I somewhat really love seeing bsd manga spoilers on my dash (I’m technically anime only) because it’s just. it’s always something so hilarious??? and in any other manga I just straight up wouldn’t believe it happens but with bsd I’m just sitting here like “that’s ridiculous lmao wonder what these bitches do next”
like OF COURSE fyodor and dazai are catfighting over chuuya! why wouldn’t they
#I have more than one mutual writing meta about dazai and fyodor and chuuya#and I'm just nodding along as if I knew what's going on IT'S FUN#and also so strange cause with other series I HATE seeing spoilers#like jjk#I really would've preferred to see that while reading the manga#chi talks#this is NOT an invitation to send me spoilers on anything else btw!

My Oath
day six of celebration marathon
Percy Jackson x platonic!demigod!reader. (God of the unknown because I can’t help myself, he is a oc of mine for my pjo series)
-£ plot: Your father has learned of a new forbidden child. As his number one he sends you to do his bidding. until your loyalty is challenged.
-words: 1k
-£part two?
-£ warnings: angst, plot of murder, new plot, slight spoilers for readers father in “a love watered by blood”, god of the unknown, (Big spoilers. Reader is sent to kill Pecy) , also the song from Epic:the Troy sagas “the horse and the infant” is what this is based off of.
you were no oath breaker.
you bowed at your fathers feet as he sat upon his throne. the place you called home was dark and misty, your fathers doing, it was a place of mistrust but undying loyalty to him. it was you who was called on often as you served at his hand, you proved your worth as a demigod and you became something more when he took you into his ranks. no other gods dared to speak to him and he liked it that way, no fuss or chatting.
they had many secrets. and he could spill them all.
he hated his “family” and they knew it. wars have been taught over centuries and he picked a side with little care. but he did love secrets and nothing was kept from him even in the smallest corner in the world. every whisper was his to hear.
“what is needed of me.” your eyes stayed on the marble floor beneath your knee, your arms thrown over and await his command.
“i have found a forbidden child, again,” he picked at his nails, his body slumped against the throne.
“a son of poseidon, perseus jackson. make his death quick, but i don’t care if it’s painful.”
you slowly looked up at him, you examined his calm and carelessness behavior. a forbidden child was not unheard of to you, as you have been sent to watch a few over the many years. killing was easy for you, no harm came to your mind as the thought of displeasing your father outweighed any death you caused by your hands.
“tell me where to go.” you agreed to the quest.
earth was a strange place, especially since you grew up in a different time. though you watched the mortal realm in the mirror in your room, finding peaceful places and happy memories being created. but it was a curse, no matter how hard you tried to fight it, when your eyes closed you would dream about the horrors of life. maybe it was a way of life getting back at you for being the cause of destruction— a weapon to be used.
creeping into the apartment building, the widow was not able to keep you out since you had many tools. you’ve done things like this, sneak and kill, return and repeat at his command. you never failed— in fear of being destroyed yourself, a gods wrath was a hard punishment for anyone.
the room was dark and only the light from the moon shined in, making things noticeable. the clothes sticked to your skin from the weather that night. drawling your dagger, preparing to kill your next victim and without causing destress or a fight. but it wasn’t a man you saw. it wasn’t a bed.
it was a crib, a few shells hanging above the babes sleeping body.
stepping back in shock and hesitation you stare at the infant. he was so small. he looked healthily. how is he going to cause any harm? you couldn’t kill a child- a baby. someone unwilling to make decisions for themselves. your doubts and thoughts caused your ears to start ringing, the drums getting pressure built on them.
“I can sense you have your doubts,” the deep voice makes your body shiver and look down at the bracelet on your wrist. the only thing your father gifted you, a silver band with a mirror attached in the center. he could see what was happening anytime without fail. all mirrors are a portal for his eyes.
“He’s just a boy- what kind of threat does he pose?” you kept your voice low and hushed to not awake the mother of the babe.
“he is a forbidden child, you know what that entails. you’ve seen it with your own eyes the damage they cause, the wars started with unfair advantages. that child will grow into a soldier, cause chaos everywhere he steps and gets good people killed. you know I am right.” each point he made was the same he used before to justify his actions.
“don’t make me do this.” you plead. you’ve never begged before, never spared a life in all your years. but never, have you been sent to kill someone so innocent.
“you dare beg for his life to be spared? I have given you a order, so do it.” your father snarled. not many times were you under his accusative tone. you could hear his voice echoing through the throne room along with a slam of his hand.
“i have done everything you asked of me,” you sounded so small in defeat, “but I can not do this.”
just like that you were willing to risk everything you have built. a place at your fathers feet, above others. a place to live and thrive. and for what? the answer is when you looked at him there is nothing to defend, nothing but a open book waiting to be filled.
“you don’t have a choice,” he roared through the mirror and you could feel the vibration. “kill him, now.” he demanded as his nails scratched at the chair he seat mighty on.
“after years of faithful service, I obeyed every order and command, I live alone each day in a room filled with people. you may have made me for a weapon to use, to do your job for you but I will no longer be a slave.” for the first time you spoke back.
“one day he will die, but not by my hands.” taking the watch on your hand and slipping it off of you, then letting it fall to the ground. the last thing you see is your father shouting at you, his face grim and frustrated. stomping your foot on the floor you break the glass, the item becomes useless.
glancing over to the babe who looked peaceful and wrapped up in a tight blanket. it’s been forever since you were this close to a baby. as a little girl you wished for a family of your own, only you had a life of a demigod.
but looking at him made you sick to your stomach. a pit of anger for the boy who had cost you everything. the world was his to explore.
you were left with no home, no family to go to. and you had broken a oath. you swore yourself to never fail a quest or go against his wishes but you had, for a son of poseidon?— world must have been coming to a end.
you tried to hate him, you really did. but there was no one left to fight for. the decision was yours to make, his life was worth more then yours could ever be. you left quickly after that, afraid you had been to loud.
and one day, you’ll meet the boy he became.

So I played Life is Strange 2 for the first time ever
I didn’t wanna play it for a long time not cause it didn’t have Chloe or max (tbh I got sick of their asses around BtS they’re not even my faves)
By that point I was in college and had lost interest in the whole franchise but also I was very apprehensive of white creatives writing racism with no input from the group they’re portraying, they don’t usually do a good job
Sometimes they make it cartoony, sometimes they trivialize it, sometimes they romanticize it
So years later adulthood kicked my ass and I came back crawling to this franchise for some comfort, I finished True colors annnnd I finally started 2 after hesitating annnnd
^sketched this while playing
SPOILERS
I actually liked it
I liked Sean, the drawing segment he does- he was such a likable main guy, deserved better honestly.
I also liked Daniel, he was very adorable and I never got it when people called him annoying like no shit the 9 year old is gonna act like a 9 year old- just don’t be a jerk to him, I know he can be frustrating but that’s what taking care of a kid is like
And lis had always been about realistic complex characters, y’all can’t handle a traumatized nine year?
I have two younger siblings and two nieces plus I’ve been a bratty younger sibling to two older sisters
Maybe I’m just used to it?? But honestly Daniel wasn’t that bad
The racism portrayal in the first few episodes was not all that cartoony and it actually felt real at times, like I can check for American news rn and find stories similar to what you see in episodes 1-3 (minus the telekinesis)
Although the gas station racist hick spouting trump slogans was a bit on the nose, it’s more of dialogue thing
Some people thought the gas station detainment was egregious but it can happen unfortunately, especially to vulnerable people in rural areas and by someone of a higher systematic advantage
One other thing I did not like was the love interests, I thought Finn and Cassidy were alright characters on their own but why do we need romance in this game where the protagonists are always on the run?
I don’t like to compare lis 1 to 2 but when it comes to the romance the former did a better job as it spent more time establishing it, plus max stayed in the same place for the majority of the game- but you know what? Sean doesn’t have to be in a relationship right? It can be a one off thing, that’s fine
Which brings me to my next point
How old are Cassidy and Finn?
Cause Sean is still 16 and no, being on the road didn’t mentally age him- he’s not “mature” for his age
He is still a kid
So for some reason Dontnod never really specified their ages but some articles described them as teens (they look 30 to me) and they can be around 18 right? Their lives are hard stress ages you- it happens, we can with live that, it’s just a two years difference
But teens or not
why did they animate a whole knocking the boots scene???
Of all the games in the series, the only one that gets a sex scene is the one with the much younger protagonist and his ambiguously aged older looking love interest and I think it’s only with Cassidy you get to do it in the tent
Alex Chen was robbed of a on screen booty call from a beanie wearing lesbian with a sexy radio voice or a buff ass Adonis of a man who was Smokey the bear’s regional manager or something
Anyways I’m gonna move on I’m uncomfortable lmao
*im not hating on people who ship Sean with either Finn or Cassidy, I’m not even tagging your ship names- im just stating my personal preferences on my blog
One last thing I did not like about LiS 2 and it was the one thing that kept me from playing it for years
That one scene from episode 4
So at this point Sean Diaz went through the following:
-lost his father, had to abandoned his loved ones, education and home
-was accused of killing a cop
-had to take care of his little brother on his own while on the run, the same brother with telekinesis and none of them know how to control it
-was harassed, beaten then detained by a racist white man
-had to take refuge in an abandoned cabin with little resources
-the dog that they adopted at the gas station eventually gets mauled
-the one time they found solace at their grandparents house they had to leave abruptly cause the police was hot on their trail
-on their way out they can potentially witness the neighbors kid that they befriended get hit by the police car that’s chasing them
-they find shelter at a nomad campground but oh no they get involved with drug trafficking cause they barely have any other options to make money (unfortunately this happens a lot IRL this isnt egregious)
-Sean now has to deal with the trafficking, making sure that Daniel doesn’t get into any trouble with his powers while fake ass giancarlo esposito is breathing down his neck
-and guess what happens next… Daniel gets robbed into pulling a heist on temu gus fring and it goes badly, Sean can potentially lose a love interest/friend in Finn
-Sean gets hurt, Daniel goes so mad that he blows the whole place up; a shard glass flies into Sean’s eye and he ends up losing it
- Sean wakes up from a coma and learns that his brother is missing and he’s about to be taken to jail
- the one thing that consistently brought him joy during this trip was his art and because of the missing eye he can’t even do it the same anymore cause it hurts now
- Sean has to escape the hospital with a hot wired car, little money and has to drive across two states just to get to his brother
-on the way he dreams of his father, he wants him back he wants his old life back but that’s not gonna happen so he has to move forward
Im not listing all this as examples of bad story telling, a lot of these are real life experiences of homeless people. im just painting a picture of the shit that Sean had went through so far
Cause right after the dream sequence, Dontnod didn’t think all that was enough no you had to see Sean get hate crimed by two lifetime movie, sitcom special of the week racists- be made to either sing or suffer a brutal beating
It added nothing to the plot, it didn’t need a choice system either- it’s a hate crime, you’re not asking Joyce for fucking pancakes or eggs n bacon at the whales diner or hosing down Lisa the fckin plant.
This to me went straight to trauma p*rn category, it’s wheelchair Chloe all over again
I hated it then in LiS 1 and I hated now in LiS 2, this is why I don’t dick ride Dontnod that often
They always had this tendency right before the end they single out a particular character and mentally whip them, they become the writing teams punching bag- they think we didn’t get it the first time that this character is going through it, they just hammer it in with the subtlety of a heart attack and I hate it
“Yeah but it’s there to show Sean’s resolve to find Daniel-“
HE ESCAPED FROM THE HOSPITAL AND THE FEDS, HE HOT WIRED A CAR TO DRIVE ACROSS TWO STATES
He’s starving, dehydrated, suffering from chronic pain
That’s enough
Let the character breathe
You ask why not a lot of people wanna play this game and I’m gonna tell you, as much I enjoyed it myself it’s not an easy game to play- it gets brutal, especially right around the end
I’m not against bleakness or extreme conflict, I’m into that but sometimes that doesn’t translate well to any gaming format- especially a choices matter game that’s meant to be replayed
Some people have asinine reasons not to play LiS 2 like it dealing with racism and those people suck, lis had always dealt with progressive themes like calling out objectification, cyberbullying and sl*tshaming
Racism shouldn’t be the exemption
but misuse of racial trauma and not knowing when it’s appropriate to invoke it is a huge turn off and hella triggering to a lot of non white players and I remember when LiS 2 dropped I’ve seen (mostly white) lis fans at the time proclaiming that not wanting to play it meant that you were racist
Like I said there were probably racists who didn’t wanna touch the games cause of the main characters skin but there were people like me who were apprehensive of the “Let’s go to the mosh pit Shaka brah” people handling racism
This is the same studio that had Ms Grant (one of the few black characters from LiS 1) claim that the white settlers peacefully shared the stolen land with the native Americans
I find that shit harder to believe than the time traveling powers
And they were doing alright in the first episodes they covered stuff like unconscious biases slipping through, dog whistles, polite racism from the grandparents segment, police brutality, racial profiling and being targeted/othered- some of these things I went through when I visited western countries
Then they did the bullshit I feared theyd do…
I really don’t blame myself for being hyper vigilant at the time and honestly I was going through a lot then, even if I wanted to I wouldn’t have touched LiS 2 cause it’s a very heavy tasking game to play
I know I kinda made it seem like I didn’t like this game but I did, its the best one in terms of the choice system
It had more weight to it, seeing Daniel internalizing what you say to him or how you act around him was so cool
Also what the second game has over the first one aside from the choices system is the ending selection- I never liked picking the endings for max, I wanted her to pick the ending or her coding/script to do that
Its definitely more fleshed out technically even though LiS 1 has a special place in my heart it’s always gonna be no. 1- but im also glad that I got to experience the 2nd game for the first time, I liked it
Personal lis ranking
1: Lis 1
2: Lis 2
3: True colors
Discount bin: BtS
My personal fave moments from LiS 2:
- beating up the racist bully and giving him a concussion
-mushroom (rip icon)
- victorias letter
-winning that that bear from that claw machine
-gorillaz song that was not feel good inc
-Brody pointing at a fucked up looking arcadia bay yelling “that’s the past!”- that was hilarious
-Sean paying tribute to Arcadia bay in his sketchbook (this fucking kid man, he’s so sweet he deserves the world- what did he do to make DONTNOD mad at him)
- the wolf animation and the story that plays before every chapter
-this was the worst hate crime in the whole game

