What's your opinion on Supergirl?
Supergirl’s cool! We've worked together on a few cases in both Gotham and Metropolis and we get along very well. I respect and admire her. Sometimes I wish I had her superpowers to make crimefighting easier.
Plus, from what she's told me, her adjustment to our planet and Metropolis mustn’t have been easy.
Thanks for the question, Anon!

Imagine a world where Bruce Wayne did not become Batman. Instead, he is just a Normal Dude. Or as normal as a billionaire deeply dedicated philanthropy in a city as insane as Gotham can be.
Because make no mistake: just because Bruce is not Batman does not mean Gotham is not Gotham.
There are a few new players though—on the Rogues side.
Timothy Drake is the teen business tycoon of Drake Industries. Absent of the inspiration of Batman and the socialization and warmth of Dick Grayson, he is ruthless and logical to a fault in pursuit of his goals and just as viciously chaotic as the disaster little brother Jason knows.
In other words, he’s Gotham’s youngest supervillian. The only good news is his chosen nemesis is Lex Luthor. Maybe. Timothy doesn’t care much about collateral damage. It’s not his goal to harm civilians, but he certainly doesn’t include their safety as a priority in his convoluted schemes to mess with Luthor.
Talon is an undead murderer who slaughtered a huge swath the Gotham’s 1% five years ago and, despite being spotted many times since, has never been apprehended. He appears when he wants and disappears just as readily, and Gotham just has to accept there’s a killer stalking their streets and there’s nothing they can do about it. Sometimes Talon has been known to rescue people, especially, but it’s never clear how or why exactly Talon chooses who is victim verses aggressor. And the end is always brutal and bloody for those Talon deems aggressor.
Damian is still Bruce’s biological son and raised by Talia in the League of Assassins. But when he was left in Gotham and met his father, this Bruce was so baffled and thrown by a child assassin that Damian immediately takes as rejection and runs away. (He doesn’t even stay long enough for Bruce to be sure it wasn’t a hallucination or very strange dream).
Damian is almost immediately found and adopted by Talon, so now Gotham has TWO bird-themed killers liable to jump down on you from nowhere and for any reason.
Oh, and god help you if you so much as make Talon’s baby Owlet sad. If you’re lucky, it will be the last thing you do.
Barbara is an ordinary librarian…who can be hired as a mercenary hacker for the right price. The public isn’t afraid of her because they don’t know she exists. More than one politician or public figure has been ruined because of the blackmail she unearthed on them. But what side exactly is the police commissioner’s daughter on? And how much of Gotham does she have under thumb?
(Is she a secret ally and accessory to Timothy Drake’s many plots?)
Steph, thank god, is actually NOT a villain, super or otherwise. She’s the one vigilante attempting to help Gotham. Spoiler has connections among some of the caped community like Supergirl or Wonder Girl. But without Bat training or the police cooperation forged years ago by Batman, she’s mostly just striving to survive while taking on Gotham’s many, many gang. Make no mistake, she’s impressive. But desperate. Spoiler comes with guns and explosions. So. Many. Explosions. Gotham has never heard of the “no kill” rule. And likely never will.
(Cass also lives in Gotham. But no one will ever see her or even know she’s there.)
Jason….well. Baby Jason never stole any Batmobile tires and never was adopted by a strange but kind billionaire. He was never killed at 15.
He died in the winter before he turned 13.
And then one day, Adult Canon Jason gets thrown into this dimension. And somehow Gothan is WORSE?! How is that even possible? Also his siblings are running around being super villains and killing people? Bruce! Control your children!!
But this Bruce does not have children (he’s still mostly convinced Damian was a prank or hallucination). He is horrified by the idea of children fighting crime. He has absolutely no idea how to handle exceptionally talented chaos machines with too much passion and no sense of self preservation. And he’s frankly a little disturbed by Jason himself and his guns and refusal to “work within the system” and Jason nopes out of there so freaking fast.
Jason also, slowly, has to become okay with the realization that his siblings are not insane because they were made Robin. They became Robin because they were already insane. There was no way to create a normal human being out of any of them.
(Jason does not want to look too closely at what that says about him.)
In the end, Jason teams up with Steph. He connects her with Dick/Talon, who is more than happy to have a new Owlet to train and preen, and Damian only slightly stabs her. They manage to persuade/threaten Tim into caring enough to help get Jason back to his dimension with misuse of Drake Industry research equipment. Damian very much does stab Tim. Tim retaliates by locking Damian in an industrial freezer. Dick thinks they’re bonding. Jason introduces them to Babs, but frankly he has no idea what he’s hoping to achieve from this. Probably nothing good because Dick, despite being an under-socialized undead assassin with some weird mannerisms and ways of speaking, still manages to pull a woman way out his league like Barbie. And Babs seems to have no problem with the “murder” part that description.
Jason never realized how much Bruce’s strict moral code and “the Mission” were key to the rest of them becoming remotely positive influences in society. Or how little Bruce has to do with his siblings getting into dangerous, violent situation. He doesn’t like anything about it.
They work out how send Jason back, and he returns to his dimension with the feeling he’s just left Alternate Gotham to a gang of supervillains.
…at least they’re together?
And Talon Dick won’t let any of his new Owlets die and will rain bloody vengeance on anyone who tries. So that’s good. For them at least.
(Jason feels absurdly like he should be apologizing to this universe’s Bruce. Or. Someone. He doesn’t. But he feels like he should.)
Back at in his dimension and at the Batcave, Jason pauses and just stares at Batman for a very, very long time. Finally, he takes a deep breath and solemnly nods just once before taking off into the Manor for Alfred’s cookies.
Bruce has no idea what the fuck just happened.

Having Arachnid Powers and Dating Lena Luthor Would Include...
Tumblr media
Request
@sandwichitodemilanesa could you please write what would include dating lena, being a kind of spider woman? probably have gotten your power because of Lena's dad or brother experiments to make a superhuman but now you're trying to be a super friend and save the world . thanks  you so much <3
A/N: Hello y'all, sorry for being MIA, honestly adulthood is kinda sucking my soul, but as I've said before I'm still around. This time doing this little piece that was such fun honestly, also I love sandiwichitos de milanesa so I just couldn't ignore it. Thank you so much for the request and I hope you enjoy it! <3
Lena Luthor x Superhero Fem!R/Arachnid Powers/Word Count: 1,388
-------------------------------------------------------
Your story starting the first time Lena ever saw you, you were on the news, stopping a bank robbery.
You were using nothing but a black hoodie, grey pants, a ski mask, and a pair of worn out shoes, and had disappeared before Supergirl could arrive.
The cameras spotted you swinging your way out through the building of National City, using what at first she imagined were hook-shots.
Like the rest of the city, she started seeing you more often on the news with growing curiosity as you helped all citizens.
The news outlets trying to come up with names for you; "The Human Spider", "The Web Slinger", "The Wall Crawler", "Arachnid Woman".
Your first close encounter with Lena was during a supervillian attack on L-Corp. The top floors were crumbling while Supergirl was fighting and you appeared, saving all the people from the falling debris, including her.
You carried her in your arms as you used your webs to pull you down to the ground, keeping her safe but leaving before she could say anything.
She and the whole DEO searching for you after that, wanting to know who you were and where you came from.
Lena investigating you but coming to dead ends, trying to understand you and your powers from what she sees in the news and DEO reports.
Losing hope after many months only for you to swing to her office balcony one night as she looked down the city.
"I believe you and your friends have been looking for me."
"Mostly me, but yes."
"What for?"
"I wanted to thank you, for saving my life."
Distrusting Lena initially due to personal reasons and avoiding further contact but slowly getting used to her as you came to her aid several more times.
"We should stop meeting in life threatening situations, Miss Luthor."
"We certainly should, and I still don't know your name."
"I guess you can call me (Y/N), for now."
Warming up to her and even visiting her a few times at her office. Always reaching her floor by crawling on the side of her building or swinging with your webs to avoid being spotted.
You always work this late, Miss Luthor?
I could ask the same.
You know what they say, crime never sleeps.
Lena noticing more and more of how your powers work, even making you a suit to help you out, leaving it on her balcony with a little note after leaving early from work one day.
Smiling at the gesture and the news making noise about your new look the next day, giving you new superhero names and such.
Going to her office more often and starting to enjoy your small conversations with her and the balcony kind of becoming your meeting place.
Finally building enough trust to tell her who you were and explain how you got your powers.
Telling her you had been very sick, almost too far gone a few years back, when her brother offered you some sort of experimental treatment for your illness. You accepted and Lex brought you to Luthorcorp.
Little did you know, her brother had been running illegal and dangerous human experiments in there.
You had woken up in a cryosleep chamber years later in a secret facility, as you had been the only survivor of his experiments and the only one who seemed to assimilate your new given powers correctly.
"I had nothing and nowhere to go but I didn't want to use my powers to take advantage of people."
Lena offering you a place to stay and helping you go back on track with your life.
Supergirl and Alex also offering you a place in the DEO but refusing as places like that bring you bad memories but offering your help back in case they need it.
Having a bit of trouble adapting your new life with the superhero gig going on but Lena helping you as best as she can with everything you need.
"What if I say I need a million dollars?"
Lena discovering your funny dorky side.
Your relationship with Lena growing over time as she helps you settle as the newest heroine of National City.
Lena helping you design your supersuit and inventing new devices for you.
"I think I need to come up with a superhero name. People are starting to call me 'The Tarantula' and 'Black Widow'."
"Mmh, maybe you would like something more classic?"
"Like what?"
"How about… 'Arachne'?"
Her choosing your new name and going along with it.
Visiting her regularly when the city seems calmer and conversing for hours in her balcony.
Developing a soft spot for her and finally inviting her to move with you through the city.
"You know I have a driver and a car, right?"
"Swinging is faster, you can avoid a lot of traffic."
Lena actually enjoying the rides with you, although only the short ones.
Lena introducing you to the Superfriends.
"So, spider powers, uh? What's that exactly? Extra eyes? Extra legs? Can you stick to any surface?"
"No extra limbs as far as I'm aware…and I suppose I can stick to anything, uh, so far?"
"Cool. And the web, does it come from-?"
"Alex, stop."
"I'm just asking. What? As if you aren't curious too."
Lena helping you train and taking the chance to analyze and help you with your own powers.
She realizing she worries about you the more you get involved in fights to protect National City, particularly when Kara isn't in town.
She being the one to patch you up at your place when you don't want to stay at the DEO.
"You should see the other guy. The other guy, in this instance, being a killer croc."
Lena visiting your place and spending more time with you outside her office and the DEO.
Putting more attention to her and her safety when a fight or battle breaks lose.
Realizing after many of those you like her more than you think and going to her balcony one night to confess your feelings.
Lena admitting the same and being happy about it as you ask her to go on a date with you.
Spending your first date with Lena watching the sunset from the highest place of the city after a rooftop picnic.
Lena making sure to leave L-Corp early to spend more time with you.
Helping each other when there are criminals on the loose and being very protective of Lena if there's any after her.
Upside down kisses.
Taking her to dates by swinging around the city and her offering her limousine from time to time as a way to spoil you.
Making it official and the Superfriends being really supportive and happy for you.
Being awkward and nerdy around each other.
Very interesting moments in bed.
Grabbing food or coffee for her any chance you can so you can visit her at her office.
Dates on her office balcony also becoming a regular thing.
Sticking upside down out of her window and knocking at it at the end of her office hours to take her home.
Enjoying swinging around the city just to keep her clinging to you.
"You better hold on tight, spider-monkey."
"Is that a Twilight reference? I shouldn't have let Kara convince us to watch those."
Lots of game nights with the Superfriends and always teaming up with Lena.
Lena being your unofficial handler and she always being on your side whatever happens on your fights and missions.
You always supporting Lena and her ideas, but knowing when to call her out when things feel out of hand.
She doing the same with you, particularly when you feel responsible for everyone.
"I'm sorry, (Y/N), sometimes the hardest thing about this is you can't always save everybody."
Hugs so tight and long they feel like home.
Leaving Lena huge messages around different spaces of the city written with your web. Mostly hearts with her initial in the middle.
Being really close and intimate on your alone moments.
Always coming to aid the Superfriends when they need you or teaming up with Alex and the DEO.
Lena spoiling you with new gadgets and even making you a new suit with nano-tech.
"Like Kara's, but way cooler."
"Oh yes, but don't let her hear you say that."

A Hero's First Flight / BlackHill x Supergirl! Female Reader
Tumblr media
During the Chitauri invasion, Y/n, a Kryptonian university student, reveals her powers to aid the Avengers but disappears before they can meet her. Years later, now known as Supergirl, she helps during the Winter Soldier crisis. After S.H.I.E.L.D.’s fall, Maria Hill and Natasha Romanoff track her down, and the three grow closer as they fight crime together.
Word count: 4259
A/n: This was requested by an anon. Enjoy it!
The day started like any other. Y/n was just a college student—Kryptonian heritage or not—trying to survive finals season. But when the sky over New York split open, and the Chitauri poured through the portal, all thoughts of exams vanished. It was the kind of disaster that demanded action. And for the first time, she couldn’t keep her powers a secret.
The chaos of the invasion was overwhelming. Buildings crumbled, civilians screamed, and the Avengers fought with everything they had—but they were outnumbered. Y/n made a split-second decision, shedding her normal life like a second skin.
With the wind in her hair and her heart hammering in her chest, Y/n soared into the fray. The makeshift costume—just her college sweatshirt and jeans—wasn’t exactly heroic, but she didn’t have time to care. Y/n hit the Chitauri like a meteor, fists glowing with heat vision as she tore through their ranks. Thor shot her a surprised look; Iron Man barely dodged her in mid-flight.
Natasha Romanoff and Maria Hill saw her too—briefly. Y/n locked eyes with them during a lull in the chaos. Natasha’s brow arched in curiosity, and Maria’s calculating gaze pinned her like a hawk sighting prey. But there was no time to talk. As quickly as Y/n had come, she vanished into the smoke and the sky.
