charles_leclerc How I masterminded my way into catching my girlfriend by surprise with the fact that I actually am a Swiftie:
1. Adore how passionate she becomes when talking about her favorite artist
2. Let her rant about album theories, which "Taylor's version" we get next, and finally listen properly when she explains the folklore love triangle
3. Learn Taylor Swift's entire discography, from debut until now
4. Pester the whole grid in helping me get The Eras front row tour tickets
5. Surprise her with the concert tickets and just watch her have the time of her life (surprised that I know the lyrics to the songs)
6. Just when she thinks the night ends at the concert, take her to a magnificent dinner and propose using a "Paper Rings" reference.
isahernaez Oh my god the big surprise is finally here! Congratulations, you two 🥂

could you explain the mclaren reputation era please I missed it
ok well i don't really understand it entirely so bear with me here as i fumble through this.
essentially yesterday mclaren archived (deleted?) every single one of their instagram posts (and there were Thousands) except for this kind of twist trap esque video of lando, oscar and their car with the tagline "whatever it takes" like the imagine dragons song, or perhaps a 15 year old boy posting selfies of himself in the gym.
this of course is exactly what taylor swift did however many years ago right before she dropped her reputation album, archived every single one of her instagram posts except for these three videos of a snake slithering around and i don't remember what the words were associated with it but it was foreshadowing her reputation album. this was the album that she released directly after she got a whole lot of shit for her 1989 tour, took basically 2 years off and came back with some s tier bangers about how basically she didnt really care what the media thought of her, but she was reinventing herself (remember the "im sorry, the old taylor can't come to the phone right now, why? oh! cause she's dead!" meme" but essentially, it was her comeback after awhile away.
mclaren, as we know, has not won a championship since 2008 with sir lewis hamilton. their driver line up, lando norris and oscar piastri, is the youngest pairing of drivers on the grid (lando is 24, oscar is 22) and while the 2023 season for them started off absolutely terribly (their car fucking sucked) they were able to do some major upgrades throughout the season and turned it around by the silverstone race (just under halfway through the year). from silverstone on (13 races total) mclaren finished in the top 3 nine times (with both oscar and lando on the podium at the qatar and japan races) and were consistently in the points. oscar also won the sprint race in qatar. and lando had i think 17 overtakes at the mexico race, starting 19 and ending 5th. which is kind of incredible. in a season of absolute red bull domination (lets remember that a red bull driver won ever race except for the singapore race, which carlos won with the help of lando) they were consistently challenging them and there was one time in texas (i think?) where lando almost was able to overtake max.
so yes, red bull is definitely the favored team at the moment and is coming off of quite possibly the best season they've ever had. however. mclaren have some distinct advantages going into the 2024 season:
they do not have to worry about silly season. as we know, 14 drivers have contracts ending at the end of 2024 which means the absolute mad rush to resign and offer contracts across basically every team. redbull is basically guaranteed to not resign checo and might even swap him for daniel ricciardo halfway through the season whereas lands contract with mclaren ends in 2025 and oscars ends in 2026. mclaren can spend all of their time worrying about the car and the drivers rather than who they are signing.
oscar piastri. oscar just finished his rookie season (and previously won the f2 and f3 championships and won rookie of the year this year). in terms of rookie years he had an outstanding one. people compared him to lewis hamilton's rookie year. as a refresher, lewis hamiltons rookie year was in 2007 (also at mclaren) and he won his first championship in 2008. oscar is the first rookie since lewis hamilton to get multiple podiums and win something in his rookie year. expectations are running high here.
lando norris's expiring contract. as we know lando has one more confirmed year with mclaren. cel of mclaren zak brown has announced that they want to extend landos contract with mclaren, but, hes starting to get really really good, which means that a top team like red bull or mercedes might also try to get him as a driver. this is the year for mclaren to prove to lando that they can give him what he wants (which is to win a race. in his 5 years of formula 1 he hasn't won anything. and once he starts winning then hes going to want to win a championship. but. there is max verstappen to contend with). so their absolute balls to the wall tactic could work pretty well for them here. pre season testing doesnt start for over another month and they are already clearly locked in to the 2024 season.
lando and oscar actually get along. sure, formula 1 is an individual sport, but there is the drivers championship (for the individual driver) and the constructors championship (for the team with the most points). so they do have to work together. drivers not working together in the past has led to some ... undesirable results for teams (the great brocedes civil war of nico rosberg and lewis hamilton that ultimately resulted in nico retiring after he won his first championship, whatever the hell was going with max and daniel for part of the 2018 season, the french civil war at alpine between pierre gasley and esteban ocon) they are also both very consistent drivers. neither are incredibly crash prone and seem quite willing to work together on the track to optimize results.
yes they do also have disadvantages. lando has never won a race, they only have one pole position between them (lando in russia in 2021) and they're not a red bull. clearly they're the underdog in the situation. but they did finish fourth in the constructors championship in 2023 ("best of the rest") (and after basically getting next to no points for the first several races on account of the fact that their car was shit) behind ferrari, mercedes, and red bull. they're coming for the top 3 and honestly it could be their season to lose.
if ferrari doesnt change their strategy approach then they could be out of a shot at top 3. also ferrari have to deal with the nightmare of resigning both of their drivers (or finding new ones). merc and red bull will both be giving it their all (lewis hamilton really really wants to win his 8th world championship before he retires and max is well. max.) but if mclaren has a competitive car from the start of the season and doesnt have to play catch up for the first several races, then they could easily finish in the top 3.
also they released their livery today? which really confuses me (is that different than the car unveiling? what is going on someone mansplain it to me please)
#not a tag#from saph#thats more information than you will probably ever need to know about mclaren#mclaren#f1

PWHL Teams and Which Taylor Swift Era They are in
My sister and I were talking about how Minnesota Frost is clearly in their Tortured Poets Department Era, and that inspired the rest of this post. This is just a fun little thing I did, please don't take it too seriously or personally.
(Also for swifties, I used the old versions of album covers as it refers to that era. Red TV is totally different than Red ya know.)
Minnesota Frost:
Currently in their The Tortured Poets Department Era. Basically messy despite being on top of the world. The album came out after the raging success of Taylor Swift in her Era's tour and winning her fourth album of the year at the grammy's. This new album brings out snappy lines targeted at fans and revelations at how Taylor Swift didn't live up to the ideal many fans had of her. In Minnesota we had the recent firing of the favored general manager and drafting of a controversial player. You can't convince me that Ken Klee wasn't blasting But Daddy I Love Him, as he made all his messy decisions.
