Thinking about how Miles called Julian Jules in âExtreme Measuresâ and Julian didnât even give it a second thought. A name he wouldnât let his parents use, something we never hear Jadzia or Ezri say.
That privilege is reserved for Miles and Miles alone.
#he trusts miles so much#they really do love eachother#i like to think that after a few more years#when him and Ezri inevitably split (bc that whole relationship was built on trauma bonding)#he returns to earth#starts teaching medicine at the academy#and finds his second calling teaching these kids#that he definitely DOES NOT see himself in#and miles and him have lunch#and sometimes it reminds him of another person in another place#and the memory feels like home#ds9#deep space nine#julian bashir#miles oâbrien

ghost as a dad [ simon riley ]
part two | part three
- Never wanted kids, he was so careful not to get you pregnant but with the amount you guys fuck, it was bound to happen.
- Youâre scared when you get that positive test⊠you cry out of fear that youâll have to get rid of the thing you had always wanted.
- It took you a week to gain the courage to tell him, you just left the pregnancy test on the kitchen table and left for work. You wanted to let him sit with it for a few hours.
- When you did return home, he sat on the sofa- elbows to knees looking down at the test. How long had he been like that?
- You waited for him to speak, while you shuffled around with that nauseous feeling bubbling in your stomach.
- It was late in the afternoon so you started chopping some vegetables for dinner, âIâll call the termination clinic in the morningâŠâ Your voice mulled over the slices weighing down on the wooden chopping board.
- Fingers crawled along your waistband as he rested against the sink. âNo. Youâre not.â You rested the knife down.
- âI thought you didnât want kidsâŠ?â Your eyes on the verge of tearing, looking back at him. Your cool, mysterious man⊠finding purchase in those deep dark eyes.
- His bare hands wrapped around you- resting under your shirt. âI canât put you through thaâ,â His light hair tickled while his chin rested on your shoulder, âYouâre the only person Iâd wanna do this with.â
- He was there for the first and second of your pregnancy. Simon held your hair back while you threw up almost every day and he rubbed your back.
- Simon is very careful when having sex with you, but he soon realised that you feel everything 10x as much. And your sex drive is through the roof, heâs never been so needy in his entire life⊠you were so desperate for him and he wanted you just as much.
- Simon gets deployed during your 7th month. He doesnât want to go⊠nearly refuses. Unfortunately he canât do that.
- Youâre stressed after he leaves. But his family takes care of you- he asked for them to.
- When he lands back on British soil, he immediately phones you. You pick up, and the cry of a baby is all he hears before he drops the phone and falls to his knees.
- Heâs crying, actually in tears. âIs Y/N alright, LT?â Of course Soap was the one to see him like that.
- Simon nods, laughing, âIâm a dadâŠâ
- Heâs never driven so fast in his life, and youâre there on the sofa he had been 8 months ago with that test in his hand. This time you cradle a little human in your arms, swaddled like a bundle.
- He drops to his knees once more, ripping his mask off. And your warmth covers him with the little sighs coming from the now awake baby.
- Simon fell in love. He didnât know if he was looking at a son or a daughter.
- You two didnât want to know the gender.
- âSimon Riley⊠meet your daughterâŠâ He melted again, face red and brown eyes bloodshot as he cradled the little one in his arms. Dotting into the identical eyes staring up at him.
- Thatâs when he held her close, head against his chest. âMy little princessâŠâ He hummed so gentle, rocking her slightly.
- He is so girl dad coded. Heâll be so sweet with her and sheâd always come to her dad if anything was wrong
- Your little girl would play with his masks all the time, it never annoyed him- only making him giggle. Telling her to stop so playfully and boyishly, that youâd never seen him so soft-hearted before.
- You most likely have at most two more children after your daughter- maybe one girl and a boy.
- Simon definitely teaches your children self defence from a young age. Safety was everything and he wasnât always around to protect them.
- Heâs there every award ceremony heâs on leave and is the most doting father ever.
- Your childrenâs friends are terrified of him, until they get him talking- then theyâre like âyour dadâs cool.â
Did you want a part 2 of this?
Part Two is posted!

Teen Dad
Quite surprised thereâs not a lot of these AUs considering how much Steve apparently sleeps around but anywho.
Teen Dad Steve who finds out one of the girls heâd slept with pre-Nancy is pregnant and he damn well intends on helping out however he can.
Turns out; helping means taking his son (his SON) and having full custody because the mom, no matter how much she wants to be involved, canât take care of him.
Steveâs alright for the first 6 months of little Louie Harringtonâs life.
But then his parents come home and shit hits the fan.
Whichâ fair enough. He was only 17 and already had a whole ass son, they were gonna freak out.
But kicking him AND aforementioned son out? With no where to go? No money? Barely a job?
Thatâs just fucked up.
But Steve makes do, and lives out of his car for no more than a month before finally landing his hands on a cheap trailer in Forest Hills.
He and Louie move in and sure, itâs rough. But heâs got a nice paying job at the Diner and yeah maybe he has to skip some classes to get extra money but itâs fine. It pays his bills and rent and thatâs all that really matters.
Itâs fine.
And then the second wave of Upside Down fuckery hits, and Steveâs suddenly in the hospital with a grade 4 concussion (whatever that means) and his top priority is to make sure someone is with Louie.
Enter Claudia Henderson, Dustinâs mom.
She takes care of Louie for as long as Steve is in the hospital and then some when Steve canât be left unsupervised in case his head worsens.
And thatâs how the Party is introduced to little Louie (as they all call him).
Steveâs stunned to find out that Mike and Lucas are so good with little kids, but the two of them love stopping by the Hendersonâs (and later on the trailer) to see little Louie and offer to babysit for him whenever.
The other kids take a little bit of time to warm up to Louie (and the fact that Steveâs actually a parent) but when they do Steve never ceases to have at least one of them over.
And with all the racket brings in the attention of nosy neighbors.
Steve is well accustomed to nosy neighbors. Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln next door to his parents were always looking to snitch on him for something or other.
But Miss Bottomette and her grandchildren Noah and Casey were sweethearts. Steve didnât mind having them over for dinner or going over there. Miss Bottomette was the one to teach him how to actually put his cooking skills to work.
Linda and Tom, a newly married couple down the road, were quite eccentric but thatâs what made them charming. Steve found their dog, Dasher, quite the sweetheart.
And even Mr. Knowles, the grouchy old man next door to Miss Bottomette, seemed to take a liking to Steve and Louie.
It wasnât long before the story behind the new boy in 2718 New Bird Ave was revealed: Teen Dad Kicked Out.
Then the whole town knew. And while most people were nice about it, even supportive of how he had taken a step into his childâs life, there were always those people who sneered.
Steve ignored them, loving the life he was working on making for himself and Louie in the trailer park.
The only neighbors he never seemed to meet, despite the looming presence, were the Munsons, right across the street.
Steve knew about the Munsons. Wellâ he knew about Eddie Munson; drug dealer who was on his second run of senior year. Steve actually shared a few classes with him.
Heâd yet to meet the mysterious Wayne Munson, but that was to be expected with work schedules.
And then Steve was graduating, and his parents didnât show up.
But that was totally fine. Cause the kids, Claudia, Joyceâ even Hopper with Elâ were there. They held up little baby Louie while Steve walked the stage.
Heâd heard rumors of Eddie Munson having to retake senior year for a third timeâ but he didnât dwell on it for too long. Because sure, he missed more than his fair share of classes and scraped by with a C+ average.
But he did it.
And then summer hit, Dustin left for camp, and the mall opened up.
Steve picked up a job at Scoops Ahoy, cutting back on his hours at the Diner but still staying there because the money was needed and the tips were lovely.
And he meets Robin Buckley, and actually talks to Eddie Munson every once in a while when he stops in with his band, and lets the kids sneak into the movies because heâll be damned if he robs them of a normal summer.
And then Dustin comes back and their reunion is short-lived because Russians are hellbent on torching non-existent information out of Steve and heâs busy getting his third concussion and then thereâs a fucking flesh monster and Billy and Hopper for protecting them andâ
Itâs not a good night.
But then heâs rushed to the hospital and he tries to call Miss Bottomette only for the call to refuse to go through and shitfuckgoddammit.
Because what about Louie?
Miss Bottomette said sheâd be alright watching Louie until Steve got home, but Steve wasnât able to go home until someone was able to make time to take him home.
Usually, heâd lean on Hopper for this stuff, since his parents were out of the question. Butâ
But Hoppers dead.
So heâs stuck at the hospital for another day or two until finally, Claudia comes to pick him up.
Heâs with Dustin in the backseat of the car, anxiously bouncing his leg and biting at his fingers and nails until Dustin gives in and just holds his hand. Robinâs there to, having been able to leave after the first night but coming with Claudia to pick him up. Steveâs relieved to have them both close by, even if his hands reach for Erica subconsciously.
His trailerâs empty when he gets home, and Miss Bottomette isnât answering the door.
Steveâs on the brink of a full blown breakdown before Mr. Knowlesâ bless his heartâ points them across the street.
The Munsons apparently have his son and have for a bit now since Miss Bottomette had a minor seizure and couldnât be left alone with Louie. Mr. Knowles assured Steve that she and the kids were fine and staying with him for the moment.
Steve wasted no time afterwards sprinting to the Munsons and knocking on the door. Dustin and Robin are close behind him, Claudia waiting patiently in the driveway.
The door is answered by a gruff looking old man thatâs taller than Dustin but slightly shorter than both Robin and Steve.
âYou Harrington?â
Steve nods so fast he faintly wonders if thatâs how bobble heads feels.
Theyâre let in in no time and the old manâ the infamous Wayne Munsonâ calls out of Eddie.
Eddie Munson emerges a moment later with little Louie in his arms, bouncing softly on his feet to keep the baby calm.
Steve is in front of him in a second, scooping Louie gently out of his arms and into his own.
He doesnât realize heâs crying until Dustinâs rubbing his arms and Robin his back. Claudia is talking to Wayne, explaining what had happened (or the cover story version at least) and Eddie is hanging back a few feet from the three of them.
Robin takes little Louie in her arms and shoos Steve to the couch to calm down.
âLet him meet his auntie, Steve. You take a minute to breathe now, yeah?â
Steve was led to the couch with a soft hand on his shoulder from Eddie Munson, and they sat side by side while Steve worked on easing his breathing and to stop fucking crying.
Eddieâs shushing him and after a moment (and a clearly pointed cleared throat from Robin) Eddie wraps his arms around Steveâs shaking figure.
They leave the Munsonsâ trailer is promises of new babysitters and a new friendship.
And then the fuckery thatâs 1986 happens.
.

