Poke-Japanese (Hisuian / Sinnohese / Kantonian / etc.) seems to work the same way. Mizumi likely adjusted for the time period she now lives in, but since she’s writing to her great-great-granddaughter, no need for that.

Review shiny eevee and evolutions?

For sake of ease, we're going to group these by how good their shinies are, starting with:

The "I don't think you tried at all" shame corner (Glaceon, Leafeon, and Flareon): Doing all of these at once because I have the same issue with all of them: they are WAY too similar to the original colors, leading to incredibly boring and underwhelming shinies.

Glaceon: Just ever-so-slightly lighter than the original; the sprites had a tiny bit more contrast but not much. I would recommend making the whole thing white, which is a nice snowy color; sure, it does kind of share shiny Eevee's palette then but Jolteon and Espeon are both green so it probably doesn't matter.

Leafeon: The body is a tad darker, but good luck noticing. You could make the body a light green for something monotone, you could make the leaves brown or red, something autumn-y; literally just anything else would be better.

Flareon: Flareon the least bad of this group and mostly suffers from 3D conversion (its old sprites were more red while the old shiny sprites were more of a brownish gold). Easiest fix would just be to make the shiny a purer yellow like the above edit, or you could swing the opposite and do a deep red instead.

The "fine, but why?" corner (Jolteon and Espeon): Both of these ones are nice and high-contrast, and are very easy to spot compared to the non-shiny versions. The only issue with them is that the greens here feel very... random? They're not bad, but they don't feel natural.

Espeon: I like that it looks a bit like a space alien, but that really has nothing to do with the actual 'mon itself. For a Pokemon associated with the sun, you'd think they'd go for a yellow with a blue gem or something like the above (would tie it into Umbreon's shiny). At the very least, the green they chose feels way too dark for Espeon; a nice light, minty shade would've helped a lot, especially with a yellow gem or something. Also, I dislike that it has three different accent colors (red, purple, and blue).

Jolteon: The shade of green here works a lot better than the one used for Espeon, but it's an odd choice for an electric-type; once again, not bad, just odd. I would've just gone with a cyan-ish blue, which is still high-contrast but much more on theme.

The "actually good shinies" corner (Vaporeon, Eevee, Umbreon, and Sylveon): These ones are all bangers; lots of contrast and with color choices that feel natural for each.

Vaporeon: While this one borders on not having much to do with the theme, purple is at least close to blue hue-wise, so while it's not necessarily very water-y it doesn't feel like it's completely coming out of the left field either.

Eevee: Eevee's whole thing is that it's supposed to be plain and normal, so neutral colors are a must. The very light cream they used here stands out compared to the darker brown originally used but still works with the concept. Using a cream instead of pure white also allows it to keep a tiny bit of color. (I'm not posting an image of the g-max here, but I think it uses the same cream so no issues there.)

Sylveon: Sylveon doesn't actually change its hues; instead, it opts to swap its secondary and tertiary colors. This can be a risky gamble, but it works here because there was so much more pink in the original design compared to blue, so the change still really stands out. Because it uses the original palette in different proportions, it also doesn't run the risk of the colors feeling too random. Also it's trans, so that's a bonus.

Umbreon: Umbreon's shiny is a banger and you don't need me to tell you that. Swapping accent colors can be risky because it's not always that noticeable (see that Lunatone review I did a few days ago), but the yellow was such a prominent and bold part of the design that the blue swap stands out, helped by the fact that it pops really nicely against the black body is a nice "nighttime" color. Swapping the eyes to yellow further helps differentiate it, and it keeps the kind of "eerie" look that the original's red eyes invoked.

Overall: Vaporeon, Eevee, Sylveon, and Umbreon have great shinies. Espeon and Jolteon have okay shinies that are high-contrast but don't feel very natural. Glaceon, Leafeon, and Flareon barely change and are just plain boring.

Born and raised in the Kalos region with my older sister Aria under the care of our aunt Palermo, we both were interested with pokemon preforming from a very young age with Aria being a natural with her bubbly and optimistic personality. I(16F) am back, and I swear I do these for a reason.

My friend- let's call him Coal(15M), recently decided to jump off a cliff with 2 deerling.

They were dangling off the edge and couldn't get up, if nature took it's course, i don't think either would survive. Coal decided that he's climb down and help them out, but with the falling cliffside- he was getting in danger as well.

Instead of being reasonable and climbing back up, he decided to JUMP THE CHASIM to a more stable part of the Cliff- ON THE OTHER SIDE.

