there was a great interview with sharon gilham (costume designer) where she gave an intriguing tease about a new character in s3! (this bit starts around the 45-minute mark)
they are "something else"
"not like anything from season 2 or anything you've seen before"
they required a major collaboration between the costume & makeup departments
she paraphrased rafe as describing them as "a really really important, really highly complex character who's coming for one scene only in episode 7 or 8" [that was more that she couldn't remember the episode number, not that rafe wasn't sure at the time what episode they would be in; she did specify that it was at the end of the season because she was saying they were almost out of budget and had this dropped on them lmao so the episode in question does definitely seem to be 7 or 8]
i don't know what to think! lots of people are speculating the finn which fits the first few points, but i'm skeptical because i wouldn't qualify them as "really important, highly complex" characters (and it did definitely sound like one specific character, not a group of characters, though we could have mat meet just one finn). same goes for other creature-y characters like shaidar haran - not that important or complex of a character, unless they plan to bulk him up a lot compared to the books, which is possible. it's also possible sharon/rafe meant visually complex rather than complex characterization-wise, but even with that, i personally wouldn't consider the finn or shaidar haran to be as important as she made it sound like this character is. maybe the gholam could fit the parameters of important & (visually) complex?
i'm also skeptical of mordeth because mashadar was just its own thing not tied to a person in s1 and i kinda doubt they'd introduce him now, but maybe some kind of mordeth-inspired padan fain powerup is possible? or a slayer TAR powerup where he becomes freaky-looking? but the phrasing implies to me that this is a new character who isn't in any other scene in s3, rather than an existing character who gets a powerup to look different.
tuon is a possibility, but would her aesthetic really be THAT different from the high blood we saw in s2? i don't know, maybe it would! another seanchan possibility is the empress herself; it would be so sick if tuon was in multiple scenes in the tanchico plotline and we get to know her not realizing who she is, and then at the very end of the season she goes home and we find out she's the daughter of the seanchan empress. the literal empress would be a good candidate for looking like nothing we'd ever seen before because she'd surely have to be the most over-the-top person in the world. and Mama Tuon could maybe fit the bill of a "really important" character if they bring some of tuon's backstory onscreen and give her a storyline within the court of the nine moons in s4 before heading back to the westlands in s5, thus giving her mom a significant role and making a lot more out of the mommy issues that were hinted at in the books, but even in that scenario it feels like a stretch to consider Mama Tuon THAT important (but again, we just can't know how they might decide to bulk up characters; no one would've ever considered liandrin important based on the books!)
the only other possibility i'm thinking of is a new forsaken, with my strongest guesses being sammael or graendal (since they were both namedropped in s3, and there's also an alleged sammael audition script), and a smaller guess of asmodean (i'd assume we would see him in more than one scene in s3). but here we also run into the question of, how different would they be from the forsaken we've already seen? plus, would they require a "major" collaboration with the makeup department? sammael maaaaybe, depending on how they do his scar.
any standard westland character (aes sedai, political leader or noble, aiel, etc) i wouldn't think would have particularly wild aesthetics, so i'm discounting all those (like cadsuane), but you never know.
i'm sure there's about a hundred other possibilities i'm not thinking of right now! what do you guys think?