welcome back to the devildom
this part covers lesson 1-1 through 1-12. spoiler warnings for anything included in that span.
woooo tete actually finished a piece! and then everyone clapped. if you aren't aware, this piece is part of an ongoing series of me rewriting and expanding on scenes from nightbringer that i think lack emotional depth/just need more. explanation + masterlist!
warnings: no big ones here, just angst and emotional turmoil, i hate capital letters so, mc is gender neutral, no beta we die like my love for omswd after they added ten million chapters and dipped
word count: 4323
just a moment ago, your phone was in hand, text thread with a friend staring back at you. now, you lay haphazardly on some kind of uncomfortable wooden ground as vague and distant voices reach your ears.
as you blink away blurry hues of sleep, lord diavolo stands over your form. it takes a moment to adjust to your surroundings, quickly taking note that the lord is in his demon form. something must have happened- this is not an every day sight. shuffling to pull your tired body off the ground, you meet his gaze. "thank goodness," he speaks with a small smile. "you're awake."
as you open your mouth to speak, the lord cuts you off. 'you've been out cold this entire time. we were really beginning to worry." his words send a strange feeling up your spine, head turning past his wings to notice the brothers also in full demon form are here as well. lucifer looks displeased with whatever this situation is, mammon and leviathan both look you up and down, asmodeus just looks like…well, asmodeus, and the twins are stood together seeming uninterested. it does not go unmissed that satan appears to be not present. words are falling from mammon's lips, but you do not hear. your eyes continuously scan the room, scrambling to remember anything about how you got here and were knocked out.
"wait, mammon. they don't seem to know where they are." a gloved hand is placed against mammons tanned chest, stopping his approach. you know that's lucifer speaking, so why doesn't it sound like him? something is laced within his words that you don't think has ever made an appearance. the group seems to fall into rapidfire questions and concerns, belphegor asking if you're lost.
"lost?" you finally find your voice, though it is smaller than ever. "they smell good for a lost demon, i wonder if they are hiding some good food." beelzebub's voice is deeper. the look in his eyes as you meet them with your own hungrier than you've known.
"i-" "this facility is currently under construction, and under the direct authority of the demon king. what are your intentions of being here?" the lord has an authoritative twinge to his voice. this must be some kind of fucked up dream- or maybe solomon managed to poison you all once more with some stupid enchanted muffins. regardless, you struggle to find words as the seven demons all stare down at you. a beat of silence passes before your phone dings in your pocket, the sound nearly causing you to jump. instinctively it is pulled out, and an unregistered contact pops up to greet you.
'pleased to see you. shall i take you someplace you will be happy? somewhere that will bring you more joy than any other. a world you desire and where you will be desired.'
a short text is typed in response, demanding to know who they are. and as quickly as you had replied, more texts fly onto your screen.
'i clearly have you worried, don't i? well, there's no need to be. nothing remains hidden from me. i see everything. nevertheless, we shouldn't keep them waiting. you have received a second chance at a fated meeting. do you understand?'
a picture is sent at the end of the influx of messages, your beloved seven staring at you from the screen. your eyes look up from the image to them standing in front of you, then back down. 'i don't understand.'
'let me rephrase then. the people you meet here, you are fated to form a deep bond with. i shant tell you my name. just know that you will be entering your own past. or the time of someone you don't know. but never fear, they will always be there waiting for you.'
no more messages come in. as you look up from your phone once more, you meet the lord's eyes and feel yourself freeze up. "i apologize my lord, my friend sent me an address to meet them but it appears i got it wrong." as strongly as you try to mask your fear in a bold face lie, it wafts off you in every direction. the lord seems to ponder your words before nodding slowly, his arms falling to his sides. "i don't believe we have ever met before, which is strange as i know every demon in the devildom- nevertheless, i am diavolo, the next in line to rule the devildom…" he goes off into an all too familiar tangent of each demon brother and their respective sin. "there is one more brother, but he isn't-" a loud noise cuts his speech off, startling you. it seems to have come from the halls leading to this room, which you are now beginning to recognize as the council room of RAD. "speak of the devil…" as bewildering as this whole exchange is, you have to stifle a laugh at belphegor's joke.
satan himself bursts forward into the bones of a room, a look of true rage on his face. a heavy sigh falls from lucifers lips at this. "asmodeus, you did make sure those chains were tight enough, didn't you?" at his words a scowl crosses your features. "why would he be chained up?" its a quiet comment to yourself more than anything else, but diavolo hears.
"that demon is satan, child. the avatar of wrath himself. when i stated that lucifer had another brother, he is who i was referencing." he pauses, turning to glance at satan as if waiting for him to pounce before turning back. "they have all just arrived to the devildom." you nod as if any of his words even make sense. it really is starting to feel like some fucked up nightmare of being thrown into the past, right when the brothers lost the great celestial war and fell. something about this dream just feels so real. "avatar of wrath. i understand." your head is still nodding, eyes trained on satan behind diavolo as lucifer and mammon attempt to wrangle him into submission. this moment is so personal, so raw, that you consider looking away. as if this isn't something satan would want you to see.
with you lost in thought, satan manages to escape his older brothers grips and launches at belphegor. beelzebub is body blocking him in an instant, shielding the youngest. "thanks, beel." belphegor grunts out a praise to his twin while catching his breath. the force had nearly knocked you to the ground just from the sheer mass right next to you, beelzebub turning to you now. "are you okay too? sorry about that." rapidly your head nods with wide eyes. the tall demon sighs in relief, a smile on his face. "i'm glad. can't have a random demon pulled into our mess of a family."
his words were out of kindness- yet the effect was opposite. 'random demon' pulls at your heart. after all, you are anything but random to this group. you'll wake up eventually though, that thought comforting you. maybe you and the brothers will all laugh about this when you tell them.
"i've just about had it with all of you, this world, everything." satans low growl of a voice bounces off all the scaffolding. his hands raise from his sides as he thrashes free from lucifer's hold, eyes glowing a bright emerald. "i, avatar of wrath, will obliterate every last one of you." a breath hitches in your throat. you've seen satans outbursts, his daily battle with containing the wrath that lives in him. you know he is more than his anger, and that at the end of the day- he didn't ask for any of this. subconsciously you step forward, at the same time that he does. "oh man, we're all dead now!"
your chest suddenly heaves forward, a warm and bright feeling overtaking your entire body. the view from your eyes begins to sharpen, getting clearer and clearer as your eyes meet those dark emerald ones. a single word falls from your lips like instinct. "stay."
the hairs on your neck stand on edge, skin tingling and bubbling with something trying to break out. as if someone inside of you were thrashing about, throwing themselves at your bones to break free. until this moment, you have never felt controlled by your power rather than the other way around. in one single blink, not only is satan dropped from your view and against the floor, but so are all six other brothers. a soft whimper falls into the air as you come down, the faint taste of iron on your tongue. "sorry, so sorry." you stumble over an apology looking at the sight in front of you, mammon beginning to go off on what you've done.
the lord laughing silences him immediately.
"is this- this is funny to you, lord?" lucifer pushes up off the ground, turning to glare at you with his arms crossed roughly. "you. what the hell have you done?" your mouth opens and closes like a fish out of water. because truly, you don't know what just happened. maybe the dream version of you has incredulous power in this way? diavolo's laughter dies down as he speaks. "well (your name), i sure have never met a demon like you. honestly, that was quite the riot."
"yo, what was so funny about that?" mammon grunts through his words as he rises too, one hand rubbing at his cheek from the impact. an apologetic smile is sent in his direction, but he does not seem to accept it.
"something about this meeting feels fated. after all, i myself can't personally watch over you lot." diavolo turns in a circle, surveying the battered up bunch standing around. his eyes turn back to you. "do you think you can handle them the way you just did, for a longer period of time?"
your head tilts to the side. "you mean, babysit them for you…?" the room fills with diavolo's laughter once more. he is nearly folded over into himself, amused greatly at your words. "these demons are new, as you know already. they fought in the great celestial war, and ended up here. things have become very…chaotic, because of this, and i need eyes on them at all times."
the lords speech ends, as if you are supposed to understand what he is insinuating. you don't.
"let me try that again," his arms cross against his chest with a smile. "until things settle down in the devildom, i'd like to ask you to attend to them. become their servant, show them around, the works." belphegor makes some offhanded comment in the back about how they don't need a 'babysitter with freakish powers', which the lord ignores as he bores holes into you with his gaze. waiting for your reply, knowing the answer is already yes. after all, he is the lord of the devildom at the moment. "diavolo, we not need for an attendant. just because we used to be angels doesn't mean you must treat us like children." lucifer all but pleads with him, to no avail. he doesn't break his gaze from you for even a second, not even blinking as he waits.
"i accept."
that would be how you find yourself holding up satan's feet as beelzebub carries him, the rest of the brothers and the lord all in tow behind. after all the commotion and complaints had died down, diavolo insisted you walk with them to the brother's new living situation. you'll need to be familiar with it of course for the job, but you also already know it like the back of your hand. these weird dream versions of the demons don't need to know that. the group makes it back in due time, satan still absolutely out cold from whatever insane magic burst from you earlier. the lord has all of you exchange contact information at the gates of the house of lamentation, giving you all the proper applications and such to reach him directly.
mammon falters at the gates, an expression you know as fear on his face. "hey, its not that bad." you give him a small shrug, his head turning to look at you. diavolo also turns to look at you, confusion on his features before you realize your mistake and rush to correct it. " i mean, looking at it from here, it doesn't look all too bad." he seems to take this answer and move on, you two standing as mammon finally makes his way inside and up towards the house. "you won't be staying with them, (your name)." you stand up a bit straighter at this, mind filling with worry on where the hell to go if not here. 'i, um. don't really have anywhere…"
the lord clasps a hand on your shoulder, leaning down closer to your height with his head tilted. "you don't have a place? no friends you stay with?" he sighs, shaking his head. "i won't pry. you seem young, and when i was younger i used to find myself in runaway situations too. but either way, the house of lamentation is the one place they will have all to themselves so i apologize."
your head nods as he speaks softly, feeling comfortable finally in his presence. "i arranged accommodations for you already, so you musn't worry child."
before you can reply, an all too familiar voice calls out from behind you two. "my goodness. there you are, (your name). i was wondering where you disappeared off to. i was worried, you know!" in tandem, you and the lord both whip around to see solomon walking up with a pained smile on his lips. there also appears to be sweat on his brow- as if he had been running around like crazy. "that was fast, solomon. i wasn't expecting you here yet." the lord's warm hand slides off your shoulder, as he extends it to the sorcerer with a shake. "and you mean to tell me you already know (your name)?"
seeing solomon sends a wave of relief over your entire body. sometime over a year ago now, you two had fiddled around with some dream spells to be able to link up and dream together. so any time you see his face in your dreams- he actually is there. it reassures you in this instance to know he is experiencing this nightmare too, but also that out of anyone in the world he is the one who can force wake you.
"i know them very well, actually. it just so happens that they are my apprentice." the tall sorcerer speaks with a smile, one hand to his chin. your eyes haven't left him since he appeared, though in contrast he has yet to look at you. "isn't that right?" he speaks to you. while still looking at diavolo.
"yes," the words finally find you. "its true, my lord." diavolo is shocked at this revelation, but accepts it as fact with a nod of his head before turning back to solomon. his hands wave in the air for a moment.
"i know you are quite accustomed to outlandish things but…a demon as an apprentice, that is a new for even you." solomon gives a soft laugh at this, slender pale hands moving to rest on his hips. "they're my top student, actually…" you tune out the conversation as they go on and on. staring straight holes through solomon, trying to will him to look at you. to acknowledge how crazy all of this is. to tell you to wake up. you're brought back down into your body when diavolo touches your shoulder once more, bidding you a farewell so he may return to the castle. "i'll be seeing you soon, and i cannot thank you enough for taking on the task at hand." with that, he is gone. you and the tall sorcerer are left in a heavy silence.
he breaks the tension first. "...i'm guessing you have quite the list of questions?"
"you're solomon." you state it as a fact, and his body finally turns so he can meet your eyes. a nod, and then, "yes, i am. and you're (your name), my human friend. not my demon apprentice." he pauses, a hand coming up to reach for your own. though you take a step back out of his grasp before he can touch you, a strange emotion flashing on his face. "i don't like this dream. can you wake me up?"
his hand hangs in the air for a moment, before falling along with his expression.
"no, no i can't." the smile on his face is full of pity, and a deep sense of dread builds up in your core. "this one isn't a dream, i'm afraid. can i walk you home…? and then explain it all, of course." you feet feel as if they were floating above the ground, your body just a ghost stood here. this has to be a dream, but...you know that if solomon is here and can't wake you…
no words come out of your mouth. instead you nod robotically, making no move to walk. solomon sighs and drops his head, hiding his face before reaching forward to grab your arm. the sorcerer practically walks you like a child all the way through the devildom to the housing arrangements, your form rigid and silent. a single puff of wind from his lips could knock you over.
"we're here," his voice is soft and careful as he leads you up and into the building. your eyes gloss over a plaque stating it as 'cocytus hall', but you show no emotion at this. he all but sets you down onto an awkwardly large bed before his hands are off of you. standing back now, he sighs again and shakes his head. "i'm so…sorry, (your name). let me explain." he kneels down in front of you on the bed edge, gently taking your hands in his.
there wasn't really an explanation you had thought of that matched any of what he tells you. not even in your wildest dreams had you ever imagined a scenario like this, yet here you are. the beloved human jewel of the devildom, sent back hundreds of years in the past for God knows why. you learn how solomon followed you here, chasing you through time to cushion the fall and see you make it out alive. there is a pause hanging in the air as he dares to ask how you feel. truthfully, you don't know how you feel. its difficult enough to wrap your head around your time in the devildom as is- but this? this...absolute nightmare hand crafted specifically for you? a warm slice of anger burns your chest, but that feeling begins to evolve into pure rage as he keeps careful watch of your trembling form. "i'm angry," you tell him. "i'm quite angry."
solomon tells you how barbatos helped him dive head first into this concrete slab of a past. "it wasn't easy," he notes with a tut, "though i knew more than anyone that it could only be me following you." the lord of time, essentially father time himself, sent solomon into a potential death trap after you. instead of maybe…pulling you from the past? doing anything at all to get you back? "i don't think i understand, there was nothing more to be done?" your empty eyes look up to his, a matching look in them. the gentle hold of your hands tightens slightly as solomon holds himself at bay.
"any of the brothers from your time coming here would spell trouble, paradoxically so. believe me, all of them would have jumped to follow you if it weren't there own past." his voice is soft, though his words are firm. this is fact to him, and you are to be convinced. you still have yet to be as a retort quickly flies from your lips. "is this not your past as well?"
the sorcerer chooses silence. you take that as answer enough.
"...regardless," you begin again with a sigh, "can't i just get myself out of here? i still have the ring of light." one hand snakes out of solomons hold to reach into your pant pocket, producing the small heirloom item. it is twirled between your fingers for a moment. "this has got to be helpful in some way, right?" your hand extends to hold the ring infront of solomons face. he ponders this for a while, seemingly deep in thought. his head quirks to the side, brow furrowed. "if you remember, you were given this ring to better control and contain your power." his fingers reach up, plucking the ring from you to examine it for damage. "as we are in the long gone past now, your power...well, lets just say it is a lot weaker. your pacts don't exist here, at least not for hundreds of years." these words are what finally knock the harsh truth of it all into you. this isn't just the past, it is someone elses past. you do not exist, not even the concept of you. you are a mere speck of dust floating by in the wind.
you have never felt so small. so insignificant and worth absolutely nothing. your mind begins to buzz and jump from thought to thought of how your beloved demons don't care for you. you're nothing but an afterthought for them to send solomon after when you get too out of control.
"no," you speak outloud to yourself, shaking the thoughts away physically. a painful chill runs up your neck. "explain the power thing to me."
without missing a beat, solomon gives you a slow and thorough explanation of your power. reminding you of how it was in your actual time, and explaining why it is lesser here. there is obviously still a very fine line connecting you to them, shown earlier when you were able to command all seven brothers with one word. thinking back on it, a grimace crosses your face as you realize it could've been avoided had you only added the name 'satan' in front.
"so...do i understand correctly that i have to reforge- is that even the right word? since this is the past-" you stop yourself with a sigh, head dropping. "i have to reforge all of my pacts to even have a sliver of a chance at getting home?" his face is mostly blank as you scan it, trying to get a read on how he really feels about all of this. then, he nods and his lips part to speak.
"great." your own voice cuts him off. before solomon has a chance to react, you're crying. there is a strange empty look on your face, yet tears run harsh trails down your cheeks.
"hey, hey- i'm sorry," solomon slides the ring back into your pocket, snaking his hands up your arms to rub soft circles on the exposed skin. "i'm so sorry." pulling you closer, one hand rubs soothingly at your hair whilst the other keeps you firm against his chest. it scares solomon how emotionless you look, how dull your usually sparkling eyes seem. especially with the added contrast of tears and reddened skin.
there was of course a lot of talk before he was sent here about how you might react to all of this. lucifer was beside himself imagining how vulnerable you would be without their care. mammon felt like his world was ending thinking about you being alone, and unable to call him for help. there was simply no protecting you with this. leviathan and asmodeus had actually shared similar mindsets, just hoping you wouldn't be so frightened or worse- hurt, by their past selves. beelzebub for once in his entire existence wasn't hungry. his stomach hurt too bad thinking about you never returning. and the youngest, belphegor, hadn't expressed concerns at least outwardly. he waited until the moment him and solomon were alone, all but threatening the sorcerer to bring you back unharmed. promising a war against humanity that could rival the great celestial one if anything irreversible happened to you.
solomon had just not expected the strong and brave human he grew so fond of to cry.
still he holds you, even long after you calm down. your face is against his chest, one of his hands soothing your hair as the other holds you around your waist tightly. "i' want to go home." your voice is barely a whisper, muffled against his cape. he hears it anyways, hushing you softly. "i know, (your name). but," he unravels from around you, the loss of warmth causing a sadness in you as he tilts your chin up to meet his eyes. "i'm in this, too. and i wouldn't have come unprepared."
"i don't know how i can face them everyday and not falter. i mean, they just fell." he frowns lightly as you talk, thumb absentmindedly rubbing against your chin. "you will falter, i can't lie and say you will be fine. but as i said, i'm right here with you. okay?"
his words should be comforting, yet they rather make you more angry and emotional. solomon shouldn't have been dragged into this, given the role of saving you. there had to have been other things to do before it got to this point. but nevertheless, he is here now and it has already happened. you tell yourself that you should be thankful even a single person cared enough to break time just for the idea of your safety. with a small forced smile, you nod at him. "thank you for following me, solomon. if anyone can get out of this shit, its you." it doesn't go unnoticed the way his own smile falters for a moment.