Two Years Later – Washington D.C.
The years since the invasion hadn’t been easy, but they had shaped Y/n into a hero. Now, with a proper suit—a vibrant blend of red, blue, and gold—she was known to the world as Supergirl. She’d fought rogue metas, intercepted disasters, and even helped the Avengers once or twice. But today was different. Today was Hydra.
The helicarriers loomed above Washington D.C., ready to rain destruction upon countless innocent lives. And Y/n wasn’t about to let that happen.
While Captain America and his team fought on the ground, Y/n focused on the sky. Grabbing the first helicarrier by the underbelly, she carefully directed it toward the river. It took every ounce of control she had—raw strength tempered with precision—to land it safely without damaging the city below.
Y/n was guiding the third helicarrier down when she spotted them—Maria and Natasha—on a rooftop, both watching her with an intensity that sent a shiver down her spine. Once again, their eyes met, and something flickered between them. Recognition. Curiosity. Maybe even relief. But just like before, there wasn’t time for words.
With the mission complete, and the helicarriers grounded without casualties, Y/n gave them a small nod before shooting into the sky, disappearing once more.
———————-
The fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. left a power vacuum in the world—and Maria Hill and Natasha Romanoff at a crossroads. They could’ve gone underground and vanished into the shadows like so many other agents. But instead, they tracked Y/n down.
When they showed up in Y/n’s city, it wasn’t with orders or missions—it was with the quiet promise of partnership. “We figured if you’re staying, we might as well help,” Maria had said with that calm, unflappable tone Y/n was beginning to associate with her.
Y/n wasn’t used to having partners—not in the long term, at least. But Maria and Natasha were patient. They followed her lead, slipping seamlessly into her routines as they patrolled the streets and dealt with smaller threats—smugglers, burglars, and the occasional rogue metahuman.
And somewhere between the fights and quiet nights, the three of them started to fit in.
It happened gradually, almost imperceptibly at first. The three of them began to sync—their movements on patrol flowing as if they’d trained together for years. Natasha’s dry humor kept the night light, and Maria’s steady presence grounded Y/n in ways she hadn’t realized she needed.
It was the little things that stuck with Y/n. The way Natasha’s hand would brush hers as they walked down dark streets. The way Maria’s shoulder would linger against hers when they stood side by side on rooftops.
And then, one night, things shifted.
They’d just taken down a group of smugglers, the adrenaline still thrumming in Y/n’s veins as she sat on the edge of a rooftop. Natasha leaned casually against her side, the warmth of her body seeping into her. Maria sat on Y/n’s other side, her hand resting on her thigh in a way that felt more like reassurance than necessity.
“You know,” Natasha murmured, her voice soft but amused, “you’re not half bad at this hero thing.”
Y/n huffed out a laugh. “Coming from you, I’ll take that as a compliment.”
Maria’s hand gave a gentle squeeze, her dark eyes warm with something Y/n couldn’t quite name. “It’s good to have someone to rely on.”
The unspoken truth settled between the three of you—none of you had to do this alone anymore.
The moment Y/n realized she was in too deep came on an unassuming night. Y/n was curled up on the couch with Maria and Natasha—Natasha sprawled lazily across her lap, Maria’s hand entwined with hers. The movie on the TV was little more than background noise, but none of them seemed to care.
It was peaceful. Warm. And for the first time in years, they felt… safe.
“I was wondering,” Natasha said lazily, tilting her head to look up at Y/n, “are you going to disappear on us again?”
Y/n smiled, brushing a stray curl from her forehead. “No. I think I’m done running.”
Maria’s thumb traced idle circles over Y/n’s knuckles, a rare smile playing at the edges of her lips. “Good.”
Natasha smirked, her eyes glinting with mischief. “Guess you’re stuck with us now.”
And in that quiet, intimate moment, with Maria and Natasha pressed close, Y/n knew without a doubt that she wouldn’t have it any other way.
———————-
Life as a hero wasn’t easy, and neither was love. But with Maria Hill and Natasha Romanoff by Y/n’s side, the impossible didn’t seem so daunting. Together, they fought crime, shared laughter, and found solace in each other’s arms.
And for the first time since the invasion of 2012, Y/n felt like she belonged.
She wasn’t just a hero. She wasn’t just Supergirl. She was theirs—and they were hers.
The adjustment to life with Maria and Natasha was seamless in some ways, and challenging in others. Y/n never had anyone to fall back on before, but now they were there—like a constant rhythm you could lean on. They fought crime together, shared meals, and unwound on late nights with lazy conversations and fleeting touches that lingered longer than necessary.
But letting people in was unfamiliar. Trusting them—trusting them—felt like standing on the edge of a cliff, hoping they’d catch her before she fell.
One evening after patrol, the three of them sat in Y/n’s tiny apartment, rain drumming against the windows. Natasha had commandeered the kitchen, assembling snacks with surprising skill, while Maria was at the table, cleaning her sidearm with meticulous precision.
Y/n hovered near the window, arms folded, eyes unfocused on the darkened street below. Something about the quiet felt heavier tonight—like the weight of the secrets she hadn’t yet shared.
Maria noticed first. She always did.
“You okay?” she asked softly, not looking up from her work.
Natasha glanced over her shoulder from the kitchen, her brow raising in subtle concern.
Y/n sighed, shifting her weight. “I’m just… not used to this.”
“To what?” Natasha asked, wiping her hands on a towel and moving to lean casually against the counter.
“This,” Y/n repeated, gesturing vaguely between the three of them. “Having people. Letting them close. It’s new.”
Maria set her gun down carefully, her gaze steady but not pressing. “We get that.”
Natasha crossed the room and stopped in front of Y/n, tilting her head slightly as if reading between the lines of everything Y/n hadn’t said. “We’re not going anywhere.”
The simplicity of the statement made Y/n’s chest ache. It was a promise, one that felt solid in a way few things ever had. Y/n gave them a small, hesitant smile. “Okay.”
And somehow, that one word carried more weight than any vow.
————————
Things shifted again during a mission a few weeks later—a coordinated takedown of an arms dealer operating out of the docks. The night was cold, the air sharp with the scent of salt and metal. Y/n and Natasha swept through the shadows while Maria directed from a nearby rooftop, her voice calm and clear over the comms.
The mission was routine—until it wasn’t. A group of mercenaries appeared, ambushing you from the side. Y/n moved faster than thought, intercepting a bullet aimed at Natasha’s back, the force of it barely registering against her skin.
Natasha turned just in time to see Y/n drop the gunman with a single, decisive punch. Her green eyes narrowed, sharp with something Y/n couldn’t quite place—something intense, almost dangerous.
“Thanks,” she muttered, but there was a flicker of frustration behind her gratitude.
Later, after the fight was over and the three of them were back at the apartment, Natasha cornered Y/n in the hallway. Her jaw was tight, her eyes stormy. “You didn’t need to take that risk.”
Y/n crossed your arms, meeting her gaze head-on. “I can handle a bullet, Natasha.”
“That’s not the point.”
Maria appeared in the doorway, her expression unreadable. “Nat…” she warned gently, but Natasha shook her head, unwilling to let it go.
“You scared me,” Natasha admitted, her voice quieter now, but no less fierce. “You can’t just throw yourself in harm’s way like that. Not for me.”
Y/n blinked, startled by the raw honesty in her words. “I’d do it again,” she said softly, and the truth of it settled heavily between you.
Maria’s gaze softened, and Natasha sighed, running a hand through her hair. “You’re impossible,” she muttered, but the fight had drained from her.
Y/n gave a small, crooked smile. “I learned from the bests.”
Natasha huffed out a reluctant laugh, and Maria stepped closer, threading her fingers through Y/n’s with quiet reassurance. At that moment, the tension dissolved, leaving only the steady beat of their shared connection.
————————
It happened on a quiet night, with no missions, no emergencies—just the three of them curled up on the couch. Y/n wore one of Maria’s sweatshirts, soft and oversized, and Natasha’s head rested in her lap, her hands idly playing with the hem of Y/n’s shirt.
Maria sat beside Y/n, legs tucked beneath her, reading a book she’d picked up from a local shop. The room was warm, lit only by the soft glow of a lamp, and for once, the world outside felt distant.
It was Natasha who broke the silence, her voice soft and teasing. “So… are we ever going to talk about this?”
Y/n blinked down at her, pretending not to understand. “Talk about what?”
Natasha rolled her eyes, a playful smirk tugging at her lips. “This. Us. The fact that we’ve been dancing around it for weeks.”
Maria set her book down, glancing between Y/n and Natasha with a raised brow. “She’s not wrong.”
Heat crept into Y/n’s cheeks, but she didn’t pull away. “I thought we were doing okay without labels.”
“We are,” Maria said, her voice steady. “But that doesn’t mean we don’t want more.”
Y/n’s heart stuttered at the quiet honesty in her words. Natasha sat up, shifting so she was closer to her, her hand sliding along Y/n’s jaw in a way that sent sparks down her spine.
“We’re all in if you are,” she murmured, her green eyes searching Y/n’s. “No running. No hiding.”
For a moment, all Y/n could do was stare at them—two women who had slipped into her life with unexpected ease, who had seen her at her strongest and her most vulnerable, and stayed.
Then, with a breathless laugh, Y/n leaned in, pressing her lips to Natasha’s first—a kiss that was soft warm, and long overdue. She hummed in approval, her hands tangling in Y/n’s hair.
When Y/n pulled back, Maria was waiting, her gaze steady and unwavering. Y/n kissed her next, slow and deliberately, savoring the way Maria melted into her with a quiet sigh.
When Y/n finally pulled away, the three of them sat there in the warm, comfortable silence, tangled together in a way that felt permanent.
And for the first time in a long time, Y/n didn’t feel like she was flying alone.
The road ahead wouldn’t be easy. There would be more missions, more battles, and more moments of doubt. But Y/n knew now that whatever came next, she wouldn’t have to face it alone.
With Maria and Natasha by her side, the future felt less like a looming storm and more like a promise—a constellation of moments, each one brighter because Y/n had them with her.
And in that, Y/n found something she never expected: peace.
———————
It started with a text from Tony Stark. Y/n wasn’t entirely sure how he got her number (probably Natasha), but the message was clear:
Tony: You. Nat. Hill. Dinner at the Tower. No excuses. Bring a side dish.
Maria raised an eyebrow when Y/n showed her the message, and Natasha only smirked knowingly. “He’s persistent. It’s easier just to show up.”
And that’s how Y/n found herself standing at the entrance of the Avengers Tower with Maria on one side, Natasha on the other, and a homemade pie in her hands. Why a pie? Honestly, Y/n had no idea. Baking seemed safer than experimenting with a casserole that could get critiqued by Stark.
Natasha led the way inside, and it didn’t take long for Tony to appear, arms wide, wearing a smug grin. “Ah, the power couple. And our very own Girl of Steel. Welcome!”
“Technically, we’re a trio,” Maria said coolly, brushing past him without missing a beat.
Tony blinked, clearly caught off guard for half a second before a grin stretched across his face. “Well now. This just got more interesting.”
Natasha shot him a warning glance. “Don’t start.”
The common area was bustling. Steve Rogers stood by the counter, chatting with Sam Wilson and Bruce Banner, while Thor sampled everything on the snack table with enthusiasm. Clint Barton waved at Natasha from the couch, where he was lounging with an entire bowl of popcorn in his lap.
And then there was Y/n, standing slightly awkwardly with her pie as the most powerful people on Earth sized her up like a curious science experiment.
Thor was the first to approach, his booming laugh filling the room. “Ah, Supergirl! The woman of legend! I saw you lift a helicarrier—impressive indeed.” He clapped a heavy hand on Y/n’s shoulder.
Y/n gave him a small, awkward smile. “Thanks. It was… kind of easy.”
Sam chuckled from the counter. “You’re telling me she casually landed helicarriers and brought dessert? I like her already.”
Natasha rolled her eyes affectionately as she slipped an arm around Y/n’s waist. “Play nice, Wilson.”
“Relax, Romanoff,” Sam teased. “We’re just trying to figure out how you managed to land someone so far out of your league.”
Y/n snorted despite herself, and Maria gave Sam an approving nod. “I like him,” she said quietly to Natasha, who only smirked.
Steve stepped forward next, extending a hand to Y/n. “It’s good to finally meet you. We’ve heard a lot about you.”
“From who?” Y/n asked, raising a curious brow.
Steve glanced toward Natasha with a knowing smile. “A little birdie.”
Natasha gave him a deadpan look. “You’re pushing it, Rogers.”
———————-
Dinner was as chaotic as Y/n expected. Tony and Sam took turns trying to outdo each other with snarky quips. Thor declared the mashed potatoes “worthy of Asgard” and challenged Y/n to an arm-wrestling contest that Maria promptly vetoed. Clint told a half-true story about Natasha’s time in Budapest, which she denied with an exaggerated groan.
Y/n found yourself relaxing into the banter, marveling at how easy it was to fall into step with this ragtag family. They had fought gods and monsters and saved the world more times than anyone could count, but here they were—bickering over side dishes and arguing about whose turn it was to do the dishes.
At one point, Tony raised a glass. “To our newest hero! Supergirl, savior of helicarriers, protector of pie.”
Everyone raised their drinks, and Y/n gave an embarrassed laugh. “I didn’t save that much pie,” she joked, nodding toward Thor, who was well into his third slice.
“It’s delicious!” Thor declared around a mouthful, giving Y/n an enthusiastic thumbs-up.
Maria leaned in close, her shoulder brushing Y/n’s. “See? You’re fitting right in.”
After dinner, things took a slightly more mischievous turn. Tony leaned back in his chair, swirling the last of his drink. “So… the three of you, huh?”
