sometimes I think about Oz and Gil and go a little bit crazy.
I don't really like. ship them, but also, Gilbert is so obviously in love with Oz. and just thinking about like, desperately trying to bring him back from Abyss, knowing that it fucks with time and with every year that passes, knowing there's a chance he's outgrowing the person he's searching for.
for 10 years. every year, wondering more and more if it's even worth it, but also becoming that much more desperate.
and then Oz comes out of Abyss and, god, he looks exactly the same. and isn't that so fucking bittersweet? because on one hand, he looks exactly the way Gil remembers. and on the other hand, he suddenly looks like a child to Gil.
and this* is why I say I don't really ship them, because I don't believe there's any way in hell that Gil would be able to consider pursuing him sexually at that point, he'd get sick to his stomach at the hint of a thought of it.
but the romantic feelings are more painful to quell. because he does still love Oz, but he has to force himself to accept that it has to be a more familial kind of love. which gets easier as time passes, but there's always that little heartache that wonders what could have happened if they were still the same age.
god it drives me crazyyyyyyy

PRELIMINARY ROUND - SUPERNATURAL
Tumblr media Tumblr media
PROPAGANDA
Charlie Bradbury
1.) Charlie was a surprisingly good character considering she was a lesbian in a famously misogynistic & homophobic show (any woman from Supernatural could be a strong contender in this tournament). She was basically Dean's bestie, made out with a fairy, had an adventure with a grown-up Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, and saved the guys' asses in every episode she appeared in. Even when she appeared as a corpse. Yeah, she got randomly killed off-screen for shock value and manpain, but she sent an email right before she died so at least her death wasn't in vain, right? According to the wiki she later got replaced by an alternate reality version of herself but this was after I stopped watching Supernatural so idk how they treated her after that lmao
2.) She was a lesbian and a very beloved character and they murdered her brutally for no reason! Well, one reason, shock value. Boooooo!!!
3.) Literally she was such a strong supporting character and they just. Fucking killed her off for no goddamned reason. Like fuck you
Eileen Leahy
1.) She was a badass deaf hunter who all of the fans loved and they killed her off (also she's Irish and the people who killed her are British but that's a whole other issue). Then they brought her back and Eileen finally got to have her cute romance with Sam which all of the fans also loved and then she died when the rest of the world got killed by God (long story). But then everyone got brought back to life (including her) but she NEVER SHOWED UP AGAIN. And Sam got married and had a kid but NOT WITH HER. And they never mentioned her again. JUSTICE FOR MY QUEEN EILEEN LEAHY SHE DESERVED BETTER.
2.) She was the love interest to Sam in the last season and in the last few episodes she was removed off the planet along with alot of other people. When that problem was fixed she is litteraly never brought up again. In the last episode Sam gets a wife but we never see her, she could be Eileen but we have no idea. They basically kill her off in mass event and then when they bring everyone back they somehow never mention her again. How is there not a reunion between her and Sam and the others? She was their friend! At least Cas gets a mention! She doesn't get one at all!

Sister: I hate his tattoo so much. Me: Yeah, and that’s a real one, too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sister: Why would your guy not be happy about scores being settled? Me: ‘Cause he just wants to bother Miguel, that’s why. Sister: Why doesn’t he go fight the white guys? Me: ‘Cause he just wants to bother Miguel. Sister: It doesn’t make sense… Me: He just wants to bother Miguel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sister: No, not that! It’s going to be too dangerous— Miguel: Kill Guerra. Sister: SEE, I told you! …Who’s Guerra? Is that your guy Me: 😑 He’s not my guy… Sister: What, he belongs to the streets? Me: 😑
Tumblr media
Sister: I think he’s going to buy the lottery ticket and win and then he’s going to keep it for himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Me: He’s doing that Asian bullshitting thing right now, don’t you think? Sister: Totally… Pretending he reflected, LOL… Playing the Buddhist angle...
Tumblr media
Sister: “Li Chen”? How lazy can you be? (It's a pretty generic name)
Tumblr media
Sister: Jia Kenmin… why’s his name like that? Me: Yeah, it’s kind of old-fashioned. It’s like Daddy’s generation of names… Sister: No, I mean, they say it the Chinese way… Me: Oh, I know! I was literally wondering about that the other day!
Tumblr media
Sister: His hair looks so bad. Me: Yeah, the length really accentuates his hairline in a bad way. Sister: It’s medieval squire length…. Me: It’s not doing him any favors… It looks good short, though. Sister: It’s not short, though, is it?
Tumblr media
Sister: Not the butt pop… His booty muscles… Me: His butt’s definitely up there in the rankings…
Tumblr media
Me: I wonder what determines whether they use the sinks here or their cells. Sister: Yeah, I’d just use the one in my cell. Especially because that guy (Augustus/Narrator) said that you could get shanked in the shower if you turn your back.
Tumblr media
Me: I wonder if they only did this singing plot line for him because the actor was in The Five Heartbeats… Sister: What’s that? Me: It’s a mini-series about like this fictional motown group… The guy who played Jefferson Keane is also in it. Sister: Oh, then they definitely did it because of that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sister: Why would they put him here to guard a civilian? What’s he gonna do if a prisoner gets agitated? Hobble over? He should be on desk duty. Me: He didn’t want to be on desk duty. Sister: So? They need to put him on it anyway. And if he quits because he hates sitting at a desk too much, then their problems are solved anyway. They don’t have to worry about a liability and they don’t got to pay anything, either, ‘cause he quit himself…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sister: She gets way too involved with her patients, man…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sister: He’s risen and he’s hiding in the laundry room.
Stray Thoughts
The apparent gang tattoo on Jia Kenmin’s hand just says “blood” btw
Sister: The have the guy in the wheelchair talking about his wife again and still nothing from the Muslim guy whose wife was also on the bus…

"LET ME OUT! I'm gonna kill you two!!" you yell from inside the dungeon.
Sam and Dean are in the library above and even through concrete floors and thick walls, they can still hear you. Not loudly but if it's silent, your words are pretty clear. You've been locked in the dungeon for the past month while they figure out what to do with you. They hear you bang on the walls, slam your body against the door, and yell at the top of your lungs, and Dean figures you'll tire yourself out sooner or later.
"What's going to happen if she manages to get out?" Sam asks.
"She won't."
"If she does?"
"She won't, Sam," Dean sighs.
"Humor me."
"I don't know, okay? I don't know what to do about my soulless wife. I don't know how I'm going to be able to heal her if she continues down this road. I don't know what's going to happen if the Mark wins. Sooner or later, she's gonna..." Dean doesn't even want to finish that sentence. "I don't know, Sam."
"Yeah," Sam whispers.
"This Mark is making her go insane piece by piece and I'm honestly afraid that I'll be too late. That I won't be able to purify her soul in time. That'll be my fault she's dead."
"Come on, you don't really think that, do you?" Dean sends a look to his brother who decides a change of pace is needed. "I liked the omelets you made this morning, and you slept past seven for once."
Dean appreciates what his brother is doing for him and he'll take the distraction even if it'll only work for a few hours.
"Thanks. Until we get answers on this Mark of Cain, I am on a twelve-step program not to backslide."
"Twelve?"
"Yeah. If Cain found a way to live with it after going dark side, then I just gotta find a way to keep it in check. I haven't had a drink in a week, eight hours of sleep every night, and now I'm making omelets."
"That's three steps."
"Shut up," Dean rolls his eyes and grabs his empty plate. "As soon as we get rid of this demonic tramp stamp, I am back on the booze, burgers, and more booze. Tell me you got something."
"I'm working on it," Sam sighs and goes back to researching.
Dean takes his brother's plate and walks it back to the kitchen with his own. Once he's alone, he touches the Mark worriedly. What's going to happen if he can't get to you in time? Will he have it in him to drive a knife through your heart? Would he be able to survive only seeing you in his dreams?
As the hours drag on, Dean and Sam notice it's been quiet in the dungeon. You either tired yourself out or you're planning an escape. Either way, you've shut up.
Dean joins his brother back in the library who has not moved from his spot. Instead of researching the Mark, he's watching something on his laptop that has him concerned.
"What the hell?" Sam mutters and leans in closer to the screen.
"Cain or Crowley?"
"Charlie."
"She's back from Oz? She didn't call?"
"I guess she's been busy. I've been looking into the news and checking for anything weird, right? I found this story about a torture vic. Apparently, some kid videotaped this at his next-door neighbor's house."
Dean watches the video but he's unsure what he's looking at. Though, he can clearly see it's Charlie.
"What are you saying, Charlie tortured someone?" Sam shrugs. "Our Charlie? Wouldn't hurt a Hobbit and practically sparkles?" Dean shakes his head and takes out his phone to call her. Though, she's not picking up. "Come on, Charlie. Pick up."
"The guy she went all psycho on is Peter Harper. He's a district attorney in Topeka. According to this article, he wasn't the only person in town that was hit. A court stenographer was assaulted the night before."
"She's not answering the phone," Dean sighs. "Charlie wouldn't go off on someone without a reason."
"Yeah, I wouldn't think so either, but look at the video."
"Oh, I'm looking at it, but you know what we do, taken out of context, it doesn't look that much different. She could be hunting." Sam sighs and Dean cracks his neck a few times. "Why don't we go talk to this asshat and see what's going on?"
"What about Y/N?"
"She's in time out. I'll have Cas pop in every few hours to make sure she hasn't chewed the doors off the hinges."
Sam leaves to get ready but Dean stays in the library a moment longer. He touches his mark when he starts to feel it burn slightly. You take a break from picking at the wall to look up at the ceiling where you know Dean is currently standing. Your mark is burning which can only mean his is, too.
A smirk grows on your face at the thought of it bringing pain to him.
Dean leans over just as his head starts to hurt, and he sits down so he can ride out this memory he never knows is coming.
God, I hate getting these. Not only am I forced to relive these moments a second time, I have to relive them through Y/N's eyes. There have been times when she's gone through it worse than I have. The things this woman has done for me to protect me are... I have no words for how amazing she is.
That's why seeing her like this brings me so much pain... knowing I can't do anything to help her.
I'm tied to a chair and see myself tied to the pillar Magnus tied me to in his invisible mansion. Magnus opens the glass container containing the Blade, and I wish to God I never took the damn mark.
"Should we fire it up?" Magnus smirks at Dean.
"Go to hell."
"Oh, come on, Dean. This is the object of your quest. Tell me Henry Winchester's grandson isn't curious to see if it works. Give me your hand." Dean doesn't do what he wants, and Magnus grows impatient. He grabs his hand forcefully. "Give me your hand!"
"Get off of him!" I yell.
Magnus forces the blade into Dean's hand, and almost immediately, Dean's mark starts to glow red. I've always known my mark connects me to Y/N but I never knew by how much until this very moment. I knew how that mark felt burning on my arm, but I never knew how much it affected my wife.
The longer Dean holds the blade, the more my own mark starts to burn. The veins on his arm glow the same color as the Mark, and I look down to see the same thing happening on Y/N.
"Stop it! You're hurting him!" I cry out in pain.
Magnus yanks the blade away from Dean so he can use it on me. Mangus walks over to me and shoves the blade into my hand. This unlocks a dark side to her magic that I will never be able to understand.
My entire body goes up in blue flames at the same time I let out a loud scream from the mourning sensation on my collarbone. Why is hers on her collarbone and mine on my arm? I've never understood that. For a split second, and it's gone as quickly as it comes, my body feels an evil presence. It's like the devil you read about in books is right behind me. I'm not sure what that is but it's gone before I can even think about it.
"Dude, you okay?"
Dean is pulled from his own head by Sam who has been tapping on his shoulder for the past minute.
"Yeah."
"Are you sure?"
"Drop it, Sammy," Dean sighs and stalks off to his room to get ready.
After both men are ready, they leave you alone in the Bunker and head to Topeka which is only four hours away from the Bunker. If they have to come back because of you, they could do it quickly. The district attorney agreed to speak to Sam and Dean even though he's terrified since Charlie got away.
"Now, did you notice anything odd before the attack? Any strange smells or weird noises?" Sam asks.
"No, no, nothing. I was just at home here, getting ready for bed, and that crazy bitch jumped me. All she wanted to know was about some case that I worked on years ago--a drunk driver T-boned another car, killing the driver, and the passenger was declared brain-dead on the scene."
"The Middletons," Dean says. He did his research before coming over here. "They had a daughter who was twelve years old. They were on their way to pick her up."
"Yeah, that's right. How did you know?" Peter asks.
"We do our homework at the FBI."
"Then you know the case never went to trial. Before I could even see the evidence, it was off the books. All the files were sealed."
"How is that even possible?" Sam wonders.
"I don't know, but I looked into it this morning. There's no record of that case anywhere and the arresting officer has since passed away. There's nothing, except for this," Peter slides a file across the table to Dean, "the social service file on the Middletons' kid. It's not very helpful, to be honest with you. The kid has disappeared, until now."
"Is there anything else you can remember about the case? Any names you can think of?"
"No, like I told the police, it was a long time ago. I'm sorry."
There's something the man is hiding. If he was the lawyer on the Middleton case and didn't get to see the evidence, Dean doesn't think Charlie would go after him.
"Here's the thing," Sam smiles and walks closer to him, "we talked to the other victim on the way here. You know, the stenographer? She said the attacker didn't let her go until she gave up a name--your name."
"What does that have to do with me being attacked in my own home?" Peter stutters.
"What name did you give up?" Dean asks.
"Look, I told you everything I told the police. This woman comes in here, beats the shit out of me, but there's no name to give up, so I don't know what else to--" Dean shoves Peter's chair back so he is only balancing on the back two legs of the chair. "What are you doing?!"
"Talk, you son of a bitch!"
"Look, I'm the victim here!"
Dean makes a move to drop his chair backward but catches it at the last second.
"Talk!!"
"Okay! Okay!" Dean rights his chair and Peter rubs his hands nervously together. "After the files were sealed, I pushed. They offered me money... a lot of money if I'm to be honest."
"Give me a name," Dean glares.
"I will be disbarred!"
"That'll be the least of your worries, I promise you that."
Peter sighs and sags his shoulders in defeat.
"Councilwoman Barbara Cordry."
Barbra isn't as forthcoming as Peter was. She answered her door but she didn't let Sam and Dean inside her house. Whoever she is afraid of got her locked inside of her own house.
"Barbara Cordry?" Sam asks and knocks.
The door opens and the brothers can see suitcases packed by her front door. Not only is she scared, she's running.
"Can I help you?"
"Yes. I'm Special Agent Gabriel. This is my partner, Special Agent Collins. May we come in?" Sam asks.
"What's this about?"
"We have some questions about a drunk-driving case from a while back involving the Middleton family."
"I have no idea what you're talking about," she quickly says.
"Ma'am, if we could just—"
"Sorry. I'm still on vacation," she cuts Dean off. "Feel free to schedule an appointment with my assistant. She'll pencil you both in."
She immediately shuts the door and the brothers look at each other while walking away from her house.
"Guilty much?"
"Yeah."

Why Qrow being Ruby’s father serves no purpose whatsoever other than to ruin the writing, themes, and elements of RWBY.
Qrow: Listen, Ruby... I'm your dad.
Ruby: Wait like... what?
Yang: He means Dad isn't your father, and I guess that means we're cousins instead of sisters?
Ruby: Wait, really?
Qrow: Yeah, kid... look I-
Ruby: What does this really change?
Qrow: What?
Ruby: Yeah, that's what I'm asking. Do I start calling you 'dad' instead of 'uncle Qrow'? Do I start calling Dad "uncle Tai"?
Yang: Whoa now Rubes, let's not jump to any conclusions. Are we really sure Qrow and Raven are siblings?
Qrow: Wait, what?
Ruby: "Oh no, everything about my life is a lie, I am so distraught!" Like is that what you're expecting?
Qrow: No, I'm not --
Ruby: If nothing needs to change, then I don't care. I'm the daughter of Summer Rose. I know THAT for sure because it's what everyone's been telling me all my life and the photographic evidence is right there. Taiyang raised me as his daughter, you raised me as your niece, Yang raised me as her little sister. Even if none of that is *entirely accurate* I don't care. Brothers, if you told me I was adopted and introduced me to my birth parents then I'd say "cool" and try to learn what they're all about, but I'm not going to change how I feel about the people who raised me, who I've known all my life.
Yang: Maybe I came out of Raven Branwen, but Summer Rose is my mom. She did the job when Raven wouldn't. It doesn't matter WHO I came out of, Summer was the one who raised me.
Ruby: So if you're telling me that part of me came from you, when a bunch of me *holds up Crescent Rose, flourishes red cape* ALREADY came from you, the only thing it tells me is that you slept with my mom.
Yang: And Qrow, let's be honest... that's not too surprising. You all slept with each other.
Qrow: Hey I didn't sleep with Raven!!
Ruby: So unless you can tell me how this changes ANYTHING, Uncle Qrow, I am telling you, I. Do not. Care. I still love you and you'd need to do a LOT worse to convince me to stop.
As much as I love qrow and as much as some fans like to shit on tai for having the NERVE to suffer from depression after summers death, Qrow was a whole mess throughout most of this series for anything that wasn't a fight or mission from oz.
He may have taught ruby how to fight but using his own words, because he believed he was "cursed" I highly doubt he spent THAT much time with her growing up.
Having him be her dad takes him from a somewhat irresponsible but loving uncle to a drunk neglectful father who passed his kid off to his best friend after potentially cheating with said best friends wife and then proceeded to spend the next decade and a half mostly drunk and doing everything under the sun EXCEPT raising his daughter for more than a few weeks at a time.
It also gives him very little moral highground to be talking about raven not being there to raise yang.
In short it ruins his character for very little payoff.
Realistically what would ruby stand to gain by learning qrow was her father, other than more unneeded stress? It's not like he has a magical bloodline as well to give her a power boost.
The very notion that Ruby would change if Qrow was her biological dad is completely against the overall themes of RWBY as a show, and about the messages regarding found families. It's such a basic, melodramatic, and frankly old-fashioned notion that someone's blood parent is Of Great Importance that it feels completely out of step with the characters themselves.
In Conclusion: Nothing would change. Qrow didn't raise Ruby, so he isn't her dad. Ruby & Yang were raised as sisters, that doesn't change no matter what. It's the time they spent together that matter. Blood doesn't matter. Qrow is still a part of the family, but he didn't put in the work to be a father, he has no right to be that. And Ruby already loves Qrow, it's not like they're estranged or unfamiliar, if anything would change maybe what Ruby calls him. But even then, again Tai is Ruby's dad, he read her bedtime stories, tucked her in and changed her diapers. Taiyang is Ruby's dad.
So I will say this once again to the anonymous person who spammed that stupid ask in my inbox...Let this godforsaken theory die and be buried for good.