This valley is like- at least 3 Schoolbuses apart and he just JUMPS, LIKE A MORON! I thought it was at the same level as his first placement, but i think it was lower because he made it no sweat. Found a Cave and then met us at the top on this lighthouse thing just uptop.

Like- i'm not crazy, right!? That was stupid and dangerous and we yelled at eachother. Our other friend, Dent (18M), wasn't really helping out in that situation- he's been WAY too lenient about Coal's stupid stunts. Worst of it, Coal brushes ME off and makes me feel like I'M the crazy one.

honestly the leaks are a very bad thing. nintendo is infamous for its strict copyright so people are definitely getting sued or fired. And this might affect the way the next games due might develop, worst case scenario they're scrapped entirely or changed beyond recognition by gamefreak desperate to keep things new and subvert expectations. we got some cool beta content sure, but it's done more harm than good overall.

And as a Gen 2 lover who picked Cyndaquil as my starter in my first ever Pokemon game, I'm not looking forward to having to deal with endless memes and comments of "haha Typhlosion is a pedo" for the next few years to come.

As unpopular an opinion as it seems to be, I actually agree with you fully. I know most people are celebrating the leaks, but I think they have the very real potential to cause a lot of damage to the fandom, and possibly even the franchise as a whole. We can’t really know what Nintendo/Gamefreak will plan to do moving forward, but I agree, it’s potentially not good. It seems very likely that there will be pretty serious legal actions taken against whoever they decide to go after, and yeah, it’s also very possible this may affect game development plans, or future projects pretty drastically

The worst part of these leaks for me is definitely the massive amounts of misinformation they’re bound to spread. These leaks are entirely lacking in any context, further complicated (In the non Japanese fandom) by cultural differences and language barriers leading to major misunderstandings and flawed interpretations, many of which are being spread as “canon” information by large portions of the fandom. People are wrongly coming to conclusions that aren’t canon, from sources that were never intended to be seen in the first place, the content of which they have no way of correctly interpreting. It’s a shit show, honestly.

I also just feel weird looking at it. I briefly saw some unreleased concept art for PLA today, and while you’d think I’d be delighted, I just felt sick. I can’t really explain why I have had such a negative physical and emotional response to seeing (or even thinking about) any more PLA leaks coming to light, but I do. I’m terrified about a leak (regardless of whether or not it’s canon) absolutely destroying the game, or its characters for me. I literally don’t know what I’d do with myself. As sad as it is, that game is everything to me. It’s very literally 90% of what I think about and create. I want it to stay perfect forever, and I’m scared a leak could potentially take that from me

I am a huge fan of both Mr Mime and Vaporeon, so I know what’s it’s like to have one of your favourites picked as the punchline of an unfortunate fandom joke, and then to have that joke subsequently ran into the ground. I love the cyndaquil line too, and had just chosen one as my starter in my latest PLA play through, just before the leaks dropped. Heathers Pokemon Teams

This is moreso for me than for anyone else, I'm combining my two biggest hyperfixations into one big jumbled mess

In addition to providing the teams I will provide reasons as to why I chose these members

Some explanations are from canon, some are from my own headcannons, just whatever I could use to fill out the team

Blazkien: I wanted her to have a fire starter, and I felt that Blaziken was the closest to Chandler in terms of vibes

Also I really like Blazkien sooooo

Jolteon: I wanted the Heathers to use the original three eeveelutions, and she gets Jolteon bc I wanted something to reflect her and Mac's longstanding friendship, so she gets the yellow one to represent Mac and Mac gets Flareon, a redish one to represent Chandler

Nidoqueen: Its associated with royalty, literally having Queen in the name, and was chosen to reflect Chandler's status at the top of the hierarchy

Kindgra: Same reasoning as Nidoqueen, but this time with King

Tsraeena: Same reasoning as the other 2, but this time with Tsar. Plus, Tsareena is a strong looking feminine pokemon that is well known for its kicks (Kickin' nerds in the nose)

Annihilape: Chandler is a very aggressive person and can push people to their limits, as seen during the party with Veronica, like how Annihilape has to push itself so hard with rage that it literally dies

Sceptile: Other Grass starters have more Duke vibes, Serperior and Meowscarada coming to mind, but Sceptile is a counterpart of Blazkien, the starter that is weak to it out of the trio, like how Chandler is the one that holds the power in the Heathers and they have to listen to her, lest they be beaten down

Vaporeon: As I stated above the Heathers each have one of the original eeveelutions, with Duke having Vaporeon, because that was the one that got left over

Honchkrow: Vibes. Thats the only reason, it just looks like a Pokemon Duke would use

Scizor: Its a green pokemon that evolves into a red one, like how when Chandler dies she takes the red scrunchie, evolving as a person.