Natasha didn’t even blink. “Yes.”
“And we should probably not ask questions, right?” Sam chimed in, grinning.
Maria gave them both a look that could’ve frozen lava. “Smart men.”
Clint, however, was far less cautious. “Wait, so you’re telling me you, Nat, and Hill are—”
“Yes,” Natasha cut him off with a smirk, clearly enjoying the way Clint sputtered.
“Nice,” Clint muttered under his breath, looking mildly impressed.
Steve cleared his throat, his expression somewhere between amused and exasperated. “Let’s focus on what really matters—what’s the plan for the next big mission?”
Y/n shrugged, glancing between Maria and Natasha. “Honestly? I think we’ll keep doing what we’re doing. Small stuff, local work. Not everything has to be an alien invasion or an apocalyptic threat.”
Natasha nodded. “Sometimes the small things make the biggest difference.”
Maria gave a rare smile. “Besides, we’re exactly where we need to be.”
———————
As the night wound down, Y/n found herself on the Tower’s balcony with Natasha and Maria, gazing out at the glittering city below. The cool night breeze ruffled Y/n’s hair, and Natasha leaned against the railing, her hand brushing hers.
“Not bad, huh?” she murmured, a soft smile playing on her lips.
Y/n laughed lightly. “They’re not as scary as I thought they’d be.”
Maria chuckled. “Give them time.”
Natasha squeezed Y/n’s hand gently. “You held your own. They like you.”
Y/n glanced between them, feeling the quiet warmth settle in her chest. “And you two? Do you like me?”
Maria smirked, leaning in to press a kiss to the corner of Y/n’s mouth. “We’ll let you know.”
Natasha laughed softly, wrapping an arm around Y/n’s waist. “You’re stuck with us now, Supergirl.”
And for the first time, surrounded by friends and the two women who had become Y/n’s whole world, she knew there was nowhere else she’d rather be.
Bonus Chapter:
The Avengers had a reputation for intense training sessions, and somehow Y/n’d been roped into one. It started with Clint taunting Natasha, which led to Maria getting involved, and now here they were—standing in the Avengers’ training facility with Thor, Steve, and Sam watching like kids in a candy store.
Natasha cracked her knuckles with a mischievous glint in her eye, and Maria stood beside her, arms folded, looking way too smug for Y/n’s liking.
“We’ve seen you take on alien armies,” Maria said with an edge of challenge. “But let’s see how you do with a little hand-to-hand combat.”
Y/n raised a brow, giving her a playful smirk. “You really think you two can take me down?”
“Oh, we don’t think,” Natasha said, rolling her shoulders. “We know.”
Natasha took point first, bouncing lightly on the balls of her feet. Even though you had Kryptonian abilities, Y/n knew better than to underestimate the Widow. She was lethal, and Y/n wasn’t about to get too cocky.
She moved fast—faster than most humans—but Y/n saw it coming. A jab to her ribs, a leg sweep, and a feint toward her face. Y/n dodged with minimal effort, twisting her body just enough to avoid each blow without having to go on the offensive.
“Not bad,” Natasha murmured as she circled her.
“Same to you,” Y/n replied with a grin. “You always this slow?”
Natasha’s eyes narrowed, and the playful tension ratcheted up a notch. This time, she darted in close, attempting to trap Y/n’s wrist in an armlock. But Y/n was faster. Y/n caught her mid-movement, spun her gently but decisively, and pinned her against the padded wall.
Natasha’s breath came out in a soft huff, her lips inches from Y/n’s. “Show-off,” she muttered, though the ghost of a smile tugged at her mouth.
“Next?” Y/n asked, glancing toward Maria.
Maria stepped onto the mat, cool and collected as always. She gave Natasha a quick once-over as if mentally critiquing her performance, before turning her attention to Y/n.
“Don’t get cocky,” she said smoothly. “I know your moves now.”
Y/n smirked. “I know yours too.”
The two of them circled each other, tension thick in the air. Maria was more calculated than Natasha, each movement deliberate and precise. She didn’t waste energy on feints or flashy attacks—every punch and kick was perfectly timed.
But Y/n was Kryptonian. And though she tried to hold back, her reflexes were still leagues beyond human.
Maria lunged, aiming to catch Y/n’s off-balance, but Y/n shifted, spinning out of her reach and gently tapping her shoulder as she passed. “Missed me.”
Maria’s eyes narrowed dangerously, but before she could make another move, Thor’s booming laugh echoed from the sidelines.
“She fights like a Valkyrie!” Thor declared. “But with far more charm.”
Maria shot him a look that could’ve leveled a city block. “Stay out of this, Asgard.”
What happened next was entirely Clint’s fault. He leaned over to Steve, not bothering to lower his voice. “Ten bucks says Maria sweeps her legs in the next thirty seconds.”
“Deal,” Steve replied, shaking his hand with a grin.
Maria, overhearing this, muttered under her breath, “Idiots,” and lunged at Y/n again.
Y/n ducked—just barely—but in the process, Natasha decided to jump back in, catching her from the side. The three of them tumbled to the mat in a graceless heap. Natasha pinned Y/n’s legs, and Maria wrestled her arms into an awkward hold, but not before Y/n managed to twist and knock Natasha flat on her back.
“Really?” Natasha groaned from beneath Y/n, shooting Maria an exasperated glance.
“I thought you had her,” Maria replied dryly, still trying to maintain her grip on Y/n’s wrist.
From the sidelines, Tony’s voice echoed across the room. “This is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen. Someone better be recording this.”
Sam leaned over and whispered to Clint, “I’m not even sure who’s winning anymore.”
Thor beamed. “Everyone is winning! This is glorious!”
After a few more moments of struggling, Y/n finally collapsed onto the mat in a fit of laughter, dragging both Maria and Natasha with her. They groaned dramatically, limbs tangled with her, but there was no real frustration—just the warmth of shared amusement.
“I think I win,” Y/n said breathlessly, grinning up at the ceiling.
Natasha propped herself up on one elbow, shaking her head with a playful smile. “You’re insufferable.”
Maria smirked, brushing a loose strand of hair from Y/n’s face. “We’ll call it a draw.”
Y/n chuckled, her heart light with affection for both of them. “Fine. But only because I like you two.”
Natasha leaned in closer, her breath warm against Y/n’s ear. “Careful, Supergirl. We might make this a regular thing.”
———————
Eventually, the three of them untangled themselves and got to their feet, still laughing. Maria dusted off her pants, and Natasha stretched, rolling her neck.
As they made their way off the mat, Clint clapped his hands together. “Well, that was amazing. I’d pay good money to watch that again.”
Steve chuckled. “Careful what you wish for, Barton.”
Tony sauntered over, a mischievous grin plastered on his face. “So, when do we get a rematch? I think I could take you.”
Y/n arched a brow, crossing her arms. “You? Against me?”
“Hey, I’ve got armor. It evens the odds.”
Natasha smirked. “No, it doesn’t.”
Maria shot Tony a dry look. “Please don’t embarrass yourself, Stark.”
Tony feigned offense, but the twinkle in his eye gave him away. “Fine. But next time, I want popcorn. And someone better get it on camera.”
Later that night, the three of them sat on the Tower’s balcony, sharing a bottle of wine that Natasha had pilfered from Tony’s stash. The city sparkled beneath them, and the cool night air wrapped around them like a comforting blanket.
Maria leaned against Y/n, her head resting on her shoulder, while Natasha sprawled lazily beside Y/n, her hand tracing idle patterns on her thigh.
“You’re getting good at this,” Natasha murmured, her voice soft and content.
“At what?” Y/n asked, smiling.
“This.” Maria gestured lazily to the world around them. “Letting us in.”
Y/n chuckled, pressing a kiss to her temple. “It’s not so bad.”
Natasha hummed in agreement, her eyes half-closed. “Told you. You’re stuck with us now.”
And as the three of them sat together, watching the stars flicker above the skyline, Y/n knew she was right. She’d found her place—her people—and there was nowhere else she’d rather be.

Enemies to lovers with spider hazel
author's note/s: 3.6k words. spider!hazel and fellow superhero/vigilante!reader, more of a one-sided annoyances to lovers, really. think kind of supergirl-esque for reader's powers (at least in the flying and strength aspect) and to help visualize reader's mask, click here for reference.
“So that’s, what, five bad guys down for me this week now and three for you? Maybe I’ll sit back and relax tomorrow so you can catch up.”
You can’t see the face behind that mask but you’re sure there’s a shit-eating grin on it. You roll your eyes at the quip. “Oh, fuck off. It’s not a competition.”
Not that that ever changed how annoyed you got whenever the tally was higher in her favor, though. But the webslinger’s count wasn’t what really got you riled up; wasn’t even how smug she could get about it. It was the way she executed the crime fighting skills that you assumed she was learning and making up as she went. Spiderwoman was messy and, ironically, uncoordinated half the time, but the worst part was that she drew too much attention.
You knew attracting the attention of the police and the papers was inevitable, but at least you had the good sense to not make a whole show of being a vigilante. Spiderwoman, on the other hand, just loved to stay and chat.
“Hey, come on, don’t be like that. You know I’m just messing around.” There’s a drop in her tone, clearly making an attempt to ease the tension. “You’re a lot faster than I am with rounding up criminals, so you get extra points for that.”
At that, you allow yourself to smile the tiniest bit. She can’t see it behind your own mask but if she was as observant as she claimed to be, she might see however little of it reached your eyes.
She clears her throat, bringing a hand to scratch at the back of her neck as she says, “So uh, I know it’s getting late and all, but I’ve got my backpack stashed somewhere not far from here and my lunch sandwich is still intact. It’s a pretty big one so you know, if you wanted a post-crime fighting snack…”
It’s a harmless, friendly gesture so you hold back a scoff and snide comment. You get it — the business you were in was best done alone but it could get lonely after doing it for some time. Besides, masked heroes like the two of you wore masks for a reason: nobody could know who they were, and even fellow vigilantes weren’t an exception to the rule. But you supposed it would be nice to have a friend with the shared experiences.
Just… maybe not her. Or just maybe not yet. This wasn’t like making friends in school, after all.
“Not hungry,” you tell her shortly before lifting yourself off the ground, signaling that your conversation was over and you were leaving.
You hear her say something as you take off, but you can’t be bothered to look back.
Tumblr media
Despite it being the last day of the week, you found Fridays particularly hard to get through. Mostly because you were itching for the weekend to come but because the bad guys in the city always seemed to act up during that day. The feeling in your stomach about what your evening patrol might turn out like was a mixture of both fear and excitement, but you tried your best to push it down for the time being. It was only the second period.
“You and Miss Callahan, partners,” your teacher says with a tap to your table as she strides by, listing off other pairs. You look over to Hazel who apparently is already looking at you, her eyes wide with… shock? A hint of nervousness in them too.
Weird. You were sort-of friends through the cheerleaders she was surprisingly close with, Isabel and Brittany, but you’ve never really spoken much to each other. Maybe she was worried you guys wouldn’t click without the other girls around.
You cast her a smile as she gets nearer, sliding the worksheet to the midpoint of the table. “The total number of questions is an even number, 12, so we can each get a half. But we can help each other too, of course.”
Hazel mutters something that sounds like an ‘okay,’ but she mumbles something else under her breath that you can’t quite make out.
Overall, the class goes fine. The osmosis experiment wasn’t too hard to do and the questions were manageable. It was just how Hazel acted throughout the whole hour that threw you off a little. You knew she could be as awkward as she could get excited, and sometimes she talked too much and didn’t pick up on social cues easily, but the whole time she just seemed… uncomfortable, if that was the right word. Like she really wanted to say something or do something but she couldn’t for whatever reason.
Once you’re both done cleaning up, she wastes no time in removing her laboratory coat and shoving it into her bag, but you don’t want to let her get away that easily. Gently, you place a hand on her forearm to stop her. “Hey, Hazel?”
She pauses, eyeing your hand for a second too long before looking at you. Properly looking at you. She could barely do it throughout the experiment.
“I just wanted to ask if everything’s okay?” You bring your hand back and begin to slip off your own coat. “It could be none of my business, so feel free to tell me off if you want, but you just seem a bit out of it.”
Hazel opens her mouth to speak, but her gaze quickly moves from your face to something beside you. Rather, on you; your shirt was pulled to the side while taking off the coat and it exposed the bruise at the juncture of your shoulder and collarbone. Shit.
“Oh, that’s— don’t worry about that. I just tripped and fell hard in P.E. the other day,” you say with a dismissive wave of your hand, pulling your shirt back in place. God, you hoped nothing in your voice or face was giving you away. You doubt her first assumption would be that you were one of the masked vigilantes featured on the news, but she couldn’t be thinking of anything good either if she didn’t buy your excuse.
And she didn’t. “That doesn’t look too good,” Hazel says with a frown.
“It’s fine—”
“Come with me to the locker room? I’ve got something that can probably help with that. I mean, it’s not in the locker room, it’s in my actual locker and I’ll have to go get it from there first before going to the benches, but uh… um, yeah. I-I’ve got something.”
Her ramble ends with a sigh and you can’t help but smile at how she stumbled out all those words. Funny how you were the one all concerned about her just a minute ago and now the tables were turned. You didn’t want anybody seeing your cuts and bruises, or at least didn’t want anybody asking about them, but you didn’t get to ice the one she saw just yet. You’d take whatever ointment or cream she might have stashed away in her locker if it would help.
So you nod your head and walk with her towards the door. “Alright, yeah. I’m sure you know a thing or two about treating bruises, what with all that fighting you do.”
You almost bump into her when she stops and whips her head at you sharply, that wide-eyed look back on her face. What was with her today?
“Your fight club? With Isabel and Brittany and all those other girls?”
Hazel visibly deflates and lets out a half nervous, half relieved-sounding noise at that. “Yeah, yeah! Always gotta be prepared.”
