How Ursa and Ozai met and divorced (and Ozais side of things post divorce)

Ozai was in a completely different major to Ursa the fact they even saw each other in the cafe was a rare occurrence but Ursa caught Ozais eye

Being the kind of guy he is he would linger and watch her because he is cooked in terms of romance

Ursa made the first approach

Seeing Ozai and Ursa interact made Ikem uneasy because of the weird energy Ozai had but he let it slide after Ursa reassured him Ozai was normal (WATCH OUT IKEM HES MR STEAL UR GIRL)

Eventually, it came down to Ozai and Ursa becoming closer and Ozai finally growing some balls and asking her out (“Go out with me” “what”)

Since Ikem and Ursa still weren’t official but they had something Ursa asked Ozai to give her time and she chose to distance herself from Ikem and go out with Ozai ( NOOOOO URSA RUN)

it eventually became an official relationship with the whole meeting parents and family fun stuff (Ursa's family thought Ozai was ominous asf but they accepted their daughter's choices with a couple of complaints)

Ursa and Ozai's years before kids were pretty good until after they got married and Azulon started to pressure Ozai into his business (politics or whatever y’all want it to be) and the pressure to have kids

Ursa could see the way it was affecting Ozai but she made no comment because Ozai was impossible to get to talk about his emotions

When they finally had Zuko it changed them both Ursa looked at Zuko with love; Ozai looked at him looking for potential (despite the fact Ozai told Ursa he wouldn't be like his father)

On Ozai's part his mental health was lowkey in the gutter (but he never acknowledged that mental health is for losers not alphas like him) and he continued to compete for Azulons position in the company with Iroh

Iroh could give less of a shit btw he’s chilling with his kid

Ozai picked up smoking/vaping but he never did it in front of Ursa because he knew she would throw a hissy fit (in his eyes)

If anything by now Ozai and Ursa were drifting but Ursa decided to have another kid to see if that would bring them together and they could be a happy family

So when Zuko was 2 they had Azula and Zuko loved his new baby sister. As the kids grew up Ozai put pressure on them regarding school, martial arts, etc…

This made them grow distant and Ursa was becoming nervous because not only were her kids constantly fighting but her husband encouraged it

She tried to give Zuko as much love as she could to combat the harsh words he would get from Ozai and Azula, but in doing that she was losing Azula

She realized the source of the issue was Azulon and Ozai. She considered maybe killing Azulon but nowadays there’s forensic science so she just filed for divorce in hopes her kids can grow up without having Ozais influence

Ozai was sure she was divorcing him because she was cheating on him with Ikem. He signed the papers but the days leading up to the divorce were him arguing and trying to make her more miserable as “revenge”

Azula was angry with Ursa because she thought she was trying to take her away from her dad and she would ignore Ursa and latch onto Ozai (Zuko would latch onto Ursa but he was still hurt that they were going to leave Ozai because that's still his dad)

When they finally divorced Ursa took her kids to live in her parent's home and Ozai would drunkenly call her yelling abt how she’s Ikem's bitch and this and that

Eventually, things calmed down as time passed and Ursa was able to kindle some sort of relationship with Azula but Zuko was a mommas boy through and through

OH I FORGOT the whole Azulon dying thing doesn't really happen bro just dies of like falling down some stairs without his cane IDK LMAOOO and Iroh recently lost Lu Ten to a car crash so he just gave Ozai the company

Ozai's side of things post divorce

Ozai continued to live in the original families house but he would pick up Zuko and Azula on weekends.

He fought for weekend custody because like hell was Ursa gonna strip him of his company heirs

His nicotine habits worsened but when the kids came he would only smoke in the car (nicotine patches inside the home)

He continued to nurture the rivalry between his kids and let them do whatever they wanted as long as they didn't burn down the house (unlimited access to everything i wonder how bad that could go)

By the time the kids reached their tween/teen years Ozai just stopped picking them up as much; Zuko would feel so much relief when Ozai would call saying he was busy that weekend (also disappointment he wanted to prove himself to daddy dearest)

Zuko gaining his scar from Ozai was more of a Ozai going into a angry fit from being talked back to while he was by a source of fire (idk a candle i rlly dont know how a hand print would appear without magic fire powers)

When Ursa found out she immediately reported Ozai to CPS but as usual CPS lets Ozai off because he is a successful man (hush money...)