And what is its only weakness, a 4x one at that? Fire, the type of Chandler's starter

Pyroar: Vibes again, but there's also the fact that Pyroar is also a regal Pokemon, representative of how Duke so badly wants what Chandler has, the top spot. Plus, Pyroar has the ability Rivalry, adding on to that metaphor.

Gallade: Martha has a Gardevoir, and the dichotomy between the two Pokemon that started out the same but grew apart as they evolved represents how Duke and Martha grew apart as they grew older.

Ampharos: The theme for Mac's team is Pokemon that are friendly and that she can hug, bc I headcannon that she loves animals and wants to hug them all, and Ampharos is the most huggable of the three stage electric types (electric bc yellow, three stage to go along with the other's starters)

Flareon: Explained above, but Flareon is also the most cuddly looking of the original eeveelutions, I imagine hugging it would be like hugging a giant heating pad

Bewear: Like Mac, Bewear looks friendly and fluffy looking, but is actually insanely strong and one punch could knock you out

Lapras: These last three are just kinda vibes, Lapras just looks really friendly

Gengar: Many people see Gengar as this scary, malicious Pokemon, but Mac would see that Gengar have no bad intentions and just want to pull harmless pranks on people. Plus its sprite looks like its opening its arms for a big hug

Alolan Ninetales: Alolan Vulpix looked so fluffy that I said that there is no way Mac wouldn't want one

Blastoise: Out of all the water starters Blastoise fit Veronica's vibe the best. Veronica gets a water starter not only because its blue and that's her color, but Water beats Fire, Chandler's typing, just like how she was the one to end Chandler's reign

Espeon: Veronica gets a eeveelution just like the rest of the Heathers, but she gets Espeon, which wasn't one of the original three, showing how although she's in the group, she's still not fully in the group. Espeon was chosen out of the remaining ones based entirely on vibes

Corviknight: Vibes.

Chandelure: Also Vibes, but there's a little more to it, I headcannon that Veronica loves History and Chandelure is this old haunted Chandelier and I can see her wanting to learn about where it used to live and stuff like that

Hisuian Liligant: Also tying into the history thing, Hiusian Variants are from the past and Veronica would totally be intrigued by that. Also Vibes (are you sensing a pattern yet?)

Aurorus: I wanted her and JD to have a pair of Pokemon to represent their love (bleh, PolyHeathers+Veronica forever), and I pretty much arbitrarily chose the Kalos Fossils bc I liked the dynamic they have, Aurorus being Beautiful while Tyrantrum is destructive

Hydreigon: JD has a temper that he struggles to keep in, and Hydreigon is known for going on destructive rampages when it is angered, similar to how a certain someone decides that blowing up a school is the best reaction to getting broken up with

Lucario: Lucario is a solemn, lonely Pokemon, kinda like how JD explains that he's been alone due to how often he has to move, but also very mysterious, also like JD, which was the thing that intruged Veronica about him

Crobat: Vibes, plus Crobat is used by a lot of evil team members in the games so I guess it kinda fits with JD considering that he's the villian

Vanilluxe: Slushies

Basculegion: A psuedo-counterpart to Veronica's Hisuian Lilligant, but it also represents how his mother's death weighs upon him so, because Basculegion is surrounded by the souls of its dead Basculin bretheren

Tyrantrum: Counterpart to Veronica's Aurorus, a very destructive Poekmon like his Hydreigon

Gardevoir: As stated previously, it is a counterpart to Duke's Gallade. It's mega also looks like a woman in a wedding dress, symbolizing how she dreams of getting married to Ram

Sylveon: Vibes, I wanted her to have all Fairy types and this was the one that fit the most, despite the fact that it kinda throws off the whole eeveelution metaphor I was going for

Mimiyku: Mimiyku is a very lonely pokemon that tries so hard to fit in, and I feel like Martha would sympathize and pity it, and they would be each other's friend. She knows what its like to be rejected and unwanted, so why not be rejected and unwanted together?

Galarian Rapidash: Unicorn Sweater

Azumarill: It and Togekiss are both big, bulky fairy types, but instead of this being a "Martha is fat and they are fat", it shows how Martha is using her strengths to her advantage. Sure she might be a bigger girl, but she's owning it and not letting it hold her back

Togekiss: Building off of that, Azumarill and Togekiss both start out as weak baby pokemon, and while most people would cast them aside, not wanting to put in the effort to train them or seeing them as too weak to bother with, Martha would see their potential and raise them right.