You say nothing in return and follow along to her locker, deciding not to overthink it. Hazel could just be a little odd and there was nothing wrong with that.
Tumblr media
“Ah—”
“Sorry, sorry,” she says, being even more careful than earlier with moving your shirt and bra strap to the side to expose the bruise more.
“It’s okay, just… I think it would be easier if I took my top off for this?”
Hazel actually makes a sound when she gulps. You’re quick to add, “Only if you’re comfortable with that, no pressure at all. It’s just that the bruise kinda trails off to the back too, so…”
“Yeah, no, it’s fine. Whatever you’re more comfortable with. I’ll just…” she trails off, turning away so you can take your shirt off.
“Haze, you don’t have to do that,” you say with a chuckle. But it was instinct as it was for everyone when somebody was changing in their presence, and you knew there was an extra kick to it now for her.
Brittany and Isabel were always just poking fun, but you knew they teased Hazel about you sometimes. Both girls even asked you about your possible interest in her more than once. Hazel was cute and you did want to get to know her more, especially see how she was in that fight club because they always said she was different in that element. But considering your own after-school activities, dating was just out of the question.
Silently, Hazel turns back, cap off the tub of gel in her waiting hands. It was obvious that she was trying very hard to look nowhere else but your face and the area of the bruise, so you reach out and smile at her reassuringly. “Nothing to worry about. I know you’ve seen boobs before.”
“Well, not your boobs.”
She says it so casually that you’re both taken aback, but you just laugh. Thankfully, Hazel laughs along with you too.
You lean against the sink and she comes closer, stopping once her knees knock against yours. “Tell me if I’m pressing hard, okay?”
You smile at her again, softer this time. “Okay.”
It’s comfortably silent as she applies the gel on your bruise. High in vitamin C, she tells you at some point, cause it apparently helps bruises heal faster. Hopefully you didn’t get hit there again tonight so you could actually see if the science behind the gel worked or not.
When you turn around so she can work on the bruise’s extension on your back, you say, “That gel looks like it’s barely used. Do you have a stock of those at your fight club or do you guys just tough it out when someone gets a hit in?”
“This is my personal one, but most of us prefer to use the traditional ice packs. And unlike the rest of them, I heal pretty quickly.” Hazel smiles at your reflection in the mirror and you immediately smile back. You didn’t think it was possible for her to ever have a hint of cockiness in her tone. You kind of liked it.
“Like a regular superhero then, huh?”
She looks away, her smile dropping slightly. “Nothing like that. Um, you’re all good now.”
Hazel reaches for your shirt before you can even ask her to. You thank her with another smile and she moves away so you can put it back on.
As you walk alongside her to the exit, you stop her for a moment before pushing the doors open. “Thank you again. I’m pretty sure the gel is working already.”
Her gaze falls to the ground and once again she’s all fidgety and bashful. You hesitate for a second, but before you can talk yourself out of it, you lean forward to kiss her on the cheek. Just a light, friendly peck, even though ‘friendly’ might’ve been teetering over the edge at that point. Something shifted and you weren’t so sure you’d just laugh it off the next time Brittany or Isabel asked you about Hazel again.
You walk out of the locker room together, shyly glancing and smiling at one another until you have to part ways for your next classes.
Tumblr media
Christ on a cross, you were really fucking tired. The city had been quiet since you started surveying it at around five o’clock and you were highly considering calling it a day at around half past seven, leave whatever happened in the later hours to the other crime fighters your city had one too many of. Hell, even to whatever cops who might be able to do their job properly for a change.
But a trio of snatchers caught your eye as soon as the thought occurred to you. So much for an earlier end to the week.
And you had them subdued with ease. Two of them were clearly new to the life of crime or just greatly inexperienced, and the other one was yelling at them half the time. Despite your skill and inhuman qualities, however, they were all relatively bigger than you so knocking them all out still took some time. You were two down with one to go when you heard a thwipping sound by your ear, and in the next split second, the snatcher was webbed to the wall.
Then you heard that voice. “Looked like you needed a hand.”
You look over your shoulder, groaning. “I didn’t, actually.”
“Well, I wanted to help you anyway. You’re welcome!”
“I’m not thanking you!”
The blare of police sirens comes not long after and you and Spiderwoman flee the scene before any of the cars come to a stop. Flying got you ahead of her since she relied on buildings to swing off from, but she caught up to you in no time. In just a few minutes, you were both back on the rooftop you left her at earlier in the week.
“You know, you’re right for making sure to never have to talk to the cops after putting the bad guys down. I should do that more. Those people really don’t like us.”
“I think you just talk a little too much for their liking.”
It’s not meant to be funny, but she laughs at you anyway. You might’ve put your guard down and decided to not be so irritated if it weren’t for the throbbing pain near your shoulder. You were sure the bruise there got bigger and worse after one of the snatchers got a good punch in that area.
“Yeah, well, I’m calling it a night. The city’s been quiet enough except for that one incident today, so I’m going home.” You sigh, moving to walk past her. “You should, too.”
“Hold on, I…”
You stop, waiting like she asked. If she was gonna ask you to hang out and share a sandwich again, she still wasn’t getting the answer she wanted.
She’s in a silent debate with herself for too long and you really, really wanted to go, so you say goodbye and start walking again. But just as you come shoulder to shoulder with her, she reaches out to touch yours and you wince back in pain. It just had to be the bruised one.
“Oh god, sorry.” She says as she takes her hand away. “Are you okay?”
“Obviously not, but I’ll be fine the next time we unfortunately cross paths again.”
“Wait, I just—”
“Look, Spidey, I really don’t have time—”
“Just take the tub of gel home then, if you don’t want me to take a look at it.”
What the hell was she talking about?
Then it hits you, and you freeze in place even before she says your name. Your actual name, written on your birth certificate and school records, written on that worksheet you shared just a couple of hours before.
Slowly, she begins to take off her mask. You almost want to tell her to stop but that wouldn’t change anything. Even if she didn’t show you her face now, you’d see it in two days time on Monday. Maybe even earlier if you happened to bump into her on the weekend.
Your greatest annoyance was the same person you thought you might’ve been developing a bit of a crush on earlier. You could not deal with any of that right now.
So you don’t.
“I know you’re probably freaked out by now, but I promise I haven’t—”
“I need to go.”
A crease forms between her brows. She starts to say something again but you’re quick to cut her off. “I need to go, okay? Just leave me alone.”
Hazel lets out a resigned sigh, looking to the floor as she nods. You fly faster than you ever have to get back home.
Tumblr media
Your luck doesn’t get any better over the weekend when you get a fever on Sunday evening, making you miss class for the next three days. A paracetamol usually did the trick after a day, but the fatigue and exhaustion of your secret life was probably getting to you, too. But even with the ugly feeling of a fever, it was actually really nice to just stay in bed and drink soup for a change. It feels like you haven’t properly rested in weeks.
Your mind, however, was still restless. You tried not to look at the news too much in case there was some criminal that got away and it would just make you feel awful for not being able to catch them. But you tried even harder not to message Hazel to talk.
“Hey kiddo, your friend from school is here. Says she has the notes and homework you’ve missed since Monday.” Your dad pops his head in as he speaks. You can’t see who’s behind him, but it was probably Isabel. She’s been checking in on you constantly.
“Yeah, just let Isabel in, dad.”
“Not Isabel,” says a different voice as the door shuts behind her. Speak of the devil. “But I do have Isabel’s notes because they’re way neater than mine,” Hazel adds, a sheepish look on her face.
You don’t say anything as you watch her cross the room, shrugging off her backpack and gently placing it on the seat by your study table. Then she turns to you, and you’re surprised to see the tears welling up in her eyes. “Hazel, what—”
“Sorry, I’m sorry, it’s just…” She shakes her head, angrily rubbing at her eyes. “I thought something really bad happened to you.”
“It was just a fever,” you tell her as you sit up straighter against your headboard.
“You know what I mean.”
You did. You reach out and pat the space beside you on the bed. “Come on, come here.”
Hazel does as she’s asked. Her gaze was focused on your carpet but you could see that her eyes weren’t glistening with unshed tears anymore, although they were rimmed red. “I’m fine, I promise. The fever’s gone now and I’ve been cleared to go back to school tomorrow.”
She nods but she’s still not looking at you, so you take one of her hands in between both of yours in an attempt to make her. “I’m sorry for the way I reacted on Friday night. I just didn’t know what to say and it was… it was a lot to take in at the moment. I was so sure that nobody knew who I was. I panicked.”
“I haven’t told anyone, I swear.” Hazel looks at you then, holding your gaze like her life depended on it. “I know I talk too much but I would never do that to you. Never.”
You can’t tell if she’s quoting you from your last conversation or not on that last part, but you believe her. “I know. I’d never tell anyone about you either, Hazel.”
She looks down at your hands when you rub your thumb across the side of hers and, after a moment, she laces her fingers with yours. There was a burst of warmth in your chest and you could tell there was one in Hazel’s too. So much for your one rule of not dating anyone because of the dangerous part of your life.
Not that you thought the two of you were dating, though.
“So… now what?”
“Well, life goes on as it did before, I guess.” You scoot closer to her, smiling as you add, “But I guess we can hold hands every now and then, if you like.”
“Oh, I like. I very much like,” Hazel replies enthusiastically, a matching smile on her face. She holds on to your hand tighter. “Can I kiss you every now and then too?”
“You haven’t kissed me yet.”
But that’s changed in a heartbeat, both of you leaning forward at the same time. You tug her closer, unlacing your hands so you can bury one in her hair as the other holds on to the side of her face. Hazel kisses you slowly, but there was an urgency to it as well; like something could happen the next day that would ensure she would never be able to do it again — but all things considered, that was an unfortunate thing that very well could happen. You kiss her back just the same, savoring the moment and praying to every god out there that your mom or dad wouldn’t come barging in any time soon.
She pushes you down onto the bed and pulls away with a grin, planting kisses across your cheek and down to your neck. You hold back from verbally reacting to that and the feeling of her hands on your hips, her thumbs gently caressing the skin there. It takes too much energy for you to manage to say, “Hazel, Haze… my parents are home.”
Hazel brings her face back up to yours. Instead of looking disappointed, she just looks pleased. “I know, sorry. Got carried away — I have been fantasizing about this for a while now, though, so cut me a little slack.”
You giggle out an ‘okay’, tucking her hair behind her ears. “Also, if there’s any of that fever bacteria still in me, I apologize in advance if you get sick in a day or two.”
“Don’t even worry about me,” Hazel says with a shake of her head, leaning down to kiss you soundly once more. “I heal fast.”

Earth
It’s a few days after the initial flurry of Kara coming out to the world as Supergirl. Kara won’t lie; she’s exhausted. It’s a combination of days of back-to-back interviews, of juggling her new responsibilities as Editor-in-Chief along with her appearances as Supergirl, both in a crime fighting capacity as well as those appearances that were more for show. Several weeks of nervous anticipation paired with new demands on her time have taken their toll.
But finally, finally, she gets to relax with Lena on her couch one Friday evening.
They’ve had dinner already, sharing a few dishes from the new Thai restaurant that Kara has been dying to try for a while, and now Lena is sipping on her wine while Kara works her way through a container of ice cream. After this week, she deserves an extra treat, or three.
Lena has been quiet all evening, uncharacteristically so. Usually, when it’s just the two of them, Lena doesn’t hold back. Kara is about to ask her what’s wrong when Lena puts her wine glass down and fixes her with a searching look.
“You know,’ she says, her words hesitant and a little shaky, “I’m surprised you’re still here.”
Kara frowns. “What do you mean? This is my apartment.”
“No, I mean, here. On Earth.”
At that, Kara shifts so she can face Lena more fully. She doesn’t ask any more questions, wants Lena to get out what she needs to say without interruption.
“With Nyxly defeated, and Lex gone, hopefully for good this time, I thought you might want to, um, go home. To Argo. Be with your parents.”
Kara can hear the fear in Lena’s voice, can see the way her hands tremble a little. She has a pretty good idea how much courage it has taken Lena to broach the subject, and her heart aches a little when she thinks about how long Lena must have sat with these thoughts, mulling them over, stewing, like she does when she is worried about something.
“Lena,” she says, trying to infuse the next few words with as much clarity and conviction as possible, “I am home. Sure, eventually I’ll want to go visit Argo again for a couple of weeks, but Earth is home for me now. This is,” she adds, waving her hands between them, “you are.”
There’s a small gasp and then Lena looks up at her, eyes wide.
“Me?”
Kara nods and takes both of Lena’s fidgeting hands in her own.
“I feel like we still have unfinished business, you and I. With Nyxly and Lex and all the chaos they brought, we’ve barely had time to breathe. To talk. To think about what we want, moving forward.”
Kara watches as Lena tilts her head to the side just a bit. “What we want?”
“Mm. I know what I want. I know that I can’t envision a life without you. But I think we need to talk about what you want, too. I’ve been the one making decisions for the both of us for too long. I want to do it right, this time.”
Lena doesn’t answer, not right away. For a moment, all she does is stare at Kara, mouth slightly open, like she can’t quite believe what Kara just revealed. Kara isn’t sure if she should continue, if she needs to spell out for Lena that her dreams of the future include a shared home, a wedding in Midvale, lazy Sunday mornings in bed, and Lena at the center of it all. But before Kara can decide, Lena surges forward and crashes their lips together. It’s forceful enough that Kara tips backwards, surprised by Lena’s speed. It means that their first kiss isn’t quite what Kara had imagined it might be, a soft, delicate thing by the door before Lena heads out for the evening. Instead, Kara’s back is pressed into her couch and Lena is on top of her, pushing herself as close as she can get.
When Lena eventually pulls back a little, her lipstick smeared and her hair askew, there’s a bright smile on her face, the kind that makes her nose scrunch up a little.
“I know what I want, too.”

Continuing on from that Robin Only AU because it will not get out of my head.