~YANDERE LUKA X READER~
(this story may have changes soooo yeah but in the future I'll edit it to make it as perfect if I can )
WARNING: yandere, toxic relationship, read at your own risk, sexual assault,I need to touch grass and prey to god after this, noncon, weird siblings love(Luka isn't obsessed with hyuna in this story), if there other that I didn't contain please let me know
The first thing you ever see and remember is luka , he's always been there whenever you sad or happy he's always been there. Thankfully you both are taken in by an alien that wants you both to start calling him father , but to you as long as luka is there you'll feel safe.
Since the start you have always seen him as your brother he even knows about that, but perhaps he saw in a different way . you can even say he took advantage of you for being dumb and naive
Both of you are artificially bred but the end result came out quite differently especially health problems are the complete you are considered healthy perhaps even have a stronger immune system than others, while your brother is the opposite since he has asthma, and chronic migraines already.
before you both were send to Anakt Garden you both gown up with robots trying to teach and take care of both of you but the ways of it are scary and it is too much of a business that they would even care on how you smile and how you laugh .
But there are quite a few similarities between you both hate paparazzi like you guys like eating, sucking, and biting on things to satisfy you both hunger you both gown up with huge appetites as well and cause your father to worry about it and he starts giving us less food which to this day you curious that how you habits have begun.
Sometimes you both wanted to pass the time faster you both would cuddle but just cuddling tho there would be biting and touching at least your body wasn't comfortable with it but luka told you to just brush it off and you'll get used to it. this would only happened in private not waiting father or even anybody to find out about this just between you too. slowly the cuddle went from biting to kissing to even touching at weird spots but like luka said" just blush it off you'll get used to it after all you don't to make me upset do you ,dear ?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After that, you both were then sent to Anakt Garden father said it's the first step of your career you both are scared at first but at least you both got each other right? well luka health is kinda slowly getting worse there , and the other children's there kinda treat luka poorly because of his health but you always protect him by chasing the others away.
Not only that father give both of you guys top professionals to keep us well educated and healthy.
Time goes by in a blur, and with every passing day, you can feel the pressure of the competition looming over you both.The training is intensive and harsh, involving physical and mental conditioning to create the perfect idols. But they did have a playtime even so the daily routine consists of rigorous practice and training .
one day,while watching the other kids playing on the other side you and luka were playing with cube and seeing who can do it faster.two person came up to you both when you both look up they smile back and introduced themself" hello my name is hyuna and my younger brother is hyun woo do you guys want to be our friends and play?"
you look at luka waiting for him to make a decision he nod and your really happy about it cause you rarely see siblings and plus their very friendly not only that turns out that hyun woo is the same age as you while hyuna is the second oldest and luka the oldest.
After that day you guys would often hang out together you even started quit seeing them as part as your siblings because of how caring, kindful, and protective they are.
And slowly you start gaining feelings for hyun woo not just any feelings but a really special one even more special than luka and you.Hyun woo would often make a bouquet of flowers or flower head crowns just for you , he would also care for you talk to you a lot, and entertain you which you really enjoy. he would even help you to practice your vocals so that you wouldn't mess up in case and just overall a happy ball full of fun. and perhaps you can even say that you enjoy hyun woo accompany more then luka ones but maybe luka have caught on to you and hyun woo relationships.
About a year later of this at one day, after playing around you guys have gotten tried and decide to rest well hyuna go get some water you and hyun woo decide to lay down together perhaps even call it as a cuddle? Slowly you dive into sleep.
The next thing you knew when you woke up was you hear fighting??? you git confuse and rub your eyes and got up seeing what's going on.turn out it was luka and hyun fighting they rarelt fight even if they did it's usually luka who wanted to find trouble or he just didn't know about it but this fight is not like others it not playful it's like luka actually trying to hit hyun woo before you can fully process what to do luka use all his might and push hyun woo on the group causing him to accidently hit a rock.
Seeing that you instantly push luka causing him to fall on the ground when you turn around to check if hyun woo is okay but you notice his head is b-bleeee-bleeding , him not moving at all not even an inch
Hyuna came into the scene as well screaming" What's going on here and-...Hyun woo-"she stood there speed looking dumbfounded then robots and alien staff came in while hyuna was trying to leave his brother alone you turned around to your brother about to scream at him for what he did but you notice that he's hand is c-changing color-? it's was supposed to be- no not never purple you kneel against him confused picking up his finger and touching it not understanding what's going on why is so many things happening at once
You finally spoken out "luka why...?"
Hyuna kicked and screamed at all her might to put down her brother but the robots just pushed her away and the alien staff held her back she was madly crying. you wanted to go comfort her but when you were about to move luka held you tight "Don't leave me yet I'm not feeling well, sister" he said as he hold you tightly.
Ever since that day, hyuna has grown to have a negative sentiment to luka but even you can't blame her for what she has to be.
One peaceful night well sleeping, you got woken up by hyuna shacking your body trying to silently wake you up"(y/n) Follow me now" she whispered into your ear
'"Where are we going?"
"We're going to escape from this place from our owners and from this living hell, now come on we don't have much time left"
She then pulls your hand out of bed and starts running. You have so many questions in your head but before you can ask any question hyuna pulls you down onto the ground hiding from cameras and security "(y/n) , you may be confused right now but I'll explain to you when we both get out of here please escape with me you're the only person I trusted even after the incident. But please wake up there are many dark secret about this place and the future career all you have to do is just follow me and run across the field climb up a gate and get out"
Part of you wanted to listen to hyuna and escape this living hell and owners of a place but half of you wanted to stay with your older brother and is afraid that luka would be weak and may be left out .....
In the end you choose to escape for your own good for your own freedom and rights. You nod to hyuna who's smile at you and nod back understanding
You both slowly craw out of your hiding spot till one of you got caught by the camera and robots . you both run you tried keeping up to her speed . the alarms were to on alarming the others that the children's are escaping .
Some robots even try shooting you guys down but it can't . Hyuna begin to climb the gate to escape while screaming"(y/n) you can do this just trust me!"
Half way there you feel a strong pull at your leg and caused you to slip down and hit your head on the gate and the ground before you pass out from the pain you ever last encountered with her just looking down at you from the top with her sad and hopeless expression before she keeps going
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you woke up you woke up your realized that you were not in the Anakt Garden bed you were in your home bed with luka on the side hugging you. You were curious and confused and eve scared that father would punish you. When trying to move you feel a sharp pain causing you to moan uncomfortable causing luka to wake up"Finally you woke up dear after a few days without you feel horrible but it's fine our owner has taken us back to home"
Hearing that makes you remember what happened you feel like you are disappointed in yourself you feel horrible for letting yourself down why are you so stupid there is nothing you can do but shed tears hugging your brother.
~Timeskip many years later~
You were sitting on the bed waiting for Luka to return from round 5 you both may be singers but never in the same stage or competition for both of your sake. Your competition was over with you winning and nothing surprising from what has happened multiple times in the past. But how do they manage to hold different competitions and different members at once.
Then you hear the door open, luka enters with his face injury and black eyes it's not your first time seeing this but every time you do it reminds you of the past...
Luka sat on the couch waiting for you to grab equipment to help with his injury. when you did he pulled you to sit on his lap "You're the only thing I want your life is mine and need I miss spending time with you like in the old days....why don't we cuddle again like how we used to maybe more intense now since you gown up right now a baby anymore..." he chuckles cupping your cheek
there hasn't been an ending yet sooon I came up with my own for now and maybe in the future I'll edit it better bc I only have one week left before my fucking important ass exam(please pray for me) .But I just fell into the fandom bc of the edit it's so good man and I'll also try understanding the concept alright I know this is really mess up but still...anyways thanks for reading

yeah yeah Simon Riley with an equally badass partner sounds great but-
pre-k teacher?
Simon swore he had never seen something so...perfect in his life, and he had seen something pretty amazing things for all of the horrible things
Simon who is pretty certain he isn't good for you, after all he towers over you and whenever he does come by to help Price with a bake sale the kids stare up at him as if he's quite literally...a ghost
Simon and all of his scariness that melted away when you smiled up at him, a sweet thank you on your lips as you took the box to help clean out your classroom for the summer
Simon who told price he would find a way home on his own so he could stay to help you get all of the decoration down from the walls and get everything packed away
Simon who would snatch something he deemed too heavy with a hoarse, 'I gotchit, luv' not even realizing the pet name slipped out because it felt so...natural
Simon even though he tried to make your son sit on the small patch of carpet and keep him entertained with his book- he ended up becoming a playgym and babysitter while you did most of the heavy lifting
Simon who found your son to actually be pretty neat, unlike a lot of other children, telling the kid very censored versions of his time in the war as the little guy sat atop of his shoulders
Simon tried to very politely decline the dinner invitation (plus ride home) once the room was all packed up but gave in when you aptly took his hand and began to drag him to your car
Simon sat in the passenger seat as you apologized for the toy car that lay in the seat as you buckled your son into his car seat, smiling at the small photo that sat snug on the car screen
Simon encouraged the boys to sing along to the obscure children's song while you scolded him for it in the form of a light pat on the leg as you drove to the nearest child friendly restaurant (chick-fil-a or something along those lines)
Simon who paid for the dinner against your many denials and used it as the perfect excuse to hold your hand as he tapped the card against the reader
Simon who watched in wonder as you helped your son get his little boots untied so he could go play in the play area, your delicate hands and smile upon your perfect face...
Simon listened intently to everything you rambled about, from the happiness of teaching and why you chose it to your son and how he was the greatest blessing in disguise you had been given- funny, because he thought that about you
Simon when he heard that you would have to find a nanny for your son for over the summer since you'll need a second job wouldn't let that be for even a millionth of a second
''ll watch 'em, luv."
"Simon, that's so kind bu-"
"No buts, like the lil' guy, no problem."
Simon who does like the little boy you call your son, but who was mainly using the free babysitting as a reason to see you
Like it?? Part two is right Here!

đđđđđđđđ!! đ« đ. đđđđđđïżŒ
đđđđđđđđ;
student/teacher relationships,
facefucking, age gap, pred reader,
manipulation and blackmail, top reader,
hehim amab reader, general dark content.
đđ đđđ đ đđđđđđđ.
it was a fucking mistake.
that was all aizawa could think of as he shakily knelt on the shiny white tiles that floored his office. sure, it was a mistake, but it was one he could actually feel. and best of all? it felt good.
a hazy night dancing with coworkers and a few too many drinks. terrible decisions, and groaning into the crook of someone's neck. a blurry face, and the hard imprint of a cock rutting against his back. he could hardly see anything, let alone remember. bright white and a loud, shuddering orgasm. he could've sworn he was floating.
however, his fun was promptly put to an end when he was met with one of his third-year students sitting lazily at the desk chair in his office the following morning.
"[ name ].", he warned.
you smiled. what you were so giddy about, aizawa wasn't in a hurry to find out. you were usually a quiet, mild-tempered kid who remained comfortably around his friends, and never behaved outside the norm of the average student.
he watched, puzzled, as you ignored his call and rested your legs on top of his desk.
so what was up with this brazen display of confidence?
"i don't think you understand the situation you're in, teach.", you chuckled and pulled your phone from your pocket. that fateful day, he was too wasted to recognize you and you were too hornyâ sorry, ambitious to reject this shining opportunity right in front of you. you turned the screen so that aizawa could see its contents clearly.
his heart dropped.
it was him, sprawled out on pure white sheets. his eyes were half-lidded and hair disheveled as he was fucked on camera. he looked like a mess. he hardly even had the sense to cover his face while the flash raked over his entire body.
you waved the phone around, watching aizawa's eyes follow it with a gaze of pure resentment. "sleeping with a student, mr. aizawa? gee, that's terrible. you could lose your job over something like that, you know?", you hummed, voice light and teasing.
aizawa opened his mouth, but nothing came out.
you continued, "it's alright though, i have no intention of telling. as long as you do me a teensy favor..." you gestured for him to come close and aizawa knew he had no choice. aizawa grit his teeth as you stood, now face to face with him.
"on your knees."
which brought him to now.
aizawa stared down at the floor when the familiar jingle of metal scraped at his ears. then, the rapid clinking sound of a zipper. a pool of dread filled his stomach. a long pause during which he didn't dare to look up.
two light slaps against aizawa's cheek. you were already hard. he couldn't miss the distinctive feeling of veins pulsing against his skin.
"open wide.", you singsonged, pressing your tip to aizawa's lips.
reluctantly, he did, and immediately wished he hadn't as you gagged him on his cock. you didn't waste a second setting a brutal pace. you gripped him harshly by the hair, groaning something about how sexy he was. but aizawa couldn't hear you over his own rhythmic choking. aizawa desperately grasped at your thighs.
"ghkâ", his back was arching, body trying to struggle against your hold. his eyes were burning.
globs of saliva and pre streamed down his chin and splattered onto the floor. you fucked his throat pliant; aizawa could feel every trace and curve of your cock in his brain. you looked down at him and, god, that almost threw you over the edge. his eyes were sparkling and wet with tearful shame. he no longer had energy to glare at you. not like it would do anything anyway, with your thick dick down his gullet. stray hairs stuck to his face which framed it like a pornographic painting. aizawa kneaded the back of your thighs in a wordless plea. that only drove you further into your descent to orgasm.
he thought that he'd surely die at a particularly rough snap of your hips. you had tangled more of his hair into your grip, like a ponytail, and were punching the back of his throat. aizawa whined loudly.
"shit, you feel so good. 'm gonna cum."
you were rolling your hips now, instead of thrusting like before. aizawa thought that was worse. he was forced down to your hilt where he would stay for what felt like hours, gagging and swallowing around your cock while you humped impossibly deep into his skull.
you couldn't think of anything else except the feeling of his throat tightening around you. damn, he was addictive. you leaned over him further restricting his movements. there's a strangled noise from under you.
'it's almost over', he thought, but 'almost' didn't seem like 'almost' anymore as you began an onslaught more viscous than the last. aizawa found himself fading in and out of consciousness, his vision light and blurring.Â
one last snap of your hips and you were buried deep into him. he felt your seed scorching his already-sore throat. you pulled away, absolutely relishing in the mess you made of shota aizawa.
a thick layer of fluids coated his face and dripped down the front of his longsleeve. while he coughed and spluttered for air, you felt oddly endeared to him. you gently massaged your hands through his hair.
"i'll see you later, teach.", you said sweetly.
again, the rustling of clothes followed by that metallic 'zzzip'. your sturdy hands left him and aizawa swallowed thickly. he was sure he looked terrible. he did his best to wipe away the worst of it with his sleeves. the fabric felt like knives dragging across his raw skin. he let out a deep sigh upon hearing your descending footsteps and the door slam shut.
he noted his next class starting in a few hours and grimaced. he'd have to hurry and clean up if he wanted to make it in time. beforehand, thoughâ he looked down at the crotch of his pants that were dark and sticky with cumâ he had a situation to deal with.
âshit.â

you and rafe are together and have a baby daughter. one day, rafe decides to take her out on a ride. it's nothing serious, just a cruise down kildare, passing the docks, the mangroves, and the marsh. she's giggling on his lap, excited by the wind whipping against her cheeks, the speed that races adrenaline through her young veins, and the time she gets to spend with dad.
that's when you notice your daughter missing. from her crib, just before naptime. you search your entire houseâthinking she learned how to magically escape her cribâbefore dialling rafe in panic.
"relax," rafe says, having pulled over to a stop on the side of the road. he's coaxing his daughter, running his thumb across her cheeks, as she's giggling, her small grabby hands reaching for rafe's helmet. "she's fine. she's with me."
"with you?" you repeat, brows furrowed. "where did you go?"
"just took a drive down the road."
"on your bike?" you punctuate your sentence with that harsh bite, the one that signals rafe there's going to be hell if things don't turn out your way. "rafe. if you don't get back here in ten minutes, i'm going to kill you."
"relax," he repeats, but twists his throttle, readying for deployment. "it's just a ride. she's safe."
"nine minutes and forty-seven seconds," you warn, before ending the call. rafe groans. pocketing his phone, he straps his daughter securely on his chest, twists his wheels, and returns to the road.
eight minutes and twenty-three seconds later, rafe enters the house where you came rushing down the hallway to grab your daughter from rafe's arms. she's been a little fussy because of the speed rafe was ridingâwhat? he wanted to make it back on timeâand her cheeks are flush with the north carolinan winds, while her little fingers reach out to you, babbling mama.
"aw, does my baby miss me?" you take your daughter from rafe, cooing her in your arms as you pinch her cheeks and she giggles from the gesture. all previous attitudes abandoned. "did daddy take you without mommy's permission?"
rafe sighs, rolling his eyes as he sets his helmet down. "she's my daughter too."
"bite me," you throw over your shoulders, eyes narrowed in rafe's direction, before returning your focus back to your daughter. your eyes soften, filled with warmth and love.
"always so aggressive," rafe teases, unloading from his shoes at the foot of the foyer before closing the distance and stepping behind you. his hand glides over the slope of your shoulders, observing the interaction between you and your daughter.
"you're the one that married me," you retort under your breath, not letting your daughter hear her parents arguingâwell, more so, bickering, as you usually do.
"and i question it everyday."
that comment earns him a slap on the chest, and your daughter catches the act. but instead of finding worry for her dad, she bursts into a fit of giggles, finding entertainment from the interaction.
"look what you're teaching her," rafe points out, pretending to rub the spot you hit.
"she's enjoying it," you say, bouncing her on your hips. "she knows mommy's always right, and daddy has to pay the consequences. don't you, baby?" you direct the last question to your daughter, dropping your tone into a playful voice and tickling her stomach. she beams, squarming in your grip, and her eyes crinkle with joy and laughter that reminds rafe so much of you.
when she starts to subside, her lashes fluttering close as her naptime nears, you rock your daughter steadily as you move to her room, settling her down on her crib, before exiting.
turning to rafe, you declare. "tell me next time before you kidnap her."
always so dramatic, rafe rolls his eyes again. "you can't kidnap your own kid."
"she's my baby."
"she's ours,"
"no."
rafe laughs at how insistent you are with this notion. but he decides to let it go. let you win. it's better than fighting an uphill battle, and plus, isn't that what marriage is all about?
"alright." he steps closer, planting a kiss on your forehead. "she's yours."
your heart awes. all defense falling from the tender gesture. tipping your chin skyward, meeting rafe's stare, you whisper, "ours."
and rafe laughs again, throwing his arms around you, pulling you flush against his chest. "can't fucking win any arguments with you, can i?"
ur right, i lowkey like this format too @my-fabulousness-has-arrived