No, really. I can give countless examples. I don't understand how people know a pokemon is an entire species, but still act like they're all the same based on the dex entries or even how they're portrayed in the anime, like jigglypuff and ditto.

For example, it's become a gag in both official Pokémon and the community that ditto mimics everything perfectly except the face. It's kinda funny, yeah, but not all ditto are like that.

Another example is vaporeon... dear god, shut the fuck up. How I've always thought of it is that Hypno steal people, temporarily or not, and keep them in their caves as food source. How exactly offensive would it be to Vogunti society to learn that women (who are friends with each other) in "the giant lands" often ironically/humourosly refer to each other with "bitch" or "slut"? I have read the Rescue and am familiar with Henry reacting negatively to Lauren's talons and how she and Melanie talk to each other. I'm curious if the utilisation of slurs/discriminatory insults by the targeted groups in question is a familiar concept for Vogunti society?

1 - I think Eevee would be a good mascot for the idiot brigade because they're meant to be pretty adaptable, but out of the eeveelutions themselves? It would probably be a tossup between Leafeon and Vaporeon, where they're a coast guard kind of unit and are meant to be versatile on land and water for policing, rescues, and defense purposes. Leafeon would also be good for the weed tie-in, I'll be real.

2 - If they knew about 4/20, Miller and a few of the Idiot Brigade boys would absolutely try to find a way to celebrate it that wouldn't get them punished, because while it's not something you'd be completely discharged for it is sort of frowned on, mostly on duty. Off duty it's the same as alcohol and similar vices: don't do enough to have it reflect poorly on the Watch, don't do enough to have it effect your job, etc. and you're good to go. Just don't let the brass see you.

3 - I did not know about Purple Burglar Alarm until just now and I am living for it hahahaha. Lionus would absolutely struggle with it, I don't know if he would even attempt it more than once before just putting his hands up at it and refusing to try further. Even though his accent isn't too strong, like some of the videos I just watched, the way he'd have to try and change how he speaks in order to get that phrase out would make him a bit uncomfortable at the thought of how he'd sound to others.

4 - The nobility would either make an assumption that actors are extremely well educated or, more likely: simply believe that other places are far more comedically incompetent in comparison to their own amazing regency and governance.

5 - In public and in less-than-familiar company it would be seen as extremely rude and offensive, to the point of being grounds to greatly lessen respect and social standing of those involved in it. In private, more intimate company, it's not completely uncommon for close friends to jab at each other playfully, but to the point of casually referring to even a very close friend in private as an insult on the level of bitch, whore, slut, or so on would be pretty aggressive in almost all cases and not looked on with much humour. There's a level to which they'll joke with each other, but that specifically crosses a very firm line.

The Chains Pokémon partner parings explained.

Hi this is that post where I try to explain my reasoning for pairing each Link with their Pokémon partner + a little fun fact about each Pokémon.

Sky with Dragonite

Sky and Dragonite have quite a few things in common. Their both big, loveable, caring beings who are always ready and willing to help those in need, their both also A LOT stronger than they initially seem. Sky being a literal demon god slayer, and Dragonite being a Pseudo Legendary Pokémon that can control the weather at will.

I imagine that Sky met his Dragonite before his adventure when it was still a little Dratini, they love to take naps together, and go on long flights around Skyloft.

Fun Fact: Pseudo Legendary Pokémon get their title from the fact they have a base stat total of 600, which is the same as most Legendary Pokémon, and are extremely difficult to evolve, Dratini taking 55 levels, or 207,968 experience points earned to evolve into its final form, Dragonite.

Four and his Eeveelutions

To be honest there really wasn’t any other Pokémon besides the Eevee line that had enough evolutions or unique forms/variants to give Four. But even then it’s still a good pick, Eevee can evolve into one of 8 different Pokémon. Jolteon, Vaporeon, Flareon, and Espeon being the most obvious picks for Four/The Colours, Jolteon being the next best thing for Green since there’s no Flying type Eeveelution, and Espeon for Vio due to his book smarts and relation to Shadow, with Vaporeon and Flareon being perfectly fitting for Blue and Red respectively.

I picture Four meeting his Pokémon between his adventures in Minish Cap and Four Swords Adventures, as Eevee, and then taking them with him through the latter adventure. And while Green, Blue, and Red found the evolution stones to evolve their Eevee at some point or another throughout the adventure, Vio and Shadow’s Eevee evolved during their time together when Vio was pretending to be a traitor (Eevee evolves into Espeon and Umbreon through high Friendship during the Day and Night respectively). And that while the Colours were struggling to work together during FSA, their Pokémon were working with each other just fine. After Shadow sacrificed himself, Four cared for his Umbreon.