So I finally watched The Marvels.
~SPOILERS AHEAD~
They missed the opportunity to actually say Wanda's name but it's totally fine 'cause this is not about her, but also, excuse me Miss Rambeau??? Monica is that powerful now and all because she visited Wanda's little Sims city a couple of times, like what? I love it. That old theory that Wanda was the one who gave Pietro's power is coming back stronger now
I strongly believe misogyny and racism are behind the flop of this movie, I had an amazing time watching it, whole thing was genuinely funny with relevant marvel lore and characters plots (the aliens are still fighting each other and blaming humans, but hey, colonialism and exploit of resources are the main reason we have to protect planets). Everyone loves when Peter Quill explores the galaxy but if three women do the same it's suddenly a problem.
A lot of people saying how tired they are of Marvel, were only tired of women doing the Marvel formula, don't believe those haters. Just like every other Marvel project, we have the hero journey and their blockbusters cliches, a lot of visual effects and jokes, LIKE EVERY OTHER MARVEL PROJECT, but sure, let's blame the girls for the failure. To me, it was really refreshing just to see women having fun and supporting each other and throwing little energy balls every now and then.
Also, the fact that Princess Carol is a fucking Star now? Pretty sure that got her killed in the What if series but good to know she's more powerful than that.
Kamala is the star of this movie, she's so funny and charming but also Monica and Carol angst got me crying and it was not enough!! I need more of their pain
I almost forgot, Miss Carol Danvers is all by herself in space just using a god damn TORTURE DEVICE to try to get her memories back, EXCUSE ME??? Someone gives this woman a hug, or idk, sent her to therapy with Bucky cause jesus Christ that's not healthy lady.
For the things I didn't like, the rhythm for sure. Such a quick movie, a lot of things happening, one minute I was crying the next I was giggling then crying again and then thinking about politics like slow down a little. I wanna digest the dialogues for a second.
THE SINGING PLANET I CANNOT-
Really funny movie, kamala's parents, the cats, everything was so easy going and cheerful even with the little angst moments, I had such a good time.
The best thing about this movie, as fanfic writer who gets truly frustrated with plot holes and stuff like that, it's that I will be able to watch it again. Movies from the first phases I used to love before I start writing, I can no longer enjoy the same 'cause I keep seeing how they don't make a fucking sense or have unbearable characters storylines and personality changes (yes I'm talking about Civil War and Age of Ultron or Ultimate, maybe STEVE ROGERS LEAVING BUCKY in a specific matter). This and also the fact they lack all kinds of minorities. Doctor Strange had like 2 women in the cast?? And don't even get me started on talking about what the sequel did to Wanda's character development.
The Marvels, Ragnarok, Black Widow, Captain Marvel, Captain America (1&2), Infinity War and Guardians of The Galaxy (all three), Black Panther (both), Ten Rings, Eternals, are still the only Marvel movies I actually enjoy rewatching, because they are projects that respect the characters established personalities and history and for origins ones like Eternals or Ten Rings, they are simply fun, what a crime for a movie to be just fun huh
All of the shows are worth rewatching (even Fury's one that I hated it), 'cause they were given time to develop into stuff and as a writer there's a lot for us to work it.
Btw, I'm not talking about Kate Bishop'cause I'm simply unable to process my happiness over seeing her again. I do think I might have a stroke once Yelena is back.