Jake Seresin drives an old 1992 Holden Rodeo when he’s in Aus with Amilia. It barely starts, it rattles like fuck and the gears get stuck more often than not when he shifts from first to second.
There a huntsman the size of his palm that lives in the passenger side sun visor but he knows well enough by now to leave it alone. He’s not hurting anyone. He doesn’t tell you it’s there.
The cab is rusted and the floor needs a good clean from the red clay that’s been stomped into the rubber floor mats but again he’s not fussed.
“Do you even know how to drive this thing!?” It may be the last thing you ever do, agreeing to go on a beer run to the local bottlo. Jake’s grinning ear to ear as he watched you clutch onto the roof handle for dear life as he swings around the roundabout. “Jake—!”
“Relax Fe, she’ll be right.” He can afford a better ute, but he doesn’t want one. It sits in the shed for three month stints when he’s back in San Diego.
“I can see why Amilia gave me that look of horror when I said I’d come with you—you drive like a maniac.” Jake chuckled at that, out of the two of them it’s Amilia who can’t drive to save herself. Jake usually drives when they’re together—he values his life and the life of others on the road.
“Took me a while to get the hang of the right side steering too.” You can’t help but to role your eyes as Jake pulls into the car park of the liquor land. “Alright we need a case of Great Northern, a six pack of Corona for Roo and a bottle of Gin for Oz.”
Jake Seresin is just so different when he’s in Australia than he is when he’s back in the states. It doesn’t matter where he is in the world though so long as his wife is by his side—so long as Amilia is around Jake is home. Home is where his heart is.
“Hey mate, how are ya?” You can hear the slight Aussie twang in his voice as he asked the eighteen year old kid staking shelves how he’s going. He loves Australia, he loves the culture and the laid back nature.
“Good man—this the sister you were talking about the other day?” Jake nods, watching as Sam stands from where he’d been crouched stacking the bottom shelf. “Nice to meet you, you’re brother here’s become a little bit of a local.” You shake the kids hands. “I’m Sam.”
“It’s nice to meet you Sam.” You smile softly. “And so I’ve heard.” You heard it from the older guys at the pub on Friday night. You’d heard it from the sweet old lady at the newsagents and the guy at the bakery who wouldn’t shut up about how Jake was just the best guy around. “I’m glad he’s made a home here for himself.”
“How’d you go in the rust bucket?” Sam asked with an all-knowing smirk smeared across his face as he looked over your shoulder and saw Jakes Rodeo in the car park. “That things held together by hopes and dreams.”
“And a few rolls of duct tape.” Jake adds as he rounds the corner with the slab of Great Northern on his shoulder. “She’s a walk in rego mate, as long as it still starts I’m gonna keep it around.” Sam scoffs in response and Jake tussles his hair. “You’re mother know you’re working late?”
“Sure does—“ Sam lived next door the the Fisher-Seresin household. He was a good kid. He confided in Jake a lot about things in life.
“She change your diper before you left the house too?”
“Yeah and your wife was there to kiss my ass when I didn’t kick up a fuss.” You couldn’t help but to laugh at the interaction, Jake would’ve been a good dad. The thought was forever in the back of your mind. He should have been a dad. Amilia should have been a mum.
“Speaking of my lovely wife, get me a bottle of Gordon’s and we’ll be outta here.”
You and Jake don’t stick around for much longer, he pays and tells Sam if he does end up needed a lift to call. Back in the car you can’t help but to ask.
“How come you and Amilia never ended up going through with that adoption?” Jakes too focused on shifting from first the second without grinding the gears as he drives with his knee and clips his seatbelt in to answer right away. But he answers. “You would’ve been a really good dad.”
“We didn’t get approved—“ It’s a hard topic but it’s the truth. “Fly in fly out work didn’t meet the criteria for stable living conditions.” Jake just kept driving, kept looking straight ahead. “But we’re fine with it, we weren’t meant to be parents Fe.” He shakes his head to will the idea from his mind. “Besides, we’ve got two beautiful nieces and two feral nephews that we’d die for.”
You leave it at that and decide that the suns far too bright for your liking. Jake can’t get the words out fast enough to stop you reaching up and out for the sun visor.
“Y/n Don’t—“ You feel your soul leave your body at the sight of it. It’s the biggest spider you’ve ever seen.
“Pull over before I jump out—“

Mick watched his wife chat with his daughter and couldn't help but watch her body change every few minuets, two minutes apart were the Contractions but untill she was in full labor she would refused to belive she was. After a few minuets he noticed she had disappeared and excused himself and went to find her.
Meanwhile Amelia had came into the kitchen holding on to the fridge as she breath deeply trying to stay calm, through out the whole day she was experiencing contractions which made her tense up before she felt a hand on her back, "Baby you ok mick said rubbing her back as his wife moaned before leting go of the tight grip she held on the fridge. "No I lied to you baby, "the whole day i'v be having Contractions and I thought they were only braxton hicks but now they won't go away she said crying into his chest.
"Just breath baby and we will get you to the hospital just let me go tell les so he can watch the girls mick said as he headed out the door before a yell stoped him, "no please Don't leave me mick please Kaitlyn said crying as another contraction ripped through her making her tense up and causing mick to walk back over and rub her back. "Breath baby just breath he said rubbing her back and waited for the contraction to pass.
Downstairs nikki noticed mick had be gone a while and headed upstairs to see what was wrong and found both of them in the bedroom Kaitlyn rocking back and fourth. "Oooo hurry nikki please Kaitlyn Saud yelling as another contraction hit her, "I'm working on Kaite I promise nikki said looking back at mick who had a scared look on his face. Nikki could see the hospital in the distance and told them before he heard Kaitlyn scream which was something he never heard before. "I can't hold it anymore, "I'm pushing oy God Kaitlyn said bearing down and giving into the contraction.
Nikki immediately pulled over and called 911 while getinf out of the car and rushing back to mick and Kaitlyn opening the door on Kaitlyn side, "ok Kaitlyn just push that's it. "The dispatch says I need to check for a head nikki says before a hand is placed on his making him look at mick, "hey hands off
my wife mick said to Nikki making the younger men laugh, "mick it isn't like It's something I haven't seen before remember mick I have five kids. "Ok baby just breath mick said as he lifted her skirt and pulled down her underwear to see hos child head crowing bewteen her folds, "ok sweetheart the head is right there just keep breathing to allow yourself to stretch around the head. Nikki placed his hands on the crowing head to keep it from crowing too fast, "just breath perfect ok now kaitie I need a gentle push Nikki said as he put his hand behind her head to help her push.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh Kaitlyn scream as she give a push and fhe head poped out making her yell as she poped her head back, "Baby the head is out your doing so good mick said rubbing his wife arm in awe of her. All of his children he has be amazed at the amount of strength they had to bring his children unto the world and even now the strength of Katie amazes him.
"Ok Katie look one more push and your have your baby nikki said as she pushed again and nikki caught the baby before placing the baby on Katie chest, "Katie we have a baby mick said Leaning in to kiss his wife on the lips as he heard the emts in the distance and on the way to the hospital mick messaged his kids and party members to let them know the baby was here.
After being checked out Kaitlyn and mick were placed in a room to bound with there new baby, "you were incredible baby mick said looking at her making her laugh. "Yes but I couldn't do it with the support of you and nikki and by the way you didn't want Nikki looking at my private parts really mick I was having a baby and you know he did watch his five kids be born
"I know I know but come on honey look at it from My point of view, if you were a man and your wife was having baby you wouldn't want anybody else looking at a spot where only your allowed to look. "I get that but honey a baby was coming out of me so I didn’t care who looked she said looking at her newborn baby, “do you think the girls will be happy mick Said looking to his wife who smiled at him. ““Probably not but you knew what i’m sure once they see there sibling there fall right in love with ‘em she Said as she heard the door open and she looked to see her two stepchildren and her two daughters coming into the room.
““Mommy you had the baby Olivia said running over to her mom making her two elder siblings laugh, ““I sure did baby are y’all ready to see your sibling she said as both girls nodded  there heads as she took the blanket and unwrapped to reveal there sibling who was sound asleep. ““Guys say hello to Christopher Alan she said and saw the excitement light up her eldest daughter face, ““we got a baby brother she said as Madeline looked at her mom with tear filled eyes. ““But momma I wanted a baby sister she said as Kaitlyn   reached out and stroke her face, ““I know baby but mommy had no choice on what the baby was but I promise you that you will love him. After both girls plus stormy and les held there brother they were sent home and mick and Kaitlyn were released  later that day.
When Christmas come the girls opened there presents mick and kaitlyn were extra thankful for the new baby they were blessed with, the following year in march they announced they had welcomed a child in December of 2022 which sent people into a panic and shock since no one knew she was pregnant except there families and friends but as time went on they were a happy family and Christopher filled that spot they had no ideal That was missing.

Also to clarify, Nora would be the heroic Star Sapphire, Nora knows Ren is a Green Lantern and he knows she’s a Star Sapphire, and he gets flustered when she openly flirts with him in their alter egos. He thought a simple domino mask would protect his identity, but his girlfriend(?) recognized him immediately, so now he has to deal with her twice as much, kinda like this;
Batwoman/Blake(looking out the window of the League’s base): Hey, Ren?
Green Lantern/Ren(preparing a cup of coffee with his back to her): Yeah?
Batwoman/Blake(pointing out the window): Your wife’s(?) here.
Green Lantern/Ren(confused): I’m not marri-
Green Lantern/Ren(drops his mug as he turns around to see an annoyed Nora hovering outside in the vacuum of space, with a sign that says “COME TO BED! I DEMAND SNUGGLES!”, before running off): NEVER!!!
Star Sapphire/Nora(annoyed): YOU CAN’T ESCAPE ME RENNY!!!
Green Lantern/Ruby(sighing at her senior’s actions as she walks in with Jaune): He can overcome his fears, except for dealing with his girlfriend…
The Flash/Jaune(turning to Kid Flash): Don’t listen to any advice Ren gives you regarding women.
Kid Flash/Oscar: *about to ask a question*
Green Lantern/Ruby: Don’t listen to your mother’s advice either, let’s just say it’s a miracle that you were even born…
Superwoman/Yang(offended): Hey! I’m not that bad!
Kid Flash/Oscar(turning to his maiden-powered mother): They’re right, your pick up lines are pretty lame.
Superwoman/Yang(sulking in a corner): My own son thinks I’m lame…
Kid Flash/Oscar(turning back to his aunt and uncle): What about-
Green Arrow/Sun(at a nearby table, working on his arrows and his bow that can turn into a staff): Sorry bud, your uncle forbid me from giving you advice, and I agree, I KNOW my advice is terrible.
Kid Flash/Oscar: Then what about-
Everyone(turning to him with outmost seriousness): ESPECIALLY DON’T LISTEN TO OZ’S!!!
Dr Fate/Ozpin(looking up from his book): They’re right, I don’t have much experience, and Ozma would just give you TERRIBLE advice.
Ozma(from within the helmet): HEY!!!
——
If Oscar is Ruby’s nephew, then he would be Yang’s son. Yang became Superwoman after getting the powers of a Maiden, instead of being an alien. Sun uses a bow that can turn into a staff.
About the Blake as Batwoman AU;
What do you think about Jaune as the Flash, Ren as Green Lantern(Hal), Ruby as Green Lantern(Jessica Cruz), Sun as Green Arrow, Oscar as Kid Flash, and Ozpin/Ozma as Dr Fate?
Jaune got struck by lightning, but his aura awakened and saved his life by granting him a Speedforce connection. He then took the young Oscar Pines under his wing when something similar happened when his Aunt Ruby(secretly a Green Lantern) brought him along to meet her boyfriend.
Ren was chosen to join the Green Lantern Corp and patrols Remnant as an Emerald Knight, working with Flash and fellow Green Lantern, Ruby Rose, often and becoming friends with them, while dealing with Nora flirting with him as Star Sapphire.
Sun learned how to survive by growing up on the streets of Vacuo and became someone else, something else…He became Vacuo’s Green Arrow, the Emerald Archer.
When Dr. Ozpin dons the Helm of Fate, his soul becomes one with the spirit of Ozma, granting him powers akin to the twin gods themselves!
It sounds like an interesting team, for sure.
I like the Jaune/Oscar team-up. Especially if Oscar is the head of "The Flash Fan-Club." Or was that Eobard Thawne?
Ruby and Ren as Green Lanterns is also a neat concept, since Green Lanturn is powered by will, which fits perfectly with Ruby, and is harmed by emotions, such as fear and anger, which fits Ren. Also, just so I'm clear, Ruby is Oscar's aunt, and she's dating Jaune. That right? And yes, yes, yes to Star Sapphire Nora.
Sun as a survivor in the brutal streets to become Emerald Archer is an interesting idea, and I'd like to see more of it. However, my only critique is him using a bow. I think if it stayed the bow, and the parts of the bow staff could be swapped out to fulfill a different purpose. And yes, I am thinking of the boxing glove staff piece.
Ozpin as a researcher who stumbles on the Helm of Fate would be a great idea, especially if he can consul with the previous members of Ozma, as Dr. Fate can do himself.

