am i misremembering this? i feel like there was a panic around the allister episodes that allister was going to take ash’s gengar but i dont remember if that was real or where it came from. i feel like i made that up bc this episode states outright that gengar doesnt want to leave ash’s side at all

#idk if that was a theory or not #also wow these episodes would feel much more meaningful if gengar wasnt shoved into a corner and ignored for most of the series #its always really funny when they do flashback reels meant to be super emotional but they can barely pull any good moments #bc they treated the pokemon like dogshit most of the time #and by funny i mean sad #like wow ash and gengar are so close. wish we couldve seen that outside of one other episode #echoed voice #jn lb #also god the lost potential w gengar hurts to bad. its the one abandoned pokemon where its not relevant at ALL that it was abandoned #say what you want about pignite being a charizard clone but at least it got an actual follow up and it had a consistent personality #that was clearly affected by the abandonment #gengar is mad for two episodes and then after that its just a prankster type that keeps losing #even charizards actions in os can be explained by its backstory #gengar gets nothing after its capture besides generic ‘’aw you like ash’’ comments #bc if we acknowledge that something fucked up happened to it then oughhh that might alienate and put ppl off oh noooo

He's everything to me.”#Part two of the fun part of this dynamic is that LWJ is ever so lightly self aware enough to LOATHE THIS CRUSH.#Hence why I have been marinating on this 'Accidental Lan headband miscommunication' concept.#This is how LWJ assumes that WWX knows what the band means in this AU. So the thing is I have an intent to read the scum villian novel or whatever because it sounds interesting but I keep never getting around to it because the second hand knowledge I get is so much funnier. From what I understand:

The protagonist is a redditor who said "I read porn for the plot" and then did actually proceed to do that. A type of hater never seen before. This guy also is apparently a fruit but like. He's never going to figure it out. He also dies and has the luck of becoming that shitty book he read for the plot's villian. He proceeds to try and not become a villain.

The actual protagonist of the book (Binghe???) is apparently in gay love with the protagonist. I respect the grind. Also apparently if he doesn't get with the protagonist he will tear the world asunder which. well. Is a way to deal with that.

The actual antagonist/god of the world/original shitty porn writer's name is Airplane. I do not think this is explained but he calls the protag cucumber? I don't know. People sometimes collectively call them cumplane which is funny.

I don't actually know what the plot of it is but I think someone goes to superhell or dies but they get better.

So from what I understand I should read this at some point.

man, you know, nobody asked me, but I have such conflicting opinions on some of the fat falin art, where on one hand: it's always nice to see A Fat Body in fanart anywhere + it's being done in positive ways, for funsies and on the other hand, there is something so familiar about how you are automatically The Fat One if you are a woman simply standing next to a more petite woman, bc I've had a 0% hitrate in seeing people change Marcille's body type and keep Falin's, or change both of them. it's just Falin

#it gives me a negative feeling that I seldom/never get from seeing fat art which is rare #like she's not fat out of thin air For Fun And No Other Reason and she's not fat bc of context #(out of thin air being like just picking a character you like and changing their design just cuz. yeah, i didnt watch kalos while it was airing so I dont know the details, but I did heard about how XYZ was the season where the execs were like "we're gonna finish the story we want to tell" and like, I get them rushing things because of it but at the same time, they surely took their sweet sweet time focusing on greninja that season 🤔 (as well some of the squishy/team flare arc that I think could have been made shorter to focus on Serena and Clemont)

there was some clear favoritism going on and that affected a lot of the writing :T

people love to bitch on BW, but gosh, does it set up Ash's need to get strong in Kalos (to a fault) nicely. Like, there's plenty of moments we can see that the Cameron loss did affect him.

Is interesting how you can even see the essence of "Kalos Ash" in those key moments.

I really wish people tried to understand what BW symbolizes for Ash's growth cause man, I really enjoy the arc he goes throught post DP
