Part 2 of 4 of: The Kiffie Bullyshit Saga Continues
In part one I introduced you to Kiffie, the man, the legend, the most prolific musician that has ever been (Self proclaimed of course). Now, here's the thing, before we get into the nutty nitty gritty of what happened to me after he started telling people that I'm a massive evil bully, I wish to state for the record that I don't hate Kiffie, in fact I encourage everyone to listen to his music. I think there's nothing more embarrassing for the guy than giving him what he craves, attention and an audience for his terrible shoddy works. Listen to his trite lyrics, experience the bad production and the woeful lyrics for yourself. Make your own mind up. I have never once told anybody not to listen to or play his music. I've never tried to have radio hosts not play him.
Let's get into it...
Here is Kiffie sending an out of the blue message to the manager of a band I was friendly with at the time. Nice guy, I've been meaning to reconnect with him. This message was sent after the first time I was suspended from Twitter. Nobody had pointed a finger at Kiffie at this point, but seemingly he pointed one at himself. This wasn't helped much because not long before the second suspension (both on Bandcamp Fridays) I received this from one of Kiffie's then pals...
Hmmm... Now combine this with the fact that after both suspensions I saw posts from himself and a few of his buddies in threads that I deserved these suspensions, and hang on a minute... Well, I don't think it takes a detective to work out what was going on here.
While slightly annoying, it's only social media right, who cares, but the thing that annoyed me was, at the time I was raising money for cancer research with my music, usually 70-100 euro a month, not very much but it was for a good cause and it adds up. Well, I was suspended the second time for 3 months. Oddly, both times were Bandcamp Fridays, and even more weird, the second time, in April of 2022, Kiffie brought out his own charity Bandcamp project, what a coincidence!
I decided to make in the space of about half an hour, a SoundCloud page and 4 shit songs in Kiffie's own style, I called it Piffy and it was my response to the utter stupidity of having this sad bloke go around and tell people to report me for nothing at all, I added some of the same people that followed Kiffie and within less than a day he was raging about it, telling his followers not to follow the page, that it was all the work of a massive troll bully.
I honestly thought it might make the guy stop his antics and consider sodding off, but instead it inflamed him, I started work on a side project, Vampire Tree and had a new Twitter account, he found that new Twitter account within the space of a day too. Impressive stuff. It was around the same time he started getting angry with random people and began accusing them of being me. This became a theme going forward. At first these accounts he called out were seemingly random and he just called them weird or creepy if he was blocked but then he just openly started saying I was these people.
Hmmm... Normal stuff.
I decided to send him an email via Bandcamp. At this point Kiffie was going about spewing angry at the parody songs, saying he had a 12 page PDF of all the abuse I had apparently sent him and that he was going to the police. I had done nothing but say the guy had a massive ego and blocked him, and put out some parody songs in his style that were so on point that he was going nuts. Not exactly me bullying him, I mean, I was the one with a twice suspended Twitter account and evidence he had told people to report me, even though I'd done nothing...
He responded denying any wrongdoing and asked me if I wanted to collab! I was floored. The egotistical balls on him. He blamed middle men, meddlers, others. I told him to shove it, I said his music was piss, I said I thought he should be reported to his school and shouldn't be incharge of teaching children, that he was obviously unbalanced. Again I thought, hey this will be the end of it, I gave him a chance to say sorry and maybe some strong words might get him to f off, no. Didn't work. Made it worse. Now he added to his rants that he had been sent threats and abuse. This guy...
Enter Mike1inFive, a small record label owner that decided Kiffie was correct to rant about me and that I was obviously in the wrong, the parody music on soundcloud (which I deleted after like 4 days) was too on the nose, I was an evil bully boy.
Mike decided he would aid Kiffie by making up lies about me stealing money from charity. He retracted this lie, as soon as I showed him proof and did a little weasel like sorry, before eventually pissing off and calling me autistic for no reason, and joining in on random threads accusing me of random shit he decided had to be me. He also said he had my personal details, including my address.
He said I was paranoid about Kiffie going after me and then said that he was emailed with my full name and address so I asked him what my address was and my full name... What the actual fuck was happening here...? Apparently it was all my drama, I was the problem. Now I will admit that while Mike was backing up Kiffie's insane rants I did criticise Mikes shitty music awards, that was my response, Mike ran some sort of music community of rather shoddy musicians on Twitter and they all gave one another pats on the back and called each other award winning artists in their profiles, lovely stuff. I don't regret criticising his shit award thing, honestly these people are filth after all they spewed about me, and I was right, shoddy awards, shoddy record label minus a couple of artists and really totally stupid idiots in the Kiffie circles.
Eventually... Would you believe it, we actually came to an agreement, common ground. Even Mike admitted Kiffie has a massive ego, he said sorry for baiting me into a conversation with him and going around telling people lies about my charity work, which I was still annoyed about, because it's a fucking criminal accusation he just casually spewed out to his 16k followers... I reluctantly said sorry for criticising his shitty award thing, which is total piss by the way, I retract the sorry, load of wank those awards. Mike and Kiffie had also been telling radio show hosts not to play my music, weirdly Mike refused to apologise on that matter, but I thought fuck it, let it go... Maybe we can sort this all out and move on... Then he tried to pin everything on the Art Block guy who sent me the first screenshot telling me Kiffie was asking people to report my account for nothing...
I'm going to have to turn this into a 4 part thing...
But anyway, so far, we are still on the first year of the Bullyshit Kiffie drama, I'm going to have to fly through the next year, there's so much of this stuff...
Right so, Kiffie and Mike apparently had my address, that was pretty wild. I decided to find their info out, I mean I'm going to do everything I can to protect myself from these weird bastards, it wasn't very hard. All their info was in the public domain, Kiffies family home address and phone numbers were just out there on the internet connected to a folk band his parents had, which I thought was really stupid, I'm nice enough that without revealing any of this information I informed him to fix that. Instead he went about saying I was threatening his elderly parents, why on Earth would I do that, haven't they suffered enough with the Almighty Kiffie as their son? Give them a break, I've no interest in threatening anyone. You tell a guy you've got all his personal details, what do you want, I did some basic digging. 192.com lists Kiffies info, it's not illegal to do research online, especially when you're considering reporting people to the authorities for harassment, stalking and other madness, like making up criminal accusations, such as threats to the welfare of elderly people and charity fraud... Pretty serious things to be throwing around Kiffie gang...
In part 3 I'll show you how I talked this out with Kiffie himself, how I reached out to the guy and tried to stop it all, and how he ignored me and went back to randomly ranting about me, until I had to report him to the police.
Stay tuned!

𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 // Suguru Niragi
Warnings - Swearing, mentions of blood. Implied violence, mentions of bullying. The reader kinda has a savior complex.
word count - 3k
Italics + bold in the beginning is a flashback. Anything beyond the keep reading sign is present tense.
Also this was a first attempt, it’s somewhat what I could come up with at the moment, I was having mixed feelings towards Niragi because of the controversy surrounding his character and fan fictions but he is a fictional character, I’ll leave it at that.
“Leave him alone”
You screamed bloody murder, watching as tears cascaded down his dewy cheeks running down towards his blood coated collar, baring the harsh texture of a softball plumbing against his broken nose. You witnessed his pleas and the pitiful cries he broke into for someone to help him, it was heart-wrenching.
Your voice broke their trance of hatred towards the poor boy, making you their focus of humour. The boy who seemed a year or two older than yourself coughed taking advantage of the situation to relish his tears onto the floor whilst grasping his stomach in pain. A moment so awful could only bring entertainment for the crowd.
“Or what princess, are you gonna beat me up for it?” he scoffed, pointing towards Niragi grimly. His lips slithering into a deceitful grin and you swore, a glint of evil was shining behind his cowardly eyes.
You clenched your fist tightly feeling the silver rings bare against your cold hands, this seemed to amuse the group of them as a harmonious wave of laughter flooded beneath the bridge “How cute, a feeble thing like you challenging me? just like a little red riding hood” he muttered, his large feet padded across the cement, advancing towards your figure.
You felt your heart race in anticipation swiping a quick look towards the harmless boy shaking on the floor, angering you to your core. Like the swindling wind, your mind was running in chaos, calculating his every step with a cold glare strung to his eyes. You could almost feel your own body shaking but not in fear, no. In rage.
“Look at her, she’s afraid of you” one interrupted with a grin, simply ignored his assumption with a raised brow. You were somewhat tall but he still stalked over you like a tree. Rooting your feet into the ground, you spoke “I’m not afraid of you, or any of you for that matter. I’m afraid of what will happen if you touch him one more time and trust me, I won’t be the one shaking in fear, that’s a promise. So go ahead, keep calling me princess, I dare you” your threat was taken lightly although the fear was evident in a few of their eyes once they witnessed the honesty in your eyes.
A promising advance.
“You're funny, isn’t she funny? How about we make a joke out of you?” He threatened baring his teeth at you.
Your neck craned to meet his eyes, daring him to do as he pleased. One of his members gripped his hand in an attempt to pull him away “just let it go, we can get him next time”
But he didn’t budge, ripping his friend's hand out of his own and raising it mighty in the air with a subtle hope of destruction lingering between his finger tips. He snarled out his reply “No, I’ll show her what you get when you don’t mind your own business”
You laughed, mocking his accusation, pushing him towards his wits end “That’s it you bitch”
His hand came crashing down only stopping once you caught his wrist, twisting it around behind his back so he could squirm in pain. The others with slight moral decency, cowered in surprise, backing away from their beloved.
“You like that, huh?” You laughed, now it was your turn to become the heartless monster they awfully played “Does it feel nice being thrown around” you mocked him once more, kicking him into the floor with a nice swing of your boot covered foot, harshly connecting with his stomach so he pummeled in absolute pain.
“Your pathetic, the whole lot of you”
You rested your leg against his soon to be bruised stomach, glaring at everyone of them “Get out of here, before the same happens to you” your tone was stern and clear, sending them a threatening message they received. Although some hesitated but followed like little sheep in a herd, you bent down to their leaders face gripping strands of his hair and pulling his face to meet yours.
“Run along little lamb, watch your herd follow you”
You made sure they were out of sight before you came back to the realization of the poor boy lying in his own puddle of tears and blood, advancing towards him in a state of worry, you bent down in front of him, arms to your sides in hopes he would understand you were no threat to him. He lifted his head slightly, his left eye of his frames was cracked and his other eye was forming a purplish bruise, you would have done a lot more than that if only you had the time.
“Hey, it’s okay. I’m not gonna hurt you” you whispered softly grasping his attention, beneath his dampened strands he peaked up, a murmur of pain could be heard and beneath his hisses he gradually spoke “Th-thank you”
“It’s fine, what they did was terrible. I hope you realise that you don’t deserve that” he had no strength to smile and only nod in understanding and suddenly it dawned on you. You had bandages and wipes in your bag, hanging out with a group such as yours you always had to be aware of any bruise and injury, what came with the mix of people you had was prone to wounds and you always came prepared for tragic things.
“I’ll be back” you spoke, standing up with a slight buckle in your knees and the pulsating pain in your fists, you so effortlessly ignored the more wounded. You gripped the straps, throwing it around your forearm and running back to him. You pulled out the bandages and the alcoholic wipes as you tapped his shoulder so he could look up from his dissociation.
“Do you mind?” you asked carefully, tipping your head towards his open wound on his cheek.
He looked at you, knitting his brows in thought. Processing what you said as he weighed out the idea that you were in fact being kind, he nodded looking into your eyes as you almost crumbled at the sight. The pain and hurt hidden behind those doe eyes was painful, you could almost hear the pleas again and you couldn’t bear the thought of that ever happening to you again, so you touched up his cuts with a hiss here and there until he spoke.
“Niragi…...my name is Suguru Niragi”
Your eyes were blindfolded, fear seeping through your clothes, you didn’t know how you got here only to the point where you suddenly couldn’t breathe, you clawed against the callous fingers wrapped tightly around your neck until you couldn’t anymore.
“How long has she been here?” You heard piquing your interest, your head tipped in surprise hearing multiple voices jump to their question.
You had accepted your fate of death multiple times before this one but something told you to continue, to persevere past your inability to continue. So you did, in an attempt to relish your curiosity and fear, you spoke “Where am I??” silence was your given reply, amongst the void of people you weren’t aware surrounded you, a stern voice spoke with demand “We don’t treat future members like this, take her blindfold off”
The void you’d been getting used to was finally ripped from your sight and you could suddenly feel the warmth of sun melting into your frozen complex, just as much as you could feel, you also saw. It was unlikely to enjoy such small things like this but in a world of torture, not even people could bring you peace, not anymore at least.
“She seems tattered, this wasn’t our doing wa-” before he could finish his sentence, someone interrupted
“it’s you?”
A voice you could recognise anywhere spoke with excitement, his laugh echoing through the room as it bounced off the walls, that didn’t sound like him. That sounded like someone who loved to live in an immoral world chasing sheep after sheep, until you fall into a pit never to come out again.
“How wonderful! I see you two seem well acquainted. I don’t suppose it was from the games?” Niragi shook his head with a grin, he seemed relieved to see you but you couldn’t say the same. You could tell by his appearance he seemed less empathetic, he had just as much reason too but it seemed edging.
His piercings added to his already threatening look, somewhat seductive to the eye and appealing, far beyond his student years.
“Not at all hatter, me and y/n go way back, don’t we? My little red riding hood” he asked, finally staring into your stern orbs. You felt threatened, the gun leaning against his broad shoulders slid down his arms as he gripped into, pointing it towards your bitter face, his aim was reckless but it didn’t mean it still didn’t shake something in you, you flinched at the sight.
“Oho that seems to catch your attention, should I do it again?” He threatened lightly as he connected his intense gaze with your own, your lips lifted feeling a wave of bravery and keeping your face stern and fearless“I’ve known him since high-school” you spoke plainly masking the fear you hid behind your voice, he definitely wasn’t the warm boy you met that night, his fear nowhere to be seen as he reveled in his own power.
“Fascinating, how a game can bring even the furthest of acquaintances together” Hatter’s crazed dazed rested on you, his jaw clenched as if he suppressed the words he spoke although he spoke as if all the freedom in the world rested on his shoulders, unlike many. Hatter had a free spirit, you could tell by the clothing he wore and how he portrayed himself, although the creator had all the power he seemed unafraid of what was to come, like his own creator.
“What is this place?” You asked.
The hatter walked leisurely around your seat, taking his place behind you with a threatening glare venomously biting at him from Niragi, his soft hands placed against your bare shoulders, massaging them as if to make you seem well enough to become comfortable but once he felt your tensed shoulders, thrash in his palms, he took a moment to pause.
“Welcome, new comer. To the beach, the utopia, your own personal home of freedom” Once again, the hatters voice was lost in daze.
“The what?” you asked again, that seemed ridiculous.
“The beach, A home I created, a home for those of us to feel our freedom, to bask in it’s warmth. No rules, no governed led law, just three absolute rules that every member of the beach must follow” The hatter rested a palm on your shoulder using it as a stool for his posture.
Amongst his rant, you mellowed out his words. Losing your train of thought in Niragi’s eyes, so much discomfort rested in your own he could almost feel the anger seeping from your bones, angered due to the unruly sense of it all. You either lived or died, a way out was always on your mind but the only thing that kept you running was living, making sure that when the moment came, you would still be here to leave.
Niragi, along with his powerful facade basked in its potential and he made it known to the world with his appearance, the way his voice pitched higher as he stared at your pitiful state, the enjoyment flooding his mouth with a taunting expression, you didn’t notice who that was, who he became but you knew better, deep down. He was still Niragi, the one you saved and comforted, the one who brought you food when you were so deep in school work you couldn’t bear the thought of switching positions, not even for your well-being.
You were brought back to the world when the touch of a cold barrel met your temples, a loud click followed soon after.
“You're really starting to piss me off, little red riding hood. Do you think we’re dumb, you look at the hatter like he’s an idiot, why would you do that to your saviour” Niragi spoke tauntingly, daring you to cross those barriers you put in place for your own protection, he’s seen you angered once, he’ll see it again.
“Do it” you proclaimed with a straight face, your voice calm as a tideless sea. Niragi scoffed, the corners of his mouth stretching widely and increasingly slow, too slow for your liking. He searched your eyes for fear, wanting the succulent delight of seeing your despair.
“Or are you scared? I know fear isn’t unknown to you” You hissed back at him, your venomous fangs digging deep into his caged memory, withstood by his own barriers. He locked those memories and threw that key into a bottomless pit but despite that, it was almost like you stood, knocking against the safe he locked his pitiful self in and he was holding the knob with shaking hands, you were resurfacing the past and he vowed to only ever live in the present.
His fingers lingered against the trigger, feeling the power of his hands against the weapon. He was a god in his own eyes but before him rested something more valuable, something he cherished in a past life. He couldn't do it and the hatter noticed this, speculation threw him in and he watched as Niragi pulled the gun away from your head, pointing it towards the roof and letting his pale fingers press the trigger with an anomaly of amusement.
The power shot from his weapon, creating cracks in the roof as the crumbs of his doing fell in front of your eyes and you released a small breath in relief.
"untie her, she's going to be with me from now on-wards" Niragi demanded, he was bearing a threat towards the hatters authority.
Hatter smiled in delight, worry never once tipped his harsh features but you couldn't speak for the others, who not once faltered at your treatment, now seemed worried for your entire being.
“Do as he says, he clearly knows our fellow members. Therefore, he should do the honors” Hatter demanded, he had a clear distinction for his choice of clothing, making it apparent that his name bore a meaning. Colorful expression distorting his position with his other executive members, freedom per se or maybe it was merely just a coincidence.
Your thrashing was unnoticed in his lock, he ripped you from your place roughly as if you had no meaning to him and it was probably true. Niragi hoisted his machine to the nape of his neck, tugging you in the other hand with what he demanded.
He couldn’t believe his eyes the moment he laid his on yours, it wasn’t often that he met people he once knew without shooting them right where they thought. Ruthless, the capacity for violence he had was uncanny but not unseen for his peers, they knew not of his past and he kept it that way, his psychotic doings sparked a mutual fear within those weaker than him and that was plenty.
“You stick with me or by me from now on, you leave my side for any apparent reason and you're dead, anything you’ve done. I’ve done worse, so I don’t think you want to play with me” in contrast to his previous behavior, he now was in a craze of success. You clenched his hand in an attempt to make him whine in pain just enough for you to run but he surprised you, locking your hand in a harsh grasp that made you bite your lip in pain.
“You should have just killed me when you got the chance, it’s not like you're the same anymore. You’ve changed” You mumbled, ceasing a breath. You relaxed your body and let him lead your way, it’s not like you feared him. As someone you once knew, you often reminded yourself in the moment that he didn’t harm a fly, that was no excuse for him now but in order to keep your sanity at bay, you did just that.
“Why would I do that when I could have fun with you instead?” He laughed.
“As if I would give you the chance too” you retorted.
His steps halted, as he stared forward with a grin. He liked the challenge in your tone, if it was anything. Niragi never once let a challenge get the best of him, he meant what he said and he would make sure more than once that he would get his way.
“Is that a challenge?” he asked, delightfully. Once a friend turned stranger, you stared at the back of his tied hair, the strands falling against his shoulder blades until you caught the sway of his head leisurely turning to face you with a snake like glint in his eyes, the horror of the unknown was creeping up your spine but you weren’t going to back down like a coward, you never did and that wont start today.
“I could warp you into my little pet, do you like being called a pet my little red riding hood. Whatever version of myself was projected onto you, you can forget because the one you're witnessing shares no mercy, not even for you. So thrash and whine as much as you like” Niragi began taking small steps towards you, you backed away in fear still grimly leaving the distaste for his actions lingering on your lips as you threw a look of utter disgust his way.
You managed to walk safely, feeling the brief tender touch of an untouched wall hit your frame, watching him tower over you “Because no one will help you, in fact, I have full control over you, I own you” You scoffed, looking away for a short lived moment before you felt his slender fingers grasp your chin harshly, forcing the contact between you two.
“You must feel so big right now. So utterly powerful, your need to pick on the weaker isn’t a new concept to you, right? In fact it should be so deeply engraved in your brain that not even a rock to the head could erase that, I see. Warp me all you want but I’ll always know you for who you were, my best friend” The words that left your tongue were hot, burning your throat as you held back tears from the countless memories.
“That’s bullshit, your best friend? That was my need for repayment, that person is long gone now” He screamed, but his face didn’t gleam in despair, no. It shone in glee. The fight was racking up all his pent up anger and he was more than happy to dump it on anyone near, that so happened to be you.
“Why? Why do you do this. You wouldn’t even harm a fly, the Niragi I knew was soft and caring, he hated violence” you almost screamed, baring your teeth at Niragi, the shine of the dagger he held didn’t even surprise you, his grasp of it against your neck was so close that even the tiniest gulp would have blood seeping from your throat.
“He died, a long time ago” his voice was now emotionless, you could see the shine leaving his face as he reminisced. His stoic features returned but his hold tightened, he grasped both of your hands, casually but sharply holding both above your head with his knife in the other, his body inched close to yours and you felt the texture of his clothing against your body.
“I don’t want to hear you bitching about how you miss what we had, that’s nothing now. You're nothing now, you're not special to me. Just someone I refuse to let go, you know that old saying? Snitches get stitches? Well if you tell anyone about how we met, what I went through, they won’t have any part of their body to stitch back together”

𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒: pregnancy, mentions of miscarriage & abusive relationships , cheating , manipulation , violence

////////////////June 7th 2020\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Every story has a happy ending , where the villain gets defeated and the heroes win , but in eden , no one could recognize the corruption and the decent. Everyone hid their darkest and filthiest desires deep down inside them , in their abyss of their souls . Andy knew that , from first hand . He was still getting to know the place , the idle juveniles laying in the sandy beaches , the laughs of the middle aged men echoing through the thickness of the trees’ leaves . A literal paradise ... with no God .
Dolan had promised his wife to keep her safe, and eventually after his decadence , he was more fazed than anything . Their inseparable form could be made out from kilometers ago, their vivid and full of life auras leaving hints of sunshine from time to time . Winning the couple of the year and being stunned was not in their plans but the did not dodge it . Until Dolan started venturing at inexcusable bars , reciprocal pink lipstick decorating one side of his neck while he reclined next to his bond , mumbling about his ambiguous accomplishments. He had her to the point , Mariah felt overwhelmed. The weight of his nifty assets , the gravitas of his clumsy , yet anticipated acts made her scream and wince .
But Mariah David Dolan , did not intend on giving up so easily , only because her husband was demonstrating his incompetent self . Haphazardly, or not , the female found herself at Sherlock’s , who fasty evaluated and corrupted all of her nasty problems . Taken the right measurements, Mariah decided to treat themselves to a dinner , the brunette averting his gaze back from his laptop to his wife. “Did something happen ?” Mariah never cooked , even at special , “crowded” occasions , she wouldn’t lay a finger at the metallic kitchenware . “No . I just though about all the work you’re recently hooked with. A nice dinner with your wife would help you blow off some steam” smirking at the fit of the last words, she left Dolan alone, drowning in his intellectually safe thoughts.
The capriciousness of the vexing atmosphere made the couple exchange some absurd looks. With Andy being the always tired one, sexual intercourse was lost long ago . “Something you would like to say ?” “No .” She went for a debate , any sort of the key for relationships , communication. If that clink unraveled , there would be no sweet salvation for the married couple . “Well , I want to say something.” Andy whispered a silent “go on” as one of their housekeepers wiped off him some of the pasta’s sauce . “I’m pregnant .” the brunette almost choked at the hear , she couldn’t be . “What ?” voice so small , the trait of vulnerability showing .
The fraction made his stomach toss and turn with anticipation, his dreams for the unknown slowly falling apart . “I’m pregnant on the 3rd month .” eyes infested with fury , the blue like sea color dissipated. “And when were you planning on telling me , hm ? When the waters would broke ? Or when the bump would start to show ? Or when you couldn’t fucking miscarriage?” his excessive, painful words ventured to withhold her insurmountable fury . Unceremoniously, his unbeatable character almost took back his sharp words , the marvel Mariah always waited for could intervene their scold and corrupt his grudge . Albeit she had cried and prayed for that baby to come , her husband didn’t yearn it .
“Did you talk to the gynecologist? Can you ?” he stated chastely , reclining his tensed back to the chair . Who could envision Andy Dolan with a child ? The reluctance became vexing , the tension had to be dwindled if she wanted to keep that inexcusable -for him- child . “Yes . We ... discussed and he said that I cannot ... get rid of it .” her unconvincingly words passed from the one ear to the other . He abruptly threw his crystal glass at the respective wall , agitating the woman to run to clean the mess . The hot , ambiguous tears wetting her cheeks . “Cant you just love me ?” she mumbled , her fasty movements elicited a cut from the sharp glass . She hissed at the pain , she wanted to resemble the perfect , sincere , housewife Andy pleased . To conquer the theme , so as to stand next to him with all her lucid pride while clutching his right hand .
And the things became even worse , chaos consuming the island , darkness drowning the residents . But the worst was Andy’s behavior shift . The unintelligible man faltered and his intriguing about his serene family faded , woefully leaving only his malice and possession . Fighting with his own demons , his rigid and virile facade came and ended up resented . The 24-hour absence of the paternal figure made the child cope with egregious insults and quarrels . Curling up in her little bed , her hands covering the ears as not to listen his beloved parents . Was her the reason they fought every night ? And as the family withered , Andy prepared to hit with sweet and sour vengeance .
“Please ...” the woman begged , the tears blocking her already blurry vision . Fatigue in her system degenerating, she tried to refrain this , but Dolan’s wrath could not be avoided . “Please what , hm ? You had a fucking debt ! Look after that damned child . And I swear to god Mariah ^ if something had happened to my daughter!” he scolded . “Oh come on ! Stop acting like you care ! You never did ... you never cared about your family .” His intimidating methods would usually work , and if not he would try for the vicious skin-to-skin contact . Slapping her and looking her terribly weak silhouette, squirming and crying under him . She remained frigid , not wanting to get that answer , Mariah ran to the basement , advancing around the marble halls like a lost puppy . Andy rubbed his stressed temple , waiting for his own kind of wonder to come and take him from this type of hell . The paradise where demons are hidden .
Andy never wanted to become one of them. That vicious, hungry, creatures . Demons . The olds said that if somebody approached the North river he would see a little red creature . A graceful , gorgeous demon . That was bullshit , demons didn't exist , his friend Michael had told him , that poor man - he had taken the subject of claiming to be the Antichrist of the end times too thick . He ended up at an asylum - good man , sick brain . “What are you thinking ?” . God , or whoever , heard him sent him his guardian angel . The nifty woman was everything he wished for . A real living angel . And that chaste, naive flirt shifted into this; whatever that was.
“Nothing to be honest . But let’s not talk about me , hmmm ?” the girl nodded heartily . Y/N had found her person , the one she could trust and never receive betrayal , the one she could cry at and talk about her insurmountable problems . Their meeting was casual - one , two drinks exchanged , some additional winks and the saccharine act of sex to help Y/N realize her feelings. When she was with him , the blithe and sybarite feeling would bloom inside her , becoming as beautiful as a sanguine rose . She chuckled at his works , could describe him as selfless ? No . But to her ... yes . Her despondent self hid his abusive and possessive persona . For her eyes and only , Andy Dolan was a god , innocent and perfect . “I wanted to ask about ... the divorce ? When are you two signing it ?” he had to be astute and answer handily . But they answer was always the same “Oh sweetheart, don’t worry . Mariah is a bit pertinacious but I’ll persuade her , okay ?” and she would fall at the trap , again .
“You’re always answering the same !” maybe today she would revolt and fortunately leave the poisonous love of Andy’s . His eyes shone dangerously, he didn’t want to do this . “Y/N’s not like Mariah” he would remind himself , but the poor girl was sticking her nose almost everywhere . “Aren’t you pleased , hm ? I took you from that fucking clinic , I helped you withdraw and this is your thank you ? I’m disappointed in you , Y/N .” his esoteric character on sight again . His cogent and invidious words caused the sentient girl spill the salty water . The male disdaining to help or comfort . “You deserve this anyway .” she stumbled back , her apprehension increasing whilst seeing him standing up from the bed . That absurdity had to stop , but he had saved her and it was her time now .
As Andy returned home , and the futile try to persuade his wife about the divorce exhausted him , he found himself at his daughter’s room . Observing her sincere and innocent moves . “Daddy ?” “Yes , Baby ?” his far-fetched sweet talk made the two smile in sync . The blonde’s smile making daddy crack . “Can I tell you something?” Andy nodded , hoping the child wouldn’t have read any of his recreational messages . “Mommy told me the reason she doesn’t want you two to break up !” his eyes lit up at her appendix . Perhaps it was the money or the child but anyway - Andy had to know . “What’s that ?” patting his lap for the girl to sit , Hera made herself comfortable at the warmth of his legs . “She said that she won’t let you fool around with every individual who has two holess.” “She said what ?!?!” “Yes , yes but what did she mean when she said “every individual with two holes .” ?” “Not now , Hera .” he quickly placed the kid down , as she sulked at her daddy’s extraordinary behavior.
By the time Andy stated the predicament , Mariah had ruminated on her terms . She should have said this , fuck she really shouldn’t . Her dull and attention-seeking words pushed her husband’s last buttons . “Are you fucking braindead ? What was that you said to my daughter ?!” she knew where that debate would end up . Condescendingly , she wrapped her arms around his neck . Her touch-starved grating amusing his carnal urges . Not wanting to dwell on the situation , Andy let it happen . Her amorous posture , the well-med hair , how didn’t he feel it coming ? Her hands traveling at his shirt’s buttons while Andy’s fingers went for her top . Discarded clothing were soon decorating the floor of their kitchen . His greed for more would eat him up one day . And he waited - patiently and calmly for that day . Her tenuous dominance caused waking up his boredom. But his prurient mind , thought otherwise.
She licked his upper lip , Andy letting her tongue slip into his mouth . The sloppy kiss turning into something more passionate, more loving . “I’ve missed this .” she mumbled in between breaths , making a smirk plaster on Dolan’s face . “I’ve missed you .” he hushed her by kissing her , the loving , lingering kiss making butterflies fly in her stomach . “Andy ?” he groaned at the call , not wanting to eye roll , he approved the question and motivated to go on . “Do you love me ?” “Yes. Only you . And no one else . I know things are hard right now but I’ll make it up to you.”
Bare bodies tangled . Two bodies in one . His hips snapped viciously at hers , hand grabbing a harmful fist of hair . Abruptly pulling it back , making Mariah hiss at the sudden contact of pain . The persona she would only see , not even Y/N , the sadistic one . Her head touching his sweaty torso , the tears in her eyes strengthening his stamina . The coil in her stomach tightened and as the loved noticed it - his hands traveled between her puffy lips , toying with her little bud . “I’m .... im-” her muffled cries interrupting her . “I know baby . Cum , cum with me .” and the coil in her belly broke synchronized with his . The addicting feeling of euphoria engulfing them both . “You did so well .” his sugary words causing her pride to rise , awaking her love for him . Just like the old times . “I love you , Mariah .” she perched at his tight embrace , inhaling his intoxicating scent . “Mhm me too .” she had to savor the moment . Mariah didn’t know what could possibly find her tomorrow .
////////////////
And as Andy distanced himself from Y/N, he kept his promise and made up the tangle. At least everything that could be fixed . The insuperable bond they created was ineffable. The somnolent love , almost dead , rose back from the dead . His pernicious and arcane self opened at his therapist . The Dolans couldn’t be happier . Apathy no longer lived between them . No invidious implication wafting around the tensed atmosphere. Just some more scarce , anticipated details and Dolan would finally fall into blithely.
Andy planted the usual good morning kiss on his wife . Excusing himself for his aimless absence on lunch and venturing to the car . The fraction of 2 to months without seeing Y/N, made him tacit. Where was the power Dolan’s hold ? He couldn’t falter, not now. He would withhold and keep things conservative. His conscience screamed no , but he shut it off , not wanting to trust his instincts . Choosing the obliviousness.
Approaching her modern like house , the cars of topical police confused his comprehension. Incompetent to walk inside , albeit he promised not to care - a part which was got circumvented - some of his worry remained to Y/N . “Officer , is she okay ?” the concern in his eyes made the blue - dressed man doubt his accusation . “Sir , are you Mr.Dolan ?” the man let his white scribbling block down , paying full attention to the brunette . “In the flesh .” two more patrols approaching, no feeling of timidity in their eyes . His envision had to be mendacious . A prosaic one , more realistic. “Andy Dolan you are arrested for the murder of Y/N Y/L/N” his conception blurred, everything changing into automatic. His eyes caught the figure of his wife talking to another police man - she wouldn’t? Would she ?
Everything happened so quickly, the metal handcuffs were clutched onto his hand, the ignominious state making him sentient. He would go to prison and there was no denial in that . At least he would leave Eden .
/////////////// Now \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
He had learnt the news . Mariah was in all this . She had been informed about Andy’s illegal affair , not only with women but with drugs , too . On the one side, she had managed to plan her husband’s perfect suicide but the contradiction she received made her tentative. Therefore she visited the professionals . Sherlock’s beneficial - for both Mariah and him- and handily trap got Dolan arrested . They had planned everything, even the littlest detail . The plan was easy , yet complicated.
He would wake up at 7:15 a.m. as always . Head to the kitchen to make his morning coffee , catch up with Mariah who would accidentally leave the house . His phone would remind him about his last meeting with Y/N , where she would end up thing with him . Or what Mariah had decided to do for her . Y/N had left the island months ago when Mrs.Dolan appeared in her house and threatened to kill her and her soon-to-be-born child. As Andy would drive his way , Sherlock would leave his fingerprint everywhere , placing them carefully at the edges of the gun . Next step would be Y/N’s doppelgänger, nice and murdered next to the white rug .
-
The unbearable route of the dull prison . The thousand of men behind the metal bars , hungry for every kind of fight and sexual intercourse nettled his every atom . Compelling himself not to communicate with anyone , Andy , who had received a life imprisonment lost and the last bit of faith . There was no salvation for him , it never existed . “You have a letter .” the word taking him out of his dwelling thoughts. His family never sent him letters , not that they were coming . Drugs were forbidden, or that was the law applied . “Sender ?” “Unknown .” Andy wasn’t in the mood for playing games . This almost one years in prison erased all of his lenient future. Additionally, alleviating his last mendacious fantasies about life .
Taking the rigid piece of paper , the handwriting of a woman caught his attention . Refraining himself from toring it apart and throwing it to the trash can , he want for abstinence. Cutting the edges with a small knife which used to hide right down his pillow , the form a photo fall on the floor . Inhaling a piece of pure reluctance , Andy took the shiny piece of paper between his hands . The silhouettes of two girls laughing at each other quirked his eye brow . But her ineffable and disheveled beauty stopped his breath . A baby adjoining her side , made him caught the implication . The transparent eligibility to join this family causing him to incandescent. That was his child and his Y/N .
Last thing , eyes traveling at the bottom of the photo