"I don't care about the Wizard of Oz!  I'll wear blue like Glinda in Wicked!" Lydia exclaimed, crossing the flat in her enormous blue gown and long blonde wig with perfect curls, waving her sparkly wand around.
"But in th’movie she wears pink!" Nate followed, already in his Tin Man attire. "With th'big crown."
"That movie is anti-Elphaba propaganda!"
"Lyds, y'look so beautiful," Win cried, jumping up from the couch to fawn over her wife as she joined them.
"Do we really hafta wear these?" Nats asked, pulling the straw hat from his head.  “It’s itchy!”
"Do you have to wear a costume on Halloween? Oh, I don't know, did we get married in flip-flops?” Lydia countered, sarcasm dripping from her words.  “I wanted to dress you up as the scarecrow before he became the scarecrow, but someone keeps preaching about the stupid movie."
"Hey! I'm just sayin', if it's meant t’be recognizable..." Nate grumbled.
"Ugh, you're getting on my nerves," Lydia huffed, stopping to admire Win, dressed as Elphaba, complete with green skin.  "You’re so beautiful, baby!  Absolutely gorgeous!"
"Thank you, Lollipop," Win laughed, taking Lydia's hand and spinning with her. "Now stop bickering you guys," she added. "I think everyone looks good. Let's go pick up Blossom and her little boyfriend."
"I promise I won't say another word until y'have some candy t'calm you down," Nate teased, turning Lyddie so he could kiss her cheek.
"Silly…"  She finally smiled. "Let's go, you all look great, you too, Nats."
"Thanks," Nats mumbled, letting Win pull him to his feet and stick his hat back on his head.
Outside their flat, it seemed trick or treaters were already on the prowl, scouring the streets with purpose, hunting for their sweet rewards.
"What's goin' on over at th'Community Centre?" Win wondered, noticing the crowd of people lingering outside the courtyard. "Are they havin' a Halloween party or somethin'?"
"Probably, they always do something to keep people from causing too much mischeif... I miss hanging out there every day with the gang," Lydia murmured, looking wistfully back at their rooftop.
"We spent last Halloween in New York and  y’still miss the Centre? You're too adorable," Nate laughed. "Maybe we can drop by after Blossom is done with the trick or treating."
"Yeah, sounds like fun," Win agreed, hooking her arms with Lydia's and Nate's as they walked.
It wasn't long before they arrived at the Bellamy residence, and it seemed like their neighborhood was busier than most others.
"Jay-sus, there are fuckin' ragamuffin's everywhere y'look," Nats exclaimed, having to quickly step out of the way of two kids that raced past, almost running right into him.
"It's because people over here are loaded, they give out the best stuff," Lydia explained, waving at a group of little girls admiring her dress before ringing the buzzer.
“Yeah, full bars,” Win added. That had been one of the things she’d actually liked about living in the neighborhood during her teenage years.
"Trick or treat!" Nate called when Blossom opened the door, already in her Dorothy costume. "I'll take this Lollipop, we're done for the night.  Send your boyfriend back to Australia!" he called, hoisting her over his shoulder as she laughed.
"You look so cute! Did Cormac come too?" Lydia asked, taking a look at her younger clone.
"No, he's on some school trip to a castle or something."  She grabbed her basket and pulled Brett, dressed as the cowardly lion, outside as soon as Nate let her down. "We're leaving, dad! I love you!"
"Love you too, honey, be careful!  Have fun!" Charles called back.
“Now I guess th’group’s complete,” Win said, looking around at all of them.
“Yeah, now which way d’yeh wanna head first?” Nats asked, looking down both sides of the street to see which way seemed to have more porch lights on.
"Hmmm the backstreet has that old lady who always has Twix and Mars Bars," Blossom pointed out, "so maybe there?"
"Lead the way, baby."  Brett took her hand, earning an eye roll from Nate.
"I think I liked the specky git better, he was more respectful," he muttered.
“No kiddin’, wasn’t as handsy either,” Nats agreed, scowling as they followed the two teens down the sidewalk.
"Stop being so jealous, don't you remember what you used to do with girls when you were fifteen?" Lydia snorted.
"Yeah! That's exactly why I don't like this fella," Nate cried in a hushed voice, pointing at them— Brett already had his arm around Blossom's waist, leaning to whisper in her ear.
“Yeah, and we ain’t jealous!  We’re just lookin’ out for her, guarding her purity and all that,” Nats exclaimed.
"You don't need to guard her purity, she has a wall covered in manga and a collection of musical theatre songbooks that do the job for you," Lydia laughed, slipping her hand to Nats' ass, giving him a squeeze.
Nats’ eyebrows rose and an impish grin spread across his face. “I guess yeh have a point,” he agreed, turning his face to press a kiss to Lydia’s jaw.
“Would it help I let y’get a little handsy yourself?” Win purred, slipping closer to Nate’s side and pulling his arm around her waist.
"Definitely," Nate gave her a squeeze, unabashedly looking down her cleavage. "This glamour y'have on... are you green all over or just the exposed bits?"
“Why don’tcha find out later?” Win teased, smirking up at him.
"I told you they'd be distracted," Brett chuckled.
"I still don't think they'll say yes," Blossom murmured.
"Say yes to what exactly, young lady?" Lydia asked, somehow knowing what was marinating in her mind. "The party at the Community Centre is for grown ups, they won't let you in."
"Aw why can't they come?" Win asked, looking between Lydia and Blossom.
"Are y'kiddin' me?" Nats exclaimed, gaping at her. "They'll be rubbin' up all over each other at that party!"
"It'll be kinda hard t'control where they go, they could sneak out and drink and—" Nate lowered his voice,"—y'know, snog and-and who else knows!"
"I was drinking at th’school dance when you two were my dates, and we were sneaking around too!  We won't do anything bad!" Blossom whined, looking back at them with puppy dog eyes.
"Right, I'll take good care of her, Nathan," Brett insisted.
"Say that again and I'll make you shit a frozen turkey," Nate threatened, narrowing his eyes.
"What d'you think, Lyds? You know her best," Win murmured. "As long as they promise not t'go off on their own..."
"Fine, mostly because I would've killed for this opportunity when I was her age.  Let's get some of that candy and go."  Lydia smiled, leaning in to whisper in Win’s ear.  "When we get there can you make my dress sluttier?"
"Yeah, course, my slutty Glinda,” Win smirked, squealing excitedly.
“Blossom, two drinks, no drugs, and no funny business.  Stay close," Nate said firmly, catching himself being responsible for once.
"How many drinks have you had before we even left?" Nats exclaimed, eyeing Win.
"None!" she cried, feigning offense. "I can't be excited without bein' drunk?"
"I was with her the whole time!" Lydia added, vouching for her while wrapping her arms around her wife.  "Me, on the other hand... one, I only had one beer."
"That's like any of us havin' three," Nate scoffed, watching as Blossom and Brett ran to ring the buzzer and get their candy.  "Just be careful, remember last Halloween?"
"Barely," Win winced. "I'll be good, I promise," she whined, pouting at Nate.
"Good girl."  He held her chin up and smirked, blowing her a kiss. "I believe yeh."
"But not too good though, right?" Nats asked, smirking at the girls.
"Hush, don't let th'kids hear," Win laughed. "We gotta set a good example for 'em."
"I don't know what you're saying, I'm the best girl.  I'm so good I don't even know how I do it," Lydia laughed.
"Oh yeah, you’re an angel, Lollipop," Nate teased, winking as he bit his lip discreetly.
"Okay, this block is done!" Blossom exclaimed excitedly, joining them, followed by her boyfriend who was definitely more interested in the party than anything else.
“Shit,” Win swore under her breath as she realized which street they’d just turned down. “Let’s avoid that one,” she said, nodding to the large house nearby.
“Ain’t that your step-mum’s—?” Nats asked, cutting off at her glare.
"Yeah, I don't wanna go there either," Blossom agreed, keeping her head low.
"I can go," Brett offered. "They don't know me."
"No, please, I don't want anyone to see me. Let's just keep moving. A lot of my bullies live around here too, we better skip this area."
“C’mon,” Win urged, placing her hands protectively on Blossom’s shoulders and steering them down a different street, heading back toward the Community Centre.
"You should let me sort it out with those assholes," Brett frowned. "That's what I'm here for, right?"
"I don't want any trouble, especially after what happened at th’dance... they were furious that their prank didn't work," Blossom muttered, taking Lydia's hand, which always made her feel safer.
Win stepped back when Blossom reached for Lydia, her stomach dropping slightly.
“Guess now’s as good a time as any t’hit up that party, huh?” Nats suggested, noticing the look on Win’s face.
"Yeah, sounds good.  I just hope none of them will be there," Blossom murmured—she’d only been to the Centre a handful of times, but had never actually gotten to visit the famous rooftop or been to a party like that.
"Don't worry, B, we're all here," Nate assured, kissing the top of her head gently before noticing the look in Win's eyes. "You okay, baby?" he whispered.
“Yeah, m’fine,” she assured him quickly, taking his hand to practically drag him toward the front door. “I just really want a drink.”
There wasn't security or anyone to stop the youngsters from entering the building, the probation office was empty, which was unfortunate as Lydia was looking forward to taunting Shaun like she always did.
"What d’you want? Vodka cranberry, Lyds?" Nate asked, eyeing the bar and she nodded.
"I want whiskey and coke!" Blossom shouted back.
"Fine, but I'll make it flat!"
“Whiskey double,” Win ordered for herself, slipping a tenner to the bartender as he handed her back a plastic cup with her alcohol.
“Just a beer for me,” Nats added, looking around, wondering if he knew anyone else there.
"Me too!" Brett added, trying to make his voice sound deeper than it was.
"Thank you," both Lydias said at the same time as they got their drinks.
"Hey, I love you," Lyddie, the older one, said before stealing a kiss from her wife. "You look so hot right now."
“Thanks, so do you,” she replied, discreetly altering Lyddie’s dress, making it shorter and more form fitting.
"Wanna dance, baby?" Brett asked, taking Blossom's hand, guiding her to the dance floor.
"Sure, we'll be right over there!" she waved at the quad as she followed him.
"Wait until I tell Wayne about this, he'll be so jealous," Brett giggled, pulling her into his arms.
"That doesn't matter, I'm here. Why would you think about him?" Blossom drawled, pulling him closer for a kiss.
"D’you wanna dance?" Nate asked, draping one arm around Win's shoulder.
Win downed her drink and nodded, leaning against Nate as she steered him toward the packed floor. “Yes please!” she cried.
"C'mere, beautiful," he brought her closer, making so she would lean against his chest as they danced. "Y'make my non-existent heart race."
Win couldn’t help but grin up at him, affection squeezing her heart. “We better go get your heart from that damn wizard soon,” she joked, raising up on her toes to steal a kiss.
"Dunno... got a feeling that bastard is a scammer," Nate laughed, forgetting completely to watch Blossom and her Australian wanker fella. "I love you so much, Winnie."
“I love you too, babe,” Win breathed, glad to be in his arms and oblivious to anything else.
“And you, Lollipop?” Nats asked, grinning at her and waggling his eyebrows.
"How can I say no to that face? You're so charming it makes me wanna scream," Lydia wrapped her arms around his neck.
Nats chuckled, lifting her off the floor to spin her in a circle before setting her down, his hands sliding down to her ass. “Y’look breathtakin’ tonight,” he said over the loud music.
"Thank you, you look quite dashing yourself. You might just give me a scarecrow kink," Lydia teased, even though the idea of a straw cock terrified her.  He did look sexy, and she couldn't look away from his adam's apple as he swallowed his drink.
Noticing her watching, Nats took another drink and held the liquid in his mouth while he crooked a finger, beckoning her closer.  "You know me too well," Lydia sighed, closing the distance between them and letting him flood her mouth with beer. "Tastes so much better that way."
"Yeah, I bet I know yeh better than y'know yourself by now," Nats joked, spinning Lydia in his arms. "Oh shit, where did little Lyds and that wanker go?" he asked, suddenly remembering they were supposed to be keeping an eye on the younger couple.
"I don't know..." Lydia looked around, in that sea of crazy costumes a tiny girl like her could easily get lost. "Let me call her."
"Tried it already, she left her phone at home," Nate cut in, noticing they were gone not long before his twin. "I knew this wasn't a good idea."
"Well sorry for wantin' th'kids to have a little fun," Win grumbled, stepping away from Nate's side. "Does anyone have Brett's number?" she suggested, barely tall enough to see through the crowd herself.
"It's not your fault, it's not what I meant!" Nate frowned—sometimes he forgot how prickly Win could get, her walls instantly going up.
"I don't think so, but we should stick together, they can't be very far.  And she's almost fifteen, she's not a child," Lydia exclaimed, trying to keep herself calm.
"C'mon, let's check any of the places they coulda snuck off to," Win suggested, ignoring Nate and patting Lydia's shoulder soothingly. "They'll be alright, they're probably just snogging."
"Oh yeah, just snogging, as if that's not bad enough!" Nats cried, but he followed Win's suggestion and pushed through the crowd toward the storage room.
"That bastard, she's a lightweight!" Nate growled, filled with anger. "And he's older!"
"Six months older," Lydia mocked.
Win rolled her eyes as they checked the locker room next, finding it empty except for some drunk party goers that definitely weren't Blossom or Brett.
"Wait, the music room," Lydia suggested. "It's our favorite place!"  However, when they burst into the music room, it too was abandoned.
"It looks like the only place left is the roof," Win muttered, wishing she could still be out dancing.
——
"There you have it, the infamous rooftop, best view of that disgusting lake," Blossom exclaimed, closing the door behind them.
"Ah well, the view seems gorgeous to me," Brett smiled, looking at his girlfriend instead.
"You're such an idiot," Blossom laughed, following Brett to one of the armchairs and sitting on his lap. "I kinda like that."
"I know," he smirked before his lips were on hers.
"Don't you think the others are worried?" Blossom murmured in between kisses.
"Eh, they're probably doing the same thing, don't worry about them."  Brett placed his hand on her thigh and she nearly jumped, convinced she'd never get used to that.
"Stop, I hear someone coming."
"We're not doing anything wrong..."
When the door to the roof flew open, banging loudly against the wall, it wasn't the quad that stepped out, however, but Delilah and a couple of her friends, drunkenly stumbling out onto the roof. "Oops, looks like this spot's taken," one of the girls slurred while Delilah rolled her eyes and glanced over at the couple on the couch.
"Not for long. Scram!" she exclaimed, until she got a better look at Blossom. "Hey wait, I know you..."
That voice was enough to make Blossom sick to her stomach and she flinched back, recognizing some of those faces. "You think?"  She took her glasses from her basket and put them on. "Better now?"
"We're not leaving, we got here first," Brett argued, unimpressed by the group.
"Ugh, it's the younger Bellamy, little sister of that pyromanic creep," one of the girls giggled.
"Do NOT talk about my family, you cunt!" Blossom jumped from her seat, a familiar rage compelling her to react.
“Aw whatcha gunna do? You gunna fight me?” Delilah asked, adopting a pitying look. “As if,” she laughed and her friends laughed with her. “You and your little boyfriend can find somewhere else t’snog.”
"Hey, don't talk to her like that!" Brett also got up.
"I never understood why you seem so bothered by my existence alone, but I guess now I realize you must be so jealous of me!" Blossom taunted, the alcohol taking away any restraint. "I have a sibling and a dad who love me, I'm infinitely more intelligent even at my age than you ever will be! I'm so sorry the highlight of your pathetic life was being punched by Lyddie Young."
“It’s not just you,” Delilah laughed. “As if you were that special,” she scoffed. “It’s anyone and everyone who’s beneath me. And who cares if my stupid stepsister or her pathetic father like me or not, I could care less about them.”
Win heard the end of Delilah’s tirade as she walked up the steps to the roof access. “Thought I smelled something foul,” she muttered, shoving her step sister out of the way.
"Winnie!" Blossom ran into her arms, the knot in her chest finally loosening. "This twat wanted to kick me out. Sorry we ran away, we didn't mean to."
"Look who's here on our rooftop," Lydia sneered. "Why don't you pick a fight with someone your own size? Are you scared to need another trip to the hospital?"
"It's okay, we were just worried about yeh," Win murmured, squeezing her tightly to her, completely ignoring Delilah and her friends.
"I ain't scared of you, slag!" Delilah scoffed, tossing her hair over her shoulder, her gaze taking in the two Nathans. "Aw, isn't that cute, you all dressed up like the dorks you are."
"I know you're not the brightest, but everyone here is dressed up!  C'mere, prick," Nate pulled Brett closer.  "Did you defend her? At least tell me y'said something!" he hissed and the boy nodded.
"Did the last beating I gave you make you lose your fuckin’ memory?" Lydia held Delilah by the straps of her top. "Don't ever talk to my sister, don't even look at my sister or you won't live to regret it!  And any one of you fuckers who wants what she's having, get in line!" she growled before letting go.
Fear flickered in Delilah's eyes for a moment as she backed away from Lydia. Once she was flanked by her friends once more, however, she shook it off and tossed her hair again.  "Whatever, you're fuckin' crazy. You and Winrey both," she sneered. "C'mon, let's find somewhere less lame to get high," she said to her friends, flipping Win off as she walked back down the stairs.
"Fuck off!" Lydia shouted before going to check on Blossom. "You okay?"
"Yeah, nothing happened, I was just angry cuz they said Simon’s a creep."
"Well fuck ‘em, he might be a creep, but he's our creep," Nate joked. "Who cares what they think?"
"I'm sorry she showed up, I didn't think she'd be here," Win murmured, stroking Blossom's hair.
"Maybe we should call it a night and take you guys home," Nats suggested, checking the time on his phone.
"That's not fair! I gotta go home because of her?" Blossom pouted. "You promised me two drinks, I only got one!"
"One and y’ran away t'do God knows what with your boyfriend!" Nate scolded.
"No need to freak out, it wasn't even second base, it was like first base and a half..."
"Y-yeah! Even when she stays over, we don't do anything bad, we just kiss and cuddle," Brett blurted out, before noticing his mistake when he saw the look in the boys' eyes.
"What d'you mean when she stays over?!" Nats exclaimed, gaping at Brett.
"You're so dense sometimes," Blossom groaned, giving her boyfriend a shove.
"What? I didn't think it was a big deal! The portal comes into my room so she spends the night sometimes..." Brett murmured.
"Does dad know about this?" Nate asked, folding his arms.
"Yeah, he gave us condoms but we never used them. The most we ever did was touch ourselves at the same time–"
"Jesus! Stop talking!" Blossom screamed, pinching the bridge of her nose.
Win couldn't believe how upset Nate seemed. She thought about telling him she did much worse at that age before deciding against it, not wanting to rile him further.
Nate took a deep breath as he realized there was absolutely nothing he could do to change the situation or stop them. "Well, I guess you're right, brother, we should go home," he nudged his twin's arm before heading to the door.
"Wow, I'm surprised how quickly he let that go," Win muttered, sharing a look with Lydia.
"You really think he let that go? He's furious, you know when he gets so angry he shuts down," Lydia whispered.
Win let out a sigh. “Y’know, after we take the kids back, we don’t have t’go home just yet…” she said, wrapping her arms around Nate’s waist from behind.
"Y'wanna come back here?" Nate asked, still pretty much heartbroken to know his precious little Lollipop was not as innocent as he imagined.
“Whatever you wanna do, babe,” Win murmured, squeezing under his arm to look up at him. “Whatever will cheer you up.”
"You're being more mature than I imagined," Lydia turned to Nats. "Come on, Blossom, we can do a sleepover next Friday.  It's getting kinda late and dad will be worried."
"Okaaaay," she whined, following them.
“Me, mature?” Nats laughed, though it was strained. “Yeah, I’m takin’ this news super well.”
The walk back to Lyddie's old home was awkward to say the least. The boys were as quiet as they had ever been, Blossom was giving Brett the cold shoulder and the girls didn't really know what to say to make it better.
"Well, I have work pretty soon, so I better get back," Brett mumbled. "Are you still coming for our date tomorrow?"
"Yeah, I'll be there," the girl nodded with a sigh.
Win waved as Brett left to go take the portal back, looking between the boys and Blossom. “I hope you had a little fun tonight, despite everything…” she murmured, pulling the girl in for a hug.
"Of course I did," Blossom hugged her back before giving Lydia a hug and stopping in front of the boys. "Hey, I'm still me.  I'm sorry you had to find all of that out, especially like that, but I also don't like keeping secrets from you."
"Don't let him pressure you t'do stuff you don't wanna do," Nate murmured, pulled her into his arms. "Trust me, make sure he respects yeh."
"I will, don't worry. I'm still too young for that."
Nats joined in on the hug as well and Win felt her heart clench with affection at the sight.
Who knew Nathan Young could be so… fatherly?  What happened to ‘goin’ after young impressionable girls while they were drunk’?
"I think my ovaries just exploded," Lydia whispered to her wife.
Blossom gave each of the boys a kiss on the cheek before heading to the door. "I love you guys."
"We love you too," Nate waved.
“So, what now?” Win asked as the boys rejoined them by the curb. “Any last Halloween tricks we wanna play?”
"I need another drink," Nate wrapped his arm around Win's waist. "And t’get you out of this costume."
“That’s more like it,” Win laughed. “I’ve got some treats for you under here, after all,” she purred, winking up at him.
"So much better than a stupid party," Nate leaned over to kiss her cleavage.
"Things might change, but never how much I love you... or how fuckin' hot you are."
"I'm proud of you," Lydia giggled, taking Nats' arm.
“For what?” he asked, throwing Lydia a confused look.
"For not freaking out, for being supportive," Lydia leaned against him. "That's definitely a huge turn on."

Note
In your opinion, what’s the worst line of dialogue in the show so far? Because some of it has been pretty bad and not even like in the sense that they’re cringey jokes, but like some actual, serious, meant to be epic lines are just not great and it can really ruin the immersion
Okay, there are some really out there ones, so I can't pick an absolute worst.
"All I do is tell jokes and hit stuff." Idk why the authors made a character recite meta reasons explaining that the writers had only been using her as comic relief and an extra fighter for almost the whole show, in a very non-organic way, so that someone could tell her that's not all there is to her character. Nora realizing her character has been neglected and getting upset that there isn't more to it did not a compelling character make, it just made me go "If you're aware you did it, make her have an arc that isn't about Ren, don't just make her pass out for several episodes!"
"We've been in bad situations before, and we didn't need an adult to come save us or tell us what to do!" Honestly, that whole speech is horrible and made it hard to think of Ruby as... Not an arrogant, naïve, ungrateful kid. Imagine telling the guy who literally stopped you from being kidnapped by a crazy murderer and stopped that crazy murderer from killing your friends in front of you that you don't need any adults! Honestly, what has Ruby done WITHOUT adults? And how are you going to write your main protagonist to tell her mentor/uncle that was doing the work in Haven, that's responsible for them getting to Haven, that saved her and JNR from Tyrian, that's the only reason she knows about Oz, the Inner Circle, Salem, to go to Haven in the freaking first place, HER OWN DANG EYE POWER...Like, how could the writers think of it as a good thing for Ruby to suddenly dismiss Qrow, say they didn't need adults to save them or tell them what to do, and then tell him to essentially comply with whatever she wants or get out - because when he said they shouldn't unnecessarily steal a plane to get across the Atlas border, her friends made sad faces. I cannot express how much I hated this whole scene.
"No more Gretchens." I've talked about how much I hate Hazel, right? I cannot and will not understand how they speedran a half-hearted redemption arc, primarily fueled by the incredible hypocrisy of his everything that never got called out, and then acted like Ozpin had some big lesson to learn about trusting the guy beating him on the orders of abusive ex wife while he's in the body of a kid, and how he never should've allowed a young girl to make the choice to learn how to kill monsters - while Ruby is outside throwing fits whenever any mean adult tells her she can't do whatever she wants whenever she wants. I will personally yeet Hazel into the fricking sky if I have to see him or hear about him again in this show.
"I just remember you being more of the quiet one." WEISS, WHEN? Blake was categorized in the first three seasons as feisty, she was stubborn and specifically called out Weiss, arguing and fighting with her for a full day and yelling at her to her face, calling her a selfish brat. She gave impassioned speeches and was always itching to enter the fight. Also, Weiss hadn't seen Blake do anything other than fight! What's new about that? What's 'not quiet' or 'out of Blake's character' about that? THEY KNEW EACH OTHER IN A COMBAT SCHOOL! Yes, Blake didn't trust or open up easily, but that doesn't mean Weiss should think that Blake helping in a fight is proof of some big change of character. This line made no sense at all.
Ironwood: "You've done the right thing." Emerald: "I have. Feels weird." @why-i-hate-rwby-now made a post about this line being really out of place and bad. But Emerald's everything was so badly done and her lines post leaving Salem were not super great generally, so yeah.
I don't know, I'm sure there's way more, but these are the ones that I had right in the front of my mind.