So, Starro attacks and attempts to conquer earth, enthralling many of it’s most powerful heroes but overlooking the young heroes who work alongside those heroes. This group, later known as The Titans defeat the conqueror, free their mentors and the world, and banish the would be ruler to the Phantom Zone thanks to Supergirl.
During this crisis, when all seemed lost Supergirl told the tale of the Kryptonian heroes Flamebird and Nightwing to inspire the group and this story stuck with Dick in particular. After this battle Dick sheds the title of Robin, moving on from his quest for vengeance, and dons the name Nightwing.
After a fight with disgraced former hypnotherapist Harleen Quinzel, better known as the villainous Yo-Yo, Nightwing finds his ‘Nightcycle’ missing it’s wheels and after some digging finds them in the possession of an orphan not much younger than himself, Jason Todd.
Seeing a glimmer of himself and what he could have become, Dick let’s Jason go with the wheels but quickly finds that Jason is just one of many Orphan’s manipulated by Black Mask and his Falseface Gang.
With Oracle’s help he tracks down the heart of Black Mask’s criminal empire and foolishly rushes in, angered by the manipulation of these kids. After a drawn out fight, Dick finds himself on the back foot and one wrong move away from losing it all, until the thunk of a crowbar against the crime lord’s mask gives him the opening he needs to strike and leave the villain unconscious.
Jason Todd looks down at the criminal and then back at the crowbar in his hands and then to the hero he’d stolen from. An anonymous tip comes through to the Wayne Foundation about a group of orphaned youths in need of help.
Within the hour many of the teens are being taken to the Leslie Thompkins home for forsaken children, except for Jason who finds himself at Nightwing’s hidden hideout, The Aviary, ready to don the mantle of Robin. While elsewhere The Court of Owls fumes over the loss of their puppet’s criminal ring and plots against Nightwing.

reverse dc au but its not robins
You read that right! Let me introduce you to the most random, nonsensical swap AU,Despite the title, the Robins are in it, but they aren't the main focus.
.....Well, I guess Damian is a pretty big part of it, BUT here he was never a Robin, so I stand by my point.
Shadow Damian and Hopeflare Jon, partners in "crime" since they were Veil and Superboy, are on a mission to take down the last CADMUS base that’s left. Surprisingly, it actually is the only existing one (sorry, Match fans—he's not going to show up for a loooooong while).
They arrive to find a bloody mess and a broken environment. There’s no heartbeat, no sound of breathing, nothing any living person would make...except the sound of dripping blood.
Checking all the rooms, Damian finds the one where all the bodies seemed to have been escaping from, and inside, he finds... a mini version of his best friend???except he has curly hair styled in an undercut, his skin is tan and he's wearing a bloody hospital gown.
Thus comes Subject 13, aka Project Cm.Kh/S>sb(a metaphor for a CADMUS-made Kryptonian hybrid of Superman’s son beta), a clone of well ,Superman’s son made with the DNA of Hopeflare, Lex Luthor (who has a bit of techno-meta DNA from his mother), and an unknown human donor (Lois Lane), whose aging process has been stopped by an explosion. He’s stuck in the body of an 11-year-old, a skinny and fragile little boy with knowledge many historians could never dream of. And as a bonus, he comes with a stack of new, unknown powers—so fun!
Short story long, he gets out very quickly with no trouble,as if he wasnt fighting two jl leveled heros and uses the weird pink telekinesis like power (ttk) to make the building collapse. Oh, and also, he hates Jon and somehow knows Shadow's secret identity by just looking at him-not even his face ,that's masked, so it would still be weird, but not as much—but at his chest, more specifically the dark little “s” crossed by an “h” (which is Shadow's symbol).
The mini Jon, as they decided to call him, vanishes from existence for almost six months, making Damian almost convince his partner to stop looking because he’s ruining himself.
In this time, Kon—still choosing a last name—is having the nicest time of his life in the house of Tim Drake-Wayne (age 11) and two of his friends: Stephanie Brown (age 17) and Bernard Dowd (age 10).
Stephanie was kicked out for her addiction by her hero father. Still struggling with it, she was in a situationship with a villain whose name is unknown, but she has moved on from that, Currently, she is two months pregnant, and after a long talk with Tim (who's shockingly smart for a kid), she decided to keep the baby because, screw it, she /Tim/ has the money and enough time to give them a good life. She moved in with Tim because his parents wouldn’t notice anyway, considering they let an 11-year-old have an apartment and live alone. (Jack and Janet are neglectful, but they do love Tim and aren’t fanon.)
Bernard, who was found by Stephanie beaten to a bloody pulp and about to be sacrificed to some vultures, was practically forced to come live with them after Stephanie had one conversation with his parents and her 'soon-to-be-mom''fuck you bitch'' instincts kicked in.
They decided on the name Kon purely because Tim found footage of OG Superman calling that his cousin, Supergirl. That, and since it was the only Kryptonian word that sounded somewhat decent that was found in media, they went with it.
Tim is the protégé of Batman, the second Veil, and rarely goes out on missions since the big bat thinks he’s too young (as if Damian wasn’t 7 when he became Veil),But he still does, sometimes Catwoman and her own kitten, stray, join him
Stephanie is Lilac Arrow (currently looking for a new name, feeling like it’s too close to her father's, and she doesn’t admit it to him—not anymore) and is an ex-Speedy, an active vigilante since she plans to take a longer break of six months until the baby is at least two.
So Kon is finding himself with his friends, learning how to be a person with rights and a life to live.
The whole fic is just consumed by these three being besties as they get older, maybe with a sprinkle of TimBert childhood sweethearts, nonbinary Kon, Stephanie getting to raise her son, and Jon going batshitt about finding his little something that’s for sure related to him while Damian is just done.
Flaline is also there as Damian's emotional support, promising to kick Jon’s ass to take care of himself when he can’t. i prob make more of this au with other characters or of this exact scenario but idk, tell me what you think

Part two of the fic ‘My Lovers’s Got Humor’
Kara flies into the Tower through the balcony entrance after helping at the scene of a massive pileup. A box truck overturned in the middle a two-way road leading into National City. It was just after five o’clock in the evening, meaning many cars were headed to the outskirts of the city to return to suburban homes.
Due to the position of the truck, vehicles traveling on both sides of the road were unable to brake safely, meaning they impacted the truck and the vehicle in front of them one after another. By the time Kara made it to the scene, five cars entering the city and 9 leaving the city had been involved in the accident. The wreckage was a disaster, people hurt in nearly every vehicle, with the most mangled cars being the ones in direct contact with the truck.
It took several hours to safely extract each person, turn off engines and checking fuel lines on each vehicle, lest a fire break out. Luckily, everyone involved made it to the hospital safely. Supergirl stayed after to help clear debris off the road so that backed up traffic could continue on about their evening.
By the time she was done, soot and ash covered almost the entirety of her suit while streaks of black marred the tanned skin of her face. Kara intended to go straight to the showers of the Tower before heading home. That is, until she heard the melodic beat of Lenas heart. Kara follows the sound to the lab where the scientist was tinkering with a proton gun she had confiscated from a rogue alien last week.
“Hey, Lena,” she greets, stepping into the room.
Lena looks up, she’s brightening at the sight of her best friend. She lays her tools down, removing the safety goggles on her face before crossing the floor to meet the blonde.
“Hi, darling. My, my, my, busy day I see.”
“Hey, I just got done with the accident on I-12. What have you been doing?”
“Trying to reverse the polarization on this gun. I want to see how effective its blast radius is.”
Kara loves to hear Lena talk about science. Though she played dumb for much of her time on this planet, Kara was actually very knowledgeable on Earths STEM fields. The information was primative in comparison to Krypton.
“I love hearing you talk about science.”
“Oh, really? I wouldn’t want to bore you.”
“You could never. I find intelligence an attractive quality in a woman.”
A dark brow raises, “Interesting. What else do you find…attractive, in a woman.”
Kara chuckles awkwardly and begins to list qualities she finds attractive in Lena, specifically. “Uh. Beauty, humility, a sense of humor, kindness. Y’know, the usual.”
“I see. You know what I find attractive?” Lena asks conspiratorially.
Kara ears perk. She’ll take just about any crumbs Lena will drop.
“Someone who’s smart, strong, brave, loyal, sweet…”
Okay. Okay. I can fit those, right? I’m super strong, I fight crime for a living, I’m vastly more intelligent than I seem, and I’ve been compared to a golden retriever on more than one occasion. Maybe I do stand a chance!
“And has lots and lots…of muscles.” Lena finishes, hand trailing along the dirty sleeve of Kara’s suit and squeezing. Her voice is a low whisper that caresses Kara’s ears.
Golly.
Kara tenses, unintentionally flexing the muscles of her bicep. “Uhhhh. Um. Yeah. Cool cool. Well, I should shower! I’d hate to get you dirty, I mean— nevermind, see you!”
As she speeds toward the bathrooms, she hears Lena chuckling at her departure.
**********************
“No no no no n—dammit, Kara!” Alex exclaims.
Kara has just won their final round of Jenga, making her the champion of this game night.
“Suck it, Alex!”
“Language!” Kelly interjects.
“Sorry,” they both mutter sheepishly.
Esme isn’t usually present for game night, but her sitter cancelled and the group decided to pull out some of the more kid-friendly games to play with the young alien.
“How about we watch a movie? Since it seems you two can’t play nice,” Lena suggests from the kitchen.
“Good idea. Esme! Why don’t you pick a movie for us to watch?” Kara offers.
“Okay!” Esme skips to the console, opening it up to reveal the plethora of movies Kara has collected. There are a number of plays, musicals and other mediums available, but Esme only has eyes for the children’s films.
“Can we watch The Princess and the Frog?” Esme asks, pulling out the box to show the title.
“That’s one of my favorites! Have you seen it before?” Nia asks, grabbing the box to load the DVD into the player.
The little girl shakes her head, “No, but we read the book for story-time this week in school. I liked it.”
“You’ll love the movie, then. Kara made me watch it when we became friends and I loved it,” Lena says, walking back to the living room. She surveys the room with a sharp eye, determining where she will sit.
Evidently, Kara looks like the comfiest option. The brunette walks over, placing her drink on the end table before sitting sideways in Kara’s lap, her back to the arm rest.
Dear Rao, what do I do? Should I hold her? Maybe, she’s in my lap. Where do I put my hands? Her lap? Maybe not, what if—
“Aunt Kara, why is your heart beating so fast?”
Kara immediately flushes, rushing to quiet Esme before she embarrasses her any further. She would not say this is her proudest moment, but a six year old calling her out on her feelings was not in the agenda for today.
“Esme! What did we say about using other peoples powers without permission?”
The littlest brunette ducks her head at the admonishment, “Sorry.”
“Come here, love,” Lena beckons, spreading her arms to invite Esme for a hug.
She walks over head bowed low before burrowing unruly curls into Lena’s chest.
Kara feels bad immediately. “Oh, little one. I’m sorry.”
She places a hand on Esme’s back, running it up and down in a soothing motion.
“It’s okay,” comes the muffled reply.
“It’s not, I’m sorry. Come, give Aunt Kara a hug.”
Esme plants one knee into the couch, climbing on with Lena’s help to rest in her lap, head on Kara’s shoulder.
Kara kisses the girls forehead, squeezing her just tight enough for her little Dryllian body.
“You okay, love?” Lena asks her.
“Yeah, all better.” She presses a kiss to Kara’s cheek, then Lena’s, before speeding back to her parents to watch the opening scene of the movie.
In the time it takes for the movie to truly begin, someone has turned down the lights. The open curtains wash the room in soft moonlight. Snacks are shared, blankets passed out, and phones off for the optimal home theatre experience.
Yet, Kara still feels bad. It’s not Esme’s fault she gets nervous around Lena now. Sensing her distress, Lena turns to rest more fully against Kara. She lays her head in Kara’s strong neck.
“Don’t feel bad, darling. It was an accident, and you did the right thing apologizing.”
Lena’s warm breath on her skin makes Kara shiver. She doesn’t respond verbally, only squeezing Lena once in acknowledgment.
By the time Tiana is preparing beignet’s, Lena has burrowed herself under a blanket, arms tucked up against Kara’s chest. Her warm breath hits Kara’s neck at every exhale.
Kara still hasn’t figured out what to do with her hands. One is tucked into the couch cushions and the other hangs over the arm rest. The position has to look awkward to everyone glancing at them.
The editor feels a warm hand touch her cheek to angle her face down. Lena looks into her eyes before moving up slightly to whisper into her ear.
“Relax, darling. You can hold me.” The lilting whisper is meant to soothe, instead it winds Kara up even more.
Tentatively, Kara moves one hand just above Lena’s knee while the other wraps around her back, cradling her close. The soft clothes the scientist is wearing are actually Kara’s, but boy do they look and feel infinitely better on Lena.
“Good?”
“Good. You can touch Kara, I won’t bite. Unless you ask, of course.” Lena nips at Kara neck playfully.
Rao, give me strength.
**********
Tonight is themed night at Al’s. This month, the theme is country. Kara sports a white tee tucked into beat dark blue jeans, brown cowboy boots, and a black cowboy hat.
Kara is at the bar waiting on the next round of orders when she feels Lena standing at her right, back to the bar and gazing out onto the dance floor. She looks out the corner of her eye, trailing her eyes up and down her friends figure.
The pants Lena is wearing are sinfully tight and flaring at the legs, hugging her curves perfectly. Her borrowed plaid shirt from Kara is tied in the front just below her sternum to hug her chest and show her belly. Her hair flows loosely, curling in its natural ringlets. The black one inch boots are comfortable, much more modest than her typical footwear.
Unfortunately for her, Lena notices.
“My eyes are up here.”
Cobalt eyes shoot to kryptonite green. A sheepish smile adorns her face.