Boston Fleet:
Speak Now was a Taylor Swift era filled with spite and determination. The whole album was written by Taylor Swift alone, partially because her ex and some critics accusing her of not being a proficient writer on her own. After losing the Walter Cup, the Boston Fleet have the confidence that they can make it far and the determination to be better. (I also think spite comes naturally to Boston, not like they need a motivation or something.) This era is very youthful but honest, and I think that energy would be great to see in Boston next season. Someone blast better than revenge.
Montreal Victoire:
A personal favorite of mine, the Red Era of Taylor Swift had it all. Heartbreak, style, chaos, parties, love. This era was also risky and complex, Taylor Swift blended country and pop, bringing critical acclaim and a wider fanbase. Montreal has had a fun, but chaotic summer. Their draft picks are a fair mix of old and new. (With that wild Kessel pick) Their name and logo got rave reviews. People see the the good foundation the team has and are waiting in anticipation for what's to come.
Toronto Sceptres:
Reputation is a come back era, and Toronto has something to prove. Following a devastating injury to a star player, the team wasn't the same during the playoffs. This season they are going to have to show that they are still that team. Reputation is a fan favorite album and I have found Toronto to have the strongest fanbase. (They sell out most often and have the largest social media presence.) The team knows they are good and they have the support, they just need to rebuild.
Ottawa Charge:
Folklore is an era of surprising change. During Covid and following the cut short run of Lover, Folklore was an unannounced reinvention of Taylor Swift. It wasn't an intentional change, but one forced by the way of the world. Ottawa needs to find its grove and step into its own again. I haven't heard much from Ottawa on anything really, and I hope its because they got some cool alt indie surprise on its way.
New York Sirens:
Listen I am not only picking 1989 because it has a cool New York aesthetic. This is the era of leaning in and giving it your all. When Red didn't win album of the year, Taylor Swift decided to move to New York and reinvent herself. New York was last in ranking last season, but got first in draft. They have been working off season with insane draft picks and that somehow it worked out trade with Boston. New York has the star power, the New York city life, and the rebranding to help turn them into something new.
#natalie posts#pwhl#boston fleet#Minnesota frost#toronto sceptres#new york sirens#ottawa charge#montreal victoire#taylor swift#this was just a fun way to spend a saturday

trick or treat - now i want to ask you which characters you think are swifties 👻
Hi! okay so we both agree that clove is 100% a reputation girlie. i see glimmer as a lover album girl but midnights totally makes sense for her personality as well. in fact clove and glimmer bond by listening to midnights together and dress up in reputation and lover themed outfits for when they attend the eras tour together!! (as a couple, as besties - both work, climmer is my 2nd favorite clove ship lol).
gloss is like a begrudging swiftie because his sister loves it, he's more of a casual fan and will only really listen to her when cashmere demands it of him. enobaria can't say no to a pretty girl, so although she's not a swiftie cashmere does get her to listen with her. even brutus who is also not a swiftie just like... idk he does things sometimes because it makes his Good Friend Cashmere happy and he's also buds with gloss so he's in the room too when TS is playing and he's like "uh yeah sure cash i'm glad you're enjoying this"
marvel and cato arent swifties but they like supporting the girls they both are utter fools for (read: glimmer and clove).
peeta definitely appreciates TS and as you said likes fearless, he attributes katniss to the evermore album so he listens to it when he wants a reminder of his girl. prim of course is a debut album girlie but she's also a red and speak now superfan
foxface is autumn to me and she'd love red
effie is the ultimate swiftie, she makes elaborate costumes for the eras tour and does cute makeup looks that take HOURS to finish, haymitch goes with her because she forces him to be her personal photographer
edit: i forgot odesta, yeah they both like listening to TS as well and i think they're casual fans but they'll dance to 1989 together when they're in a party mood and listen to folklore to decompress/chill/calm themselves down and soothe each other after a hard day

Swifties forget that not only was Joe making appearances without her, Taylor went to multiple industry events without him (though sometimes with his mum). They only didn't take photos *together* unless a pap caught them on a private walk.
They also forget that she was more private than now because of I) being cancelled, II) did everyone forget COVID?? Nobody was seen anywhere for two years!
She was plenty Bejeweled during rep tour and Lover promo (where he came to her appearances but just wasn't filmed in the audience, but she's looking over at him constantly, so yes he's there).
She did social media promo during the Covid years which was all she could do due to restrictions. She filmed two whole ass documentaries about herself (if you include long pond) and was going to do Loverfest and Glastonbury before they were cancelled by Covid. Or is Joe somehow at fault for Covid too 🙄
And do they not remember doing their absolutely hilarious and highly original "can Joe Alwyn fight" jokes every time she made a public appearance, meaning that she appeared bejeweled in public enough times that that joke got old af.
And just using a tiny bit of logic and common sense, who thinks Joe was controlling Taylor when she was exposing details of their relationship through her songs? Including info about his depression?
Now she's doing pap walks with the squad and new bfs because she's redoing 1989 and using her clout (which she didn't have between rep and folklore, ie the years before Covid) for various pr reasons, one of them being to show Joe how "happy" she is and how she's totally fine without him.
Swifties are the ones who live in the basement considering that they don't know the first thing about human behavior 🙄

assigning each of the bad kids a taylor swift era because i am feeling deprived of tswift content now that she's on break from the eras tour
Kristen: Fearless. I can't even explain why, but to me that album is just so sunny and in my mind it fits Kristen perfectly. I think maybe it's because Fearless was one of the first album I ever really loved, then when I was older the rerecording is what got me back into tswift and I can totally see Kristen going through a similar journey with it where maybe she loves it as a kid but then stops listening to it as she distances herself from her childhood/family, only to fall in love with it again later on. Also I feel like the country vibes fit her well. (She would also LOVE betty but she would pretend it's a lesbian anthem)
Gorgug: Ok this feels controversial but he's a Lover stan. I just fully belive that to his core Gorgug is a lover not a hater and he would un ironically love Lover. Like to me that album is all about having gone through some bad shit and choosing to only carry forward the best of it? And that fits with my perception of Gorgug. ALSO the end of afterglow 'I want to be defined by the things that I love, not the things that I hate, or the things that haunt me in the middle of the night' just feels very Gorgug coded to me dont ask me why. However if you've seen any of my other posts about music and the bad kids you know that I wholeheartedly believe Gorgug loves all music so I think he'd be hard pressed to choose a favourite album.
