Lol yea <3 him and Grace (that’s her name in case nobody besides me knows that lmao) were never really IN LOVE I’d say. Like they love each other, just not romantically really. They both had their reasons for getting together; they both went into their relationship thinking that this is just what they are SUPPOSED to do. August was trying to be “normal” and Grace wanted to make her own family and have a secure home and life (Grace is aromantic/asexual. Obviously she isn’t completely averse to relationships and the rest cus she got married and had a baby lmao)

They are family and they will always be family! They literally have a daughter and a dog and a house together, and it is just too much work to go about legally separating and splitting things, so they are still technically married lol. Grace is a stay at home mom/wife so them splitting would screw her over a bit </3 They are also still together under one roof for their daughter, Bailey, because they really don’t want to change her home life more than it needs to be.

He doesn’t seem like it at first glance, but August is really loving and protective of his family he made, even if it wasn’t created with the best most pure intentions. August cares about his own feelings and life a lot more now than he used to, but his wife and daughter are still his #1 priority and he’ll put them first for a lot of things

i think weird taru is a severely underrated taru!! i’m always very happy to read other ppls interpretations of him but… i suppose i read into his character i bit differently ^^; not a bad thing ofc!! but i try and build a lot of different characteristics into him. i’ve come to have a particular fondness of the CN version itself. i like the way he sounds most in JP (his lil giggles make my heart BURST) but i’d recommend anyone take a peek at the more direct translations of his lines!! genshin, being a Chinese game from a Chinese company, does all of its work in Chinese and then has translations done for all of the lines and reading materials. BUT!! said translations are often made with their own ‘flair’ to appeal slightly further to the intended audience (referring to western here) which sacrifices some of the nuance involved in how the character is portrayed. for taru, the english translation loses a lot of the complexities of his personality that you learn from the way he speaks. you don’t get to see just how strange he is with how ‘easy going’ (?) his speech is in EN. anyways… he’s always a touch ooc with the way i write, as is the nature of aus, so by no means am i the Perfect Taru Stan but i’m absolutely the no. 1 Taru Stan!! no one cares abt him the way i do <33

(ps. i could go on for HOURS abt his character and how his speech effects it but i’ll save that in my mind so i don’t overwhelm everyone…)