The One To Blame (Part 2)
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 A followup to my The One To Blame one shot. I took a poll asking if I should keep things lighthearted, but "hurt that plumber harder" won, so....
Content Warning: Blood, torture, vomiting, graphic descriptions of violence.
Needless to say things get a little rough, so I totally get anyone that wants to dip out or hold off until part three (i.e, the comfort part of this hurt/comfort fic.)
____________________
Luigi knew that he had put a fire flower in his pocket some time ago. Chances were it got smashed at some point between then and now, so he was unsure if it would still work. Even if it did, there was little good it could do against a monster who breathed flames that easily outmatched the heat of any powerup. But it was all he had. A useless powerup was better than no powerup at all, if only he could move his arms and reach for it.
Bowser's grip remained firm as he tromped through the halls of his castle, the troops that Luigi had so skillfully evaded just earlier clearing the way. Some who saw the man dangling helplessly in Bowser’s fist took on a look of sadistic smugness. Others didn’t care at all, wanting nothing more than stay out of the way of their king as he rushed past them, up a flight of steps, and into uppermost room of a fortified tower, where he shut the door behind him.
The dark cell was empty save for some old broken chains attached to the wall, suggesting that the cramped quarters had once served as a prison of sorts before being abandoned altogether. Bowser lit overhanging lamps with a puff of flames, filling the claustrophobic space with a dull orange light. “Beg.” The demand was spoken between clenched teeth uncomfortably close to Luigi’s face, acrid breath burning against his cheek like hot steam. “Come on, I know you can do it. I’ve heard it before.” Bowser shifted Luigi in his fist, curling the tips of his claws into his chest, stomach, and thigh. “Beg.” The sensation of talons slowly digging caused Luigi’s breath to hitch. “Don’t! don’t– it hurts! Stop! Please!!”
The mounting pressure didn’t cease. He felt his clothing tear and skin gave way soon after. He screamed, straining to remember the conversation he had overheard earlier, sputtering to find something that would soothe Bowser’s wounded ego. “You’re right! You’re right! You’re right! I should've never touched that warp pipe! I shouldn’t have come to this world! It was a mistake!” The claws stopped digging. The hold loosened slightly, his claws freeing themselves from the shallow puncture wounds they had created. Luigi felt what he knew to be blood soaking into his torn clothes, splotches of red spreading across his collared shirt and denim overalls. “I shouldn’t have talked to you like that when we first met.” He added with a sob, “I-... I’m sorry… your… majesty?” The respectful title felt sour on his tongue, his stomach twisting with shame even as the suffocating grip continued to soften, and Bowser’s look of rage became a self-satisfied smile. “That’s better.” Luigi took the opportunity to once again try to reach for the fire flower in his pocket, but Bowser– feeling him struggling– once more tightened his grip while his free hand reached over to squish the man’s face between his thumb and forefinger.
“You know… Princess Peach was so eager to ruin our wedding trying to save you…”
“Not just me! She was trying to save the Kongs too!” Luigi tried to argue, though with his cheeks painfully pressed in the koopa’s grip it came out as “Nuff jush meh! shewesh tine ta sefta konds tuh!” Bowser paid little attention, and continued… “... I wonder if that would be the proper wedding gift? I’ll let her keep you, just so long as she follows through with her marriage vows.”
When Luigi’s face was finally released he racked his mind for the next thing to say. The right thing to say. Suddenly, his mouth moved before his brain could form a plan, and all at once he found himself speaking from the heart. “Why can’t you just leave her alone?!”
The volume was soft, but the tone was sharp. Bowser responded with equal impulsivity, rearing back and flinging his captive into the wall. “Why!? I’m King of The Koopas! And what are you!?” Luigi had just enough time to adjust his body so that his back took the brunt of the impact instead of his skull, saving him from being immediately knocked out. Rolling to the ground, he heard the tyrant continue...
“You… the stupid underling of an undersized nobody! You’re going to wish I never stooped so low as to ask for your name!” Luigi braced his body up on an arm and dug his hand into his pocket. The fire flower was still there, slightly smashed but radiating warmth. As soon as he grabbed it he felt its energy coursing through him, offsetting the pain of his injuries enough to let him climb to his feet.
Bowser, seeing the powerup activate, charged his captive like a bull, horns positioned to run him through. Luigi met the attack with a flash of bright green flame intended to do nothing more than disorient, and in that he was successful. Bowser was lost for a second of blindness, barreling into the wall as Luigi dove out of the way. Evading the flying debris he scampered toward the door they’d come through. It was heavy, but it had been blessedly left unlocked, and as soon as he wrenched it open he slipped through and ran as fast as his legs could carry him. _____
The sound of stone shattering reverberated through the castle. Peach heard the rumble. Her heart stilled, and her grip on the bars of her cage tightened. “Kamek!” she called, turning her desperation toward the magikoopa guarding her. “Please, you have to stop him!” “With all due respect Princess, until you become the queen of The Dark Lands I don’t take orders from anyone except His Highness.” “I just want Luigi safe! I’ll agree to anything if you’ll only–!” “Even if I believed you… which I don’t…” Kamek interrupted, placing hand on his cheek, recalling the punch that knocked him unconscious the last time Peach agreed to wed, “... once he gets this angry, there is nothing even I can do to stop him.”
Peach opened her mouth to respond, when a flash of red appeared in the corner of her eye. She and Kamek turned in unison to see Mario appear in the entrance of the throneroom, charging toward them at top speed with a look of unshakable determination on his face. He was not nearly quick enough. Kamek, with ample time to draw his wand, cast his spell, and before his would-be attacker was even halfway across the room he was encased in a field of blue magic. “Hee hee hee! Cocky, aren’t we?” Kamek cackled. The captured plumber replied with nothing but a frustrated grunt, gritting his teeth as he was lifted in the air. “No!” Peach shouted. She threw herself against the bars in frantic desperation, but they did nothing but clang noisily under her efforts. Kamek barely even spared her a glance, his attention fixed firmly on his prize. “That’s two plumbers I’ve caught in one night! Although… I believe Lord Bowser’s orders regarding you were to ‘kill on sight.’” With that, he intensified the spell with a twirl of his wand, certain that the sordid affair would be over in seconds. But then, Mario’s body– or what he thought to be Mario’s body– crumbled in a very unusual way. There was no blood or breakage, but instead the little man fell apart like a dry sand castle, disappearing into the air as a fine powder. Kamek stood for a moment in stunned silence. Wand still outstretched he stared at the empty air in utter befuddlement, noticing all too late when Mario appeared once more, emerging from his hiding place behind Bowser’s throne. Armed with a hammer, he leapt down the steps leading up to the throne with a single bound, and swung. The magikoopa was downed with a single blow that sent him flying across the room, slamming into the base of one of his king's many statues. There he lay slumped and still, his cracked glasses sitting crooked on his face.
Princess Peach beamed with joy and relief. “Mario!” "Princess!" Mario rushed to her side. Before she could ask anything else he hurriedly confirmed her suspicions as he pulled a ring of keys from his back pocket. “I had a spare double cherry. Toad is busy getting us an escape vehicle, so I provided my own backup. Now hold on, I’ll get you out of here...” “No! Mario, wait!” She reached through the bars, took the plumber by the wrist and slipped the key ring out of his hand. “It’s Luigi! Bowser, he- it’s all my fault! I–” She bit down on her lower lip, cutting herself off. No. Now was not the time for panicked confessions. Not a second could be wasted wallowing in guilt. In an instant she collected herself and tried again. “Bowser took your brother! I heard a crash coming from the westmost tower. I think that’s where they went. You have to go. Now.” "Luigi?" A troubled look flashed across Mario's face. He nodded, but conflict shone bright in his blue eyes as he slowly backed away. Worry for his brother demanded he hurry, but concern for Peach stilled him. What if the key she needed wasn’t on the ring? What if Kamek regained consciousness? What if someone else caught her trying to escape? Perhaps he should try hitting the door to her cage with the hammer... would that be faster? Would that draw too much attention? “Go on,” Peach urged, jangling the keys in her hands, “I won’t be too far behind, I promise!”
Again, Mario nodded, this time with greater determination. "Please, be careful!" With that, he turned and sped out of the throne room, leaving the princess to sort through the dozens of keys in search of one that could unlock her cell.
_____ Bowser pulled his head from the wall and shook the rubble from his horns as his fiery red eyes glanced about the room, quickly finding the ajar door and the speckled trail of blood leading out of it.
He let out a grunt of annoyance, but he felt little more than that. Luigi hadn’t gotten far, he could still smell the man’s open wounds. Even before Bowser exited the cell he could already sense that Luigi had gone up the stairs to the battlements rather than down them toward the main corridors, probably preferring to try and find an escape route along the castle rooftops rather than risk the crowded halls down below in his injured state.
A risky choice. A stupid choice. There was nowhere to hide up there. Outside, thundering clouds of ash blacked out the sky, robbing the land of any semblance of sunlight. The world was lit solely by the molten rock that flowed about the castle’s base and the golden embers that floated about the air– burnt remnants of what little managed to grow in this accursed land.
Luigi, trying to ignore the oppressive heat, ran along the tops of the castle wall, one hand over his wounded stomach, the other putting pressure on his injured thigh. Thankfully no organ or artery had been punctured as far as he could tell, but at this rate moving too recklessly would sap him of strength before he found a place to hunker down and rest– some secluded archway or tucked away window sill, where he could settle his heartbeat, and tend his wounds. He didn't make it far before heard Bowser’s thundering footsteps fast approaching, his predatory silence far more frightening than any taunt or threat. But while the koopa was fast– far faster than any human– what he had in speed Luigi matched in agility, even in his injured state. Turning toward his pursuer, Luigi shielded himself behind another burst of green flame. He dove beneath Bowser’s legs and weaved about his flicking tail, taking advantage of every tiny gap and blindspot like a skittering insect, aiming flashes of fire at the koopa's eyes until finally Bowser– at the end of his already limited patience– tucked himself completely into his shell, and spun. “Whirling Fortress” was the name of the maneuver. He rarely ever used it, in most cases it was overkill, and if Luigi hadn’t had a powerup to absorb the blow no doubt the spikes would’ve done far more harm than sending him flying into the parapet. But it did the trick, disempowering and disorienting the green plumber enough for Bowser to once more take hold of him, and this time he intended to take full advantage of his position.
After pinning Luigi to the ground with one hand, Bowser grabbed the calf of his uninjured leg with the other, and twisted it all the way around like a ragdoll. A pained screech filled the scorching air as the joints of Luigi's knee, hip, and ankle snapped. The scream rose in volume and pitch as bone shattered soon after, until at last his leg was left twisted in a ghoulish, unnatural position. Bowser, satisfied, released his hold to let the mangled limb fall limp to the stone floor. “There. No more running away. No more hiding.” Luigi quivered from the shock, wide eyed and whimpering incoherently, but as pathetic as he looked, Bowser was surprised he had maintained consciousness. His vague sense of being impressed quickly turned into disgust, however, when then whimpering became retching, and Luigi poured the contents of his stomach onto the ground. “Look at you…” Bowser grumbled. He took hold of the back of Luigi’s head and smeared it against the mess he had made like he was disciplining an animal. “You can’t even take a little pain without losing all of your dignity.” “P-please.” Luigi sputtered, unaware that this time begging would merely trigger a fresh flash of rage. The grip on the back of his skull tightened, claws digging into his scalp as his face was brought back down against the bile-smeared stone with staggering force.
His nose was first to give way, his breathing immediately clogged with blood and a new, searing pain that reached behind his eyes. When he felt his head yanked back for a second blow he struggled to turn his face to save the nose from further damage. This resulted in his jaw and cheek taking the brunt of the impact. He barely succeeded in spitting out broken teeth before the third impact stole his will to struggle, and the fourth plunged him into darkness. The pain continued in unconsciousness, shockwaves of agony rippling out into every part of his body. Seconds felt like hours of drowning in the taste of rust and vomit before he at length awoke, dangling in the air by his wrist, held tight in that familiar, scaly grip. Bowser was talking to him… saying something… Luigi tried to open his eyes. Only one would open halfway, giving him a blurred glimpse of a scowling, draconic face. “Did you hear me? I asked you what exactly your plan was,” Bowser huffed, impatiently repeating his question. “Did you think you could jump out at the last moment and save Peaches the way you saved your brother? That you could bide your time until you found the right opportunity to make a fool out of me again?” The violent grip on Luigi’s wrist made it clear that he wanted an answer. After a few gurgling breaths, Luigi managed to speak with an agonizing slowness, feeling like he was chewing sewing needles with every movement of his jaw. “I just… don’t wa..nt… you to… hurt… anyone,” he stuttered, barely audible. Bowser rolled his eyes. “Adorable. Unfortunately…” Luigi felt his wrist break. He let out a meek cry, immediately strangled by the pain of his shattered mouth. “...You are going to pay me back for everything you’ve done.” Bowser leaned in closer to ensure he was heard, even as his prisoner teetered on the very edge of consciousness. “Once your brother is dead, once Peaches is finally mine, only then will I end your life the way it should’ve ended when we first met!” Luigi was too lost in the fog of agony and bloodloss to properly comprehend what was being said, nor did he notice the distant thud of wooden doors being kicked open, but Bowser's attention was immediately drawn to the new arrival on the rooftops. He half-expected to see a troop of palace guards, rushing to assist in a pointless, but noble effort. To his pleasant surprise, Mario alone emerged from the doorway to the battlements, as if summoned by the whispered threat. He rushed toward them, hammer upraised. When he was close enough to get a good look at his brother, that confidence immediately evaporated and he froze, a look of utter horror and disbelief etched into every detail of his face. Bowser wished he had a camera, but he knew it would only be a second before the plumber’s horror turned to rage. To prevent any further resistance, he gripped Luigi by the skull and made his position clear: “One more step and I’ll tear his head off!”
This successfully kept Mario paralyzed. His feet remained fixed to the floor, chest heaving, teeth clenched, white-knuckle grip tightening around the handle of his hammer.
_____
Peach eventually found the key to her cage. It was bright silver and etched with the words “the key to my heart” in cursive letters, small enough to miss the first time she searched. Nauseated by the adornment, she hurriedly unlocked the door to her prison. Just as she emerged into freedom, the princess was startled by a cannonball crashing through the wall nearby. It wasn’t close enough to hurt her or the unconscious magikoopa, but it rattled her senses, and with her hands balled into fists she rushed to see who or what had created the sizable hole in the side of Bowser’s throne room.
She– to her utter delight– was greeted by Toad, calling to her from the deck of a stolen airship. It wasn’t one of those dinky clown cars or a Shy Guy balloon, but a true airship– built like a miniature galleon and equipped with loaded cannons.
Toad alone was at the helm, struggling to comprehend the controls, but learning quickly as he kept the ship steady.
Princess Peach immediately boarded the vessel on his invitation. She took a place in the crow's nest, and as they stuttered off toward the western tower she gave direction and kept lookout. They dipped low, flying close to the base of the castle to avoid as much attention as possible. Whenever a few unfortunate guards noticed the stolen ship and took aim to take them down, Peach called out their location, and Toad returned fire to great effect. These defensive measures, plus the earlier damage to the throne room, caused a small crowd of guards in clown cars to gather at their tail, but their galleon proved swift and sturdy, easily outpacing their pursuers.
_____
Mario tried to think of a plan, but he was utterly transfixed by his brother’s body. It didn’t look real, smeared and crushed and bent all wrong. He could hear and see shallow, labored breath, joined by a groan of agony when Bowser began walking forward while dragging his broken victim behind him. Mario didn't know what to do. "Save him!" his mind screamed, barking substanceless commands in a flood of terror, "Get him out! Do something! Fight back!"
“The hammer.” Bowser growled, “drop it.” Mario obeyed. No sooner had the weapon left his grip he was plucked up in Bowser's free hand, arms pinned to his sides in a vice-like grip. Bowser, now with a plumber in each hand, slammed Mario into the parapet to ensure there was no powerup at play. Mario instinctively responded with a pained grunt, but otherwise seemed to pay no notice of his own position, keeping his attention fully on his brother. “Luigi!” He yelled, tears cracking his voice and blurring his vision. Luigi didn’t respond, but laid slack with his head still wrapped in Bowser's hand, the slow rise and fall of his chest the only indication that he was still alive. “You know, I originally planned for you to watch him die,” Bowser admitted with a tired sigh. “But I changed my mind. I think I’m done with you.”
No sooner had he said this, he reared back and threw Mario over the wall. A steep vertical drop awaited him, nine hundred feet down toward a wide river of molten rock.
______ Shading her eyes with her hand, Princess Peach caught a glimpse of Bowser atop the western side of the castle. She saw signs of a brief scuffle, then… a familiar red shape plunging over the side. Her heart stopped for a moment when she realized what she was seeing, and she urged Toad to increase the ship's speed despite the fact that they were already pushing the vehicle well beyond its limits. Toad, noting the panic in the royal's voice, did as he was told, and as the ship came into position with the stuttering groan of the overworked engine Peach leapt from the crow’s nest to catch her falling friend. Mario was snatched from the air with perfect precision. The floating properties of Peach’s dress cushioned the free fall just enough that when the two hit the deck of the ship, they were unharmed.
When Mario realized he was alive– saw that he was in good company– he reacted at first with a relieved sigh. The moment of joy was short lived, and his eyes were drawn back to the battlements overhead. “He-… he’s hurt!” The tone of his voice made Peach nauseous. Her fears all but confirmed, she held Mario a little tighter and turned to Toad. “Raise the ship’s altitude! Hone in on Bowser’s position! Hurry!”
“Yes, Captain Princess!” was the cheerful reply, Toad clearly not yet aware of the severity of the situation. With a salute he tugged on levers and twisted the great wooden wheel, drawing the bow of the ship upward at a sharp angle, sending them veering toward the rooftops where the shadow of Bowser loomed against the thundering black sky.