Chapter 36 - Running away is easy, Its the leaving that's hard
It had almost been two weeks since you last saw Connor and Collin. It had been tough, to say the least, you missed them like crazy. You would constantly check your phone for messages that would never come. Perhaps it didn’t take them long at all to forget about you. You couldn’t let yourself get too upset about it though, this was your decision. Maybe it was easier for them to keep their distance. It would probably work out better this way in the end.
Danny was right when he said that life in the settlement wasn't going to be glamorous, it was hard work, something you weren’t used to, coming from living cushy in a penthouse. You mostly helped out with farming the land and tending to the chickens, feeding them, cleaning out their coop, collecting eggs, etc. You also got stuck with the job of babysitting some kids from time to time. It was good to keep busy though, to keep your mind away from androids.
When you had free time, you spent it mostly with Emily, catching up, attempting to look after her, although insisted she didn’t need the fuss.
You had been staying in Emily’s shack, it was just you her and her cat Pepper, but you made a good little family. You wondered whatever happened to the father of Emily’s child, she didn’t want to talk about him too much, whoever he was. She’d just say he was away.
You didn’t want to push her but your overbearing curiosity would not sit at peace. Some other ladies around the settlement had told you he had been taken by androids.
What Emily did tell you about the child’s father was that his name was James and he was the one that saved her from the adoption centre. Well, he’d been one of the humans in the midst of the one of the riots in the city who also happened to help some of the humans escape the centre.
“Took down two androids right in front of my eyes, that how I knew he was the one.” She laughed.
“He took down two androids? On his own?” You spluttered out, not believing her.
“Yeah, with one of these,” Emily smirked handing you over a baton.
Taking it in your hand you examine it, slightly confused until you see a button near the bottom. “Is this one of the electric ones the cops use?”
“Yep, can take out an android with a few quick buzzes.” She points her chin at you and smiles. “That’s my man, always got the good weapons.”
“I’m quite surprised you settled on a man honestly.” You smirked, “Last time I saw you, you were giving puppy dog eyes to Olivia.” You cock your head to the side, raising your eyebrows.
“Yeah, I did have a thing for her, until she got adopted and you know. Kinda couldn’t see her anymore.”
“Liv got adopted?”
“Yeah.” Emily shrugged plainly and looked away.
“I’m sorry Emily.” You reach out your hand to touch hers.
“Why are you sorry?” She shakes her head, pulling her hand away from yours to rest on her baby bump.
“It just must have been lonely for you, without me and Liv.” You bite at the broken skin on your bottom lip.
“Yeah it was a bit, but then I met James.” She smiled a little but it faded fast. “He’ll come back you know.” She said quickly, more telling it as a way to convince herself, rather than you.
You nod back to her, not wanting to hurt your friend. “Of course Emily.”
Her hand wipes at her eye a little. “Best be getting to bed.” She stands to her feet. “You should as well” she smiles placing her hand on your shoulder.
“That’s probably a good idea.” You nod. “Big day tomorrow.”
___
You woke to the sun shining through the thin material of your makeshift curtain, with a rub of your eyes and a quick stretch you were up to start your day. Making breakfast for yourself and Emily was first on the list and then feeding Emily’s cat Pepper was second. The next few hours would be spent outside on the farm tending to some of the plants and vegetables, you would do this until lunchtime when you would have a quick bite to eat and then on to the ‘town’ meeting, a quick impromptu one that had been called by Danny.
They had received word from another settlement, one not too far from them that they would aid them in their next city raid.
“City raid?” You whispered to Emily, not understanding what he had meant.
“Yeah, we’d been planning this one for a while.” She whispers back quickly. “It’s how we get more weapons, people, stuff like that.”
“Does Connor know you guys have been doing this?” You ask.
“No. but he doesn’t need to know.” She shrugs. “We send our doughboys out with masks anyway.”
“Doughboys?” You asked even more confused than before.
“Yeah, our fighters.” She snaps as she furrows her brows. “Don’t you listen?” realising how quick she was with you she apologises “Sorry, I forgot that you’re still new around here. We call our ‘recruits’” she says with parenthesis. “Doughboys, and they get shit done. I was one before, well before y’know.” She rubs her bump.
“Never pegged you as a fighter.”
“Well, I guess there’s a lot you don’t know about me then.” She laughs.
“Ladies,” Danny calls Emily and your attention back to him.
“This time it’s going to be the big one.” Danny looks around at everyone’s faces. “There are people from other settlements in the city as we speak. It’s almost our time to join them. Three days. Three more days!” His weathered hand hits the table he was standing in front of. “And we're getting our boys back.”
You notice Emily nod to Danny, her lip wobbles as she turns to you.
“James.” she half-smiles half whimpers as her hand grabs yours.
You give her hand a tight squeeze and whisper a silent prayer that they will indeed find him alive and well.
As the day goes on most of the camp seems in a mixture of excitement and fear about the upcoming raid.
The ‘Doughboys’ as Emily called them, coordinating their plan of attack, parents ensuring their children that everything will work out, farmers, bakers, and medics in a tizzy to prepare the needed supplies.
As the evening settles in you begin to worry for Emily, what if they can’t find James? what if he’s not even alive?
Poor Emily has been through so much. She doesn’t deserve any more grief.
A part of you wants to tell her to not get her hopes up but saying that would be cruel. You just nod along and try to keep her comfortable. After dinner Emily ends up falling asleep on the recliner chair she had been sitting on. As you wrap a blanket over her shoulders you realise that you're almost out of firewood and the fire its self is beginning to dwindle down.
Grabbing one of Emily’s cloaks from a hanger, you drape it over your shoulders before heading out on your quest to seek out more wood.
Wooden logs were usually kept in an area just west of the settlement, it was a little walk through the trees but not too far. You usually preferred going out when it was brighter. The light from your phone only made the place look creepier. The quietness of the area didn’t help either, if it wasn’t for the noises made by nearby animals the place would be downright eerie. At least you could still see the warm glow of the settlement in the distance through the trees.
You knelt down on dry dirt to pick up some of the logs from the bottom of the pile to put in the wicker basket that you had brought with you. After you make your selection you stand back to your feet and dust off the dirt of your clothes. Just as you are about to reach down for your basket again you are abruptly stopped by a large hand being placed over your mouth as well as an arm wrapping around your front holding both your arms in place so that you cannot struggle from the grasp. You try to wrestle your way out of the grasp in a fit of fear but a familiar voice sends you into shock.
“Please calm down.”
Is that?
Your body is frozen.
“I only grabbed you like this in case you screamed. Sorry, it was a bit abrupt, I know.”
Your heart begins to thump harder in your chest but this time not from fear.
“When I let go, please don’t scream.” The voice pleads.
You manage to nod your head, still, in your state of shock, the hands and arm loosen from you and you try to steady yourself on your feet before turning around.
You take a deep breath as you slowly move on your feet towards the person whose grip you had just been in.
“Richard.” You exhale deeply.
His tongue wets his lip before he attempts to speak, however, you cut him off.
“What are you doing here!? If anyone sees you!” You shout in a whisper at him.
“Look, I know, I know.” He lifts his hands in defence. “I was just lucky that you happened to be out here so I didn't have to go in there.” He gestures his head towards the settlement.
“Don’t dare step foot in there.” Your eyes widen as if he’s gone mad.
“I won’t, I won’t… If you come back.”
“What? No.” You shake your head.
“No?”
“I can’t Richard. I belong here.”
“Y/N, Look at this place. It’s disgusting.” He shakes his head as he scans his eyes across the poorly put together ‘town’. “Surviving on scraps, like an animal. You have a nice home, come back.” He reaches out to hold your hands.
You lift your brows to look up at him, your mouth becoming straight as you shake your head and slowly pull your hands away.
“I can’t, I just can’t.” You pick your basket off the ground and turn to walk away from the android.
“I’ll give you anything!” He shouts out. You turn your head to him.
“I’ll do anything.” He moves towards you again. “Just say the word. Please.”
He reaches his hand towards yours once more, his other caressing your cheek.
“I’ll even help with the rebellion.” He whispers.
“The rebellion?” You look up at him, your face plagued with even more confusion.
“Whatever it is the humans are planning. I can help, I can be of use just, please come back.” He begs his forehead now resting against yours.
“Wha- I don't understand. Why?” You whisper to him, closing your eyes as you press your forehead back against his.
“Because I love you.”

Chapter 37 - Alrighty Aphrodite
You had entered the settlement on your own again. Going back to your shack, you had to explain the situation to Emily.
“If he can get James back.” She stopped for a minute to steady her breath. “Then I’m on board.”
After a quick hug and farewell, you had a bag packed and you were off.
“I’ll be back.” You said once more to Emily before leaving.
“I know.” She nods.
Richard had been waiting for you just outside the gateway, you had told him to wait there so he wouldn’t spook the residents.
“I can carry that” Richard insist, taking your bag from your hands, before you could say anything he had it thrown over his shoulder. You bite at your lips not really knowing what to say but walking through the forested area with him in silence.
“It’s not too far of a walk to the car,” He said. “I did try to park as close as I could.”
You just nod and continue to walk. After another while of insufferable silence, you finally speak up to him.
“So, is it true?” You turn towards the Android. “Do you really love me?”
His eyes fall to the ground for a moment as he continues on. “Yes.” He fell quiet again for a moment before continuing on. “I think I first began to realise when Collin got in that accident. You stayed with him.” He let out an artificial sigh. “I started to think about if something had happened to you and-” He shrugged.
“It took me a long time to come to grips with my feelings as you could probably tell. I never experience this type of emotion before.”
“Why didn’t you say anything?” You tilt your head attempting to make eye contact, his gaze still avoiding yours as he trudged forward.
“I was an idiot. A scared fool.”
“You are an idiot.” You stop for a minute causing Richard to stop as well, he moves closer to you, to see if you are alright. Taking him by surprise you lean up to press a kiss to his cheek. Richard hums for a second moving away slowly, he looks into your eyes before he tries to kiss your lips.
You however hold your hand out and say “I can't do that, I have boyfriends.” Before walking on.
“Yeah, ones that left you behind.” Richard sighs moving again to walk beside you.
“They did that to protect me.”
“Connor in his twisted reasoning. He probably did it more to protect himself. He is selfish. You have no idea what your leaving has done to Collin.” Richard grumbles.
“So you’re guilt-tripping me now?” You roll your eyes.
“I’m just saying.” Richard grunts, re-adjusting your bag against his back. “Why’d you not bring your suitcase?”
“This is just temporary.” You shrug.
“I see.”
“How’s Connor doing?” You change the subject before Richard tries to convince you to stay forever.
“He’s stressed about all of the attacks that have been happening in the city and he’s stressed because Collins current mental stability is not too fun. I think it would cheer him up to see you.”
“Yeah and he might murder you for bringing me.” You quip back.
“True. I guess we’ll just have to see.” He retorts as you notice Richard’s car parked in the distance. He did park quite close. Something Connor would also be pissed about.
“How did you find me anyway?” You ask the question that’s been on your mind since you first saw him.
“I’m afraid the truth of the matter might unsettle you a little.” He explains as his car beeps at his arrival.
“Go on.” You encourage him. “You can’t stop now.”
“I am one of the most advanced androids in existence.” He explains whilst throwing your bag in the back of his car. He then opens the passenger side door for you to get in. When you do he leans down to your ear to whisper, “I’m everywhere.” And with that, he closes the door.
You sit for a moment in contemplation as he gets into his side of the car to sit down. As he puts his seat belt on you turn to him with confusion on your face. “Did you hack my phone?”
Richard rolls his eyes as he starts up the car. “I was able to tap into the journey history of Connor's vehicle. I knew he was behind all of this.” He begins to explain as his own car sets out.
“When I got to the location of the factory I was able to scan for signs of nearby technology. Your settlement stood out like a beacon. Didn’t take too long for me to tap into some phones that were being used yes, and then I saw you.”
“Can other androids do all that?”
“Not a lot can. And definitely not to the extent that I can. As I say, I’m everywhere. Any piece of technology, I can tap into if I desire so.” Richard explains proudly.
“So, do you ever use it to spy on people?”
“Only if necessary.”
“You ever watch people naked?” You smirk a little.
Richard’s brows furrow as he blushes slightly. “No, I would not do that.”
You burst out in laughter at his defensiveness. “I’m just teasing.”
Richard adjusts his shirt collar in discomfort. “Indeed.” He replies dryly.
You smile and rest your head against the back of the seat.
“You know you can lie in the back if you want, it’s a long drive and you could do with some sleep.”
You swivel your seat around to look at the back seat, assessing it. Swapping your seat with your bag that had been put in the back and lay down on the cool leather.
“You don’t have any blankets do you?” You ask Richard as you attempt to find some level of comfort on the cold seat.
“No, sorry. I can turn the heat up if you like?”
“hmmpf.” You think for a minute. “Isn’t this car self-driving?”
“Yes,” Richard replies, not really sure at what you’re getting at.
“Why don’t you just put in the destination and then come back here and lie with me?”
His LED begins flashing red. “I think Connor would definitely try and kill me if we sleep with each other again.” Richard stammers.
“I wasn’t suggesting we have sex, oh my god!” You smack your hand over your mouth to not laugh.
Richard's face began to turn in cringe, “oh I just thought-”
“I meant so we could cuddle.” You explain, smirk still present on your face.
“Do you think Collin and Connor would be okay with that?”
“I think they’d be angrier if you let me get sick from the cold.” You tease.
“That is a fair point.” Richard raises a brow as he puts in the location for the car to self-drive. When he has it tapped in, he too swivels around in his seat to move to the back with you.
Richard is a little awkward at first as he clumsily shifted to lay down in the backseat with you, eventually pulling you into his chest. The thrum of his thirium pump makes you grin in triumph as he settles his head to rest on top of yours. Richard then changes his body temperature to a comfortable setting so that he could be your personal radiator for the next few hours.
Was this weird? Absolutely. Was this wrong? Maybe. Was this comfortable? YES.
But you allowed yourself the brief comfort of being in Richard's arms, even if it was just for this one night. Maybe you felt like you deserved it, you were entitled to some amount of comfort after all the crap you’ve been through.
A part of you was angry and Collin and Connor for not reaching out, even to send a measly little text message. Your more rational mind told you to drop it, something might have come up, you didn’t know the full story, and maybe it was too hard for them. Although that didn’t stop it from stinging your ego any less.
You managed to drift off to sleep rather quickly, that was one of the benefits from all the hard work you had been up to at the settlement, sleep found you a whole lot quicker. Richard had stayed beside you for the majority of the journey as well, cherishing the feeling of having you in his arms once again. Deciding to himself to never be without this feeling anymore. His face snuck its way between your neck and collar bone to take in your scent and to delicately place his lips against your skin just for a sweet moment of indulgence. He had to wiggle his hips away from yours so you would not awake with his growing hardness against your ass.
Feeling a little guilty for his body’s response he decided to give you some space, sliding his form out from the side, slowly as not to wake you. He couldn’t help but smiling down at how comfortable you seemed as he made his way back to the driver’s seat, the seat still swivelled around to face the back.
Richard did eventually wake you up as the car pulled into the private garage area for the RK’s apartment building.
“We're here, little dove.” He coos to you, brushing his knuckles down the length of your arm.
Your eyes squinted open, feeling blinded by the violently bright fluorescent lights of the garage you had found yourself in. Looking down you had noticed one of Richard's coats had been draped over you. You rubbed your eyes briefly before reaching down to it to hand it over to Richard.
“You put it on.” He insisted, pushing it back towards you. “At least until we get inside. It gets cold in the garage, at least that’s what my sensors tell me.”
You didn’t object you just nodded in silence, still in that groggy half sleep-like state. Throwing the oversized coat onto yourself you open the car door and hop out, Richard grabbing your bag soon follows behind, hand on your shoulder as he directs you towards the elevator.
It felt strange being back in the city, even stranger to see the apartment building again.
When you entered back into your old home, it had felt different somehow, a little bit eerie even. Suppose it didn’t help that most of the lights were off.
“Collin and Connor are both out at the moment.” Richard finally spoke up again, leading you by the shoulder into the dark living room, with a flash of his LED the lights were on.
You squinted again at the harshness of them before Richard had dimmed them to a more pleasing brightness level.
“Why don’t you go and get a nice hot bath and I can put your stuff away.” He awkwardly half-smiles over at you.
“Are you sure?” You ask skittishly.
“Of course.” He tilts his head in confusion, it’s not like having YOU here was any bother to him, he was bloody delighted. “After that, I can go get my brothers?”
“Right now?” You stuttered out the question, fidgeting with the large sleeves of Richard’s coat that you had forgotten to take off.
“Do you want some time before?” Richard asked, head tilting once more, exposing his pale neck to you.
You shook your head and looked back down at your hands. “I don’t know, maybe. It’s not that I don’t want to see them. This is all just a little overwhelming.”
“I understand.” Richard nods. “Just one thing at a time.”
You look up at him once more, catching his cool eyes in a stare, you nod. “A hot bath sounds good.”