Riz: Midnights. And not just because this kid never sleeps. Bassically I really couldn't decide which album he would listen to because none of them really fit, but then I started thinking about specific lyrics and I think Midnights has the most that he could relate to. I mean 'no one wanted to play with me as a little kid so I've been scheming like a criminal ever since' is about him. You can't change my mind. I do think though that Riz is definitely more invested in all the easter eggs and firguring out which album is coming next over actually listening to her music. Like he would for sure be among the first to figure out all her clues.
Fabian: 1989 and Folklore. I fully to the bottom of my heart belive that until his sophmore year Fabian would exclusivly be listening to pop music, sea shanties, and weird elven music. So obviously he would love the greatest pop album ever made. He wouldn't listen to Folklore until post sophmore character development. Also he would For Sure learn the choreography for the dance in the background of Dress on the Rep tour and recreat it perfectly using his sheet.
Fig: Speak Now. I mean do I even need to explain this? It's the perfect album for Fig. It's the kind of thing she would have loved when she was in her Preppy Cheerleader phase, but it has just enough of that pop punk influence that I feel like she could still appreciate it when she's older. I feel like she would definitly take issue with some of the misogynistic lyrics used in some of the songs, and would be all for the lyric change in Better Than Revenge. Also as I've mentioned many times before, Fig would love Paramore, and would LOVE Castles Crumbling. Like you're going to sit here and tell me that lines like 'They used to cheer when they saw my face, Now I fear I have fallen from grace' + 'Their faith was strong, but I pushed it too far, I held that grudge 'til it tore me apart' + 'Ones I loved tried to help, so I ran them off, And here I sit alone, behind walls of regret' + 'People look at me like I'm a monster, Now they're screaming at the palace front gates, used to chant my name, Now they're screaming that they hate me, Never wanted you to hate me' weren't written by Figueroth Faeth? I also just think songs like Never Grow Up and Long Live would perfectly fit with her not so secret sentimental streak.
Adaine: Evermore and Folklore. I think theres just a sort of elegence to these albums that really reminds me of Adaine. I also think theres so much vulnerability in them and a lot of the songs touch on feelings of not being good enough for others (mirrorball, tolerate it, this is me trying, right where you left me) that I think she could relate to not from a romantic relationship standpoint but from all the expectations placed on her by her parents. I also think that although these are probably the most low key of tswifts albums, they have some good angry songs (no body no crime, illicit affairs, mad woman) that she would definitly love. But yeah this is mostly based on aesthetics. Evermore and Folklore were albums written with a quill and Adaine is the kind of girl to appreciate this.
#ok thats all my thoughts on tswift and the bad kids#thank you for reading#if youre reading all this and thinking 'my blorbo wouldnt listen to that album youre wrong' then PLEASE tell me#i want to hear other peoples oppinions on this please please please#talk to me about my two special interests#dimension 20#fantasy high#fig feath#adaine abernant#gorgug thistlespring#fabian seacaster#kristen applebees#riz gukgak#ps i know a lot of tumblr people dont like tswift and thats totally valid she is morally a very questionable person#long post

aaron hotchner with a swiftie girlfriend headcannons !!
🍓💌🌷🫐
authors note: feel like aaron would be a 1989 stan or even “a rep lover, but maybe that’s just me being biased because i thought of this while listening to style.. idk but definitely let me know your thoughts on this!!
☆ imagine you dragging him to the eras tour and making him dress up appropriately!! i’d like to think that the two of you went as miss americana and the heartbreak prince!
★ don’t even get me started on the car rides, you are always bring dj in the car no matter what. you always end up playing taylor and sometimes if you look over at aaron you’ll see him bopping his head alone
☆ and of course after everyone at the BAU saw your instagram post about going to the eras tour they couldn’t help but tease him about it. which of course he denies all the swiftie allegations
★ sometimes when the two of you are just hanging around the house you’ll hear him hum some of the songs you play while he’s doing the dishes or even taking a shower
☆ he would one hundred percent always deny the fact that he actually enjoys her music but deep down everyone knows he’s a total swiftie, and you’re to blame!
★ whenever you two are in the car and you guys just jamming out he’ll look at you and wonder how he got so lucky to have sucha perfect girl

A Partial Haylor Relationship Timeline (In My Head)
I was listening to 1989 a few days ago and, as I do, I stumbled down a Haylor rabbit hole.
While I think my reference points are logical, much of this is, of course, speculation, so continue only if that’s your bag:
My jumping off point was this thought: “Hmm…is Wonderland about the rumored fight in Virgin Gorda in January 2013?”
So, we went on our way
Too in love to think straight
All alone, or so it seemed
But there were strangers watchin'
And whispers turned to talkin'
And talking turned to screams
…
I reached for you, but you were gone
I knew I had to go back home
You searched the world for somethin' else
To make you feel like what we had
And in the end, in Wonderland, we both went mad
Now I’m thinking the “long six months” referenced in “How You Get the Girl” was between January 2013 and June 2013. And when they got back together in June, they decided to keep their relationship out of the public eye, because that had been a point of tension.
(Side note: I’ve seen it referenced on a wiki, but without citation that I’ve found, that Taylor wrote and recorded HYGTG in January 2013; however, according to her, she didn’t start working on 1989 until around April 2013, during the Red tour).
So perhaps they’re together in secret though the summer but, by the fall, she needs some space and is maybe cracking under the pressure of all the secrecy (“I don’t want to keep secrets just to keep you”). So they take a break. He goes out with Kendall in late November.
Yet, in December, Harry tweets the lyrics “better still, be my winding wheel” on Taylor’s birthday.
But word spreads in January 2014 that they’re meeting up on the down-low in Malibu. (It was later confirmed by Courteney Cox that several of those hangs were at her house…man, they’re all so cool).
In February, they’re spotted hanging out with Ed in London.
Later that month, Harry writes “Just a Little Bit of Your Heart.” Two days later, Taylor writes “I Know Places.”
She later told GLAM in 2015, “[IKP] is a song about how other people will really ruin a relationship if they get a chance to and how it might be the best way to go about starting a relationship is to keep it a secret if possible just because it’s very fragile.”
They potentially take another break around this time, as Taylor writes “Clean” on February 9…but then she writes “Style” 10 days later, lol. So “Clean” is either not about Harry or she’s clearly not totally over him/ruling out getting back together someday.
(Side note: the whole “10 months sober” line in Clean confuses me, because if it was Harry-related, then that would place their break up in April 2013, which just doesn’t line up with anything I have seen. Thoughts?)
In March, Harry writes “I Love You.”
Another summer of them maybe being together in secret — maybe on-and-off or not exclusive —goes by, and it seems like they call it off for real again when, in August, Harry writes “Not Our Fault” with Gavin DeGraw.