Fun Fact: Shadow’s Umbreon likely knows Shadow isn’t really gone, but has no solid way of communicating this to Four.

Time with Celebi

Pretty simple really. Time is a time travelling fairy boy from the forest who’s possessed by a deity, Celebi is a time travelling forest guardian fairy who IS a deity.

I believe that Time would meet his Celebi some time after Majora’s Mask, but before the War of Ages.

Fun Fact: Time’s Celebi is nicknamed Navi.

Double Fun Fact: Time’s Celebi Navi may or may not actually be several different Celebi (Cuz there’s actually like a bajilion of these lil onions babies all zipping throughout time and space) and Time has yet to figure this out.

Note: Still a’nt actually settled on whether Navi IS multiple different Celebi or just one single Celebi. Tell me which one you guys think it is in the comments. I genuinely love to hear your thoughts and feedback.

Legend and Lopunny

With the fact that Lopunny is a rabbit Pokémon with a pink shiny, the connection seems pretty surface level, and that I paired the two just cuz I genuinely like Lopunny (Which I admittedly do) but when you look a little deeper into Lopunny’s character, they actually do have more in common with Legend other then aesthetics.

For one, Lopunny evolves via Friendship (Like Espeon and Umbreon) HOWEVER Buneary, Lopunny’s pre evolution, is actually hard to befriend at first, as Wild Buneary always start out with a friendship level of 0, (something usually reserved for Legendary Pokémon) Legend too is a bit rough around the edges and a little hard to get to open up at first, but a loyal companion and friend once he lets people in. As well Lopunny, while not one to go out of it’s way to pick fights, IS a strong and capable fighter, who could hold its own alongside Legend in combat, and much like how Legend has a wide variety of tools in his arsenal, Lopunny is able to learn a wide variety of Moves. Plus both Legend and Lopunny could totally put on one heck of a show if they wanted to.

I would think Legend meets his Lopunny as a Buneary after all his adventures where set and done (But before LU of course) and while they didn’t get along all too well at first, they actually warmed up to each other rather quickly and have become the best of pals since.

Fun Fact: Due to how Pokémon breeding and Egg Groups work, Legend’s Lopunny is able to be siblings with Fable’s partner Pokémon, a Delcatty.

Twilight with Herdier

I wanted to pare Twilight with a Pokémon that would not only work well with his profession as a Rancher, but also not overshadow or replace Epona’s relationship with Twilight, nor the Chains relationship with Wolfie. So I went with Herdier, A loyal and sturdy hard working dog Pokémon that just like real dogs has been working with humans both on and off the farm since ancient times.

Just like Legend and his Pokémon, Twilight meet his Herdier back when it was still just a little Lillipup some time after Twilight Princess, and they do everything together! Work, play, fight, and just overall in joying the simple things in life, Herdier loves to play with the village children, and is happy with its life with Twilight overall.

Fun Fact: Twilight’s Herdier is actually already passed the level when it should have evolved, but hasn’t due to it holding an Everstone, a item that, when held, prevents a Pokémon from evolving even when the conditions for evolution have been met. Herdier has the Everstone because it’s happy as a it is right now, and is in no real rush to evolve, and Twilight respects his Pokémon’s wishes to say a Herdier.

Wind and Clauncher

Again a pretty simple reasoning behind this pairing. Wind loves the Great Sea, the colour blue, and lobsters. Clauncher is a Water type Pokémon that lives in the sea, that is blue, and is a lobster.

Again just like Legend and Twilight, Wind meets his Clauncher after his adventures in Phantom Hourglass, but before LU. Wind loves his Clauncher, and Clauncher does love Wind back, tho that doesn’t mean they don’t get in fights, as Wind and his Clauncher are both hotheads. (Wind taking weeks to get Clauncher to stop attacking Arill’s Wingull, or any Wingull in general for that matter, and being VARY upset with Clauncher during that time. And Clauncher being upset when Wind thinks that he isn’t good enough as a hero or a big brother, despite it being completely untrue, casting Clauncher to become moody with Wind) But they can still both be sincere when it really counts. And will comfort the other when the other is feeling down.

Fun Fact: Wind’s actually had his Clauncher for the same amount of time that Legend and Twilight have had their Pokémon for, but Clauncher has yet to evolve due to Wind lacking the Time to properly train it.