I finally watched the Dungeon Meshi episodes where Kabru meets Laios, and I don't think I agree with that video essayist.
A while ago, I watched a Dungeon Meshi video essay, discussing characters, despite me being very behind on the series, because social media keeps spoiling Dungeon Meshi for me anyway. Like, I was seeing Chimera-Falin on my Dashboard and timelines before I even knew that would happen to her. But thankfully, my usual immunity to spoilers has kept up. Ever since Madoka Magica proved a different experience for me, when I reached later episodes that I had not been already spoiled on, I had been worried that I was no longer indifferent to spoilers. But Dungeon Meshi has been spoiled to me, fairly frequently, and I still enjoy it.
That video essayist ABSOLUTELY HATED Kabru. I prefer to like characters. I have dropped several good series because of one or 2 characters that just irritated my dislike. So I was worried that listening to that video essayist's seething hatred of Kabru, would influence my first impressions of him and maybe even lead to be dropping Dungeon Meshi.
But strangely, I still don't sense anything really bad from Kabru. And a big reason, I think, is the reaction of his party members. Even when Kabru is killing someone, his party members just turn around, act unphased, and let him kill people. That tells me that they trust his judgement. That likely, they know Kabru to not be a threat to them, even if Kabru is killing someone else. That tells me that Kabru likely isn't some random, dangerous killer, but someone who rationally chooses to be dangerous only to those who deserve it, like actual threats. And it also speaks to how Kabru probably treats his comrades well. To not act horrified, they would either have to fully trust Kabru or just be sociopaths themselves. But what are the chances of getting together a group of sociopaths? (Sociopaths are too anti-social and would be too busy backstabbing each other anyway, right?)
I've seen some reactors frightened at Kabru simply talking about the common vital points of humanoids. And I don't understand why someone planning ahead of time, to defend themselves or fight in a dungeon, full of monsters, rivals, and possible murderers, would be a bad thing. I would expect someone, going into such a dangerous situation, to be thinking ahead of time, how to kill opponents. But apparently, some people/reactors think that anyone who thinks ahead of time how to dispatch enemies, makes them bad. There's nothing wrong with being a little cold-blooded. It's needed sometimes. Like when you explore a dangerous dungeon. And how is his lack of understanding how his demeanor could be considered scary to others, any different from Laios's lack of understanding of how strange he is to others? And people have been praising, up and down, Laios's lack of understanding how odd he is. I don't see why suddenly Kabru is considered "crossing a line", especially given their situation/environment. Some people get scared and make overly broad assumptions, just because a character isn't afraid to kill or has thought about killing. But killing can be done kindly, or dispensed with rational decision-making, or even be discerned to allow some justified, petty cruelty. Just casting a broad blanket of decisions on a character's morality, for simply engaging with death, seems odd to me.
I mean, the ease with which Kabru kills, analyzes, and manipulates people, might seem cold. But aren't a lot of his actions the type of proactive smarts that lots of people wish characters would have, instead of making stupid mistakes? Whenever there's an "idiot plot", it usually causes complaints about characters not noticing things, not analyzing, not deducing clues/foreshadowings, and not being more careful. People complain about characters hesitating or holding back when fighting. So why would people hate Kabru for doing those very things?
Well, that video essayist did explain that he just had a real life bad experience with manipulative, two-faced people, so he was biased against any character that reminded him of those false friends he had in real life. Even so, there are ways people act, which I've long not understood why it was frowned upon. I remember when I was younger, my sister and I discussing not understanding the disdain against being "two-faced". Why is it bad to have different demeanors when interacting with people that you have different relationships with? Some mannerisms aren't appropriate with other people, as they are with others. My sister and I both agreed that you wouldn't act the same way with parents as you would with friends, and you wouldn't act the same way with acquaintances as you would with close friends, etc. So what's wrong with tailoring your mannerisms to be appropriate for different relationship situations? Since then, I've often wondered if the American ideals about being constantly forthright just clash with our Asian(-American) ideals about appropriate mannerisms. So I don't understand disparaging Kabru for "holding his cards close" and being careful with Laios---who is mostly a stranger to him at the beginning, except that they suspect Laios's group has probably robbed them twice. If anything, Kabru has more reason to be smart by not telling Laios his true thoughts and carefully sculpting a non-threatening act.
Anyway, I'm glad that I'm able to disagree with that video essayist, proving that my perception of Kabru has not been influenced by his bias.
So far, I like Kabru. He's smart, in both his masks and fighting style. Also, I like cold-blooded killer archetypes without malice, that don't understand why killing efficiently is "strange". They're usually amusing. Or at least relatable, in their lack of understanding "normal human behavior/ideals". ...Though, I'm not quite sure yet if Kabru is exactly that archetype. But so far, I like what I see of him. I don't really sense anything bad.

Okay! I've missed out on talking about the past few episodes but the show quite literally finished today as far as we know so it's a good as time as any I suppose to talk!
So yep. Spoilers for The Ghost and Molly Mcgee's possible series finale below!
So! To start off, Jinx vs the human world!
It was alright! Had good moments, bit of a lacking song near the end but the VILLAIN SONG? pretty damn good! Rob Cantor knows how to make a villain song and make them GOOD good. The rest wasn't bad, I liked Molly gaining her power from any kinda positivity, which is boosted by good talk of her forever friend, the Chen family scenes (well, besides that kinda. strange. scene about Mrs Chen asking ollie about kids but disregarding that) were really good!
There had been some light speculation about Geoff being the one who spooked Ruben as a kid but it was mostly in humor, so that ending up being true was neat! Definitely funny but also neat. It was also nice to see more of the Chen family coming to terms with actual ghost stuff and Ruben learning to chill with the ghost hate.
Jinx was a fun villain! Her VA did an amazing job as always! She stole the show in nearly every scene she was in and it was cool to see a ghost actually try to go up against the human world, as the title would suggest. She did go out in a pretty cheesey way but eh I don't really think it was bad, the show's based on friendship anyway.
The overall plot wasn't bad, it took Molly outta the picture for most of it but ya know I guess I do get why. At least it was in an actually reasonable way, by the villain actually being competent. It was cool to see how Ghosts are kinda invincible, but especially with the Chairman's robe, the og Chairman was a good showcase of that terrifying power but was cut short, meanwhile Scratch wasn't really all that a good showcase cause it's just Scratch, who iiiiis lazy lol.
It all felt kinda. Safe. If that makes sense. Like there wasn't really a moment where I felt in suspense. It was still enjoyable mostly, but I didn't really feel myself getting too worried about what could happen.
So yea, like a 6 or 7 outta 10 from me 👍.
Now! For the finale!!! WOO
THAT WAS AN 8 OR 9 BABEY!
I'll be honest, a good amount of S2 hasn't been as good as S1 for me. When S2 is good, it's REALLY good like 100% Molly or All in the Mind or Faint of Art. It's just that S1 was just SO good, some of S2 falls flat to me.
That said, The End felt like a season 1 episode to me cause THAT was sooooo good.
I felt actual stuff with most of the scenes, I was actually getting worried while Moll called Adia, I did wanna shed a tear when the truth hit Scratch and they used the exact same line read in Episode 1 when Moll had called Scratch to come back when he ran away MAN IT WAS ALL SO GOOD.
And the songs. MAN. The first one was good, a banger but nothing too extravagant, even if it's about being extravagant. Scratch's song tho? THAT SONG? ABSOLUTELY LOVE. That fucking hit me so hard, I legitimately wanted to cry a bit cause the lyrics, the delivery, the instrumentals, it was all so damn good! And the ending credits song being something that calls back to the usual end credits' theme, man that was so fucking good.
Here comes the heavy truth!
So the most popular theory ended up being true. Scratch is indeed, the Wraith of Todd, the background character who had small resemblances to Scratch.
Honestly I'm not too sure how to feel about it. It wasn't exactly shoved in our faces and wasn't quite hinted at, all that much unless you reaaaally paid attention to certain things. It wasn't completely outta nowhere, but also it did feel a bit, ehhh. The execution of it all was just superb tho, the voice deliveries, the animation, all of it was so well done. So I'm not entirely sure how to feel about it right now, other than the fact they executed it really well.
The whole scene with Moll and Scratch talking about what could happen when Todd is alive again, man. That hit. It hit good. That actually made me feel more nervousness than most of the previous episodes. Man what can I say. They just nailed it.
And the ultimate ending, with Todd having the personality of Scratch and his little quirks, yet supposedly not retaining his memories from when he wasn't in his human body. I say supposedly, cause tbh? His callbacks felt a bit on the nose, almost exactly like how Scratch would be when he was messing with Molly. He is a trickster at heart after all.
Can't say for sure if he doesn't or does remember cause who knows! Maybe he doesn't, maybe he does. For now tho, it seems as tho he doesn't.
And tbh, I still enjoy it.
Is it bittersweet? Yes. Extremely melancholic? YES. But it's done so well. It didn't feel underwhelming, it felt sad yet done so in the right way.
Everyone trying their best to get him to remember got me ngl lol that was. That was sad man.
Also I saw the Bill and Bob's ok adventure book I see yall tgamm crew.
Todd leaves to see the world and see Adia. Leaving Brighton, and Scratch's new family behind. Again, really bittersweet but done right. Todd is happy to live, and so is everyone else for him.
What a good ending. Bittersweet to a T.
Yes. Yes indeed a 9 for me!
Now as most of us know S3 might not happen. Who knows due to what, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't cause of fan demand, cause I'm p sure there was a lotta that for this show. And this was a fairly good way to send off the show! It had a pretty good run and it was usually up there with BCG, TOH and amphibia when discussing disney channel shows thatve come these past years, and for good reason.
I'll be honest. I'm kinda already missing it. I remember fondly of watching it for the first time and the next episodes, especially when it had aired near my nephews birthday and I had been wrapping his presents. I still enjoy listening to the few podcast talks and whatnot the crew have done for the show. It feels so. Sad. To know we'll probably never get a continuation of anything from this show. Not even a book. But all good things as they say.
If they do continue it tho, I wonder how it'd go. Probably trying to convince Todd to remember who he is and was, his time as a Wraith and as a Mcgee.
But who knows! All I can say is, thank you The Ghost and Molly Mcgee. It's been great. Really. Thank you all.
Love yall ❤️✌️