ok i have felt a need to yap about this for years and years so imma do it here. listen hey guys you know that game you play in your head when youre looking out the car window??? where u imagine a dude doing epic parkour running and flipping tricks on the sidewalk to keep up with your car?? apparently lots of people do it and sometimes it's referred to as invisible person/car parkour??? ok so me and my sister both did this when we were wee children but we took it further (we thought we were geniuses and that we invented this whole thing) by adding whole entire different avatars and stuff like that. each avatar had its own special quirk (the paper airplane could turn sideways in order to travel along walls, the monkey could lasso his tail around streetlights, etc.). and ALSO if your avatar touched certain signs they would get EPIC POWERUPS (for example green might've been high jumps for 10 seconds like in subway surfers, yellow was +10 coins or whatever even though neither of us had a good enough memory to keep track of coins, blue was special powerup). also you weren't allowed to touch the plants growing on the highway walls. and there were all sorts of rules regarding what you had and didn't have to jump (always jump driveways and wall columns and fire hydrants). literally why was this the most fun stuff ever anyway if anyone wants to hear the full details of this awesome game that we made up i will try to find the very old paper that i wrote everything down on (i attached it to this crusty ahh aquamarine clipboard so hopefully it won't be too hard to locate)
#subway surfers#invisible man parkour#car parkour#i mean we all know the imagination of children is bonkers#but how is this such a#shared experience#anyway#is this just me#or should i say#was that just us#idk#noooot exactly a shitpost

I has 30 asks! :0
(Ask in question)
I’m gonna be honest, I took it that way. I thought it was a rude ask that was criticizing my versions of the Wario bros for no reason. Even though they’re still gonna be the flamboyant and comedic gremlins that we all know and love. And even if they weren’t, and they were gonna be completely new and gentle characters, so what? Its just an AU version of them.
But even so, I’m glad I responded to that ask. So that you had the chance to clear this up with me and so I didn’t have to block someone over a misunderstanding-
@crunchypotatochips-18
I imagine he likes some friendly company. But not to worry! He’s not lonely down there or anything, he’s got Gregory and Foxy to keep him company!
Also thank you! :DDD
It doesn’t fit at all actually- 😅
I have no plans for E.Gadd. And when the bros found King Boos mansion they were in, out and over with it in under a day :0
@pixelinrgb-rebirth (Post in question)
:D Yes! It is! And I’ve actually thought of some ideas already. Making my own ways for how the Iron Golems work, how the villagers work, why this mob does this, etc. But its mostly just been worlds with my OCs in them. Nothing about Steve yet. :/
As for the Power-Up/downs. There are no “power-downs”. Power-ups are supposed to be these items of pure energy, and although they can be dangerous, none of them explicitly exist just to cause harm. Like the poison shroom for example. That one exits but its not a Power-up. Its just a blatantly poison mushroom without any special powers behind it.
And when it comes to what powerups are in the AU, I only really add the ones from games that I’ve played. Soooo Mario kart Wii, New super Mario bro Wii, Mario 64 on the ds, super Mario 3D world.. plus a few others I bet I’m missing. Mostly mainstream games basically. No Paper Mario or partners in time or anything-
As for my AU’s name.. I haven’t thought of one yet ;-; ...
@scarftale-bryan
Me about to post Kirby OCs that was partially motivated by an ask/request-
@mister-jedblack (post in ask)
Happy Valentines day! And I hope to get back to the AU soon. I’ve been thinking about it everyday and am trying to really iron out Vanessa's storyline atm. Hopefully soon I can finally stitch this this thing back together and continue sharing it!
I haven’t played those games.. :(
But I wanted to add the wing cap from super Mario 64 on the DS. And I tried to think of ways to add the yellow super cape from the old games too :0
I’ve seen some screen shots of it but never looked into it, looks spooky! :0
I’m assuming you meant this post? If that’s the case I think I went off the idea that Sword was infected with a monster that was intended for Kirby.
A monster that caused crazy hallucinations mostly, and great pain in the eyes and head. I had a mini comic where Blade was trying to talk to him and he saw Blades face as distorted and grotesque. Scaring the crap out of Sword and making him either run or just cover his eyes in panic. Fun stuff! :D
@neeydrawls
AAA THANK YOU SO MUCH!! :DDD I’m so glad to hear that you like my content!!
As for your questions, Monty is innocent. But he blames himself for Bonnie’s decommission. Something in Monty golf destroyed Bonnie. And because of Monty, they didn't have enough money to repair Bonnie. And because of Monty, the Glamrock era began. In which Bonnie was left behind.
Monty was never jealous of Freddy or Bonnie, and he still isn’t. He’s was happy with the way things were.. he wasn’t the one who hurt Bonnie. As for who or what did? That’s a mystery to be revealed later :0
Also. Bonnie and Foxy are supposed to be shut down. If workers saw them, they would be shut down again and put back in the basement. Or maybe even scrapped! :0 Also the workers could possibly find Gregory, which would not be good- Its also not up to the workers on whether or not they get fixed. That’s all up to the higher ups..
And the reason why Freddy is keeping Gregory a secret.. is because he thinks if Chica, Roxanne, Monty or the others saw him, they would call security. Which means Gregory would be caught by Vanessa and/or taken away by authorities. Freddy doesn't’ understand it yet, but he loves Gregory. And he wants to keep him safe, and with him. So he hides him from his friends in fear that he will be taken away. :( Also Gregory is terrified of the others so there’s that--
I haven’t planned out a scenario where Luigi dies and is revived. But if that ever happens? Mario would be devastated. It would just.. it would destroy him. Especially if he witnessed his baby brother being killed or wounded.. it.. it would just be awful.
I would like for Luigi to find a 1-UP, and then die in some horrible way- but I haven’t thought of anything super interesting yet. :/
AAA THANK YOU SO MUCH!! THIS IS SO SWEET!! :DDD
@sneakysidekick
ASUIAUSDNVO THANK YOUUU IM WORKING MY VERY BESTEST JUST FOR U
I haven’t actually played those games before.. so I have zero knowledge on them :( But they look really cool! And I bet they’re really fun games :}
(Also thank you!! :DD)
AAA THANK YOU!!! Also I’ve been drawing for... basically my entire life XD some of my earliest memories are drawing tails the fox on sticky notes and in old school note books. Ahh those were the days.. where the only thing that existed to me was tails miles prower..
@bloonmonnie (post in question)
Yeah, I kind’a pictured domesticated/home grown Piranha plants (which is what Piñata is-) to have more of an animal level of intelligence. Like maybe that of a dog? She also kind’a just tends to mimic what Waluigi is doing. If Waluigi is angry and defensive Piñata is smart enough to know that she should act angry and defensive right alongside him.
If Waluigi is soaked in blood and is moving oddly slow.. well, she’ll get quiet and move slow too..
My favorite character from the Anime AND the games is Metaknight! :DD In the Anime he has a deep lore that explains why he’s edgy and it explains motives for his actions and its really cool- also in Super Star Ultra Metaknight was really fun to play as-
As for Kirby? I don’t really have anything outstanding to say about the lil guy. I like him as much as anybody else. He’s just a lil gumball, not my favorite character, but I don’t have any hate for him. :0
@noelianoe1
My last submas post was made in July 2022 :x So not recent..
I haven’t given them much thought actually.. I should look into that more :0
(post in question)
XD He’s to dumbfounded to speak at this point
I think they’ll mostly just be doing stuff in the background :0
@orchid-harmony
I have not actually! :0 Although I’ve heard a lot about that game, it sounds fun!
Ooooo adding Ashley is a fun idea! :D
@itschrisboys
There’s a lot of pain and fear on both sides really.
Bowsers entire world and view of himself was flipped on its head. He was defeated. By this.. person.. no, this thing. He now no longer feels safe in his own kingdom. He no longer feels strong enough to protect his kids..
And for the bros and princess, a lot of anxiety and sleepless nights are had. Mario and Luigi have to sleep in the same room lest they both suffer anxiety attacks. Even Peach, who is royal and posh, and has an image of strength and stability to uphold.. even she was tormented with anxiety. And could not sleep without her advisor Toadsworth nearby..
I don’t remember much of Villainous, but I remember liking Dr.Flug! 10/10 would recommend the wacky scientist man XD
(Video in ask)
I have not actually :0 but I’ve heard good things about the game! Maybe I should watch a play through sometime.. 🤔
XD Oh yeah, it was all fun and games being tall and strong.. until it wore off. And the muscle soreness set in :(
The only star powerups I have considered is the basic super stars that make the bros invincible. I'm not familiar with those other games and sorta forgot about the big stars from 64--
Basically. Its just the default star power-ups. Mostly because I’m not familiar with the games the other ones are from..

If you insist…
Why is nart so shitty with it's female characters?
Because 9/10 they don't do anything.
Not only do we have such a weird gap between the female characters and the male ones, were even the teams have two - three and the girls are nearly always stuck at one, to the point that the senseis have literally one woman who got benched before actually doing anything, but those female characters don't get nearly the amount of time or energy to their stories.
Sakura has the best given that she's on the main team, but compared to Naruto, Sasuke and Kakashi? Even Yamato? She is given the brunt end of the stick constantly, with her achievements either ignored overshadowed, her story so often revolving around loving Sasuke or pushing up Naruto, and the ending completely omitting her from recieving any reincanation powerup or even the final fucking fight.
Hinata is the same as Sakura, where most of her character and her story is revolving around how much she loves Naruto, whereas the more interesting parts like her inheritence being passed over to Hinabi, or her being the target of Neji's trauma and anger towards how their clan runs and what her father did. All of that is barely given anything in Part 1, and practically nothing in Shippuden.
Ino and Tenten are the worst in the Konoha 11, but poor Tenten doesn't even have a last name. She had a chance to actually get something during the War arc with the powerful weapons being something she is literally a master in, but then nothing happens of it.
Outside of that, we had Temari, who at least got the screentime and one of the better written romances with Shikamaru, but again it's devolving another female character's whole thing to romance. We don't even get her and Kankuro dealing with their abusive dad in the War arc.
She had some good moments, don't get me wrong, but that's not enough to what others get.
And Ino's just there. Really the Hidan and Kakuzu arc was mainly centred around Shikamaru, as both Choji and Ino got pushed into the background for it, but Ino didn't even do anything in the final fight. At least Choji and Kakashi got more, she just fucking stood around.
There's others but I also wanna mention that the only female Hokage we got was Tsunade, who's main jokes are how big her boobs are, her skill as a medic, and that she makes herself younger when most of the women in Naruto aren't allowed to actually look their age or even have less "pretty" features like the guys do.
TLDR: The girls are reduced down to love interests, mothers, who just are in the background with very little to do compared to their male counterparts.