Ozai isn't allowed to have either kids over at his house because Ursa does not trust him in the slightest, but Azula still asks Ozai to pick her up for the weekends (she argues with her mom on this because in her eyes Ursa is trying to isolate her)

He stays awake at night wondering what he could’ve done better but then argues with himself that he was the best Ursa was ever gonna get (pov when your insecure but full of yourself at the same time)

i spent this past weekend in california with my immediate family & my boyfriend!

i struggle a LOT with vacation depression because i constantly feel like a burden when my mom spends a lot of money on me. i feel so useless despite our agreement being that i have to attend college full time & help with my brother during the week + some weekends. i also get drained super quickly on vacations because of vacation depression. i think a lot of it comes from for me, is how glamorized vacations are in forms of media. but! enough about that.

my boyfriend flew from his area to nyc to meet us and we all left for the airport together. my mom bought clear passes for all of us so we skipped the security line all together and went straight through which will be beneficial when i attempt to go visit my boyfriend (date unknown yet but it will be sometime this year). oh my god bro jetblue SUCKS as an airline like they don’t even provide plug in earphones. we landed early friday morning & slept then we went to disney on the first day.

we stayed in glendale so it was about a fourty min drive to anaheim which was 😮‍💨 california people drive funny too . . i finally understood all the jokes about picking up people from lax and how it’s a nightmare. we went to disneyland first & did some of the rides there, until it started POURING on us. california is the first place i’ve ever seen people CLAP for pouring rain!!!! we had a dinner reservation at the princess and the frog themed restaurant & wow! the place was BEAUTIFUL!!! the food was too ass though. we ended up all having mcdonald’s in our hotel room when we got back there

the next day was my brothers birthday 🥳 🎂so we went to universal studios because his birthday wish was to go to marioland since one just opened in the states. my mom is super anti-rollercoasters (so is my godmommy) but she got on almost everything there was so that was such a change of heart because i remember i used to BEG her to ride on stuff when i was a kid & she would always refuse. we did marioland early access so we had to leave early from the hotel but we were less than twenty mins from the park. since we didn’t eat breakfast, we had food at the park & did a reservation at toadstool cafe. everyone had mario burgers but i got the bowsers fireball challenge. it was good but i wish it had complex spice? after that, my stomach felt like i ate lava. we were able to bypass a 180 min line for mariokart THANK GOD! the worker was really nice about my brother being special needs & i feel like all the workers were so nice at the parks. we had universal express for all the rides but that doesn’t work on that specific ride. we did all the rides in the park & besides mariokart, i really loved the return of the mummy ride.

after that, we went back to disney to finish the rides we couldn’t when it started raining. we started in california adventure & did everything in there! my favorite ride in there would have had to be the incredicoaster, radiator springs (we were in the winning car), & mike and sully. i temporarily lost my phone on incredicoaster messing with my lil brother bc he wanted to carry this princess and the frog themed book all day long. i HATED that damn guardians ride that my brother wanted to go on. IVE ALWAYS HATED drop rides, rollercoasters let you see what’s happening where as drop rides scare you like that shit was 116ft in the air which is nothing compared to the shit that’s on the side of kingda ka which is at the six flags near my house. that one is 416ft in the air and goes almost 100 miles per hours. i remember when i did the formula rosa in dubai’s ferrari world & that was 290 miles per hour but it was a regular roller coaster! except the part where they make u put on goggles bc if a bug hits u in the eye while ur on the ride… u will lose that eye 😭😭😭😭

then we went over to the disneyland again by the time we got over there, the fireworks show was happening. so we walked over to a small world and waited. then did everything in the remaining park except roger rabbit because it was closed which made me sad cause if you know me, I LOVE ROGER RABBIT. that’s one of my disney movies, i can quote that movie all day long & the toad ride because it broke down while we were in line and since the park closed in eleven minutes, we decided to head back to glendale from anaheim. swore i started my period on the park but i didn’t LOL. i have a doctors appointment about it … gonna make that for thursday or friday. there was nothing better than holding my sweet boy in bed. he gets along with my brothers pretty well. pretty nice to have a bf that’s loved by brothers & vice versa. i need to learn how to heal from vacay depression bc i swear my shit goes crazy every time i’m on a family vacay