Gavin says, “[The song] is about...if it doesn't work out sometimes you can't necessarily just blame it on yourselves, you know, sometimes it's what's going on around you. Sometimes it's other things that have nothing to do with the two people involved, those factors that you can't control. It touches on that type of subject. It’s a way of saying you're giving up, but it's not necessarily you're giving up because you don't love each other."
In November 2014, at the American Music Awards, Harry is super supportive of Taylor and 1989 and whistles as she receives an award.
In December, they party together after the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
In January 2015, they both go to a friend’s birthday party and out to a diner afterwards.
At some point, on his birthday, he makes her cry. While I can’t be sure of the exact year, because it’s a reference in the unreleased and later leaked “Hunger” song, the song also says, “as one year turns into two, I’m still not over you.” If it was two years since they fully ended in February 2015, they’d put us in February 2017. And HS1 came out in May 2017, so the timing works out.
Also, this birthday fight could be what causes her to wash her hands of them in the club, picture him with other girls in love and throw up on the street (“Hits Different”).
A week after his birthday, February 7, 1D starts their final tour. Later that month, Taylor meets Calvin and they start dating in late March.
She also maybe records “So It Goes…” in early March. I know there’s debate about the timing of this song’s creation, but if Oscar Görres (who wrote the instrumental) had his second child (born Sept. 17, 2017) the day they finished it, it wouldn’t have been done on time to make the Nov. 10, 2017 Reputation album release date (it’s typically 3-4 months of prep after the masters are done). She was also seen going into a studio on March 2, 2015 (per his retelling, Görres was at home when Taylor and Shellback were in the studio finishing the track and talked to them by phone).
In May the 2015 Billboard Music Awards Exile/Woman debacle goes down. Sad face.
In August 2015, Harry writes “Someday.”
And that’s all she wrote…well, kind of.
As we all know, they’re friendly after this, appearing at award shows, attending Ed’s wedding, and still talking about each other in the media with nothing but warmth and respect.
They, famously, date other people.
But they also continue to write about each other, more than a dozen songs between them, as recently as 2022.
And now, in June 2023, I’m just manifesting that “someday” is soon.
p.s. Credit and enormous props to @haylortml for the amazing timeline I pulled much of this from. You have truly done the lord’s work.

Since Riordan attended the Eras Tour let's talk about pjo swiftie characters (according to me ofc)
Annabeth= you can't convince she isn't a swiftie i know she is, but not many people know cause she thinks it's lowkey embarassing to be into Taylor, but she's totally a Speak now, 1989 stan she was screaming "Better than revenge" every day and every night when Rachel was into the picture, also she totally made Percy listen to "You are in love" cause it reminds her of them. Also also "New Romantics" is her anthem. She also loves "This is why we can't have nice things" cause it remindes her of Luke. I could actually go on forever but i'm gonna stop here now
Piper = duh of course she is, she is a Lover and Red girly, confused, romantic, hopeful in true love even after being hurt, she's on the "Paper Rings", "Me", "Lover" the song, "The Man" "I think he knows" ecc side of Lover and on the "The moment i knew", "Begin again", "Everything has changed", "The lucky one" "Stay, stay, stay" side of Red
Frank= i know in my heart, soul and mind he's a swiftie too, he actually takes Hazel to Taylor's concerts and randomly sends her Taylor's songs that reminds him of Hazel, he's the kind of guy who proposes during "Love story" cause lowkey is an hopless romantic. He was screaming crying every liryc of "You belong with me" at night in the Argo II when he thought Leo had a thing for Hazel. He gifted Midnights to Hazel cause the album is so her according to him. To me he is a Speak now girlie
Will= he's one of the biggest swifties at chb, there's literally nothing you can say to convince me otherwise. He's into her country albums more but actually lover all of her music, Taylor is his comfort singer (besides his mom of course) he's a Fearless girly and listens to "Fearless" the song, during long operations cause it helps him, "Hey Stephen" makes him think of Nico as well as "New year's day" cause he's a simp and "Dancing with our hands tied" cause that's literally his pov in Tartarus, idc, and of course "The best day" makes him think of his mom. "Change" and "Jump then fall" are some of his favorite Taylor's songs ever. I know my boy cries to "Mirrorball" and "This is me trying". You can't tell me he didn't sing "Our song" to Nico at least once
Percy,Hazel and Nico are Taylor enthusiasts, not quite fans but their s.o introduced them to her so now they appreciate Taylor too
Percy= he's a 1989 girlie, he loves "Welcome to New York" and thinks "Bad blood" is one of her best songs ever. After Annabeth made him listen to "YAIL" he fell in love wih it and it's now their song, he screams to "Haunted" when he feels disappointed by his father or by the Gods in general. He loves "The great war" too cause it reminds him of Annabeth as well as "Mine". And he loves "Long live" cause it just fits him and his story
Hazel= she's into Midnights (not only cause Frank gifted it to her, even tho that definetly made the album gain some extra points) "Bejeweled" and "Karma" are some of her favorite songs of the whole album but she cried the first time she listened to "You're on your own kid" so it has a special place on her heart. She dedicated "Lavander Haze" and "Sweet nothings" to Frank and it made him a bit emotional. Also she loves "Paris" cause she has taste. She absolutely adores "The outside" and the Debut album in general
Nico= i know what you're thinking hes a Reputation supporter but i actually see him more as a Folklore/Evermore girlie and a Lover one too, unlike Piper he's more on "The archer", "Cruel summer", "It's nice to have a friend" and "Soon you'll get better" side of Lover cause u know my boy is a little bit of a mess, and of course he loves "Daylight", "Cornelia street" (actually this song is his religion we know he has low self esteem) and "Aterglow" cause they make him think of Will. He thinks "No body, no crime" is probably Taylor best dark bop and obviously he loves "Gold rush" but i think he relates it back to his old crush on Percy, "Evermore" the song, is one of his favorite on the whole album, as well as "Long story short". I know Nico secretely cries to "Tolerate it". He dedicated "Invisible string" to Will (actually if you read TSATS without being a fucking hater, you'll know this is lowkey, very lowkey tho, canon) he loves "Peace" and "The Lakes" cause he relates to them deeply. I still think he loves Rep too like "Look what you made me do" it's totally his jam "I did something bad" is his go to song when he wants to be in a good mood and of course "Gorgeous"and "Delicate" cause he's secretely a romantic and down bad for his boyfriend.
