole, they are now the ones who perished in the fire in the famous last words video (there's a screenshot from it in the new trailer) but at the same time they also are alive.

The black parade is dead and yet people are quoting "long live" the black parade, the video says they are alive, but also (paraphrasing the video) that they're returning to the land in which they met their "untimely end". They seem to be a state in between life and death, they died, they are dead and yet they're still here.

Mcr always has had a bit of a thing for the "living dead", I wonder if that's what the black parade has become. I don't know what this all means but I am very, very excited to find out.

i think my issue with matt and his new therapist gf is that so far it’s not freak4freak. matt and elektra? unholy levels of freak4freak. matt and foggy? to ME freak4freak. matt and karen?? you would think it’s not freak4freak upon a first glance but it very much is. but… i do not believe matt and heather is freak4freak. they just simply aren’t