â© â§âË â© iâm afraid thatâs just the way the world works (but i think that it could work for you and me)
synopsis. suguru stumbles across two girls that need a home. somehow, one step at a time, you both find yourselves navigating parenthood
word count. 5.4k (sigh...this was supposed to be a drabble)
contents. not canon compliant at allâthere are still curses, but it's literally an au where everything turns out happy LMAO, teacher! suguru, husband! suguru, fem! reader, reader is referred to as "wife" and "mommy," hints at child neglect/abuse (nanako and mimiko's backstory), yuji, nobara and megumi are the ones that save nanako and mimikoâthe timeline is inaccurate bc the twins are still kids when megumi and co. are teens, single dad! satoru who raised megs and tsumiki (tsumiki is ALIVE and NOT CURSED) <3, it's just fluff tbh, it's overall healing and happy i promise
notes. yeah i am telling u i literally shoved every fix-it fic idea for jjk into one fic okay and u will all nod along and agree with it. this was supposed to be a drabble but i literally just could not shut up so now its a fic
âthere are these two girls,â suguru says quietly at dinner one night, pulling you from the comfortable silence. you look up as you swallow, eyeing him as you nod carefullyânothing is ever a normal conversation when your husband is a jujutsu teacher. nothing is ever a normal conversation when youâre capable of jujutsu in general, youâve learned that well by now.
âokayâŠâ you say slowly, âand are they your students?âÂ
they must be new, if they are. you know all of suguruâs students; you know them well enough to pick birthday presents and bring what they each like from the bakery. you donât think you know of these twoâthey must be new.
âno,â he breathes, âno, theyâre too young for that. maybe someday,â he adds hopefully.
âmaybe someday,â you agree thoughtfully.
suguru loves teaching. itâs not something he ever saw himself doingâbut life is dark at one point, a constant cloud looming over his head as it screams itâs over! your youth is over.
sometimes it hits him all at onceâno one was there to protect suguruâs youth, no one was there for satoruâs or nanamiâs, and certainly not haibaraâs. no one was there to make sure they could be kids, that the sun could still shine and chase the clouds away.Â
so suguru becomes a teacher. heâs fond of the kidsâand they like him too. geto sensei, they call, geto sensei, look! and then he pauses in the hall, holds back an amused chuckle before turning to face an overly enthusiastic yuji and nobara. megumi is not far behind, that disgruntled look on his face as always, but if you look closely, his eyes are soft and laced with something close to fondness.
geto sensei is a favoriteâmuch more of a favorite than gojo sensei is, to satoruâs utter dismay. you canât help but watch proudly sometimes, canât help but watch how much suguru has grown as he interacts with those kids, how much heâs allowed himself to grow, how much heâs let himself try to chase the sun instead of letting the clouds convince him the light no longer exists.Â
âtheyâre five,â suguru continues, poking the soba in front of him as he doesnât meet your gaze. âthe kids found them on a mission. in a cage.â
you know what that means instantly. you look at suguru, watching as his eyes stare numbly at the food in front of himâsometimes, you worry that suguru will once more fall victim to those bone-chilling thoughts he shares with you one night. sometimes you worry heâll slip and fall once more and you wonât notice this time, wonât reach your fingers and grasp him at the last second.Â
but he blinks, looks up and meets your eyes this time, stares into them and searches them for what he needs. he finds it, you think, because thereâs light returning to them once more.Â
maybe itâs hope, maybe itâs acceptance. maybe itâs neither, and heâs just happy to have you to come back to when the world gets too burdensome. youâre not sure, but you do know youâll always be there, right where he needs you.
âwhat happened to them?â you ask gently, âwas it their parents?â
âno,â he shakes his head, âthe villagers. their parents are dead.â
itâs not newâyouâve seen it before too. children tend to notice their techniques at this age. itâs not new to hear about children with no family history of sorcerers being labeled as some type of other in the family, in the community, or in the village.Â
suguru is lucky in that wayâhis mother and father see him as something special, something worth celebrating, something greater than they could ever hope to be. you meet them once every year, just for a few days. they love you, greeting you with kind smiles and warm hugs, pulling you inside as they get dinner ready. you visit his old room and smile as you rake your fingers over the figures on his desk and the cdâs he used to collect. his mother keeps his room in perfect condition, even after all these years.Â
you remind him to call more. sometimes, he triesâjust for you, he tries. itâs hard for him, you realize. sometimes suguru is guilty; sometimes, heâs haunted by what he almost did but thankfully didnât. itâs hard to face his parents ever since, even if theyâre blissfully unaware. itâs easier to love them from afar, he thinks. but you insist he calls more, so he does. sometimes hearing his motherâs voice is what he needs, even if he doesnât like to admit it.
âsoâŠwhatâll happen to them?â you ask quietly.Â
âtheyâre at the school for tonight,â he mumbles, âthereâs enough bedrooms, anyway. butâŠâ
but they canât stay there forever, is what he wants to say, you know that. staying at jujutsu high is hardly enough for children so young. they need a proper home, a proper family. you canât help but stare down at your own bowl of soba. itâs hard to watch children suffer like this. itâs especially hard on suguruâhe chose to teach to help those kids, to be there. somethings, however, cannot be fixed by simply being there.
âand then what will happen after?â
âthey need a home,â he says quietly, âandâŠlisten, i know we never reallyâŠweâve never discussed something like this. butâŠmaybe for a while, just until something better is decided, we couldâŠâ
you know what heâs trying to say before he can even say itâyou and suguru have never discussed children. you donât think you ever really want to, and youâre fairly certain he feels the same. itâs hard to lose haibara when youâre just a young kid, hard to live with the fact that someone so young and hopeful about the world is here one second and then gone the next. you see nanami sometimesâheâs kind to you, greets you politely, and asks how you are. but nothing about him has ever been the same since that day.
will your children meet the same fate? will you have them one second and lose them the next? will you patiently wait for them to come to visit the next chance they get from school, only to get a phone call no parent deserves to hear? theyâre common in the jujutsu world. itâs a risk every parent has to take. some are selfishârightfully so. some donât care to let their children master their techniques, arguing itâs better to have a child thatâs incapable and alive than gifted and dead. what if your children end up like nanami? the one who manages to live but can never accept the fact, not when someone else is dead. how will you be a pillar of strength? how can you tell them itâs okay to live as long as itâs not them whoâs dead? how can you help them grieve when you are always grieving yourself?
you donât think you ever want children, and you think youâre right in your assumption that suguru agrees.Â
but those girls need a home, and you know the look on suguruâs face means options are limitedâscarily so. you look at him for a while, look at him and see the way heâs got his heart set on these two girlsâsuguru has lost more than you ever could, and if this is something he thinks he should do, you think it might be worth a chance.
âbring them for dinner tomorrow,â you say finally, bringing soba to your lips, âiâd like to meet them.â
itâs not a straight answer, but itâs a start. suguru nods, smiling gently at you before he continues with his own dinner. itâs silent after that, but itâs not uncomfortable. he still steals your last bite of soba at the end, and you still roll your eyes and let him. you wash the dishes together after that, argue over whose turn it is to rinse and whose turn it is to dryâitâs routine, and youâre grateful you have something to look forward to in this cruel world, something you can count on regularly.
âââââ
hasaba nanako and hasaba mimiko.Â
those are their names. megumi says so when he first brings them to suguru. nanako is blonde, a bit bolder than mimiko, whoâs brunette. nanako is older by five minutes, and she likes to remind everyone when she can. mimiko holds nanakoâs hand when sheâs nervous, and nanako squeezes tightly with a smile. theyâre a mellow pair, despite it all. a little distrusting and a little nervous when too many people are in a room at once.
they take a liking to suguru, however. satoru is a bit too loud and boisterous for them, but suguru is kind and soft and gives them gentle head pats when they cooperate and answer his questions. on the way home, he asks them if theyâd like something from the bakery.
it leaves them a bit quiet, right until he looks over his shoulder with a raised eyebrow as he awaits their answer.
âweâve never been to one,â nanako answers quietly, the first to speak between the two, as always.
âis that so?â suguru asks gently. they nod, still holding hands.
children of five summers, and they have never picked out a cake for even a birthdayâhe wonders why that is. they shouldn't have shown signs of having cursed techniques so young, there should be no reason to mistreat them so early onâthe conclusion he comes to makes him even unhappier. parents should never have children if they arenât willing to love them, he thinks bitterly.
âitâs alright,â mimiko says finally, âwe donât needââ
âcome on then,â suguru grabs nanakoâs free hand, gently pulling them both along the busy streets of tokyo, âmy wifeâs favorite bakery is around the corner. weâve tried everything they have by now, so youâll have to tell us whatâs your favorite, yeah?â
itâs nanako who answers again first, nodding slowly before she smiles hopefully. âokay,â she murmurs.Â
from the corner of his eyes, suguru notices mimiko gently pull her hand from her sisterâs, quickly taking a few steps as she walks across in front of him before promptly finding herself on his other side. her hand reaches for hisâitâs slow, a bit unsure, so he grabs it delicately, giving a small squeeze as he grins down at her.
âwait until you try the strawberry cake,â he hums, âthatâs my favorite.â
âââââ
suguru comes home with two small girls on either side of him and more bags than you can count from the bakery just five minutes from your apartment. you blink before rushing over and taking a few bags from his hands.
âdid you just buy one of everything or something?â you ask incredulously, staring at all the boxes of goods within the bags.Â
he grins that closed-eye smile of his, crinkles forming in the corners as he says, âwell, of course,â like itâs the most normal thing ever to buy one of every item in a large bakery in the heart of tokyo. âthe girls have never been to a bakery before so i thought we could let them try everything and rank them.â
you look down at the girls, who stare at you nervously as they cling to each other. instantly, as soon as you meet their eyes, you canât help but drop down to your knees to meet their level as you smile softly.Â
âwhy hello there,â you murmur, ruffling each head gently. they like thatâsuguru texted you that earlier, that they seem to brighten considerably when he offers them a gentle pat on the head in affection. âwhat are your names?â
âiâm nanako,â the blonde one answers instantlyâsuguru is equal parts shocked and equal parts pleased by her new air of confidence. he wonders if sheâd be a bright and energetic child right about now, if the world hadnât crushed her under and forced her to live meekly. âand iâm older by five minutes.â
âhello nanako, the eldest by five minutes,â you answer seriously, nodding as though itâs a crucial fact to her identity, âitâs a pleasure to meet you. and what about you?âÂ
the brunette clutches her sisterâs hand a little tighterâbut nanako seems to have deemed you as safe. anyone geto sensei (as the other kids seem to call him) trusts is someone they donât have to be on guard around. she nudges mimiko gently, encouraging her to tell you her name.
âiâm mimiko,â she says quietly. she seems to be holding a small, pink stuffed toy. itâs seen better days, you think, but a nice wash and a few stitches to the top of its head should have it looking quite a lot better.Â
âand hello to you too, mimiko,â you smile, âare you younger by five minutes, then?â
she giggles a little at that before nodding, âi am,â she assures, âbut iâm smarter.â
âare not!â nanako says instantly, gasping. you and suguru share a look, amused and fond and relieved all at once.
âwhat a lovely toy,â you murmur, tracing the eyes with your finger. she droops a little at thatâlike being reminded of its condition is something that breaks her spirit.
âitâs ripped,â she mumbles, âit wasnât before.â
âi can fix it,â you offer, âsuguru is always ripping his uniforms, but lucky for him, his sweet little wife here is a fixer-upper.â
âreally?â she brightens. you nod, chuckling as you ruffle her hair, doing the same to nanako, too, when she eyes you hopefully from the side.Â
âthat sounds great,â suguru interrupts, âbut i believe i have cakes that need to be tried and mouths that are not trying.â
you rise, rolling your eyes and standing next to him, and his hand gently grabs yours. thank you, he squeezes. always, you squeeze back.
âwell, come on, girls,â you usher. mimiko grabs your free hand, and suguru grabs nanakoâsâyou all make your way to the dinner table. it feels oddly natural, you think. âwe have desserts to try. the chocolate one will definitely be your favorite, i can feel it.â
âitâll be strawberry,â suguru says confidently.Â
you meet his gaze, grinning at him as he stares at you hopelessly in love. itâs always been enough, you and suguruâitâs always been more than enough with just the two of you. so enough, that you never wanted more. but this is nice too, you think. this is something you could get used to, even if it breaks the routine youâve learned to love just a bit.
âââââ
nanako and mimiko stay at your house that night, and somehow, that turns into a week. sometimes, suguru takes them with him to school, just to handle a few things that are still to be taken care of regarding their case. you find you miss three instead of one while youâre home alone for the day.Â
they return cheery each time, bags of deserts in hand and a newfound glow in their eyes. mimikoâs toy is much cleaner now, and the small rips have been carefully sewn shut by you from the first night they spend. she clutches it everywhere she goes, hugs it in her sleep too. itâs hopelessly endearing.Â
nanako takes a liking to suguruâs phoneâheâs a bit too giving with her, you think. sheâs managed to figure out his passcode rather quickly, and he lets her get away with it, watching her small fingers work the buttons of whatever game she's downloaded with a gentle look of affection over his features.Â
on the days that suguru goes to school alone, the girls are left in your care for the dayâyou donât usually have someone to keep you company while youâre at home. youâve quit being a sorcerer long ago, deciding that itâs not worth the constant back-and-forth tug of war with life and death.Â
perhaps it's selfishâpeople are dying every day, and you sit and let it happen, but you canât help it. itâs too much, sometimes. suguru has always supported it, though, has always murmured that youâre doing the right thing and that sorcerers deserve quiet, peaceful lives, too, if they wish. so you do just that, stay home and learn a new dish or two through the day, watch a few shitty sitcoms on the television, leave and do some grocery shopping for the week, and return home to your quiet little apartment (as quiet as an apartment can get in tokyo, that is) and wait for your husband to come home.Â
suguru comes home by seven pm every day and gives you a soft kiss on your forehead as he says, hello, wife, to which you giggle and murmur, hi there, husband. you have dinner after that and share details about your days with each other. yuji and nobara are arguing again, suguru will tell you sometimes, i think nobara will cave and talk first this time, though. i brought fresh strawberries from the seasonâs harvest, you murmur behind a glass of water to your lips, got them just for you, sugu.
itâs been a routine like that ever since your marriage. you marry suguru quietly when you barely turn twenty, just a room full of the few people you dare let yourself love and the two of you as you sign the papers and share a kiss. thereâs an extravagant meal waiting for you after, though, courtesy of gojo satoru, a man with more money than he could hope to use on himself. satoru is happy that dayâhappier than youâve ever seen him in a long, long while. he takes his bandages off, sits and watches everything, and takes it all in even if itâll bite him back in the ass later with a long, pounding migraine.Â
today, however, is a saturdayâschool is out, and anyone who doesnât have a mission is free to have the day to themselves. suguru hasnât taken a large mission in ages, years, even. he accepts small ones here and there, and if it really calls for it, he joins a tough one with his studentsâbut itâs for their sake more than anything. but the big ones are too much for him to handle regularly anymore. the higher-ups arenât happyâspecial-grade sorcerers are hard to come by, and itâs unfair that the lower-grade ones are busting their necks out there more than he is. but suguru deserves a semblance of control over his well-being, and with satoru on his side, there isnât much of anything the higher-ups can really do.
he sits on the couch, scrolling through his phone as you click the remote, finding something to watch.Â
âyou know, we should really talk about this,â suguru mumbles from the side. itâs early, still. barely eight am, and the girls are still sleeping. theyâll be up soonâand with that, will be gone any moment for you and suguru to share a private moment.
they didnât warn you about that part of kidsâyou knew it was a busy job, watching over them, but you figured leaving them to play for a bit would grant you some peace. you and suguru quickly learn that children, no matter how well-behaved and disciplined, always need a watchful eye on them.Â
âtalk about what?â you yawn, âitâs too early for you to speak in codes.â
âthe girls,â he says, unimpressed. oh. right.
âwhat about them?â you say, dancing around the edge of the real issue. he sees right through youâyou know he will. still, youâre petulant enough to try and dodge the topic anyway.
âitâs been a week,â he says seriously, âthose kids think this is their new home. itâs cruel to make them think that any longer if we donâtâŠâ
keep them. let them stay. let them become a part of this home and, by extension, this family that has always just been you and suguru. raise them. take them in. take responsibility over them. love them.Â
can you love? like that, at least? are you meant to be a mother? youâre too selfish, you thinkâyou couldnât even stay fighting curses for long, too weak to care about those who need you, and too focused on needing yourself. can you handle two children? if you do this, you canât do anything else but do it rightâitâs what they deserve. but you donât know if you can give them what they deserve.
but there arenât many better options either, you remind yourself.Â
suguru seems to know what youâre thinking because he murmurs, âi think itâs easier to raise children than be a sorcerer,â he says quietly.Â
you raise an eyebrow skeptically. âyou can walk away from being a sorcerer, suguru. being a parent is for life.â
âbeing a parent means you get to love,â he reasons, âunconditionally. without regrets. without a contract, you know? loving a sorcerer is just betting how long someone has left to live, at the end of the day.â
âhow morbid of you,â you snort.
âtheyâre good kids,â he says quietly, âgreat, even.â
âtheyâre lovely,â you agree. and then, quieter this time, âiâŠi would miss them. more than i care to admit.â
âme too,â he nods.Â
your head falls to his chest, and he presses a kiss to your head, wrapping his arms around you. suguru has always loved youâwhen the world was not worth loving, and the people were not worth saving, suguru had loved you. he still does. and the way you love him is enough to make all of those things change. the world has a little more hope, and the people are a little less ugly when youâre there to prove not everything is bad. that even where the bad exists, the good can follow. as long as he has you, suguru is completeâbut he thinks more is not always so bad.
âsuguru?â you ask gently. he hums, rubbing a thumb over your knuckles as he squeezes your hand, âwe wonât force them,â you say firmly, âto do anything. they should exist as themselves if they want to. cursed techniques or not.â
he smiles. you donât see it, and you donât have to. you know itâs that deep, eye-crinkling smile thatâs heartfelt and real.Â
âno, we wonât force them,â he agrees, âtheyâre perfect as is.â
âââââ
the girls are given the option to each get the two spare rooms you and suguru have in your apartment. that leaves ultimately no guest room, but you think they deserve to have their own space and be their own people after everything. but, as you and he had expected, they choose to share a room and stay together.
youâll never forget the looks on their faces when they realize theyâre staying here permanently, the look of pure excitement and the slightest hints of shockâyou never realized how fulfilling it could be to make two children smile like that.Â
âwe canât paint the walls,â you hum, âwe donât own this place. but we can still decorate,â you offer.Â
they donât seem all that disappointed about not being able to paint their wallsâinstead, theyâre too excited about their beds, giggling as they jump on the mattress. suguru wants to tell them that jumping on mattresses is bad for the springs, but you stop himâthey deserve to be kids for a bit. after that, youâll teach them. but for now, they deserve to just be kids.
âcan we get lights?â nanako asksânow that you and suguru are guardians to two children (parents seemsâŠa bit too overwhelming to use right now), spontaneous dates donât happen one on one anymore. evidently, itâs hard to find babysitters on the spot, and leaving them home alone is not an option, so you decide to simply bring them along on your weekly sunday afternoon cafe visit. nanako takes a liking to the lights on the walls, and mimiko eats three slices of cake.Â
you canât wait to bring them next week, too.Â
âyou sure can,â suguru hums, chuckling.Â
âand a mirror?â
âof course,â you nod, âyouâll certainly need one to make sure the beauty sleep works.â
nanako giggles, flopping onto the bed, and mimiko sits not long after, still hugging that toy to her chest as she looks around the room in wonder. theyâve been sleeping in it for over a week now, but now that they can officially call it their own, they seem to be much more attached.
âi want pink sheets,â nanako hums.
âi want blue,â mimiko mumbles, looking at you shyly.Â
âwell,â suguru murmurs so that only you can hear, âmaybe we can get them two beds. smaller oneâtheyâll fit on either side.â
âand what do we do with this one, then?â you raise a brow.
âweâŠsell it?â
âsuguru, are you trying to drain every last bit of our savings?â
âwe have plenty,â he chuckles, âwe donât ever do anything.âÂ
that much is trueâyou and suguru hardly leave tokyo let alone japan, and though you let yourselves splurge on nice things, there isnât much to spend on between two people. but the last few days have really put into perspective howâŠexpensive raising children can be. clothing and school supplies (theyâll attend a normal school) and room decor and snacks, and anything else children require to be children is quite denting to bank accounts.Â
but you and suguru canât say you mindâand if nanako and mimiko want pink and blue sheets, wellâŠyou think you can make that happen.
âi think weâre spoiling them,â you mumble, âshould we be doing that?â
he wraps an arm around you and pulls you against his chest as his nose presses to the top of your head when he kisses it. heâs warm, just like he always isâmaybe warmer now, in fact.Â
ânah,â he grins, âi think weâre doing great.â
âââââ
the girls take their time to warm up to satoru, but when they finally do, he seems to be a favorite. satoru is very proud of this factâheâs not a lot of childrenâs favoriteâŠwell, maybe yujiâs perhaps, but you donât think yuji has a single bone in his body that could really dislike anyone. or rank them, to be quite honestâyou donât think he prefers satoru or suguru over the other.
âoh, kids,â satoru calls, stepping into your apartment and letting himself in. you and suguru are in the middle of making dinner, looking back in shock from the kitchen as satoru waves enthusiastically at you both.
âsatoru, how did you even get in?â you ask, raising an eyebrow. he grins, practically giggling as he points to your husband.
âsuguru gave me a key.â
âwhat?â suguru sputters, âno, i didnât!â
âyou let me borrow them,â satoru concedesâthatâs still not even anywhere near the truth.
âi left them at your place and kindly asked you to bring them to me at work the next day,â suguru corrects, crossing his arms and looking thoroughly unimpressed.
âyes, and i did what you should have done a long time ago and made myself a copy,â satoru huffs, âiâm the best friend! i deserve a keyââ
âgojo sensei!â the girls call.Â
as most kids do, they pick up what they hear around them. everyone seems to refer to satoru and suguru as gojo sensei and geto sensei. theyâre not students, but nanako and mimiko both pick up on the habit tooâand itâs helplessly adorable, you canât deny.
sometimes, you want to correct them, but they seem excited to see satoru, so you let the moment pass.
âthere they are!â satoru beams, taking his blindfold off and crouching down to meet them in the eyeânanako and mimiko seem to find satoru infinitely more approachable when his eyes are out and easy to look into. you canât imagine whyâhe looks like a creep. âi brought dessert! because whatâs life without something sweet, right? are these two feeding you girls the sugar you need to grow into tall, healthy young women?â
âthis is why you should never be allowed near children,â you say flatly.Â
satoru looks at you with a pointed look, âi practically raised megumi and tsumiki, yâknow. saving young siblings and giving them a nice home life is old news, i already did that. be more original, please.â
what a jackassâyou scowl at him, throwing the wooden spoon in your hand at his head and watching as it doesnât even touch him and falls to the floor. curse his infinity.
âokay, now,â suguru chuckles, âi donât want to spend the evening looking after four children instead of twoââ
âgeto sensei! thanks for having us over for dinner,â yuji interrupts, stepping through the door that satoru took such great care not to close, âfushiguro was a bit of a hassle to convince, though.â
suguru throws a sharp glare at satoru as soon as three of their students step into your homeâyouâre going to have to forget the dinner youâre making and order takeout, you think. satoru will pay.
âthis is why you didnât get a key,â suguru hisses, âbecause then you act like you own the place.â
âi wanted a family gathering,â satoru gasps, âtsumiki is coming too! wait for her.â
despite the way suguru grabs satoruâs hairâand satoru, for some reason, turns off his infinity and lets himâyou notice the corners of your husbandâs mouth twitching into a gentle smile, and you know heâs thinking the same thing as you. familyânanako and mimiko are here, and so are yuji, and nobara, and megumi, and satoru (the biggest headache), and soon, tsumiki too.Â
familyâyes, this is family, you think.
âââââ
âdaddy, iâm hungry,â mimiko tugs on suguruâs sleeve.
âi know, pumpkin, just give me a second andââ
âdaddy, look! i beat the high score on my game andââ
âdaddy is looking, sweetie, just give me one minute, nanako, yeah? daddy will look andââ
âwow,â satoru chuckles, grinning amused, âyouâre really worn thin.â
âsatoru,â suguru grumbles, âif youâre not going to help, then please leave.â
nanako and mimiko are seven now. in two years, their personalities have really blossomedâsomething which you and suguru are very grateful for. the world should not crush children so young that they donât get to be the children they are meant to be. you and suguru take great care to make sure they know they can be kids.Â
and they areâthey whine about bedtime and pick at their vegetables and point at everything in the store and plead for something new. theyâre childrenâyour children, and you canât help but love them unconditionally so.
âwell, welcome to fatherhood,â suguru snaps, trying his best to make lunch and entertain the two girls waiting for his attention.Â
suguru is a good fatherâa gentle one, in fact. he comes home every day from work and grins, asking in that smooth voice of his, where are my ladies? and just like that, you and your two girls meet him with excited grins. you peck his lips before he crouches down and pulls two small bodies against his chest, letting their tiny arms wrap around his neck as he hoists them up.
itâs a perfect little routine, one you cherish greatly. but the girls are getting older, and soon, theyâll be too heavy to carry like this. it makes you a little sad to think aboutâbut if thereâs one thing youâve learned, breaking routine isnât always so bad. soon there will be a new one, and when you outgrow that, another new one, and so on.
what wonât ever change is the way you love suguru, and he loves you, and you both love your daughters, and they love you both too.Â
âdaddy,â nanako calls, âwhereâs mommy?â
âat the store, nanako,â he says patiently, sighing. this is the fifth time sheâs asked.
âwhen will she be back?â
âsoon, nanako,â he smiles assuringly, âat least, i hope so,â he adds quietly, under his breath.
satoru hears, thoughâand he cackles, heinously loud, too, as he watches the scene unfold in amusement. but satoru is suguruâs best friend, and yours too. and the girls love him. heâs familyâand so are their students.Â
itâs nice, suguru thinks, itâs nice to have something worth smiling for.
âiâm home!â you call, âis satoru here? because the door was unlockedââ
âmommy!â the girls call, cutting you off with the pitter-patter of small, excited little feet hitting the ground and greeting you.Â
âwhy hello,â you gasp excitedly, laughing as they tackle you in a hug.
you and suguru share a smile as he looks backâfamily, itâs what youâve both built here. itâs slow at first, and sometimes it wasnât easy. at one point, it was just the two of you, just you and suguru, and that was okay. you didnât think you would ever be capable of letting it be moreâbut itâs nice when it grows, you think. maybe one day, you can dare to hope to grow it some more.
the scene were they got 2 bedsâthat was me and my sister when we first moved into our weeeee lil apartment back when i was in middle school !! we were bummed bc we couldn't paint the walls but our parents let us have 2 beds so we could pick our sheets !! it was a fond memory LOL but now i DO have a room where i painted the color except i HATE the color now bc i was still in middle school when we moved into our house and got to pick colors and middle school me and adult me are soooo different so now i have a teal bedroom that haunts me