If you don't know Taylor this won't make sense but if you have time and want new music give those songs a go, cause they're really good trust me u will not regret it
Just few lyrics to some of the songs to let u know what i'm talking about
BETTER THAN REVENGE= The story starts when it was hot and it was summer and, I had it all I had him right there where I wanted him she came along, got him alone, and let's hear the applause she took him faster than you could say sabotage
YAIL= One night he wakes strange look on his face pauses, then says you're my best friend and you knew what it was he is in love
NEW ROMANTICS= We're so young but we're on the road to ruin we play dumb but we know exactly what we're doing we cry tears of mascara in the bathroom honey, life is just a classroom
TIWWCHNT= It was so nice being friends again there I was giving you a second chance but you stabbed me in the back while shaking my hand
THE MAN= I'm so sick of running as fast as I can wondering if I'd get there quicker if I was a man and I'm so sick of them coming at me again cause if I was a man then I'd be the man
TLO= And they tell you that you're lucky, but you're so confused cause you don't feel pretty, you just feel used
YBWM= I remember you driving to my house in the middle of the night i'm the one who makes you laugh when you know you're 'bout to cry and I know your favorite songs and you tell me about your dreams think I know where you belong think I know it's with me
FEARLESS= And I don't know how it gets better than this you take my hand and drag me head first fearless and I don't know why but with you I'd dance in a storm in my best dress
HEY STEPHEN= Hey Stephen, i know looks can be deceiving but i know i saw a light in you [...] cause i can't help it if you look like an angel can't help it if I wanna kiss you in the rain, so come feel this magic i've been feeling since I met you
DWOHT= I loved you in spite of deep fears that the world would divide us so, baby, can we dance through an avalanche? And say, say that we got it i'm a mess, but i'm the mess that you wanted
MIRRORBALL= I'm still a believer but I don't know why i've never been a natural all I do is try, try, try
TIMT= They told me all of my cages were mental so I got wasted like all my potential and my words shoot to kill when I'm mad i have a lot of regrets about that i was so ahead of the curve, the curve became a sphere fell behind on my classmates, and I ended up here
Bad Blood= Now we got problems and I don't think we can solve 'em you made a really deep cut and baby, now we got bad blood
TGW= We can plant a memory garden say a solemn prayer, place a poppy in my hair there's no morning glory, it was war, it wasn't fair and we will never go back to that bloodshed, crimson clover the worst was over my hand was the one you reached for all throughout the Great War
BEJEWELED= Best believe I'm still bejeweled when I walk in the room i can still make the whole place shimmer
KARMA= Ask me what I learned from all those years ask me what I earned from all those tears ask me why so many fade, but I'm still here
YOYOK= Everything you lose is a step you take so make the friendship bracelets take the moment and taste it you've got no reason to be afraid you're on your own, kid yeah, you can face this you're on your own, kid you always have been
THE OUTSIDE= I've been a lot of lonely places i've never been on the outside
THE ARCHER= Who could ever leave me, darling? But who could stay? Dark side, I search for your dark side but what if I'm alright, right, right, right here? And I cut off my nose just to spite my face then I hate my reflection for years and years
CORNELIA STREET= And I hope I never lose you, hope it never ends id never walk Cornelia Street again that's the kind of heartbreak time could never mend
AFTERGLOW= I blew things out of proportion, now you're blue put you in jail for something you didn't do i pinned your hands behind your back, thought I had reason to attack, but no [...] Sorry that I hurt you i don't wanna do, I don't wanna do this to you i don't wanna lose, i don't wanna lose this with you
TOLERATE IT= I wait by the door like I'm just a kid use my best colors for your portrait lay the table with the fancy shit and watch you tolerate it if it's all in my head tell me now tell me I've got it wrong somehow i know my love should be celebrated but you tolerate it
INVISIBLE STRING= Time, mystical time cutting me open, then healing me fine were there clues I didn't see? And isn't it just so pretty to think all along there was some invisible string tying you to me
PEACE= All these people think love's for show but I would die for you in secret the devil's in the details, but you got a friend in me would it be enough if I could never give you peace?
LWYMMD= But I got smarter, I got harder in the nick of time honey, I rose up from the dead, I do it all the time i got a list of names, and yours is in red, underlined

Hello!!
I recently discovered your blog and I love the way you voice your opinions. I'm not a Swiftie per se, but I am deeply interested in her discography and I follow the Eras Tour a lot(especially the surprise songs), so yeah. I had a theory about Taylor and Joe but i never shared it with anyone because it felt like crossing into the parasocial territory lol, but i feel like I can share it with you!
So I always had this thought that Taylor used to think that she will probably slide into a sort of a "veteran" territory of musicians- not like she will not release music at all, but her music will never catapult her to the level of success she had with Fearless or 1989 (like she said in Miss Americana), especially during Lover. So many performances and interviews during Lover to push that album as compared to little or no interviews and promotion during Midnights and TTPD (Yes, they were promoted too but it was more of a marketing push than her own efforts to promote it via interviews and performances). And she was not wrong, especially the way women are treated in music and acting fields as soon as they touch 30. Folklore was a surprise drop, and she probably dropped it with a thought that only her dedicated fanbase will enjoy it, like what happens with music veteran musicians drop. That period where she wrote Folklore and Evermore were probably the closest glimpse in Taylor and Joe's ideal life together in future- away from the prying eyes, living in peace, them collaborating on Taylor's music and Taylor supporting his career. After all, it worked very well for them during Reputation. It was sort of an unspoken path they silently agreed on. But then Folklore and Evermore gave her commercial as well as critical success, her rerecordings of Fearless and Red (which were also a project she thought will only be enjoyed by her fans) compounded that success- and she finally understood that this is her chance to have that level of success again- and she thought that Joe will support her. But probably their ideas of moving forward sadly clashed with each other. She was not only breaking their silent pact, but she was moving towards that level of success he was not comfortable with on a personal level at all. And the sad part is that I totally understand both of them. If someone as ambitious as Taylor was given a chance at success after thinking for years that she simply won't, it's so natural to take that chance. I would have too. But if your partner is wildly successful, it not only creates this unwanted resentment in your head but you're also scrutinized for not "stepping up". She kept choosing that "pain", and he kept wanting it "comfortable".