“See anything you like in particular?” Lena asks cheekily, leaning back further on her elbows. This position happens to present her chest better than the first. It takes all of her Kryptonian strength to keep her eyes on Lena’s.
“Just admiring the view,” she smirks, tipping her hat down.
A boisterous laugh escapes Lena’s parted lips.
“I could say the same, darling.”
The ladies are interrupted by the arrival of their drinks, “Order for Kara?”
“Here! Thanks.” Kara grabs the tray and returns to the table. Lena follows behind, commenting on people’s outfits as they pass by.
Kara places the tray on the table, handing out drinks and food before returning to her previous seat in the booth. Lena remains standing, occupying the space behind Kara as she sips her drink, talking to Brainy about one project or another.
Nia perks up at the song change.
“Ohhh, I love this song! Lena, come dance with me!” She exclaims, pulling Lena to the dance floor by her hands.
Kara watches them go with a small smile. For so long, Lena had refused to believe that their friends were truly hers outside of a relationship with Kara. Seeing Lena dance with Nia, happy and carefree, warms her heart.
“Kara, go dance with her.”
“Huh?” Kara turns to the voice, eyes traveling to connect with Kelly’s across the table.
“Ask her to dance! Remember what we talked about? This is a chance for you to make your move.” Kelly reiterates.
“How should I ask her?”
“With your words, Kara. She’s not a stranger; go up to her and ask to dance. It’s that simple.”
Kara bites her lip, glancing back to the floor to see her friends dancing together.
“I can do this, right?”
“You can! Go go,” Kelly shoos.
“I got this. I got this.” Kara tells herself, weaving through the crowd to reach her friends.
Reaching them, she makes eye contact with Nia before looking to Lena, “Can I cut in?”
“Of course, darling. You don’t mind, do you, Nia?”
“Oh no, you go right ahead.” Nia smirks conspiritually. She gives Kara two thumbs up behind Lena’s back before disappearing to the table.
“So, uh. Would you do me the pleasure of sharing a dance?”
“How formal. Should I curtsey to accept your invitation?” She jokes.
Kara shrugs playfully. “A ‘yes’ will suffice.”
“Then yes, I would love to dance with you.”
Lena starts to sway, but Kara stands mostly still. Her “dancing” is often more of an awkward flail, and this certainly isn’t the time for that.
“I thought you wanted to dance; why are you so far away?”
“You want me closer?”
“Yes, Kara. Here; put your hands on my hips,” Lena grabs Kara’s hands, placing them low on her hips then wrapping her arms around Kara’s shoulders.
“See? Now move, you look like a deer in headlights.”
Kara’s wants to say: I feel like I’m staring into the sun.
What she really says is: “Okay.”
Kara follows Lena’s movement, going side to side, back and forth, moving to the rhythm of the beat. The lights flashing onto the brunettes skin make her look ethereal; like a being from out of this world (which really, Kara should be used to by now, seeing as she herself is a literal alien).
At the next song, the brunette turns in the taller woman’s arms, left hand dropping to hold Kara’s against her hip. She pressed her backside into Kara’s pelvis, hips never ceasing their movement even when the cadence of the beat changes abruptly. The music itself isn’t the quick beat of a line dance or the slow melody of a love ballad. Instead, it has a deep thrumming bass that Kara feels vibrating in her chest.
Pale skin feels incredibly hot beneath her clothes. Kara spreads her hands to palm at Lena’s hips and waist, but not trailing any farther above or below.
I may be using some…morally gray tactics, but I’m still a gentlewoman.
The hand grasping Kara’s neck pulls, tugging the blond to lean down to rest her lips near a pierced ear.
“Are you enjoying the dance?” Kara asks, testing the waters by pressing a quick kiss to the shell of her ear.
She feels a minute shiver emanate from her partner. “Very much so.”
Lena plays in loose hair at her nape, keeping her close and pliable. Kara is more than happy to wrap her body around Lena’s, molded to her back, hands roaming. When a pale hand reaches down to shift her open palm, Kara thought she’d gone too far somehow. That is, until Lena drags her hand up her side and across to rest on the naked skin of her stomach.
“You have to keep moving, Kara.”
“Sorry, you’re just so pretty. It distracts me,” Kara admits truthfully.
The brunette inhales sharply, movements pausing for a split second. Her heart thuds a little offbeat.
“Yeah?” She says questioningly, as if she doesn’t know she’s drop dead gorgeous.
“Absolutely,” states Kara. The tan hand on her stomach presses lightly, as if being closer is even possible. Lena doesn’t say anything, but Kara hopes she’s just as flustered as she was.
They move in silence for a while after that, relishing the closeness they’ve acquired.
Kara vaguely hears the DJ speaking into a mic, prompting people to take to the dance floor. “Okay, everybody! This hoedown is sure to get out your seats!”
An upbeat tempo comes on, making their current position a bit out of place. Kara watches people flood to the floor, forming lines and preparing to dance.
“Well that’s my cue, thanks for the dance, darling!” Lena turns in her arms, pressing a kiss to the corner of pink lips before walking past Kara.
On her way by, Lena grabs the hat on Karas head, placing it on her own as she retreats from the floor.
Kara stands there, fingers pressed to her face, watching tempting hips sway all the way back to the table.

ask and ye shall receive!!! context + fic clipping below
context: both bruce and clark are AFAB in this au. bruce's deadname is antigone, clark's i haven't actually picked yet but whatever! antigone wayne isn't out publicly, clark kent is; batman is batman and kal jor-el is supergirl. woohoo!
(this isn't edited, sorry for grammar or weird plot stuff. i like to think that i write with good grammar, but idk. the stuff in bold is footnotes (yes i do footnotes. fight me) but tumblr doesn't support those. enjoy!! :) )
One miasma and crime-coated night, not to say that all days and nights in Gotham aren’t like that, the Bat sees a flying woman. She’s dressed in blue and red with a giant S on her chest, roaming around Gotham, looking for something. Presumably. Batman does a quick search online.
Supergirl, a superpowered alien native to Metropolis, became active around a year and a half ago. She fashions herself a hero, and Metropolis residents certainly aren’t complaining. The Daily Planet has several interviews with her on record, though in every single one the interviewer was Lois Lane. She has a multitude of powers, not limited to invincibility, superstrength, laser vision, and flight. He’s almost jealous.
Of course, he already knew all of that [He keeps tabs on everything that could threaten Gotham—the database already spans 12 terabytes—and a superpowered alien definitely applies. He already has four fully constructed contingency plans with phases, steps, and instructions prepared, but another four couldn’t hurt. [Yes, they could, but that’s to worry about later.]], but why she’s come to Gotham is still a mystery. The Bat plans to find out.
She lands a few roofs away from the Bat’s current stakeout spot, seemingly frustrated, but he knows better. She’s pointedly not looking towards where he’s watching, instead faux-searching the previous row of buildings that she’d already searched. She, quite literally, twiddles her thumbs.
He can’t get out of this, can he. He quickly adds super senses, x-ray vision? to the powers list before standing, silencing the click of his boots to try and stay hidden as long as he can, knowing that it’s a futile effort. To her credit, Supergirl does a good job of pretending to be fooled.
“What do you want,” he intones, standing with shadows draped over him like blankets. Right now, to a normal human, he’d be a pair of white slits where his eyes are. He has no idea what Supergirl sees.
She pretends to startle. “Dear—Rao, you scared me!” She rubs a hand on the back of her neck, smiling sheepishly, before flying over to stand in front of him.
Her eyes are inhumanly blue, with glowing white irises. They’re enchanting.
“Leave Gotham.” He narrows his eyes.
“Woah there!” she says, holding her hands up, palms out. Is she trying to look less intimidating? Does she think that he’ll think that she’s, what, cramping his I am a terrifying vigilante style? “I just want to talk to you! Can you spare five minutes?”
“No.”
“Three minutes?”
“No.”
“One minute and you consider what I say?”
He considers. “No.”
“Great!” Supergirl looks inordinately pleased with herself and her technicality. She takes a deep breath, one that seems to make a slight rattling purr. “So!”
One excruciating minute later, the Bat has a rudimentary understanding of the superhero club Supergirl’s trying to start and an unwelcome reminder of why he stopped watching most videos on 2x speed. He squints his eyes further.
Supergirl’s stopped floating, holding her hands behind her back and looking cheery. Even standing at his full height with his boots, she’s taller than him.
To be fair, it’s not a completely unsalvageable idea. Having an alliance already set up for world-ending threats with other superpowered people saves the ideological arguments for drawing the contracts up, not when something’s trying to absorb all oxygen from Earth or something similar. [Simply a hypothetical; Ivy doesn’t work at as large of a scale.] Supergirl already has a roster in mind, including him for some reason, but that’s about all that’s been prepared in advance.
There are several flaws with this plan: first, he doesn’t have superpowers. Supergirl had explicitly said “superhero team,” and he fits on none of the counts. Besides that oversight, the logistics weren’t thought out at all. Where would they be operating? What are they planning to do? Who’s taking responsibility for this? How are they going to settle the power structure? Conflicts of interest? The governmental alliances alone deserve an entirely separate discussion, and funding—dear God, funding.
All of it is incredibly idealistic. Did Supergirl come all the way to Gotham to propose a first draft to the Bat of Gotham? That’s an insult, even disregarding the fact that she’d interrupted him on patrol.
“Why now decide to make a team?” As good an opener as any. Supergirl seems to mistake his skepticism as curiosity, looking pleased.
“So, the United Nations contacted me—” she grimaces for a split-second— “and asked if I could be their interplanetary defense person. Basically. And I’m totally not against that!” She holds her hands palms-outward again, bashful. “But I don’t think it’s a job I can do totally on my own. And I felt like it was right to ask, since you’re kinda the first superhero, y’know?”
He did not know that. Some quick mental math reveals—yeah, he was the first. Supergirl made her debut a few months after he did, Wonder Woman revealed Themyscira shortly after, and now it’s a tossup of which superhuman will come out of the woodwork this month. Fuck, and he started it. Shit.
He grunts. She hesitates, before taking it in stride. “What do you think? Questions, comments?”
Plenty, but he doesn’t care to give her the entire roadmap. “Short-sighted. This ‘Justice Party’” —some vicious, clawed airquotes are employed— “will starve to death even with my involvement.” What did she think was going to happen? Her and her tea party sing kumbaya while he duct tapes the entire operation together?
Supergirl winces. “So that’s a no?” She sounds disgustingly hopeful.
He glares at 52% intensity. “No.”
As her face falls, the Bat fades into the darkness, jumping off the building almost faster than the human eye can see. He doesn't have any data on what Supergirl can and can't see.
As he makes his exit, he hears a faint, frustrated “Goddammit,” alongside a sniffle.
It’s good for her to be disappointed now, Bruce tells himself. The world is disappointing, cruel, and unkind, and it’s best for her to shape up before she actually puts it into motion.
He tells himself that, listening to Supergirl fly off crying.
( @securitycapecreature wanted to be tagged when the fic was posted; i think this counts at least a little)

My favourite headcanon about the DC universe is that no one outside Gotham takes Gothamites seriously. They're the cringe edgelords of US cities. Crime rate below Hub City and they don't even need superpowers to fight their rogues and yet they want us to believe they're somehow more badass because they can't deal with an edgy clown? I had to evacuate Metropolis last week because Lex Luthor was doing his usual fuckshit and accidentally summoned Darkseid, and my job didn't even want to cover my days off. Had to tell Supergirl about my boss so she could track our CEO down and demand we all get hazard pay, but go ahead Gotham citizen tell me about your regular human who just calls himself the Penguin and how crazy it is living near him.

The Flight of the Owl / Supergirl x Grayson! Female Reader
Tumblr media
Which, Y/n Grayson — Dick Grayson’s twin sister and a former Talon, returns to Gotham after escaping her dark past. Struggling to fit in with the Batfamily, she feels isolated, despite her brother’s support. But then she met her— the light that came to shine in her life.
Word count: 3644
A/n: This was requested by an anon. Enjoy it!
The city of Gotham never truly slept. Its towering buildings and endless alleys buzzed with the lives of those who lived in the shadows. Among them, a figure moved silently across the rooftops, her body cloaked in black and silver. Her mask, designed with sharp owl features, concealed her identity as she leaped from one ledge to another, effortlessly blending with the night.
Owlgirl.
Once, Y/n had been an instrument of the Court of Owls—a Talon. They had taken her as a child, along with her twin brother, Dick. But where Dick had escaped, raised by Bruce Wayne as Gotham’s first Robin, Y/n had been caught and twisted into a weapon of the Court. They’d trained her, honed her skills, and erased the memory of her former life.
But despite their efforts, her memories, her true self, had clawed its way back.
And now she was free.
Or at least, free from the Court.
The Batcave was colder than she remembered. The low hum of the Batcomputer filled the space as Y/n stood awkwardly by the entrance, shifting her weight from foot to foot. Dick—her brother—stood a few feet away, his expression torn between relief and uncertainty.
She’d reunited with him just days ago, showing up at his apartment in Blüdhaven, disheveled and exhausted after escaping the Court. Y/n hadn’t known what to expect, but she hadn’t expected him to hug her so tightly that night.
Now, standing in the Batcave, surrounded by the rest of the Batfamily—Bruce, Tim, Damian, and even Barbara, who watched her with wary eyes— Y/n felt the familiar claws of isolation scratching at her insides.
“I still can’t believe it,” Dick said, his voice thick with emotion as he approached her. “I looked for you for so long. I thought… I thought you were gone.”
Y/n smiled faintly beneath her mask. “I thought I was too.”
The others were silent. Bruce’s calculating eyes observed her with an intensity that made her stomach churn. Tim’s posture was tense, his body language hesitant. Damian, always a bit more blunt, spoke first.
“So, we’re just supposed to trust her now?” he asked, crossing his arms over his chest. “She’s one of them.”