Blooming Day, Part 1
You neve imagined that your engagement would fail, that you would move to Korea, or that by a series of coincidences you would meet your long-term celebrity crush, Byun Baekhyun. You most certainly never imagined that someone like him would take an interest in you either, but he did; and now you’re stuck because you don’t trust like you used to and you just aren’t quite sure if you have the courage to take a chance on him.
Wordcount: 4k
You let out a sigh as you dropped your spoon back into your tea. You wondered how long it would take for the cheap metal to turn the drink as bitter as you felt about the state of your life at the current moment. You flopped back onto the floor, still not having any actual furniture despite having been in Korea for just under a month now.
Who needed a sofa or a nice set of kitchen chairs when you had that homely camping chair you picked up for cheap at the street market? Sure, the arms were flimsy, the cup holder was too small, and it sagged very low when you sat in it, but, it was something and it was yours.
To be fair, you thought, you were never supposed to have been here.
You were supposed to have rejected the opportunity to study for a year in Korea in favor of finally marrying your fiancé in the Spring: transferring to a college just 15 minutes away from the job he was offered at some powerhouse music label.
That was what you had been planning ever since you got engaged 6 months ago. Even found a nice apartment with the view of a park filled to the brim with tall trees and dickhead geese that you liked to watch chase people. You spent so many Saturday mornings with Ethan on the balcony. Nothing sounded better than finally starting a life together with the man you loved more than yourself.
Well, at least until you came home early on your anniversary to surprise him with his favorite dessert and found him balls deep in your (former) best friend.
On the bed you paid for.
The bitch even had the nerve to be wearing the fancy set of lingerie that you had bought for yourself just a few months prior as a reward for acing a particularly brutal exam.
You remember dropping the sweets onto the floor, furiously yanking the diamond off your left hand, and throwing it somewhere in his general direction. You tightly clutched the purse that you never even got the chance to set down to your body and ran back out of the apartment. He rushed after you, yelling some bullshit about how it “didn’t mean anything”, “it isn’t what you think”, and “(Y/N), I love you! I’m sorry. Baby, please stop!”
You didn’t, though. Your brisk walked changed into a full sprint when curious neighbors opened their doors to take a peek at the commotion. They glanced repeatedly between the sobbing girl and the naked man yelling after her. It was by far the most humiliating experience of your life.
From there the details of that day get a little fuzzy, but you remember taking a taxi to the airport and buying a last-minute flight to Seoul. A child kicked the back of your seat for at least half the time you were in the air out of boredom, but you didn’t have the energy to tell him to stop. After a good five hours of doing nothing but staring blankly in front of you, you managed to drift off.
When you came to, a flight attendant was explaining to everyone that they needed to get ready to disembark. Her warm smile and friendly tone did nothing but annoy you. Who gave her the right to be so happy when your world just crumbled beneath your feet?
You knew you were being irrational, but still.
After making it to what appeared to be a small shopping center within the airport, you decided that you needed a drink. Preferably something warm and sugary to get you out of the daze you were in. Luckily, a Starbucks was nestled in between two shops: One being an overpriced gift shop and the other selling fast food that was far too greasy for the average customer. About 20 minutes later you were sitting alone on a barstool, with a half-full venti cup that was most definitely cold by now, but you didn’t mind.
With one more deep breath, you reached into your purse and slid out your phone. You had turned it off immediately after buying your plane tickets and you were scared of the notifications that you would receive. Part of you was even more scared that you wouldn’t receive any.
Was it possible for him to just toss five years together away so quickly? Could you? After all, he did say he was sorry. That it was all just a big mistake, and that he loved you and not her.
But how could he do something like that to you when he said he loved you? You loved him, and you most certainly never slept with another man. Especially not in the bed you shared with him and with his closest friend.
How many times had they done it? Was it truly a mistake? Maybe he had just gotten drunk and it was all one big accident. Your head started to hurt with all the possibilities floating through your mind.
You had shocked yourself with a quick, but firm smack to the center of your forehead. “You don’t accidentally stick your dick in someone else, idiot. Why would he be drunk at 2 pm? He knew what he was doing.”
With your thumb pressing into the power button you watched with bated breath as the welcome screen flashed on. You waited for the notifications to flood your phone; the flight to Seoul was long, surely, you’d have received many texts in that time, right? Your finger tapped anxiously on the screen as it refreshed.
Then, one after another a notification popped up in a bright banner at the top of the phone. There were several voicemails and even more texts. They started out apologetic, parroting the words he yelled after you in the hallway. However, they grew increasingly nasty. Ethan always did have a nasty temper, and it flared up when he was being ignored and when he was drunk.
Judging by how slurred his voice was in the last few messages, and how incoherent his texts became, it was safe to assume that he had downed the bottle of (far too expensive) whiskey he loved to always keep stocked at the house.
While you weren’t able to make out everything he said to you, the gist was that you were just some dumb little girl that he had settled for because you were safe. That he never loved you and that you needed to apologize to him for the scene you created when you left the apartment.
“The neighbors were staring.” Because that was your fault, just like the reason he cheated was your fault too, apparently.
He ended his drunken tirade by saying that you would never find a man like him again and that sooner or later you would come crawling back to him. After all, you were dating up by dating him, he claimed. "What other man would want you?"
Though, you did not go crawling back to him. Not even after he sobered up and the second round of “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean any of it”s started back up again.
It was clear that he didn’t respect you. The only thing your father ever made you promise about how you would date is that you would not tolerate staying with a person who treated you with less dignity than you deserved. You knew that you would never be happy marrying a man that looked down on you. How would your life be anything but constant paranoia with a person that could run around with other women without even acting guilty about it?
It definitely was not easy, and there were times where you did consider that maybe you had overreacted. Admittedly, moving across the globe did seem rather dramatic at times, but going to Korea was something that you wanted to do long before you ever met Ethan. When you tried to look at things in a positive light, you saw that: you got to move on in your life, continue your education, and cross an item off of your bucket list all in one go. Despite trying your hardest to stay optimistic, most days you simply did not have the energy to do anything other than wallow in your own self-pity.
Today was one of those days.
You brought your hands to your chest and rolled over a few times to get on the sleeping mat you wanted to snuggle up in. While it was no Tempurpedic, it was surprisingly comfortable; especially when you wrapped yourself in the soft and bulky you crocheted the week prior.
You slipped off your glasses and placed them a few feet above the mat. Light was still pouring in through the window, so you brought your blanket up and over your head. It covered your eyes while the edge curved down around the side of your face and rested under your chin. You loved the darkness and all-around cozy feeling it provided without having your mouth covered by the blanket. You hated having your mouth covered by the blanket. It never felt like you could get enough air when it was.
Unfortunately for you, the sleep was not as comforting as you assumed it would be. The happy dreams where everything you could have ever wanted and hoped for were nowhere to be found that night, neither were the strange ones that left you with a feeling of confusion that you couldn’t quite shake when you woke up. Instead, you were plagued with watching a replay of your anniversary on loop.
After a few hours, you managed to pry your eyes open. Your skin felt uncomfortably sticky due to the cold sweat you had broken out in. You felt warm tears welling up in your eyes and threatening to spill over. You blinked them away, angry at yourself for still crying over him.
You felt pathetic.
You pressed the heels of your hands against your temples in a sad attempt to get the thump, thump, thumping in your head to stop. You raked your fingernails down your face, wincing at the slight burn you felt. You snatched the glasses from the ground and hastily shoved them onto your face.
You picked up your phone and tapped on it harder than you probably needed to. You didn’t know what you were expecting to find on your phone, but you hoped that there would be something there that stop the lonely feeling you felt in your chest from consuming you entirely.
Your salvation came in the form of a text from Minji. “CALL ME!!!” It read, several emojis following the exclamation points. It brought a smile to your lips. That was something Minji had always been good at.
You had first met her back in high school when she was taking part in her own foreign exchange program. The two of you became fast friends, staying in contact with one another even after she went back home to Korea. Her personality was bright and warm, and she had a knack for making even the most socially awkward people feel comfortable in her presence.
Despite your history, you had to admit that you were a bit shocked to hear from her. Seven months ago she became a trainee for SM entertainment, and your communication with her went from nearly daily to radio silence. It stung, but you understood. Becoming an idol had always been her dream, and you didn’t think it would be fair to try to distract her from that.
You had let her know when you first arrived in Korea, and while she seemed excited over the phone, she hadn’t seen you yet. You pressed the phone icon next to her name, opting to put the call on speaker because your earbuds were nowhere to be found.
“(Y/N)! You got my message.”
“Yeah, what’s up Minji?” You replied, lightly digging your fingers into your thumb. You couldn’t help but feel slightly nervous. You wondered what exactly it was that she needed.
“Look, I know I’ve been a bad friend. I have been distant lately, and this isn’t fair. Especially not to you. I mean, you’re the one who encouraged me to even go to the audition in the first place. If you hadn’t of yelled at me until I got off my ass and went…. Well, I wouldn’t be where I am now.”
She paused for a moment to take a breath.
“So, I want to make it up to you. I don’t exactly have the money to take you out for dinner or anything, but SM is having a party on Friday. All the trainees that are close to debuting will be there, and so will the established artists. It is supposed to help us build “inter-company relationships”; whatever that means. We are all allowed to bring a plus one, and I want that to be you. There will be expensive catering, and that fancy booze that is so easy to get drunk on since it doesn’t taste like alcohol. The perfect venue for catching up. So, what do you say?”
She sounded slightly awkward, but hopeful as well. Before you could answer she started speaking.
"I know it isn't exactly your scene, but I really want to see you."
"What's the dress code, Min? I wouldn't want to look totally out of place." You replied. You closed your eyes tightly. Minji was right, big parties were not your thing. However, you reasoned, maybe you needed something out of your comfort zone.
Minji squealed so loudly that you recoiled slightly. "Does that mean you're coming? Yes! Nothing too fancy, but not casual either. Remember, simple is sexy, baby."
You snorted and shook your head. "Okay, I'll keep that in mind."
"I'll text you the address.” You heard her name get called in the background. “Sorry, I have to get back to practice now. I’ll see you in a few days. Bye!” The line went dead, and you rolled back over. You felt a contentedness that you hadn’t felt since the breakup wash over you. It was nice to know that you still mattered to someone.
The days leading up to Friday flew by quickly. You had bought yourself a fitted black dress for the party. You wanted to look nice, but you didn’t exactly want to draw any unwanted attention to yourself either. You paired the dress with some flats and kept your makeup minimal as well.
You grinned at yourself and gave a little twirl when you did your final once over in the mirror. You rarely got to wear dresses; Ethan had always gotten upset with you when you tried. He thought they brought on too much male attention, and in the interests of keeping the peace you just gave them up.
You felt pretty.
You felt happy. Truly happy.
A pleasant warmth bloomed in your chest, and you could feel it spread throughout your body. You eyed the perfume you had bought and saved for a special occasion. This occasion, you decided, was special enough.
In 20 minutes time you found yourself in front of the doors to SM Entertainment. They seemed big, and mildly intimidating, but you pushed through them regardless. You sent Minji a text that you had arrived and you moved to stand by some chairs in the lobby.
You dug your fingers into your thumb while you waited. It stung a bit, but the feeling kept you grounded. You took in the architecture of the building, staring in awe at how sleek the whole place looked.
A hand on your shoulder startled you and you turned to see Minji’s smiling face. You smiled back at her, and you were quickly brought into a hug. It was slightly awkward, as a hug was a greeting she reserved for her foreign friends only. Nevertheless, you appreciated the gesture.
When she pulled away you finally got a good look at her. The first thing you noticed was that she was significantly slimmer. You felt a flash of self-consciousness hit you, but you quickly dismissed it.
“Come on, the party’s this way.”
After a few hallways, and a short elevator ride you found yourself in the reception room. It was loud, and lively. Minji led you closer to one of the walls by the back of the room. It was in close enough proximity to the dancefloor that you two could join in without too much trouble, but just quite enough that you two could talk comfortably. Minji spoke first.
She went on and on about all the funny things that happened in practice, and how she was so excited to have been placed in a group she knew would debut sometime in the near future. She hadn’t been given an exact date yet, but they had started to shoot promotional content. Minji explained that she had done three photoshoots in the past week, and cringed when she talked about how awkward she felt doing her solo shots.
She giggled and grabbed a glass of something pink and pretty from a waiter that was carrying them by. “I felt like I was doing school pictures again. Hopefully these ones turn out a little bit better.” She took a gulp of her drink and then nodded toward you.
“Enough about me. How have you been? How’s the wedding planning going?”
Ah, right. You hadn’t told her about the breakup yet.
You coughed awkwardly and brought your left hand up to show it off. “It’s…” you hesitated “It isn’t anymore. Ethan and I are over.” You averted your eyes, grabbing your own alcohol and downing it. When you looked back at Minji, her eyes were wide and she sputtered out a quick apology. Her cheeks were stained an embarrassed pink.
“What happened?” She questioned before she could stop herself. “I’m sorry, you don’t have to answer that if you don’t want to.”
“I caught him and Rachel in bed together.” You answered simply, not wanting to go into too much detail. You didn’t want to ruin the night that had been so fun so far.
Minji’s face hardened. She had never liked Rachel, or Ethan for that matter. You knew that, and you were hoping to escape an “I told you so”. Minji scoffed. “What an asshole.” She muttered quietly. “Who needs him anyway?”
You smiled at her. “Not me; but what I do need is some more of this.” You held up your empty glass and shook it slightly.
After a few more drinks and reminisced memories you found yourself on the dancefloor with Minji. You felt the heat radiating off of you, and you weren’t sure if it was from the alcohol or from the dancing, but it was nearly too much for you. You made a mental note to just drink water for the rest of the night, but your head was fuzzy and you weren’t quite sure if you’d be able to resist a pina colada if one became accessible.
You weren’t the best dancer, especially compared to the trainees and idols surrounding you, but you were enjoying yourself. You felt a fresh rush of adrenaline hit you when Exo’s Wolf came on. You were sure you and Minji looked ridiculous when you made wolf ears with your hands at the “awoo” parts, but the two of you were laughing to hard to truly care.
“I haven’t heard this song in so long!” You shouted to her.
She looked at you in surprise. “What? But you love Exo.”
You nodded back to her. “I do, but Ethan didn’t like me listening to them.”
“Why not?”
You shrugged. “I don’t know, he never really gave me a good reason.” Minji rolled her eyes once again.
“Just another reason to be glad he’s out of your life.” You giggled at her statement. She was right. The more you thought back on your relationship the more you realized that maybe he wasn’t really the prince charming you thought he was. You couldn’t just be you when you were with him. You were the you he wanted you to be. The only thing that you left the relationship with was a monthly payment to a landlord for an apartment you weren’t even living in. Ethan had refused to allow you to take your name off of the lease. So, fuck Ethan.
“Have you met them?” You asked. Her eyes brightened, and she nodded her head rapidly.
“Yes, and god. They are so much hotter in person.” You noticed a shift in her expression then. Something mischievous made its way onto her features. “Are you ever going to tell me who your bias is?”
You laughed. “Fuck no, Minji. Definitely not now. You know them! That would be weird.” You whined. You knew that if you admitted to holding a fondness for Baekhyun that you would never hear the end of it. She pouted at you. Her lip stuck out and it wobbled slightly.
You walked backwards a few steps and she followed. “Puppy dog eyes won’t work on me, Minji.”
“Oh, come on. I don’t know Exo that well. Just tell me.”
“Nope, too weird.” You laughed again. The room was spinning, and everything seemed far more funny to you than it should have. However, your laughter was cut short when you backed into the firm chest of someone behind you.
You felt the warm exhale of breath against your face as a voice you only recognized from interviews and fancams whispered in your ear. “What’s so weird about us?” You froze. A feeling of terror shot down your spine and your face became far hotter than you thought was humanly possible. That voice definitely belonged to a one Byun Baekhyun, and his tone was teasing. “Huh?” He questioned again. After the initial shock wore away, you realized that your body was completely pressed against his.
You shot away from him like you had been scalded. He had a Cheshire-cat grin plastered on his face. “N-nothing.” You stammered. Your eyes were so wide they nearly popped right out of your skull, and you were sure Minji’s were doing the same.
His eyes slowly glanced down the length of your body before his gaze found Minji’s. “Friend of yours?” He asked. She merely nodded in response. He turned his attention back to you and bowed slightly. “I’m Baekhyun, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” You didn’t respond until you felt Minji elbow you in the side.
You bowed back, slightly lower than what he had given to you. “(Y/N).”
He grinned at you once again. He ran a hand through his neatly styled hair, causing a few strands to fall back over his forehead. His cheeks were flushed red, and you wondered if he was as tipsy as you were. “Minji, we are having a bit of an afterparty at the dorms later. Well, technically it’s supposed to be a mentorship meeting, but we want to make it fun, you know? The rest of your members have already been invited. Feel free to bring your friend along.”
He winked at the two of you, and then he was gone.
You stood there for a moment, not quite sure how to process what had just happened. You glanced over at Minji to find that she was already staring at you. “What the fuck was that?” You whispered to her. You felt a sudden need for secrecy, and it seemed she felt the same way.
“I think Baekhyun just hit on you.” You shook your head violently.
“And I think you’re crazy.” You stated, though conviction was nowhere to be found in your voice.
“You are coming with me to that afterparty.”
“I most certainly am not! You heard him. It is supposed to be a mentorship thing.”
“And you heard him when he said he wanted something more fun that that.” She hissed back.
“Minji.” You warned.
“(Y/N).” She shot back as she raised her eyebrows at you. “If nothing else, come for me. Tonight is our night to catch up, remember?” Your fingers went to your thumb, and you nodded your head. Butterflies bloomed in your stomach and you tried to expel them with a sigh.
“Okay, I’ll go.”

Do you have any key advice for college and how to maneuver as a black woman? I really wanna have a fun year but I don’t want to end up a horror story and I’ve never really had my own freedom like that . Thanks!
Your College Guide!
Remember health and academics come first, that’s what you’re there for. If you are overexerting yourself to be social, be sure to lighten the load. You don’t have to say yes to everything.
Parties:
•Party smart. If you go to parties, go with a friend. Make sure it’s a solid friend that won’t leave you, especially if you’re drinking.
-> If you decide to drink, watch your drink, if you set it down then don’t pick it back up.
-> Don’t cut the fool at every single party because you never know who is watching. Have a good time but keep a balance you know?
-> You dont always have to drink at every party, but if you do, do it wisely and correct.
-> I’m 21 so I can speak more on drinking. Pregaming makes parties more fun, that way you don’t have to drink what they have available because you already had a lil sum before.
-> Wear shoes that aren’t nice to parties/clubs because the floor is filthy and sticky with alcohol chile.
-> I’m hoping y’all aren’t partyin with the virus lol!!! WEAR YO MASK AND SOCIAL DISTANCE..
Friendships & Social Life:
•Easiest way to make friends: join clubs / organizations, start conversations with people in lecture, live with roommates in a dorm (freshman year)
•If you are living with roommates, make a plan before everything and make an agreement — things go way easier. Resolve conflict when it happens. Don’t wait it out.
•Make sure you still make an effort with the friends that you had before now if they’re solid.
•Grow your social circle but remember that people are acquaintances, not best friends. You should only have so many best friends, not a whole football field of them.
•You will meet all kinds of people especially people that have no home training. Don’t be so quick to call everyone your friend and cut people AWF if they play with you.
Academics:
•Get to know your professors! It’ll help you a lot and it gives you some networking for real.
•Read ahead before your classes, it really helps.
•Learn the study methods effective for you.. rewriting notes, recording lectures and replaying them, sticky note the textbook...whatever works!
•Download the Forest app when you need to be productive. It blocks your apps while “planting a tree”! So cute.
•Avoid imposter syndrome cause it will happen — which means you don’t feel like you deserve to be where you are, doing what you are doing. Ease up on yourself and don’t be so critical.
•Always be strategic about your course load.
•Summer classes are actually the best so, don’t sleep on summer semesters.
-> Take use of your university’s counseling center.
-> Career services as well if you need advice.
-> Keep in touch with your advisor, and if your advisor isn’t all the way there then have someone that will help you.
-> Writing Lab if you need it
Personal Life:
•Be mindful of your plans, be discreet. Do not go around telling everyone what you want to do or achieve. Like I said in another post, privacy. Discretion is key to everything. People should know OF you but not intimate details.
•Don’t be messy, don’t go on social media subtweeting or anything corny like that.
•Don’t post everything on social media because again, people watch social media. Some on campus jobs want to see your social media.
-> Sometimes, delete social media off your phone. Having such an emphasis on it isn’t healthy. Understand this!
•Get adequate rest. That’s so important and don’t stay up worrying or studying, it won’t help you.
•Guard your heart. It’s okay to have fun dating, and keeping your options open, but not every person you decide to chill with has your best intentions. Keep your standards and keep your boundaries. Don’t sacrifice those for anybody.
-> Be safe. Know who you’re sleeping with if you decide to do that. Don’t think sleeping with someone will make them commit either because that won’t happen.
-> Don’t just give it up to anybody. Especially frat guys or athletes. Trust the vibes you receive. Don’t just tolerate anything from anybody.
Girly Things:
•Consider birth control, even if you’re not active.
•Have a pampering routine to wind down and relax from everything, including the social life and the academics.
•Have a yearly planner, have a journal/diary, have a to do list.
•Mental health and mindfulness come before everything.
•Take pictures and look cute — even if you just going to Walmart I dont care start looking cute just for you!
•Remember that you matter and all of these things, such as friends, grades, etc. do not define you.
•Most people change their major during college, so if you do it’s not the end of the world.
•It doesn’t matter if you take longer than some people to finish — as long as you finish. Things happen, if you have to take a medical semester or a mental health semester, you are not failing. Your health always comes FIRST. Despite what people think — it’s health THEN academics.
•You can have an amazing time while also learning as much as you can. These things aren’t mutually exclusive! Your college experience is really what you make it! Be wise about who you surround yourself with, make intuitively led decisions, and keep your mental health and self image in tact above all else. Many people are putting up a front at college and things aren’t always what they seem. Don’t compare yourself, worry about your OWN stuff, and keep it pushing!!! 💕
Remember you’re the baddest on campus and walk around like you know you are!! Carry yourself like a lady, and always be gracious. I wish you an amazing semester full of abundance! If you need anything, send another message!
XOXO, TheVirgoDoll ❤️

This is a pre-slash. Peterpatter, if you please.
No insult is allowed, for any reason. Constructive critics are allowed. Don't talk about the ship, though. I won't change it.
I'll probably publish this writing on AO3 soon.
Reggie knew that winter was coming. For sure, he did. But that didn't mean that he wouldn't have been impatiently waiting for its arrival. Or that he hadn't started putting Christmas decorations as soon as Halloween had ended. He loved Christmas. It was an irrevocable fact that everyone who knows him - or just met him - had known right away. He loved Christmas.
Primarily because he hadn't really had the chance to enjoy one on his own as a child. His parents didn't make a lot of money, and his mother made sure he knew that Santa didn't exist, so he wouldn’t be devastated if he didn’t receive what he wanted or any present at all. Reg had run to his father crying, and he asked him, tried to ask, with strange words, all the while sniffing, bawling, and trying to breathe while talking and crying. They fought until the day after New Year's Eve.
They also fought the next Christmas; this time because the tree wasn't good enough. The year after that, too. Well, Christmas was anything but enjoyable. He actually hated Christmas. And he didn't even enjoy the gift-giving either because they would fight (not good enough gifts, too expensive or something), and he wouldn’t get what he wanted or any present.
Then, he met Luke, Alex, and Bobby and Christmas became something great! Something that made him enjoy Christmas.
However, this year's Christmas was special. Luke, Alex, and he had left their homes, so this was the first Christmas they had together. Luke had left that same year, while he and Alex did it between the end of last year and the start of that year. It was the same thing in the end. Bobby's parents were nice enough to let the cook give them food. The cook was also an angel and send them eggnog, Yule log cake, and so much more, like brownies. Bobby's cook was a delight and Reg loved her. She also was delightful and give him advice about cooking if he asked. And even if he didn't.
This year, Christmas was going to be the best and for that, Reggie had an idea. He had help from Alex, so it was in no way a dumb idea. They made a special Advent Calendar for Luke since it was approaching his mother's birthday. And instead of only chocolates, they added sweet, corny, cheesy messages in it and some quotes from singers he liked the most.
Reggie wanted, mostly, to do it to make Luke happy because he knows how much Christmas meant to him and his family and because he was gone during the holiday, so he couldn't really enjoy it. And, to Reggie, he deserved to have the best Christmas.
Alex and Reggie had the idea, and Bobby helped too. He built the Calendar, the doors and give some decoration ideas, he also added small decorations inside the boxes, as gifts. Alex wrote the messages and the quotes, he also found the best chocolates that would last long and wrapped them neatly, and he organized the calendar. Reg found the quotes and messages, checked the Chocolates (because who better than him to try and rate the chocolates), and helped with the overall appearance. Reggie also had the mission of shifting Luke's attention from them, and keeping him occupied somewhere.
They painted the calendar out together, with Reggie's suggestion. He made each little box/day be named after one of Luke's songs. The 19th, being Emily's birthday, was called Unsaid Emily. It was, by far, the day they took time to make perfect. The chocolate they put in it was the one Luke and Emily loved and used to eat together watching Christmas movies. The color was orange and light pink, both of their favorite colors.
They had a wonderful time doing everything while trying to be as discreet as possible, but nothing could compare to when they gifted it to Luke. They all pretended not to notice that little tear falling from his eyes as he noticed the 19th day. They had never experienced a hug like that before. The hug was long, a little uncomfortable since they were all bundled into Luke's arm. But it was a perfect hug.
Any hugs from family is perfect.