Daniel LaRusso: A Queer Feminine Fairytale Analysis Part 1 of 3
Disclaimers and trigger warnings:
1. These fairytales are European, although there’s often overlap in themes globally. I know European fairytales better, which is essentially the reason I’m not going to branch out too far. I opted to also stick to Western movies so as not to narrow things down, but also in particular “waves hand towards all of Ghibli” amongst many others. There’s a reason the guys in Ghibli are so gender.
2. TW for discussions of rape culture and rape fantasies
EDIT: FUCK I’M A GOBLIN CHILD! FORGOT TO PUT A MASSIVE MASSIVE THANK YOU TO @mimsyaf WHO HAS BEEN THE NICEST, KINDEST EDITOR ON THESE THOUGHTS AND CONTRIBUTED SO MUCH TO THEM AND GENERALLY IS A WONDERFUL PERSON!
Part 2
Part 3
1. Introduction
I recently wrote a little thing, which was about Daniel as a fairytale protagonist – specifically one that goes through some of the kinds of transformations that are often associated with female protagonists of fairytales.
I used quotes from Red Riding Hood, Labyrinth, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and Dracula, which, as an aside – the overlap between fairytales, horror, and fantasy and the ways each of those genres delve into very deep, basic questions of humanity and the world is something that will always make me feral. I will be generally sticking with fairytales though. Also I am very excited about some of those Labyrinth concepts going around!
I’m going to use “feminine” and “masculine” in both gendered (as in relating specifically to people) and non-gendered (as in relating to codes) ways throughout this, depending on context.
To be binary for a moment, because sample-sizes of other genders are low, women are usually able to fall into either feminine or masculine arcs, although sometimes the masculine-coded woman can become a “not like the other girls” stereotype and the feminine-coded woman a shallow cliché – in both cases they’re also under more scrutiny and judgement, so it’s always worth asking “is this character not working for me because of the writing or because I have ingrained biases? (Both?)”
Men don’t often get feminine-coded arcs. Because. Probably a mix of biases and bigotry. But there are some that seem to have slipped beneath the shuttered fence of “Sufficient Narrative Testosterone,” and Daniel LaRusso is one of them.
2. Some Dude Comparisons (Men Doing Manly Action-Hero Things like being trans symbolism and loving your girlfriend… seriously those things are hella manly, I wish we saw more of that onscreen…)
a. Neo
Much like Neo The Matrix, whose journey is filled with transgender subtext and specifically and repeatedly references Alice In Wonderland, Daniel doesn’t go through quite the kind of hero's journey usually associated with Yer Standard Male Hero, especially the type found in the 80s/90s.
Neo is my favourite comparison, because of the purposefulness of his journey as a trans narrative and the use of Alice. But I’m sure there are other non-traditional male heroes out there (but are they trans tho? Please tell me, I want trans action heroes).
Neo “passes” as a socially acceptable man, but online goes by a different name - the name he prefers to be known by - feels like there’s something inherently wrong about the world around him and his body’s place in that society, and then gets taken down the rabbit hole (with his consent, although without really “knowing” what he’s consenting to) to discover that it’s the world that’s wrong - not him. And by accessing this truth he can literally make his body do and become whatever he wants it to.
Yay. (The message of the Matrix is actually that trans people can fly).
Neo is – kind of like Daniel – a strange character for Very Cis Straight Guys to imprint on. He spends most of the first movie unsure about what’s going on, out of his depth, and often getting beaten up. He is compared to Alice several times and at the end he dies. He loses. He has to be woken up with true love’s kiss, in a fun little Sleeping Beauty/Snow White twist. Yes, after that he can fly, but before that he’s getting dead-named and hate-crimed by The Most Obvious Stand-In For Normativity, Agent Smith, and being carried by people far more physically capable than he is (people who also fall outside of normative existence).
Tumblr media
Trinity and Neo in The Matrix. The fact that a lot of the time neither of them is gendered is something. Literally brought to life by true love’s kiss.
I’m not about to argue that Daniel LaRusso is purposefully written along these same thought processes, so much as the luck of the way he was written, cast, directed, acted, and costumed all came together in the right way. And this is even more obvious when compared to That Other Underdog Fite Movie That Was By The Same Director as Karate Kid.
b. Rocky
The interesting thing about Rocky is that he is (despite being a male action icon) also not written as a Traditionally Masculine person. Large portions of Rocky – and subsequent Rocky films – are his fear and insecurity about fighting vs his inability to apply his skills to another piece of work and wanting to do right by his girlfriend (and future wife), Adrian. The fighting is most often pushed onto him against his will.
Much like in Karate Kid there is barely any fighting in Rocky I. Most of it is dedicated to how much Rocky loves Adrian and the two of them getting together. The fight is – again like in Karate Kid – a necessary violence, rather than a glorified one (within the plot, obviously watching any movie like this is also partly about the badassness of some element of the violence – whether stamina or the crane kick, it’s all about not backing down against a more powerful opponent).
Rocky is played by Sylvester Stallone. He’s tough, he’s already a fighter (albeit in the movie not a great one yet), he’s taking the fight for cash – so although he’s also soft-spoken and sweet, you’re aware of the fact that he’s got those traits that’d make a male audience go “Hell Yeah, A Man,” or whatever it is a male audience does watching movies like that… cis straight men imprinting on oiled muscle men sure is a strange phenomenon, why do you wanna watch a boxing match? So you can watch toned guys groaning and grappling with each other? Because you want to feel like A Man by allowing yourself to touch the skin of other men?
Tumblr media
Apollo and Rocky in Rocky III. This sequence also includes prolonged shots of their crotches as they run. Sylvester Stallone directed this. This was intentional. Bros.
Daniel LaRusso is not built like that. But that doesn’t really have to matter. Being smallish and probably more likely to be described as “pretty” than handsome, and not having a toxic masculine bone in his body does not a feminine archetype make. It just makes a compelling (and pretty) underdog.
c. Daniel
So where does the main difference really lie? Between Rocky and Daniel? Well, Rocky has the plot in his hands – Daniel, largely, does not. Rocky is acting. Daniel is reacting or being pushed into situations by others. Just like our boy Neo. Just like Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Snow White – just like some of the women in some contemporary(ish) fairytale films like Buttercup (Princess Bride), Dorothy (Wizard of Oz), or Sarah (Labyrinth).
This isn’t a necessary negative about stories about girls and women, so much as looking at what it is girls and women in fairytales have/don’t have, what they want, and how they’re going to get it. It’s about power (lack of), sexuality (repressed, then liberated), men, and crossing some taboo lines. It’s also about queerness.
3. The Karate Kid Part One: Leaving Home
Daniel LaRusso is a poor, skinny, shortish kid (played by a skinny, shortish twenty-two-year old) who doesn’t fit in after having been taken away from the home he was familiar with against his will. Not every male protagonist in a fairytale leaves of his own will, and not every female protagonist leaves under duress – Red Riding Hood, for example, seems perfectly happy to enter the forest. However generally a hero is “striking out to make his fortune,” and generally a heroine is fleeing or making a bargain or being married off or waiting for help to arrive. She is often stuck (and even Red Riding Hood requires saving at some point).
Daniel then encounters a beautiful, lovely girl on the beach, puts on a red hoodie (red is significant), is beaten up by a large, attractive bully, loses what little clout he may have had with his new friends, and generally has a mostly miserable time until he befriends and is saved by Mr Miyagi. To do a little Cinderella comparison: Miyagi is the fairy godmother who pushes Daniel to go to the ball in disguise as well, and that disguise falls to pieces as he’s running away.
Then Daniel asks for help, Miyagi gets him enrolled in a Karate Tournament, and starts teaching him. Daniel wins the tournament and gets the girl, the end.
While Daniel has chutzpah and is a wonderful character, none of the big events are initiated by him, except for the initial going to the forest/beach (and within all of these events Daniel absolutely makes choices – I’m not saying he’s passive): Lucille takes them to California, Miyagi pushes him to go to the dance, Miyagi again decides to enroll him in the tournament and trains him, and only because Kreese doesn’t allow for any other option, Ali is the one who more often than not approaches Daniel, and even their first encounter is pushed by Daniel’s friends.
Tumblr media
Daniel really is at a dance/ball in disguise and receives a flower from a girl who recognises him through said disguise, it’s unbearable! It’s adorable! I get it Ali, I fucking get it!
Daniel’s main journey within this – apart from not getting killed by karate thugs (love u Johnny <3) and kissing Ali – is to learn from Miyagi. He’s not necessarily a full-on feminine fairytale archetype at this point, although there are fun things to pull out of it, mainly in the context of later films and Cobra Kai: the subtext of karate and how that builds throughout all the stories, the red clothes, the themes of obsession, his being targeted by boys whose masculinity is more than a little bit toxic and based on shame… more on all that coming up.
He doesn’t technically get a home until they build him a room at Miyagi’s place, but he definitely leaves the woods at the end of this one, trophy lifted in the air after being handed to him by a tearful Johnny and all.
And then they made a sequel.
4. The Karate Kid Part Two: Not Out Of The Woods Yet
Daniel’s won the competition, Kreese chokes out Johnny for daring to lose and cry, more life-lessons are given (for man without forgiveness in heart…) and Daniel and Ali break-up off-screen, confirming that TKK1 was not really about the girl after all, which, despite Daniel and Kumiko having wonderful chemistry, is also an ongoing theme. Daniel enters the screen in The Most Baby-Blue Outfit seen since Tiana’s dress in Princess and the Frog? Or that dress in Enchanted? Maybe Cinderella’s (technically silver, but later depicted as blue)?
(Sidenote: At everyone who says Sam ought to wear a callback to that suit,  you are correct and sexy).
Surprise, Miyagi’s building him a room.
Double-surprise, Miyagi needs to go to Okinawa.
Triple surprise, Daniel reveals he’s going with him, because he’s his son dammit.
The Karate Kid Part Two is maybe the least Daniel-LaRusso-Feminine-Fairytale-Protagonist of the three, because it’s not really his movie. Daniel runs around with Kumiko (aka the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen), continues to be The Best Non-Toxic Boy a middle-aged Okinawan karate master could ask for, lands himself another Built Karate Rival (twice is just a coincidence, right? Right?), and eventually doesn’t die while wearing red again – twice: When Chozen almost strangles him to death at the Miyagi dojo and then during the final fight. The Saving Of The Girl (both the little girl in the storm and Kumiko) actually puts him in a more traditional masculine space than the previous movie did, even if the main theme of the film is about compassion and kindness and by the end, once more the boy whose masculinity is built on rockhard abs and matchsticks is on his knees. Daniel just has that power over big boys. It’s called kick/punch them in the face hard enough that they see stars.
There’s an aside to be made here about how much Daniel really is an observer in other peoples stories in this, although he is the factor that sends both Chozen and Kumiko into completely different directions in life (Chozen and Kumiko main characters when?) Anyway he comes out of it presumably okay, despite being almost killed. Maybe a few therapy sessions and he’ll get over it. Too bad Terry Silver is lurking around the corner…
5. The Karate Kid Part Three: The Big Bad Wolf
Alright people have written Words about the third movie. It’s fascinating. It’s odd. It’s eye-straining. It’s like olives – you’re either fully onboard the madness or it’s too off-putting for you (or you’re like. Eh, don’t see what all the fuss is about either way...). It’s basically a non-consensual secret BDSM relationship between a guy in his thirties (played by a Very Tall twenty-seven year old Thomas Ian Griffith) and a 17/18 year old (played by a shorter twenty-eight year old Ralph Macchio).
Also recently we got more information on Mr. Griffith’s input on the uh… vibes of the film. Apparently it wasn’t just The Sweetness of Ralph Macchio’s face, the screenplay (whatever that amounted to in the first place – release the script!), the soundtrack, the direction to not tone it down under any circumstances, the fact that Macchio categorically refused to play a romance between himself and an actress who was sixteen, no: it was also TIG coming up with fun ways to torture Daniel’s character and suggesting these to the director. Clearly everyone has fun hurting Mr Macchio (including Mr Macchio).
The point is that aaallll of that amounts to that Intense Homoerotic Dubiously-Consented-To D/s subtext that haunts the movie and gives a lot of fun stuff to play with. It’s also a film that – if we’re analysing Daniel along feminine-coded fairytale lines recontextualises his role in this universe.
The Fairytale goes topsy-turvy. Through the looking glass. Enter Big Bad Wolf stage right. Karate is a metaphor for Daniel’s bisexual awakening.
“Oh, when will an attractive man touch me in ways that aren’t about hurting me?” he asks after two movies of being hurt by boys with rippling muscles. “Why do men continue to notice me only to hit me? Do you think wearing red is making me too noticeable? Anyway, Mr Silver looked really good in his gi today.”
Daniel’s diary must be a trip.