Hyrule with Ribombee

I paired Hyrule with Ribombee due to their similarities. Hyrule is half Fairy, and Ribombee is a duel Fairy type Pokémon. Hyrule is a capable Magic user, and Ribombee is a strong Special Attacker. Hyrule has the ability heal his allies, as so too does Ribombee. Not to mention their both small and cute.

I imagine that Hyrule actually meet his Ribombee as a Cutiefly during his first adventure in Zelda 1, and that while Hyrule was apprehensive about bringing a tiny little Bug Pokémon like Cutiefly on a dangerous quest, Cutiefly did a surprisingly good job holding it’s own against the monsters in the dungeons. And after that, the two have been best buddies ever since.

Fun Fact: Hyrule’s Ribombee has the Ability Honey Gather. Meaning after a battle, Ribombee has a chance of just finding some random honey. Ribombee happily shares this questionable sourced with Hyrule afterwards.

Warriors and Aegislash

Picking out a Pokémon partner for Warriors was the trickiest, I initially thought about giving him a Kingambit, but felt that it didn’t really suit him, as while Warriors does lead an army and is a tactician, I felt that Kingambit’s style of fighting didn’t really suit Warriors. Aegislash however are known to work with people and leaders such as kings, and are known to be good judges of character, which I feel was more fitting. Also I thought it’d be cool to have Warriors use his Aegislash like a sword. (The Pokédex says you shouldn’t do this, but it’s been established that the Pokédex is being written by edgy 12 year olds, and a character did it in one of the mangas, so it should be fine)

Warriors met his Aegislash during the War of Eras, not sure if was already an Aegislash or not tho. Despite the communication barrier between them, the two often do battle planning together, and fight really well together. Aegislash and Warriors a’nt afraid to tell the other off if they were bing stupid, or pushing themselves too far, but also are happy to compliment each other if the other for doing well.

Fun Fact: Warriors Aegislash has a Sassy Nature, meaning it loves bitter foods and hates sweets. Don’t ask me how a sentient ghost sword can eat, it just does.

Wild and his Hisuian Zoroark

And finally we come to Wild and his Zoroark. When I was looking through the Pokédex to see what Mons would fit well with Wild and saw Zoroark, I knew that it would make the perfect partner Pokémon for Wild. A loyal, wild fox Pokémon and master of trickery that will protect its pack no matter what.

Much like the others in the Chain, Wild did not meet his partner as a fully evolved Pokémon, but as a Zorua. But he didn’t meet it as a Hisuian Zorua. They meet each other when they were kids, before Wild had the weight of the world on his shoulders, and back when Zoroark was still a regular Zorua, they became close friends, and where together through thick and thin. Zorua was there when Wild became a knight, Zorua was there Wild when he became Flora’s appointed knight, Zorua was there during the memories, Zorua stood by Wild’s side when Calamity Ganon attacked, Zorua died by Wild’s side during the Battle of Fort Hateno.

And while Link was placed into the Shrine of Resurrection so that he may revive and defeat the Calamity 100 years later, Zorua was not. But Zorua did not need the Shrine of Resurrection. Through the power of they’re hatred for Calamity Ganon, and they’re love for their trainer Wild, Zorua rose from the dead, reborn into the world anew in the form of a Hisuian Zorua. They wanted on the Great Plateau for over a hundred years for Wild to revive, likely evolving during that time. And when Wild finally awoke, it was the happiest day of they’re life. But it was also they’re life, as Wild remembered nothing of his life before the calamity. But even then Zoroark stuck by Wild’s side throughout his adventures in BotW, through thick and thin, and they defeated Calamity Ganon together, along with the Champions, and Zelda. And while the spirits of the Champions and the King passed on afterwards, Zoroark did not, as always Zoroark continued to stand by Wild’s side, through TotK, and Beyond.

The Fun Fact about Wild’s Hisuian Zoroark, is that it uses its power of illusions to help Wild recall his lost memories.

-i genuinely debate wandering off to go explore and do something more interesting like shiny hunt but i dont want to let the kids get straight up killed when im supposed to be watching them because im not sure i believe in the power of their pikachu and eevee to protect them from any actual threats here. Like an alpha

-the only thing keeping me responsible in this world is responsibility. Who could have guessed

-i experience my midday sleepiness and skylark straight up electrocutes me to wake me up anime pikachu style

-we do not battle volo because were about to fight kleavor and we need all the strength we can get for it. Im sad because i want to see togepi but i do not say this because it would be insane for me to just know what pokemon he has without being told

-drifblim does everything in its power to draw the brunt of kleavors fire. It’ll fire off gusts to whip up dirt and do its weird teleportation bullshit so that kleavor cant hit it but will be frustrated enough to keep pursuing

-skylark, shellos and iridas glaceon will lay down support fire for drifblim in case kleavor loses interest or if kleavor knocks it out. If it stays irritated its less likely to notice me and irida

-irida and i will throw balms while the pokemon fight

-shellos says shes not sure she’ll be able to keep up with the fight since she moves so slowly. This is a good point

-she cant sit on skylarks back because shes not a ground type so her firing off electricity will hit shellos.

