if that's the movie I think it is I did rate it a while after watching but like. the ending was so bad & infuriating in combination with it's really obvious and actually otherwise rather decent theming it made me want to kill someone. I was fumingggg. in a better world I could have given it 3 stars maybe even 3.5. <- there is no world in which it is anything but mediocre with all of its pointless jumpscares there's like 15 of them, and it didn't stick it's point of bg smiles well enough I think they were almost entirely coincidental. but it's not like. poorly made otherwise, it's incredibly watchable . anyway it's 4am byee

I have been creating a list of Set It Off songs to put in here, and this is on top of the ones ive already added. I am also just now realising that even tho i associate the band in general with Strength the distribution of songs does Not favour Strength much if at all.

Theres a few of the songs where its just the general vibe or just so much of the song works its hard to pick one section, but i went and grabbed some of my fav sections

Who‘s In Control?; it especially makes me think of Anne at her peak blaming herself for Heart and all that, like „living in fear living afraid/hysterical every day“ TELL me that doesnt remind u of Heart and Anne in ibybf

Me W/O You; it feels vaugely manipulative and vaugely genuine in a way i can only compare to Heart. Plus the whole „theres no me without us“ over-reliance and codependence feels very Heart as well

And i didnt add a part of the song because i cant EXPLAIN it but. Dancing With The Devil in my head just makes me think of Streart. imagining it as like the two of them alternating screaming the lines at eachother, they both see eachother as the counterpart in the song. And this song also lead me to for some reason learning how to draw partner dancing Just so i could draw streart partner dancing and then also went a bit insane about who would be lead dw about it

no hold on i still have thoughts about mrs maisel season 5 even though i liked the ending scene in the future thats about the only future scene i liked besides the susie roast in the 90s. the writing quality was just so subpar compared to the earlier seasons and real egregious w creating subplots that never went anywhere

Camp is contextual and highly subjective, and it has slightly differing definitions in different fields. I agree that people often misuse the word, but it’s not like “narcissist” or “OCD” where its misuse contributes in a harmful way to making a vital word meaningless. You can just choose to disagree with whoever said the Mario movie was camp - I’d also disagree with them lol. (Unless they’re talking about a Situation. The Mario movie would probably feel much more camp when played at a funeral.)

But sometimes when people are learning how to use a new word they’ve picked up through cultural osmosis, they use it badly and will continue to do so until someone corrects them. There are ways to do this that feel more like cultural sharing than confiscating the word from them like a pair of scissors they don’t know how to use yet. Just show them how to use the scissors.

ed zitron, a tech beat reporter, wrote an article about a recent paper that came out from goldman-sachs calling AI, in nicer terms, a grift. it is a really interesting article; hearing criticism from people who are not ignorant of the tech and have no reason to mince words is refreshing. it also brings up points and asks the right questions:

if AI is going to be a trillion dollar investment, what trillion dollar problem is it solving?

what does it mean when people say that AI will "get better"? what does that look like and how would it even be achieved? the article makes a point to debunk talking points about how all tech is misunderstood at first by pointing out that the tech it gets compared to the most, the internet and smartphones, were both created over the course of decades with roadmaps and clear goals. AI does not have this.

the american power grid straight up cannot handle the load required to run AI because it has not been meaningfully developed in decades. how are they going to overcome this hurdle (they aren't)?

people who are losing their jobs to this tech aren't being "replaced". they're just getting a taste of how little their managers care about their craft and how little they think of their consumer base. ai is not capable of replacing humans and there's no indication they ever will because...

all of these models use the same training data so now they're all giving the same wrong answers in the same voice. without massive and i mean EXPONENTIALLY MASSIVE troves of data to work with, they are pretty much as a standstill for any innovation they're imagining in their heads