(Again, not wanting to step into the parasocial territory. I do not know these people and I cannot speak for them, but yeah. Just some thoughts based on her discography because Midnights was such an interesting era for me)
i think some of this is supported by ttpd - there was resentment and uncertainty he even wanted to be with her ala so long london, "he was a hot house flower to my outdoorsman," she said she tried dimming the shining in the epilogue! we don't know for a fact that joe hated she was successful because it made him feel lesser, but she does at one point say (about joe or matty) "you said i needed a brave man then proceeded to play him" implying that part of swindle was that he told her her life was too big, too complicated, too hard for anyone but someone willing to handle it all.
and it's just a really common phenomenon in relationships: growing apart, growing resentful, being in denial, not being able to give each other what you want. that's why "all breakups are the same" is the tagline here!
thanks for your thoughts bestie, interested in hearing more if you feel like sharing!

I'm also AUTISTIC autistic gimme the TD timeline
*cracks knuckles*
let's fucking do this
SO. for the sake of arguments we're going to assume that the first season takes place in 2007 because that's when the show premiered. that's our starting off point. at some point in the summer of 2007.
we know that TDA starts mere days after the end of TDI, so we're still in 2007. I'm gonna say that's a total of about three or four months. so beginning of TDI to end of TDA = early summer to beginning of autumn in 2007. simple enough so far.
but TDWT is when things begin to get fuzzy. we know it's been a while since Action, because we had an entire Celebrity Manhunt special about what the cast had been up to between seasons. so it's been way more than just a couple of days.
BUT we do have a concrete date for the end of the season. in the Drumheller episode (I believe - it's one of the last few), it's Cody's birthday, and we know his birthday is April 1st. so the season ends in early April.
and fortunately, since we're in a different country every episode, weather does not factor into judging which season it is! so I'm going to say that World Tour begins in February 2008. begins in February, ends in April. why Chris had his summer camp show happen during this timeframe is beyond me, but who knows why Chris does anything.
now Revenge of the Island doesn't have any dates to adhere to, BUT. the next season does. Congrats, All-Stars, your existence does have a purpose!
so in TDAS Alejandro says that he was stuck in the robot suit for a year. we can be a little flexible with this since he probably didn't mean exactly one year to the day, but we can safely say that about a year has passed between the end of World Tour and the beginning of All Stars. or should I say, April 2008 and early summer 2009.
And just to keep things nice and tidy we can say ROTI takes place in summer 2008, just a few months after TDWT ended.
right, so we're in 2009, All Stars has ended and the island sank into the lake. awesome. now what do we do about Pahkitew?
well, I'm not sure exactly how long it would take to build a fully working mechanical island complete with waterworks, artificial flora, animatronic creatures and weather settings. but I'm assuming it doesn't take a few days. oh, and speaking of which, since the weather on that island is artifical, I also don't need to take weather into account when determining when this takes place. so since I don't have a concrete time frame for Pahkitew, let's allow the general ballpark of six months to a year. either way, we're in 2010 now. woohoo!
now let's go on a bit of a tangent and talk about Chris.
because in this season, Chris tells Topher that he's 30. if he's 30 in 2010, that would make him 28 in 2008, when TDWT takes place as we established.
although maybe he's not necessarily 30 exactly. maybe he just rounded off his age to sound younger (which is in character for him tbh). so he's 35 at most. which would make him 33 at most in TDWT.
um.
in that season, Sierra says Chris was in a boyband in the 80s. as in, the 1980s. as in from 1980 to 1989. if he's 33 in 2010, he was 12 in 1989. if he's 30 in 2010, he was probably BORN in 1980.
either way, he was in a boyband before he was even a teenager, possibly before he was ten years old. what the fuck.
hm. to be honest, being exposed to the celebrity world and cheesy tabloid fame at that age would explain a lot about him. remember Geoff's corruption arc in TDA when he becomes the new Chris? who's to say Chris didn't have something like that happen to him, but at an even younger, more impressionable age?
...either that or he was lying to Topher about his age. which. honestly might be more likely lmao. but I still think about the boyband thing sometimes.
anyway back to the timeline!
so TDI and TDA take place in summer 2007.
TDWT takes place from February to April 2008.
ROTI takes place in the summer of that same year.
All-Stars takes place one year later in spring or summer 2009.
Pahkitew takes place six months to a year after that in 2010.
(and if we're adding Nautilus to this thing, let's say Pahkitew takes place only six months after TDAS in January-February 2010, and Nautilus takes place in summer 2010. if Zeke was 16 in 2007, he'd be 19 in 2010.)
and just to wrap it up, we already know the time period for the reboot. it takes place fifteen years after the first season, and fifteen years after 2007 is 2022. I doubt a full year has passed between the first and second reboot seasons, since not much seems to have changed, so I feel confident in saying we're still in 2022.
God knows why Owen still looks 16 at the age of 31, though. Maybe the makeup department made him look younger to make him as much like he was on the show, to... increase marketability or something. I do have my own personal conspiracy theory that the guy who showed up in the baking challenge in season 2 of the reboot wasn't actually Owen, but who knows.
anyway I did it I nailed down a solid(ish) timeline for this show. you're welcome anon.
*passes out*

"Lady's Baby" (Tork) alternate vocal [More on YouTube.] Photo 1 in this video by Nurit Wilde, photo 2 by Bridgeman Images.