Amoreena | Chapter Nine
Tumblr media
chapter nine
main summary: Heaven is a real place and it's located exactly 14.6 miles away from the FBI, Quantico Headquarters. Off behind a small park, under a fantastical willow tree surrounded by wildflowers, in every colour young minds can imagine.
Don't forget, heaven also comes with angels.
Chapter Warnings: date night!! this is very fluffy, very emotional and extremely horny. edgar allan poe is rolling in his grave at what they did in his enchanted garden
exhibitionism, public sex (no ones there tho), drug mentions at the end (let me know if I should tag anything else!!!!)
word count: 5.4k
from the beginning <3
He spent all of Thursday afternoon with Penelope in Richmond, setting up for his date that night.
Stringing lights on the trees, mowing the grass and trimming the flowers back, the staff ensuring that the museum was in pristine condition for them tonight, it was perfect. The cats were brushed, there were rose petals the fountain and the most beautiful picnic set up in the garden.
Penelope packed their dinner for them, keeping it in the museum fridge for when they finally arrived, it was the only thing Spencer needed to remember.
Y/N: just got home, about to get ready! Can’t wait to see you at 6 ♥︎
Spencer smiled at his phone, about to text her back when Penelope laid a hand on his back, “change into your suit and head back to her, traffic might be bad?”
“Thank you, for everything. You’ve always been my best friend, more of big sister actually,” Spencer pressed his lips together tightly as to not get emotional. “You’re wonderful Penelope, thank you.”
“Awe!” She swooned, wrapping him up in a big hug. “I will always love you, Spencer, you deserve all of this and so, so much more, now go before I cry.”
He laughed, pulling back, hand lingering on her shoulder as he walked into the museum. They let him change in the backroom, it felt incredibly strange to be putting on a suit inside Edgar Allan Poe's house to go pick up his wife. Not too long ago he dreamed about bringing a girlfriend here someday, life was moving too quickly, he needed a breather.
He kept his suit jacket folded and on the passenger seat as he drove home, where he lived with his family. Even just thinking that as he paid attention to the road made him smile. The wind hitting his face, his hair blowing in the breeze, he felt free at last.
He was where he was supposed to be, all roads lead to here.
Travelling up her driveway with a smile on his face as the dust followed him to her doorstep. She was waiting in a red dress on the porch, Amoreena and her nanny eating pizza on the steps as they waited for him.
Stepping out of his car, he straightened his tie and pulled his pants up more, looking at his wife like she was a star plucked from the sky, landing in this Virginia field for him.
She stood then, her satin dress flowing and exposing a leg as she walked down the steps to him, “Is this what you wanted?” She twirled in front of him to show it all off, her hair getting stuck in her lipstick and making her laugh.
“I love you,” is all he can say as she leaning in with a wide grin, surpassing the smile to kiss him gently, using her thumb to get all the lipstick off his bottom lip and chin.
“Love you too, cutie,” she winked, taking his hand and turning back towards Amoreena, “listen to Nanny, remember we love you and we will see you no earlier than 7:30 tomorrow, okay?”
“Yes ma’am!” She saluted, mouth full of pizza.
“And what are the new rules about coming into our bed in the morning?”
“Knock first, wait till you respond, don’t come in unless you say it’s okay,” Amoreena replied, sticking her tongue out at her as she remembered it all.
“Smartie pants,” Y/N smiled at her, “come give us a hug, don’t get pizza on my dress, please.”
Amoreena wiped her sleeve over her mouth before running into her mother's open arms, they shared goodbye kisses before it was Spencer’s turn. She held him so tight it felt wonderful, “goodnight Lovey, I’ll see you tomorrow morning, have the best sleep ever for me?”
“I’ll see you in dreamland,” she replied, kissing his cheek gently before she pulled back.
“Have fun!” Nanny called from the porch as Amoreena skipped back to her.
“We will,” Spencer replied, taking Y/N’s hand and leading her to the passenger side, he opened her door and helped her inside, insuring her dress was inside before closing the door.
Jogging back to his door, he got in and put on his seatbelt. He threw the car in reverse and turned around by the barn, heading down the driveway, not saying a single thing as Y/N stared at him.
“You’re really not going to tell me anything?” She shook her head, licking her lip before biting it as she huffed.
“We’re going to Richmond, Virginia, to read,” he gave her one hint.
“Hmm,” she smiled, “I’m sure you won't tell me the title, so Mr. I can remember every book ever, what’s a random line in it?”
“You’re smart,” he teased her, “but for the brilliant green of the huge leaves that spread from their summits in long, tremulous lines, dallying with the Zephyrs—”
“We’re going to the Edgar Allan Poe Museum!” She cut him off with a cheer.
He slows down on the barren dirt road, mouth wide open as she got it right, he turns to her as they come to a complete stop, “how the heck did you get that?”
“Yes!” she laughed, tossing her head back as she clapped and kicked her feet a little, so proud of herself, “I’m a librarian, Spencer! Did you think I wouldn’t know Eleonora?”
“That’s the most random sentence in the whole poem?” Spencer was shocked, she recalled it faster than he thought he would be able to if she read a line to him.
“My brother’s first motorcycle was a Zephyr,” she smiled at him, raising her eyebrows. “My brain is kinda like a filing cabinet, if you give me a word I can remember everything I’ve ever heard with that word included.”
He started to drive again, shaking his head as he paid attention to the road but still astounded by how amazing she is. “Amoreena gets that from you then, she could have both our eidetic memories together, that would be very interesting to see.”
“Eidetic memory?” She questioned.
“It’s what most people call photographic memory,” Spencer explained. “You can remember everything you hear which is why you and Amoreena are able to recall songs, books and movie facts so fast, while I can read back to you anything I’ve read without having to see it again, it’s forever in my mind.”
“So we’re both geniuses, cool,” Y/N smiled at him again, “sorry I ruined your surprise.”
“You just know where we’re going,” he reminded her, laying his hand on hers, interlocking their fingers as he drove.
They had an hour alone before the real date started.
So she showed him all of her favourite songs, including some of Amoreena’s playlists so he could get familiar with them before their trip to Rhode Island. Her voice was impeccable, she knew all the words and harmonies, often opting to cove background voices he wouldn’t have even known were there if it wasn’t for her.
She loved music in a way that intrigued him, she enjoyed music with a story. Much like the reason she loved books so much, she enjoyed picturing the happy places in her mind that the songs were able to take her to, they filled her with glee and hope as she sang to her heart's content. Taking short breaks to explain the meanings of songs, to recite the best lyrics and why the songs are close to her heart.
“Do you want to hear the song that reminds me the most of you?” She asked between songs, pausing so that nothing else would start.
“Sure,” he blushed, nervous for what it could be and how she imagined him in her mind, hoping he could live up to it.
“I'm perfectly fine I live on my own, I made up on my mind, I'm better off bein' alone. We met a few weeks ago, now you try on callin' me, baby, like tryin' on clothes,”
She stares at him with a beautiful smile as she waits to see his reaction to the opening, finally singing when the beat drops, dancing softly in her seat as she belted the words out to him.
“So prove to me I'm your American Queen, and you move to me like I'm a Motown beat, and we rule the kingdom inside my room,” She brushed her hand across his jaw, teasing him as the words flow from her lips to his ears, she loves him and he can feel it with every syllable.
“And all at once, you are the one I have been waiting for, King of my heart, body and soul, ooh whoa! And all at once, you are all I want, I'll never let you go King of my heart, body and soul, ooh whoa,” she sings so softly, with a purpose, turning it down a little so that he can talk to her.
“I love you,” he reminded her, “so much it hurts sometimes.”
“It’s like your heartstrings are tugging on each other, right?” She agreed, “like they want to jump out of our chests and run to each other.”
He nodded with a soft smile, reaching for her hand again holding it as he brought it to his mouth for a kiss, “queen of my heart.”
“Hmmm,” she thought over his words, “I’m pretty content with being princess still, Lady Amoreena is in line for the thrown, it’s part of her namesake after all.”
“Does the kingdom have a name?”
“You know the Elton John song Goodbye Yellow Brick Road?” She waited for his nod, “my grandma called it Ozellous so it’s like wizard of Oz but I added the 'ellous' because people always said they were jealous of our farm.”
He’s trying his best to keep his eyes on the road when all he want’s to do is look at her smile, to see her pupil change as she recalls the loving memory, it’s his favourite thing to do. Better than any movie or play, seeing her face was better than looking at the most expensive art piece. He was so in love with all of her.
“Were you like Amoreena as a kid?”
“Oh yeah,” she laughed, “bullied hardcore for it too, kids always told me to shut up cause I’d add facts to conversations I wasn’t a part of.”
“I would have loved to listen,” Spencer replied softly, knowing the feeling all too well.
They were only a few minutes away now, turning into the small town and passing quaint little homes and cottages. “Amoreena would love this drive, these are some interesting townspeople homes for her imagination, we should come back sometime this summer.”
His heart was going to actually explode, she was everything he never knew he needed.
“I’d love that,” he added as they pulled into the museum. “I’m a museum member and I’m a patron, so sometimes I donate rare pieces I find, they love me here.”
Her mouth opened to speak, but her eyes got caught on the twinkling lights in the distance, mesmerized by everything. Old cobblestone streets, brick buildings and wooden gates, it was straight out of the 1800s and absolutely fantastical.
“And it’s all ours for the night,” he put the car in park and turned to her, “wait here?”
She nodded, speechless as she continued to look out the window at everything. Spencer got out of the car, opening the back seat to grab and put on his jacket, straighten out his suit before opening her door and extending a hand to help her out.
“Princess,” he extended his arm for her to tuck her own under, he closed her door and escorted her through the gate and towards the garden.
The sun was just starting to set, 7 pm in early June being the most beautiful time of year in rural Virginia, the sky was a perfect purple as he leads her through the stone arches towards the picnic.
Her eyes sparkled with all the lights, wide and pupils blown as she took it all in. It was a fairytale, she was in a princess dress, he was the king of her heart and this was just the beginning of happily ever after.
“Spencer, whatever your middle name is, Reid,” she gasped, swatting his arm lightly with a smile growing on her face.
“It’s Walter,” he smiled right back.
He let go of her hand then and walked over to a table, turning on the record player and dropping the needle in the right spot. He did his research into some Taylor Swift songs, finding one that reminded him the most of Y/N and how much he loved her.
“May I have this dance?” He asks as she notices the all too familiar guitar strumming.
He reaches a hand out for her, pulling her in as she takes it, “I was so so lost before I found you in the park,” he explains the first verse, barely a whisper beside her ear as they start to sway.
There I was again tonight forcing laughter, faking smiles Same old tired, lonely place Walls of insincerity Shifting eyes and vacancy, vanished when I saw your face
“All I can say is it was enchanting to meet you,” he whispers once more, feeling the goosebumps bursting on her bare arms.
He spun her around, extending both their arms as she twirled out and then back into his embrace again with a giggle. She swayed back and forth, dancing with him like the night they got married in her field.
Your eyes whispered "have we met?" Across the room your silhouette starts to make it's way to me The playful conversation starts Counter all your quick remarks, like passing notes in secrecy
“And it was enchanting to meet you, All I can say is I was enchanted to meet you,” he sings them this time, spinning her out again as the chorus hits, her eyes widening as she began to smile wider than he’s ever seen before.
They sang the words together as they danced, smiling and laughing as they moved around the cobblestone. Finding a rhythm so perfect, so them, it was silly and not on beat in the slightest, mostly spinning, it was a spinning song if the album cover was any indication.
This night is sparkling, don't you let it go I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home I'll spend forever wondering if you knew I was enchanted to meet you!
“The lingering question kept me up, Two a.m., who do you love? I wonder till I'm wide awake! Now I'm pacing back and forth, wishing you were at my door, I'd open up and you would say, hey! It was enchanting to meet you, all I know is I was enchanted to meet you,” Y/N’s voice softer than ever as she sang her anxieties into his ear, remembering the day at the museum where she wondered if she could have him all to herself.
This night is sparkling, don't you let it go I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home I'll spend forever wondering if you knew This night is flawless, don't you let it go I'm wonderstruck, dancing around all alone I'll spend forever wondering if you knew I was enchanted to meet you
Spinning around in circles she leaves his grasp, dress circling in the wind and he watches her. She takes both his hands and spins around with him in a tight circle before pulling back in, their chests bumping as they laughed, happier than he’s ever been in his entire life, and she’s made him pretty happy in the last few weeks.
The girl of his dreams, dancing around him with a smile like she was making her own music video. This was a dream of hers he didn’t know, making it come true as it became a dream of his own.
He places his hands on her cheeks as he stares into her eyes, “this is me praying that this was the very first page, not where the storyline ends. My thoughts will echo your name until I see you again. These are the words I held back, as I was leaving too soon, I was enchanted to meet you,” he whisper’s the words, barely singing, more talking.
“Please don't be in love with someone else. Please don't have somebody waiting on you. Please don't be in love with someone else. Please don't have somebody waiting on you,” she sings right back to him, staring into his eyes as they stand still in the garden.
She pulls him into a kiss, breathing in deeply through her nose as they hold each other’s cheeks, unable to get closer as they kissed. Pulling away with a loud smooch sound, smiling before taking her hands in his, once more.
Spinning her around again as the beat drops once more, her smile more beautiful than the first time he saw it. He was so madly in love, he firmly believed he was in heaven.
This night is sparkling, don't you let it go I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home I'll spend forever wondering if you knew!!
This night is flawless, don't you let it go I'm wonderstruck, dancing around all alone I'll spend forever wondering if you knew I was enchanted to meet you!
Please don't be in love with someone else Please don't have somebody waiting on you
“Now go stand in the corner and think about what you did,” Taylor Swift's voice cuts into the beautiful moment as her songs change and the mood drastically changes.
Y/N bursts out in laughter, jumping lightly as she enjoyed the song, head-banging along as she danced by herself until Spencer turned the music off once again, “you’re so cute.”
“Thank you,” she bowed, “this is cute!”
“There’s a picnic basket in the fridge inside, and some wine if you think that’s a good idea?” Pointing towards the main house, she followed him towards the door.
“Oh, hello?” Her voice changed as she noticed the two black cats on the window, letting Spencer head inside for the basket as she talked to them.
“That’s Edgar and Pluto, the groundskeeper found them in the shed in 2012,” Spencer explains as he comes back out, basket in hand but she’s too busy with the cats to notice.
Petting both their faces, they stretch into her reach and bask in the feeling of her nails on their skin, Spencer would agree it felt nice. He loved the feeling of her hands in his hair, he must have been a cat in his last life.
“Amoreena wants her own indoor cat,” Y/N smiled wide at him, “she always wanted to call him Hercules like the Elton John song, almost like she knew you were her dad all along.”
She took his free hand then, following him towards the blanket in the grass, “how?”
“There’s a line in the song about Greek gods, but it says Hercules on her side and Diana in her eyes, and she does have your mom's eyes, right down to the colour of her iris,” Y/N looked at him like he was everything to her.
Spencer couldn’t speak, he just set the basket on the ground and ushered her to sit down beside him. She held the skirt of her dress up so she could sit crisscross applesauce on the blanket, draping her dress over her legs so she didn’t show anything off just yet.
“Every time I look at you I understand all her quirks and her facial expressions,” she added like she was trying to make him cry, “I’ve been looking at her for almost 8 years now, wondering who you were and now I know, and you’re so much better than I ever imagined.”
“Would you have looked for me when she turned 18?” Is all he can ask through his sniffles, trying to hold it together for her.
She nodded, “I was going to tell her soon anyway, she asks a lot of questions I’m not sure if you noticed.” Her giggle was priceless, “she had lots of questions when the goats were born this year and that meant her asking more about making human babies and I just said a special man helped me make my dreams come true, and she thought it was Rumpelstiltskin.”
Spencer couldn’t fight the laugh that erupted from him, leaning forward as he chuckled, making her laugh too. “Does she even know the whole story?”
“She’s only seen the 4th Shrek movie with him, she has no idea that he also takes the babies,” Y/N placed her hand on his knee gently, “If I get pregnant again, I’m going to tell her about how it all works as simply as possible, I want her to feel included in this and she’ll be less jealous if she sees this as a learning opportunity.”
“That’s a good idea,” he agreed, “I still can't believe she almost punched Michael for hugging me.”
“Oh, I can,” Y/N laughed again, “she was being bullied last year by an older kid and I said if someone upsets you or hurts you, sometimes it’s not that bad to hurt them back. Make them know you’re not weak and you care about yourself, and she gave a kid a black eye for tugging on her braid.”
Spencer couldn’t stop smiling, “that’s my girl.”
Y/N opened the picnic basket then, taking everything out with a smile as Spencer stared at her, thinking a million different thoughts about future kids, how Amoreena would grow up, seeing her as a big sister to hopefully many.
They both leaned forward and kissed softly, smiling as they pulled back, “so you like charcuterie?”
She laughed, “Amoreena called it shark coochie once, I can’t not think of that now.”
“How many kids do you want?”
“Have you ever read cheaper by the dozen?” She teased him. “As many as I can have, I have the funds thanks to my job and the farm and not having to pay a mortgage, I was going to have another baby next year anyway, I had an appointment and everything scheduled, I even tried to get them to contact Amoreena’s father for another sample but they said they couldn’t ask you outright for me.”
“They asked me if I wanted to give another sample when I asked if I could know my kids,” Spencer remembered the words exactly, “she said ‘You have four offspring so far, none of the other samples used have produced a child, the women were all IVF as well so it wasn’t your swimmer's fault if you wanted to donate again.’”
“I don’t want to know the truth, are you okay if we let her decide if she wants to find out at 18?” Y/N asked softly, “I’m content thinking you’re her father, I don’t want to know if it’s some other tall who-lookin’ genius, okay?”
“That’s perfect actually,” Spencer agreed, “and on the kids front, you don’t mind me being in my 70s when they all start going to University?”
“My dad is 68 with no signs of stopping, and he’s still fantastic with his grandkids,” Y/N always had a fact to combat his anxiety. “You have a lot of life left in you, I’ll take good care of you so that they have the best dad ever for as long as possible.”
Spencer was so in love with his family he felt like he was floating, laughing and smiling all meal long as they shared facts back and forth about their lives. Getting to know each other more and more as the seconds passed, he imagined it would be like this forever. She was like a bottomless pit of information, facts, stories and secrets. He loved every single one she shared with him.
She poured herself a second small glass of wine, “you know they say that one glass of wine every once in a while is actually good for the baby?”
“It doesn’t work that fast,” he reminded her, more like he reminded himself. He didn’t want to hope in the chance it didn’t happen right away.
“I had a nightmare last night for the first time in a long time, so I think it worked,” she teased him. “I won't know till June 10th, that's when my next period would be.”
“Nightmare?” It was the only part he picked up on, worried for her and wondering why she didn’t wake him up.
She nodded softly, “I found out I was pregnant and you never came home, and I got lost in the forest looking for you and then I remembered I could wake up.”
He rests his hand on her knee, rubbing his thumb against her bare skin softly, “I’m always coming home to you.”
“I know, when I got pregnant with Amoreena I had bad dreams in the first few weeks too, mostly about giving birth to nothing and being alone all over again, the subconscious and pregnancy hormones are mean as fuck when they hang out,” she laughed away the pain, “I know none of it is real.”
“Good,” he whispered, not knowing what really to say, he wasn’t used to soothing other people yet. Most people didn’t want his facts or concernment when something happened, just a hug normally.
She took a deep breath, pushing everything away, “good news, either my anxiety disorder is back in full swing or something’s working in here,” she laid her hand over her stomach, “either way, I’d like to try again tonight?”
He laughed, “we don’t need to make a baby every time you want to have sex?”
She got onto her knees then, crawling over the blanket and sitting right in Spencer's lap with her hands on both of his cheeks, “I want all your babies.”
He held her waist, pulling her in closer to his chest, “right now?”
She nodded, moving her dress out of the way to undo his belt, “no one is here right? It’s not like anyone would know?”
“Mhmm,” he agreed, kissing her neck as she unzipped his pants, moving his underwear out of the way just enough to free his hardening cock, she stroked it right there in the middle of the garden, staring down between their bodies in awe as he came to life.
Sitting up on her knees more, the slit of her dress made it a lot easier for her to show him her underwear. She was wearing just a thong, perfect for pulling to the side as she lowered herself onto him, ever so slowly.
She fixed her dress around them, completely calm and composed as he was fully inside of her, “you’re okay with this?”
He huffed a laugh out of his nose, dropping his forehead to her shoulder so he couldn’t buck into her and ruin the moment she was making, his hands moving to her hips, guiding her back and off him slightly before back down again, making her gasp.
“I thought you wanted to read?” She teased him as she started to ride him more, moving her hips in a way that took him in and out of her at just the right angle, her hands on his shoulders as she bounced on him lightly, he couldn’t even think straight. “Go on, read to me.”
He took a second to remember the words, mind totally somewhere else and not interested in a book at all when her boobs were right in his face.
“I am come of a race noted for vigor of fancy and ardor of passion,” the first sentence slipped past his lips as she kept going, he took a moment to kiss right under her ear before continuing.
“Men have called me mad; but the question is not yet settled, whether madness is or is not the loftiest intelligence—whether much that is glorious—whether all that is profound—does not spring from disease of thought—from moods of mind exalted at the expense of the general intellect.”
“Shit,” she moaned, pushing his hand down towards her clit, “you can multitask, smartie pants.”
His thumb was on a mission then, rubbing small circles against her pleasure point, she tossed her head back with her eyes closed as she continued to ride him, “I don’t hear you reading?”
He moaned softly in her ear at the feeling, and the fact she wanted to get off to hearing him recite something from memory, it was more euphoric than he could have ever imagined.
“They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night. In their gray visions they obtain glimpses of eternity, and thrill, in ah- awakening, fuck,” he was trying his best to stay as composed as she was when he really just wanted to lay her against the blanket and fuck her into next week.
“to find that they have been upon the verge of the great secret,” Y/N whispered the end of the sentence, grinding down on him harder than before.
“In snatches, they learn something of the wisdom which is of good,” she whispered into his ear, biting his earlobe softly with a moan and he kept rubbing her clit, “you’re so good, Spencer, so so good," she paused to enjoy the moment before whispering in his ear once more, "And more of the mere knowledge which is of evil. They penetrate, however, rudderless or compass-less into the vast ocean of the "light ineffable," and again, like the adventures of the Nubian geographer, "agressi sunt mare tenebrarum, quid in eo esset exploraturi.”
Her words softer than ever and they were never going to get to the end of this poem, he'd never know how the rest of the words sound on her tongue, she pulled him into a kiss then, moaning into his mouth as they ground against each other, finding a perfect rhythm to bring them to the end.
“There, yes, fuck,” she whispered against his lips, pushing against him as she arched her back slightly, slipping away from his mouth as she did so.
He slammed into her then as he chased her lips, making her whimper one last time before she was shaking in his lap, her legs quivering as she finished on him, sending him over the edge and stilling as he came with a shudder. He held her so close, both of them breathing into each other's mouths as they came down, kissing and smiling as they stayed connected.
“We’ll name her Eleonora,” Y/N teased, pulling off him and laying back against the blanket.
He made sure her underwear was back in the right spot before covering her with her dress again and sliding himself back into his underwear.
“Amoreena and Eleonora have a good ring to it, we just need 10 more names,” he teased right back.
“Hopefully we have a little boy one day too,” she smiled as she tugged him down beside her, cuddling into her side as they stared up at the newly dark blue sky and the array of stars that decided to join them this evening.
“Even if it’s just Amoreena, I’ve never been happier in my whole life than when I’m with you,” he whispered. “Thank you.”
“For what?” She asked, purely to keep hearing his voice.
“Making me want to get up in the morning again, giving me a reason not to buy drugs for something euphoric to happen to me, showing me real love and proof that happiness is possible if you just chose to be happy,” he gave example after example.
“I thought I learned everything the world had to offer, but you’ve been showing me new little life hacks that make the world so much better, I see a future of bright colours and happiness and laughter for the first time ever, so thank you.”
She held him closer, “it’s been a pleasure falling in love with you, together, you deserve to love yourself. You’re so wonderful Spencer, it breaks my heart to know that anyone has ever made you feel the opposite.”
He couldn’t speak anymore, turning to kiss her neck and cheek so he had something to do that wasn’t crying. He loved her so incredibly deeply that he felt like he was an anchor, dropping to the bottom of her deepest ocean, without a single plan to leave.