Danny is the Crazy Old Manâąïž of Gotham
So, the events of Danny Phantom happened decades ago
Like, Phantom Planet was one of the first instances of Superheroes in HISTORY. Early 1900's, just the Fentons were Insanely Ahead of their Time!
Danny is still a Halfa, but has allowed himself to grow old and live his best life before fully dying so he can accept his Throne in the Infinite Realms. He decides to experience Life in the fullest way possible, partying, drinking, making long lasting friendships that shape the lives of everybody he meets, all that!
Eventually, Danny's Party Life leads him to Gotham. And this place is just amazing!
It has all the comforts of Home, with so much more! He can Party! He can Fight! He can do anything he wants and nobody bats an eye, because a crazy old man getting into a fistfight in the middle of the road is just another Tuesday for Gotham!
He decides to spend the rest of his Mortal Life there. And this is still Early On in the DC Timeline, like, Batman Year 1 is happening Right Now.
He hangs around, befriends the local Homeless Population, and mostly just has the time of his Life! And he takes up the stereotypical Homeless Old Man look because why fight it? That's literally what he's going for!
He also unintentionally sets up a bunch of future events
He teaches Kid!Jason on his to steal Tires as repayment for driving off some muggers with a Baseball Bat (honestly he was looking forward to being mugged, it's a new experience after all)
He pulls Kid!Tim into an Alley after Tim gets caught out at night and gets chased by some Punks. He hides Tim behind a Dumpster and tricks the Punks into mugging him instead (Yay! He finally got mugged!)
He becomes kind of well known as the Old Man who wants to experience everything before he dies. He says as much too, not like he really has a reason to hide it. He just tells people "I want to live my life to the fullest, it don't matter if I live 10 more years or 10 more minutes, I'm gonna experience every second of it!"
He once walked into a Cloud of Fear Gas to see what it was like. Later he said it was a 6/10. "Not the worst thing I've had injected into my body!" He says with no Context.
He traded places with a Hostage during an active Crime Scene because he wanted to know what it's like.
He was once dared to take Batmans Utility Belt by another Homeless Guy as a joke, so he walked up to Batman later that night in full view of everybody else and just asked for his Belt. He gives up after a few minutes, and one guy asked "Why not fight him for it? It's an experience after all.". Danny replys "Nah, I've fought Vigilantes before. It was fun though, gotta say!"
...
This got away from me, but all this to say: Imagine the Bat Families Reaction when they find out "Crazy Old Danny" is PHANTOM. You know, THE FIRST SUPERHERO!
I imagine Constantine is having a stroll though Gotham after finishing up some business with Bruce, and just bumps into a homeless guy by accident.
Later that night:
Batman: Constantine, Why are you calling? Is it to do with the-
Constantine: Why the fuck is there a Homeless God in your City?
Batman: Wait wha-
...
Or imagine they know before Constantine meets him, and it goes instead like this
Constantine: Why the fuck is there a Homeless God in your City?!
Batman: You mean Old Man Danny? He's just a homeless guy? What do you mean?
Constantine: I swear on what's left of my Soul, that is a God.
Batman, a little shit: I don't think so, I would know (fully knows)
#Dp x dc#Dpxdc#Dc#Dcu#Danny Phantom#Danny Fenton#Old Man Danny#Crazy Old Man#Crazy Old Man Danny#Crazy Old Man Danny AU#Danny is the next in line for the Throne#He just needs to die#Not like he's in a hurry though#His friends can wait a few more decades in the afterlife#It was them who dared him to do this#Honestly it was a good idea#He had made so many new friends#Like The President#Danny is the old guy who :knows: people#Imagine the Crazy Old Man on the corner is actually Old drinking buddies with the President

