the closer your plane got to landing, the faster your heart paced. it felt surreal, from being at home to being in a new country, surrounded by new people, and not too long after, you found yourself walking off the plane.

your relationship with heeseung was not one that everyone believed in. meeting a random guy off the internet and proceeding to date him for the next two years without physical contact?

you walk towards the boy, your luggage dragging behind you.

"y/n..." he says, quietly but sweetly. he puts the flowers and bag on top of your luggage as you let go of the handle.

it didn't take him long to pull you into a warm embrace, your chin resting comfortably on his head as you took in his warmth and scent. "it's about time," you whisper into his chest as he squeezes you.

"it's really you," he says as his hands move from your waist to your face to cup your cheeks gently. "can i?" he asks, as the tip of his nose presses against yours.

a warmth spread across your cheeks as you nodded and let out a sigh of relief before his lips pressed against yours, slightly tilting his head, deepening the kiss. "i've waited so long for this," he whispers into the kiss, not wanting to let go of you.

"me too, hee. i love you," you say as he pulls away.

"i love you most. now let's get out of here and do something fun," he says, grabbing your hand and your luggage in the other as you hold the flowers in your free hand.

you’d grown into the habit of waking up before sunrise ever since your internship began.

you left the house at six in the morning and returned after ten at night. your superiors often called you in on the weekends, but you didn’t mind being overworked.

you loved what you did and were grateful for the opportunity you’d received to prove yourself.

however, it seemed your boss had finally taken mercy on you. after working for three consecutive sundays, you’d finally been allowed to take one off.

the sun was casting a rosy hue across the sky when your eyes fluttered open. a glance at the alarm clock told you it was five thirty in the morning.

you smiled and curled against your boyfriend, burying your nose into the crook of his neck.

heeseung shifted in his sleep, pulling you closer to him and enveloping you in his warm embrace. “morning, love.”

“good morning,” you rasped, stifling a yawn. tilting your head up, you placed a soft kiss on the column of his neck. “did i disturb you?”

“not at all,” he said, allowing you enough access to continue your actions. “i’m just happy i got to wake up with you still in my arms.”

guilt twisted your gut into knots. you’d been too committed to your career to notice the state of neglect your relationship was in. you were always too exhausted after returning home to bother with anything more than kissing heeseung good night and collapsing on your shared bed.

it was time you made up to your boyfriend.

“i’m sorry,” you mumbled against his skin and pushed yourself up. he was confused for a moment, but when you climbed on top of him and straddled his lap, his lips morphed into a small smile. “i’m all yours today.”

heeseung placed his hands on your waist as you cupped his face and pressed your mouth to his.

your unbound hair tickled his face, but the only thing he could focus on was the way your body perfectly fit against his.

letting one of his hands trail up your back, he pressed you closer to his abdomen. you tilted your head to deepen the kiss and ran your tongue along his lower lip.

“you don’t have to apologise to me,” heeseung whispered when you began leaving a trail of butterfly kisses on his jaw. “never apologise to anyone for chasing your dreams.”

you paused. gazed into his eyes. saw the genuineness and love and support in them.

your heart clenched and picked up speed at the same time. you must have done a lot of good in your past life to have received such an understanding boyfriend. tears welled in your eyes.

“i love you, y/n,” heeseung said upon noticing the expression on your face. swiping a stray tear with the pad of his thumb, he continued, “and i’ll be there for you no matter what. do you understand?”

swallowing the lump in your throat, you answered, “i do.”

"as much as i like heeseung, he still loves you." she says as she plays with her fingers, "and i know it's not my place, but it seems like you still really like him to?"

you laugh, "what makes you think that?"

"i don't know, just the way you guys peek glanced at each other the whole night, it just seems all to obvious." she tells you, smiling. "i just wanted you to know that, because i'm heading out, and i think that you guys need to talk."

she was overstepping, but maybe there was truth in what she said?

you walked out the bathroom a few minutes after her just to be greeted by heeseung.

"don't you think it's a little weird to stand outside of the women's bathroom?" you ask, a little annoyed.

"want to go on a walk outside with me?" he asks.

you sigh and leave the venue to go outside with him.

"y/n seeing you brought a lot of emotions back." heeseung told you. "i know we see each other often, but when you came up to say hi, it just, i don't know."

"was one yearnot enough for you to get over me?" you ask, laughing.

"honestly, i can't even remember what we fought about." heeseung confessed, with a chuckle.

you laugh, "yeah, i guess it was kind of stupid."

"do you still think i have a place in your life?" heeseung asks nervously.

you stop in your tracks and sigh, "i don't know." you look at heeseung, "we broke up over something so stupid, and i'm just scared if we try date again we'll just end up breaking up over another stupid thing."

heeseung grabs your hands, "but maybe, we can just try."

you bite the inside of your lip, "i guess we were always a good team."

"so is that a yes?" heeseung questions.

"maybe." you tell him, letting go of his hands and walking away.

heeseung smiles, and quickly walks after you, grabbing your hand.