-drifblim cant take non-ghosts with him when he phases

-glaceon agrees to carry shellos. I am flooded with relief at the fact that i dont have to carry a slug on my head while doing all this shit

-i remember that irida might not know that i can understand pokemon . dont worry about it irida we can talk later

-i also remember the kleavor cheese strat and bring up the idea of ducking behind the tree if kleavor tries to go for us

-irida is unsure if kleavor will remember the importance of the giant tree in his rage, but he hasnt cut it down yet, so its possible he will avoid slicing straight through it to get to us and instead go around

-we will just have to hope so!

-lets pretend drifblim is lvl 25 here since we start with stronger pokemon so it has mystical fire which i think is neutral against kleavor bc of rock subtype

-i think the security corps uniform is probably thick for warmth and extra defense so maybe i just get like a really bad scratch on an arm or shoulder but not enough to be a super big deal

-skylark would know thunderbolt at lvl 25 which is awesome. I forgot that eeveelutions have abysmal move pools except for literally 1 move they can use reliably we’re gonna have to do something about that

-glaceon launches literally 1 ice beam and then realizes it is also so ungodly fucked if it gets hit by a rock move so it focuses on dodging while shellos launches water pulses

-irida and i truly get a lifetime amount of cardio in

I picked up Pokémon Heart Gold again the other day because I forgot about my abandoned playthrough from March and coincidentally, the day I fought Ho-Oh was the same day I went to a Pride parade, and I thought "Wow! What a perfect day to catch the rainbow Pokémon! How thematically appropriate!"

It took me ONE. WHOLE. HOUR to catch that damn bird. Between me constantly reviving and healing my entire team because they kept getting one/two-shotted by Sunny Day boosted Fire Blasts and Sacred Fires (INCLUDING VAPOREON) and Ho-Oh constantly breaking out of Ultra Balls (because I only had Ultra Balls) it ran out of PP and Struggled itself to death FOUR TIMES IN A ROW.

I REALLY should have left and bought more Revives (I only had 4) and Dusk/Timer Balls but I couldn't just leave after the Kimono Girls did that special summoning dance that would be so awkward, and I really didn't want to go back through the Bell Tower again, it was way more confusing to navigate than I remebered.

My strategy by Attempt #3 was to tank the Fire attacks with Vaporeon until they ran out of PP then swap to Espeon to tank Extrasensory then spam Ultra Balls.

That still didn't work so I just gave up and used the Master Ball

On the whole "Shinies are picked manually from gen 6 onwards, early shinies were auto-generated" - its... Debatable. It definitely seems like a lot were - which is why a lot of blue Pokemon become pink, such as Vaporeon and Kingra, while it would make sense for Pokemon like Gengar and Dragonite to get such horrendous shinies.

But there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. The same colours get swapped differently on different Pokemon, and no one person has figured out the formula for how shinies are determined. Then there's the "gen 6 onwards are manually coloured" theory - and that is all it is, a theory. It does seem to be the case, as some shinies are phenomenal and would definitely not get randomly swapped like that (Pallosand is one of the big arguments for that) but then there are others that are... Just not very good shinies, like Talonflame.

There's absolutely zero confirmation from Game Freak as to how shinies are decided, and there definitely a TREND that we can see involving it, but they're all just theories.

Lockstin & Gnoggin has a video called "Is This How Shiny Pokemon Were Made" which covers a LOT of information on shinies and the speculation behind how shinies are made.