Somewhere Only We Know
This fanfic is based upon Keane’s song “Somewhere Only We Know.” It has always reminded me of the sibuna clearing so I wanted to incorporate it into a fanfiction.
Fair warning: I am the CEO of writing sappy sibuna fanfic. I absolutely love the found family aspect of sibuna and will die on that hill.
“I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river, and it made me complete”
Amber’s freshly cut, shoulder length blonde hair gently flew behind her as she walked down the hill. Even though she was in the woods, she still wore her favorite pair of wedges. Such a monumental occasion like this called for such measures. Today was the first time sibuna was going to be in the same place together, at once, in two years- there if you counted the year since they had last seen Nina. It was a very special day. Of course it had been Amber who had planned the whole thing and of course she had been the first to arrive. Even after all these years, she still knew the pathway to the Sibuna Clearing like the back of her hand. How could she not? This was the place where it all began. This was the place where the club, she had named and founded, mind you, was born that crisp autumn afternoon with Nina and Fabian. Everything led back to here. So, she sat on one of the logs and waited. She waited to see the raven hair of her favorite geek; the red hair of the only girl she knew who could pull off such a goth pixie look; the silly outfit of the boy who she loved first; the boyish grin of the boy who saved Sibuna; the not so well-known, but trusted, perfect curls of the newbie; and perhaps the one she was most excited to see, the extremely missed smile of her best friend.
For the first time since she had left Anubis all those years ago, Amber felt complete. Sitting in this beloved spot, she couldn’t help but reminisce on the feelings that sibuna brought her. Sure, it was scary as hell being haunted by egyptain spirits and deadly curses, but being in sibuna had taught her what it felt like to belong. She had found a family through the scared eyes of the six other teenagers who were in well over their heads. For the first time in her life, she had felt loved.
“Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old, and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired, and I need somewhere to begin”
Fabin ran his fingers through his hair- a sure sign that he was nervous. It was his tale-tale sign that he was struggling with some deep inner turnmoil. Even after spending years of building up confidence from his once previous state of being that nerdy push over in high school….even after spending three years of his high school career fighting egyptian spirits, curses and saving the world...the idea of seeing her for the first time in three years was enough to send him right back over the edge. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to see her. No, it wasn’t that at. He had spent the past three years wanting nothing more than to see Nina Martin again. But now that he finally had the chance? Well, he just didn’t know where to begin.
He had spent the last two years since graduation desperately trying to escape the feeling that, at the mere age of 18, he had already fulfilled his life’s purpose. Since leaving sibuna, nothing had ever measured up. He had never felt that feeling of belonging again. He was so young, yet he felt like he was already 100 years old and had done everything in life he was meant to do. Solving ancient egyptian curses? Check. Escaping Egyptian ghosts whose purpose was to kill you? Check. Saving the world multiple times from utter destruction? Check. He was so tired of feeling like he had nothing left for him anymore. And all he wanted was to feel like he belonged again- like he was more than a pushover nerd like the boy he spent so long proving to others he wasn’t anymore. What Fabian never truly realized was that he didn’t need to prove himself to others anymore. He was constantly trying to prove himself to, well, himself.
“I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?”
Patrica and Eddie walked down the hill in silence. Of course they had come together- back to the spot where, even if they hadn’t been there for the founding of the club, the couple owed everything to. Sibuna may have been a hindrance to their relationship in the beginning, with Patricia having to constantly hide her real reasons for disappearing so suddenly and so often. And that time she even had to go as far as using Eddie as a Sibuna swing temp for one of their tunnel tasks (something they could laugh at now). But, for Eddie and Patrica separately….it was what gave them a home and something to hold on to. Before sibuna and before each other, neither Eddie or Patrica had ever felt like they had a purpose. Both of them had spent so long feeling forgotten by their respective parents, like they were disposable in their own family hierarchies. Sibuna had taught each of them that they had a purpose. But, more than that, it taught them each that they were deserving of unconditional love and friendship.
“So,” Patrica broke the silence, “you’re sure that she is going to be here?”
There was no question about the she in question.
Eddie shrugged his shoulders. “I mean I think so. She responded to Amber’s SOS message about the urgent need for a sibuna reunion.”
Eddie and Nina hadn’t kept total silence between the two of them since she had practically fallen off the face of the earth. They did share a godly connection between the two of them after all. A connection that no one, no even their fellow sibunas, would understand. So, when Eddie lost his osirian powers, Nina received a frantic text a few days later. Since then, they touched base a couple times. Nina had made Eddie swear that he would keep her up to date on her friends she had to leave behind. He told her everything, from what universities everyone had gotten into to who everyone was dating. Even if that meant that he had to break the news about Mara and Fabian not so long lasting relationship (she wasn’t as quick to reply to that message).
Patrica was silent for a beat before finally responding. “I’m glad. I’ve really missed her.”
And Eddie could tell she was being sincere. Nina had left so suddenly and so unexpected. Seeing her again? It was all they had wanted for the past three years. No matter how far she tried to stay away or how much time had passed, Nina would always be apart of their family.
“Oh simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin”
Alfie slid down the hill that led him to the familiar fire pit with the logs surrounding it. He couldn’t help but remember the time when he had (more like was forced) to burn his favorite joker hat in order to really be considered a sibuna. But, if he was being honest, it took him a long time to really feel like he belonged in sibuna. He couldn’t help but feel like his unfortunate time being locked in the cellar was the only reason he was allowed to be a sibuna. If it hadn’t been for that, well he probably would have stayed in the dark about what was really going on in Anubis House for his entire time there. Alfie never said anything, but he could always hear the unwillingness in Nina’s voice when she finally told him about the secrets of Anubis House. Now, after being a sibuna for three years, he knew that Nina was just a very stubborn person who was just trying to protect him by keeping him in the dark. But it had stung, to think that he wasn't wanted in the club that he loved being a part of. It was nice to finally feel like he was more than the stupid, class clown. Sibuna gave him the chance to prove himself. To prove that he was brave, smart and, well, needed. He would never forget that.
So, when had received a text from his ex-girlfriend saying that she was planning a sibuna reunion and that it was absolutely mandatory they all be there, he was the first to respond. He needed to feel like he belonged again. He needed something to rely on again.
“And if you have a minute, why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go somewhere only we know?
Somewhere only we know”
Sometimes, K.T couldn’t help but feel like an imposter. Like she was just a replacement. She couldn’t help but remember that she had only been a member of sibuna for one year. She wasn’t there for its founding or for the first two years its members spent fighting for their lives. So, sometimes, she looked at Fabina, Patrica, Alfie (and Amber for that short while she was there) with envy. There was an invisible string that held the four of them together based on shared past trauma, unconditional friendship and a kind of trust K.T never knew was possible to be shared. Even Eddie, with all of his Osirian and leader of sibuna glory, wasn’t a part of this bond the four of them shared. The four of them shared a bond that K.T would never truly be able to nudge her way into. And she was okay with that. It wasn’t that she felt unwanted or anything. No, it wasn’t that at all. She knew her fellow sibuna members loved her and wanted her there. But she wasn’t an original and that was something that made her feel very insecure about her position in sibuna. Even if such feelings were unwarranted by the actions of her fellow sibunas.
So, K.T couldn’t help but feel nervous about this reunion. She didn’t want to be. At all. This was her family for crying out loud. But...the infamous Nina Martin was going to be there today and K.T didn’t know what to expect. Would Nina welcome her with open arms into the club she had founded? Or would she view K.T as nothing more than her replacement and give her the cold shoulder? She had never met Nina, but she felt like she had. This was the chosen one. The girl who founded sibuna and served as leader for two years. The girl who was Amber’s best friend and roommate. The girl who broke Fabian’s heart with a simple letter. She had never met Nina, but she was already intimidated by her.
“Oh simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin”
Nina Martin was scared. Ever since she was little, Nina had a reputation for being fearless. She was the little girl who got into trouble for jumping off of high platforms on the playground at recess. Then, when her parents died, everyone looked at Nina with admiration. They looked at her with pity, sure, but also with wonder. Even being so young, Nina had held herself together so well. What everyone didn’t realize was that Nina held her tears for the pillow at night when no one else was around. That was when she allowed herself to be weak. To be scared. Even when she came to Anubis House and began her lead over sibuna, her fellow sibuna members looked at her with the same admiration. Yet they too (not even Amber despite being her roommate) didn’t realize that she allowed herself to be weak when no one was around. Nina prided herself on being brave-on being fearless. Allowing others to see her break? That just wasn’t acceptable.
So maybe that was why Nina didn’t come back to England for her final year. Maybe that was why, when everything started to crumple, when her Gran’s health took such a drastic decrease, when the ancient Egyptian Gods started taunting her even when she was home in America with worse nightmares than ever before, that Nina chose to spare her friends. She didn’t want them to see her at her lowest. She didn’t want to bring the hopelessness she felt about her gran’s health, or how haunting the Gods tasks were getting. About how the Gods were demanding more of her than ever, with much more higher stakes. So...Nina did what may have either been the bravest or cowardice thing of her life (she still couldn't decide). She ran and hid in America. She ignored her friends’ desperate pleas for any contact. And, quite frankly, it was the worst year of her life. She had to say goodbye to the boy who was her first love...a boy she still loved. She had to say goodbye to her best friend and roommate. She had to say goodbye to the only people, who besides her gran, she knew loved her. But she was about to see them all again for the first time in three years and, despite all of the egyptian gods she fought off, this was the scariest thing she had ever done. At this moment, Nina Martin wasn’t fearless. She felt like the biggest coward ever.
“And if you have a minute, why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go? So why don't we go?”
Perhaps it was sheer fate or a coincidence but, ironically ceremonially, Nina was the last to arrive at the sibuna clearing. She stopped a couple tracks away from where the group had gathered- just far enough away where she was hidden from eye sight by the tree line but close enough where she could hear what they were saying. Through the trees, Nina could see them. She heard her best friend’s laugh echo through the forest as she hugged Alfie (who was no doubt telling some stupid joke). She saw how Patrica and Eddie’s hands were intertwined so tightly, like they afraid what would happened if they let go. Looked like Nina wasn’t the only one still plagued by the ghosts and nightmares of what happened here. She saw an unfamiliar face, but noted how much it looked like she just clicked with the others (which made Nina’s heart happy). Finally, she allowed her eyes to land on Fabian. She could quite literally feel her heart sink to the ground when she saw his familiar raven black hair and boyish grin. Of everyone, he was the one who was the hardest to let go. He was the first boy to ever hold her heart, and that was something time nor distance would ever change.
Suddenly, Nina became fearless again. She looked around at these five people who she trusted with her life and she knew she was home. Almost as if just being around them was enough to make her feel strong and brave again, Nina knew everything would work out. This place...this simple clearing in the woods on the grounds of their old boarding school was where everything changed for Nina. For all of them. What looked like a simple clearing in the woods to outsiders, was a lifeline to the six souls who gathered there today. It was where they, as lost and confused teenagers, were found by a force much bigger than themselves. It was somewhere only they knew.
Nina took a deep breath and fed off the courage sheerly being in this spot gave off. She stepped out of the lining of trees and into the eyesight of her fellow sibunas. Five pairs of eyes turned to her. Yet, Nina was no longer scared of what came next
She was finally home.
“Oh, this could be the end of everything
So why don't we go somewhere only we know?
Somewhere only we know
Somewhere only we know”

Hi I saw that your requests are open.would you mind writing something exo‘s Kai where he misses a date bcs he’s out with his friends and he forgot. Thank you!!
{ thank you so much for requesting! i love exo and the people who ignite my love for them. have a nice day ! }
“your phone is vibrating again!” jongdae nudged jongin who was too immersed in the movie to notice the device buzzing in his pocket.
“it’s just y/n. let’s watch the movie now.” jongin replied monotonously.
jongdae merely shook his head at the younger and did as said. the 9 boys giggled and whistled with the audience as the movie came to its end.
“how about another movie?” loey wiggled his brows in antipication as the boys howled in approval. “ where is our leader anyway?” he asked , craning his neck to find him in the scattered crowd.
“talking to his mom! she was calling him since the morning but he just saw the missed calls so he’s getting schooled i guess!”sehun cackled making everyone bursting in laughter.
“you all wait for him.i’m going to use the bathroom. anybody wanna join?” jongin screamed while taking back steps.
“shhh! we don’t want attention you freak. go with him soo or he’ll attract the fangirls llike this!” kyungsoo reluctantly followed minseok’s instructions as he slowly caught up to jongin who looked like he had no worries in the world!
“the number you are trying to reach is not available, please try after sometime”
the same electronic message was playing from last 2 hours. while the first three hours were spent in waiting and cursing him for being late , the fury in you head was now looming into extreme worry. he was supposed to be home at 9 p.m sharp for the date that was a history now.
from last forty-five minutes, you were pacing around the living room in the very same pajamas that were the subject of the date. you contemplated calling one of the members but it was already past 12 and the fact that they all lived with their partners coerced your mind from being indecent.
suddenly the front door opened and there came your fiance jongin!
and the first thing he noticed at his arrival was you!
“why aren’t you sleeping cutie?” he pleasantly asked as he took long strides to reach you.
“where the hell were you?” your voice came out harsher than intended but there were other things than polite language that needed your attention.
“what has gotten into you? i told you i was going to movies with others.” his scoff caught you off guard as his eyes bored into yours.
“you didn’t tell me a thing jongin. you were supposed to be-
“i must have forgot! simple! why are you screaming at 1 a.m!”
now it was your turn to scoff. “ check your phone jongin. and the date as well. maybe you’ll remember.”
he rolled his eyes before fishing out the phone from his pocket.
20 missed calls, 12 messages.
as he scrolled through the messages that made clear why you were acting like this and why you were not asleep in the first place.
you said nothing. you were standing there like a tree and let jongin scan the surroundings.
candles were decorating the whole living room and dining area and then he realised that the candles were supposed to be lit, the dining area was supposed to be filled with aroma of delicacies and he was not supposed to be in his jeans.
he was supposed to be in the pajamas. the white bear ones that matched exactly with yours. but he was not and he had forgotten the date night!
again!
“i’m going to sleep. you can take a shower or do whatever.” saying that , you turned around before he could see the tears welling in your eyes but he knew you better!
as you were about to enter the room, jongin’s senses kicked in and he ran and hugged you closely to restrict your movement.
“leave me jon-
“no! i’m sorry. i know i’m an asshole but don’t cry please.” he pleaded as he removed one of his hand from your waist and placed it over your eyes, covering them completely.
“let me go. i’m tire-
“no! forgive me first. i swear it was unintentional. i was busy in the afternoon and then sehun made plan for movies and i got distracted. i thought i had told you but i’m sorry for being a moron. i won’t do it again. never. i promise!”
the confined tears were set free as he confessed quietly, “ you always do this to me , i’m not gonna forgive you this time and i’m never gonna set up a date again. you are a piece of shit kim jongin!”’ you declared through your light sniffles, making jongin’s grip tighter on your waist.
his other had on your eyes went into action as soon as he heard the first sniffles. without turning you around, his thumbs rubbed your cheeks while he muttered apologies and placed light kisses on your head in try to soothe you.
as you took a deep breath indicating your calmness , he started singing his infamous apology song.
“if i’m 84 and can’t remember my name anymore
faded minds and don’t know how much time i’ve got left
if my lungs still got breath
one thing’s sure...i’ll still be yours”
“but you would still miss our dates!” he laughed as the words left your lips. he circled to finally face you and his heart broke at the sight.
“i seriously don’t deserve you. we should get divorced soon then i won’t make your cry anymore!”
“we are not married yet jongin and you are not getting rid of me this easily.”
“who said i want to! and you can’t sleep like a hungry bear. how about i wear my bear pajamas and watch you eating dinner!”
“i hate you kim jongin”
“i love you too to-be-mrs kim jongin”
the dinner was tasty and so were the kisses that you received between each bite as an apology!

