feeling so many emotions right now but i just want to say that the brettsey fandom has been the best fandom ive been in…the most welcoming fandom who welcomed me with open arms 🥲 even tho there have been some tough times lol. ive met so many amazing people in this fandom. truth be told, this show has brought me so much comfort (regardless of how i felt towards the ending). i started watching in nov 2020, a time where i needed something to find comfort in, and i found that within this show and ship. i discovered my love for giffing and making edits because of this show and it is something i’ll always be grateful for 🥹 i do not know what is going to happen with this blog if im being honest - ill be on here once in a while but after giffing this episode, i may be taking a break. other than that, i just wanted to say how grateful and happy i am we got to experience this together <3 here’s to brettsey endgame 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽

Coming from someone who’s seen the ups and downs of this Pens season in between a busy work and personal life, I love that you echoed my thoughts exactly on the pressure to tank for 1OA or rebuild quick!

Others:

1. As another poster pointed out, just because another team let go of their core guy (see BOS, TBL) means the Pens should do the same. bUt GrEtZkY gOt TRaDeD. Like no, it’s blatant disrespect to trade a legend just because you want to and it means a lot for them to play and retire with just one team. Trading Sid so he can win another Cup? Some greats never even got one in their lives and still stayed put!! Plus, blowing it up has zero guarantees. More times than not it’ll backfire on the team.

2. About the pressure on the Pens to tank now because someone did it fast and reaped the rewards fast…don’t ever rush a rebuild because short term gain, long term pain. Plus there’s no benefit in pressuring teams to tank, that’s how you set a losing culture around a team that’ll take years to recover.

TLDR: Be careful what you wish for, Pens and hockey fans!

One of the slices of this discussion that irritates me the most is how all these hockey men say they respect Sid so much, and that's why they want him somewhere else, but it all comes back to treating athletes as commodities, you don't actually respect Sid, because if you did you would have heard the thousands of times he's said he wants to stay with the penguins. They just want him to be Canada Ken, hockey style, so they can feel something for once in their lives

What also is wild to me is that there is a chunk of pens fans that don't seem to realize that people are buy tickets to see Sid and Geno; like this is the right decision from the pens for humane reasons but it's also the smart business decision--before they went on their 2023 run panther tickets were selling at $25 a ticket... I am too embarrassed to say what i've spent on pens tickets over the years, but people are paying to see the core--and once theyre in spending money on their jerseys and gear. AND AND AND the core doesn't cost that much! Like what would you even be solving from getting rid of a ppg center making under 9 million a year?

And right! So tanking! I just get this feeling from--I'll call them reddit pens fans--that they think they're going to get Sid again, and Geno, I guess? And Fleury because that's how many 1oas it took to win the cups, like that's delusional. LikeI said, the league just doesn't operate like that anymore. Barkov and Ekblad were huge parts of the panthers win, but so was gus forsling who was picked up on waivers, and montour who was traded for peanuts and all the misfits and then one big hockey trade that came from creative thinking not a bounce of a ping pong ball.

tl;dr: tearing down to the studs tanking relies on boring, outdated thinking that gets teams mired in the wilderness, and whether he fails or succeeds what KD is trying to do now I think has a better chance of getting the team back into contention even if we win the rest of the games this season

sometimes I randomly think about the time a girl posted in this girls only Facebook group I’m in telling everyone how she broke up with her boyfriend and he lied saying that he lost the spare key she gave him, only to then break into her apartment when she wasn’t home and steal the cat they’d adopted while they were together, but then he denied having done this and she didn’t really have proof that he took the cat since he wouldn’t let her come into his place and look for it. And then another girl saw this post and knew her ex-boyfriend, and she was like “girl. I used to hook up with your mans back in xxxx and I still have his number. If you want, I’ll hit him up and get him to invite me back to his place and see if your cat’s there.” And the OP was like “bet.”

So this woman hit up homie dog, asked him out for drinks, went home with him, slept with him, and then woke up in the middle of the night and TOOK THE CAT. Like she had only said that she would confirm if the cat was there but then she took it upon herself to steal this woman’s cat back. Like she full on Trojan horsed this man and then hit up homegirl like “I got the goods. Where you wanna meet.” And then the two of them posted a photo of them together with the cat to the group.

And I just think women supporting women is so beautiful.

I want to put my two cents on a Caleb headcanon cause I saw a few and I don’t like em so here’s mine for the possessive girlies out there.