Once again it is time for
This year's event will be hosted by mahou Zeldas, because I've been spending a lot of time in Hyrule this year.
Mahou anime of the year:
(Futari Wa Precure Splash Star, Yes! Precure 5, Yes! Precure 5 GoGo, Smile Precure!, Mahou Tsukai Precure!, Hirogaru Sky Precure!, Otona Precure, Tokyo Mew Mew New s2, Magical Destroyers, Zettai Bouei Leviathan, Petite Princess Yucie, season movies for Splash Star, Yes5, Yes5 GoGo, Smile & Delicious Party, Crossover movie for Fresh Precure!)
Then the stuff I read:
(Saint Tail, Stellar Witch Lips, Magical Girl Tsubame, W.i.t.c.h. reboot, Smile Precure novel, Null Magical Girl, Magia Record Scene Zero)
I also keep up with what kind of designs Magia Record releases though I don't play it or otherwise follow the story.
Extremely Precure year this time around though that was not intentional, usually I only manage one backlog season per year. But I started with Smile, and then we were hit with the news that we'd have a Yes5/Splash Star sequel in autumn, and in preparation for that I had to power through some 150 episodes for the original series. And then I somehow ended up watching all of Mahou Tsukai in less than 2 weeks. And then there was Otona as well of course.
Now there's only three backlog seasons left, and they should be doable in a year if the Mahou Tsukai sprint is of any indication, though we'll see how that goes. I'd like to take a look at other similar shows too (like Doremi and Sailor Moon) but I want to clear Precure first before moving to the next thing.
The W.i.t.c.h. reboot was also a thing this year, which seems to have come and went with a thud. Which is a shame because I was looking forward to it, but... well it wasn't particularly good. I guess it can pick up of there's more to the story.
For the first time I've followed a Magia Record (game) story, with Scene Zero. The format is difficult but I am interested, so it's possible I'll look into more MagiReco stories once Scene Zero is over. The game has so many cute characters so I'd certainly like to know more about them.
This year I also took part in ArtFight and did some mostly mahou themed OC art, which was a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to doing the same next year as well if they host the event again.
Now onto the awards!
Best henshin design goes to Cure Sky! Blue lead Cure aside this is a top tier magical girl design, and that is mostly thanks to the cape, especially the red inside and yellow fringe. It looks so majestic! But being a half-cape prevents her from looking too stuffy. The thin twintails also look great with the cape in action shots. And of course she is also stupidly cute.
Also a shoutout to Saint Tail's simple but very effective look with a rarely seen colour scheme.
Best team design goes to Stellar Witch Lips! Similar enough to be a team but everyone has their own take on the theme, black makes for a good base colour and the sparkly tops look amazing.
Best powerup design goes to Cure Felice's Alexandrite form! She looks so regal and powerful, truly a nature goddess!
Best civilian design goes to Cure Sky in general! I just like her practical style and the clothes look all comfy.
Best hair goes to Junia! It looks so soft and poofy and her pastel colour palette makes everything even cuter.
Best magical item goes to the tiara and amulets in Petite Princess Yucie! They aren't that special to be honest but I'm always ready for magical items that don't look like cheap plastic toys.
Best henshin scene goes to Cure Sky! A lot of dynamic animation, the tinted split screen at the end is fresh for Precure, the modulation in the middle amps up the power, the dark background makes everything a little bit cooler, and the cape flip and wings at the end just look amazing.
youtube
Best fan creation goes to ArtFight in general! It was my first time participating, and getting to draw other people's ocs on a low threshold was great, and obviously receiving a ton of art of my own ocs felt amazing.
Best relationship goes to the group in Petite Princess Yucie! I really like how the side characters have distinct relationships with each other and not just the main character, and how not everyone gets along all the time (or most of the time with Glenda and Elmina). The fact that they're also rivals makes things more interesting and everything culminates successfully in the power of friendship in the end.
Best mascot goes to Saki's cat Korone! Not exactly a traditional Precure mascot but he does become more mascot-like towards the end. Absolute unit of a cat, gets a funny deep voice and even lands a hit on the final boss, and most importantly isn't annoying.
Best supporting character goes to Kintoleski from Splash Star! He's a pretty simple character but I like villains who are honourable and polite, and he managed to be consistently funny as well.
Best visual goes to Stellar Witch Lips! The story wasn't really anything to write home about but the ultra cute and sparkly art is just magical.
Best audio goes to Updradft Shining bgm! It's surprisingly epic for such an early series attack and it'd be cool if the franchise used music like this more.
youtube
A honourable mention to Tsubasa's eagle sound effect in the Majestic Halation attack, Mabayu's (MagiReco) silly "nuwawawa" scream of pain in a decidedly serious scene, and every "Haa!" from Ha-chan.
Best scene goes to the separation and reunion scene from Mahou Tsukai Precure! Or I guess that's more like half of an episode. Really impressive how they spent so much time on pretty low-key character stuff like this.
Honourable mention to the big battle towards the end of Petite Princess Yucie.
The Innovation award is given to a magical girl work that I think does something fresh for the genre. This year it goes to Hirogaru Sky! Precure for having a boy Cure, an adult Cure and most importantly a non-pink lead Cure! Which isn't particularly notable for the genre as a whole but a gigantic achievement for this franchise. Hopefully it wasn't just a 20 year celebratory fluke and we'll see more variety in the future too.
The Golden Mana award is the prize given to one thing I didn't like.
This year it goes to the henshin forms in Otona Precure, or more specifically the way it did absolutely nothing about them. No adults-as-magical girls, no new looks as 14-year-olds, and not even a new powerup form for the final finisher. Boo! I'm not really saying that the show is required to include new forms just because I wanted it or because it's common in the genre, but that would definitely have made me a lot more forgiving of its many other flaws. And this is my list so I get to complain about my preferences.
Dishonourable mention to Nozomi's catchphrase in Yes5 and GoGo for exemplifying the selfish and pushy aspect of pink heroines like this that often goes uncriticised.
Best character goes to Cure Sky! In addition to the excellent character design she also has a fun personality, "earnest dumbass" is a great combo, and her determination is just great. I also like that she isn't super girly for once. The story of Hirogaru isn't that good so Sora too is held back from having a truly awesome story, but as a character she is still enjoyable enough.
Best work goes to Petite Princess Yucie! It has fun characters, great designs, good group dynamics, interesting world and a really strong ending. It's a shame they don't seem to do kids' anime like this nowadays?
Plans for 2024
Onwards to 2024! I swear this year I'm going to continue with MagiPro, I've been stuck at volume 7 for several years.

Shido did mention that Akechi only learned to use his powers properly because of him, so imo what probably happened was that Akechi was in over his head on the revenge quest, as with everything, and hit the point of no return the moment he contacted Shido. By that time, whatever regrets he might feel were too little too late, since backing away would just get him killed. He had the genius plan of "bury every emotion ever and then die"
I tend to think that, if Akechi wanted to get out, he could find a way. He's clever and resourceful, but he believes he's in control of Shido and of his situation. Don't make the mistake of thinking he's a passive victim—Akechi finds many things about his situation rewarding, IMO, and a lot of things about his role satisfying, and of course those rewards are part of how he buries all those emotions.
The reason he doesn't leave is IMO that it never suits him to do so. If you're an Akechi-survives-the-engine-room truther like all right-thinking people, he clearly does exactly this at that point—he gets out, and stays out.
I think we need to be a little careful of Shadow Shido's assertion that Akechi couldn't use his powers without him. Shido tells us what he considers proper use of the Metaverse to be, back in the little explainer with Akechi:
Shido 理想の達成には、時に邪魔者の排除もやむなし⋯それが『異世界』の正しい使い方というものだ。 risou no tassei ni wa, toki ni jamamono no haijo mo yamu nashi... sore ga "isekai" no tadashii tsukaikata to iu mono da. Those who get in the way must be eliminated at times—that's the correct way to use the Metaverse. If I'm to achieve my ideals, there will be times those in my way must inevitably be eliminated. That's the correct way to use the Metaverse.
Shido considers the proper use of the Metaverse to be bumping off his enemies. He's chosen by God, after all—Akechi falling into his hands was all part of the plan. The Metaverse is there for him, to advance his plans and his ideals. This, IMO, is what Akechi is not doing with his powers, that Shido boasts about enabling: he is not using them to eliminate Shido's enemies.
So when Shadow Shido tells us this:
Shadow Shido 私だから、明智のあの力も、有用に使えたんだ。 watashi dakara, akechi no ano chikara mo, yuuyou ni tsukaeta n da. Moreover, it was thanks to me that Akechi was able to properly use his power to begin with. Without me, Akechi would never have put that power to any proper use.
... we need to bear in mind what Shido considers "proper use" to be.
yuuyou ni tsukaeta—"to be able to be utilised in a useful way; to be put to proper use". This is not IMO about whether Akechi could use his persona, or what his powers were, or developing them further in a lab or anything like that. It means he wasn't using the powers he already had in a way that was useful to Shido. Whatever Akechi was or wasn't doing at fifteen, it wasn't enough for Shido's liking.
It does seem to be adding up to a picture of Akechi heedlessly offering his powers to Shido, committing to get revenge whatever it takes, only to later find out what it will take. But don't ever forget that he walks in with a cruel, spiteful power that emerges from his heart—one he can use to hurt the world and the people around him.
And yeah, Akechi is the poster child for repression, and he seems to do such a good job of it. He seems so often like he's so pleased with what he does and what he is, so satisfied with his empty, lonely, smug existence where everyone else is forever inferior to him. And yet there are those little glimmers of doubt, like the repeated mentions of Wakaba, like the point in Sae's palace when he learns about changes of heart, like that whole inner monologue in the TV studio, when it seems like there's more going on than he wants to think.
*Avril Lavigne plays in the background*
quick followup—of course, Akechi ultimately uses Call of Chaos as a powerup—to make himself stronger and cut his restraints. And as a skill, despite its devastating effects, it seems to be all about reuniting people with their shadows. I wonder if that's its true purpose—to bring those two very disparate halves of himself together. It's not pretty, but then Akechi is not pretty.