"[At the Troubadour, Peter] sang one of his new songs, ‘Lady’s Baby,’ and was called back for an encore." - Disc and Music Echo, May 18, 1968 (x)
“Peter isn’t sure what he’s going to do now [that he has left The Monkees], but he’s feeling free for the first time in months. Toward the end of the Monkees’ run at Screen Gems, Peter said they’d go into recording sessions and not even speak to each other much less play together.” - Circus, June 1969
“[Davy] got sick of banging the tambourine all day long. And [Micky] lost faith in himself. He never did believe he was a decent drummer, so he didn't want to do it anymore. Mike wanted to produce his own records. He wanted to have total control. I was the only one who believed in the group per se, and so there I was all by myself, wanting a group, with nobody to be a group with.” - Peter Tork, When The Music Mattered (1984)
“Taking the expression of following one’s muse quite literally, [Peter] sought to re-create in the studio the very environment that inspired him to compose the song. This endeavor included having a recording engineer crawl on the ground after young Justin to capture real-life ‘smiles and coos’ (as in the song’s lyrics). Both lady and baby giggled and squeaked through hours of expensive recording time, which seemed to infuriate some members of the band and their musical coordinator, the late Lester Sill. ‘“Lady’s Baby” was a very weird and ridiculous situation,’ recalls engineer Hank Cicalo. ‘To accommodate Peter at the time, he wanted to do this thing and he wanted it to be real spacey. So what we did was we set up the studio and brought rugs in and made a little room with pillows. He would bring his friends in and they’d sit around and he’d play a little bit. It was pretty outrageous: days and days of doing the same piece of material. ‘They would just sit around for hours and drink wine and carry on, and try to get takes of this tune. Maybe we would make one or two takes. It was OK for me as an engineer because it was like taxi time. But he wouldn’t take any help from anybody. At this point in time I thought my communication with the guys was pretty good, and I could talk to them and whatever else. There were a couple of times he got a little hot about doing this. I’d say, ‘Hey, you’re wasting a lot of time. Either we do this track, or we get on with it.’ We must have done a hundred takes on that thing. He sort of went off on his own in a lot of ways. And there was a little resentment between the guys in not working together.’” - The Birds, The Bees & The Monkees box set liner notes
“Hey listen, fair is fair. They laugh and joke about that [‘Lady’s Baby’]. OK, it cost as much to do I think as ‘Good Vibrations.’ They were laughing about Peter Tork, but that [song] is a true-to-life thing. He was living with a woman [Karen Harvey] at the time and she had a little baby [Justin Hammer] and that changed his life, you know? That gave him something to think about. He was being downtrodden by the studio in regard to his recording and his playing and his songs and everything else, but the guy was the salt of the earth. It wasn’t just Hare Krishna, waterbeds and brown rice. That guy was a very, very accomplished musician. He needed magic to be able to get in and do ‘Lady’s Baby.’ It’s a nice song. It’s true. It’s got the warmth and everything of what he was living. ‘Lady’s Baby’ touches me, lets me know that I am free, whatever it is. I remember it so well. It’s a real tune, you know? I love it.” - Davy Jones, The Monkees: The Day-By-Day Story of the '60s TV Pop Sensation (2005) (x)
"[M]y darling Karen, with whom I am still very good friends all these years later.” - Peter Tork during his My Life In The Monkees & So Much More tour, 2013 (x)
"We’re still very, very good friends." - Karen Harvey, The News Journal, July 16, 1989 (x)
Q: “The Birds, The Bees & The Monkees sessions was a productive time in the studio for The Monkees. However, none of your stuff like ‘Lady’s Baby’ and ‘Tear The Top Right Off My Head’ made it to the album. How come?” Peter Tork: “To tell you truth… I… I never was able in those days particularly — I’m getting better at it these days — but in those days I was almost entirely unable to fight for what I saw as quality. If I didn’t get somebody fighting on my behalf then it didn’t, just didn’t come to pass. And none of the other guys was much interested in supporting my sense of quality, they had their own agendas and each one of them… I mean, not that I was left out in this regard, no one of us really supported any of the others except that, that I like to think that I tried to support Micky in a way which, for some reason, he never did pick up on. I mean, I think that Micky has a certain kind of genius that he was never able to acknowledge in himself. But be any of that as it may, I just basically think that I wasn’t feeling a part of it anymore already by that point, I’d already felt like I was odd man out, and of course I quit almost immediately thereafter. In fact, I think it’s The Birds, The Bees & The Monkees that has some tunes that were recorded after I quit.” - Headquarters radio, September 1989 (x)

WRESTLING FURY: June 1989
PAUL E. DANGEROUSLY
The Manager Fans Love To Hate
By Don Laible
[The original Midnight Express are wreaking havoc in NWA rings everywhere.]
What a difference two years can make. It wasn’t too long ago that this Scarsdale, New York resident was juggling responsibilities as managing editor for several internationally recognized professional wrestling magazines. Always tagged as the ‘Boy Wonder’ who worked best under pressure, a career as a spokesman and manager to some of the most respectable grapplers seems to have been destined to Paul E. Dangerously.
With the encouragement and support from key wrestling personnel and his family, Dangerously has become the top ‘mouthpiece’ in the sport today, at least he has according to this writer. As a result of his dedication and will to succeed in such a brutal game filled with more disappointments than highlights, Paul E. has overcome the biggest hurdle of them all–the rookie jinx. Dangerously has been riding high on victories and championships for two years now with no let up in sight.
The weight that tipped the scale in favor of Dangerously giving him a shot at becoming a manager actually occurred several years back.It was the late Grand Wizard of Wrestling, one the sharpest dressers and smoothest talking men among the managerial ranks, that encouraged Paul E. to follow his dream. Through his father-son type of a relationship with the Wizard, the managing seed was planted within Dangerously.
“The Wizard was a wonderful man who commanded respect,” stated Paul when asked about the man he admired for so many years. “I owe so much to him. You know, I studied his actions both in and out of the ring. To me, he was the master and who better to learn from than a man who managed world heavyweight singles and tag team champions,” continued Dangerously from his home in Atlanta, Georgia.
[Paul E. and Eddie Gilbert really got things cooking at the CWF.]
Everyone, regardless of their profession, needs a place to begin from, a so-called launching pad. In January 1987, the state of Florida was where Paul E. Dangerously unleashed his managerial talents to the wrestling world. His first proteges who paraded the ‘Sunshine State’ territory were billed as The Motor City Mad Madmen: Tombstone and Man Mountain Mike. What a pair of bookends Dangerously was nestled between! Both men were over 6’4” and 260 lbs. And, needless to say, opponents found it frustrating and difficult to take a swipe at the bold young manager.
During their first pro tour, Dangerously and his duo wanted to send a message loud and clear that they could not be intimidated. Kevin Sullivan, a seasoned veteran with numerous championship belts displayed in his trophy case, was targeted by Dangerously to be the Madmen’s first victim to get their ‘no mercy’ policy across to the rest of the wrestling pack.
Sure enough, after being on the receiving end of a few brutal beatings by Dangerously’s duo, the much heralded Sullivan disappeared from the Florida region for apparently safer grounds in the Mid-Atlantic area. In a few short weeks, Paul E. Dangerously was not only a respected managerial mind but the talk of all wrestling promoters throughout North America as well.
Shortly after his stint drew to a close in Florida, Paul E. Dangerously became a household name with wrestling fans. Once signing on with the Minneapolis, Minnesota based American Wrestling Association, whose television show aired on the ESPN Cable Network, Dangerously was brought into millions of households on a daily basis. With the confidence he gained with the Motor City Madmen carried over into the AWA, Paul E. began an intense search to bring together a wrestling family that would play ‘second fiddle’ to no one. He didn’t just want to make a name for himself, the brash rookie manager was culminating a plan to totally dominate the prestigious organization.
Paul E. Dangerously didn’t waste any time in ruffling a few feathers within the AWA. “Loverboy” DEnnis Condrey and “Ravishing” Randy Rose, the Original Midnight Express tag team, through lengthy negotiations, were reunited and brought into the AWA by Paul E. They most assuredly entered with a bang. At the time Dangerously brought in the Original Midnight Express, Jerry Lawler and Bill Dundee held the AWA Tag Team title.