Can you do a pov reader with SAO gang holiday special?
This was a fun challenge! I’ve only ever written ONE POV reader before, and it was an x Reader for a mutual’s birthday! I thought long and hard about how to fit the reader into this fic, and I think it turned out pretty decent! Let me know how I did!
As you’re walking home from school, your phone vibrates in your pocket. Since you’re on the train, you slip it out and check the notification, curious if it’s a friend texting or just your mom telling you what to do about dinner. To your delight, it’s a group text. You flip it open to see a few people have already responded to the initial message. It looks like Asuna’s invited everyone over to the log cabin for a small holiday party in ALO. Lisbeth spammed the chat with a bunch of excited emojis, and a few confirmations had already been sent from Sinon, Leafa, and Klein. You think about how much homework you have to do for a moment, and then, with a shrug, you decide that it’s just one day. You deserve to hang out with your friends, especially for the holidays.
With your confirmation typed up and sent, you smile and pocket your phone just in time to get off at your train stop. If you hurry and get a decent amount of homework done, you won’t have as much to worry about when you head to the ALO party later. You speed down the sidewalk at a quicker pace than usual, already feeling excited to have some much-needed break time from all of the school stress. Racing into your home, you barely stop long enough to slip into your house slippers and then you dash past the kitchen to grab a snack before you head into your room. You check the time. You have a couple of hours before the party.
In that time, you complete as much homework as you can, checking off each subject’s work as you go in your planner. You get a lot more done than you thought you would have; perhaps the motivation of the holiday party gave you more energy. When you’re finally closing the last tab on your homework readings, you breathe out a sigh of relief and turn your head to look at your Amusphere, sitting there on the headboard of your bed, waiting to be turned on. With an eager grin, you change into some more comfortable clothes for diving, crawl onto the bed after closing your door and putting a note on it for your family, and then you slip the Amusphere over your eyes. You say the two magic words that will take you to Alfheim, and before you know it, you’re materializing in the living area, receiving a smile from Asuna and Sinon, who are setting up the coffee table with little decorations.
“Oh, you’re a little early!” Asuna says. “Good! Can you take care of some of the decorations? Lisbeth was supposed to be here by now, but she’s running a little late because her mom needed her to do something.”
You’re eager to help, so you ask her what decorations need taking care of. As it turns out, they’ve purchased pretty much everything the game had to offer in the ways of holiday decorations. There were wreaths, decorative candles that burned in different colors to resemble holiday string lights, more traditional candles, lots of red and green ribbons and garlands, strings of popcorn, and candy canes. Asuna has even gone through the trouble of making everyone holiday outfits that fit with their ALO races. She gives you yours, and you equip it quickly to get in the spirit of the party.
Decorating goes fairly easy in ALO. All one has to do is hold something up to the wall and then press a button on the menu to say that it was where you wanted it. You take care of the wall decorations; Lisbeth and Silica show up a little after you and insist on putting up a tree by themselves. Sinon catches your eyes and rolls hers as Silica accidentally wrapps herself up in tree garlands. You can’t help but giggle at the sight. You’re stuck between untangling Silica and possibly taking a screenshot. In the end, Klein shows up and takes care of the issue—only to get himself stuck.
Alice and Eugeo are the next to arrive, closely followed by Agil. They get to work immediately, making sure everything is in place. By the time Kirito and Leafa arrive, most of the work was done. Sinon immediately accuses Kirito of trying to get out of sharing the work, and Asuna jumps to his defense quite calmly, saying that he wouldn’t have been much of a help anyways. Kirito looks as if he’d wilted. Eugeo pats him on the back, laughing and telling him that it was okay that he was late. Asuna shares the remainder of the holiday outfits with the latecomers, and soon, everyone is festively dressed.
The little log cabin looks splendid. You give Silica and Lisbeth a thumbs’ up for how nice the tree looks. The coffee and dinner tables both look grand, and they’d been filled with holiday-themed goodies, both traditional and ALO-specific treats. Asuna and Kirito said they’d paid for all of it. You think about how much yrd this all cost, and then you immediately put that thought out of your mind. They wouldn’t want you to think about that—they wanted everyone to have fun and spread cheer.
“Shall we propose a toast?” Agil suggests.
Lisbeth picks up a champagne glass and holds it in the air.
“Yeah, a toast!” she says. “To another year of successful questing!”
Kirito nods and picks up a glass of his own. You follow suit, and the others aren’t that far behind.
“It’s been a long year of adjusting,” he says. “But we’ve all come to appreciate this world as our own as much as the world we were born in. This holiday season, let’s just be grateful that we can be ourselves in VRMMOs freely.”
Sinon rolls her eyes.
“And cheers to the increased drop rate for the holiday event,” he throws in at the end.
Lisbeth snorts and starts laughing.
“Kiritooo,” she says. “Be serious!”
Asuna jumps in before Kirito could make things any less serious.
“Alright, everyone!” she says. “We’ve got the savory foods ready on the big table and the sweet ones are in here on the coffee table! Please, do, take as much as you like! There’s plenty for a few more rounds of completely filled plates! And drinks are in the kitchen!”
Not a word more needed to be said. Everyone hurries to grab a plate, and you find yourself trying to decide what all to try. The traditional treats could be found offline, but they were sure to be great, since Asuna most likely made them with her high cooking skill. On the other hand, the ALO holiday-themed treats were probably unique and interesting in their own right, and you’d never be able to recreate those in the real world—at least, not without some help from a decent cook friend, that is. In the end, you try to take a little bit of everything. After all, your virtual stomach doesn’t fill up the same way your real one did. You’d be safe trying as much food as possible.
You take a seat on the long futon in the living area, seated between Lisbeth and Sinon. Lisbeth, like you, has filled up her plate with everything she could fit on it, while Sinon has selected a few things and separated them evenly on her plate. You look across the room to see Kirito with an equally stuffed-looking plate in his usual place in the rocking chair, and Yui is seated on his head eagerly downing a gingerbread cookie. Asuna sits down beside them in the chair, and across from you, Leafa, Alice, and Silica take up the opposite futon. Klein and Agil have cornered Eugeo to ask him questions about life in the real world. Everyone seems excited and talkative.
“So, are you ready for the big New Year’s Eve quest?” Lisbeth asks you.
Nodding, you smile at her and tell her you’re making sure to have the whole night clear in order to come and complete it.
“It’s gonna be great!” she exclaimes.
Sinon chuckles and shakes her head.
“I think the eggnog is getting to her head, don’t you?” she asks.
You laugh and shake your head. Lisbeth is always easily excitable at these kinds of gatherings. You’ve been with this group long enough to know it’s just the spirit of being together that gets her going. You ask them if they’ve got any holiday plans with their families. Sinon is staying by herself. Lisbeth’s family is throwing a big gift exchange party, which apparently is mostly gag gifts for laughs. In turn, they ask you what you’ve got planned, and you tell them what your family plans to do and which parts you’re excited for and which you aren’t.
Asuna comes over and asks you if you’d like a refill on your drink. You nod and thank her as she pours you some more. It’s warm and smells delicious. It isn’t what you were drinking before, but you’re excited to drink it. Bringing it to your lips, you taste something spiced with a little tinge of apple. It’s a bit like a cider. Lisbeth sees the look on your face and excitedly leans over to ask Asuna for some of the drink. The drink, which Asuna calls Undine Spiced Wine, is a big hit with everyone in the group. By the end of the night, there’s not a drop left.
No one wants to leave, of course. There’s a bit of chatter—maybe on the actual date of the holiday, there’ll be a gift exchange. The rules are simple; the item has to cost two thousand yen or less. Kirito says everyone can meet at his house. Anyone who hasn’t been before should text him for the address. As your friends start to log out, you tell them to have a happy holiday as you tell each one goodbye. Finally, it’s just you, Asuna, and Kirito there. They turn to you and ask when you’re planning to log out. You tell them you don’t want the holiday party to end.
“Don’t worry, it’s not really the end,” Kirito says. “We’re just pausing to sleep before resuming at my place in a few days. You’ve got the address, right?”
You shake your head. You’ve only ever met up with them online.
“Oh, my bad!” Kirito says. “I’ll text it to you as soon as I log out. I look forward to seeing you! Bring something really fun! I know I’m hoping Klein will open the gag gift I’m bringing!”
Asuna jabs him in the ribcage.
“Kirito-kun!” she says. “You bring something nice!”
You laugh and thank him, telling them both that you’ll see them at school. You log out and return to your bedroom, hearing only the running heat. It sounds like your parents aren’t home just yet. You take off your Amusphere and roll over to see your phone lit up with the message from Kirito. It’s his address. You smile and clutch the phone to your chest.
The holidays have only just begun.

The Warmth Provided (3)
Type: Fluff, Angst, Crack, College Au, Friends to lovers Au
A/N: Aaand the third and final part is here yayyyy. Did you guys enjoy this mini series?? I really hope you did. Small disclaimer, not all requests I receive will be as big as this! It’s not a real fic if Jackson isn’t in it (i’m kidding) but dang Sungjin really went for it. As my friend Bun said, someone bring a mop bc we need to clean up the mess Sungjin made. Don’t be afraid to talk to me!!
TW: Awkward situations, cussing, toxicity and unrealistic depiction of Sungjin
Part 1| Part 2| Part 3
You got to sleep in since it was a Saturday, and you had no classes on Saturdays. You woke up a little past noon feeling as energized as you had in a while. For the first time in a long time, you didn’t feel tired even upon just having woken up. There was no soreness or exhaustion plaguing you. Just placidity in the wake of starting the day and anticipation for what the day bought you.
With the weekend, you finally had time to actually make yourself breakfast instead of eating cereal or nothing at all. You cooked yourself something simple with eggs, bacon, and a pancake since you very well deserved it. You hummed happily to yourself having turned on the Tv for some background noise which paired with the sizzling of the pan on the stove and the sun’s light filtered through the curtains in front of the window.
You ate your breakfast calmly scrolling through the social media apps on your phone not at all in a hurry since the party didn’t start until 8. Even if you didn’t feel as tired as you did other days, it still felt good to stay at home comfortable and wrapped up in your favorite blankets catching up on your favorite show. You weren’t running all around campus and town trying to balance your school and personal life.
You eventually got in the shower staying under the warm water for longer than you had to enjoying it as the tension left your body relaxing when the drops of water traveled down the slopes of your body.
You couldn’t stop yourself from thinking about what you would say to Sungjin once you got there. Demand for him to tell you why he was acting so weird? Ease into it? Guilt him into it? You groaned squeezing the shampoo out of your hair and reaching for a towel. Having Jae there would probably distract you. No matter what, you had to avoid Jae as much as you could.
Even if he was the one that invited you, you needed to fix whatever was burdening your friendship with Sungjin. You could deal with your lovesick self later. When your brother wasn’t acting like such a stranger. An annoying stranger at that.
You stayed in your towel drying yourself off and rubbing lotion on your body. You cleaned your face letting your cleanser dry off before beginning to apply your makeup on. You went for a very light look. You were never one for heavy makeup. You did get a little creative with the eyeshadow, but you didn’t want to mess with the rest of your face afraid of smudging something.
You didn’t really do anything special to your hair. Letting the soft strands down and making it look nice enough for a party. You started getting ready a bit early since you knew you’d get stuck when it came to picking an outfit. Standing there with your closet door open in a towel with your hair and makeup done, you bit your lip cursing yourself for not going shopping earlier in the month.
Eventually you picked some leather high waisted leather shorts, a very short crop top you would never go near your father or mother with, and fishnets with black combat boots to finish the look. Looking outside your window at the trees slightly swaying you knew you’d get cold. Looking around your room you saw Jae’s jean jacket hanging off your chair.
You stared at it for what felt like an eternity hesitation pooling in your stomach, but you eventually aggressively shrugged it on, figuring you could give it back to Jae and stick it out if you got too cold. Checking the time, and you realized you had half an hour before the party started.
Shrugging your shoulders you dug through your jewelry for what might go with your look not really caring if you got there on time. You couldn’t shake off the fantasy that maybe, just maybe Jae was waiting for you. You smacked your forehead. Today you had to focus on Sungjin before things were damaged to an extent that you could not fix.
You treasured your best friend too much to let things go that far. The JYP frat wasn’t that far from your apartment. It was around a twelve minute walk. Making sure you had pepper spray in your purse you set right off feeling your phone buzz in your pocket just as you locked your door.
Bawk Bawk: You didn’t get kidnapped did you?
You: we’re gonna need at least 50k to give her back
Bawk Bawk: Haha very funny
Bawk Bawk: the real y/n would say shes worth 100 chicken nuggets
You : lol you got me there
You: im already on my way. I need to pay attention to where im walking or else im gonna end up on the opposite side of campus in the sm frat
Bawk Bawk: oh no what a tragedy. Ill miss you asking me where the food is every five seconds. Really how sad.
You: wow Baekhyun wouldn’t treat me like this.
You didn’t get to see his answer instead opening up another contact.
You: Hey Sung, im on my way to the party
Bob: ok
You stared at the little text bubble a little hurt at the indifference, but you had to remind yourself that it was just a text message. Maybe he was busy helping out with the party, even if he really didn’t like the parties, he still helped out. He was just that kind of person.
A small part of you knew that wasn’t the reason. The party had started around 30 minutes ago which meant they were past the point of setting up for the event. You were about to turn off the device when the sound of a notification broke through the silence surrounding you.
You felt the weight on your heart slight ease up, a relieved but bittersweet smile breaking on the slope of your mouth.
Bob: Be careful
Even if he was irked with you for whatever reason, he still worried for you. The short text message gave you hope. It was silly, but the two words were enough to bring a little bounce in your step, deciding that as soon as you got to that party you would seek him out, and you would do whatever you could to get to the bottom of what had put distance between you and your best friend.
You halted your stride finally standing in front of the JYP frat building. You took a deep breath shaking off the nerves and tugging the jacket tighter around you. You went up the steps knees slightly shaking. Sungjin’s message did bring some ease, but the guy could be stubborn when he wanted to. You just hoped he wasn’t stubborn when it came to your friendship. Pursing your lips you shakily pressed the button to the doorbell.
It didn’t take much for the door to swing open startling you and almost making you fall back. A hand reached out to steady you, and you looked up meeting Wonpil’s warm eyes. You smiled easily consoled by his sweet smile missing the mischievous twinkle in his eyes.
“Wonpil hi, how are you?” He softly laughed, shaking his head.
“I’m pretty sure i’m not supposed to hear colors, but i’ll get through it”
You opened your mouth cackling in disbelief as his hands probed you inside.
“Have fun, break something and you’ll pay for it and- Jackson! What did I tell you about hanging from the ceiling lights what kind of budget do you think we have man,'' you watched the small man’s frame ambling away and squinted your eyes in amusement, smiling softly. You turned to the rest of the room craning your head to look past all the swaying bodies and flashing lights for the awkward introverted man that was one of your closest friends.
Instead you caught sight of the tall fluffy haired man with glasses sliding down the bend of his narrow nose. You squeaked quickly ducking behind the frame of a stranger as Jae’s head whipped in your direction. You clenched your jaw at the almost slip up. You frowned. You wanted nothing more than to bound up to Jae and see his eyes light up at the sight of you, but you were on a mission.
You made sure you were out of Jae’s sight as you wracked your brain for where Sungjin might be. He wouldn’t be in where the crowd was bigger and packed. That immediately eliminated the living room, gaming room, and kitchen. That left outside in the patio, the restroom, or his own room. You bit your lip figuring you might as well check outside then head upstairs where both the restroom and his room were. You knew because of the many movie nights you had with Dowoon and Sungjin.
The many nights of fighting with Sungjin and him scolding you for getting crumbs on his bed only to whine when you moved to Dowoon’s bed. At the end, you always ended up on the floor in a tangled mess probably getting woken up by Dowoon snoring. You set your shoulders making your way to the kitchen since that’s where the doors to get outside were located mumbling apologies to people you bumped into.
You kept your head low mumbling under your breath about how stupid this was that you even had to do this, because for some reason, Sungjin was acting odd and detached. You entered the kitchen eyes raking over everyone's faces just in case Sungjin was there. You didn’t see him, but you saw the other part from your trio. Dowoon was talking to Bang Chan with a relaxed smile on his face and a drink in his hands.
Maybe he knew where Sungjin was saving you the trouble of looking for him. You started walking in his direction, “Hey Woon, I wish I could stay and talk, but do you know where Sungjin is?” Dowoon narrowed his eyes at you, as you smiled in greeting at Chan.
“Not even a hi wow, i thought you were better than this. I thought we had a special bond” he clicked his tongue acting annoyed but still reaching out to you pulling you into him for a side hug. You huffed poking harshly at his side, snickering when he whined and recoiled.
“Fine you brat, he just went upstairs to get something from his room. Here, I'll come with you. I need to go to the restroom anyways. Sorry to cut this short, but i have to make sure she doesn’t do anything stupid” he put his drink on the kitchen island, and you and Chan looked at each other shaking your heads both knowing who was making sure who didn’t do something stupid. You shrugged your shoulders wincing as Chan’s shoulders shook slightly with laughter.
You swiveled around to follow Dowoon who had already begun walking towards the stairs near the entrance of the kitchen when you abruptly came to a stop. Heading down the steps was the exact person you were looking for. Even in the shifting lighting you recognized him.
You called your best friend’s name already striding towards him and reaching out towards his frozen frame. He looked shocked to see you, his eyes troubled and eyebrows pulled together looking distressed. His body shifted back as if he was contemplating running back up the stairs.
Your hand managed to grasp the end of his shirt. “Sungjin-” you were interrupted by a wobbly yell from the living room. “Seven minutes in heaven time ladies and gents. Don’t be shy, half of you won’t even remember this ever happened,” the awfully cheerful voice that sounded suspiciously like Younghyun somehow managed to be louder than the talking and blaring music.
You turned back to Sungjin but both of you were suddenly being pulled to the living room by Dowoon who simply said “This should be funny. Let’s go watch” you tried resisting and talking to Sungjin but he was also too busy trying to fight Dowoon’s hold on him.
You were sat down on one side of the circle in between Dowoon and Sungjin. It all happened so fast you looked at Sungjin and tried getting his attention but was stopped by someone looking at you from the corner of your eye.
You swallowed feeling your heart sink slightly being able to distinguish Jae’s form even from your limited sight. You slowly turned your head in his direction offering him a quivering smile wondering just how everything had managed to get messed up in such a short amount of time. He titled his head obviously confused at why you hadn’t told him you had arrived but still managed to grin back at you causing you to feel slightly bad.
Even after the small greeting, his gaze didn’t leave you, but you were the one to break eye contact first turning to the man on your right. You gently grabbed his arm pulling at his sleeve to get his attention. He gradually turned his head to look at you, sad dull eyes looking into yours.
“I need to talk-” you were once again interrupted by Younghyun’s voice calling the turn of the first player.
Jae.
You felt yourself halt all movement, air leaving your lungs. You whipped your head around in his direction watching him roll his eyes at Wonpil’s light teasing. You could only focus on Jae as he slightly leaned to get closer to the bottle reaching out for it with a focused expression.
His eyes briefly flickered to your wide ones before going back to the bottle hesitating slightly before spinning it. You had completely forgotten about Sungjin who was also watching the bottle spin with baited breath gaze landing on your form to take in your reactions.
Your heart skipped a beat everytime the bottle pointed it’s devilish finger at you while on the move. Of course, you wanted it to be you, but there was so many people in the circle the chance of the stupid bottle landing on you was close to none. Suddenly Younghyun pushed Wonpil into the circle making the smaller man stumble and put his foot in the bottle’s path while trying to regain his balance.
Wonpil’s interference made the bottle come to an abrupt stop pointing solely at one person.
You.
You felt your entire body go cold taking in a shaky breath and meeting Jae’s own wide eyes behind the rims of his glasses. You felt your face grow hot seeing Wonpil and Younghyun high fiving each other in the background. You wanted to laugh at the clicheness of it. It seemed everybody had known you and Jae were in love before you and Jae.
You looked at Dowoon and Sungjin unsure of your next actions. Dowoon simply smirked at you wiggling his eyebrows and giggling under his breath while Sungjin’s face became hard to read eyes flashing with unknown emotions. So much for the help of your best friends.
You heard a clearing of a throat gaining your attention and making you jump at seeing Jae had already stood up brushing himself off. He playfully smiled at you shaking the messy blonde hair out of his shining eyes and holding a unsteady hand out to you.
You slowly stood up on trembling knees not being able to concentrate on the shouting from the people in the circle. Your vision felt hazy not really being able to believe what was happening. You put a hesitant hand on his, feeling his hand wrap around yours warmth instantly seeping in from his touch traveling up your arm through your whole body.
You couldn’t lie to yourself. You were terrified of what would happen in that closet. What if he just told you he didn’t want anything of that sort to do with you and you had to sit in awkward silence for several more minutes holding in your tears and rejected by the very person you had fallen in love with at a dumb party game.
He took in the fear and worry swimming in your eyes gripping your hand tighter. His head tilted, smiling softly at you and opening his mouth to say something, but his words were robbed from his throat when his eyes took in something behind you. You felt your hand get taken in an uncomfortably tight grip, the hand tugging you backwards making your hand slip from Jae’s loose warm one.
You swiveled around getting met with the sight of your best friend. His eyes were narrowed and his jaw was set.
“You can’t play this stupid game with her. You won’t be taking her into that closet, not while i’m here” his tone was bitter and harsh. You tried shaking your hand out of his grip, but his clutch on you grew tighter making you cry out and start slapping your hands on Sungjin’s chest.
Jae instantly reached out for your thrashing figure only for Sungjin to pull you out of his reach. Jae scoffed anger staining his once bright brown eyes a darker shade. “Sungjin, what do you think you’re doing man. Let her go before and we can solve whatever is going on without throwing her around like this. Who are you to-”
Sungjin cut him off with a growl.
“Her boyfriend”
You felt an icy feeling expand from your core to your fingertips having stopped moving in Sungjin’s hold. “What the hell Sungjin what are you talking about you asshole-” you turned around and seeing the look on Jae’s face you trashed around harder having to slap at Sungjin’s hands to break free of his clasp.
His eyes went from Sungjin’s guilty face to your own angry confused one. The crease between his eyebrows deepened, mouth letting out a disbelieving exhale and shoulders slumping in disappointment. He started backing away shaking his head and looking at you in a way he had never looked at you.
In anger.
You tried reaching out towards him voice shaky when you called out to him. “Jae no, you have to listen to me I have no idea-” the rest of your words didn’t get to reach him, Wonpil and Younghyun both blocking you from getting any closer to his retreating figure. Both looked at you with cold expressions and you remembered other people had also just witnessed you going into an intimate space with a man when you already had a supposed boyfriend.
You felt embarrassment and shame flood your chest twisting uglily around your lungs and squeezing. Now you were only aware of the whispers and glares circling around your lone figure. You swiftly turned around to face Sunjin, head bent not being able to meet your heated gaze.
You briefly looked at Dowoon who was as equally shocked as you were.
You hissed Sungjin’s name huffing when he still didn’t look up tightly wrapping your arm around his wrist and dragging him up the stairs to his room blinking away the tears from the sheer humiliation coursing through your system.
Sungjin tried sputtering out your name, but you paid no attention not stopping in your stride until you reached his room on the second floor and pushed his body out into the balcony connected to his room.
You instantly exploded, voices coming out in rapid angry waves.
“What the fuck was that Sungjin what did you just- Do you know what you just did” your voice was desperate frustrated tears making your eyes watery.
“I’m so sorry-”
“No! No Sungjin, you don’t get to apologize until i know what you’re apologizing for” you set your teary eyes on Sungjin who finally looked up, for once, face open and flooded with guilt and regret.
“I panicked, and I know there is no excuse for what i just did, i just- I don’t know these past few days…”
You let out a thwarted groan. “That’s exactly the problem idiot, I have no idea what’s been going on with you these past few days. You never told me anything”
He closed his eyes as if physically pained turning around to lean on the railing of the balcony and burying his head in his hands. You also felt all energy seep out of your body, slumping dejectedly next to him. You looked at him resting your arms on your arms which were resting on the railing.
“Please tell me, what made my best friend and brother suddenly claim he’s my boyfriend right in front of my crush of years”
You saw his facial expressions twist in a wince, finally taking in the consequences of his panicked words.
He looked at you, mouth pulling into a guilty smile.
“Your brother fucked up pretty bad didn’t he peaches?” You nodded at him.
“Why Sungjin, why did you do that?”
He looked up at the sky taking in the ugly clouds blocking the stars. You simply looked at your hands, sadness making your limbs feel heavy.
“I felt like I was losing you, that’s why” You pouted in confusion. “Why would you ever think that? You know I depend on you a lot Sungjin, this doesn’t-” you stopped at his defeated sigh.
“It has always been you, Dowoon, and I, but out of nowhere you started hanging out with Jae. I don’t know why, but i felt threatened by that. I mean, you even lied to me about where you really were when you hung out with him at that noodle place”
Your jaw dropped. “How did you-”
“I saw you guys on my way to buy Dowoon a new game controller” he chuckled and shrugged. “I didn’t say anything. It’s not my place to, but then I found out he liked you too, and to me, the chances of you completely forgetting about me for him skyrocketed” Your knees buckled and you had to grip the railing to remain standing as you gasped and sputtered. “He what-”
Sungjin paid you no attention simply nodding like the fact the person you had feelings for returning said feelings was no big deal. You whined and stomped your feet because what did it matter now. Any chance with him was blown. Sungjin continued.
“You wouldn’t need me anymore if you had him. You wouldn’t need your big brother anymore if you had him. You would forget all about me. I mean, why wouldn’t you? You’ve liked him for so long, and i’m just...me”
You inhaled a large breath, hand resting on your fast beating heart at all the newfound information. “Can I talk now?” He waved his hand in a way that said “go on”.
“First of all Sungjin, you’re the one who’s always told me to come out of my shell and to talk to more people. Ever since high school, you’ve been telling me to spread out and get more friends. Why are you being like this when I actually did what you said and started talking to others. Will you behave this way every time I grow close to someone else? It was wrong of you to tell me something and act this way when I listened to your advice. It was especially wrong of you to just stand there and declare you’re my boyfriend, you had no right to do that” He hung his head seeing the truth in my words. “Well?”
He set his mouth in a straight line nodding. “I- You’re right, you’re completely right. How could I be such a hypocrite” He scoffed at himself chuckling lowly at his own stupidity. “I guess I just got scared.”
You narrowed your eyes at him still not being able to believe he would actually think you would up and leave him. “There comes my second point. Sungjin, how could you ever believe I would just forget you. Do you doubt me that much? Doubt our friendship that much? Our friendship of literal years”
He stayed silent. “Do you hear how stupid it is now?” He nodded his head once hands fiddling nervously.
“You are someone I value very much, but that doesn't mean you’ll be the only person to hold so much importance to me. It doesn’t put you in any position to be able to act like you own all my attention and friendship.” He once again nodded silently guilt swimming in his irises.
“I was in the wrong and for that I’m sorry peaches. I realize now that you will continue to grow and gain new people who you will bond with. You will get hurt, but that’s not something I can control nor that I can stop and unfortunately, neither can you. I can only be there to bring a smile back on your face, and i’m perfectly fine with that” he acknowledged, the corners of his lips slightly pulling up in a melancholy smile.
You felt all tension leave your body finally feeling like you had your brother back. The same one you had always confided on. You no longer felt like the air around you was pressing in on you, slowly stealing the remaining oxygen from your lungs.
He turned towards you and looked up before looking at you and opening his arms. “I’m sorry.” You didn’t really hesitate stepping into his embrace. “I’m still mad at you” you grumbled into his chest. “I know peaches, I understand. It’s okay” He laughed softly against your hair. “I’ll make it up to you. I promise. I’ll be better” You believed, of course you did. He was your brother, your closest friend. An irreplaceable part of your life who had made a little slip up, well maybe a big slip up, but you still forgave him.
“We should have done this a long time ago” you muttered against his jacket.
“What?” he questioned. “Talked. So much could have been avoided if we had just talked” Sungjin hummed in reply both of you knowing you each had some fault in that.
You remembered Jae’s disappointed stare, his lips pressed together in a tight line as he got farther and farther away from you. You played with one of the threads from the jean jacket you were wearing feeling helpless in the answer of what to do to gain Jae’s forgiveness. At this point, you didn’t think there was a chance of being anything more than friends with him. You didn’t feel like you deserved him just wanting to explain to him that what happened wasn’t his fault.
You just wanted him to smile again. You wanted him to be happy. You would feel lucky just being his friend again. You expected nothing more if you were honest with yourself.
You lightly hit Sungjin’s shoulder exaggeratedly groaning. “How am I gonna explain this to Jae” your voice was muffled by his jacket but he simply laughed again, “I don’t think you have to”
“What are you talking about you-” Shock hit you like a truck when you remembered him looking up while he was apologizing. Something told you he wasn’t just apologizing to you. You looked up at the balcony above the one you were standing on seeing a head of fluffy blonde hair blown all over the place from the wind and a grin aimed at you.
“Jae! Did you- Did you hear everything?” You couldn’t help but to smile at the loud laugh that rang throughout the night air. “I don’t know, why don’t you come up and find out?” You breathlessly looked at Sungjin who smiled softly at you pushing you back into his room.
You didn’t look back as you exited his room walking back up the stairs with a trembling but hopeful heart. You came across what you knew was Jae’s room after having to drag him to it from when he got a really bad stomach ache. You knocked on the door mentally preparing yourself for whatever you were about to hear.
A soft stifled “come in” was heard from inside the room. You opened the door, eyes immediately landing on the figure that was on the balcony leaning on the railing and looking up at the sky. You walked towards the balcony, your breath rattling in your throat. You opened the door that led out to the balcony shakily calling his name.
He stayed silent as you came up next to him, also tilting your head up and getting taken aback by the twinkling stars appearing at the parting of the clouds. The quiet preserved, and your mind was only really able to focus on his arm brushing against yours and your heart pounding in your ears. You fiddled with your hands picking at your nails jumping at the sound of Jae suddenly laughing.
“A few minutes ago I thought I was the stupidest man on earth” You didn’t really know what to say in reply to that just turning your head to look at him as a sign you were listening.
“I mean imagine the feeling of finding out you had been writing cheesy love songs about a person only to find out they were with someone else the whole time” you opened your mouth to retaliate, but he turned his head to look at you with a soft knowing smile. “I know, I know now, you’re just friends” He turned to look back at the night sky, the smile still not leaving his face.
You were still shocked at the fact that some of the songs you had seen him diligently working on next to you in class could have been about you. Words of love and admiration from him written right next to you, and you were none the wiser.
You felt like all the words you could say in that moment, just weren’t enough. Instead, you reached out to fix his glasses which had gone askew only to gasp silently when he grabbed your wrist looking at you once more. “You know, there were times where I felt lesser than him. He had known you since you were around the height of my knee, and had grown up with you. Who was I to him” He admitted wearily smiling at you.
You leaned in slightly letting your hand move to firmly grip his maintaining eye contact as you got ready to speak. “You? You are Jae Park. The stupid, goofy, lovely, hard-working song writer who has never failed to make me happy and take care of me. Who always bought me food thinking of me, and who never hesitated to be self-less at the expense of myself.” You faltered, licking your lips anxiously for what you were about to say feeling your whole body grow hot.
“You are Jae Park, the person I'm hopelessly in love with,” you confessed breathily watching him lean closer to you, lips pressing to your forehead while he laughed happily against your skin, hands traveling up your arms to gently cradle your face.
“What were we doing all this time? I guess the starbursts really did a number of us if we’re both so in love with each other and didn’t notice” he murmured lips traveling down the space between your eyebrows to the slope of your nose forehead now resting against yours. His glasses were pressing uncomfortably against the bridge of your nose, but you didn’t really mind too caught up in the feeling of his body pressed against your as your hands moved to clutch at his shirt.
We’re together now” you whispered lips slightly brushing against his. He smiled adoringly at you before leaning in to close the gap lips softly slanting his lips against yours as if testing the waters before growing more eager and tilting his head to grow impossibly closer to you still softly parting your mouth with his. The kiss remained soft and innocent, unspoken words after months of pining, and delicate confessions of love expressed. The warmth from one simple kiss traveled all the way to your heels spreading in a tender but passionate manner.
You separated, catching your breath, his hands still cradling your face before he leaned in stealing a peck and chuckling when he pulled back.
The wind grew stronger whipping at your hair and clothes making a small shiver travel down the spine and forcing you to snuggle his jacket tighter around you clearing your throat and smiling like an idiot. One of his hands left your face to tickle you, smile getting bigger at your loud laugh.
“Nice Jacket”
“Thanks, I wanted to give it back to it’s handsome owner” He bought you closer wrapping his arms around your form, hair tickling your temple and his nose pressing into the crook of your neck.
“The handsome owner thinks you look 100 times better in it than he ever did, Kim Kardashian could never”
You laughed into his shoulder thinking you would be fine without the jacket believing the warmth provided from his simple touch was enough to keep you warm in the coldest of nights.