Luigi beats Bowser's Ass
So I came up with this scenario in my head while daydreaming, @skulls-soul told me it would be a good idea to share it. Do forgive me for any poor writing I'm not used to describing/ writing fight scenes
TW // violence, Minor descriptions of blood, mention of swords
Bowser is fighting Mario and all out and Bowser is determined not to loose this time. Mario mostly has the fight under control when out of no where He gets hit by Bowser's tail and Smacked into a wall, this knocks him out and causes his head and nose to bleed which sends Luigi into panic mode.
Luigi was getting Peach free from her cage while Mario was battling Bowser. Luigi sent her to go check on Mario so he could go over and fend Bowser off. Bowser ends up knocking a pillar over to try and crush the defensless Mario, unaware Peach had rushed over there to help him out. Thankfully Luigi was quick on his feet and used his powerup to make himself bigger, he then drop kicks the pillar so It would fall a little ways away from them with a thunderous crash, cracking the stone floor Beneath them.
Now Luigi was Pissed. Bowser tried to crush not only Mario but Peach as well, he didn't care he didn't mean to harm Peach, but he still wanted to kill Mario and it would have ended up crushing both of them if he didn't act fast enough.
Luigi turns to Bowser fury in his eyes, the true definition of death stare. Bowser was distracted, still a little taken aback by the fact he almost actually hurt Peach, so he was late to process that the green plumber had just boosted himself towards his head, he had jumped from wall to pillar to any other surface he could use to eventually launch himself at the massive behemoth himself.
He Strikes Bowser right in the nose to disorientate him as he results himself to land on the turtles shoulder to steady himself, grabbing onto both of Bowser's horns like a bull rider. Bowser growls as he tries to get Luigi off of him but is unable to grab ahold of the man, but he was to fast. Luigi leaps off of Bowser's shoulder, horns still gripped firmly in his hands, with enough force to throw the King forwards and body slam him making the floor rumble and stone rattle and crack as dust fell from the ceiling, if it wasn't for the fact he had seen his brother do this so many times before, he would have assumed the floor was about to give way.
Bowser was laying on the floor for a moment before Luigi grabs hold of his tail and swings him around, throwing him into a wall just a he did to his brother, however he ended up going straight through the wall forcing and Luigi follows quickly after him.
Bowser's troops were outside the exterior of the castle so as Luigi is making his way towards Bowser he now had to fight of the guards, which he does with ease at this point. He headbutts, kicks, dodges and punches his way through them, at one point he's surrounded by so many he waits until they are all close together in a tight crowd before he grabs a few of them and uses his Thunder hand, schocking all of them. This doesn't kill them, but it did leave them incapacitated for the time being.
After he deals with them he returns his attention to Bowser who is starting to get back up, albeit winded. Luigi runs up and kicks him in the gut knocking him onto his side, using one of the guards shields laying on the floor to shield himself from the fire Bowser spews out in an effort to stop Luigi and defend himself. The flames licked at the edges of shield, watching as the metal slowly began to glow red from the heat, but it did its job well at protecting the plumber, by some miracle the metal didn't burn Luigi.
Luigi keeps wailing on Bowser to the point he doesn't try to get up anymore, he waits until enough of his strength returns to throw him off. And when he does it just pisses Luigi off more. Luigi grabs a sword from another guard he landed near and charges towards Bowser. He uses his Thunder hand to shock him enough to put him on the ground again.
Luigi climbs on top of him and is screaming at the top of his lungs as he holds the sword high above his head glistening in the shine of the lava around them as he planning on swinging it down on Bowser's head. Bowser has genuine fear plastered across his bloodied face as all he can do is stare and watch as this once very meek plumber was about to kill him. Everyone watches on, the guards that have come back to consciousness can only look on, and Peach looks on in horror from the other room. Was Luigi really about to kill Bowser? No.
Luigi screams again and as he brings the sword down Bowser closes his eyes, waiting for the metal to slice through his scales and flesh. Then he hears the clanging of metal next to his head. He's almost to scared to open his eyes until he just hears Luigi's harsh and heavy breathing. He opens his eyes to see Luigi still stood above him on his chest, but no sword in hand. He was seething, but he was also scared. Luigi got off of Bowser and walked back towards Peach and Mario, still trying to control his own breathing, but before leaving Bowser he said "please don't make me do this again." and then walks off to go help Peach and Mario. Bowser doesn't chase after them, he only watches, his eye's never leaving Luigi as he helped his brother stand up, his right arm swung around Luigi's shoulders while his left was swung around Peach's.
How come he has never seen this side of Luigi before? He can't decide if he wants to fight him again, or not to test the man in fear, what if next time he didn't throw away that sword. He took the blade that was left laying on the ground next to his head in his hand. He almost killed him.

This is gonna be disorganized but I haven’t seen anyone talk about it so I wanna share it before it gets proven/disproven, I’ll tidy up later with details and sources
Jujutsu Kaisen theory: Yuji Itadori has a heavenly restriction like Maki Zenin (pre-powerup)
Spoilers for some amount of the manga ahead:
We know that itadori is crazy strong, to the point that megumi claims he could physically beat maki during the planning for the exchange event. (Plus casually breaking world records and all that) Jujutsu techniques are often passed down from parent to child, and I have two theories as to how this could’ve happened, yet he seemingly has none at the beginning.
Theory 1: kenjaku is the source of his power
Kenjaku had possessed yuji’s mom from some time prior to his conception to some time after his birth. We don’t know the details of kenjaku’s technique so it’s possible he passes it down. Gojo states that when someone is possessed by a cursed object the cursed techniques are slowly etched into the host body, which means there’s already a possible in universe basis for this idea.
Theory 2: his mom is the source of his power
Every person who we have seen kenjaku possess (ex: Noritoshi Kamo & Geto) has been 1. notable and 2. a strong jujutsu sorcerer. Except itadori’s mom seemingly, who we know almost nothing about yet was for some reason his choice even during a very important time period. Imo this suggests that there is more to her story and she most likely was a sorcerer or at least from a sorcerer bloodline.
Either way his creation involved a powerful and/or important sorcerer which if passed down to him would explain several things, such as why he could withstand eating sukuna’s fingers and why he learns so fast. Learning rct in <3 months and black flash in like half an hour of trying is unheard of, especially because both were within a year of gaining cursed energy and one was despite no longer being sukuna’s vessel.
I feel like there’s more I’m forgetting, but I’ll double check everything later. Also sorry if someone has pointed this out before, it’s entirely likely I’m not the first and just missed it bc I’m not super active in the fandom. Good luck to everyone on the next chapter lol here’s hoping all our faves survive.

New part to Phantom thieves au
Edit: this is part 5 by the way
Lil’ P’s Obsession?; Luigi is an “angel”
Peasley hummed ‘Daisy Daisy’ as he gathered powerups in the darklands for his next heist. Sure, he could gather them in the Mushroom Kingdom, but that would lead to Mario wanting to know why he was gathering them in the first place. Besides, there were tons of rare and unique powerups here!
So trespassing on King Boo’s lands it is. Maybe he’d run into one of Luigi’s villains. That would be fun.
Peasley has just another powerup into the basket on his cloud that was already overfilled when a voice pipes up from above in a nearby tree.
“Why are you humming that creepy tune?”
Peasley abruptly stops humming and looks up to see a wannabe jester on a tree branch.
“Its a nursery rhyme and its catchy. It's not my fault movies like A Space Odyssey made it creepier. Now, London Bridges is a creepy tune to hum.” Peasley sassed back.
Dimentio raised an eyebrow behind his mask. He was pretty sure this was one of Luigi’s friends yet the guy didnt even seem concerned that he was near him.
“You… you do know who I am, right?” Dimentio asked just to double check that this was the green guy that hung around Luigi.
“Yeah, you're the demented jester dude that Red Mustache Man still whines about. Nice job getting under his skin by the way. His ‘holier than you’ attitude really grates my nerves.” Peasley laughed.
“Red.. mustashe man? You mean Mario?” Dimentio chuckled.
“Marco, Marice. Whatever his name is. I only learn the names of people who matter. Red Luigi is not worth the effort of learning a name.” Peasley dismissed with a wave of his hand.
Dimentio floats down closer to him. “What brings a hero wannabe like you to a villain’s territory?”
“Eh, Collecting powerups without Red Luigi poking his nose into my business. That guy is such a party pooper and wouldn’t mind his own business if I did this back in the Mushroom kingdom. And if I did it back in the Bean kingdom, my Mother would ground me or something. So, collecting them where Red dude wouldn't check is my best bet.” Peasley frowned. “Besides, I’m not letting Luigi upstage me in annoying his brother, so I need powerups to annoy Red Man while I break as many laws as possible. Maybe I’ll crash one of his hero parties. I don’t know. I just like annoying him. It's fun and it cures my boredom. And who said anything about being a hero? You save your kingdom one time and everyone thinks you want to be some superhero. Please. No thanks.”
“The hero wants to rebel, how cute.” Dimentio pulls out a dagger only for Peasley to roll his eyes and pull out two of his own.
“Did you know, you should always have 22 knives on you at all times? You never know when you need them. And at least half of them need to be poison-tipped. I wanted to have more on my but Luigi and Daisy limited my spending on them because it was starting to raise suspicion on me.” Peasley piped up cheerfully.
“Slow or fast-moving poison?” Dimentio asked, slightly intrigued.
“Both.” Peasley beamed. “Depends on the situation. Do I need to silence someone or do I need them to suffer?”
“You’re awfully violent for someone hailed as a heroic Prince.” Dimentio snorted.
“Well, maybe I’m tired of being labeled as some idiotic hero wannabe by everyone. Nobody sees me for anything but the try-hard hero wannabe and it's annoying.” Peasley clenched his fists. “So when Luigi snapped and decided to take advantage of people underestimating him, I decided to follow suit. Figured I might as well take advantage of it as well.”
“This isnt some game for little boys to play you know. Villianly is a serious profession and-”
Dimentio is cut off by a pouting Peasley who throws his dagger art him.
“Fiesty, huh?” Dimentio mused as he looked at the ornate dagger that embedded the tree next to his head.
Peasley just smiled that innocent smile he had perfected. “I have no idea what you mean, good sir. I’m just a normal upright citizen. I totally don’t plan to be an inconvenience and menace to society.”
“You are a gremlin,” Dimentio concludes.
Peasley’s eyes light up. “You really think so? I tried to perfect my perfect innocent child smile to throw people off. Luigi likes to joke that im a demon spawn.”
Dimentio felt slightly uncomfortable by the look Peasley was giving him. He felt like Peasley was staring at him like a new shiny toy and it was unnerving. “Yeah… sure. You seem really annoying.”
Peasley claps his hands together as he smiles widely. “I like you. You’re so cool. What kind of dagger was that that you pulled out earlier? Is it true that you can easily defeat Red Man? How many knives do you have on you? What's your favorite knife or dagger? Why do you wear that mask all the time?”
Dimentio sweatdropped. He definitely felt uncomfortable now. He should have stayed in King Boo’s Mansion.
“You’re the coolest villain ever, Dimentio-senpai.” Peasley gushed which made Dimentio regret ever getting up today.
Later that Day with Luigi
Luigi sighed as he let the loud casino noises around him blur into white noise. Ever since Waluigi disappeared (aka died), Luigi had to take over some of his shifts at Waluigi’s casino.
Strangely, it is still running even after its owner has gone missing. Just Luigi’s luck he supposed.
Luigi mainly ruins the bar and deals cards. Let it be known Luigi takes his job very seriously. That being said, he also takes his rivalry with the 3 purple nuisances seriously.
So you can imagine his reaction to overhearing Wario of all people making fun of the three villains about how pathetic they are to lose to a weakling like Luigi.
He rightfully got passive-aggressive of course.
Luigi hummed as he shook the drink and tossed the shaker into the air. As much as he was clumsy at times, he was rather skilled at making any kind of drink no matter how complicated it got when shaking the drink shaker.
Luigi poured the drink over ice and handed it to the random customer before sighing as he whipped the shaker clean.
His attention was soon drawn to what seemed to be King Boo, Dimentio, and Antasma. They seemed to be arguing with Wario. Luigi told his coworker to cover for him before he silently made his way over to them.
Luigi caught the tell end of Wario’s teasing.
“You guys call yourselves villains? Don't make me laugh. You guys cant even defeat Luigi and he’s the most pathetic person on the planet. He guy is afraid of his own shadow… yet you guys lose to him? You’re jokes.”
Luigi felt something rather dark bubble up inside of him as he clenched his fists.
How dare he. HOW DARE HE! His fights with them were not something to laugh at.
Green lightning cracks around Luigi’s fists as thunder is heard outside despite it not raining.
Dimentio, who knew about the Thunderhand powers due to Mr. L, noticed Luigi first. Dimentio knew something was about to go down.
Luigi cleared his throat as he held a tight smile that screamed murder. Wario turns around to see Luigi with an unusual look on his face.
“I heard you were talking shit about me?” Luigi hissed.
Just then more green lightning strikes outside, hitting Wario’s car. Wario looks over to see through the windows to check for storms only to see his car was on fire.
“Oh, talk about bad luck. I hope that strange lightning doesn't hit your house.” Luigi said sweetly as faint green lightning cackled around his hand.
“You little shit-” Wario goes to attack Luigi, only for Luigi to swiftly sidestep him.
“Dear me, you sir must of had a little too much to drink. You don't think I had anything to do with the unnatural weather do you?” Luigi spoke loudly in a fake innocent tone.
People all around look over to see the angry guy in yellow trying to attack the innocent and wimpy younger brother of Mario. They all saw how Wario tried to blame Luigi for the lightning. No one believed him and a group of people were mad that he would attack defenseless Luigi when he wasn't doing anything.
Within a matter of seconds, customers were trying to drag the irate Wario away from Luigi who had fake tears and an amazing act of fear going on.
“By Wario! I hope you get well from your anger issues soon.” Luigi called out with fake innocence just to sell the point that he was the victim.
Meanwhile with Mario
Mario sighed as he scouted the library for any clues that the two villains might have left behind. He knows Peach’s guards found nothing but it couldn't hurt to double-check just to be sure.
Lil’ P and Lady D seemed to have stolen a magic book and crystal according to Princess Peach. What they needed with those ancient items was anyone’s guess. But Mario knew that villains make mistakes. He just needed to find it.
He will bring down Mr. L and his two sidekicks if it's the last thing he does.
To Be continued…