In his Halloween card he was able to put up a good act and deceive some of his ex gang members into following him into the forest before mildly roughing them up (keep in mind that he has not had contact with these ppl for at least a year, yet somehow he was able to assert enough authority to tell them to follow him. Also, he thought of this plan on the spot, and acted malicious enough so that the gang members would believe in him—which proves that he's not only quick witted but a convincing actor, as Jamil actually believed his act for a while)

It's implied that he and Ace are often in leadership positions, as they helped to lead heartslabyul in designing their Halloween booth, but they also mentioned that it was much easier compared to organizing unbirthday parties

[Observation] despite wanting to be an honor student, Deuce is still able to take unjustly means to achieve his goals (EX. Making a deal with Azul to pass his test), in general, deuce doesn't care too much about the method, be it through cheating or violence to get to his goal, but he does value a fair battle

[Observation] a lot of Deuce's strengths are subtle as we are frequently told abt how much of a bad student he is, but if u rly think abt it, deuce is put in leadership positions a lot, he's good a memorization and small technical details, he can be at times quick witted and deceiving, and he has the potential to be extremely powerful in magic. In conclusion Deuce is a menace and once we find out what his unique magic is I'm 100.01% sure he will become a greater menace and I think he should fight a lot of people and win

ANYWAYS CONTEXT ASIDE- Saffron has been working there for a Pretty Long Time enough to essentially run the ground floor's cafe GNHKGH it's very busy there and they run a tight ship usually. Opal on the other hand is one of the receptionists! specifically the one near the entrance who directs u where u need to go or who to talk to about xyz. So also ... on the ground floor. The two run into each other frequently. </3 Opal is actually a p new hire since the last person in his position retired, honestly he just got rly lucky with it considering he RLY needed a job and that one just so happened to open up GKNHKGHG funny how things work out ! He had been wanting to work in the Union building for awhile now bc its "way better" than anything else. Also his last job was kind of ... not ... great ... so ... anyways!

Opal kind of has an obsession with making himself "known" and in his mind moving to work in the Union puts him on the path to do so. He wants to world to know his name and he's (slowly. stupidly.) figuring out how to get there. After all he WORKS in the SAME BUILDING the Union members show up! He's SO AWESOME AND GREAT! The Union head HAS EVEN LOOKED AT HIM ONCE! You wish you were him.

As u can tell ? Dude's got a huge ass ego and can't see around it. Does a good job he's just very annoying to deal with and Very Very Dramatic /lh Probably a theater kid. Also his name he chose (transgender babey) is actually Opulence (dramatic little shit) but he goes by Opal usually bc it was adopted after his childhood friend deemed him such after he first introduced himself as Opulence JGHGH keeping up with the musical performance theme of this universe, Opal likes to dance! Just...not in front of people...but just you wait he will still make it huge! He's great! No he will not prove it. Just trust him. He knows what he's talking about.

Saffron!! is from a large family, his mother and 5 other siblings KNGHGH (So...6 total including themselves.) Saffron is the oldest and takes care of the rest of them bc their mother is pretty sick and can't rly work- the second oldest can't hold down a job very well and mooches ... a lot ... despite being close in age to Saffron. Third oldest is trying to go to college! (First in the family to do so! Constantly stressed. Help) Then the last 3 are still in school GKNHGH 4th and 5th youngest are twins and in high school, while the YOUNGEST is in elementary </3 around 12 years old for record. Saffron consistently has their hands full with everyone and their work and his constantly doing something with no breaks. They deserve a rest. But they don't really have a chance to do so. Much like a lot of ppl in this universe they did once have a dream to become a musician- but due to dire family matters had to give it up to support them being the "eldest". Grew up too fast. oo yeah, the stark differences in eng fics on ao3 and those that i’ve read in websites like pixiv/ weibo/ lofter/ typesetters is a high-context asian subtle/implicit intimacy vs low-context western loud/explicit intimacy (1)