MoominTales Chapter 2
The Phone Call
(Link to family tree)
Sans was enjoying a nice cup of tea when the phone rang, and the hysterical voice of Moomin shattered the silence.
“Slow down there, chap,” He said, gently placing his tea back on the counter. “Tell uncle Sans what’s going on.”
He wasn’t really Moomin’s uncle - not exactly. But he had married into Moomin’s family when he wed Toriel last year. And Toriel was Moomin’s aunt, which made him Moomin’s uncle by marriage.
His nephew’s voice rose to a pitch that only dogs could hear.
“SDKL:FL:SJ:S SNFUKFINKINS:LKFJL!” He sobbed.
“Once more,” Sans said. ” Slower this time.”
“SnufkinsdlflAnimalCrossingd;faf;lk;ak;sdl;Playing;djd HE WON’T EVEN LOOK AT ME!” Moomin screamed.
“Oh no, relationship troubles, buddy?” Sans was sympathetic. He was having relationship troubles of his own.
Not Toriel, no, their marriage was a skeleton’s dream. But it was her family. . . they were having a huge dinner next week for the holidays, and he was anxious as to how he would be received.
He had only met a few people from her family - Moomin’s other aunt, Moomin Papa and Moomin Mama, and Moomin, of course. And his nephew’s eccentric boyfriend.
They were all very sweet, which made him very anxious. He was worried that his strange family would not be accepted.
“Invite everyone from your side!” Toriel had said, excitedly. “I want the Bonesmiths, the Asgores, the Moomins, and the Mymbles all together for our celebration!”
And he could not refuse her, even as her son spat at him from across the table. “Guess you’re gonna have to rob the cemetery, HUH Sans?!”
Asriel was not very happy about his new stepfather.
But Sans was letting himself be distracted from the real issue - his wonderful, sweet nephew’s deteriorating love life.
“Awh, buddy, I’m sure that he still loves you very much! He’s just a little bit hyperfixated right now,” Sans reassured.
“But- But it’s been over a month-” Moomin whimpered. “And the closest that we have gotten to a date was when he invited me to watch Raymond dance to K.K. “Bubblegum” with him.”
“Does he still message you?” Sans worried, suddenly very angry with his nephew’s boyfriend. He understood obsessions (especially with his brother Papyrus), but this was ridiculous.
“He texted me this morning to say that Joan was having a really great sale on turnips,” Moomin sniffled.
“Moomin. The turnips are only 89 bells today. A very good deal, Moomin.”
That was just not good enough.
“Okay,” Sans said. “You need to have a serious conversation with him. Go over to his house tomorrow and explain that you’re feeling isolated and ignored. And if you need me to, I can have a talk with the guy myself.”
“No, that’s okay,” Moomin said, perhaps a little too quickly. And it did make Sans’ heart sink a little.
You wear crocs to a wedding one time and suddenly you’ve lost face with the young ones forever. Never mind that it was his own wedding, he was as hip as the day was young.
Pun intended.
But perhaps Moomin should handle this himself, it was important for their relationship and it would help his sweet nephew grow a little too. Learn to fight for what he deserves.
“I’m feeling a little bit better,” Moomin sniffled. “Are we still on for the Harvest Festival?”
“Of course!” Sans said, fighting the wave of anxiety that suddenly washed over him. “Are the Mymbles coming?”
“I-I think so.” Moomin said. “When he was still talking, Snufkin told me that he was having trouble getting the invitation to his father. Apparently he kept shredding it. But he promised that they would come.”
Moomin brightened a little. “I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone. You’re bringing your entire family, right?”
Sans knew that he would never be able to escape this topic. His bones were as good as ground.
“Of course!” He said. “My family will be there, and all of us are rooting for ya, kid.”
“I love you, Sans,” Moomin sniffled, and his heart surged.
“I love you too, kid. You take care of yourself.”
If only his step-son were as affectionate, Sans thought, when he hung up. God, if only the rest of his own family were as sweet as Moomin’s family. He doubted that there was a bad bone in the entire Moomin line.
His own, on the other hand. . .
Which reminded him, he had to check in with them.
Papyrus swore that he would be there, but Sans was concerned about his other brother. His half brother, burden of his existence, destroyer of all family gatherings. Elegant enough to never wear crocs to a wedding, but jerk enough to never stop talking about it, either.
Awh well, it was better to get this next phone call over with.
The phone rang exactly 6 times before it was picked up.
“Bill? Bill Cipher? Are we still on for next week?”