Y/n stiffened. She wanted to snap back, to tell him that she wasn’t one of them anymore, but the truth was that part of her still was. She’d been a Talon for most of her life. It wasn’t easy to erase that.
“I’m not asking for trust,” she muttered, averting her gaze. “I’m just… trying to help.”
“Give her time,” Dick cut in, a protective edge in his tone. “She’s not the enemy.”
Y/n bit her lip, feeling the weight of their stares. It was clear that she was an outsider here, despite being blood. She was Dick’s sister, but she wasn’t one of them. Not yet. Maybe not ever.
———————
Days turned into weeks, and though she tried to adjust, Y/n struggled to fit in with the Batfamily. Their teamwork was flawless, their banter light but filled with trust and camaraderie. She found herself holding back during missions, afraid to act on the violent instincts the Court had ingrained in her. It left her feeling like she was dragging them down.
It wasn’t just the missions, though. In the quiet moments, when they weren’t fighting crime, Y/n felt awkward and out of place. Conversations would happen around her, but she rarely knew how to join in. She wasn’t used to this—family. She wasn’t used to normal.
She’d catch glimpses of Dick laughing with Tim or sparring with Damian, and it would twist something deep inside her. She had no memories of growing up with him, of the bond they should have shared. And it made her feel like she didn’t belong in his world.
One evening, after a particularly tough mission, Y/n slipped away to one of Gotham’s quieter rooftops, needing space to breathe. She sat on the edge, staring out at the city’s skyline, feeling the cold wind bite at her skin.
She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t notice the figure landing beside her until a soft voice spoke.
“You know, Gotham isn’t all bad.”
Y/n glanced up, her eyes widening slightly. Supergirl hovered just above the rooftop, her blonde hair fluttering in the wind, a small smile playing on her lips.
“What are you doing here?” Y/n asked, surprised.
“I heard you’ve been working with the Batfamily,” Supergirl replied, landing gracefully beside her. “Thought I’d see how you were doing.”
Y/n blinked, unsure why Supergirl of all people would care. “I’m… fine,” she said, though her tone betrayed her uncertainty.
Supergirl raised an eyebrow. “You don’t sound fine.”
For a moment, there was silence. Y/n had never been good at opening up. But there was something about Supergirl’s presence—something warm, understanding. Maybe it was the fact that she, too, had lived through loss and displacement. Maybe it was the way she wasn’t staring at Y/n with suspicion or pity, but rather with quiet empathy.
“It’s hard,” Y/n admitted after a moment. “Being around them. They’re all… close. I don’t know how to be that.”
Supergirl nodded, sitting down beside her. “It’s not easy fitting into a family like theirs. Trust takes time. But you’ll get there.”
“Will I?” Y/n scoffed. “I’ve been trained to be something… something they’re not. Something dangerous.”
“Hey,” Supergirl said gently, turning to face her. “You’re not that anymore. You’re here because you chose to be, right?”
Y/n looked down at her hands, flexing her fingers. “I guess.”
“You’re not alone, you know,” Supergirl continued. “I get it. Trying to find your place, being different from everyone around you. But you don’t have to figure it out alone.”
For the first time in what felt like ages, Y/n felt a sense of relief. Supergirl wasn’t judging her or treating her like an outsider. She just understood.
They spent the rest of the night talking—about everything and nothing. And for the first time since joining the Batfamily, Y/n didn’t feel so out of place.
From that night on, Y/n and Supergirl began spending more time together. They trained together, patrolled together, and even met up in civilian life. Supergirl—or Kara, as she introduced herself—was a light in Y/n’s dark world. Kara never pushed her, never made her feel like she had to be anything but herself.
It was Kara who made her laugh when the weight of her past grew too heavy. It was Kara who stood by her when the others were wary. And before long, that friendship deepened into something more.
One night, after a long patrol, they found themselves back on the same rooftop where they’d first really talked. As they sat side by side, Y/n glanced at Kara, her heart pounding in her chest.
“You know,” Y/n said softly, her voice almost lost in the wind. “You’re the only person who makes me feel like I’m not broken.”
Kara smiled, her eyes softening as she turned to face her. “You’re not broken,” she whispered. “You’re stronger than anyone I know.”
The distance between them closed, and before Y/n knew it, Kara’s lips were on hers—gentle, warm, and full of all the things Y/n had been too scared to admit she felt.
When they pulled away, Kara’s smile was even brighter. “We’ll figure this out together,” she said, her voice full of certainty.
And for the first time in a long time, Y/n believed it.
——————
Y/n hadn’t realized just how much she needed someone like Kara in her life until that kiss. It was as if the weight of everything she’d been carrying for years—the isolation, the guilt, the fear of not belonging—had lightened just a little. There was still darkness inside her, sure, but now there was light, too. And that light had blonde hair and piercing blue eyes that saw right through her walls.
But even as Kara filled the void in her heart, the struggles with the Batfamily persisted. It was hard for Y/n to fully break free from the shadow of her past as a Talon. Every mission seemed like a test of trust, and no matter how much time passed, she felt the subtle suspicion in their eyes. Even Dick, who tried his best to make her feel welcome, had moments where she could see him falter as if he wasn’t sure if she’d truly left the Court behind.
A few nights after her first kiss with Kara, Y/n found herself alone in the Batcave again. The dim lights flickered as the hum of the Batcomputer filled the silence. She was tinkering with her suit, adjusting the talon-like gauntlets that had once been the signature of her deadly past. But no matter how much she modified the suit, she couldn’t shake the feeling that it was still a reminder of who she used to be.
“Can’t sleep?” Dick’s voice startled her from across the cave.
Y/n looked up to see her brother approaching, dressed in his Nightwing suit, his mask pulled back, revealing the familiar face she still hadn’t completely reconciled as family. He gave her a small smile, but there was concern in his eyes.
“Just… thinking,” she muttered, turning her attention back to her gauntlets.
He sat down beside her on the bench, resting his elbows on his knees. “You’ve been quiet lately.”
Y/n shrugged, not sure how to explain the whirlwind of thoughts swirling in her mind. It wasn’t just the struggle with the Batfamily anymore—it was her complicated feelings about her past, her present, and now… her future with Kara.
“I know it’s been rough,” Dick continued, his tone softer now. “But you don’t have to do this alone. We’re all here for you.”
“Are you?” The words slipped out before Y/n could stop them, bitterness lacing her voice.
Dick frowned. “Of course we are. I’m your brother.”
“Yeah, but…” She sighed, struggling to find the right words. “You guys don’t trust me. I see it in your eyes. I can feel it on missions. And maybe you’re right not to. I’m not like you, Dick. I was a Talon. I did things that… that you’ll never understand.”
“You don’t have to be like us,” Dick said, his voice gentle. “You don’t have to be perfect. None of us are. Look at Bruce, look at me, Tim, Damian—every one of us has our baggage. You’re not alone in that.”
“But it’s not the same,” Y/n said, her voice cracking. “I was a weapon. I killed for them. I can’t just… I can’t just act like none of that happened.”
Dick’s expression softened further, but before he could respond, a voice interrupted from the shadows.
“You shouldn’t have to,” Bruce said, stepping into the light. His presence was always imposing, and tonight was no different. “No one’s asking you to forget.”
Y/n swallowed hard, meeting Bruce’s intense gaze. His eyes were hard to read, but there was something in them that almost resembled understanding.
“We all carry our pasts with us,” Bruce continued, his voice low but steady. “But what matters is what you choose to do now. You’ve chosen to fight against the people who once controlled you. That takes strength. More strength than most people have.”
For a moment, Y/n was stunned. Bruce Wayne wasn’t one for emotional speeches, but his words hit harder than she expected.
“I just…” she hesitated. “I don’t want to let you down.”
“You won’t,” Bruce said simply.
It wasn’t much, but it was enough for now.
———————
Over the next few weeks, Y/n found herself gravitating more toward Kara. The Batfamily was still…her family, but Kara was the one person who made her feel truly seen. Kara didn’t just understand her struggles; she shared her own stories of loss and displacement, of being an alien in a world that wasn’t hers. They’d go out for lunch as civilians—Y/n still struggling with what to wear, while Kara easily blended in with her carefree personality—and spend the evenings patrolling together as heroes.
Their relationship deepened with every passing day, but it was more than just romance. With Kara, Y/n felt safe in a way she hadn’t since her childhood. Kara didn’t ask her to change or to hide the darker parts of herself; she simply accepted them.
It wasn’t long before Kara invited Y/n to Metropolis, where they could leave the shadows of Gotham behind for a while. Y/n had never been to Metropolis, and when she arrived, the brightness of the city was almost overwhelming. It was so different from the gloomy, crime-ridden streets of Gotham.
Kara showed her around the city, taking her to all her favorite spots, and introducing her to people she trusted. They went to the top of the Daily Planet, the wind whipping through their hair as they looked out over the bustling city.
“This is more your speed, huh?” Kara teased, nudging her playfully.
Y/n couldn’t help but smile. “It’s different.”
“Different isn’t bad,” Kara said, her voice soft as she turned to face her. “You don’t always have to be in the dark. You deserve the light too.”
Y/n’s heart swelled at the words. She’d spent so long in the shadows—first as a Talon, then struggling to fit into the Batfamily. But with Kara, she felt like maybe there was a place for her in the light after all.
Back in Gotham, the Batfamily began to notice the shift in Y/n. Though she still struggled with her past, there was a new calmness in her, a newfound confidence. She was still learning, still trying to find her place, but she wasn’t fighting alone anymore.
One night, after a particularly successful mission, Tim approached her as they returned to the Batcave. His demeanor was less tense than usual.
“You’ve been… different lately,” he commented, not unkindly.
Y/n raised an eyebrow, unsure of what he meant. “Different how?”
“In a good way,” he clarified. “Less guarded. More… yourself, I guess.”
Y/n was about to brush it off, but something about his tone made her pause. She glanced at Dick, who gave her an encouraging nod, and then at Bruce, who, while silent, seemed to approve.
“Maybe,” she said, a small smile tugging at her lips. “I guess I’m learning that it’s okay to be both. The Talon… and now… Owlgirl.”
Tim gave her a small grin. “Well, whatever it is, it’s working.”
As they all began to settle down, Y/n felt her phone buzz in her pocket. A quick glance showed a message from Kara.
Kara: Metropolis tomorrow? I miss you already.
Y/n’s smile grew wider, her heart lifting. Maybe things weren’t perfect yet. Maybe the shadows of her past would never completely disappear. But with Kara by her side and the Batfamily starting to trust her, she finally felt like she was finding her place.
And for the first time in a long time, Y/n felt like she could face the future—not as a weapon of the Court, but as herself.
Bonus Chapter:
It had been a while since Y/n had felt any semblance of peace, but today was different. Today, there was no looming mission, no lurking shadows, and no heavy silence from the Batcave. Today, she was just… herself.
She and Kara had left Gotham early in the morning, flying to Metropolis for a much-needed break from the chaos. It was a bright, sunny day—one of those rare days when the world seemed so much simpler, where the line between hero and civilian blurred into nothingness. And that was exactly what Y/n needed.
They’d been spending more and more time together, sneaking away from the watchful eyes of Gotham’s gloom to Kara’s bright, inviting world. Kara had suggested a day at Centennial Park, a place Y/n had never visited. At first, the idea of spending an entire day relaxing in the sun felt foreign to her—her life had been so defined by missions, patrols, and the constant weight of her past. But Kara was persuasive.
“You’ll love it,” Kara had said, her smile as bright as the city itself. “Just trust me.”
And as usual, Kara had been right.
The two sat on a soft blanket in the middle of the park, surrounded by families, couples, and joggers enjoying the late afternoon sunshine. Y/n, out of her costume and wearing simple jeans and a t-shirt, felt almost… normal. The contrast between the cold, brooding streets of Gotham and the warm, open fields of Metropolis was stark, but she was starting to appreciate the light more and more.
Kara sat beside her, her legs stretched out as she lazily skimmed through a book she’d brought. Despite her superhuman abilities, Kara had a natural ease to her. No urgency, no rush. It was something Y/n admired.
“You’re really into that book, huh?” Y/n teased, nudging Kara with her elbow.
Kara glanced up from the book, her blue eyes sparkling. “Oh, yeah. Thrilling stuff. It’s a history book on Kryptonian culture. You wouldn’t believe the fashion sense back then.”
Y/n smirked, leaning back on her hands, her eyes half-closed as she soaked in the warmth of the sun. “Kryptonian fashion, huh? That sounds riveting.”
“It’s not all capes and tights, I promise,” Kara laughed, placing the book down. She turned to look at Y/n, a smile playing on her lips. “You look relaxed.”
Y/n opened her eyes, glancing at her. “Do I?”
“Yeah,” Kara said softly. “It’s good to see.”
For a moment, they simply sat there, the noise of the park fading into the background. Y/n let herself breathe in the calm, feeling the weight she so often carried lift, even if just for a little while. There was something about being with Kara that made her forget the constant need to be vigilant, to be on guard.
In Kara’s presence, she didn’t have to be Owlgirl. She didn’t have to be a former Talon. She could just be Y/n.
“Thank you,” Y/n said after a moment, her voice quieter than usual.
Kara’s brow furrowed in confusion. “For what?”
“For… all of this,” Y/n gestured to the park, the sun, and the life around them. “For being here. For letting me… I don’t know. Just be myself.”
Kara reached out and took Y/n’s hand, lacing their fingers together. “You don’t have to thank me for that. I like you. Every part of you. Even the parts you think are too dark.”
Y/n’s chest tightened at Kara’s words. It was one thing to hear it from her brother, or even Bruce. But coming from Kara, it felt different. Like it was something more than acceptance—something deeper.
“You’re the only person who makes me feel like I don’t have to keep running,” Y/n admitted, her voice almost a whisper. “Like I can stop hiding.”