In general I just don't like Zaraki as a character or as a fixture of Bleach, so I've got a clear bias, but either way it's hard to say I was "disappointed" by the stupid trajectory of his last arc appearances and his clunky power ups, when my expectations were low. But by all rights the way his character arc SHOULD have gone is that he'd connect with Unohana in their final duel and his grief at not understanding why she'd die for him (because really no one would pick him over her if we got the choice of who stayed and who died anyway) he'd slowly understand the fulfillment she had in bringing something ""better"" into the world instead of only taking lives out of it. And he'd understand the benefits of mentorship and the implicit epilogue would have positioned him as mentoring the next Kenpachi, because him caring more about watching them grow would replace his fixation on just fighting without purpose. And also obviously the next Kenpachi would be Yachiru and she obviously wouldn't be his sword spirit because that was a stupid last minute twist that doesn't even hold up by the manga's own continuity or internal logic. And it's in understanding, appreciating, and embracing his relationship with Yachiru(both of them) that he should awaken his communication with his sword spirit, not via some arbitrary "you fight good now, have a free powerup" ×2.

To this day my brain is still taken with immense brainrot about the emblem holders, especially Thane (go figure).
Like at the last couple of holders the story had already gotten stale. Emblems were handed out like cookies and everybody adjusted just fine and the big supposed sacrifice mentioned sounded kinda lame in comparison to the awesome new powers but- I keep thinking of how this was with Thane, being the first one to accept it.
Before him, there was no precedent! He had no idea what would happen to him, and neither did Respen really. He had no sense of comfort in that another mortal had paved the way before him and successfully inherited an emblem, because nobody had!! It speaks of the sheer terror and determination that lead him to risk having his body teared apart by the combined forces of all the gales in the world. And that's only skimming the surface of how his choice really and truly affected him. I will go full tinfoil hat below, and while Lilith proooobably didn't think that hard abt this- it's more fun this way.
What I keep coming back to when I think of it is the sheer amount of stress it took on him. Both in body and mind. The text itself says the emblem was "woven into his body", and considering that the emblem is basically the force of nature distilled into a pretty little glowy symbol, I can't imagine said emblem forcibly reconstructing your body to be anything but horrifically painful.
One hc I've had for a while is related to this. Noticed that all the other emblem holders have white hair? True Solise and Baden had white/silver hair before, but Brutus and Belinda had light hair that turned white upon transformation. Thane on the other hand had much darker hair than the rest, and his hair similarly didn't lighten all the way to white. But it *did* lighten significantly. And sure blue isn't exactly a logical step when lightening dark grey/black hair, but fantasy setting fantasy rules (also it looks good but I digress). As I see it, the hair lightening process could be a physical effect of the sheer stress put upon their bodies when transforming, following the same logic that hair can turn white following immense stress and trauma.
Another thing is the mental aspect of all of this. I hc that Solise had the easiest transition of them all, considering she already possessed innate abilities that connected her to the voices and lives of all the greenery in the entire Dark Forest. However in comparison to like, say Thane, whose only mildly supernatural senses were an uncanny ability to pinpoint an enemies' weakpoints, he had to quickly and suddenly adjust to being a mortal avatar of the wind. And depending on how his connection to the element compared to a divine being born from the elements with the sole purpose of being the unbridled force of said elements embodied, that's one hell of a jump from "I have some heightened senses" to "my mind is now all of a sudden barraged with a deep understanding of the element unattainable to mere mortals, and an awareness amplified to the thousands of the largest storms to the smallest gusts of winds near here and across half the damn continent".
Like you can't tell me he didn't have to take a moment after the initial crisis blew over (hah) to try his best to not go clinically insane as he's assaulted by sensory inputs so vastly beyond his previous experience as his senses stretch far far far beyond his own mortal body. There's some real eldricht potential here!!
It's why I disliked the magical girl-esque transformations in the animated shorts, as it missed out on showing just how excruciating such a transformation had the potential to be. And lend more credibility to the idea that accepting such an emblem actually *was* more of a harsh choice than simply "uuuuh you're gonna be chased by these mob npcs that are gonna be where you're intending to go regardless but now you'll have awesome powerups to actually fight them hmm hmmm difficult choice to make".
#afk arena#this is still driving me mildly insane but that's just common brainrot innit#kinda want to draw Thane trying not to go insane too maybe later

okok here’s a bunch of dt commentary since i’ve gone through a good chunk more of the story <3 <3
FIRST OF ALL: SHTOLA AND RAHA ARE HEERREEEEEEEEWWW
^^^WE’RE GETTING THE BAND BACK TOGETHER 🎉🎉🎉🎉💛💝💞💛💞💝💝💞💛
I DID NOT KNOW!!!! THAT WE!!!!!!! WERE GOING TO ANOTHER REFLECTION AND I’M AAAAAAA. SHAKING MY HANDS AROUND LET’S GOOO <333 KR.ILE BEING **FROM** ANOTHER REFLECTION IS ALSO THE COOLEST THING !!!!?!? <33 i’m pretty sure they already gave a reason for why she was a suitable vessel for hy.daelyn but maybe that somehow ties into it too…..? who knows!!! either way AAA <333
i knew the Sudden Switch To Sci-Fi Genre was coming but EFNKSJCKD. i can’t believe they gave z.oraal ja video game powerups .
i really really enjoy that the focal relationships of dt are familial… dt is a story about siblings helping each other grow and also siblings having such conflicting visions for the world that they have to kill each other. i really liked the scene where wuk l.amat declares that she has to kill z.oraal ja. Augh </3. i do think his motivations are a little bit boring but let’s be real they’re never going to be able to write an antagonist better than emet-s.elch so fndjskfkg. we’re not getting another amaurot our expectations can’t be THAT high here
^^THE TWINE CREW???FROM SHB????? SHOWING UP???? BUT DIFFERENT?????!!!?? WHAT!!!!!!!!! i am so curious for the explanation as to why they have exact lookalikes on the source but waah…;; a world where magnus’s wife is ok :’) waaaahhh <33333
^rudyraha. :) <3 <3 <3
I THINK IT’S VERY CUTE THAT THE PAST THREE EXPACS ALL INCLUDE SIGNIFICANT MOMENTS OF PEOPLE COMING TOGETHER TO BUILD SOMETHING HUGE. the mt. gulg talos in shb, the ragnarok in ew, and now the train in dt hehe. <3 it’s funny that it’s a recurring thing but also very sweet because it represents how the mcs’ adventures unite all kinds of people & inspire them to pursue a goal that will better their lives. it’s about hopeee it’s all about hopeeee babeyy <33
THE TRAIN SEQUENCE WAS COOOLL HEHE. I ENJOY RAHA CONTRIBUTING HIS KNOWLEDGE FROM THE CRYSTARIUM THAT WAS VERY CUTE… and return of his vanish spell!!! <333
magitek is obviously a staple of the ff series but some of how it’s done here reminds me specifically of it in xv… i wonder if they took inspiration from any of it hmhmhm…
(flash warning below) VANGUARD WAS COOL i enjoy walking into a boss fight for the first time and being met with 1000 line aoes ⬇️ (/genuine). i think they have a good balance of dungeon mechs being more intense to fit w/ the expac progression but also not being too difficult as it’s still msq content. i’ve had fun w/ all the bosses they’ve introduced :> <3
(^he did not even apply death’s design until after his burst phase AND he was too distracted to even do it correctly FAKE gamer)
^the way they wrote this codex entry gets me directly in the heart . shadow.bringers is good did you guysknow that shb is good TT <3333;;;;
^raha *places my hands gently on your shoulders* everything reminds me of the crystal tower. 💛
^^^FF.IX REFERENCE !!!!!!!!!!!!! I FORGOT DT WAS GOING TO HAVW IX STUFF IN IT LET’S GO DAGGERHEADS WE WIN. HEHE <33
MEETING C.AHCIUA WAS A JOY. LITERALLY MOST ADORABLE CUTSCENE I LOVE HER???? <333 i also wish to be a silly spinny robot that goes O_O <3
^you are so cute raha. <3
^THEY WROTE LINDBLUM AS THE PLACE UTILIZING WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION WHEN IT WAS ALEXANDRIA DOING THAT IN IX??? HOW COULD THEY DO THIS TO MY MAIN MAN LINDBLUM
^^^SHADOW.BRINGERS FANS WILL BE LIKE HMMM GETTING A LOT OF FLOOD OF LIGHT VIBES FROM THIS FJNDKFNJFDK <333
i honestly wasn’t very into the alexandria stuff on initial reaction just because i loved seeing tural so much and the whole story just changed pace out of the blue, but i became interested when they began introducing the soul stuff i do think some cool things could come out of that….. i’m GUESSING the twist with s.phene is that she’s a robot….?? or like?? a soul with the illusion of a physical form question mark?????? i’m also assuming it’ll be revealed that alexandria put up the barrier way-back-when to keep themselves safe & claim the land’s supply of electrope for themselves or something, and she was probably involved in it somehow Who Knows i’ll find out. <3
#lem liveblogs#videos#xivposting#dt spoilers#flashing#i’m sure no one here is familiar enough with the reaper playstyle to notice my mistakes but i was staring at that clip for so long-#like YOUR ROTATION?? LEMMY???!? EHFJNDJ <33