i am seeing a LOT of mixed opinions on what is actually the truth here. compelling evidence from both sides, it seems? though two mentions of lockstin & gnoggin by now (though with seemingly two differing opinions about the fate of shinies pre-gen-6?) so i'm going to make a solid bet that we're all just grasping at straws and patterns for how we Think shinies are determined. is that fair enough to say? i always thought they were all deliberate and the ugly ones were just a matter of taste, with the ones that barely change being a matter of someone being lazy or something. but also i guess the "ugly" ones can be a matter of taste even in recent gens—i don't think indeedee's is that bad, and tandemaus… well, they could've done to change the actual body instead of the li'l pants they're wearing. togedemaru is definitely underwhelming. it would make sense that there's some sort of algorithmic approach to choosing shinies, especially considering how we have seen some shinies change in color over the years (see: the shiny ralts line, for example, in which they appeared purple back in the 3d gen 3 spinoffs, pokémon colosseum and gale of darkness), but then doesn't entirely track once we get to pokémon like sneasel, whose original appearance was completely different, but even after its body colors were changed in pokémon crystal and onward, it still retained the same shiny. and yet sylveon is still the only good shiny out of all the eeveelutions (sorry bleep blorp espeon and pink vaporeon), which was the eeveelution released in gen 6 (umbreon is still good, i guess, but doesn't change a ton), where we're all supposing they started "manually picking." i think all this was sparked from an ask about helioptile's shiny, which seemed to be a reference to something—i'm sure there's plenty of other shinies that fit that bill, but with over a thousand pokémon out there to come up with shinies for, are we ever gonna be able to prove that it's not just a coincidence? like i thought the nacli line was a very obvious minecraft reference but i don't think anyone agrees with me on that one. then again, they did go out of their way to name a pokémon fucking "lechonk" which i'm still not over being one of the most annoying names they've ever created. so sorry lechonk fans but i swear toby fox had a hand in naming that one

YES Vio would 100% have a dartrix in the Pokemon universe. I could see each of the colors and Shadow as having eeveelutions, too. Probably an espeon for Vio, umbreon for Shadow, vaporeon for Blue, and the other two … idk. I could see Green with either a leafeon (bc green, and the connection between green/courage/nature in LoZ) or a jolteon (fast and brave, plus you get a bit of that air/storm motif imo). Flareon *seems* like a no brainer for Red, but I keep picturing him holding hands/ribbons with a sylveon. But flareons are known for their cuddles, too, right? Yeah. I’m gonna say flareon for Red. But he should get a cute and vicious fairy type on his team, too, I think.

Anyway. Saw your post about LoZ/4 Swords combined with Pokemon and my brain decided to have fun with it.🤣 Do you know if you’re going to play Legends ZA? If so, do you already have your starter picked? I’m going back and forth, I’m not a huge fan of any of them.😅 Tepig’s great, but I can’t stand its evolutions. I normally go for water or fire starters (unless there is a rowlet), but totodile’s my least favorite water starter. So I’m kind of leaning chickorita? I’d love a cute lil flower dino, but its stats aren’t great. Maybe I need to learn more about them all🤷‍♀️

Tbh, yeah, all of them can go with an eeveelution, no doubt. Shadow - Umbreon, Vio - Espeon, Blue - Vaporeon, and then Red could go with both Flareon and Sylveon and same for Green with Jolteon and Leafeon. Tbh i saw people give Blue a Glaceon but tbh cuz of one of my headcanons i don't think that Blue would like an ice type, and the way Glaceon looks it kinda makes me think Vio would have one, idk. For Red as much as he's fire and all that, I think Sylveon goes better bcuz yeah Sylveons are known for their friendship and those ribbons, and I don't doubt that Red wouldn't be able to evolve his Eevee into a Sylveon XD. I think that a Sylveon goes better but no doubt that he'd be a fire type centric trainer. I see where you're going with Green and the idea of Jolteon alongside Leafeon. Tbh, bcuz Jolteons are like brave and fierce, now I think that Blue would have one to cover his electric weakness of his water types. Like if Blue has a Vaporeon, then like he might have an electric type like Jolteon to cover his weakness and have smth for other types water is weak or ineffective against (flying maybe idk). But yeah Green could go with both but id say hes more likely to get himself a Leafeon cuz of whole green/courage/Farore LoZ cycle.

Since Legends ZA is gonna be on both Switch and Switch 2 i REALLY HOPE ill buy it! After seeing how great Legends Arceus is im now really hyped to try Legends ZA too! I doubt ill buy a Switch 2 but am really happy ZA is gonna be on the Switch as well! Im avoiding seeing any spoilers lol but yeah i heard the starters options. And here's my most possible choice: Chikorita. Look, my old died, i want to have a Chikorita again 😭 It's so hated and underrated but it's my favorite Johto starter and I miss it sm 😭 Also I most often choose Grass starters no matter how bad they are. Not everytime do I take a Grass type but most oftenly XD. Chikorita is so hated and i miss my old one sm so idc if having it as a starter is gonna make the game so much harder for me, i want to have a Chikorita again 😭💚
