Some people have been saying that live action Sanji feels a little bit more soft and endearing than manga Sanji, but they can't pinpoint why because he does still feel like Sanji. Some people think it's just Taz's acting, and he does do a great job, but I don't think that's the main reason. Others think his flirting has been turned down a bit, but honestly it hasn't really? He still openly flirts with Nami when they first meet, and he still says things like "women are a mystery to be unraveled" and other goofy simp stuff. And his kindness like being willing to feed the hungry no matter what is obviously something that was always there (it's why Luffy chose him in the first place. Hell, in the manga he chooses Sanji as his cook before he ever actually tastes Sanji's cooking, simply because he sees Sanji feed Gin and realizes what kind of person Sanji is).

But there is a difference! And I've figured out what it is, because there IS one manga/anime Sanji trait that wasn't present in live action Sanji: his hatred of men.

Seeing all of my qsmp friends on here talk about the horrors of shipping on englishtwt is so funny to me. I haven't downloaded twitter and only have an account to vote on mcc polls. I don't have the app, I use the website alone and even then it's only to check what place insert creator here is on trending. My consumption of qsmp fanart and fan media is exclusively through tumblr and very niche corners of tik tok. Everyone I've talked to or interacted with are absolutely down for shipping the characters in a gay sex way because they're currently living on gay sex island and have gay sex on stream. The concept that any of what these creators are doing live could even possibly be "against their boundaries" is fuckin absurd to me. Vegeta and Foolish proudly introduce each other to the Brazilian creators as boyfriends. Quackity has canonically never met a woman before Jaiden. Speaking of which, there is one woman on the entire server and shes aro/ace both in game and in real life. Most of the eggs actively ship the creators together and ask for new polycules to form to give them new parents. All of the brazilian creators are in one polycule taking care of one egg. Slime asked "tiktok edit this" while he was having minecraft sex with Mariana. After they broke character and talked about their personal lives yesterday during the egg finale Mariana asked Charlie to break up with his girlfriend and marry him instead so he could get a green card. Then they fucked in Mariana's bed to another song as a fairwell before ending stream. They both admitted to loving the fanart they saw on twitter of them passionately making out and said it was their favorite part of the server. The only person who even mildly dislikes any of the shipping is Grace LMAO

Not just because I'm straying from the original goals I had when making this blog (still working on fixing that), but also because I misread a poll and clicked the wrong option only to say out loud to myself, "Oh. Well. Why don't I just piss on the poor, then?" as a horribly roundabout way of mocking my own reading comprehension, implying that I can't count on myself to read things properly so I should just resign myself to always misreading them.

Just wanted to say thank you for the ottosuba posting you've done lately. The English speaking fandom is absolutely barren with Otto content, let alone ottosuba content. So to have someone as awesome about it as you post via Tumblr posts, fanfic, fanart, etc. on a good(-ish) website like Tumblr is like finding a diamond in the rough. Anyhow, looking forward to any future ottosuba content from you!

So I think I'm finally getting a contract and I'm going to start my new studies (as a youth/school counselor) in my old school. I met the principal today and had a talk with him, and he said he was pleased to see me there and would like to have me there because I already know my way around and seemed to manage things just fine when I was still their student. So, that's great, I'm finally getting somewhere.

But I'll have to wait until Friday because he's still not quite sure who's going to be my supervisor, so he's going to have a talk with a couple of staff members about it at first.

And then my teacher in my new school is already pressing me with contract matters and stuff, wanting me to start earlier than I had originally planned or at least get the contract done by then, so uhh. I'm going to have a Teams meeting with her on Friday at 8 o'clock in the morning (I'm not a morning person at all), and I'm sure we're going to have such a lovely discussion about my schedule and study plans and all that stuff.

All this phone-calling and paperwork is giving me a headache. And I still have some school assignments to do and to return before next week, and guess what - ya girl just wants to read and write fanfiction all day and all night. 🤪 Priorities, I has them.

Today I made a terrible mistake. This mistake was starting my Literature essay.

It's due in three weeks. It's 3000 words. Ok, not bad, I can do 1k a week and have it done for the deadline.

I had a word breakdown, telling me exactly how many words I needed per text to hit the minimum so that I could be comfortable getting it done. My word breakdown was putting it at about 1250 words per text, giving me 2500 total after the texts, and then needing only about a hundred for the introduction and conclusion to hit the minimum (10% leeway, so 2700).

Then my introduction was a bit over 200 words.

Ok, no problem, I think to myself. Means I either have less to do, or I'll be more comfortably in the limits in case I need to take things out. This is a good thing. So I move on to my first text, of which I'm talking about two characters; Carmilla, with my focus being on Laura and Carmilla. I'm expecting to spend most of it on Carmilla but start with Laura anyway.

I end the Laura segment at 1263 words.

And then wrote another 400 on Carmilla.

So my essay is now at around 1800 out of the required 3000, I've still got three characters of my second text to do (which is Dracula, for which I'm doing Lucy Mina and the three vampires in the castle), and then my conclusion, all in about 1000 words.

And then it gets worse, because I don't know whether I'm supposed to count quotes or not. Or footnotes. Because I think the teacher said footnotes count, but I don't remember, and since it's the holidays I'm not going to get an answer from the teachers any time soon. But if I do count both quotes and footnotes I'm at 1968 words, which means I've got the Dracula bits, the footnotes from those bits, and my conclusion in 1300 words (because my absolute maximum allowed wordcount is 10% above the 3000, so 3300) before I need to start actually cutting things out.

Not bad for about five hours of work, though.

i owe morosetrans my life for their english translations of 我家大师兄脑子有坑 in the first place. and yet. every day i question their decision to romanize 大师兄 as "dashi xiong"

(da shixiong was right there! even da shi xiong would have been more understandable! given that they also translated characters' names with a space between each syllable/character e.g. Gong Chang Sheng as opposed to Gong Changsheng... ah, i shouldn't complain about these things, and yet.)