TW: Fluff. So much fluff. Explosions.
Fifth date. Things were supposed to happen, right? I mean, at least a kiss; other than a peck on the cheek. But he was a friggin’ gentleman; which I couldn’t help but be a little annoyed about; as it made it very difficult to get to the fun part of our relationship. Not that we didn’t have fun, mind you. Clark had an uncanny way of turning my frown upside down.
Ever since I’d run in to him – literally – at that coffeeshop a few months ago. I had left home early, so I wouldn’t be late for my first day at my new job, at the elementary school. I’d been so nervous about it; I hadn’t been able to fall asleep until 3 am; and was now battling exhaustion, nerves, and the fact that my new red shoes were really uncomfortable – all at the same time. I’d ordered a large black coffee; extra strong; and was on my way out the door – the sun in my eyes – when I tripped on the steps; my drink splashing out of the cup.
Suddenly; two strong hands were grabbing my shoulders; and pulling me up to stand. “Are you ok?”, a warm voice said. I looked up, and found two friendly blue eyes looking me over. “Yes, thank you”, I smiled; before noticing the large brown stain on the man’s white shirt. “Oh, crap. I am so sorry!”. He looked down himself; and smiled. “It’s fine. White isn’t my color anyway”. I laughed. “Still, I’m so sorry. Didn’t I burn you?”. The coffee had been scolding; I knew. He smirked. “I’m thick skinned”, he insisted.
He was still holding on to me; and I felt a warmth spreading in my stomach; making me short of breath. “Miss?”. His eyes suddenly looked worried. “Are you sure you’re ok?”. I smiled. “Yes, absolutely. It’s just been… a morning”. He chuckled. “Can I buy you a new cup of coffee?” I simultaneously nodded and shook my head. “Yes… no… I mean, I should buy you one; as an apology”.
He removed his hands from my shoulders; leaving me to stand on my own. “No need for an apology”, he smiled. “But I’ll take the coffee”.
We’d spent 10 minutes sipping at our hot drinks – for which he’d insisted to pay – and talking about what we did for work, and what our favorite movies were; having noticed an advertisement for some superhero movie on a passing bus. Apparently Clark wasn’t a fan of superheroes; but found it hilarious that I loved The Wizard of Oz – being from Kansas himself. Then; Clark had asked for my number, and I’d given it to him. He shook my hand, and we’d said goodbye.
The next afternoon; he’d called me, and we’d gone to see a movie – one about aliens instead of superheroes. He’d still been frowning all the way through it. “It was just really… unrealistic”, he said afterwards over a beer at a local bar near my apartment. He walked me home, declining my offer to come up for coffee; and had given me a short hug, before saying goodbye.
The next time has been a trip to an apple picking farm. “You can take the boy out of Kansas…”, I’d chuckled, as he’d carried a bushel of Granny Smith’s back to his car. “I just really like pie”, he’d smiled. He’d driven me home; and on the way there, told me about his moms pies; and how it was his favorite thing in the world – next to sweet potato fries. When he dropped me off; he leaned in, and kissed my cheek. “Goodnight”, he’d whispered; and I’d bit my lip – and hoped for more. More didn’t happen.
Then there was the quick cup of coffee on both our lunchbreaks; where I’d told him about how I’d sprained my ankle on roller-skates – 3 times in the same amount of years. He’d snorted a laugh. “Well you are kind of clumsy”, he’d said, and removed a strand of hair from my face; putting it behind my ear – before running off for a sudden work emergency.
And lastly; the roller-skating rink. Because I insisted. And he said he couldn’t say no to me. That night, he’d held my hand as we went about the floor; and grabbed my waist several times, as I was about to fall. “Careful, slick”, he’d said. “Oh, is that my nickname now?”, I’d chuckled. “No. I think I’ll call you Red. From those godawful shoes you were wearing when I met you”. It was another kiss on the cheek; and a hug that lingered, and made my knees weak. And then just… goodnight.
So yes. I was just about desperate to kiss the man. He was gorgeous; which at times had made me feel insufficient and a bit self-conscious – but then there was the way he looked at me. His eyes would light up as I talked; as if I was the most fascinating person he’d ever met. Even when our conversation was about cereal, or how one of the kids at my school had put bead up his nose. It was like his eyes drew me in; and then – as my breath would hitch, and I’d part my lips – he’d pull back as if nothing had happened.
I couldn’t help but ask myself; does he just want to be my friend? My really funny; warm; kind; built like an Olympic athlete, with perfect lips friend? I’d decided that I needed clarity on where we were going with our relationship – even if that thought did make me feel like I was living in a sad rom-com, where everyone was always talking about their feelings.
Tonight, it was dinner. Nothing fancy, just a steakhouse I’d suggested. If Clark turned out to just be in it for the apple picking and coffee; then at least I could drown my sorrows in a medium rare steak, with enough bearnaise-sauce to drown a small elephant.
Putting on my favorite jeans, black pumps, and a snug top; I waited for the call to let me know Clark was by the door on the street. He’d never been inside my apartment; and didn’t seem very interested in it either. This isn’t real, I told myself to guard my feelings against the inevitable rejection I’d have to face that evening. We’ll eat, laugh; and he’ll walk me home – and then tell me that he’s got a wife and three kids in Smallville, waiting for him to come home for game-night.
A text message made my phone light up. Hey Red. I’m late. So sorry. Be there as soon as possible. – C
Great. That gave me even more time to just hang out… and be anxious.
No worries, Kansas. See you. xo – R Send… Crap, why did I write xo? What am I; a teenager?
I sat down on my couch. Deciding I needed to pass the time doing something other than stare at the wall; I turned on the television. Landing on the news; I dropped the remote.
In Stockholm, Sweden, the building of a new sky-scraper in an old neighborhood; had made a nearby building begin to crack in the foundation. The old residential was quickly giving in; and families were being evacuated from their homes. There were firetrucks spraying water at the structure, to avoid flames from any electrical fires.
Though it was a terrible situation for those families; I was confused as to why one building falling apart half way around the world, was a breaking news story here. That was until I saw a figure at the bottom of the screen; seemingly supporting the weight of the building on his shoulders. Oh, right! That guy! The Superdude…, I chuckled to myself; and went to see if Clark had texted me back yet.
Nothing. It was probably the xo-thing. He didn’t know how to reply to that.
The news story ended when cameras filmed Superman handing a shaking and wet puppy to a little girl; who kissed his cheek in thanks. I always found it kind of neat, that the flying caped man managed to know where every camera was; so that anyone watching would find it difficult to make out his features. From what I could see; he was sort of cute. If Clark doesn’t work out; I could always throw myself of a building; and have that guy catch me. It must be lonely in that fortress of solitude; maybe he’d like some company.
A text. Outside in 5. Can’t wait to see you. xo – C
xo. He’d written xo. Right. Big girl pants on, and go talk to him.
Outside the door of my building stood Clark; a smile the size of the sun plastered across his face. My heart jumped. He opened his arms; and took me in for a hug.
“Hi, Red”, he breathed. “I’m so sorry I’m late. It was a work emergency”. “It’s fine”, I said and looked up at him; and opened my mouth to say something more – until I noticed something strange.
“Clark?”, I said. He was still holding on to me. “Yeah?”. “This is going to sound weird, but… why do you smell like wet dog?”.
He pulled back. “Yeah… I was doing a story at an animal shelter”, he said. I narrowed my eyes at him. “Let’s go!”, he said, and took my hand.
It was a beautiful night; so we decided to skip the cab, and walk the few miles to the restaurant. We walked down the street, hand in hand. It wasn’t the first time we’d held hands; but then it was because he was trying to keep me from falling. This was different. It wasn’t strange; but warm… familiar. I swallowed hard. “I want to talk to you about something, Kansas”, I said. He looked down. “You don’t want to do that at the restaurant?”, he said with a strained voice. “No, I think I need to do it now”, I answered. He nodded. “Ok. Do you want to sit down?”, he asked; and gestured at a bench on a playground we were passing.
Once seated; I let go of Clarks hand. “What’s up, Red?”, he asked earnestly. “You seem… tense”. He laughed nervously. I smiled. “I like you, Clark. A lot”, I said. “I like you too. A lot”, he smiled. I matched his nervous laughter. “It’s just… lately, I’ve been thinking. About us… and what we are”. He looked down. “Yeah, I figured we’d get to this at some point”. I nodded. “We have fun”, I said. “Like friends. But I don’t know if we both feel like this is more than that. Friendship, I mean”. He sighed. “Right. No, I get it”, he said. “You’re new in the city, and shouldn’t be settling down with anyone serious”.
I looked at him confusedly. “I’m not sure I follow”, I smiled. He took my hand. “You’re an amazing woman, Red”, he said “And I’ve enjoyed spending time with you. But maybe you’re right, and this is a good time to call it quits. If that’s what you want”. My heart fell into my stomach. “Is that what you want?”, I asked timidly. “I want you to be happy”, he said, smiling sadly. “With or without me in your life. I’d just hoped I’d have a few more dates before you came to your senses about me”.
I frowned. “Clark… you need to be clear with me here”, I said. “Are you breaking it off with me?”. He looked at me with a frown on his face. “I thought you were breaking up with me…”, he said. “You suggested that restaurant; and I thought you wanted to be in public when you did it”. I laughed. “No. I just… really like steak”, I smiled.
He exhaled with relief. “Good. Because I was lying. I really don’t want you to be happy without me…”, he said. “I mean… crap… I want you to be happy; I’d just really like to be a part of it. If you’ll have me”. I bit my lip and nodded. “I’d like that”, I said. “I thought you saw me as a friend because… you haven’t…”. I couldn’t finish the sentence. He took my hand, and tried to meet my gaze. “What? Tell me”, he said. I took a deep breath. “You haven’t kissed me”, I said; meeting his eyes for a second; before looking down in embarrassment.
He put his hand under my chin, and raised it to finally meet my eyes for real. “Red, I’ve wanted to kiss you since the moment you spilled scorching hot coffee on my least favorite shirt”, he smiled. “I was just waiting for the right time, and…”. He exhaled and took my other hand; playing with my fingers.
“My life is… complicated. The work I do; sometimes it’s dangerous”, he said. I raised an eyebrow at him. “You write fluff pieces for The Daily Planet”, I chuckled. “That too…”, he muttered and looked down.
I smiled; wanting to ease the tension. “You know, I was watching a news story while I was waiting for you”, I said. He looked up at me with questioning eyes. “Yeah?”. I chuckled. “It was about that Superman guy. He was helping some people; in Sweden I think”, I said. “I was telling myself; that if you didn’t want to see me anymore; I could always just… throw myself of a building, and he’d rescue me. Then I could hook up with him”. He laughed nervously. “What? Like a rebound?”. “More like a… third choice. If you didn’t work out”. He narrowed his eyes at me. “Only third?”, he said. I scoffed. “Have you seen Aquaman? I mean, come on!”, I grinned.
His lips tightened, and he stifled a laughter. “So… if Superman is third… and… Aquaman…”, he raised an eyebrow at me, “… is second. What does that make me?”. I sighed. “The guy I’ve been waiting months to kiss”.
He looked deep into my eyes; and my breath hitched. He put his hand on my cheek; and he leaned in close to me, stroking my temple with his thumb I brushed my nose against his; and closed my eyes, letting my lips part.
Suddenly; he pulled back. “Clark?”, I asked. His eyes were scanning the area; before they met mine again – alarmed. “Red, go home.” “What’s wrong?”, I said. “Did I say something?”.
He stood up and began backing away; his eyes again searching his surroundings. “Listen, go straight home. Don’t stop for anything. I’ll… I’ll call you when I can”. He ran around a corner, and was gone. I heard a strange woosh, and a stray cat ran from the alley he’d gone in to.
I felt suddenly cold. This was the weirdest date I’d ever had; and it hadn’t even really started. Then there was the fact that the guy I was falling head over heels for, finally said he care about me too – and then just… left. That’s it, I laughed to myself. I’m finding a really high building to jump off.
I began walking home. Slowly. I didn’t want Clark to have the pleasure of getting me to do what he wanted me to. Jerk. Not a jerk. Crap; I really like him. More than like. This is real.
I heard a crash, and then a screech; like metal being torn apart. I felt a warm gust of wind, forceful enough to make me stumble. I looked up. Was that seriously a bus flying through the air?
Another crash; this one even closer. I fell to the ground; and was scrambling to get up, when I saw a minivan sliding on its roof towards me. I got on my feet, and bean running out of the way; when something red and blue slammed into the minivan; making it alter its course. Was that?…
I ran towards my block. Red, go home. I’m going; but where are you Clark? Are you ok?
I kept running; fishing my phone out of my pocket, and dialing Clarks number. It kept ringing, but went to voicemail. Hey. This is Clark Kent. Leave me a message and I’ll get back to you… beep. Come on, Clark. I need to know you’re ok!
I redialed. Suddenly I heard a phone ringing near me. I looked into a bush; and saw… Clarks jacket? His phone was ringing in his pocket. 2 missed calls from Red – heart emoji. Damn it, Kansas. If I wasn’t so pissed at you; I might think this was really sweet. Where are you?
Screeching… a car landed on the ground 10 feet from me; the force of it throwing me to the ground again. I got up slowly; rattled from the shock.
I began running again; getting closer to my block.
Suddenly; a tank truck was blocking my path; crashing into a bus-shed. My heart was in my throat, and my chest hurt from having run so fast. I tried turning around, but a bus had crashed into an RV, blocking my path in both directions. I was trapped.
I looked up. The sky was covered in smoke from the many burning vehicles around me. The sound of a large crash made me look towards the truck. Something made the vehicle fall onto its side, and slide towards me with such speed that the shock of it made me fall.
I looked back – there was nowhere to run. In three seconds, I would be smashed between the truck and the bus.
Three… Oh God…
Two… Clark, where are you?
One.
A gush of wind; and I flew in to the air. No… I didn’t fly; I was lifted. My feet were dangling in the air; and one of my shoes fell of, landing on the ground hundreds of feet below me. Someone was holding on to me; his strong arms around my waist; and my chest pressed to his – which was adorned with a red S on a yellow background. What?
I let out a terrified whimper. “It’s ok. I’ve got you”, a warm voice said. I looked up into my saviors face. “Clark?”, I gasped. “Hi”, he said with a crooked smile. I opened my mouth to say something. “Don’t speak…”, he said. “The air is kind of thin up here”.
I looked down; and realizing how far up in the air we were, I panicked. I wrapped my arms around his neck and let out a weak squeal. “It’s ok, Red”, he chuckled. “I won’t let you fall”.
He set me down on the top of a building a few miles from the explosions. Once on stable ground, he held on to me for a second; making sure my legs would carry me. I stepped backwards, holding my hand up in front of me. “Y-you…”, I stuttered. He looked at me apologetically. “I know. I should have told you. It’s just… complicated”. He tried to smile.
I stumbled; and fell to my bottom. He took a tentative step forward. “I know. I get it. You’re scared”, he said. I shook my head. “No… it’s… you!”, I said.
He reached his hand out to me. “Please, let me help you up”. I gave him my hand; and he gently raised me to my feet. “Are you ok?”, he smiled. I simultaneously shook my head and nodded. “Yes?”. It was almost a question. He sniggered.
Suddenly I began laughing – the ridiculousness of the situation too comical. “I was supposed to fall off a building; not land on it”, I chuckled. He began laughing with me. “Yeah, I must have gotten those two mixed up”, he said. “It’s like I’ve said; I can’t say no to you”.
I sighed, and gently laid a hand on the S on his chest. “So… what now?”, I asked. He smiled. “I really want to continue what we started on that bench”. I chuckled and bit my lip. “Ok”.
He slid his arms around me – his tall and broad frame almost enveloping me – and I melted into his arms. His face came close to mine; and the last thing I saw before I closed my eyes; where his striking blue ones, boring deep into me.
He tensed up; and when I opened my eyes again, he was frowning, and turning his head, as if listening.
“I’m so sorry, Red; but I have to finish this”, he said. Another gush of wind; and he was gone. “Seriously?!”, I yelled after him.
I made my way down the skyscraper Clark had left me on; where I was met by the sirens of police cars, and people pointing at the sky. I was out of danger – I knew – but no less rattled. I was wearing a pump on one foot, and limping barefoot on the other; until I simply gave up; and took off the shoe – throwing it in a trashcan.
I walked all the way home; confused and dizzy. On my block, people were standing in the streets, murmuring to each other; and looking at the fires in the distance. It was as if there was line drawn through the city. On one side; havoc, and crashed cars – on the other, where I was… nothing. It was as if nothing had been touched.
One of my neighbors tried to stop me in the doorway; noticing the shell-shocked look on my face, and my bare feet. “Were you in that? Are you ok”, he asked. I shook my head. “I’m fine. It’s nothing”, I smiled.
I stumbled into my apartment; threw my jacket on the floor, and grabbed a beer from the fridge – plopping down on the couch.
Well… that was something…
Without anything else to do, I took a large swig of my beer; and turned on the television.
“… explosions in downtown Metropolis this evening; as terrorists connected to the incarcerated Lex Luthor, placed explosives on multiple vehicles, throughout the city…”
Footage of explosions, and scenes of police cars and firetrucks racing down the streets.
“… no casualties, due to the quick intervention of the group calling themselves The Justice League…”
A man who looked like Robocop, pointed at the camera, and the screen blurred. There was a flash of red; and just after it, footage of a group of men captured by a shiny lasso, held by a woman dressed like a Greek goddess. A burning building was drowned in water; and a smirking longhaired man – still hot… – was yelling booyah’s at it.
“… headed by the Batman; and Metropolis’ own Superman…”
I saw the Gotham Knight shaking hands with…
It was Clark. It was always him.
There was a knock at my door. When I opened it Clark stood outside. Not red and blue Superman – just my Clark; dressed in jeans; a plaid flannel; and wearing his glasses.
“Hi”, he said. “Hi”, I answered. “I brought you something”. He pulled out my black pump; the one I had dropped from the air. I chuckled. “Great, now I just need the other one”. He pulled out the other one as well. “It might smell a little. It was laying in a trashcan”. I took the shoes from his hands, and half smiled at him. “I have something of yours as well”, I said, and gave him back his phone, from my jacket on the floor. “Thanks”, he said. “The suit doesn’t really have pockets”.
He clenched his jaw. “Can I come in?”, he asked. I stepped aside, and he walked into my combined kitchen/living room. “You have a nice place”, he smiled. “Thanks”, I said quietly; as I closed the door behind him. His large frame seemed to fill the entire space. “Do you want a beer?”, I asked. He looked at me warmly. “Yeah, sure”. I handed him a cold one. “You can sit down”, I said. “Unless… you pulled a muscle flying me through the sky”.
He chuckled at me, and sat down on my couch. “No, I’m fine”, he smiled. I raised a brow; and sat down on the couch with him – leaving some space between us. “Right; you can lift buildings and stuff like that”, I muttered.
He exhaled, and took a swig of his beer. “Yeah… about that”, he began. “I was going to tell you”. “Why?”, I muttered. “It seems like something pretty big. I get why you’d want to keep it private. Have a… secret identity”.
He frowned. “I wanted to tell you, because I care about you. And I want you to be a part of my life… all of it”. I met his eyes. “Really”. I bit my lip. “You… care”, I said. He reached for my hand; and I let him take it. Our fingers linked into each other. “You’re funny; smart; passionate”, he said. “And you’re beautiful”.
I scrunched up my face in embarrassment. “Ok, now I’m uncomfortable”. “Why?, he said, and stroked my cheek; moving closer to me on the couch. I sighed. “Because you’re… you. The Superdude. You can see every flaw…”. “There isn’t a flaw on your body”, he smiled. I scoffed at him. “I’m serious! Every little thing… the wrinkle between your eyebrows when you’re concentrating… how your one hand is a little bit smaller than the other… that beauty-mark on your back…”. “How did you know about that?”, I interrupted. He smiled embarrassedly. “That loose fitting top you wore on our last date. The dark blue one”, he muttered. “I love all of it”. I half-smiled. “There’s actually two of them… the beauty-marks”, I said. “I didn’t want you to think I was creepy for looking”, he smirked.
“You love it?”, I mumbled. He swallowed. “Yeah, Red”, he said. “I mean… I’ve fallen hard for you”. I giggled nervously. “So, this is real…”, I muttered. “I want it to be”, he smiled. “Do you?”. I nodded, and looked at him through my lashes. “Yeah, I do”, I said.
He let out a relieved sigh, and chuckled “Good… Are you sure?”, he smirked. “I could introduce you to Arthur”. I frowned. “Arthur?”, I sneered. “In that case, never mind!”.
We laughed together; before Clarks face became apprehensive. “And…”, he couldn’t form the words. “Your other side?”, I said. He shook his head. “It’s not my other side. It’s me. It’s who I am”.
I squeezed his hand gently, and placed it on my knee. “I fell for you, without knowing everything you were”, I said. “What I know now… just makes you… better”. His eyes lit up. “Really?”, he half-whispered. “Yeah”, I smirked. “Besides; I kind of like how the suit makes your butt look”.
He raised his brows at me and laughed – putting his free hand to my cheek, and stroking my temple. “Oh!”, he said. “Well… yours isn’t half bad either”. I frowned. “Did you x-ray my pants?”, I asked; narrowing my eyes at him. He tightened his lips. “Not yet… do you want me to? I mean… I’m up for it”, he smiled, and moved his other hand up my thigh.
I chuckled; and put my hand on his cheek; pulling him closer. “Let’s do the kissing part first – we can get to what’s in my pants later”, I smirked. “Unless, of course, you have another superhero emergency you need to tend to".
He closed his eyes and listened; then opened them again. “Nah, we’re good”, he smiled; and his lips met mine.
He tasted like apple pie and sunshine.