It's Okay to Play Favorites (Vice Housewardens)
Intro: You accidentally get sucked into the world of Twisted Wonderland, your favorite game, like, ever. And uh, you may or may not have teleported with a plushie of your favorite characterâŠ
Warnings: bad writing, awful grammar, not proofread, self aware au but not god, your card collection is just you being freaky and taking pictures of them, google translated French be warned, orthoâs is platonic and if u take it any other way i ban u, liliaâs is also platonic but if u see romance crumbs i won't stop u, ik ruggie and ortho aren't vice housewardens but get this idgaf
A/N: Bro college got me fucked (second day in i know i'm a fucking whiner i hate it all). Not a request, just some random stuff I wrote during my 3 hour round-trip commute jfc. If my Jade favoritism is acting up, no it ain't.
Masterlist
Trey Clover is a man often overlooked, whether in the fandom or the world of Twisted Wonderland.
So when you get transported in during orientation, you, the player, were holding a plush form of him?
He blanks out.
Sorry Riddle, your vice housewarden kinda crashed maybe you can reboot him or something.
Treyâs never thought of himself as anything special, but he must be if heâs your favorite character, right?
You befriend him with a giddy smile, he can almost see the hearts in your eyes as you fan[redacted] so hard you actually hug him in your excitement.
The player? Hugged? Him?????
âCrazy bro thatâs like super nuts so jealous of you.â - Cater Diamond
Hm, he gets a bit bashful when you take so many pictures of him.
Do you really like him that much?
HeâŠlikes you too.
âCringe.â - Cater Diamond
Iâm just a normal person, you know? At least, the closest someone can get to normal in this place. You still want me? Are you sure?
âŠOkay.
If youâre sure.
Unfortunately, to date a dad is to put up with dad jokes.
Do you mind though?
Makes you the most delicious pastries and confectionery known to mankind. Youâll probably get 5 lbs fatter and a sugar addiction.
But your teeth will be beautiful because he teaches you how to brush your teeth properly.
(Ten kinds of toothbrushesâŠ)
Picnic dates.
Tea party dates.
Baking dates.
You might need to go on a diet to stay in shape because Trey doesnât mind fat. He will probably love you more if youâre chubby.
But he loves you regardless.
Rest of the cast is like, vaguely jealous because why Trey?
But also he has a generally good rapport with other people so itâs cool.
Maybe.
Ruggie Bucchi wasnât really paying too much attention at the ceremony but you definitely drew his focus.
Is that a plushie hyena beastman?
Does not register that itâs him until someone calls it out.
What? Why? How? When? Where?
He probably has major self esteem issues because, you know, the schoolâs filled to the brim with rich kids and people with status.
He has neither money nor power. So when he finds out heâs your favorite character? Boom.
He lets out his cute (im not biased) laugh but itâs because he doesnât know how else to react.
You want to be his friend? Why not?
(Laughs again because heâs exploding on the inside)
You hug him???? Crazy. You owe him a donut for that, bro.
Thinks the picture thing is a bit weird but who is he to argue with the player?
Youâre weird, yâknow? Thereâs like princes and moguls and stuff in NRC, why me?
You like me? You find me charming?
Thatâs not something Iâd really use for myself but heyâŠknock yourself out. Shishishi.
Floof.
You get to scratch his ears and kiss âem and watch âem twitch while he tries to get away from you.
Insane bro wish I was you.
Cuddly and surprisingly clingy, loves loves loves being pampered.
Are you indoctrinated by my subby Ruggie vibes yet???
His love language is sharing food.
(Have you ever tried passing candy through a kiss? No? Wanna try?)
His grandma will love you <3
The other characters will be giving him major stink eye. The scrappy hyena? Really?
Yes really.
âWhatever, good for you.â - Leona probably.
Jade Leech is amused.
Rather childish, is it not? Well, heâs flattered that you think so highly of him and even have this stuffed toy in his image.
Unfortunately, he does hold enough respect for you as the player to not immediately use your infatuation with him for nefarious purposes.
Not to say he doesnât tease you though.
You are the flustered one here.
Heâs your favorite? Oya, how interesting. Heâs never seen himself the way that you do, but who is he to argue with the player?
Please, what do you like so much about him? Do tell.
(His systems crash when you hug him but youâll never know)
You seem to enjoy taking his pictures. If you let him [redacted] you can take as many as you want.
If you donât take him up on his offer I will!!!
My, I never expected to be your âfavorite characterâ, was it? Well, I donât mind.
What do I think of you?
Fufu, wouldnât you like to know?
Loving a sadist means youâre probably a masochist.
You like it when he âunintentionallyâ makes you do something stupid? Toys with you? Teases you with his annoyingly adorable super cutie pie grin?
Bro you have weird taste I could like, never~
If you didnât like mushrooms before you do now.
You wish heâd look at you the way he looks at his terrariums.
You know that silly, happy, dopey little look he gets? The lab coat groovy one? Yeah.
Hiking dates if youâre physically able to. If not, he makes like the fanciest dinner dates ever.
He does love you, promise.
The other characters are highkey judging you.
Jamil Viper is inside his hoodie and is very unlikely to ever come out.
Youâre kinda embarrassing but what is he supposed to do?
Youâre the player. You have a plushie Jamil. Tiny and cute.
Jamil doesnât see himself as cute. Wouldnât it be better if you had a different one? Someone sunnier, someone warmer, someone likeâŠKalim?
Jamilâs your favorite character?
Yeah heâs not leaving his hoodie.
When youâre so happy and excited that you hug him, his soul leaves his body through his lips.
Rip Jamil Viper.
I donât think Jamilâs very used to the camera, considering heâs technically Kalimâs servant and servants stay in the background.
But since you adore him the way that you do, well, he wonât stop you.
Youâre strange. Is this a prank?
No, I donât mean to doubt you. Itâs just thatâŠ
No, nevermind. Since you want me, Iâllâlove? You love me? Fine, I can work with that too.
His favorite kind of date is one where you two sleep and cuddle together.
He needs a break.
Itâs not too often that he can carve time out of babysitting, so any time spent with him youâll cherish like gold.
You can help him with chores if you manage to persist through multiple rejections.
Heâd really prefer not to make the player do chores with him, but when you smile so wide like that, he canât refuse anymore on the grounds of you not enjoying it.
Kalim can lend you guys the carpet though, you wanna fly?
While the cast doesnât generally approve of the snake, youâre very loud about your infatuation.
They canât stop you.
Rook Hunt is a lover of beauty, and you, the player, are the most beauté of all! (full points :D)
Qu'est-ce que c'est? A soft and fluffy copy of himself? How wonderous! Marvelous! The adorable cotton-filled blah blah blah (insert soliloquy here)
While thereâs a tiny thought in his mind that perhaps the poison apple or the queen would be more befitting of a nui plush, he still takes your fascination with him in stride.
(Itâs not often that heâs in this role.)
To be your favorite, it is an honor!
He shall dedicate a poem to your inner and outer beauty!
Accidentally tosses you to the ground when you try to hug him.
Desolé, instinct. Try again?
Heâs not used to being the one in the spotlight, but please, take as many pictures as you need!
Love? Love is the most beautiful indeed. Comme toi, tellement adorable. Lovely.
Youâre asking if I have someone I love?
Je suis un lĂąche de ne pas exprimer mon amour pour toi.Â
Either you get what heâs saying or you remember it so you can translate later.
Anyway, have you ever wanted to hunt for sport as a date?
No?
How about getting hunted for sport?
Still no? Shame.
Rook settles for little camping trips in the woods, just you and him and the forest (and his bow and quiver of arrows and his hunting knife and his dagger andâ).
He makes very good roasted meat.
Youâll enjoy it as long as you remember not to ask where itâs from.
Uh, ignore how every other cast member is judging you. Love is love, right?
Ortho Shroud is very happy! Very excited! Yay!
Youâre a legendary figure, and youâre treating him so nicely!Â
Is that a toy made to look like him? You like Ortho? Heâs your favorite character?
Yay!
Robo baby is very happy.
Since you like Ortho, do you like Idia too?
Can you be Idiaâs friend?
Can you be a new older sibling? Please?
(Say yes or I will [redacted])
Hugs? Hugs!
Forehead kisses?
Yes!
You seem to enjoy taking many pictures of Ortho. Why is this? You like him that much?
If so, maybe you two should take pictures together instead of always taking pictures of him alone. Heâd love to take lots of pictures with you!
Can Idia come?
I am your favorite character? Like in a video game? This world is also a video game?
Thatâs great!
What kind of character am I?
Lilia Vanrouge thinks youâre funny. But also totally correct.
He must be sinful because even you, dear player, find him absolutely adorable!
HeheheâŠ
Is that a tiny Lilia? Good taste! Itâs almost as adorable as the real one.
When you hug him in your excitement, he just laughs and pats your back.
Grandpa vibes.
A picture? Why not?
A selfie, as you kids say. (bro youâre not even detached from modern technology???)
Really likes taking pictures with you.
Since you like him a lot and heâs your favorite character, be a dear and forgo your sleep schedule to game with him.
Iâm your favorite, right? Surely that means youâd love to taste my cooking?
No? Why, Iâm saddened by your rejectionâŠ
There we go. Itâs not so bad, is it? I made it with effort, onions, garlicâŠare you alright? Oh dear.