Hazbin Hotel Announcement Prime video breakdown
Vivziepop posted a video today updating fans about the status of Hazbin Hotel and though a short video it does have some big things in it, and I wanted to do a bit of a breakdown going over what was in it along with the thoughts AND ideas I have related to the content. Spoilers, though is a promo video really that spoiling?
Hazbin Hotel is going to Prime. That sounds like a perfect place for the show to be on, since they have similar shows like Vivzie's creation on it already. I also personally like that this means the episodes will air weekly instead of releasing a whole season all at the once, which will be helpful for me as like I do with Helluva Boss I plan on doing "review" post on the series.
The Egg Bois are still around which is surprising as I honestly thought Vivzie got rid of them. Also though not a ray gun they found something Sir Pentious can finally use on them XD. It will be interesting to see them interacting with the other characters, especially Niffty as I strangely could see them having roles similar to hers like aiding her clean up the place, along with a bizarre scene where they make her their queen in one episode XD.
First season of Hazbin Hotel is coming January 2024! Awesome! Gives them a few more months to double check things and, though I hate to bring this up, change some things in case that "leak" was legit or not. Lets just hope it doesn't result in another "The Circus" situation.
Alastor just rotated his head 360 degrees!
That scene of Angel Dust dancing seems to show that he still works for Valentino at that point and though I see him finally getting away form the abusive moth sinner, it also gives me a random plot idea. Its obvious that Charlie trying to redeem Angel will be a big challenge but I bet things will finally start going when she convinces him to change careers leading to the funidea that during the process of redeeming him, Angel Dust and Charlie work in trying to change Angel from a pornstar to a POPSTAR!
Along with being an excuse for Angel to sing and dance more along with getting Lilith and Verosika Mayday involved in the story, a career like that would be fitting for Angel as he is already famous, loves attention, and entertaining others so a career in non sexual singing/dancing sounds like a good alternative. Not to mention Angel is always going to be slutty and flirty which is something he can deal with in a (somewhat) healthier manner through his music, and male back up dancers. It also sounds like an example of taking something bad and turning it into something good/better. Then there are plot points that can follow this like Valentino "coincidently" getting into the music producing business and wants to hire Angel, AKA another way to control him, but that is stopped thanks to Husk jumping in and taking over. I also have another idea related to Husk but more on that later.
LUCIFER! Vivize did say we were going to see him soon in the first season and this confirms it. The scene also seems to confirm an episode prediction I had as he seems to be arriving at the hotel around the time it opens, or in this case after Charlie and her new friends/employees are able to spruce up the hotel for a 2nd grand opening, and is likely at the hotel to talk Charlie out of going through with her redemption plan. I've mentioned this before but again given the shows history with dads, I'm hoping Lucifer isn't that bad of one. I'd be okay if he was flawed, like one of the reasons he could be at the hotel is cause its implied he is embarrassed by her daughters goals which is hurting his pride (you know one of his more recognizable traits) but it'd be followed by him also still caring about Charlie too, as another reason he is there could be that he knows Charlie's plan will get the attention of Heaven and he fears it will put Charlie in danger and he doesn't want his daughter to have an eternal target on her back like he does. This could be followed by a scene where though bummed out that Charlie is still going through with this, Lucifer still tells her he loves her when leaving the hotel. Another good scene that could help is that he instantly ask for a hug from Charlie when he arrives, along with another showing that Lucifer likes Vaggie, like he knows she and Charlie are going to get married one day and likes the two together and is also asking for hugs from her as well.
Looks like Vox and Alastor will have a duet in the season.
BABY CHARLIE BEING CARRIED BY LILITH! Seems like they did change Lilith a bit by making her hair all blonde instead of having a bit of red at the end end of her hair, which I kind of miss. This also seems to be on the day Charlie decides to stop the Exterminations. That or maybe she wanted to see/play with her father but he said no (casually in real life, but at her age Charlie thought it was the saddest thing he said to her XD) and is taking back to her room, likely starting the rift between her and Lucifer. I think we can agree the former is a better choice.
Adam and Lute (who I'm still thinking is Eve in a disguise) being portrayed as the villains. I still find that idea a bit odd but I'll be okay with it, espeically if they are just main villains of season 1 and are then demoted to reoccurring villains in the next season/phase of the show, allowing other angelic characters to "take up" the "angelic villain" role. If you don't get it then read the end of my HH premiere idea post.
Season 2 is also confirmed!!! The long wait was worth it!
Angel and Husk are hanging out together, and I predict shipping fan art of them soon. It also brings me back to my Angel Dust popstar idea, as again with Husk being Angel's manager could bring some drama to the show when Angel wants to date him but Husk is all rejective at first before wanting to date him too.
Vox being stereotypically evil.
AN OVERLORD MEETING AND... are they having it at one of Valentino's places? Either that or a random strip club which sounds like a common thing in Hell XD. We see Rosie, Velvette, Zilla, other unnamed characters, and Alastor. Im really surprised to see Alastor there as though I knew he was an Overlord, given his personality you think he wouldn't attend things like that as I could see him finding these kind of things boring.
We even have that scientist sinner from the pilot, makes sense given she was seen with that girl gathering Exorcist blades. Looking at her now I can see fan art of her being made with her acting like the Team Fortress 2 Medic XD.
The Overlords seem to be having a meeting about Exorcist, which makes me think that Lucifer created the Overlord class to act as a first line of defense against Heaven. Pride is the first ring of Hell and the one closest to Heaven, and with how Sinners are stronger than some races of demons I could see him recruiting them for his army in exchange for giving them their powers and businesses. It also makes me think that the Overlords are scared that Charlie's redemption plan could make Exterminations worse for Hell, and they will try and stop her throughout the series. I wonder how this will effect Alastor, like will other Overlords hate him since he is aiding Charlie's goals? Could he become a spy for the Overlords? Or worse work both sides as he actually WANTS a war between Heaven and Hell to happen as this is very entertaining to him? Only time will tell.
I liked the ending scene of a nervous Charlie being pranked by Angel as not only is that in character, but I like how Angel seems to make both demon horns AND angel wings, playing off Charlies DNA which I headcanon is 50% demon, 25% angel/fallen angel, and 25% human/sinner on her mom's side.
We are getting a lot in the first season of Hazbin Hotel and I can't wait to see what else happens in it. What did you like about the trailer? Do you think any of my predictions and ideas could happen? What do you think will happen in the first season based on the new scenes?

Been watching a few video edits of BCS and they still hits hard :( But Police Call Guy as Jimmy & Assistant as Kim actually fits now that I think of it...
There are some RH characters in my mind that could also fit as BCS characters, however I might not draw them due to my interest and energy in drawing it, they can only rent free in my head.
I hope you enjoy!
Also feel free to read my rambling abt Rhythm Heaven x Better Call Saul characters, I like doing these stuffs (just like what I did to Classical Composers on another post) but WARNING!! It will contain sensitive themes and spoilers from BCS series!
and might actually go nowhere lmfao
Police Call Guy - Saul Goodman / Jimmy McGill Jimmy has an alias "The Cell-Phone Guy", kinda have a similar ring to Police Call Guy lmao. I also imagined Call Guy would appear to be genuine and charming around people, but he would do anything for him to win even if it would hurt people around him. Like annoy his co-workers to get fired, scam to gain money together with his friend, steal from his family, etc. In the end, Call Guy turned himself in and confessed his guilt, he was later sentenced to life in prison (86 years). Imagine a police that eventually spends his life on prison due to his action.
Assistant - Kimberly "Kim" Wexler Kim is the girlfriend-turned-wife-turned-ex-wife of Jimmy McGill. Kim loves Jimmy for his kindness towards her, and returns this compassion to Jimmy on multiple occasions. However Kim felt remorse to her actions with Jimmy along the series. I imagined Assistant solving cases with Call Guy, she started to get influenced by him and she had fun. She also defends him whenever he did some unlawful actions or even he got mistreated by her boss (the executives) and Tucker.
Cpt. Tucker - Charles "Chuck" McGill Both name's are kinda similar too ig- but I could give some reasons why I could fill in Tucker as Chuck. In BCS, Chuck is Jimmy's older brother. He claims to suffer from electromagnetic hypersensitivity (causes headache, fatigue, stress, sleep disturbance, pain in muscle etc), he can't go near to anything that is electrical (even batteries, phone, watch, light) without a cloak of aluminum foil around him. Chuck was a lawyer and the co founder of HHM, but due to him not being able to go near electrical stuff, he retired for a while until it gets better. Chuck eventually returns, but he retired for good due to Jimmy. Now, what if ... Tucker was once a cop but he also has electromagnetic hypersensitivity so he retired, which is why he lives in the snowy areas with his seals to get away from electricity. The only way for him to get light is fire, torch, and candle lanterns.
The Executive(s) - Howard Hamlin I'll only be using one Executive instead of whole 4 of them, Howard Hamlin was Kim's boss and he's the owner of HHM. Not sure how to connect stuff from the original BCS, but I see the Assistant being under Executive, just like Kim under Howard.
LONG STORY SHORT... Police Call Guy is a conman who will eventually be sentenced for life in jail. Tucker and Police Call Guy are strangely related (not sure about this), both hates each other. Police Call Guy and Assistant were together for a moment but they broke up due to Assistant's trauma, she eventually felt remorse of her actions which is her reason of her break up. Executive is Assistant's boss and he was the founder.