I was tagged by @go-go-devil!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
I currently have 151.
2. What is your AO3 wordcount?
327,526
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently the most recent fics I wrote have been for Cadence of Hyrule but I've also recently written for Iconoclasts and Pokemon.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
The Ferris Wheel (Bugsnax, Snorplo) - 248
Gemini (Bugsnax, body horror) - 169
Imitation Beef (Bugsnax, continuation of a canon scene) - 165
Imago (Elden Ring, Miquella wakes up as a big bug) - 154
Field Notes (Bugsnax, AU, cosmic horror) - 148
5. Do you respond to comments?
I always try to, even if it's just to say thanks.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
oh god probably one of my bugsnax fics... bugsnax really was ripe for angst. Both One Last Dance and Weary end in the implication that everybody has succumbed to the snax. I tend to leave things on more ambiguous notes than angsty, so even if the characters are in a sad or desperate situation it's uncertain what's going to happen to them next.
7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Sleep is Dark Souls III fic that implies the age of dark is actually a good thing and Lorian and Lothric survive to see it after all they've been through. I know I have written other happy things but this one is very hopeful.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I've gotten a couple shitty comments or ones where I was just like, I have no idea what you're trying to communicate to me, but they're extremely rare and I just delete them if I do get them.
9. Do you write smut? If so, which kind?
I do not write smut. Just not my thing.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest crossover you’ve ever written?
Not often, I have a few Fromsoft crossovers but I did write a Bugsnax/Nier Automata fic that never got finished. That's Between My Teeth.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, quite a few. Ao3 user Dashana in particular has translated a number of my Iconoclasts fics to Russian. I will probably never say no to having a fic translated if it helps it reach a larger audience, especially because I tend to pick niche fandoms or subjects.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have, with @malicious-fisheeves and with @wheeled-jack as well as some other friends who don't really use tumblr.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
I really don't feel that strongly about ships much of the time but I do really like Wally/May from Pokemon RSE/ORAS and Gwyndolin/Darkmoon Knightess from Dark Souls.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Ugh I have this Mochi Mayhem rewrite thing in the works but I just can't seem to make any progress on it. I may put it out there unfinished but the problem is I have a big chunk of the beginning done and then a scene at the very end and nothing in the middle lmao.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I've been told I'm really good at building dread. I personally think I'm good at writing platonic and familial character relationships, and writing characters who might be antagonists but who are complex and sympathetic.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I have some trouble when it comes to writing incidental side characters that might serve a purpose for one scene but aren't really that important.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I really enjoy writing dialogue, it's one of my favorite parts of the process.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I wrote a Rayman 3 fic about some OCs of mine probably back in 2003 or something. It was about these griffin-like creatures that had the powerups tested on them and it fucked them up because they were flesh and blood rather than made of cloth like the Hoodlum enemies are. They were trying to escape the facility they were kept in. Unfortunately I do not think it's still posted on my old ff.net account so it may be lost media.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
I'll always be extremely proud of Monarch Sunrise (the bugsnax timeskip cruise fic) for the sheer scale of it (as far as my fics go) and for all the help I had plotting and editing it.
This is a tough question to answer though because I'm really happy with many of them. I'd say my favorite thing I've written lately is Lyre Lyre, my Octavo backstory fic, because I think it does a good job of laying out his situation in a concise and entertaining manner, like he's telling this story to a crowd.
as for tagging folks uhhh how about @wheeled-jack @mumagi @disco-descent

i gotta get this outta my system, i gotta talk about the mafia games
i never played the original but i did play the remake of the original. and its easily become one of my fave games of all time. its one i really really need to replay at some point. i would almost compare it to red dead 2, in terms of how cinematic and compelling the narrative is, but its absolutely not as detailed which. sucks, because the game world is visually stunning, but there isnt much to do in it.
now, mafia 2? lmaoooo i hate this game. its one of those games where a lot of longtime gamer dudebros talk about it like its one of the best games of all time and i am firmly of the belief that it is all through nostalgia goggles. i only played it for the first time a couple of years ago and like. i cant really explain it better than "a good ol' boy's game." no, i dont think the sleazy played-for-laughs sidekick joe is charming and cute, i think hes a fucking creep. no, i dont want a close up of some old guy's O face in 2010's ps3 graphics while he's getting a blowjob. no, i dont fucking think vito scaletta is an interesting protagonist, i think he is the poster child for the kind of uncomfortable misogynistic manpain main characters that were rampant in games at the time.
and mafia 3 was a fucking tragedy. i want to like this game so fucking badly. i bought the collectors edition box for it after playing it for a while because i genuinely love the art and the vibe, and also since the game did so poorly, it was cheap as dirt. the gameworld is fucking gorgeous. the vibe is fascinating, as its set in 1960's new orleans. just. too fucking bad the gameplay loop is dogshit, and fucking fan favorite vito scaletta makes a return and if you want ANY of the good powerups in the game, you have to be buddy buddy with him. mafia 3 fucking kills me. i wish so, so badly it had been a good game, if the gameplay had been better it also very easily would have been one of my Faves Of All Time, i just know it.