The Rogers household for once, was reasonably quiet. It was a Saturday afternoon and both Jamie and Aurora were out with Bucky and Sam, leaving Katie and Steve with just Harry (and bump, which was still in the very small, early bump stages being 16 weeks or so). Katie was led on the sofa, Stark squashed alongside her on his back whilst she read a book and Steve was led on the rug with Harry, the pair of them drawing on a large piece of paper using the crayons that Stark hadn’t eaten.
The little boy was happily colouring along, grinning and talking to his Dad as he went, occasionally glancing up at ‘Moana’ which was playing on the TV, sometimes he would start to imitate the singing, causing Katie to glance up and watch him, smiling softly. Out of their three youngest kids, he had without doubt been the easiest one to deal with. He hardly ever cried or made a fuss, never complained, he was such a placid little boy. Steve and Katie had no idea who he took after as neither of them were known for their patience or calmness really. And frankly, compared to his sister who could be the biggest pain in the ass on the planet, it was a welcome change. Which was why they liked to make time for him on his own as when the other two were around, they demanded all the attention, something which Katie hated, and Steve knew was worrying her about when baby number four arrived.
But their peace was shattered as the security system alerted them to the fact the gate had been opened by “Bucky Barnes” and Steve glanced up at the clock. It was gone five, he hadn’t realised it was getting that late in the day. He let out a sigh, and exchanged a look with Katie who had placed her book down in preparation for the onslaught.
Which arrived a few minutes later as Jamie sauntered into the room, baseball cap perched on his head backwards, followed by Rori who was clutching a plastic bag in her hand, and contained in which was…
“Oh you are kidding me, right?” Steve nodded to the offending fish swimming around in small circles as Rori held it up grinning. He looked at Katie who was trying not to laugh as he shook his head. Rori had been asking the two of them for a fish for weeks and they had persistently said no but  surprise, surprise here she was with one.
“BUCKY! BUCKY!” Steve yelled as Harry grinned, joining in and clapping.
Buck appeared in the doorway, looking at Steve innocently whilst behind him Sam carried some form of small tank which held a pink castle and some other ornaments along with some food, gravel and a filter.
“I told you not to buy her a damned goldfish Bucky!” Steve looked at him, shaking his head
“I didn’t.” Bucky shrugged “I won her one.”
“Fisheee!” Harry said as he toddled over to Rori to get a closer look.
“That’s…that’s a technicality!” Steve spluttered before he looked at Sam who shook his head.
“I had nothing to do with this man.”
“Don’t lie Uncle Sam.” Jamie said, dropping onto the sofa, Stark licking his face “You helped Rori pick the tank in the pet store.” “Traitor” Sam narrowed his eyes at him.
“You,” Steve pointed at Bucky as he stood up from the rug, “are the biggest jerk ever, you know that?”
Bucky grinned innocently as Rori turned to Katie who examined the fish before she gave a shake of her head and sighed.
“Well it’s hre now so we might as well set the tank up.” And just like that, the Star Spangled Diva once more got her own way, as half an hour or so later, said bastard fish was safely in its new home, the tank sitting on the corner unit in the den where Steve had placed it once it had been filled and the ornaments arranged EXACTLY how Rori wanted them.
“I think we should call it Klaus.” Jamie nodded.
“What the hell kinda name is that?” Bucky looked at him.
“It’s the fish from American Dad.” Jamie shrugged.
“Okay. two things.” Steve looked at Jamie sternly. “One, me and your Ma told you that you were far too young to watch that and therefore were not allowed and two, I echo what Buck just said, what the hell kinda name is Klaus?”
“The fish can talk.” Jamie shrugged. “And he’s German, used to be a guy until the CIA turned him into a fish and-“ “Alright, just no.” Steve shook his head. The fish is not being called Klaus and if I catch you watching that again, I’m gonna take the plug off your TV.” “Oh come on dad, like you didn’t watch shows you weren’t allowed to when you were my age.” Jamie protested and Katie gave a snort.
“Yeah, like TV existed back then.”
Jamie frowned for a moment before a look of realisation spread across his face “Oh yeah!” “Most Exciting thing we saw was the ‘Wizard of Oz’.” Bucky said, nostalgically “Man, Technicolour…what a revelation.” “That’s so whack.” Jamie mumbled.
“Yeah, now you’re talking and I’m hearing words but,” Steve shrugged and grinned as Jamie aimed a dig at him which Steve easily dodged. The two began to play spar with one another, their laugher and exclamations getting louder until Rori cut across the noise as she moved her head from where she was looking at the fish in its tank. “I’m going to call her Dori.” she said. Steve stopped what he was doing, which allowed Jamie to land a punch to his arm, which in all fairness was pretty fucking hard.
“Ow…” He said, rubbing at the place Jamie’s knuckles at connected with his bicep and looked down at the 9 year old “Good shot son…” Jamie grinned and they all turned to where Rori was stood, Katie crouched down next to her as they both watched the fish. “What did you say Princess?”
“I said her name. Imma call her Dori, like in Finding Nemo and Finding Dori…” she shrugged “And it’s like my name…”
“Dori and Rori.” Katie grinned at her daughter “Hey, Finding Rori…gedddit?”
Rori grinned and Hi-Fived her Momma the pair of them laughing whilst Steve and Jamie exchanged a look.
“Nah, I think you should call it Dot.” Bucky said simply. Steve turned to look at him. “What? It’s orangey red…so was her hair…”
“No,it’s Dori” Rori corrected him.
“Dot is better.”
“Dori!”
“Dot!”
“MY FISH, MY NAME UNCLE BUCKY!” Rori stamped her foot. And Katie turned to look at her, a firm expression on her face but it was Steve that issued the warning.
“Aurora enough! And you…” he pointed at Bucky who grinned at him, “stop antagonising her.”
“Chaos, confusion, my work here is done.” Bucky grinned, giving Steve a salute. “Same time next week?”
******* It was a few weeks later when disaster struck…
“Steeeeeeve!” Katie’s yell hit his ears and he stiffened slightly, before he put down his mug and hurried out of the kitchen and into the den.
“What’s wrong?” he frowned. She simply pointed to the corner of the room where Dori’s tank sat and he saw the fish bobbing on the surface.
Dead
“Oh fuck.” He swallowed. “How did that happen?”
“Well, I’m no expert but I suspect the half disintegrated cookie at the bottom of the tank might be something to do with it.” Katie sighed.
“I told her not to feed it them.” Steve groaned.
“You’re gonna have to go get a new one.” Katie looked at him “Before she gets back because I can’t cope with a diva meltdown Steve, not today.”
“Me?” Steve looked at her
“Yes, you.” Katie said. “I was up all night as you know, I can’t stop puking, I’m tired and you’re not in today and…”
“Ok, ok.” Steve nodded, placating her as he dropped a kiss to her cheek “Right…leave it with me.” She smiled at him, leaned up to give him a kiss before she swept out of the den, Harry toddling behind her. Steve glanced at the dead fish before he pulled out his phone.
“S’up Punk?” Bucky greeted him.
“Me and you got a mission, a big mission.” Steve said, “Meet me at the Coffee shop in 30.”
And that’s how both World War 2 Veterans, the Captain and his Sergeant, ended up in a local Pet Shop an hour or so later with said dead fish in a Tupperware container, a very bemused assistant looking at them.
“I need one of these” Steve explained, showing the fish to him.
“You need a goldfish, Sir?” “Yeah but it needs to look exactly like this one.” Steve said.
“Ok, they all look similar…” the assistant began until Bucky cut him off. “No, you don’t know his daughter.” Bucky shook his head “When we say exactly the same, we mean, exactly the same…” Less than an hour later, Dori The Second was placed in the now cleaned tank, the 3 adults and Harry watching it carefully.
“Think she’ll notice?” Steve asked, looking at Katie.
“Hmmm, it looks the same to me.” she said. “Suppose we’ll find out later.” Steve was crapping his pants all day. And when he finally collected Rori from school, he was on tenterhooks until she headed into the Den after getting changed and having a juice box. He glanced at Katie, as the pair of them held their breath, and they thought they’d gotten away with it for a few minutes, until they heard her yell.
“Shit…” Katie mumbled, as they both headed into the room.
“Everything ok?”
“Why does Dori have a white spot on her tail?” Rori looked at her mom and dad.
“Where?” Steve frowned.
“There!” She exclaimed, pointing. Steve leaned down to look and there was the tiniest white spot on the tip of the fish’s tail, no bigger than a pin prick.
“Some fish get markings like that.” Katie said, her quick thinking kicking in “it might go again, or it might get bigger…maybe you should keep notes and some pictures, then you can track it.” “Oh, ok, yeah that sounds cool!” Rori grinned and Steve glanced at his wife, relief flooding his system.
A little later, once Jamie, Rori and Harry were in bed, Katie and Steve sat down to dinner.
“I can’t believe we pulled it off.” Steve sighed, spearing a piece of broccoli with his fork “I mean, of all the missions we’ve run…”
Katie chuckled, “You know, when I was a kid I had a goldfish. Tony got him for my 8th birthday, called him Flounder, you know after the fish in the little mermaid?”
“Yeah?” Steve looked at her.
She nodded “Yup. He lived for like 11 years…or rather I thought he did. On my 18th birthday Tony confessed that Flounder, who was at this point still alive, was in fact Flounder the 9th. He had in fact died 9 times and each time Tony replaced him without me knowing.”
Steve paused, his fork raised halfway to his mouth before he gave a groan. “So basically I’ve turned into Tony?”
“There are worse people you could have become.” Katie snorted as Steve shook his head, swallowing his food.
“Bucky is a dead man.” he sighed, “This is all his fault.” “Well he’d do anything for Rori.” Katie shrugged “She has the pair of you, and Sam for that matter, wrapped around her pinkie.”
“Wonder where she gets that from?” Steve looked at her “I mean, can you blame me? She’s basically Tony with your looks.”
A couple of hours later, after some TV and a cuddle on the couch, both of them decided to head to bed. It was still reasonably early but Katie was tired and Steve decided to go with her, he could watch TV in bed. They both checked on their kids, and Steve left Katie to tuck Harry in properly as he wandered over to Jamie’s room. He opened the door, Stark pushing in to take his customary place on the foot of the bed.
“Lights out pal.” Steve said gently as he dropped a kiss to his forehead. He reached for the remote, turning his son’s TV off as Jamie reached for his lamp, clicking the switch, leaving the only source of light as that which was coming from the hall way.  “Night buddy.” “Night…” Jamie said, before he spoke again just as Steve was about to leave the room. “I know you swapped the fish.” Steve turned back to look at him, shrugging “I don’t know what you mean.” “Mom’s right, you’re a terrible liar.” Jamie said and Steve could just make out his face, a smirk was playing on his lips “Don’t worry, I won’t tell Rori…if you give me twenty bucks…” “How about I don’t, and you still don’t or you’re grounded.” “Grounding me aint gonna reverse time and stop me telling her in the first place.” Jamie shrugged.
Steve blinked. He paused for a second, contemplating his options. He could come down like a tonne of bricks on the kid, which to be fair was very tempting, or he could take the easy way out which frankly, at that moment, was far more appealing. And so, Steve Rogers, the first Captain America, once-upon-a-time leader of the World’s Mightiest Heroes found himself reduced to bargaining with a blackmailing 9 year old. His blackmailing 9 year old to be precise.
You little shit.
“5 bucks.” Steve opened the negotiation.
“15.” shot back Jamie.
“10.”
“Deal.” Jamie grinned. “Night dad.” “Yeah, whatever…” Steve grumbled, closing the bedroom door behind him. He stopped dead as he saw Katie looking at him, her hands on her hips.
“Did you seriously just let him do that?” she shook her head.
“Do you wanna deal with a diva tantrum?”
“Steve, he just completely…”
“I know what he did, Doll.” Steve sighed, following her into their room “And for the record, this is on you.” “Me?”  she frowned as he reached out, his arms wrapping around her from behind, hands softly cupping her bump. “Yes, because that part of him that just blackmailed me, was his 50% Stark.” he said, placing a kiss to her neck.
Katie tilted her head and looked at him with narrowed eyes. He arched an eyebrow at her and she gave a snort, shaking her head. “Who knew that your own daughter would be your downfall.”
“She’s Tony but with your looks.” Steve shrugged “What do you expect?”
“Well,” Katie mused, “you said you’d give him 10 bucks but you didn’t say when. You can point this out to him tomorrow, if he wants it he can have it when he’s tidied his room.” “That’s…sneaky” Steve grinned.
“Fight fire with fire Soldier.” she smirked “You pointed out he’s half Stark, well, I’m 100% Stark, which means I can out Stark him all day long.”