Thoughts on TMNT: Mutant Mayhem
Without spoilers, I feel the need to say that to anyone considering the film just as a warning it does contain flashing lights, scenes that may trigger ementophobia, and severe body horror. Spoilers below:
I don't usually write my thoughts on films but I saw mutant mayhem today and I have MANY THOUGHTS and no one to talk to about them so here are some of my thoughts on the movie:
I really liked that Donatello wasn't portrayed as a super genius like he is in a lot of the other iterations, he is my favorite turtle and I don't dislike this characterization, but I do think that making him a more realistically nerdy kid helped him feel more like a normal teenager. (though I really did not like his interest in attack on titan like kid that's fascist propaganda get outta there!)
I loved how ugly all the baby mutants look and I mean this in the most affectionate way possible, baby superfly my beloved.
The shell cracking scene was BRUTAL, in fact the whole movie was kind of brutal like Splinter kills a man on screen I am very surprised that the age rating isn't higher, and it probably should have been anyway because it did seem like they were going for a darker tone at some points.
Speaking of, maybe I just missed some things but I feel like some scenes were cut or some context was left out because when the turtles leave TCRI with Splinter he says he is taking them home, but in the next scene we see them he's going with the turtles to stop superfly? Maybe I misheard or he was saying it as a joke but I was a little confused.
Speaking of, I really enjoyed the music and voices but was it just me or was it hard to make out what the turtles were saying sometimes?
The scene where the mutants accept the turtles also felt a bit oddly paced, and the mutated version of superfly confused me a bit because of the zoo animals mutated on him, though from what I read I guess when he fell through that building there was a zoo underneath? I don't remember them saying that though.
The ages of the characters was also a confusing point, Splinter explains that he and the turtles are different ages because he was mutated when he was older and they were mutated when they were young, but we see all the other mutants as babies in Baxter's lab so how come they are different ages? The only thought I have would be maybe they age differently depending on how their animal counterpart ages but I really have no idea.
I don't know how I feel about Leo's crush on April but I do think it was handled better than Donnie's crush in the 2012 version of TMNT, and I like that it wasn't the main focus of their relationship.
I feel like some of the mutants should have been used more? I don't remember a whole lot about Leatherhead, Ray Filet, and Genghis, there's a big cast of characters so it isn't too big a problem, but it was noticeable.
I really love the found family aspect of the film though, it's cool seeing the mutants be a lot more humanized than the other series, and I thought the Scumbug and Splinter relationship was a welcome surprise. (Though it's also a little unfortunate cause she was kind of a baddie and I don't want to be in a polycule with Splinter /hj)
I really liked this version of Splinter though I thought his design was very cute and I thought the difference between him and Superfly in terms of how they reacted to more or less the same predicament made them really good foils to one another.
I need to get my grubby little hands on the model for Superfly's final form oh my god not enough people are talking about that thing and I don't know whether I adore it or absolutely hate it because it taps into a very specific fear that I have of designs like that but I also love it because of that like he is SO horrific and I need to fully understand everything going on in that design right now.
I really loved the art style, I thought it was a bit strange at first but after I got used to it I love just how much fun the shapes are in this movie!
I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the ending; I'm not entirely sure what message I am supposed to take away from it. Upon first viewing it seemed like the movie was communicating that the reason the turtles became liked was because they saved people, and that was the only reason they would ever be accepted- and April supports that fact at the beginning of the movie too. They're teenagers, and I think it is incredibly unfair that they would have to save the entire city just to be treated like kids instead of monsters, and it's even stranger because the only reason the public's opinion of them changes is because they are fighting a "bad" mutant. Which- maybe it's better that they see Superfly as bad instead of every mutant but I still think there's something kind of strange about that ordeal, I mean if any new mutants showed up will humans assume they're "good" like the turtles, or will they think they are "bad" like Superfly? Are the turtles and the others only accepted because they got rid of a "bad" member of their kind? I feel like that has some odd implications, though I guess I'm not supposed to think about it that much. But after thinking on it more, maybe it's moreso supposed to be about how instead of wanting to destroy the world, they tried to work to change and improve it, and that's what got them accepted, being "good" despite the circumstances. I feel like the latter is the more intended message, but I can see how the former could still be interpreted as well, I suppose it depends on how you look at it.
Overall I really enjoyed the movie, I didn't like it more than Rise's film, which is my favorite TMNT movie, but I think it is a close second! I'm excited to see where Mutant Mayhem goes from here!

Full TLT series to date thoughts on rereading Nona the Ninth, chapters 9-12
A probably semi-regular weekly bonus to my reread blog, since sometimes you realize things on reread that just make you need to yell in a full spoiler space.
Nona loves to swim in the ocean. The Earth loves to be surrounded by saltwater and reminded of her home and her happiest times before she was jammed into a strange human body like the Last Unicorn.
How did Varun know to find Nona here? How did he feel her? Was it when she touched the saltwater and remembered? Did she send out some psychic signal?
I just can't help myself with drawing attention to Nona's tantrum talk. I love it so much. It seems so inconsequential right up until it really, REALLY ISN'T. :D
The foreshadowing on Paul is great. I'm gonna have to come back to this chapter between now and that reveal, and review some Paul the Apostle literature, and figure out if there's deeper reference in this momentary synthesis.
But, Pyrrha's conversation with Varun! I'd entirely missed that on my first read.
G1deon's scars on what's now Pyrrha's body. The explosion. We got hints of how scarred he was in Harrow, but I'd forgotten the details.
I hadn't looked up the John verses on my first run but now, in retrospect, they're ALL standing out to me so much in relevance to their respective chapters. In the first one, a disciple believes after seeing (the conversion of Cassie to their side). Second, God showing Jesus miracles he may also do (John's love causing Earth to preserve his favourite bodies, showing him what he may do later (gross, but relevant)). Third, about hating Jesus meaning hating God (on the chapter focusing a lot on the people trying to shut them down).
And here, fourth, "making himself equal to God" (as he learns to use his necromancy). And, okay, while I don't love the imagery of "the Jews sought the more to kill him" (we don't stay quiet for antisemitism here when we know better, especially not when it's being used in a layer to describe the ultrawealthy) but we know that the trillionaires are increasingly scheming against John in the background and you can't split one part of the verse from the other.
Still, I wouldn't have appreciated it on my first read last September, I was in too much of a rush for the plot, but goddamn is it all bowling me over now. Can't wait to look up the others as I read them.
JUNO ZETA! Since reading Doctor Sex I've come around a lot on the fan love of her character. On first read, I had no clue why I should care about what was going on with the Sixth beyond caring about Pal and Cam.
Also, they'll have a Lyctor or equivalent... does Cam, or perhaps Pal at this point, know how close they are to becoming Paul?

Favorite Final Fantasy Music (FFXIV - Heavensward)
something something award-winning something something It's the first expansion!!! Heavensward admittedly isn't my favorite out of all of XIV soundtrack-wise, and it really was hard to not just make this Favorite Alexander Music, but like, it still rocks, and the only reason I feel like this is cause the vibes just aren't mine stupid religion elves how dare they hate dragons; it's still amazing. Let's jump (like a dragoon!) right into the list!
5. Voidal Manifest I love the Void Ark music. I love the organ and the melody, and this is my favorite song in the entire raid. The crazed, skittering nature of a lot of the instruments, the choir, and the really cool waltz section: it's all super cool. I also really love the short intermission before the song loops again, where it has the melody play really quickly with like, evil christmas instruments?? It's just a really fun song to listen to.
4. Heavy Rain This is probably the strangest pick I have in this list, and I bet not a lot of people ever paid attention to it. This plays exclusively in the top of the Sea of Clouds, in the very small enemy Vanu Vanu area. It's just, a banger for no reason? Extremely fun rhythm, making the otherwise slower melody really upbeat and bouncy. I love the really strange noises in the backing, as well as the marimba heading the song. Heavy Rain is a really addicting song, and I wish it played in more areas that I was more commonly in so I could hear it more also insert joke about team aqua and kyogre
3. Metal When I was really starting my XIV fever, I would listen to the soundtrack, seeing what might be ahead; Metal was the standout during that time for sure. I was so excited to reach the Alexander raids to listen to this song alone, and GODDAMN do those raids not disappoint! The entire raid is full of bangers!!!! The intro with the anvil striking noises as well as the rhythmic guitar really giving that machine vibe, and Koji Fox's voice sounding like a robot as well??? It's so cool. I love how similar to my previous favorite primal songs, this song sounds like it's sung by the summoners of the primal, in this case the Goblins, being entirely sung in gobbiespeak, these silly little words threatening to break and maim and end you with various machine onomatopoeia being thrown in? It's such a cool song, I love singing along to it. A part I really like that I want to point out to other than like, the rest of the song, is "THE END OHHHH THE END Y E S THE ENNND".
2. Fiend Fiend is something that I would listen to on the radio growing up; this is some fuckin hot topic 2000s edge metal, and I love it (I know the technical genre is nu metal/industrial metal, but I just find it funny calling it hot topic music). This song slaps; it uses a lot of really cool noises, the lyrics are super fun to listen to, especially with that really heavy beating in the background. I absolutely love the chorus, something about how it sounds is addicting to my ears. Lore/meaning wise, it's really cool how this song gives more character to Sephirot, giving him that corrupting nature to create dependence and a power dynamic, like a devil (even though he's the fiend and not the demon). Shoutouts to this song also having Powerman 5000 say "you stole our song" (it does sound similar).
1. Rise As I've pretty much said twice now already; The Alexander raids have the best music in this entire expansion. Hell, if it wasn't for Pandaemonium existing (spoilers for later), it would easily be my favorite raid soundtrack in the entire game. Rise is an absolutely outstanding finale to this amazing raid featuring one of my favorite summons in the entire series. That intro alone: the siren noise as this giant machine shoots a fucking laser at you, and Alexander Prime himself revealing his wings ala FFIX when the lyrics pop in, it's amazing. Absolute props to Koji Fox for his rapping in this song ("Keep the lightning bottled, throttled, throttle to the finish" in that short time??? holy shit?????). The singing really is my favorite part of this song, especially the chorus with A TO THE L TO THE E-X ANDER it's so fucking cool! The instrumental isn't the main star of the song for sure, but it makes a perfect support to the lyrics. The guitar and drums just give that rock that you can bang your head to. I love in the Primals version where they also interrupt the song midway through with Stasis Loop, just like the fight. It's a final boss song I would have never expected going into this game originally. (SONIC BOOM!)
Honorable mentions go to: Teardrops in the Rain (literally almost made it), Solid, Jewel, The Hand That Gives The Rose, Unbending Steel, Limitless Blue, Woe That Is Madness, Ink Long Dry, Aetherpause; Sins of the Father, Sins of the Son; Locus, Metal - Brute Justice Mode, Exponential Entropy, Moebius (basically the entire Alexander OST), Equilibrium, Penultimania, and Infinity.