What have you been dying to talk about? ⭐️
This ask game
I've been dying to talk about a lot of things. But lets talk about Megatron saving Eren's life!
TW Suicide attempt. TW Suicide. TW Suicide Discussion.
So in the main AOT Timeline, Eren asks Historia to eat him because he realizes that he was never special to begin with. He didn't have the power to save anyone, and so many people died trying to protect him. But Historia rejected the power her father tried to manipulate her into taking while reigniting Eren's will to live along with his comrades before they fight against Rod's Titan form and kill him, successfully bringing the old government to an end.
I knew that in AOP, I wanted to cut that Rod Reiss titan battle because with Optimus and Megatron there, their actions would have prevented that from happening. The coup would still be successful, but Historia doesn't kill her father in such a grandiose manner. She kills him rather unceremoniously via gun shots.
However, Eren isn't inspired by Historia or his friends to keep going. That doesn't happen. He still has the wrapped interpretation that he didn't matter and that he needed to die to bring back peace. And even after he is rescued by everyone else, he doesn't tell anyone else how he's feeling. Megatron didn't speak up about it because up until that point, he despised Eren so much. Meanwhile, Historia is just riding a high of killing her father and freeing herself. No one else thinks to ask about Eren's condition and well-being.
So on top of the fact that he doesn't gain a powerup like in the original anime, there's no Rod Reiss Titan to stop and raise his self-esteem, and Optimus and Megatron's interference into the story, Eren just feels like shit and feels like he does not matter at all. And how can he not think that. The only accomplishment he's really gotten was using the boulder to seal the gate in Trost. His fight with Annie? Sure he was doing well, but Optimus had dealt the killing blow and he still couldn't save Levi's squad. The Battle in Stohess was no different either. Optimus was the one that had to save Eren from Annie. The Battle with Reiner and Bertholdt? No. That was Optimus and Megatron tag teaming to dispatch of Reiner, and Megatron defeated Bertholdt single handedly, quite of few times in fact. Megatron was the one that captured Bertholdt. Not anyone else. The Coup? He gets captured, ready to be eaten, and it's Megatron that saves his life and inspires Historia to defect from her father while Optimus inspires the masses to rebel against the false king. He has does nothing of true success or value. Nothing of importance. And Megatron breaks this down in front of Eren out of spite towards the teen:
"The only reason that you consider it as such is because you have an emotional attachment to him!" Megatron declared as he dropped Eren, "You adore him! And while Optimus has actually been helping humanity you are nothing more than dead weight trying to pluck at straws!"
"I've helped humanity more than you!" Eren countered.
"By moving a rock! Bravo!" Megatron mocked as he slowly clapped, "Optimus could have easily moved something like that twice his size! He's been helping killing titans and actually capturing Lionheart! I'm not even here for a day and I managed to kidnap that pathetic creature you call humanity's greatest threat!"
"That doesn't mean you're doing this out of the goodness of your heart!" Eren retorted.
"That may be true, but doesn't excuse the fact that you've done nothing to help humanity move forward or even pose as a threat to your enemies!" Megatron declared, "I consider Prime's three human children more of a threat than you! You can't use your powers correctly, you don't know where you received it, and you have to be saved by Optimus or some other human! You were never humanity's hope! Optimus is! Everything special about you came out of a bottle! You are just as worthless as any other human on this miserable rock, and your existence will amount to nothing!"
So what does Eren have now? His friends? No. They've been able to function without him for a long time. And many of them were dead now because of him. His parents? He couldn't save his mother and he ate his father. Optimus? Well, did Optimus, the closest thing he's had to a father since Grisha, really need him to do anything? He was worthless, and decides to make a decision:
Optimus nodded his head as he put a hand on his shoulder. "If you need anything, just let me know."
Eren nodded his head as Optimus walked away from the cart to help someone else. Eren sighed before noticing something in the cart. It was the prototype gun Hanji worked on. He picked up the device and saw that it had four bullets inside the revolver. Eren held his breath and shut his eyes before making a decision: hiding the weapon in the jacket provided for him.
Eren tries to hold it together. He tries to keep up appearances and let everyone have a good day as Historia is crowned queen and their successes are celebrated. He says thank you to Armin, but he doesn't want to say anything else to tip Armin off on what he was about to do that night. He leaves the party with the gun in hand. He's planning on dying unceremoniously. No funeral. No blaze of glory. Just something so simple for someone as pathetic as he is. But then:
"I didn't peg you as someone who would actually commit suicide," a voice said.
Eren's heart stopped as he looked behind him to see Megatron's holoform with his arms crossed. He felt fear rise in him before aiming the gun at the ex-con.
"What are you doing?!" Eren demanded.
"Stopping you," Megatron answered as he walked forward.
Now let's talk about Megatron. In the past few chapters and the Purpose OVA, I've established that Megatron is absolutely miserable and remorseful for his actions during the war. And the one thing that is actually keeping him going and keeping him alive, is the opportunity to make amends with Optimus for all the shit that he pulled in the past. He had directly confessed this truth to Armin during the coup. That he's fighting on this world because he wants to make amends with Optimus. The problem? Megatron doesn't care about the humans, or the world that Optimus is trying to protect. He insults the humans at every possible turn. He had consistently threatened their lives. He insulted Eren out of spite for calling Megatron out for making Optimus suffer. The humans fear him because he hates the humans and because it is out of habit to make people fear him. Just because Unicron hijacked his body does not mean Megatron is going to do a complete 180 in belief and behavior. Megatron knows that Optimus would want him to get along with the humans. It is a way to gain Optimus' trust, but Megatron is still holding onto biases that won't just go away. On top of that, his own mental and emotional trauma is telling him that he is going to fail in making amends with Optimus because all he is is a monster. He's horrible. Selfish. Spiteful. Hateful. What he wants is practically an unobtainable goal and he feels like he's wasting his time.
However, when he does spend more time on this world with the humans, he feels...different. Hanji looks at him without fear. Levi is willing to challenge him to protect his comrades. Armin and Mikasa travel with him during the coup, both humans are trying so desperately to understand Megatron. The former warlord is getting front row seats to how humans act and behave and subconsciously realizes how similar Cybertronians are to them. He's still trying to justify it as a means to an end: protect the humans and he’ll get more favor with Optimus. It’s his poison; it’s what he’s drunk off of. But their behavior and actions toward him, those moments of wonder, bravery, compassion, and mercy are getting to him. He tries not to dwell on it too much.
But then, finally, finally, Optimus says that he trusts him again. It’s not forgiveness, but it is a start to what he has been desiring for so long. It even makes him emotional. He doesn’t understand why he feels relief and happiness after the fact. Maybe because he didn’t have to lie and manipulate for the most part to get what he wanted. He earned it. It felt good. Then he spots Eren leaving with a gun in hand and follows him out to stop him, knowing full well what Eren was about to do.
And he didn’t have to go and stop him. He got want he wanted out of Optimus: trust. The humans didn’t matter to him. But he knew this human mattered in particular to Optimus and a few other humans. He knows Eren plays a piece in the game. So he has to stop him without forcing Eren’s hand to end his life.
But Megatron didn’t understand. Despite his weakness, Eren had some semblance of value to his comrades. He knows Optimus cares about him, despite the fact that he was nothing more than a rage-filled child. He still demands to know, despite Eren pissing him off, why Eren wanted to end his life. And Eren confesses:
"YOU WERE RIGHT!" Eren screamed, "YOU WERE FUCKING RIGHT, OKAY?! I WAS NEVER HUMANITY'S HOPE AND MY EXISTENCE WAS A JOKE!"
Megatron took a small step back as Eren's arms fell to his side.
"I took power that wasn't mine," Eren began was tears began to fall, "I couldn't use my powers correctly, letting my friends die. Thomas, Mina, Hannes, Levi's squad, I couldn't do a damn thing. I put all of my friends in danger. I put humanity in danger, and wasn't even able to help figure out the secrets of the titans. I ate my own father, and I wasn't strong enough to save my mother."
Eren hung his head and covered his eyes with his hands, being mindful of where the gun was pointed. "You were right. I wasn't needed. I always ended up preventing humanity from moving forward. Armin and Mikasa worry about me too much, while Optimus is just wasting his time on me. I'm just…I'm just some stupid kid and everything special about me came out of a fucking syringe! Historia won't take the power so there's no point! There's no point in me having this power! I might as well just end my life since that would benefit humanity more than me being around!"
Eren continued to sob as he fell to his knees, unaware that Megatron was looking down at him in horror. Megatron shouldn't feel like this. He shouldn't feel guilty! He shouldn't feel sorry for the boy's pathetic actions! He wanted to see his fighting spirit broken! But now that he got it, he wanted nothing more than for the aching feeling to just stop! The boy wanted to die…and he was indirectly responsible for leading the boy to this point.
By the Allspark, what had he done? He said he would turn away from actions like this, but he instead he has some need to still relish in them. The boy may have been ignorant, but he still had a purpose. He felt he had meaning. Now, he was a soul that screamed in agony because he believed he didn't matter in the world. And it was his fault.
Megatron completely fucked up. In the worst way possible.
Now TFP Megatron wouldn’t have given a shit. He just punched or threatens or kills the problem and it goes away. Sure he said he forfeited the war in Predacon’s Rising, stating he was sick of oppression, but old habits die hard, as I have stated. Additionally, Megatron’s never been able to sit with the consequences of his actions on an individual. He didn’t really sit with the fact he really hurt Optimus with his poor attitude and violence. But now Megatron’s on a world where he’s forced to acknowledge his behavior. He’s forced to see how his actions affect an individual. He pushed Eren towards suicide. And Eren is valued, not just by the Walls but by his comrades who are still alive. But Megatron made Eren feel this way out of spite and hatred, but because of this world, it only makes him feel guilt. Optimus just put his trust in Megatron, and this is how the former warlord repaid him? By pushing his student in a dark direction? Doesn’t help that Unicron is actively taunted him in his mind, calling Megatron a monster, and putting his claws on Eren. Megatron snaps out of his hallucination and stops Eren from ending his life. Then:
Megatron pulled Eren's arm upward, redirecting the gun to the sky and forcing Eren to look at him. "How dare you, you ungrateful-!"
Megatron stopped as he felt Eren trembling in his hand, turning away and holding his other hand out in self-defense. This was wrong; his method of provoking fear was wrong. He had to remind him of what he had, and what he could hold onto.
"You have no idea how lucky you are, Eren," Megatron declared.
Eren stopped shaking and sharply turned his head to see Megatron's expression of anger…and sadness?
Eren is still cowering in fear, just like everyone else. And Megatron realizes this is wrong. Megatron is acknowledging that his current method is what got him in this position in the first place, and he needs to fix it. He even calls Eren by his name instead of ‘Prime’s pet’ which is stilled used as a demeaning and dehumanizing tactic for all the humans he’s had extended interaction with. Megatron doesn’t have respect for humans, except for Mikasa, so he refuses to call them by name. But now here he is, calling Eren by name. Megatron reminds him of his value, his purpose, friends and family. He brings up Armin and Mikasa and how they feel about him. If Megatron didn’t interact with Armin and Mikasa for an extended period of time and learned about them, he would not have been successful in stopping Eren from ending his life. They needed Eren just as much as he needed them. Megatron tells Eren basically ‘I have nothing. You have something. Don’t throw it away.’
Eren watched in shock as Megatron got down on one knee. The ex-con lowered Eren's arm and loosened his grip on it, moving his hand towards Eren's own and firmly grasping it.
"Give me the gun," Megatron requested, "Do not make a mistake that you will regret because you believe it will benefit others. There are still others that need you."
Eren looked Megatron in the eye, unable to tell if he was lying or not before looking down at the weapon in his hand. "What…what if I can't do it? What if I'm not strong enough?"
"You will struggle with this," Megatron declared, "This is not something that will be easy, but if you're willing to take that first step, there will be others to help. And you will be able live a life that is yours. The only thing I ask is that you don't pull the trigger. Do not make the same mistake I did: don't throw your life away."
Eren felt tears streaming down his face. What was he supposed to do? Should he give the gun to Megatron? Should he shoot himself? What would his friends do? What would Armin and Mikasa do? He would be hurting them. He lied to them about what he would do. They deserve better, but he didn't want to hurt them. He didn't want them to blame themselves for something that was his fault. It would be cruel. They needed him, and they still cared about his well-being. He couldn't do that to them. He couldn't run like a coward…
The thought of killing himself didn't please him anymore.
Megatron lowers himself to Eren’s stature and inspires Eren through his words, just like he used to do as Megatronus. It’s not enough to reignite Eren’s will to live, but it’s enough to try and give living a shot. And Megatron, uncharacteristically, gently takes the gun from Eren and fires off the remaining shots before throwing the gun away. He already contacted Optimus. He was sure he was going to be here, but Megatron musters up enough courage to say:
I’m sorry.
His first apology was to a low pathetic human that he hates. But he still apologized for his actions because he feels that much remorse. Eren doesn’t have time to question it as Armin, Mikasa, and Optimus show up. Armin and Mikasa hug Eren, and their concern makes Eren break down into tears and reinforces Megatron’s words to him. Optimus offers his help to Megatron’s holoform but he declines.
Meanwhile, Megatron lifted one of his hands and looked up to see Optimus staring down at him, holding out his hand.
"I'm going to deactivate the holoform soon," Megatron informed. "There's no point."
Optimus retracted his hand before turning his attention to the three children. "Thank you, Megatron. Thank you."
Megatron sighed to himself as he closed his eyes. "Yeah,"
The ‘thank you’ doesn’t make Megatron feel better. It makes Megatron feel worse. Because Megatron was the one who pushed Eren that far, and Optimus was thanking him for a wrong action that he caused. Megatron took Optimus trust and crushed it once more but Optimus was still thanking him. He leaves to grieve over how messed up he is while Optimus Carrie’s Eren back to the others. Eren tries to apologize but Optimus tells him he doesn’t have to. Eren was still here. That was enough.
I really liked writing this scene, and I really liked how it ultimately turned out. I didn’t want this to be the thing that redeems Megatron but I wanted it to be a start. But Megatron saving Eren is ultimately going to come back to bite him when Megatron is fully redeemed and Eren activates the Rumbling.