Read at FFN
AN: 3 fanfics in a week who is she! Also I had to Google what color the indicator line on diapers were because I remembered it was yellow at the start, but I didn't remember what color it would turn when it was wet so that how long it’s been since I changed a diaper.
……………………………………………………………………
“Helena Meredith Karev born on November 26th at 5:36 am at 21 inches long and weighing at 8 lb 15 oz., just 1 oz short of 9 lb,” Alex announced as he spoke to Meredith on the phone.
“1 oz. short of 9 lb wow,” Meredith said in astonishment. “How's Jo recovering?”
“She's doing good. She and the baby are asleep right now.”
Alex looks over at the bassinet that was parked next to Jo's bed. Jo slept on her side with one hand in the bassinet on their daughter's chest. Jo’s abandonment issues had come up earlier and Alex noticed she was having a hard time letting Helena out of her sight. Her hand on Helena's chest in the bassinet was how Jo maintained contact with her daughter while getting some much needed rest.
“Good, now promise me you'll never tell Jo that her daughter almost weighed 9 lb. at birth,” Meredith insisted with a little laugh.
“What? Why not?” Alex said confused as he looked over the little note card posted on  Helena's bassinet that listed her weight and other details. “Jo knows how much she weighs.”
“Yeah, Jo knows Helena weighs 8 lb. and 15 oz., but when you say she almost weighs 9 lb it isn’t the same thing. Thinking of your baby as 8 lb vs 9 lb is different. No woman likes to be remembered how big their baby was and how hard it was to push them out unless you want Helena to be an only child.”
“Okay, I promise to say she weighs 8 lb. and 14oz. whenever Jo asks,” Alex said rolling his eyes at Meredith as he watched Jo shift in her sleep so her legs were more apart.
Watching Jo be in excruciating amounts of pain as she labored was hard for him, but he pushed it aside to be there to support his wife. Jo’s pain was to the point of which she was completely out of it, just going through the motions as she pushed their daughter into the world. Alex had watched quite a few women give birth, but it was different because it was Jo. He loved her and he hated seeing her in pain knowing that he had partially caused it.
When they had discussed having kids, Alex knew it would include a painful labor and that it would be hard on Jo and her body. Despite her training as an OB and numerous birth classes they had gone to, Jo didn't realize she was in labor until she was in active labor and they had to rush to the hospital. Alex knew that because of this experience Jo may not want to get pregnant again. If that was her decision, he would abide by it. Alex was happy because he was so absolutely content with the little girl in front of him.
“Congratulations, Alex,” Meredith said, breaking him out of his thoughts.
“You said that already,” Alex said although he didn't mind hearing it again.
“Yeah well, I'm going to say it again. Have you texted Cristina yet?”
“No, not yet and we haven't talked to too many people, apart from the video call earlier, I’ve just talked to you and my mom. It's hard to find the time. I just keep staring at her, and thank you Meredith for everything.”
“You mean for waking you up so you didn't miss your wife's labor, you're welcome.”
“Yeah that especially,” Alex said as he couldn't help but chuckle as he remembered the chaotic events of that morning. “I'll talk to you later, bye”
“Bye.”
Alex put away his phone and settled into the uncomfortable chair next to Jo’s bed. He thought that they'd make these chairs more comfortable considering that most second parents and family members usually ended up spending the night there, but apparently not. He would have to check the budget and see if they could upgrade the chairs. Despite how he was no longer the chief of surgery, Alex learned a lot, and he still occasionally found himself reverting to taking care of the business side of the hospital. Alex shuffled around trying to get comfortable but clearly, he was not sleeping in this chair that afternoon.
Alex watched over his girl. He smiled at the thought, his girls, he had a daughter. He had a child of his own and oh how he was in love with her. Helena squealed in the bassinet throwing her arms around and Alex was up in an instant. Her tiny face squished even further as she let out a single cry. Jo stirred next to her and he felt like he was in the middle of a complicated surgery.
Alex was quick to slip his hand under Helena as he took Jo's hand and put it next to her. He was cautious so as not to wake his sleeping wife and let her get the rest she deserved while also soothing their newborn. As soon as he put down Jo's hand and moved to cradle Helena, he stopped for a moment. Jo sighed but didn't move or wake up and he looked down at Helena who cried out again. Helena spread out her arms and continued to fuss. After a certain number of years, soothing babies became instinctual and Alex started to sway and shush.
“Shh, Shh, it's okay, Daddy's got you.” Alex smiled down at her as she stopped fussing and opened her eyes to look up at him.
Helena studied him for a moment, staring into his soul in the way only a baby could before she decided this wasn't what she wanted, and cried out again in that little uh fussy cry.
“Okay, okay,” Alex said, he looked back to the chair before he sat down and laid Helena on his knees. He undid the blanket intending to redo it into a proper swaddle. “Oh, I see what it is.”
Alex saw the full diaper and the blue line that indicated she had her first wet diaper. He was weirdly proud about it especially as it meant that her kidneys were functioning well and she was hydrated. “Okay, give me a second.”
Alex cradled her close to his chest as he got up and walked over to the drawers where they kept wipes and diapers. He got the supplies and went over to the changing table in the bathroom. He propped the door open in case Jo woke up as he didn't want her to panic when they were gone and got the changing table open.
“You know, I promised your mom I’d do all of these diaper changes since she carried you for nine months, basically built you from scratch, and just now endured quite a few hours of labor with you. She wanted an epidural you know, but she didn’t realize she was in labor. You gotta remind me to tease her about that later, but not until after her stitches heal, and you were eager to get here too huh?” Alex said to Helena as she continued to fuss a little bit more as he quickly changed her and got her settled in a fresh diaper.
Alex staring down at her as he pulled down the onesie Jo had put on her. He knew Jo like the ‘little turkey’ onesie, but it had buttons and buttons were always a struggle, even for a seasoned Ped’s doctor like he was. Alex resisted the urge to grab the other baby gown or even the one with the zippers as he finally did the last button.
“There we go, are we happy now?” Alex asked, Helena looked around and was content and wiggled around. He wrapped her up into a proper swaddle before he picked her up again, but she looked up at him and then cried out again, still not happy. “I know, I am not-mom right now aren't I.”
Alex quietly talked to her as he settled her in his arms and walked back into the room. He sat down in the recliner and started to rock back and forth. “I'm not-Mom. I'm not what you want, I know, we don't know each other yet, although you might recognize my voice. I've read you lots of stories while you were still in your mommy's belly. I even did a little bit of singing too, but don't tell anyone around here that.”
Alex settled into the movement of the chair as he looked down at Helena. She had stopped fussing and stared up at him again, seeming to take him in as she listened to his voice and he took that as a cue to continue.
“I guess now would be the proper time for an introduction. I'm your dad, most people call me Alex or Dr. Karev around here at the hospital. Your mom calls me Alex too, but she drags it out a little in a way that's pretty adorable. Your Aunt Cristina is going to call me Evil Spawn and your Auntie Mare might do it too. You've met her already, although you probably didn't notice. She was on the video called when you were born, but I remember how you and your mom only had eyes for each other. Your mom and I, we don't have a big bio family, but we do have lots of friends and they're our family. They all love you so much already, especially your cousin Ellis.”
Alex rambled off to her as Helena just watched him, and he took in his daughter. He never really saw familiar features in newborns. They always just looked similar, like babies and not much else. The features really didn’t come in until they were a little older and then you could say they look like one parent or the other. Yet, as Alex looked down at Helena he saw his chin and his crooked lips in the way that she frowned as she cried. She looked like Jo too, she had Jo’s cute little cheeks and her eyes. Although she looked like an even mix of them now, he could tell that she was going to be a little tiny Jo running around their house. They joked about how they'd never be able to say no to their kid, and Alex knew that with just one look from Helena and he would melt like snow in the sun. His daughter would always be the bright spot in his day.
Helena's eyes started to droop, but she would occasionally blink them open. As if she was fighting sleep as much as Jo did. “You are already so much like your mother. She does that same thing too, you know. When we watch movies on the couch with Reese's, you haven't met him yet and he just knows you as the thing that keeps him from sitting on Mommy's lap. It might be a while before you two become friends, but you’ll like him too.”
Alex rocked her as she fell asleep in his arms and it made him feel some weird sense of accomplishment because his kid fell asleep in his arms. He knew from experience that getting a baby back to sleep was no easy feat. He continued to hold her, not ready to put her back down again. He wasn't sure if he'd ever be ready to put her down and he knew why Jo was hesitant to do so as well. He just sat there and rocked his daughter and held her and patted her back.
“Anyway, Saturday nights are movie nights and your Mommy always curls up in my lap and puts her head on my chest. She always says she'll stay up and watch the whole movie,” Alex said as he leaned closer to whisper to Helena. “But she never does.”
“That's not true,” Jo whispered and Alex looked up to see her smile from where she was curled up in bed.
She must have been watching them for a little while and he smiled back at her. A sense of relief filled his mind as she had woken up without panicking for the first time and he tried to remain calm as he smiled back at her.
“It is true, you always fall asleep just, like clockwork before the end credits.”
“I didn't fall asleep when we watched that one really bad horror movie.”
“Yeah because it scared the crap out of you. I had to turn it off because you started crying.”
“No, we had to turn it off because Reeses wouldn't stop barking at it.”
“Okay Princess,” Alex said, smiling as she raised her eyebrows at him and he chuckled as he got up and walked over to sit on her bed. The second he sat down Jo reached out, and he thought she was going to take Helena, but instead, she smacked the side of his arm. “Hey, I've got precious cargo here.”
“She’s fine and you can't use our daughter as a shield to protect you against my wrath,” Jo teased with a smirk of her own. She carefully sat up and Alex's smile faded as she grimaced when she moved.
“Is your ice pack still cold? Do you want me to get you a new one or something?”
“No, I think I bled through the pad again.”
Jo pulled back the blankets and he was relieved to see that there were no bloodstains on the sheets. Jo carefully got up out of bed and Alex put Helena down in the bassinet.
“No, just hold her, I’ll be fine,” Jo said, waving him off.
“Jo, let me take care of you,” Alex insisted as he watched Helena for a second to see if she’d fuss before he went over to help his wife.
Alex put his arm around her and grabbed the IV pole as they took small and wide steps over to the bathroom. Jo let go of his waist as she stepped into the bathroom and grabbed the peri bottle and her other supplies. Alex got out a new ice pad and activated it, shaking it up before he felt it cool in his hand. He handed it to her before she waved him off again.
“Just let me help you, Jo. I know it hurts you to whip and…”
“Alex,” Jo said, slightly annoyed as she cut him off. “You can change our daughter's diapers, not mine. I got this.”
“Are you sure, because honestly, I don't mind,” Alex argued, he wasn't sure how much she would let him take care of her, but he wanted to do this for her. If she let them.
“Alex, today multiple people, several of whom are my coworkers, have seen me naked on a bed pushing out a baby. I need a moment of privacy,” Jo said, holding her hand out to block him from coming close.
Alex nodded and took a step back. He made a big thing about covering his eyes and turned around to go back out into the room, bumping into the doorway as Jo laughed behind him. He smiled as it didn't hurt that much and hearing her laugh after her tears earlier felt good. Alex rubbed his forehead as he went back into the room and picked up Helena again, knowing Jo would want to hold her the second she was back in bed.
Alex looked down at her and smiled, completely smitten. From the moment Jo told him she was pregnant, he was over the moon. He had seen how parents had fallen in love with their child and he felt that love the moment Jo was pregnant. The moment Carina had placed their daughter on Jo’s chest. It was like his heart burst with love and happiness. It was so overwhelming and utterly consuming. He loved his daughter more than he could describe.
He had taken care of babies his entire life. His mom had started to slip just after Amber turned one so the majority of her care fell to him. He practically raised Amber and Aaron until they were all put in foster care. After Amber got sick and had to go to the hospital and the state finally stepped in. After that, he took care of his mom throughout high school and college up until the day he got the job and flew out to the then Seattle Grace Hospital. Even then he sent money and hired someone to check on her. When it came to his career, he wanted to go into plastics, but somehow he ended up in Peds and he was good there.
He took care of thousands of babies over the years and in caring for them he loved them. Alex watched their parents love them more than anything in the world, and he got a bit of that love when it came to Meredith’s kids. They were his nieces and nephew and he loved them like they were his own because they were family, but he still didn't experience the kind of love a parent had for their child, until the moment his child was there. It was all he could think about. She was all-consuming in a way that he could just stare at her for hours.
It wasn't until he really succeeded at being a Peds doctor that he knew he could be a dad. Even though it still terrified him. Every injured kid that walked through the door he could see being his kid. He went home to Jo and put his hands on her belly and he worried. Alex worried about all the possible complications, diseases, and injuries that their kids could get. Even now staring down at her, he knew she was perfect. Her APGAR score was a 10, she had good reflexes, and she was eating and wetting her diapers, and she was perfect, but he still worried. He was so lost in thought that he even noticed Jo had come up behind him until she pressed up against him and they stared down at their daughter.
“She's perfect, Alex,” Jo whispered to him, kissing his cheek. She had always been able to since his worries.
“Yeah, she is,” Alex said as he put his arm around her as they both stared at Helena completely in awe of their daughter.
Jo moved to get back in bed and Alex helped her up, despite how she protested. After she was settled, Alex placed Helena in her arms before Jo could even ask.
“Thank you,” Jo whispered, cradling her close.
They both continued to stare down at her and Alex sat back down in the chair and scooted closer to their bedside. Helena’s little eyes fluttered open, but she didn't cry as she stared up at Jo who smiled down at her. Completely smitten as well.
“Yeah, that’s Mommy isn’t it,” Alex said reaching out and putting his hand on Jo’s knee. Jo didn't even glance up at him, she just smiled down at Helena.
In the past nine months, he had watched Jo go through so many emotions, as he watched her become a mother. Everything she did was to care for their daughter. He knew that Jo was terrified about becoming a mom when they first started talking about kids years ago. She knew the heartache of a bad childhood because she lived it. She was terrified of her genes and she wanted a career first so he waited patiently for her to be ready.
Watching her with their daughter in just the past few hours Alex thought she was the best mom in the world, although he might be a little biased. Jo was so good with her, the second Helena fussed or cried, Jo would pick her up. She was so attentive to their daughter and so loving, Alex couldn't help but just watch them together.
“Daddy is staring at us,” Jo giggled as she looked up and caught him.
Alex smiled completely unashamed. “What can I say, I'm awestruck by the two beautiful girls in front of me, my girls.”
“Your girls,” Jo smiled before she realized something and giggled. “Alex Karev has a daughter.”
“Oh God,” Alex said, putting a hand over his face as he realized the karmic payback that was coming to him.
“With your luck, she’ll probably be crazy for whatever gender she ends up liking,” Jo laughed putting her hand on his arm as the color drained from his face.
“No, no, she is a baby. We're not talking about this,” Alex said, shaking his head.
“She's not going to be a baby forever,” Jo said as she tilted her head and smiled at him, clearly enjoying torturing him.
“No, but she is a baby right now, a newborn and she's going to stay that way,” Alex said looking down at Helena and rubbing her little cheek.
Jo giggled again as she leaned forward and reached her hand out to wrap around his neck and pull in for a kiss. Alex let himself linger on Jo's lips as she smiled against his lips. Helena squealed and they parted with a laugh as they looked down at their daughter who stared up at Jo. Jo traced her finger down Helena’s cheek as she rocked her and Alex smiled at his girls. Yeah, this was perfect.

“Yero, did you wrap the presents for Nessa and Boq yet?”
Elphaba hovered over the cradle, gently swinging it back and forth whilst making silly faces and babbling nonsense at the child nestled inside. At just twelve months old, Liir was amused by everything. His big, green eyes glimmered in the light from the fireplace, his mouth in the shape of a small o. He wrapped his tiny fingers around Elphaba’s index and cooed.
“Yeah! I got them right here-”
He cursed slightly above a whisper when he stumbled into the living room and nearly tripped over his own feet.
“Fiyero!” Elphaba scolded. “Not in front of him! I don’t want his first words to be foul.”
“Sorry,” Fiyero sheepishly chuckled and set the presents under the tree. “It’s not like he can understand what I’m saying. Isn’t that right, little buddy?”
He squatted down and blew raspberries into his soft belly, making him squeal and giggle. Elphaba playfully rolled her eyes, brushing back the short, dark curls that fell over Liir’s forehead. She pinched his chubby cheek and got up to look at the haphazardly wrapped gifts Fiyero placed below the tree.
“... Please tell me there’s still left over wrapping paper.”
Fiyero looked over his shoulder, still in the midst of a tickle fight with Liir. “Hm? You don’t like the way I wrapped the presents?”
“Yero, I say this with all the love in my heart... it looks like you layered the paper around the box several times and slapped a ribbon atop it.”
He feigned offense. “Fae! How could you? I’m wounded by your horrendible words!”
“Oh Fiyero…” She sighed defeatedly.
“I’m kidding... Come on, what difference does it make? They’re going to be ripped apart tomorrow— why stress out over how the wrapping paper looks?”
“It shows that we put some thought into their gifts and didn’t wrap them up at the last second.” She stripped away a piece of excess tape stuck to the shiny emerald paper.
“Well, we technically did- but they’ll get over it once they see what they get. I can already hear Glinda screaming for joy when she opens hers.”
Elphaba rearranged the small, pink gift bag that contained the jewelry set for the petite blonde. It was true, they both put a lot of thought into what they planned to gift their loved ones.
“Well… I suppose you’re right,” She smiled up at him. “Thank you for wrapping the presents, Fiyero.”
“You’re welcome,” Fiyero walked over to her, Liir in his arms. “I must be the luckiest man in Oz to have the most patient wife, right Liir?”
Liir babbled nonsense in response.
“See? He agrees.” Fiyero planted a sweet kiss on her cheek.
“Of course he does, he has my brains.” She quipped.
“Oh ha-ha...”
They took a moment to gaze at the tree. Liir’s eyes twinkled at the dozens of multicolored lights glowing on the branches. His tiny hands reached out to grab an ornament doll made of tin. Elphaba gently pulled his wrist back before he inevitably put it in his mouth.
“Y’know… this’ll be the only time we’ll have for ourselves,” He placed his hand on her shoulder. “Tomorrow will be one big day of festivating with the others.”
Elphaba hummed in agreement, stroking his cheek affectionately.
“-Hey, what do you say we celebrate a little early— just the three of us?” He suggested.
Elphaba looked at him, perplexed. “You mean… open our presents right now?” She quirked an eyebrow in doubt. “Shouldn’t we wait for everyone until tomorrow morning as courtesy?”
“No, no- just one present each!” Fiyero assured. “It’s a huge pile, no one’s gonna notice if a box or two is missing. Besides, with all the guests in one room, how will I get to see the absolute look of joy on your face when you open my gift?” He lightly squeezed Liir’s cheek and spoke in an adoring voice, “-and our boy has been good all year round! Well, aside from throwing up all over my dress shirt last week.”
“Oh, he didn’t mean to do that,” Elphaba smooched her son’s temple. “Maybe papa shouldn’t have spun you in the air right after you ate.”
Fiyero winced at the statement. “Alright, that was on me- but the point is he deserves one early gift tonight!” Speaking in his baby voice, he smiled down at Liir. “You wanna see what Lurline brought you this year?”
Not comprehending any of his words, Liir incoherently blabbered. Fiyero took that as an agreement and plucked something out from the tiniest stocking hanging above the fireplace. He hid it behind his back as he returned, bending his knees to be at eye level with the child.
Fiyero presented a plush doll: a cutesyfied monkey with small wings stitched to his back and a friendly smile. “Look! This is for you!”
Elphaba played up her excitement at the toy, lightly bouncing Liir in her arms and coaxing him to look at it. The young boy looked unfamiliar with it at first, not sure what it was exactly. When his mother didn’t stop his tiny hands from touching it, he grasped it. A slow smile grew on his face, followed by giggles.
“Happy Lurlinemas, Liir.” Fiyero kissed his cheek.
“Say thank you to papa,” Elphaba encouraged. The infant was far too preoccupied with his new toy to even acknowledge her. “I guess we’ll have to work on expressing gratitutions later…”
“He’ll learn.” Fiyero promised. He beamed brightly and ruffled his messy, raven hair.
“Well, since we’re at it,” Elphaba carefully handed Liir over to him. “I’ve got something I hope you’ll like.”
“Fae, you could give me a pebble as a gift and I’ll love it.”
She leaned down and reached behind the tree. “That’s quite the reassurement, but I promise I got you something one step above a pebble,”
Wrapped in shiny emerald paper with a gold bow on top, Elphaba handed him a small box. “Happy Lurlinemas.”
Fiyero eagerly took it and lightly shook the box next to his ear. He handed Liir back to her and tore it open, revealing a gold wrist watch with a green dial. There were five, smaller sub-dials inside the watch, each one labeling the time of day for all the provinces in Oz.
“Elphaba…” Fiyero carefully held the watch in his hand, examining it in pure adoration. “This is... I can’t even begin to describe it-”
“Do you like it? I wasn’t sure if it was something you’d wear daily.”
“Elphaba, I love it! It’s beautiful! Thank you, my dearest.” He placed a peck on her lips. With her help, he secured the watch around his wrist and basked in its glory. “-Speaking of which, I’ve been waiting all year to see your reaction to what I’ve got for you.”
“Is that so?” Elphaba watched him scour through the presents until he said “Aha!” when he found a medium sized box.
“Here...” Fiyero sat cross legged on the floor. Elphaba followed suit and passed Liir over to sit on his lap, taking the somewhat heavy box in her hands
“What’s this?” Her brown eyes lit up with curiosity.
“Open it and see for yourself!” Fiyero grinned.
A smile grew on Elphaba’s face. She tore away the gold wrapping paper, revealing a wooden box. Confused, she unlocked the latch and opened the lid. When she removed the bright blue fabric on top of her gift, she gasped in disbelief.
They were ruby slippers. Nearly identical to the silver slippers her sister owned. Elphaba had once brought up to Fiyero the time her father gifted Nessa the priceless pair of shoes as a parting gift at Shiz. While she did not care for extravagant shoewear, she remembered how hurt she felt when Frex didn’t give her something as little as a postcard.
At the time, it felt like a stab to the heart, seeing Nessa look so beautiful and elegant in her new slippers while Elphaba lugged around in worn out boots like a beggar. It was a painful reminder of how low she thought of herself before she found the people she loved the most in life.
Elphaba couldn’t hold back her tears, her fingers hovering over the red jewels. “Yero… I- I don’t know what to say.”
“You don’t have to say anything…  your face speaks a thousand words.”
Elphaba placed the shoes to the side and frantically wrapped her arms around him. Fiyero placed a hand on the small of her back, laughing wholeheartedly at the kisses she planted all over his face.
Below them, Liir cried out. Elphaba cupped his cheek and placed soft kisses on his tender face as well.
“Oh, I didn’t forget about you.” She spoke sweetly, smothering him in kisses.
“Happy Lurlinemas to my most beautiful wife and son.” Fiyero said.
“Your only wife and son.” Elphaba teased.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
He helped her remove her booties and slipped her shoes on. They were the perfect fit, comfortably tailored to her size. She stared at them in admiration, once more thanking her husband with kisses.
The pair spent their evening playing with their child, enjoying the sacred time they had together.

Thanks for reading! I’m sorry this is probably not my best work and that it was posted a little late in the season. This was mostly a self-indulgent fluff fic I’ve been meaning to write since I see so little of the Thropp/Tiggular + Liir family dynamic. I’m also technically still a little new to publishing fiyeraba fics that maintain their characters. Bear with me please haha ;;
Thank you again to Emma for the beautiful art! Show your love by reblogging and commissioning her if you can!