YESS we can, I've never seen anything but good reviews for this book, and by reviews I meant a bunch of tropes listed that don't actually tell me nothing about the plot so, please, please share with us about your reading experience thank <3
Aksjdmdkzkjdd alright alright I shall share my reading experience of this book through the lense of an asexual person who really likes fantasy novels because I think world building is really cool and could only read like a few chapters before getting so frustrated with it, it is hiding in the back of my book shelves :)
Spoilers obvs ajdhkdkd
Number one, there is very little world building. The author kind of explains things but it is obviously not the authors main focus cause most of the world building we get is "There's elves :) and they have magic :0 and won't you know it, they hate humans !!!" We also learn that all of elves are cursed to wear masquerade masks for their entire lives which is explained to us with the emotional depth of that one scene in trolls.
Number two, the elves hate the humans except this very mysterious handsome elven prince that has taken an interest in this one main character because he just "see something in her 😊" we learn that the elves live excluded from the rest of the world, divided off by a giant wall. The book obviously makes you feel like the main character is going to be the key to making the elves and the humans live in harmony again. Because duh.
Number three, do not take this as a stab towards the main character. I personally think she's a great main character who's head strong and does what she needs to to survive. She's make the perfect main character for any fantasy novel but since I personally don't like romance novels and I always see romance as "pulling the main character down into a love interest" it just doesn't do it for me. I mean she was a little a bland but I think that's just how the writing is. Which leads me into
Number 4, the writing is very one dimensional. I feel like the author was trying to make the writing interesting and powerful but they fell short and it was just kinda meh. For example after the main character kills a wolf and sells the hide we are lead to belive its a fay. So the author brings in this bad ass huntress who is covered in battle scars and has seen horrors beyond the compression of our mortal minds. The main character sells the wolf hide to her and asks if its a fey after the huntress gives some ominous warning that the elves were beginning to grow a lot more brave, getting closer and closer to towns. She's like "hmm it doesn't look like to be a fey hide but it is an impressive game :]" and you're like great! No author would purposefully mislead us like that after bringing in a clearly experienced character that seems to know what their talking about. Because if they did that would just be a waste of a scene a waste of a character and a waste of my time because that is just sloppy writing. I mean come on hahahaha
Oh fucking wait it was an elf this entire time! Haha! The author sure did trick you! Hahaha! And there other small details that are super inconsistent that I do not want to get into.
I was recommended this book multiple times and it's really popular so obviously there must be a reason and I personally didn't get very far into the book. My judgment just might not be fully flushed out and I may eventually go back and try to read more. It just doesn't do it for me.
However, if you want a YA fantasy series that I 100% recommend you should definitely give Odin's Child a try!!
I read the book in 2 days I couldn't put it down. It's got a good female protagonist with a a really well written out slow burn in it (so good that I even vibe with it which is hard for me to do) and this series kind of pulls a reverse on you. The world its describing is considered normal, yet OUR world is considered strange and hell like. There a three books in total and I'm only the second, but if the other two are like the first one I have no doubts it'll be good. The writing is really well thought out, the world building is so so good. It builds off of classic troupes and flips it right on its head.
I won't spoil anything just in case lmaoo
Anyways I'm done ranting and it is time for me to sleep :) gn

also (same anon as before) tell me how you felt about qoaad!! any predictions for twp?
if you haven’t, i recommend reading the novella books:
- the bane chronicles is fun especially if you like magnus.
- tftsa was so cute i loved her (read nothing but shadows before you read tlh)!!
- ghosts of the shadow market is definitely super important for world building for tlh and twp, so i strongly recommend reading it before them (it could be a little boring at times, i admit. but jessa is adorable). read cast long shadows and every exquisite thing before you read tlh. the rest is a lot of world building for kit’s background and jessa.
- OH OH also read the tec series if you haven’t (it follows malec) and i think it’ll eventually connect to twp.
- i believe cassie has these short stories about the tlh cast set before chain of gold. i remember reading them every month on her newsletter before the book came out. i think you can find them on her website? they’re not super important but they do get referenced once in a while in tlh
you probably know all of this and i probably mansplained (can you do that if you’re a girl?) everything 😭 but it’s better to be safe than sorry!! i hope you had fun reading everything and def let me know if you have any questions!
I'm gonna do my best to answer this in a comprehensive manner (let's see how long that lasts lol). You're my fave! (feel free to pop into my messages if you ever wanna chat or anything)
Okay I'm gonna start by saying that I had a strange relationship w TDA. I mentioned some of this in my initial post but I'm just gonna go through everything for continuity sake, if you will. Last summer I intended to finish the 3 series before my semester started. I got through all of TMI and TID but finished only LM and 150-ish pages of LoS. I waited till this summer to pick back up. I remember feeling bitter when I started LM because it was strange to have a modern-set book that didn't focus on my fave TMI gang (I watched the CoB movie religiously when I was younger and, before I knew better, watched the show weekly). It took me a while for Emma to grow on me and I initially had a hard time keeping track of all of the Blackthorns because there were so many of them. What kept me going were all of the connections to Mr. Poe (yes, I just called him that. deal with it.) I've started rambling so let me summarize this portion by saying that TDA didn't snatch me up until mid-LoS. okay, onward.
QoAaD was so reminiscent of CoHF and I loved it very much. WARNING SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO MAY READ THIS FOR SOME UNGODLY REASON. I appreciate the importance of the Thule portion and know the book would be shit without it, but, despite it still being fantastical, the apocalyptic vibe was not my fave. It was nice to get Livvy back for a bit (can I just say how shocking it was to have her death right after Robert? cause I feel like cc v rarely kills important characters so I thought Robert was fulfilling the death requirement yk?) and I LOVE to hate Sebastian. I'm gonna say something crazy here. I love Kit and Kieran more than I love a majority of the Blackthorns. Kit has been my fave character from this trilogy and I am not ashamed to admit it. The entire Ty Livvy spell shit was crazy because I completely felt Kit and wasn't angry at him for not outright saying that it was a bad idea, especially given the situation. I just can't believe cc had me expecting them to be fully in love with each other by then end, ONLY FOR THEM TO NOT EVEN BE ON SPEAKING TERMS (yes I know I need to be up to date w SoBH, I just need business day or two to marinate in my TDA emotions). The battle was epic, Julien's meeting was genius, Kieran is a great king, and the Malec wedding nearly had me sobbing. I'm gonna stop here w my thoughts on QoAaD cause it's getting out of hand. I am so sorry I am typing you up a full essay.
Predictions:
watch cc give us a 3rd plot that gets crazy because of some questionable heavenly fire incident (I mean, technically all three series plots that I've read have involved it if you count Jace's affect on Jem).
I'm super worried about a main character death because I think it would shatter me but it's also probably necessary? idk I dont wanna think about it
I also feel like something crazy is gonna happen to Aline and Helen because although they were literally exiled, nothing too traumatic happened to them in the main line of the story that the reader got to directly experience
not a prediction but truly me BEGGING ON MY KNEES for Jace and Kit content. I need them to be drama Herondales together. Also, Jace literally told him to come to him for personal advice so Jace helping Kit deal w his relationship w/feelings for Ty would be ideal (I really don't know how that would happen but let a person dream)
Final Segment:
Don't worry about mansplaining, youre good bae. I'm in the loop but I'm also not at the same time, if that makes any sense at all (there goes my promise of writing in a comprehensive manner). The only reason I haven't purchased the novellas is solely because it's more efficient for me to purchase a box set of a trilogy. (I do have the Codex and The Denizens of the Downworld books though). CC has done her best to make her world make sense but that woman writes up a storm and no matter what I'm always behind lol.
#wren answers#tda#the shadowhunter chronicles#tsc#tmi#the mortal instruments#the dark artifices#1st anon#I hope you don't hate me for writing so much in response#I have absolutely no one to discuss any of this with

Until You're Ready (Ft. Beelzebub and GN!MC)
Warnings: Season one spoilers, mentions of death and murder, panic attacks, implied romantic relationship.
Length: 1.4k words
Genre: Angst, hurt, comfort.
Summary: You've been avoiding Beel ever since Belphie's return. He wants to know why.
This fic is part 3 of an ongoing series of oneshots, here are the links to the other parts:
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 (You are here) |
Hey, look who's still active! (It's me :D) So...this is actually my 100th post on this blog! So I figured it was only right to continue the series of one-shots regarding lesson 16. If you were one of my early followers, you'll know that 'Selfish' was the first post I ever made on this blog. (Except maybe those ones I made trying to figure out how to use Tumblr I don't remember if that was before or after. They're deleted now. I'm sorry if you had to see those-)
Anyways, I tried to tag the right warnings, but if I missed one, please feel free to let me know! I hope you enjoy the story!
-Ethereal (✿◡‿◡)
Story below, please don't claim as your own!
The week Belphie came back, everything was off.
Lucifer would always brush against you before you left the house.
Mammon somehow managed to be even more protective, keeping an arm around your waist at all times and growling whenever someone got too close. Including his brothers.
Levi hated leaving the house, but he would always go with you if no one else could.
Satan cut his reading time in half and spent more of it with you.
Asmo would spend less time out, and more time in your room, gossiping and having spa days.
You were a lot quieter than usual, and when you were home, you never left your room. You also spent a lot more time out with the members of Purgatory Hall, the residents of the castle, or with your other friends from RAD.
All of that was unusual, but things were especially off for the twins. You were avoiding Belphegor, which was disappointing, but not surprising.
You avoiding Beel was both.
He could definitely understand why Belphie wasn’t at the top of your hang-out list, but why were you shutting him out too?
Had he done something wrong too?
He wanted to find out.
Nothing in his recent memory seemed bad enough for this level of tension between you two. He accidentally ate your yogurt the other day, but you assured him over and over again that it really wasn’t that big of a deal.
And now that he was thinking about it, that whole yogurt thing didn’t happen until after you were already acting strange.
Well, it doesn’t really matter what caused it, does it? The fact is, you were avoiding him, and he wanted to find out why so he can could go back to spending time with you.
Finally outside your door, he faintly heard Lucifer’s voice. Sounded like he was assisting you with one of your latest homework assignments.
Hopefully you wouldn’t mind his interruption.
He knocked a few times.
“Who is it?” You called tentatively.
“It’s Beel.”
“Alright,” you answered, prompting him to come in.
As expected, you and Lucifer were seated at the large wooden desk in your room.
“We need to talk,” he informed you. He glanced at his older brother for a split second, then back to you. “Alone.”
Lucifer looked to you, a silent question. You rolled your eyes, waving your hand as if you were literally trying to brush off his concern.
Lucifer scoffed, gathering his papers. “Very well. I’ll be on my way. I’ll be in my study if you need me,” though that last comment was more directed towards you than Beel.
You realized Beel hadn’t moved from his position, so you moved from your desk to his bed. You scooted to one side, then patted the space next to you.
Beel sat down, though he was cautious not to sit too close to you. Not till he figured out what was wrong.
“So…what’s up?” You asked, giving him a slightly-off smile.
He figured it would be easiest to just come out and ask the question that’s been bothering him the past week. “Have you been avoiding me?”
There was a beat of silence, and your gaze fell to the floor.
“It’s…been a really weird week.” That much was true. Your circumstances were pretty much one of a kind. “There’s been…a lot happening.”
You fell into thought for a moment, then shook yourself out of it. You can’t dwell on…that for very long or you would fall apart it.
“Ahaha.” You let out the most unconvincing laugh, shaking your head. “Anyways, I’m sorry if I’ve been weird.”
“That’s the thing. It’s just me and Belphie-“ you visibly flinch at his name “-who…you’re acting weird with…is this about Belphie?”
The second he asked that, he felt stupid. Of course it was.
The look on your face shows that he hit the nail on the head. “It…it’s complicated,” you answered. Your smile was becoming faker by the second.
“Could you try?” he prompted.
You opened your mouth, then just a quickly closed it. You shook your head, the smile dropping off your face completely .
He didn’t know if this was better or worse.
He waited a moment as you tried to gather your thoughts.
“I know you’re happy Belphegor is back.” That wasn’t a question, that was a fact that both of you knew.
He nodded, encouraging you to continue.
“Which makes sense. He’s your brother, and…I don’t blame you for being excited about his return.” You paused. “But like…I just…can’t with him right now,” you said, unable to phrase it any better. “Honestly, I kind of wish I just left-“ You cut yourself off, cringing.
“Left him up there?” He finished your sentence, though there was no judgement. Just understanding.
You looked..almost ashamed. “Yeah.” Your voice broke, but you continued. “And I know you’re excited he’s back, but I don’t want to…think about him, like, at all right now.”
Beel scooted closer to you, throwing an arm around your shoulder and pulling you towards him. “That’s fair.”
“You think so?” You sounded surprised.
He smiled sadly, though you couldn’t see it. “I love Belphie, but I love you too. And it makes me mad when people hurt people I love. Even if I love them too. If you’re mad at Belphie, that’s okay.”
“Mad doesn’t quite cover it,” You mumbled.
“How do you feel?” He asked.
“…honestly?” You asked.
He nodded. “Always.”
“Okay.” You paused. “I’m mad at him because he hurt me. I’m mad at myself because I was stupid enough to trust him. I’m… scared, because…I’m scared it’ll happen again. You’d think with the amount of times I’ve almost been killed would’ve gotten me used to it, but…nope,” you exhaled hard, a weak laugh at something that really wasn’t funny. “…I think the worst part is that I miss him.”
“You do?” Beel asked. “I know where he is, if you want to see him.”
Your response was instant, freezing up and clutching him tightly. “No, no, no, I don’t want to,” you repeated insistently.
This wasn’t what he was trying to do.
He immediately settled back on the bed. “Okay, okay, I’m sorry.” He pulled you with him so you two were cuddling against the pillows. “Maybe I misunderstood what you meant.”
You nodded, trying to slow your breathing. You hadn’t quite crossed the line to a full-on panic attack, so it wasn’t as hard as it could’ve been.
He rubbed your arm soothingly, and eventually your iron grip on his shirt ceased.
“I’m not making you see him if you don’t want to.”
“I don’t want,” you managed to gasp out after a second.
“Message received.” He flashed a thumbs up as double confirmation.
“Okay.”
There was another pause before you spoke again.
“What I meant was, I miss the version of him that I knew. I don’t even know how much of it was actually him, and how much of it was a façade.”
“I do,” Beel said, causing you to shoot him a questioning glance. “You know Belphie and I share a telepathy link, right?”
You nodded.
“That means I can tell when he’s lying.”
“Really?”
“Mhm. Is there anything you want to know?”
“Is he sorry?” Your reply was instant.
“He is,” he answered. “He’s…so sorry.” Beel could’ve told you for certain that the guilt ate his brother alive, but he didn’t want to guilt-trip you either. “He wants to apologize, but he’s not sure how he would even start. He’s not sure you’d even want him to.”
“Honestly, I don’t know either,” you admit.
“That’s okay,” Beel said. “He’s the one who’s in the wrong here. He can wait for an answer until you’re ready to give one.”
You nodded, grateful for his acceptance. “Thank you.”
Beel hesitated before he spoke again. “And honestly, if you ever do decide to talk to him, I’ll be there to support you. And only you. I’m on your side with this.” He tugged you closer, gently kissing your forehead.
“That…that means a lot,” you said. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” He kissed the top of your head. “Now…I hate to ruin the moment, but I’m starting to get a little hungry…” his stomach growled.
You giggled, wiping away the tears you didn't know had fallen. “Okay. Let’s go grab something to eat.”
“You’re okay with leaving your room?” He asked.
You looked a little unsure, but nodded anyways. “Promise to stay with me, though?”
“Of course.” Gently pushing you up, he sat up as well. “I’ll always stay with you. Now, come on. I want to eat some food with you.”