once shoko opens her door, you offer her a half-hearted smile and hold up your bottle of wine. if thereâs one person you can count on to help drink your feelings away, itâsâ
âi actually canât tonight,â she sighs. âi have an exam tomorrow and i already had a few drinks soâŠâ
âwait, shokoââ you catch the edge of the door, sighing as you admit, âi think satoru is cheating on me.âÂ
she pauses for a second, as if checking to see if youâre serious.Â
then, âyou open that up. iâll get the glasses.âÂ
âthanks,â you grin, following her inside.Â
âdo you need anything else?â she calls from the kitchen. âa hug? baseball bat? an alibi?â
âno need for glasses, and we donât need the other stuffâŠyet,â you grimace, twisting the cap off the bottle and taking a swig, kicking the door shut behind you. âand i donât know for sure that heâs cheating, but heâs just been so weird lately.âÂ
âweird how?â your friend asks, pushing aside the textbooks she has open on the couch cushions before gesturing for the bottle. âitâs gojo, youâve gotta be more specific.â
you hand her the tequila, shaking your head. âit was small things at first. showing up late for dates or just cancelling them. not telling me where heâs been all day. then last night i saw this text on his phoneâŠâ
shokoâs brows raise. âyou were looking at his messages?â
âno!â you exclaim. then, when your best friend sends you a look, âokay, i didnât mean to! he left his phone on the nightstand while he was in the shower and i looked at it when it buzzed with a text from someone named megumi.â
âoh,â shoko realizes, eyes widening. âthatâs a girlâs name.âÂ
you both sit in silence for a moment, passing the bottle back and forth. your phone buzzes a few times in your pocket - undoubtedly satoru asking why youâve been avoiding him all day - but you ignore it.
âletâs confront him,â shoko proposes once youâre halfway through the bottle. âfind out once and for all.â
âokay!â by now, youâre buzzed enough to think this is a brilliant idea, standing on unsteady legs as shoko calls for a cab.Â
_____
âhey,â your boyfriend smiles weakly once he opens the door. âwait, whatâs shoko doingââ
âwhere is she?â she asks, pushing past the both of you to walk into his apartment. she begins flipping up couch cushions and checking behind curtains.Â
âwhatâs going on?â satoru asks, letting you push him inside. he looks down at you, concern clouding his expression. âwhatâs she talking about?â
youâre not sure if itâs liquid courage or frustration that causes you to blurt, âare you cheating on me?â
âwhat? of course notââ
âthen whoâs megumi?â
âhe is tojiâs six year son!â
your eyes widen. shoko freezes, halfway through opening a cabinet.Â
tojiâŠhad a son? âso heâs aâ aââ
âheâs a zenâin,â your boyfriend confirms. itâs as if all the air leaves your lungs when he says that, catching in your throat. âhis mom passed, and after tojiâŠi couldnât just leave him alone. apparently toji made some deal to sell the kid to the zenâin clan, and i didnât wantâŠso i filed for guardianship.â
âguardianship,â you echo. âyouâre planning to raise the kid on your own?
âhis sister too.âÂ
âiâm gonna go get a cab home. let you two talk,â shoko laughs nervously, speeding out the door.Â
satoru walks over to the couch once sheâs gone, sitting the edge and hiding his face in his hands. âiâd get it, you know.â
âget what?â you ask, sitting next to him.
âyou didnât sign up for this,â he sighs. âtaking in two kidsâ itâs a lot. but i couldnât do nothing. heâs going to need someone to help him. teach him. care about him. so he doesnât end up likeâŠâ
he doesnât finish his sentence. you donât make him. even after a few years, the heartache of losing your friend causes a dull ache in your chest.Â
thoughâŠheâs right that you didnât sign up for any of this. kids were the furthest thing from your mind at this stage of your life, not to mention this stage of your relationship.Â
but if satoru, who is barely an adult himself, can find it in his heart to do what you know in your mind is the right thingâŠ
âthen i guess itâll make the next few years of our lives pretty exciting,â you sigh, resting your head on his shoulder.Â
âour lives?â he repeats, sounding shocked. âyouâreâŠstaying?â
you draw back to meet his pensive gaze, though it melts away when you offer him a small smile. you see him in this moment.Â
so you cup his face in your hands, thumb softly stroking his cheek. âyou didnât think i would want to stay?â
âi hoped,â he murmurs, lips brushing against the inside of your wrist. âbut i didnât know for sure.â
âwell, iâm not going anywhere,â you assure him, kissing the tip of his nose. âeven if youâre a monumental pain in my ass.â

The more that I think about the early episodes of TBB S3, the funnier they get to me. Like
First we have Crosshair, who is really getting to know Omega for the first time. His only real interactions with her in the past have involved his brothers being EXTRA protective of her, so in his head Omega is probably just this poor, scared, naive little kid. And then one day she just pulls up to his prison cell and is like âwhatâs up, loser, weâre getting out of hereâ and then proceeds to sneak him out of a high security government lab under the nose of the emperor himself (she knows our battle plans?? Of course she knows all of our battle plans, thatâs a normal thing to teach a 12 year oldâŠ) Not to mention the fact that Omega gambled in a bar and won more credits than either of them had probably ever seen in their lives, so that they could bribe the space TSA into getting them off world (WHY does the kid know how to gamble). Not that Crosshair is in any position to judge someoneâs parenting, but he has QUESTIONS.
Omega, meanwhile, is for the first time getting the full Crosshair Experience, complete with every bit of sarcasm, snark, and sass that the man has been bottling up on Tantiss, and she is not having it. No, Crosshair, I donât really know how to fly this shuttle, why donât you quit your backseat flying and get your butt up here and do this yourself? No, Crosshair, we cannot open fire on civilians in an airport, I thought that was just an inhibitor chip thing for you. No, Crosshair, we are NOT LEAVING OUR MAN-EATING HOUND ALONE AND UNSUPERVISED ON A RESIDENTIAL PLANET.
And then you have Hunter, who hasnât been thinking clearly for five months and who probably is living off a diet of spiked lemonade and sour patch kids (to match the bitterness inside him), who went from thinking âoh yeah weâre gonna settle down on Space Greeceâ to âWrecker, that one crime syndicate called us back, if we murder this one guy for them then they MIGHT give us some info on Omega, wheels up in 10â
And poor Wrecker finds himself as The Responsible Adult for the first time in his life, which is incredibly confusing and a little bit scary and Hunter, you are TOO CLOSE to the edge of that cliff!! Heâs never really believed in vegetables before but Echo says theyâre good for you so he spends every moment that heâs not trying to keep Hunter from starting a second interplanetary war over the disappearance of his kid attempting to convince Hunter to try an apple or something.
And then it all culminates in this very tense, dramatic moment where theyâre all staring at each other and Omega is like âyay now we can all get therapy!â and Wrecker is like âEcho come back I canât do this on my own anymoreâ and Hunter is like âyou canât commit fratricide in front of the kid, you canât commit fratricide in front of the kidâ and Crosshair is like âTAKE YOUR SCARY CHILD BACKâ and if thatâs not peak Bad Batch then I donât know what is

a 'partners in crime' installment - luke castellan x dionysus!reader
words: 1.6k
summary: (pre-established relationship) The one where you and him have your first kiss. Itâs just Luke. Heâll do anything you tell him to, even if you talk too much. Luke Castellan x fem!Dionysus!reader
a/n: trouble is a yapper yall should know that by now. happy first kiss to you and luke!
(posted 1/25/24 unbetad)
â
âCome on, Castellan, weâre gonna be late if you donât hurry!â
Your foot taps steadily on the forest floor, waiting for Luke to finish his demonstration of how to slay a chimera, and at the sound of your voice, he sheathes his sword and claps Chris on the back to finish up the workshop.
âWhere you off to, man?âÂ
âGotta help our favorite head counselor set up for Greek Legends & Theatrics,â he says matter-of-factly, setting his battle armor to the side and making the walk up the steep hill towards the amphitheater to meet you like heâs following a siren call.
âSimp,â Chris mutters before his best friend slaps him across the head and jogs away.
âMy hands are full, Rodriguez!â
âYou wish!â Chris calls out as he picks up his sword, watching the slight blush rise on Lukeâs pale cheeks as he almost trips over his own feet.Â
âShut the fuck up!â
âWatch your fucking language,â you say sternly, which makes the both of you laugh when he finally meets you at the top of the hill. Instantly, youâre relinquishing everything in your hands: your water jug, the bag of costumes, a binder of scripts, and a ukelele. Lukeâs juggling everything as best he can with no complaints, following your footsteps as he bumps the body of the uke against his hip to get a better grasp as he marvels at your excitement for your little drama club.
âWhatâre you teaching today, Trouble?â
âOrpheus and Eurydice, and itâs gonna be great! One of my personal favorites! The kids should be ready for the performance at the end of the month,â you grin, walking backward as you descend the stone steps of the amphitheater.Â
Youâve both grown into your roles here at camp, finding places you shine and excel at and together you bridge what the kids, your kids, are lacking. But he can see how you let yourself thrive here, being the operative heart of Camp Half Blood, and youâre radiating as you beckon him to follow you.Â
Following you around has become a habit as of late, one that heâs only recently made himself aware of. Sure, heâs always loved annoying you and doing something stupid to get a reaction, whether it be a snide remark or a smile, but something in your dynamic has changed. Youâre head counselor after all, and even though heâs only in charge of busy cabin 11, his hand is always extended to whatever you have to offer. Quite simply, he loves it when you look for him, thereâs no other explanation for it.
Youâve always troubled him, his thoughts, his lifeâ but Luke canât define it, or deem it something he can live without. It doesnât make sense, and now he often finds himself wondering what it would be like to be more than whatever you are; not enemies, not necessarily friends, but perhaps a secret third thing, something he admittedly holds sacred.Â
Luke trusts you with his life, but wouldnât choose you to be his quest companion again he thinks, not after the scar only you deem pretty is an evident sign of his personal transgression. He stares at you for a second too long while you ramble, organizing your thoughts out loud that he doesnât notice any of the actual words falling from your lips because heâs entranced by them. Slight worry crosses his sharp features as he realizes he could kill someone if you got hurt.Â
Fuck.
Thereâs a space heâs carved out for you in his heart that he reminds himself not to name yet and now youâre looking for him again, turning to him when you realize he hasnât followed.
When did you get so close to him?
âLuke!â you exclaim, nibbling on your bottom lip as you snap your fingers in his face.
âAre you even listening to me? I need an extra hand setting up smores stuff for the bonfire later if youâre free, and then we have night shift afterâŠâ Youâre leaning against the table with a delicate smile on your face and in moments like these where you rattle off your routine that he gladly picks apartâ Luke feels a sort of elation better than any quest or glory he can achieve. Only you can make unpaid labor sound like Elysium.Â
He nods absentmindedly, eyes flickering to your lips as you continue to speak, and he canât help but admire how the way the sun filters through your hairâŠÂ
Maybe Chris was onto somethingâŠ
âYou okay? If you need a break you can sit and watch us, the kids should be coming soon to start.â
Your fingers graze his bicep, and he blinks at you, your eyes wide with curiosity and a fire that canât be tamed. You drive him crazy. He probably looks like a lunatic, frozen in place as he stares at you, so he shakes his head lightly, albeit unconsciously as he furrows his eyebrows, scar crinkling with his eyes as he smiles at you.
What a dork.
âWhyâre you looking at me like that?â you laugh, your head falling onto your shoulder as you look at him sideways. Youâve noticed Luke is softer with you nowadays, hands always full when you keep him busy, and unlike the other cabin counselors, seldom does he fight you about camp duties. Heâll fight you about anything else though, just to get the last swipe at your attention, to make sure your eyes are on him.
And they always are, whether you can help it or not.
Luke steps forward, duffel bag still in hand and ukelele at his other side and suddenly he looks like heâs on a mission, his signature smirk stealing the air from your lungs as you forget what youâre saying.
âLike what, Trouble?â
Nervous laughter bubbles from you at the increasing proximity. Itâs the first time heâs spoken since you got down here. His cargos brush against the smooth skin of your legs as you nestle your hips against the table, and the smell of sweat, musk, and citrus infiltrates your nostrils with a shaky breath.
âLike youâre about to make a mess of something. I canât really tell,â you whisper. Why are you whispering? Thereâs no one here but you two and the sound of birds in the spring air.
Itâs just Luke. Luke Castellan, who you glitter bombed when you were 14, who shoves you around every chance he gets, and steals food off your plate at every meal.
âI might. Not sure yet,â he swallows as he looms over you, the bag in his grasp falling to the side and the ukelele making a dissonant noise as he sets it on the table.Â
When did you let him past your defenses? The wall around your heart was well protected after years of whims of what you thought was love felt like running headfirst into concrete.Â
But Lukeâs always been there, watching.
Though as a son of Hermes, sneaking in without a sound is what he does best. Perhaps a little too well, the both of you not noticing it for what it was until this moment.
âWhat are we doing?â you ask, and his reply is to pull you in by the belt loop of your denim shorts, snatching you closer with a curl of his fingers.
âYou talk too much, you know that?â
Then suddenly, finallyâhis lips descend onto yours stealing your breath away like it's second nature, almost thoughtless and without anymore questions. There's a moment where you both sigh as if it was a relief to finally be touched like this, no hidden meanings, no ulterior motives, and nothing else makes sense but to be here kissing him.
Lukeâs calloused hand weaves under your jaw and into your hair, propping you up as your knees buckle slightly, so intense and gentle at the same time, lips forging the undeniable connection between you thatâs gone unspoken for so long. His hands are full of you, and he tastes like the strawberries you snuck onto his plate at lunch.
Your hands slide up the front of his shirt, a featherlike touch to confirm that heâs there though the feel of his tongue slipping in makes you wonder how much time youâve wasted arguing with him when you couldâve been doing this.
Everything about this kiss feels familiar in a way you canât describe, but this embrace lets you learn about him what you thought you were already so sure of. It makes you wonder if youâve been here before in a different life, and then you remember whoâs in front of you.
Itâs Luke, who likes it when he gets to fall asleep to the sound of your voice telling a bedtime story, follows you around even if his siblings tease him, and never ridicules you for your innate madness.
Perhaps heâs just as mad as you.
Your eyes flutter open, and heâs already walking away, nervously chuckling like he didnât give you a life-altering kiss. When your heart finally feels like itâs in your chest again, you grumble loudly, shaking your head with his name still caught between your teethâ
âLUKE CASTELLAN! Don't you dare run away from me!â
He's quite sure he hasn't sprinted away faster in his life. But as he runs up the steps of the ampitheater to try and clear his head, he stumbles when he looks at you, turning around every few paces until he finally catches the unmistakeable smile on your face. Luke eats shit at the top, falling against a tree and he hears the sound of your laughter.
He thinks heâll spend the rest of his life running away if it means he can look back and see if youâll follow.
â
âI donât know how it is you are so familiar to meâor why it feels like I am getting to know you and more as though I am remembering who you are. How every smile, every whisper brings me closer to the impossible conclusion that I have known you before, I have loved you beforeâin another time, a different placeâsome other existence.â

