Broo learning a more obscure language is so hard because there is both so little and so much to work off of. Like I’m trying to figure out where to start with Tibetan, I can barely find any resources due to so much Chinese imperialism within Tibet making Tibetan as a language rare as hell, and each time I think I start to figure out the bare bone basics, I find something that opens more questions than answers. Like what the fuck is a post-postscript? Or a postscript for that matter? And are they different from the standard Tibetan alphabet? WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT ALPHABETS?! WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS, ENGLISH?!

i’m predicting a misty death before the end of the show and i’m so sure it’s going to be the other girls that do it so here’s why 😽

one of the main yj themes is the presence of trauma (obviously), specifically the way you can never outrun the person you once were. this shows up a bunch of times (eg. shauna’s marrying jeff, nat’s conversation with her younger self in the death scene, lottie’s visions) but one of the main ways it shows up aside from the wilderness aftershock is in misty.

misty’s behaviour isn’t best explained by her time in the wilderness. she struggled obviously, but whats so eerie about her character is that most of her behaviour is based on the bullying and outcasting she experienced before the crash and still does throughout her life, rather than the crazy stuff they did.

caligula’s name also hints towards this - (simplified) caligula was often considered so evil he must’ve been insane, and was murdered by his closest advisors as a result of this. i don’t think misty is evil, but i think misty thinks she is evil and would therefore align herself with him in some ways. i don’t think there’s any way at all that this name choice wasn’t intentional from the beginning.

then there’s the idea of payback, and that you must repent for your sins. from a supernatural-esque lens, shauna’s baby’s death could be the wilderness making her pay for jackie’s. this theory doesn’t entirely tie in with my own interpretation but it does apply here too if it’s intentional. we see misty take lives again and again throught the show - there’s the obvious (nat, crystal), the slightly more inadvertent (jackie, javi, pit girl, travis, presumably ben, and any others that die in or because of them being trapped in the wilderness, including the animals they kill) and the rat that she lets drown in the pilot.

there’s also the idea throughout the show, again with nat’s death and misty’s causing of it, jackie’s death, van’s probable death in the near future, that the characters’ fate is assigned to them from the beginning.

this is why i think misty will die at the hands of the other yellowjackets - her entire character is based around the pain that the bullying and outcasting of her peers caused her. i don’t think it would make sense for her to survive, because her quick wit and knowledge (as much as it manifests in crazy ways) is what ties all of the girls to their younger selves and keeps them together.

maybe i’m wrong, but i can’t see a complete ending to the adult timeline and the show as a whole with misty still around.

I really want to tell my best friend about me being a therian, I think ai’m going to do it today. I’m pretty sure they’re accepting but I’m TERRIFIED. They keep making jokes about me being a dog, so I don’t think they’ll be that surprised, but I don’t want this to change anything.

Edit/Update: APPARENTLY THEY ALREADY KNEW?? I mean I’m not super subtle in terms of my very nonhuman actions but they knew! Which means they have been “joking” about me being a dog for months ON PURPOSE!! Oh my stars. Honestly I’m super happy about it, but I want to tackle them.