Kara squeezed her hand gently. “Then stop running. You don’t have to hide with me. Ever.”
They shared a quiet smile before Kara stood up, tugging on Y/n’s hand playfully. “Come on.”
Y/n arched an eyebrow. “Where are we going?”
“Just trust me,” Kara repeated, her grin wide as she pulled Y/n to her feet. “I’ve got an idea.”
With a soft laugh, Y/n followed Kara through the park until they reached a small, hidden corner by the lake, where only a few people wandered about. Kara let go of her hand for a moment and took a few steps forward, spinning around in the sun.
“Isn’t it beautiful?” Kara asked, her arms outstretched as she soaked in the warmth of the day.
Y/n couldn’t help but smile. “Yeah. It is.”
But she wasn’t looking at the view. She was looking at Kara.
Later that evening, after the sun had begun to dip below the horizon and the park had started to clear out, they sat by the lake’s edge, the water calm and still. The world felt softer here like there was nothing to worry about, no responsibilities, no danger.
“I could get used to this,” Y/n murmured, leaning her head on Kara’s shoulder. “I never thought I’d say that.”
Kara rested her head against hers, her voice soft. “That’s because you’ve spent too much time in the dark.”
“Maybe,” Y/n said. “But it feels… good. Not fighting. Not worrying.”
Kara chuckled. “Well, don’t get too comfortable. We both know Gotham won’t stay quiet for long.”
Y/n sighed. “Yeah. I know.”
“But you’ll always have this,” Kara added. “Whenever you need it, you can come here. I’ll be here.”
There was a long pause, and for the first time in a long while, Y/n felt something she hadn’t allowed herself to feel in years: hope.
——————-
As the night fell, they sat in comfortable silence, listening to the sounds of the water and the distant murmur of the city. Kara’s hand found hers again, and at that moment, Y/n knew she wasn’t alone. She didn’t have to face her past or her future by herself.
Maybe she hadn’t completely figured out how to fit into the Batfamily. Maybe she never fully would. But she had Kara, and that was more than enough.
“You know,” Kara said after a while, her tone light but teasing, “if you ever get tired of Gotham’s gloom, I could use a partner in Metropolis.”
Y/n chuckled. “Is that a formal invitation?”
Kara grinned. “It’s whatever you want it to be.”
Y/n smiled to herself, squeezing Kara’s hand gently. “I’ll think about it.”
As they sat together, the city lights reflecting on the calm surface of the lake, Y/n knew that, no matter what happened, she finally had something she hadn’t felt in a long time: a future. And with Kara by her side, that future didn’t seem so uncertain anymore.
In the light of Metropolis, Y/n allowed herself to hope, to love, and to believe that maybe—just maybe—she could be more than the shadows that once consumed her.

Heroes & Villains The DC Animated Universe - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles
Live Wire
Leslie Willis was a popular radio shock-jock who made a habit of ridiculing Superman. Leslie's outspoken and polarizing style garnered her as many supporters as disputants, all of which made her show quite popular.  Hoping to further her fame, Leslie produced an outdoor show demanding that Superman come and answer her hard-hitting questions.
Superman did indeed show, but only because there was an approaching electrical storm and Willis’ out-door antenna was putting her and those who gathered to see her all in danger.  Before Willis could be coerced to call off her show, a bolt of lightning struck.  Superman stepped forward to shield Willis, absorbing most of the bolt; yet the current bounced off of Superman and electrocuted Willis.
The lightning coupled with Superman’s alien physiology had a strange impact on Willis.  It transformed her into an energy being possessing vast electrokinetic powers.  Now calling herself ‘Live Wire,’ Willis became a super villain.  She blamed Superman for what had happened to her and has attempted on several occasions to take her revenge by killing the Man of Steel.  Fortunately, Superman has been able to fight off these attacks and Live Wire has been detained until a cure for her condition could be found.
A discovery at Wayne Enterprises looked as though it could prove promising in potentially reversing Willis’ transformation.  When Live Wire was being transported to the Wayne Enterprises facility in Gotham, however, she broke free.  She found kindred spirits in the fellow vilenesses, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn, and the three of them went about a destructive crime spree.
Live Wire and her allies were eventually defeated by the combined efforts of Batgirl and Supergirl.  The villainess was subsequently returned to incarceration in Metropolis.  She would later escape once more and joined both The Superman Revenge Squad and later The Legion of Doom.
Actresses Lori Petty and Kari Wahlgren each provided the voice for Live Wire with the electrical menace first appearing in the fifth episode of the second season of Superman: The Animated Series, 'Live Wire.'

I've been thinking a lot about DCU stuff and Ace Attorney thoughts got mixed in by accident, because it's got a lot of the same themed, colorful character designs and silly pun names. So, of course, I started immediately daydreaming about a DCU-style Superhero AU for Ace Attorney. (I often do not fully control what I think about.)
And then I was like, "I think I just finally have to play Ace Attorney at this point, before I get stuck in a weird daydream loop because I don't know enough about the plot to worldbuild properly. I will let this be the final push to just start these games."
Based on my extremely limited knowledge (I have only actually played 2 episodes of the first game), here are my Superhero AU thoughts so far. I don't like 1-1 character role match-ups in general when I fuse worlds, so none of these AA characters are fully aligned with any particular DCU character.
Phoenix Wright would make a good speedster, I think. This is partially because of the spiky hair, but also because there's a terrible irony to being the fastest man in the world who keeps being too late to stop certain tragedies. It also suits the way he's apparently never properly prepared for anything but also quickly manages to pull through. He's probably still a defense attorney in his civilian identity. (In accordance with later games, he has to stop being a superhero for several years when he's framed for a crime.)
Besides Phoenix's mentor Mia, who is also both a superhero and a lawyer, ordinary civilian Larry Butz is the only person who initially knows that Phoenix has superpowers. He honestly hasn't told anyone Phoenix's secret identity! But Larry also somehow gets into more scrapes and "damsel in distress" situations than Lois Lane and he's not even an investigative reporter.
Mia Fey, Maya Fey, and Pearl Fey have a Shazam situation, I think, in which they transform into a "Mystic Champion" magically empowered by the ghosts of their ancestors. Like a Shazam & Danny Phantom fusion. Mia Fey was the first in her family to become a publicly known superhero. A lot of people don't know that it's not the original Mystic Champion (same face and same superpowered form as Mia, which breaks Phoenix's heart a little every time) until Maya or Pearl transforms back into a regular girl after the fight is over.
I think Miles Edgeworth is a Batman type hero, but one still partially ensnared by Manfred von Karma, who is his Ra's al Ghul. (This makes Franziska into Talia, but there is definitely nothing romantic there.) Maybe he does have superpowers of some kind, maybe not, and he could still potentially be a prosecutor. He doesn't have a Brucie persona, though. Phoenix is not impressed by Edgeworth's harsh and even cruel approach to vigilante work. (Steel Samurai was Miles' Gray Ghost or Zorro hero inspiration, I'm guessing.)
Gumshoe is Miles' Commissioner Gordon figure and doesn't know his secret identity yet. He's either going to learn in the middle of a really bad situation or he's just going to straight-up figure it out himself one day and scare the hell out of Miles.
I'm still thinking about characters like Kristoph and Klavier Gavin, Apollo Justice, and Trucy Wright, but I don't know enough about them to fully flesh these thoughts out yet. I think the Gavins would make good Kryptonian equivalents (a cold and calculating Superman and a rockstar Supergirl), Apollo might make a good Wonder Girl equivalent (his bracelet becomes a Lasso of Truth) as the lost son of an Amazon, and Trucy would obviously be fun as a Zatanna type of hero.

I’d really like to hear your thoughts on MAWS characters alongside Lois, if you want to do that of that’s entirely up to you but it would be really interesting ^_^
I've written about maws a fair bit on this blog! You can find my general thoughts on the jesncin talks maws tag and my massive maws Lois essay here for my thoughts on her. Suffice to say I'm not a fan of this show, lol. I haven't been able to stomach watching season 2 so my entire knowledge is limited to season 1. With that said, roundup of my thoughts on maws characters:
Clark Kent: boring. Vanilla. Critical lack of hero motivation and idealism outside of "people are getting hurt!" as a platitude. Just some guy who does chores because that's the nice thing to do. Not defeating the Superman Is Boring allegations- just has an uwu cute cinnamon roll himbo filter on it.
Lois Lane: xenophobic asian lois lane is the worst crime ever committed to me. A historically jaded, award winning, accomplished career woman fighting against work place misogyny is now a cutesty uwu girl-failure who needs the help of two men to get hired. Barf.
Jimmy Olsen: I get the attempt at making him a conspiracy theorist as a means of tapping into Jimmy's wacky silver age antics and to bounce off of Clark for shenanigans, but it doesn't meaningfully interrogate how that is at odds with his job as a journalist. Also he was sidelined hard in S1- more than he was in CW Supergirl.
Perry White: I was hoping that unlike STAS and if MAWS was going to pull from anime, that this meant strong relationships with Superman's cast system. But nope. Perry is just a running gag. I was hoping for a Snapper and Kara dynamic like in CW Supergirl.
Scoop troop (Cat Grant, Ronnie Troupe, Steve Lombard): Superfluous characters, easily delete-able. All of which have been reinterpreted as anime stereotypes. Yawn.
Newskid Legion: Also delete-able and a waste of my time. They should be called newsies. They make no sense as outdated characters placed in a futuristic setting. What is child labor doing this late in the game. Be more creative with modernizing outdated characters.
Pa and Ma Kent: Boring. The biggest problem you can have with the Kents is making them generic supportive parents like they're sentient Hallmark cards. Pa Kent got the bad end of the stick as the clueless parent, while Ma Kent was pushed as the heart of the family to Clark. Not that she did much.
Vicki Vale: Absolutely insane of this show to add another Asian xenophobe woman journalist. The MAWS crew love gloating about how they're not going to include Batman in MAWS, but they can't resist putting a Gothamite in their show and stealing rogues from other heroes. Could've brought Angela Chen (a canonically asian Metropolis reporter) from STAS but I guess she's not as big a name as a Gotham character, eh?
Livewire: the glowdown of a century. DCSHG continues to outperform every modern version of this character. Why make her a generic smuggler when her original job as a shock jokey is far more interesting?? Podcaster or influencer was right there. Her motives make no sense too.
Intergang crew: Why. Did they consolidate. Banshee with two random rogues (Mist & Roughouse) and call them Intergang. That's so many glowdowns at once. I've never seen someone look at a hero's diverse rogues gallery and say "let's consolidate all these characters so we have less material to work with in the future". I hate how the rogues are all tech based, and share the same origin. These baddies kickstarted the show's "villains with petty crime motivations": no ideological or thematic draw to them.
Ivo/Parasite: Another villain with nonsensical motivations. His business is going bankrupt so he sets up an investor event party to show off his Black Panther Lexo suit (which was apparently a response to Superman! A stranger that we can't trust! And somehow these expensive suits are more trustworthy) only to attack his investors and get owned by Superman. Then he just has a hateful vendetta against Superman. People who think this is a good Parasite interpretation because they projected vague Elon Musk are kidding themselves. I could clown on MAWS' Ivo all day. He is so badly written.
Heatwave: Why genderbend a Flash villain when Superman already has a Fire Woman in his rogues gallery? Volcana? Remember her? She's from the same show yall got Livewire from? Praise this show all you want for "reigniting interest in Superman", it's clear they're willing to toss away actual Superman cast characters for more popular characters from other heroes when it suits them. What's Heatwave's motivations? Petty crime.
Slade Wilson/Deathstroke: Imagine building this character up to be a big threat only to do nothing with him lol. I can't take him seriously, his voice acting is the worst and I hate his design. This show is so desperate to make attractive villains for fangirls it's frankly pathetic. How did people even mistaken him for Superman? He doesn't FLY.
Mallah and The Brain: This is what happens when you revive gay villains and put them through the HarlIvy Respectability Beam on fast forward. The gay villains aren't villains anymore! Because that would be bad representation! They're now cute cuddly domestic dads who want to raise robot children and run away together!! How TRITE. Mallah has "american faking a french accent" syndrome but bad voice acting is the norm in this show.
Mxy: The one time they include a villain that Lois and Jimmy could easily help Superman defeat (Mxy's whole deal is that you can send him to his dimension by tricking him to spell or say his name backwards) they opt to make it even dumber by just "removing his hat". Because the MAWS crew aren't smart enough to think of ways Superman and his pals can trick Mxy. For the record, CW Supergirl got this right in comparison.
Legion of Loises: It's the way this show can't write competent women even when that's the goal. All the characters act so stupid and that includes the Legion of Loises. At least MAWS!Lois learns the important lesson that even though she's not as accomplished as these career focused versions of her, at least she can keep her man. Misogyny in a cute package.
Alex/Lex Luthor: Go away. Ugly design I can't stand him. Miserable voice acting as usual.
Amanda Waller: She's pretty generic here. Playing second fiddle to Sam Lane for the most part, but this show has a problem with fleshing out Black characters in general so.
Sam Lane: We now have up to THREE asian xenophobes in MAWS season 1. The crew did not think their diversity through because at the end of the day S1 was really about a White Guy Alien getting oppressed by mostly people of color. Without a hint of irony.
Jor-El: I thought the language barrier between him and Clark was an inspired choice and clever as a means of postponing Clark learning about his heritage. But nope. Jor-El just starts magically talking in English later on. Otherwise boring and generic!
Brainy: I know he's prominent in S2 so I can't speak much for his character from the small impression I got of him in S1, but I can say that he looks mad ugly <3 truly horrible rogues designs in this show.
PHEW!! That's my roundup of MAWS character opinions! Wild how I can't even pinpoint a character I like on this show, lol. I know Kara's in S2 as well, and what I've seen of her sounds awful. Her design is bad too. I'm just not ready for the heartbreak of meeting that version of her because I love Supergirl so much :((