The Hero and Hope (part 3/5)
(part 1) (part 2)
Summary: You've been adopted before. That's why you know better than to hope for another chance, especially a second chance with the Bahrs
-----
Itâs not that you donât want to be adopted. You just know that youâre not going to be. Youâre the oldest in the orphanage, barely three years away from aging out. People donât adopt kids your age, especially not obstinate, mean ones like you.
Besides, youâre a Hero. As soon as you master your power, youâll be compelled to leave and fight evil anyway. Thatâs why it doesnât matter if the Bahrs want you or not. Youâre not somebody thatâs supposed to have a family.
You barely remember the first time you were adopted. That was back when the Director of the orphanage was mean and biting. You have a vague memory of gold exchanging hands and leaving in the middle of the night. Your new parents barely looked at you and didnât call you by your name at all.
You donât remember a lot of that time. You were five and it was a struggle to go from living with a dozen kids to no one at all. Your new family gave you your own room in their small house and told you not to get underfoot.
The first time you ran away from their house, you didnât get far. The baker in town brought you back to them and warned them about how kids your age are always slipping out when not paid enough attention.
âIf you do it again,â the person who paid for you said, âyouâre going straight back to the orphanage.â
And you do.
--------.
The day of the picnic, every kid wakes up early without being told.
You watch as Hera fusses over all the younger ones, straightening new shirts and brushing dust off knees. Josiah is reading one of the newest books Mrs. Bahr â Marie â brought, biting the skin on the side of his thumb. You snag Hera as she races to find Annie some ribbon for her hair.
âHold up, let me brush your hair first,â you say.
Hera frantically pats the braids she slept in. âI forgot about my hair!â She turns large, watery eyes on you. âIslaaaa!â
You snort and help her unwind each braid. She decides to leave it down, charmed by the waves the braids left in her hair. Your hands donât shake as you work even though your heart is racing. Today is the day of the picnic.
Today might be the day the Bahrs pick one of you to adopt. The younger kids donât know that, the information carefully hidden from them, but Hera knows. Director Sarah knows. You know.
Itâs been a long time since you felt this sort of anxiety. The second time you were adopted was just before the Winter and it wasnât bad at first. The couple who adopted you ran an inn in town. It was exciting to have your own room and your new mother wanted you to call her Mom right away. Six-years-old and you were so excited just to be able to call someone your parent. This time you were going to listen. You werenât going to run away or complain if their house felt too big and too lonely. This time you were going to get it right.
You didnât think about what they wanted from you in exchange.
It wasnât until the second week when they found out you werenât really much use for anything that things started getting bad.
You breathe in through your nose and proclaim Heraâs hair finished. She thanks you and races off to find Annie, determined to put the ribbon she picked in the younger girlâs hair.
The Bahrs arenât like the innkeepers. Whoever they adopt wonât be expected to know how to read or do math or how to take care of horses. If they are required to then Marie and Ivan will teach them first. Both have spent enough time at the orphanage for you to believe that. Isnât it Marie whoâs teaching all of you your letters? Wasnât it Ivan who taught you how to better put up a fence?
Whoever they choose will be fine, you think. Itâs both a relief and a sting. Whoever they choose will be fine. Itâs just probably not going to be you. Not when Annie is so sweet and social and Hera is so strong and kind. Not when Josiah works so hard to soak up everything they have to teach him.
âIs everyone ready?â Director Sarah asks. Sheâs standing by the door. Her clothes are nicer than usual too, a dress made of a light blue fabric youâve never seen before. Her hair is carefully combed back into an updo and fastened with a tie Hera made for her last winter. She runs a critical eye over all of you. âYou all look very nice. Josiah, tie your shoes, please. Annie, leave the slate in your room, what you do if you lost it? HonestlyâŠâ
You let Director Sarah fuss over the kids, slipping out the door ahead of everyone. You donât own a dress, but the button-down shirt is new and starched. Director Sarah helped you embroider bluebells on the collar and sleeves, and you think it turned out well.
You may not be getting adopted today, but youâre excited to see the Bahr familyâs estate. The sun is warm overhead, the sky an endless blue. The summer is mild this year, perfect for a party. Isnât that what Mr. Bahr â Ivan â told you to think of it as? A party. No strings attached.
A wagon comes up the lane. The Bahr familyâs home is too far for the younger kids to walk to, past the town and closer to the Lordâs manor. They said theyâd send a wagon for all of you, but something still clenches in your chest when you actually see it. Wagons are an expense the orphanage canât justify, but, apparently, the Bahrs can.
The driver smiles kindly when he pulls up next to you. âEveryone ready to go?â
Before you can answer, the kids are pouring out the front door, chattering excitedly. You help Director Sarah lift the smaller ones into the seats near the front. The wagon is open topped, so Director Sarah can look over everyone sternly, twisting around in her spot next to the driver.
âNo playing during the ride,â she instructs. âMr. Dallen is very kindly driving us so you must listen to him, alright?â
Mr. Dallen also turns around. âI donât have too many rules,â he says. He pretends to think, scratching his thick beard. Â He grins âDonât fall out!â
Heâs joking, but thatâs why youâre stationed at the back of the wagon. From your seat, youâll be able to stop any roughhousing before âfalling outâ becomes a real danger. Already youâre eyeing the way Josiah is fidgeting. Heâs incredibly calm when heâs reading, but otherwise heâs like a tornado. Thereâs a reason heâs the one that fell into the well in the first place. Hera sits primly next to him, her hands folded in her lap. You can tell sheâs watching him from the corner of her eye. Thereâs a reason sheâs the one who pulled Josiah out of the well.
Mr. Dallen directs the horses away from the orphanage, through the orchard, and along the road cutting through the fields. When youâre going to the forest to hunt, you take the narrower path that winds through the orchard and more directly into the tree line. The wagon is forced to stay on the wider road where the horses wonât sink into any mud and the wagon wheels wonât catch on rocks or dense foliage.
After the fields is the town. The kids wave to every Villager and Blacksmith they see. âGood day!â âMorning!â âWeâre going to a picnic!â Hera pulls Annie back from the edge of the wagon before she tips over onto the street.
You slouch in your seat, wishing you were wearing a hat. While the first family who adopted you left town ages ago to live in the Capital, the innkeepers are still around. You donât look as you pass their business and try not to listen to Josiah carefully sounding out the name of their inn.
When you open your eyes, Director Sarah is looking at you. You okay? She mouths. She wasnât at the orphanage for your first adoption, but she was there for the innkeepers. You feign going to sleep. Just tired. She pretends to believe you and turns back to continue chatting with Mr. Dallen.
The kids are excited to go through the forest. Many of them are too young to even go into town with Director Sarah, a privilege you earn at ten years old, and they point to every bird, deer and mushroom they see amongst the trees. You let the sound of nature and the kidsâ chatter lull you into a sort of meditation. The estate is only thirty minutes away now that youâre out of town.
Youâre nearly dropping off to sleep when Director Sarahâs voice changes in pitch. Your sensitive hearing can pick up a thread of concern in her voice. What makes Director Sarah concerned, makes you concerned.
ââdemons in the woods,â Sarah is saying very quietly. She glances out of her peripherals towards the back to make sure no kids are listening. If she notices how youâre only pretending to sleep, she doesnât show any sign of it. âShouldnât we ask the kids to be quiet?â
âThe Lordâs Knights have been patrolling,â Mr. Dallen says equally quietly. You can see him scan the trees for a moment before he smiles reassuringly at Director Sarah. âWeâll be okay so long as we stick to the road.â
âAlright.â
You keep a closer eye on the surrounding forest.
âThere! There it is!â
Annieâs shout drags you attention from a (suspiciously) shadowed gully. The woods have thinned enough that hedges of the Bahrsâ estate can be seen. Youâve only been out this far once, a long, long time ago. Youâve never been past this point.
Youâre just as surprised as the rest of the kids when the hedges give way to a castle.
Thatâs not a manor. Youâve never seen either, but youâre sure of this. Manors are supposed to look like the orphanage or any of the buildings in town, just larger. The Bahrsâ home has towers. The front doors are three times the height of a regular one and you can see that the handles and knockers are made of copper. The stone isnât white like the castles in picture books, but itâs clean and neatly cut.
âWow,â Hera breathes.
You agree.
Mr. Dallen directs the horses right up the main driveway, cheerfully explaining that the roses are the flower of the estate, arenât they beautiful? Even Hera can only manage a faint noise of agreement, eyes wide on the house.
âThe partyâs around back,â Mr. Dallen says cheerfully. He clicks his tongue and the horses stop just short of the front doors. âIâll take you there.â
Around back. You expect him to lead you around the side of the castle, past rows of rose bushes and the fountains that are tucked between the hedges. Instead, Mr. Dallen opens the front doors without knocking and directs everyone to follow him.
Youâve never seen anywhere so grand. The kids follow Mr. Dallen in hushed awe, gaping at the marble staircase that bisects the foyer. There are two chandeliers to either side of the grand staircase that each send a spray of rainbow light across the walls. Is the manor a little bare? The walls empty of portraits and artwork? You eye a pair of crossed axes hanging just beyond the shadow of the staircase.
âTheyâre ordering portraits from the Capital,â Mr. Dallen says, gesturing carelessly to the space where a portrait of the homeowners might hang. Then under his breath, âUnless they hang more swords there instead.â
âExcuse me?â Hera asks.
âNothing,â Mr. Dallen says cheerfully. He guides them past the staircase and a row of doors to the back of the house. The large doors at the back of the house are already open. Mr. Dallen cups a hand over his mouth and calls, âHo ho, look here! Look whoâs arrived!â
âSurprise!â Ivan shouts, throwing his hands up in the air. Heâs standing on the stone patio just outside the house, but heâs not the only one. Mrs. Bahr is next to him, her hands clasped in front of her, beaming. Behind her is a dozen other adults. âItâs a party!â
âWelcome,â Mrs. Bahr says warmly. Sheâs dressed elegantly in a long, red tunic thatâs embroidered with the Lordâs crest. The Lord is here as well, his golden hair and eyes unmistakable even amongst the crowd. âWelcome to our home.â
Youâre already at the back of the group, but you hang back further as the younger kids cautiously step out into the sun. Your eyes flick from face to face. You recognize a few of the people. Thereâs the Baker from town and her wife, thereâs the Merchant that comes through every third week, thereâs the Villager that donates zucchiniâ
And there are the innkeepers who, once upon a time, told you to call them your parents. Theyâre older than you remember, light hair gone silver in the sun, but itâs them. Theyâre right by the Lord, eagerly waiting near him for the opportunity to talk.
Itâs very clear what this is. You watch the kids stream out onto the patio to greet Ivan and Marie. The other adults study the kids like zoo animals, eyes flicking to their clean party outfits to their happy faces. This isnât a party for the kids. Itâs a party for them. Theyâre showing off to each other. Look at how great they are! Theyâre helping out the poor orphan kids! Youâre very familiar with these sort of events from back when the other Director was in charge. You just didnât think youâd ever have to be near one again.
You take a step back and are stopped by Director Sarah.
âItâs okay, Isla,â Director Sarah murmurs. You didnât even notice her falling back to your side. Her hand is gentle on your elbow. âItâs not what you think.â
Not what you think? You watch the Villager who runs the general store ask Josiah about the book heâs reading. The Bahrs are proudly introducing Annie and Hera to the Lord. There is something different about it, but you canât quite put your finger on it. All you can see is the way the adults are watching the kids. You breathe in through your nose like Ivan taught you. In. Out. âWhat is it?â
âFixing my mistake,â Director Sarah says.
That gets your attention. Your eyes dart from the happy scene in front of you to Sarah and back again. With the white umbrellas over the food tables, the streamers strung between garden trellises, and the kids dressed in their best, it looks like a painting. In contract, Sarahâs lips are pursed and the shadows of the house make her appear more tired than she is.
âThereâs a parlor,â Mr. Dallen says. You jump when he speaks and he grimaces apologetically. He jerks a thumb over his shoulder. âIf you need to talk.â
Marie is looking over the heads of the kids to where youâre standing, a frown on her face. She mouths your name, concern in her eyes. Your jaw clenches when the Merchant steps in front of her, hiding you from view.
âYeah,â you say. âLetâs talk.â You spin on your heel.
Sarah follows you silently. You feel wrong-footed and caged by the entire situation. This was supposed to be a picnic, wasnât it? No strings attached? Your dress shirt is tight around your neck and you flick open the top button.
âI should have told you,â Sarah says as soon as the door closes. There are two couches in the room adjacent to a large window that overlooks the party. Neither of you sits down. Sarah folds her hands in front of her skirts. âI apologize.â
âWhat are they doing here?â you ask. You gesture to the window. âThe Lord, I understand. Heâs the Lord. But the Baker? The Merchant?â You bark a laugh. âTheyâre not here to adopt anyone.â
âMaybe not,â Sarah says evenly, âbut theyâre good connections to have.â
âConnections?â You scoff. You remember watching the empty road through that winter nearly seven years ago. âWhat good are their connections?â
âAnnie loves baking,â Sarah says. She doesnât flinch in the face of your anger. She watches you calmly and doesnât so much as shift her weight when you start to pace. âThe Baker is a good connection for her to have, even if she doesnât want to adopt. Many of the shopkeepers in town are open to taking on apprentices.â
You falter. You didnât think about that. Your eyes drift towards the window. You can hear Hera laughing and Josiah complaining good naturedly. Youâre nearly 15, just a few years away from aging out. You canât say youâve never thought about the future before. âThey said theyâd be willing to do that?â
âWho knows what the future holds?â Sarah sighs and goes to take a seat on the sofa. She makes a sound low in her throat when she sits. âThat wagon ride was not good for my back.â
âI donât trust them,â you say. You stop pacing to sit opposite her. From this point in the room, you can see the party on the patio. They can also see you. Ivan doesnât turn away from the dessert table, but you can sense his attention on you. You swallow. âWe donât need anything from them.â
âI agree,â Sarah says.
You blink. âWhat?â
Sarah laughs. Itâs not her usual laugh that she shows the kids, gentle and fond and warm. Itâs cold and a little sharp. Youâve only heard it once before when the snow finally melted, chasing the snow spirits away, and the town came to see what had become of the orphanage.
âYou and I are a lot alike,â Sarah says. Her eyes drift somewhere distant. âLike you, I remember that Winter. I remember waiting for any sort of response to our pleas. I remember hearing nothing back. The helplessness I felt as our stores dwindledâŠâ Her voice cracks. She shakes herself, swallowing hard. âWell. I donât need to tell you what their lack of aid cost us.â
It takes you two tries to speak. Director Sarah feels the same way as you. âSo why?â
âWhy did I agree to the party?â
âYes.â
âBecause I need to forgive, not forget, if I want to fix my mistake,â Sarah says. Her lips thin. âIâm not perfect. Since Iâve been Director of the orphanage, there hasnât been a single new hire. There have been no volunteers or extracurricular programs for the kids. Iâve kept us hidden.â
âYouâve kept us protected,â you say. Things under Director Sarah have always been better than what they were before. The kids are happier and brighter, and the pantry is always full. No one disappears in the middle of the night or dies under her watch. âWe know you have.â
âIâve tried,â Sarah says. She opens her hands, palms facing the ceiling. âI rebuilt the orphanage to be independent. I thought that if we were completely self-sustaining, weâd be alright. But in doing so Iâve hurt the children. The orphanage is not supposed to be forever. They need connections with people, with the town, for when they grow up.â
âThatââ You donât know what youâre going to say. You fall silent, your anger fizzling out in your chest. Sheâs right. As much as you want everyone to stay together, you know that canât happen. What Sarah is saying isnât wrong, but⊠âToday is supposed to be for the kids. Not for them to feel better about themselves helping the orphans.â
âThe kids are having fun,â Sarah says. Thereâs a peal of laughter from outside as if to underscore her words. She smiles as she stands. âKids includes you too, you know. Let me worry about the adults.â
You stand too. You know the conversation is coming to a close and that, soon, youâll be expected to go out there with Sarah. âUmâŠâ
âYes?â
You nearly donât say it. But the way Sarah is waiting for you to speak is so patient that you muster up the courage. âThe innkeepers are here. They arenâtâŠ?â
Again, youâre not sure what youâre about to say. Thereâs a sick fear in your stomach that theyâre here to tell the Bahrs all about how awful you were when you with them. Maybe theyâre looking for another kid to demand too much of. Maybe theyâre here because, in the end, you didnât mean anything to them and what happened between you and them doesnât make a difference--
Even if you donât know what youâre going to say, Sarah must. Her smile darkens. âIâll take care of the adults,â she repeats. She smooths her hand over your hair when you follow her to the door. âWhy donât you stay in here for a moment? Iâll just have a word with the innkeepers.â
You wait in the parlor while Sarah joins the party. You twist your hands together to keep from picking at the embroidery on your sleeves. You almost want to stop Sarah from talking to the innkeepers. It was so long ago, before the Winter, it shouldnât matter anymore. Youâre being ridiculous to be so worried about them when there are bigger things going on. Youâ
Hera throws open the door to the parlor. Her braids are a little frizzy already and thereâs a flush high on her cheeks. âIsla! Weâre playing team tag and youâre the only one fast enough to catch Marie. Come on!â
You donât have the option to say no. Hera yanks you by the sleeve out onto the patio. The guests are much more dispersed now, pockets of adults around this table or that. Theyâre not studying the kids now. Theyâre just watching them as they run to and fro across the lawn, bemused smiles on their faces.
Ivan cheers when he sees you. Like Hera, his face is bright red. âIsla!â he pants. âYouâre on my team!â
Marie sprints past, her skirts hiked up to her knee. She runs as if sheâs in full armor, strides long and shoulders square. You wonder if she notices no one is chasing her anymore. âIt wonât be enough!â she cries.
Josiah is laying on the grass. He chucks his fist in the air. âGo, Marie! Go!â He gasps for breath. âWeâre unstoppable.â
âYouâre out,â Annie tells him crossly. Sheâs also laying flat on her back, but seems to be faring better in the breathing department. âYouâve stopped.â
âShut itââ
You scan the crowd. You donât see the innkeepers anywhere, not even near where the Lord is sitting. You look over your shoulder back towards the house just in time to see Director Sarah disappearing around the corner. Sheâs talking to someone just ahead of her. Is she escorting the innkeepers out?
âIsla?â Hera slips her hand in yours. Her eyes are knowing. âYou okay?â
You clear your throat, aware of all the eyes on you. You tuck  some hair thatâs escaped her braid behind her ear. âJust trying to decide which team I should join.â
Ivan cries out in dismay. âIsla, please!â
Grinning, you join the game.