Encounter
Words: 2,6K
Pairing: Jin x Reader
Genre: Fluff, Slice of life, Stranger to lover (?)
Summary: You will never know when and where love comes to you. Moreover when it comes from a perfect man that everyone adores.
Note: I’m surprised myself when writing this short fic of Jin. I didn’t expect the story to be like this haha. I write this for Jin’s birthday which is next week!!! And this is my first time to write after a looooong time so I hope it’s not too awkward.
Dani: Are you free today?
The very first message I check in the morning comes from my best friend. I make sure that today is Saturday before I send a reply.
Me: Yeah. Why?
Dani: I bet you haven’t check the group chat yet. Seonho asks us to meet today, reunion with hidden agenda I guess.
I open an active group chat consists of my high school friends. We actually don’t talk often but we always give each others’ updates to maintain good relationship. I scroll a little bit because everyone is sending message. When I see a picture, I finally understand the hidden agenda Dani’s told me just now. Seonho is getting married. Seonho, my biggest crush during high school.
**
“Are you coming?” Seokyung & Dani are on the way to the café. Some of friends will meet today, for the sake of reunion, and for early celebration of Seonho’s wedding. These girls have been my up and down when trying my best to keep my secret crush hidden. I’ve said to them many times that the silly crush is gone now, but I can’t lie that something does feel strange. And now they unnecessary worry about me.
“Of course. Call me again when you arrive, I’m at the nearby park.”
“Going out with your camera again?”
“Yes. I don’t want to waste a good day like this”
“Okay. Don’t stay under the sun too long”
I walk around the park, following the line of trees. It’s getting warmer as welcoming spring season but sometime the wind is still too cold for me. I take some pictures when find something that catch my eyes. It’s always entertaining to watch people’s interaction. I often sit alone and enjoy the breeze. It helps me clearing my mind when days feel too rough. Sometimes, I get bonus to see beautiful faces for my camera to catch. Just like that one particular man who just walks out from the café. He must be model or actor to have that gorgeous face and perfect proportion.
I take few pictures of him. I know they will turn out good even though I don’t take its properly. It’s surely not because I’m a good photographer but the object. It makes me smile. It will be nice to get this kind of pictures every time I shoot.
*Dani calling*
It’s time to be back to reality.
I make a promise earlier that whatever happened today it won’t break me down, not again. I might like him in the past but it’s all in the past. He will forever see me as a friend and I know that from the very start. I know it well. But it’s just I get a closure that I needed today when I get his wedding invitation. I can hold it well in front of him and my friends. But somehow, a tear escapes from my eye.
I look at the film camera I bring today. I want to make memories with them, with Seonho too, using his camera so I cannot have second thought after the photo taken and delete it. This should be one of ways for me to toughen myself and be true to my own words. I’ve done liking Seonho and only see him as a friend.
I still have 5 frames to go. I take a deep breath and snap a shot of the upper part of the building together with the clear sky. Long sigh comes out, I really don’t want to cry but it keeps falling.
“Are you okay?” asks a man from a bench away. It startles me and surprisingly stops me from crying.
“I know it’s not my business but I think you need this” says the man who is standing a step away. I look at him while wiping the tear stain.
“I’m fine”
“I just purchase it from the vending machine if you don’t believe me. I don’t have any bad intention. I just feel bad to see you sad and this sweet drink should make you a little bit better”
He is very good looking. No, extremely handsome. He surely has his way with words but I still keep my guard up. These days, many criminals disguise as kind looking or educated person.
“You can take a picture of me as proof later on, if I really do something bad to you”
He, once again, push the cold drink to me and back to his bench again. He opens his bottle and drink it like a commercial. I can’t help a small smile when see him do that. He is surely a weird guy.
“I’m ready to pose if you really want to take a picture though”
“Okay, just in case”
I bring my film camera to my eyes and capture a very clear shape of his face.
“One more with your phone. You can send it to your friend ‘just in case’ I steal your phone later” he says while striking another pose. I shake my head. I do not expect laughing at the very moment.
I fulfill his request to take his picture with my phone camera and show him the result. I really hope he is not a bad guy because it will be a shame for his beautiful face and such a wit.
“Thank you” I say to him before drinking. My heart feels a little bit lighter than earlier.
“Will you post you pictures online? Hmm maybe on instagram?”
“I don’t know”
“I give a permission to post my pictures on your page then, no need to thank me”
I laugh for the second time. This time he laughs with me. Why someone bother to stop, spend his time for a poor looking stranger and make her laugh? I mean, we are strangers, we don’t know each other, less care for each other.
He, now, moves to my bench and sit on the other edge.
“I’m Seokjin, you can call me Jin. You can to not tell me your name now, but do me a favor”
“What is it?”
“When I find you, I mean my picture on your SNS, you cannot decline my offer for coffee or dinner if you don’t drink coffee”
“Okay”
“Be prepare for our second date” he says before leaving me all smiley on the park.
When he’s far enough from my sight, I just realize. He’s the man I saw this afternoon. The living sculpture that makes my pictures look better. I shake my head in disbelief. I’m expecting our next meeting to come.
10/10
This is the last picture of my happiness project. A pleasant encounter. Thank you.
seonho__kim Oh? Who’s this? You hide your new boyfriend from me?
kyungie_SK YOU MEET HANDSOME MAN IN SECRET!? WHATTA BESTFRIEND!!
DDDani is he… Jin sunbae? You two ...?
KSJin92 I cant tell which one is better, the photographer or the model, should we discuss it over a coffee? Or dinner? Your call.
The minute after I post Seokjin picture, everyone’s being wild. My bestfriends are being so loud on our private group chat. Sending all text in capital letters, sending all threating meme stocks they have on their phone. They demand me to explain in details how, when, why regarding Seokjin. I have to ignore those texts as I have to back to work. I know once I start replying them, they will never let me to stop until they satisfied. I receive DM notification from the source of this phenomenon right before I out it back to my pocket.
Jin: I know I offer coffee or dinner, but I wait for a long time just for coffee.. I know this Japanese restaurant that has superb menu and deserves all those Michelin star, so… will you be free on tomorrow?
Me: That sounds very promising and I have no reason to refuse, don’t I?
Jin: Great. 010 XXX XXXX This is my number, text me your office address and I’ll pick you up. See you soon ;)
Right after works, Seokyung and Dani ask me to meet them in chicken restaurant near our highschool. It’s our favorite restaurant to go whenever we want to fulfill our stomach while gossiping.
“I don’t believe how small this world is. How can you and Jin sunbae meet? He is ‘the sunbae’ I told you guys before” Dani seems excited and amazed at the same time. Dani works at the finance consulting company for 2 years now and Seokjin is his senior in different department.
“The famous sunbae?” ask Seokyung. Dani nods quickly. Me and Seokyung remember how Dani describe this man to us the first week she got the job. The idol of her company, who has many admirers from intern to senior staffs.
“I met him at the park last time, we talked a little and he asked me to take his picture”
“But how? And why?”
That’s exactly my questions too. Compared to him, I’m just an average looking woman, and a stranger. He must have work with many beautiful women in daily. I shrug my shoulder to answer them.
“It just happened”
“Is he a weirdo? I know he is handsome, but it doesn’t mean he is a good guy” Seokyung states her opinion with doubtful face.
“He. Is. The. Perfect. Guy” Dani says.
“He is very kind to others, well-mannered and smart. He is professional at work, no matter how friendly he is, he will be strict to those who make mistakes. During our company’s dinner, he can make everyone’s laugh with his dad jokes. I don’t think you can fake that one, no?”
“So… it will be fine if I meet him again, right?” ask me to both of my bestfriends.
“Totally fine”
“I think so”
They answer at the same time. They look at each other and laugh.
“That’s the fastest answer I ever heard from you too”
“I wish you to have boyfriend for what.. 2 years? It’s the perfect time to start again, you know” said Dani with a smile.
I’ve tried to have romantic relationship with other men before this but it never stays long. I was happy with them, everything goes smoothly. However, at some points, we both know that I cannot love them like they love me.
“Do you think it will work out this time, with Seokjin?”
“We won’t know for sure, but we wish you to be happy”
I also wish myself to be happy, happier.
Spending time with Jin is always entertaining. He knows his choice of words will lighten up the mood between us whenever we’re going out. He never seems out of topic or makes me losing interest. When I talk, he will attentively listen. Most of times he introduces me to all of his favorite restaurants in the city. Sometimes, he will accompany me taking pictures for my new projects. We just feel very comfortable to have each other around.
“Have you tried the new ice cream parlor near your home?”
“I haven’t tried it yet but I heard it’s good. They also have opening promos this week, if I’m not mistaken”
“Then should we go there before I drop you?”
“Hmm… are you making me join your morning jogging tomorrow?”
“You can read my mind so well. I need to make an excuse so I can meet you tomorrow morning”
I hold my smile and turn my face to the window.
“Who’s taking a woman eating ice cream nearly 9 pm”
Seokjin laughs a loud. He puts the ice cream parlor’s address to his car’s GPS despite of my comment because he knows I won’t survive the temptation.
“I will let you eat the mint-choco flavor this time. How about that?”
I pretend to think for a while. We both know Jin will get what he wants, but I just want to make it looks like not too easy. I don’t want to look I like him more than I should. Considering he let me to buy mint-choco flavor after countless dates for ice cream, he must really want us to go there. He always stops me when I want to pick that particular flavor and suggest me all of other flavors before.
“Bonus. How about dinner at my place next week? I’ll show you how good I am in kitchen”
I know he doesn’t have hidden meaning in his words but I can’t help to blush. He shouldn’t know how many times I imagining to hug him. He has wide shoulder and tiny waist, deep soothing smell and a good amounts sweet talks. We always an inch away to kiss. It makes me somewhat impatient and wondering how it feels like.
“O..okay”
“Cute”
We don’t label our relationship but we are no longer stopping ourselves to touch each other with affection months ago. This time feels different from the other relationships I have before. I trust Jin from the beginning and I think I fall in love with him sooner than I expected. He, himself, is very different from men I met before but I never thought we will match very well. To be honest, I thought he’ll only play around with me. But he always proves me wrong with his actions.
Dinner at his place become a routine. He doesn’t cook every time I come over, but never let me disappointed by his chosen take-out menu. Sometimes he just wants us to watch movies with snacks. The first three dinners, he will drive me home even it’s late. But after that, he will pretend too sleepy and persuade me to sleep over. It’s not I don’t like it, but he just tortures me more than before. These days, he will just hug me once I step inside his place and won’t even let me go for more than 5 minutes. It feels like we put ourselves in internal battle, to see who stands longer in this sexual tension.
“You’re not going home tonight” he said.
“I know” I answer without looking at him.
I give up to try right after the first night I fail to force him getting up while pretend to be sleepy. I remember how cheerful he sounds when I agree to sleep over. He even let me wear his favorite green pajamas.
He pulls me closer to him till my back fully leans to his chest.
“Should I tell you my plan tonight or you already know too?”
“Hmm? What plan?”
“I call it ‘Making You Mine’ plan?”
“Making me yours?” I ask. I turn my face to see him and find him already looking at me.
We just stare to each other’s eyes for some good seconds until his eyes start to travel down. He stops at my lips and wetting his own lips. I can’t help to notice how his tongue move slowly.
“Yes. I’ll make you mine tonight” he whispers while looking back at my eyes.
My mind blanks. I can’t think other things than his lips, his body, just himself in front of me. His face comes closer and I close my eyes when I feel his soft thick lips on mine. I hold onto his arm that circles my waist.
“I forget to tell you. You’re not going to sleep either”

Premonition Chapter 1 (A Reddie Fanfiction)
Here is the first chapter based on the preface of a story that @thoughtfullyyoungduck and I are collaborating on. It’s based on the movie Premonition with Sandra Bullock. We hope you enjoy the story!. Here is the link to the first chapter.
“Dad, when is Daddy coming home?” Chloe asked while on their way to school.
Eddie leaned back in his seat, sighing from the morning traffic. He took a peek at the digital clock. Why were they always close to being late?
“Later on. More towards the evening.” Eddie answered.
“Where’d he go?” Georgie asked curiously.
“A meeting.”
“A meeting that’s all day and all night? That’s boring!” Chloe moaned, turning up her nose.
Eddie smiled. “No. It was a meeting that was talking about a possible new show opportunity your Daddy might have,” he explained, nearing the school. Cars honked around him to move away from the sidewalk so they could drop their children off. The crossing guard warned impatient parents to calm down. Same events every morning.
“Why couldn’t we go with him?”
Eddie tapped his fingers along the steering wheel, nearing closer. “It was his business. It would have been boring.”
“It wouldn’t have been, um... monotonous!” Chloe said, shuffling through her spelling words. “I think it would have been entertaining if we all went!”
Eddie smiled again, ruffling his daughter's hair. She took after Eddie in vocabulary. He parked near the sidewalk and the kids gathered up her belongings.
“You studied all your spelling words last night?” Eddie asked, glancing into the back seat. Chloe always did her school work no matter what. It was Georgie who liked to slack off, trying to sneak in a video game behind his parents back.
“Yes, for a whole half hour,” he answered, looking at Eddie quickly, then back out the window. “Chloe even tested me.”
Chloe nodded. “Yeah, and he got most of the words right!”
“Great. I’ll pick you up at Auntie Bev’s and Uncle Ben’s around 4:30.”
“Will Daddy be with you?” Chloe asked, excitement bouncing in her voice.
“Yeah, didn’t he say that he’d be home before 5?” Georgie asked, scooting forward in his seat, but not too close to Eddie. He looked so excited.
Eddie kissed her head. “We’ll see.” Eddie grinned at Georgie in the back seat, knowing that he didn’t like to be kissed in front of a crowd.
“Bye! I love you!” Chloe called out, opening the front door.
“Oh, don’t forget your lunch!” Eddie yelled, grabbing Georgie’s lunch box from the back seat.
Georgie ran back, did a motion with her finger towards his head and whistled. Eddie laughed, shaking his head. Georgie was forgetful and silly like Richie.
“Come on, Georgie! We’re going to be late!” Chloe nit-picked at her brother.
“I get the front seat later today!”
“You had it twice, so I get two times, too!”
Eddie drove off, slightly shaking his head at his children’s usual bickering. It never got old. Reminded him of him and Richie. Oh, he was wondered where they got it from
It was time for the usual slow pace that dragged along each week. Passing by his former workplace on the way home didn’t help. He could go back to work, but he had the responsibility of looking after his two children. Besides, all schools kept everything on record. Including incidents.
Going home, Eddie went about with straightening up the house. Before going on a run around the neighborhood, he tended to some work. At least he could be helpful to those who had addictions like how he did recover.
Eddie just wished he could be more useful when it came to making money. After the whole incident, Richie was nothing but compassionate to him, giving him a job to help market his comedy. Steve wasn’t too fond of that, so it didn’t last very long.
It was no use dwelling on unwanted memories, so he went for his run. Not a long one like doctors ordered. Even after more than a decade later the wound that was inflicted by the evil demonic clown still hurt. Not as much thankfully. The pain was so terrible that Eddie rolled up in a ball, crying.
“Hey, Eds!” Mike cheerfully greeted over the phone once Eddie returned home.
“Hello, Mike. I was just checking in with you,” Eddie greeted circling his finger around the countertop. He could hear the ticking of the clock. It got lonely during the day. Eddie was surprised that he wasn’t used to that.
“I’m fine. How about you and Richie?”
“Fine. He’s away. He’ll be back in a few hours.”
“Can you believe it’s already Thursday? It feels like monsters are eating the days left and right!” Mike joked.
A small smile cracked along Eddie’s face. Thursday? He must have been losing track of the days. Oh, it happens to everyone.
“Have any plans for the weekend?” Mike asked.
“Nothing right now.”
“We have to get the Losers back together for a meetup! We haven’t done that in so long!”
Eddie grunted in response, somewhat sad. Something felt missing.
Once the conversation ended Eddie placed the phone back into its cradle. He noticed a blinking light. There was a message.
Pressing it, Richie’s voice played back, “‘Eds, listen,” Richie’s voice sounded tired and worn out, but nervous. What was that whirring sound in the background? “I’m sorry we didn’t leave on a good note. I want to say I’m sorry,’” There was a pause until Richie continued after sighing. “‘I meant what I said in front of the kids the other night, and I just want you to know I lo- damn, someone else is callin’ me,’” Richie grumbled partly under his breath. There was another short pause until Eddie heard, “‘Oh, it’s you -.’”
The messenger beeped. Eddie stared at the machine trying to decipher Richie’s words. What did he say to the kids? When did he leave this message?
Eddie dialed Richie’s cell phone and waited to hear back from him. Instead, he got Richie’s voicemail telling Eddie to leave a message. “Hi, I received your message. Did you try to call while I was out?” He paused, searching for something else to say. “I’ll see you soon.”
Putting it aside Eddie went and took a shower and got into something more comfortable before going to straighten up the house. He used to keep the floors cleaned for months on end never letting dirt or clothes cover it. Things have been... busy lately.
He emptied out the dishwasher and took the clothes out from the wash. Chloe’s purple shirt was nice and clean. Georgie would be happy to have his baseball uniform back. Along with Richie’s shirts, Hawaiian, or various shirts that he’d wear for his shows. Even his white sleeveless nightshirt was clean. Eddie sniffed it, stared at it, and then folded it up with everything else.
Glancing at the clock he needed to pick up Chloe and Georgie in about forty minutes. He needed to get dinner ready soon after. It just occurred to him that he hadn’t cooked in over a month. Richie had been doing all the cooking, or even getting takeout meals. It was strange that none of them noticed this, or talked about it.
Just then the doorbell rang. Odd. Who would come by at this hour?
Opening the door Eddie was met by a woman dressed in a police uniform. The sight of ginger brown hair was a direct giveaway. She looked grim. Her police hat was in her hands rather than resting on her head.
“Mr. Tozier?” she asked him.
Eddie nodded, feeling his heart pounding already.
“Eddie Tozier?” she asked again, correcting herself. Eddie just nodded.
Her face fell before she opened her mouth again. “I have some bad news,” her tone completely trailed off. “I’m really sorry to inform you but your husband, Richie, he died in a helicopter crash.”
Eddie’s heart completely shattered. Did he just hear that correctly?
“W-When?” Eddie’s voice cracked, placing his hand against his heart. It was pounding.
“Yesterday,” the officer answered.
Eddie shook his head. “No, no... that’s not... no, he j-just left me a voicemail. There has to be a mistake. Richie’s n-not...”
“There was a problem with the takeoff. You see, one of the wings was broken, but nobody noticed right before the plane took off...”
Eddie completely trailed off feeling a heavy weight on his heart. This wasn’t happening. It wasn’t. A few days ago he and Richie... saw each other. They fell asleep that night and he was gone the next morning on his trip.
A noise caught Eddie’s attention. Over in the trees, a group of birds flew away, calling out, spreading their wings, and flying together side by side.
“Mr. Tozier?” the officer asked, concerned.
“Huh?”
“Is there anyone who I can call for you? Anybody?” she offered, not wanting to leave Eddie in this state.
Eddie shook his head, said goodbye to the officer, and closed the door.
He sunk to the ground, hugging himself. His heart cracked in two. His eyes traced all around the big house trying to figure out the missing puzzle pieces. He glanced at each room from the sliding door leading outside, the kitchen with a stove, the living room. Ten years. They lived in this big house for ten years. It was much bigger when you were... alone.
“No, no... noooo..!!!” Eddie whimpered into his arms. He hugged himself, shaking. It had to be a dream. This wasn’t real. This was not his life where his beloved best friend turned boyfriend and then his husband... died. What did he do to deserve this? He was a good person!
Eddie drove off to pick up his children. Luckily Ben and Beverly were only a block away.
He parked outside the house and honked. Normally he’d go in, but not today.
His children excitedly thanked and said goodbye to Lexi, Ben and Bev’s daughter. If Eddie had noticed, Beverly waved to him. Immediate worry consumed her when Eddie ignored, barely even acknowledging her.
“School was fun today! We drew pictures! And we got to the best part of The B.F.G! Dad, did you know that Lexi has a trampoline now? We jumped so high into the air that we could’a touched the moon!”
Eddie kept driving. He was just barely holding it together.
“Dad?” Georgie asked, now worried. “What’s wrong?”
They arrived home without another word. Chloe held her dad’s hand up the walkway, tightly, and kept staring up at him. When Eddie unlocked the door his children entered first and looked all around the house. Eddie stood by the door, looking into the floor, barely able to look at them.
Finally, Chloe and Georgie approached him. “Dad, where’s Daddy?”
For a moment Eddie wished he could just lie saying that Richie drove far away, never wanting to see them again so he wouldn’t have to see his children’s complete and utter heartbreak. He immediately regret that. He promised himself he’d never be like his mother.
Bending down, he took Chloe and Georgie’s hands and looked into their eyes, tears streaking his face. “Chloe, Georgie, your Daddy has been in an accident.”
Chloe’s whole face broke. Hope still swam in Georgie’s eyes. “Is he okay?”
Eddie completely broke into tears and hugged his children close.
-
“Wow, you’re really good at drawing,” Audra Denbrough complemented Eddie’s kids as she and Bill watched her draw a picture.
“Daddy and I were still finishing it,” Chloe said, a bit calmer now. “He liked my rainbows.”
“I’m sure he did.” Bill comfortingly pat her hair. He looked over at Georgie who was very quiet. His eyes were red.
One by one, the Losers showed up at Eddie’s house. Alarmed that Eddie never responded to them, Ben called and Eddie broke down. They were over in a heartbeat. Followed by Bill and Audra who lived about an hour tops away. Not long after Patty showed up, devastated about the news. Mike was still on his way, but eventually, he showed up, tears in his eyes.
There was not a dry eye in the room. None of them could believe that they lost Richie Tozier, the trashmouth of the Losers who would never stop talking. Eventually, they all had to force the tears away for the sake of Eddie’s children. They did their best to keep the kids distracted, but it was Eddie who they were worried about.
Eddie sat on the opposite couch. A glass of wine sat untouched on the table to his side. Bill worriedly glanced at him, mainly the glass. Eddie wasn’t aware of the passing time but the wine in his glass was practically empty, lost in his thoughts. The words from the police officer echoed inside his mind. Richie. Dead.
Later on in the night, Ben and Beverly came down the stairs. They sadly sighed looking at Eddie gazing off into nothing. The Losers sat around the living room either on the couch or on the floor. They just wanted to be close to Eddie who had not said anything in a couple of hours. It was time to pay attention to him now.
Mike took away the wine as Beverly sat down next with Eddie, getting his attention.
“Chloe and Georgie are asleep,” she said, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder.
This snapped Eddie out from his thoughts. “I should say good night.”
“Oh, no, Eds,” Ben gently whispered, making him sit back down again. “They’re already asleep.”
Eddie sat back into the cushions. He felt an immense amount of anger, sadness, unfairness inside himself. He couldn’t help but feel angry with Richie. He never pictured raising his own children alone. Richie helped him along the way countless times through parenting. And it wasn’t hard to admit that Georgie was his Daddy’s boy.
His own mother destroyed him. She always lied, making him think that he was sick. Eddie was never confident about being a parent. Could he do this on his own?
“Eddie, Eddie, honey,” Beverly, her voice immediately starting to tear up. “I’m really sorry, but we should think about funeral arrangements.”
Eddie put his hand over his eyes. “I’m not ready for that.”
“No one is,” Patty assured, patting his leg. “When Stanley passed away it was very hard. You’re not alone.”
Eddie was still silent. There were no tears left in him to cry. He was completely drained from the day’s events. He couldn’t move from the couch. When they lived in their old apartment they didn’t have to go up any stairs to bed. He still missed it after all this time.
“We’ll talk more in the morning, alright? We’re going to sleep,” Bill told him. “For ‘ole time’s sake we’re going to have a camp out. We’ll all sleep down here.”
“If you need us for anything don’t be afraid to wake us up,” Mike told him with a soft smile.
Eventually, everybody went to sleep. Eddie stared up at the ceiling. Tears ran down his cheeks. He glanced at the wedding photo of himself and Richie on the table.
He picked it up and stared at the picture of him and Richie shoving cake into one another’s faces. His lip trembled even more and whimpered remembering their wedding. They had their wedding in a gazebo. It was a small crowd filled with their family and all the Losers. They had a food fight. And shared vows. They both promised to love one another forever.
Forever. This isn’t forever.
Hugging the picture frame tightly to his chest as if it were Richie, Eddie picked up his feet and curled up on the couch in a fetal position. He was off to sleep in an instant.