[Randy Rose and Paul E. inspect the bloody damage done to Tommy Rich by Austin Idol. Idol was one of the first men handled by Dangerously.]
After winning challenges in convincing fashion from such respected teams as Greg Gagne and Steve O, Dangerously shrewdly secured a contract calling for his prized up to get a shot at the tag champs in a match that was to be held in Whitewater, Wisconsin. The championship match went according to his most fans anticipated, quick paced and lots of high flying maneuvers. However, it was because of Dangerously ‘two cents’ thrown into the encounter that had a profound impact on the outcome.
As Lawler let his temper get the best of him, he chased Paul E. around the ringside area. With the referee’s back to the action in the ring, Dangerously successfully noticeably flipped his ever present cordless telephone to Dennis Condrey who wacked it across the unsuspecting Dundee’s forehead. The pin was now academic. One, two, three–on October 30, 1987 the new AWA Tag Team Champions, led by Paul E. Dangerously, were the Original Midnight Express.
The late ‘Adorable’ Adrian Adonis and ‘Cowboy’ Bob Orton, Jr. were two other established wrestling machines who entrusted their careers in the hands of Dangerously. It was through the strategy set forth by Paul E. that enabled Adonis to run Tommy “Wildfire” Rich out of AWA rings.
When asked about his feelings towards Adonis, Paul E. was quoted as saying. “Adrian put on quite a bit of weight when we were together but it never affected his performance on the mat. He was a remarkable athlete and it was a privilege to have worked with him.”
[Veteran wrestling announcer Boyd Pierce puts a headlock on Dangerously as “Kangaroo” Al Costello takes control of the famous phone.]
Once his goals in the AWA were accomplished, it was off to the Alabama headquartered Continental Wrestling Federation. What a greener pasture the CWF proved to be for Paul E. Dangerously. The services of “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert were quickly secured by Dangerously. Together, Gilbert and his manager literally brought back front he grave a promotion experiencing unhealthy low attendance figures to all-time high box office receipt records.
Dangerously and Gilbert were the pulse that pumped exciting ring action throughout the CWF circuit. Fan favorites Austin Idol and Willie B. Hurt were Eddie and Paul E.’s main adversaries. With some of the painful, degrading stunts executed by Dangerously on Gilbert’s opponents, there wasn’t a fan in Dixie that had any compassion for what would happen to the cocky, quick-talking Yankee. Unfortunately, and much to the fans disappointment, Paul E. Dangerously had the last laugh on all of them. He departed from the CWF without a scratch on his body.
With all the attention Jim Cornette’s Midnight Express (“Beautiful” Bobby Eaton and “Sweet” Stan Lane) had been receiving, Dangerously regrouped his Express and headed back to the National Wrestling Alliance to reclaim the right to be known as the one and only Midnight Express. Right off the bat, Paul E. got his angered message across to Jim Cornette.
While the verbose Cornette was being interviewed during an NWA television taping, a phone call for Jim was received. The voice speaking to Cornette was that of Dangerously. Apparently there had been bad blood between the two managers in the past as Jim Cornette was screaming derogatory remarks at Dangerously at the onset of the call. A challenge was then made by Cornette to Dangerously.
Just moments after the heated conversation, all hell broke loose. Paul E. Dangerously and his Original Midnight Express miraculously appeared on the set. Eaton and Lane were overcome by the surprise attack by Dangerously’s tag unit. Cornette was victimized with a wallop to the forehead by Paul E.’s phone and bled profusely. When order was finally restored, a feud was born within the ranks of the NWA–Express VS Express and manager clawing at manager.
Intimidation isn’t in Paul E. Dangerously’s vocabulary. Wherever he turns up, whatever task is put to him, Paul E. challenges it with a vengeance. Young, articulate, professional, agree or disagree with his tactics inside an arena, one fact remains unblemished–Paul E. Dangerously remains on top in wrestling due to his will to be the best. Second best is all the motive the “Scarsdale Superbrat” Needs to keep him working overtime on staying ahead of the rest of the pack.

midnights truthers rise. her absolute worst album. so mediocre, nothing but a collection of vault tracks (derogatory). may she move on from jack antanoff forever, i'm begging on my knees. what made folklore/evermore so 100/100 (except from closure, iykyk) was aaron. he pushed her and it showed. jack keeps her stuck in 2014. who knows how quickly her next album will come out, i hope she does something so different, i'm tired of jack's influence and her mediocre pop lyrics. i still cannot believe she really wrote 'cat eye sharp enough to kill a man' at her age and in the year 2023. i remain shocked.
something else i've been thinking: the fast turnover. maybe that's the problem? such quick production, album after album after album...and it's reflected in the quality of the work? what do u think? maybe she needs to take a few years off and i'm so serious, i would wait even 3+ years for a GREAT album and not just another ok one.
i also don’t love jacks influence but i wonder if it’s less of his production that does damage and more of him being a yes man? totally speculative. it’s weird bc there are songs i LOVE his production on and songs i HATE. i LOVE norman fucking rockwell and melodrama. HATE midnights & lover for the most part. maybe it’s the fact that he and taylor sort of built her pop sound together but jack has come into other artists songs where they already have a clear identity? idk! i think abt this all the time. aaron absolutely pushes her to make better art and i wonder if it’s bc he’s very much of the scene of people she wants to impress/the people who are usually most critical of her work but he’s clearly so supportive? his work on the speak now tv tracks is IMMACULATE!
honestly idk about the turnover. i feel like she’s always written this prolifically and is now more in charge of her own work and doesn’t have to be stuck in an album cycle the way she used to be. i also think the turnover is from covid since she wasn’t releasing albums and anticipating a tour or anything. i like getting new music so frequently, but i can see the argument. i imagine after the eras tour we’ll return to the two year album cycle like what happened with rep/lover but maybe she feels happier releasing things as she writes them? i think part of the problem is that she wants it to be the 1989 era again imo. now that she’s blown that success out of the water, i wonder if she’ll stop chasing that success? but midnights sold soooo much so i fear we’re stuck w it. i think Taylor is at her best when she has something to prove. speak now is incredible and she wanted to prove she really wrote her songs, fearless is amazing and it was her making herself known as an artist, 1989 is a pretty perfect pop album and it was her trying to prove herself as a popstar, folklore is incredible and it was her trying out a new sound + doing no promo for an album… idk! i think she needs to try a new sound again, really want to achieve something besides chart status and sales