Here's an art/info dump about this stupidly cute idea that's been rotating in my brain for three day.
(the first comic here is just how they first met. they ended up in the same alley, pestering the same cat without noticing. Then the cat left and they notice they're not alone lol)
(Second is Donnie 'talking' with Mikey for the first time. He only uses Mind Mend to communicate and is just as surprised as Mikey to find it worked on him. (it has only worked with Leo before this))
I'll put the rest under a break b/c i will be going off about this and i don't want it to take up your entire feed.
I'm jokingly calling this "Mikey's Imaginary Friends" though that might change if i continue this.
Basically it's this, the twins grew up with Draxum while Raph and Mikey grew up with Splinter. Neither set knew about the other (b/c splinter though they were dead and didn't want his two remaining kids to worry about it, and Draxum was too focused on fixing his lab to pay much attention to the twins.) So, imagine Mikey's shock when, at age 8, he's out exploring topside (having snuck out) and runs into two more mutant turtles (who also snuck out and are exploring.) Thus begins an ongoing sneaking out to meet up thing between the three b/c Mikey's excited to have new friends and the twins are just as fascinated with Mikey as he is with them.
And before you ask, "hey, why doesn't Mikey tell his family about the two other turtles?" he does. Raph thinks he just made up some imaginary friends so he plays along but doesn't believe they're real. Splinter, on the other hand, thinks he's talking to Hamato ancestors due to some very big miscommunications (that i'll probably draw out at some point b/c it's silly)
Twins background wise, i'm still thinking through a lot of it, but i'll put my thoughts down anyways.
Draxum knew that training the twins at a young age would be counterproductive, so he doesn't train them beyond some basics a few times a week. Other than those sessions, he leaves them alone with their less-than-stellar caretaker, in favor of rebuilding his lab. The caretaker doesn't do much for them beyond give them food and very basic school like lessons. Beyond that the twins are left on their own.
they come to the conclusion that the only people that will care for them is themselves. They discover Mind Meld very early as a result of this and will not talk verbally b/c they found out early on with their caretaker, that if they tried to talk, they were just ignored anyways, so what's the point.
(I'm also thinking Donnie might be deaf or hard of hearing in this, with the pair of them using Mind Meld as a way for him to temporarily hear through Leo and thus keep Drax from finding out. but i'll have to do some more research before i decide for sure/figure out the specifics)
as for Meeting Mikey
That's why they became so fascinated with mikey. B/c mikey was the first person that treated them like a person and not a job or an incomplete experiment. (He's also so happy and bright, they can't avoid getting drawn to him lol)
Mikey's probably the only one they verbally start talking to, even after they teach him mind meld. (though Leo's the one to pick up on that more than Donnie. Donnie doesn't do much talking at all outside mind meld).
They also come out of their shells (hehe) a lot as they interact more with Mikey. Before they met him, they acted more like automatons, even when alone. The more they socialize with Mikey, the sillier these two get. Leo learns about puns and starts going mad with them, Donnie starts happy stimming about thing (which he has either been suppressing or just never had the urge to do before.) Basically they stop acting like little creepy statues and start acting like kids.
Honestly, it's just a cute idea with the kiddos meeting each other and Mikey inadvertently socializing his not-well-socialized brothers.
(also, the twins wear masks b/c Donnie doesn't like the smell of the city and he's worried about germs. Not for any ninja reasons, what so ever.)
Alright, that's it for my info dump. maybe more later? Maybe not? Depends on how much longer these kids keep my attentions (though right now, they're doing a pretty good job at it lol)

was thinking about that wayne buying little steve cereal text post and was wondering if you still plan to write the fic its inspired? if so i am definitely looking forward to it and am cheering you on. if not that's cool too, i was just curious!
Unfortunately, I donât think Iâll ever actually write the fic. But! I will tell you what I had in mind because it wasnât supposed to be a sad fic!
Wayne starts noticing this kid around town.
He shouldnât. He doesnât notice any other kid, and this boy is well-dressed. He seems polite enough and well-behaved. Thereâs no reason that Wayne should pay him any mind, except⊠the hair. Itâs a mess. Itâs brushed up and backwards like the person who fixed it didnât quite know what they were doing.
He keeps seeing that hair everywhere.
Itâs asking questions at the hardware store about lightbulbs. Itâs distracting Bob at the Radio Shack. Itâs taking up half the aisle at Melvardâs with a cart it canât see over, and asking Wayne, âMister, can you reach the floss for me, please?â
Thereâs nothing out of the ordinary, honestly, but Wayne feels a might uncomfortable every time he sees this head of hair (a bit more stylish than the last) doing something that a parent might do. Especially because he never sees a parent.
It comes to head when heâs three people back in line at Melvardâs and people are complaining. He sticks his head out to see what the hold up is and sees that head of hair again, counting out quarters and dimes at the counter for a box of cheerios.
Davey, in front of him, swears under his breath and bounces on his feet like heâs about to say something, but Wayne beats him to it. Wayne takes the few steps up to the counter, looks Donald in the eye and wishes that it had been Joyce Byers instead.
He sits his carton of eggs and gallon of milk down on the counter next to the kidâs cereal and tells Don to ring it all up together. Then he tells the kid, âPut your money away, boy.â
He tries to talk to him outside the store, but the boy squeaks out âthanksâ and is running before Wayne can get anything out. He doesnât see him for a while after that, and he canât stop thinking about how hungry he looked.
A month and some change later, Wayne finds himself sliding into a booth at the diner across from the kid with the hair. Heâs devouring slices of toast, pennies and nickels counted out on the table next to him.
The kid startles, and Wayne cuts to the point, âYou hungry?â
The kid nods in that skittish way that reminds him of his nephew and Wayne orders two plates of pancakes. He lets the boy eat before he asks where his parents are. He gets no answer. He asks if he has enough food at home. The kidâs eye flicker to him and then back down, âUsually.â
He clicks his tongue, swears internally, and asks how often heâs left alone and hungry, and the boy says, âTheir flight got delayed.â
The boy shrugs his shoulders and explains the money they leave him, and how sometimes heâs runs out but heâs learning better. It crushes Wayne just a little that he seems so proud of himself. Wayne gives the kid his number and tells him that if heâs ever hungry to call him.
For a while, Steve would call sporadically. Sometimes goes weeks, sometimes months. Theyâd meet at the diner and eat. This eventually lead to Wayne cooking for him in his trailer, then to him teaching Steve the basics, then to them cooking together.
Steve got older. He got a credit card. He got busier with school, and sports, and his friends. He didnât need Wayne to feed him anymore, but they still tried to have dinner at least once a month.
When Eddie came to live with Wayne, he told him that Stevie came to dinner every third Saturday of the month. Eddie assumed Stevie was Wayneâs girlfriend.
The first Saturday that passed, Steve had to cancel because he had a basketball game. The second Saturday, Steveâs parents were in town so he couldnât come. The third, Steve no showed, called the next day delirious with flu and apologized to Wayne.
The fourth Saturday rolls around and Eddie is thinking, âMan, this chick does not like Wayne. He needs to break up with his girlfriend before it gets really sad.â
Then there is a knock at the door, and Eddie opens it to the biggest jock asshole in the school.
Eddie stares at Steve in horror, and Steve stares back in total confusion, and then they both get annoyed like, âWhat are you doing here?â
Then cut to Eddie calling Steve out on bullying and Steve tattling about Eddie walking on the lunch tables. They bicker and argue, and Wayne secretly loves it.
#you can actually see the moment this fic idea ran out of steam for me#as I get less and less descriptive#if anybody likes this idea than you are more than willing to take it and write the fic#just let me know so I can read it#wayne munson#steve harrington#eddie munson