tho ,, i think the setting (character + environment + time) and the prompt (au? canon? romance? slice of life? epic?) play into it. i think the differences that exist between portrayals of intimacy by east asian authors and by western authors largely stem from cultural philosophy, which could make some things jarring to those unfamiliar with either

tbh i'm the type of person who, when reading lit abt supposedly asian characters, would appreciate the story more if it was also true to the characters' culture, and so i'd also like to see them experience and understand love the same way asians experience and understand love. but that's just me (i know there are diaspora who like to see other things), and that's also for a concept that's more for peaceful romance/character-centric settings. it’d be a different case if the story is plot-driven, or historical, or apocalyptic

i personally prefer the nuance of intimacy in pieces by east asians bc that's what i like to see and what i'm familiar with. but either way, i don't mind the differences exist. it just means that there's a variety to all of our experiences. as long as it's written into the narrative in an organic manner, it will still feel like a love i can appreciate, whether romantic or platonic or anything in between.

like, if they're a campus couple, pda is pretty common. handholding, picking each other up from class, study dates in the library/courtyard/cafe, going to drinking parties together, that sort of thing.

the most common petname i've heard cn campus couples use is "baobao/baobei" (寶寶/寶貝), which means precious/baby/darling. for jp couples, tbrh i've never heard anything ,, my friends and cousins don't use petnames either

honestly,,, if u're cn/jp and u're dating someone ur age or younger, u'd probs call them by their given name or a nickname with an affectionate prefix/suffix (小，阿，兒 etc or the norm ちゃん, くん, さん, 先輩/ 輩先 suffix) and ig u could call that a petname. if u're dating someone older than u, then u'd call them (insert name)-san or senpai/jie/ge if u and they want, and that would show how close u are. some ppl date and call each other by their full names, too, and even with honourifics. and some ppl use just their partner's given names.

for older couples, like married couples or people who are working, pda tends to lean towards petnames. yes!!!! there’s a lot of reasons why i enjoy stsg fics and it’s because gojo and geto are always treated like people in stsg fics.....i’ve found that in a lot of reader insert fics you could replace gojo and geto with the male lead of those mafia boss stories on wattpad and it wouldn’t make a difference LMAO gojo and geto are often caricatures of themselves and it’s just something i’m personally not interested in.

also....i feel like there’s so much intimacy in how someone calls/says your name that just using pet names 24/7 gives it this superficial sense that i’m not really a fan of but then again, in fwb stories i totally understand.

Dylan headcanons go >:) (GOD why do these take me so long to write I'm So Sorry)

- at first he just called Millie's grandpa Mr. Fitzsimmons even though he told him it was fine to call him by his first name bc he was Nervous and also his whole system had trust issues surrounding adults bc his parents s u ck but eventually he warmed up to him and started calling him by name.

- Then Dylan got a little Too Comfortable and accidentally called him "my grandpa" to a few friends at a school event Maurice had gone with Millie and Dylan to and got so embarrassed. The other kids had no idea he wasn't actually Dylan's grandpa and even less of an idea why he'd gotten so flustered when he called him such. On the car ride back he told both of them to Not Speak of It and Millie laughed but Maurice was like "alright, whatever you say Dylan" and he didn't bring it up but he was like. Does Dylan really see me as family? :))) and since that, Dylan has "slipped up" and called him Grandpa or Gramps exponentially more.

- He lives on caffeine and spicy food.

- His favorite flavor of tea is peach (he specifically buys a kind that has caffeine). He likes taking the fruity teas and putting lemonade packets in them but he also knows that's more just fruity lemonade than tea.

- He prefers Monster to Red Bull, because he has taste (/hj /lh), his favorite flavor being mango.