what is utahime’s role in the future? — a prediction (manga spoilers)
part 1 (unedited)
I WAS ABOUT TO POST IT BUT I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED IT AND I WAS SO HURT FR!!!!! I HAD REWRITE THIS ENTIRE THING </33
part 2 is here!
in this post, i will be analyzing the information we’ve been given about utahime so far to form a prediction about her future role in the jujutsu kaisen series. if you’re as interested in utahime’s character as i am, please feel free to keep reading :3 (i’ll also be talking about her relationship with gojo a bit too)
soukatsu_ on twt!
kaikaikitan on twt!
utahime iori is a semi-grade 1 sorcerer working as a student supervisor/teacher at kyoto jujutsu high school. she loves drinking beer and going to karaoke. she’s also close friends with shoko and she’s not particularly fond of gojo most of the time. what else do we know about her?
hates sweets (funny she’s the complete opposite of gojo)
she’s great at singing and it’s a huge part of her technique
squabbling with gojo became a reflex :3
everyone absolutely adores utahime
loves watching soccer and baseball
a terrible drunk (worse than naobito zenin)
gojo is her main source of stress
let’s dive into her personality and abilities!
chapter 65
before i get into it, i think it’d be best if i were to explain the timeline because a lot of people seem to be confused about this one particular thing. utahime is born on february 18th, 1987. contrary to popular belief, she is not 3 years older than gojo. it is november 2018 in the story because gojo was sealed on halloween. if gojo was born on december 7th, 1989, that would mean that right now, he is only 28 years old. he has yet to turn 29.
the year is 2007. gojo satoru is a second year at tokyo jujutsu high school. the japanese school year begins in april which suggests that gojo is only 17 at the time (even if it’s not april, it doesn’t look like winter yet so it’s unlikely that he’s already 18). utahime is 20 because it is past february. she is a 2nd grade sorcerer at the age of 20. that’s not bad at all!
chapter 65 introduces young utahime and mei on a mission together within a cursed site. in real time, they’ve been gone for two days which is a cause of concern for gojo, shoko, and geto because the two haven’t contacted anyone since the beginning of their mission. the two begin to suspect something is wrong because the hallway markers they’ve set in place disappeared, and no matter how far they travel within the halls, the end is nowhere in sight. mei theorizes that the cursed spirit is overlapping the space as they travel forward. utahime agrees with this speculation and proposes a plan to escape the cursed spirit’s grasp by moving erratically. notice how she says that if one of them should escape, they can try to attack from the outside or call for help. if utahime was not capable of inflicting damage on anything then she would have told mei to escape and attack if she can while she waited to be rescued. however, she didn’t. she included herself in the sentence which leads me to believe that she is capable of going on the offense if needed.
keep in mind that at this point in time, mei is a grade 1 sorcerer. she is knowledgeable about all things involving jujutsu because she is experienced and skillful. we can see this aspect of her character illustrated when she theorizes that the cursed spirit is messing with the space they’re in. she chooses to go with utahime’s plan because she agrees that it’s the best action moving forward. this verifies that utahime is an intelligent girl that’s able to get along with pretty much anyone.
her intellect is demonstrated once again in chapter 79. she was able to deduce the possibility of there being more than one traitor and the fact that one is probably a higher up. she also narrowed down the mechamaru as the mole of kyoto not because he was acting suspicious but by process of elimination. she thought thoroughly of his technique and how easy it would be for him to manipulate devices small enough to be undetectable.
sure you can argue that she should already know all her students’ abilities and whatnot but you have to admit that it’s hard trying to sniff out the traitor when no one is acting suspicious. in addition to that, how did she know that there was a traitor in the top brass? i would have never guessed that tbh LOL (maybe bc im an idiot).
okay, now that we have established that she’s intelligent, let’s answer a more important question. is utahime weak?
chapter 33
if gojo calls utahime weak, does that mean there is some truth to it? well it is true that she is weaker than him because he’s the strongest and all. in my opinion, he’s just teasing her. he probably found that calling her weak is what really riles her up. maybe i’ll talk about why he loves teasing her so much in a later post. but anyway, gojo calls everybody and their mom weak. he even said jogo was weak and we know how powerful that guy is. gojo’s words alone do not indicate much about utahime’s power. in fact, i don’t even think he has seen her use her technique yet. he’s probably only ever heard of how it works. this is what i think their conversation about her technique was like:
gojo: hm? ur cursed technique is singing? can u show me?
utahime: what! no way!
gojo: why not?
*one of the classmates tells him that she can only use her CT once in a while because it consumes a lot of energy*
gojo: hahaha! u have to conserve cursed energy to use ur CT? why are u so weak, utahime?
utahime: i! am! your! senpai! respect! me!
what i’m trying to say is that gojo loves poking fun of people. we should not believe him when he calls someone weak because compared to him, everyone is weak.
this is a little off topic but let’s examine him telling her, “and you don’t have the nerves, utahime.” i think he’s trying to say that there’s no way she’ll ever do something like that because she’s not the type to put her students in danger. remember the soft expression and relieved smile on her lips when she said that she was glad the students were safe after the kyoto incident? gojo was directly in front of her so not only did he hear her say that, but he could have seen the look on her face too. even if he told her that she didn’t have the guts to betray the school to get on her nerves, he knew that utahime simply cared too much about the students so he ruled her out as a suspect right away. this is why he ultimately decided to confide in her and ask her to help him.
i’m a person who loves over-analyzing things. i really enjoy the dynamic between gojo and utahime. they’ve known each other for more than 11 years and although they always bicker, there is an unspoken feeling of trust between the two. gojo can do anything and everything by himself because he is truly the strongest person alive, but he still knows when to rely on others. him deciding to entrust utahime with such a job implies that he believes in utahime’s abilities.
chapter 52
she’s not using any cursed energy here--not to our knowledge at least. this is just pure skill. she was able to swiftly evade the swing from haruta. he was surprised himself considering the fact that he was right behind her. how do we know her CT isn’t speed? after haruta swung at her, we can see that some of her hair got cut off. if she was using her CT then speed should be her specialty. she should have been able to completely avoid the attack altogether but she didn’t. of course this isn’t a wow moment because jujutsu sorcerers should know how to dodge attacks, however, i’m just trying to get the point across that she’s not a defenseless person without her technique or others. let’s not forget that semi-grade 1 isn’t a weak rank either. you can’t simply be recommended to be a grade 1 sorcerer if you only can support others.
chapter 48
i want to bring up this panel. it suggests that utahime and takuma are sorcerers who have not experienced black flash and therefore, do not understand the essence of cursed energy as well as those who have like gojo and nanami. i find it strange how takuma and utahime were used to represent sorcerers who haven’t experienced it yet. is the purpose to demonstrate that there is a clear difference in skill between adult sorcerers like utahime and takuma compared to gojo and nanami? i could be nitpicking but the order of todo’s statement doesn’t line up with the sorcerers being shown. let me explain in depth. todo starts off by saying, “for those who have experienced black flash as compared to those who have not...” wouldn’t it make more sense to show gojo and nanami on the right side to represent sorcerers who have experienced black flash? that was mentioned first, after all. gojo and nanami should appear when todo says “for those who have experience black flash” while utahime and takuma should be shown right after to personify the second part, “as compared to those who have not.” i’m just making it more complicated than it actually is LOLOL i’m sure it really just means they haven’t experienced black flash yet, which is completely fine. i also find it fascinating how they used utahime to contrast gojo. with nanami and takuma it makes sense. nanami is someone takuma looks up to, he wants to gain nanami’s approval before he deems himself worthy of a promotion. what about utahime and gojo? what’s the purpose of comparing those two together when it’s obvious that gojo knows more about the essence of cursed energy more than anyone else? i might be delusional whoops
----
let me know what you guys think? this is only a part 1 so i haven’t gotten around to answering the question. i’m pretty much done with the second part, i just need to revise it a little. i think after i post part 2, i’ll try to interpret all the gojo and utahime moments in the manga >.<