- When he and Brooke go out they usually just go out downtown and buy Italian sodas and chocolate from a little cafe they like or to an arcade or something similar if Dylan plans it, or to a relatively nice restaurant or thrift shopping if Brooke plans it. (Brooke is very big on thrift shopping and DIY.)

- But the more romantic of his dates with Brooke just take place at her house. They sit in her bedroom with her LEDs on giving the room a soft pink tint and watch new episodes of her favorite anime with snacks and Dylan lays with his head on her lap as she absentmindedly pets his hair, or vice versa and when she's the one laying in his lap he'll occasionally lean down & kiss her cheek and tell her he loves her, and if she's in a good mood she'll either say something like "I love you too, you big dork" or "stop being cute, I can't hear the TV" but if she's upset or something she just nods and lets him keep telling her how much she means to him.

- They invite Millie and Sarah to dates sometimes, but it always gets... a bit intense. By which I mean holed up in Brooke's bedroom, nothing but her LEDs on, blasting the room in red, shouting death threats at each other and cackling like intoxicated witches with a 2 liter bottle of Mountain Dew to share among each other as they fight to the death in Mario Kart on Brooke's TV. Every so often Brooke's mom goes up to her room and tosses in four new single serving bags of Takis. Millie and Dylan's bags are decimated in minutes. Brooke has barely touched hers. She eats one (1) Taki and then cries because it's too spicy for her. Sarah keeps pawning hers off to the others in favor of candy. She comes up 10 minutes later and Brooke and Sarah are having a Marina and the Diamonds karaoke battle. Millie is laying dead on the floor. Dylan is eating the candy. The 2 liter bottle of Mountain Dew is empty. There are Takis everywhere. How do two children go through so many Takis so quickly without even breaking a sweat. Brooke's mother lives in fear.

- They can have some nice dates though! By nice I mean they go to like McDonald's or pizza & an arcade or something and it's nice because by the end of the night no one's eaten enough Takis to burn a hole in their stomach lining, Dylan

- Yeah, next time Brooke's mom vetoes buying them Takis and just goes for Doritos

- Dylan gets Brooke hooked on Monster Energy and scene aesthetics (which she wears in pastel/softer colors). Her favorite Monster flavors are Ultra Rosa and Ultra Pink, mostly for the aesthetic of the pink ones but also bc Tastey. Mostly she sticks to her typical style and drinks Monster out of a cute pastel blue hydro flask but it's fun to experiment. (She doesn't go to school in her scene look though bc shes afraid of what her friends would think.)

- Along with being one of his best friends, Sarah gets along well with one of Dylan's very feminine alters. They let her do their makeup.

- Half the reason he bonded so much w/ Sarah was "bestie's gf! gf's bestie! Funky lady! Funky dude!! :D" and the other half was "mistreated in our youth and subsequently have a negative self image and low self respect but trying to live our best lives regardless solidarity"

- I get the vibes Dylan is queer. Hes def a little ~fruity~ if ya get me. I hc him as pan I think (as I said in my last one I also hc him using he/it pronouns but I can see him using more neopronouns too)

- He's a Leo for sure

- When he started staying at Millie's grandpa's house he would just crash on the couch at first but pretty quickly Maurice was like Nope and set him up with a room like Millie's (in that he stuck a bed in a room he wasn't using and set it up to suit him the best he could) and that was the day he mentally adopted Dylan and his whole system

- at some point Maurice offhandedly mentions seeing Dylan as a son(/grandson) and two things happen:

1) Dylan almost cries

2) He begins relentlessly teasing Millie and calling her his niece, calling her relationship with Sarah "young love" and saying stuff like "they grow up so fast" or "respect your elders" to her and she nearly strangles him

- Brooke is many things to him: His girlfriend, his second best friend, "EXCUSE ME HE ASKED FOR NO PICKLES", 85% of his impulse control, 50% of his stupid impulses, the one whose hair he dyed pink, the girl he's on the verge of getting kicked out of the popular group, the Teen He Turned Scene, the person whose contact for him in her phone is "cringe (affectionate)", the list goes on and on.
