Blood Moon AU!! Part 1 - Nobles
Time for a second major AU yayy!! I’m still working on Millennium AU as usual, though I want to get started on another one that’s been on my mind since years ago but never really got the chance to put on paper.
So here we are. I’m calling this Blood Moon AU. The nobles and werewolves basically have a race swap in an almost brand new setting. Lukedonia and werewolf island still exist; it’s the characters that have changed.
All characters reference their canon counterparts to various degrees. Some are similar or even near identical to the original, while some are vastly different. This could apply to names, looks, personalities, heritage/family, moral alignment… etc. It’s gonna be fun! I’m going to let myself get crazy with this and change things up quite a bit, haha.
As for the story. To be completely honest, at this point I just want to start off this new AU as more of a simple artistic approach. Right now I’m much more interested in designing and drawing the characters rather than writing the story itself. Maybe I’ll come up with something much later but it won’t be nearly as complicated as Millennium AU, and it’ll be fairly straightforward. Even then, I don’t want to rush it so that’s for the future. If I end up liking this new AU more than I do right now, maybe I’ll give the story an honest shot and turn it into more of a long-term project, but time will tell.
(Fyi “Noblesse” does not exist in the world. Too early for details but they either never existed, are a now permanently extinct special type of noble, or they simply peaced out and ditched Earth and returned to their special heavenly realm… etc. Honestly doesn’t matter. In this AU’s setting, they are absent. “Raizel” and his brother do exist but they’re both human. Actual normal human beings, with a normal life, currently students at a normal high school, stuff like that. Just your average human. The trio are also unmodified normal human beings. They are scattered across the world and never meet each other. Basically, unlike their canon counterparts, their existence is minimal and contribute to almost nothing in this universe. It’s weird, I know! That’s just how this AU is set up)
I’m going to split the noble and werewolf characters into two parts. Doing the (originally werewolves) nobles first! Posting the werewolves in a future post aka. part 2.
The characters!
Lucretia Natalina “Lunark” Drosia: Leader of the Drosia Clan. Kendrick’s twin, and on-and-off lovers with Julius. A rather carefree woman who is primarily interested in having fun, and shows little to no concern for the future of Lukedonia as a whole. When it comes to her people, she is a decent Clan Leader and manages her family efficiently. Lucretia’s efforts only apply to her clan, and her interests in other noble affairs are almost nonexistent. She has a habit of ditching meetings and whatnots. Sometimes, she even tries to ignore the Lord’s summons but ends up going anyway because her lovely daughter makes her show up. The only thing that can get Lucretia’s blood pumping with true passion is an offer to spar. Lucretia is an excellent fighter. People have to be very careful to not interrupt her fights unless they want to unleash her wrath, because she hates it when people invite themselves into her business. She also likes to flirt with her opponents during spars. Lucretia has a bit of a weird relationship with Julius, who is the father of her daughter. They seem to have positive feelings for each other, but that’s only when both of them are very bored and have nothing better to do.
Kendrick Tian-Chen “Kentas” Ru: Leader of the Ru Clan. Lucretia’s twin. A prideful, stubborn man who believes that the stronger should rule the weak. Like his sister Lucretia, he likes to fight and enjoys a good spar. Sometimes, people can choose to settle a quarrel with Kendrick by offering to spar with him and he would gladly accept. You can trust him, because he’s a man of his word. No more grudges, no hurt feelings. Done. In a way, he’s quite simple. Unlike his sister, Kendrick does care about the future of Lukedonia. He has a strong moral code of his own, but that can be overridden by his belief of submitting to the strong. That is why Kendrick is extremely loyal to their Lord and never questions him even if the latter makes some controversial decisions. As of now, Kendrick has no children.
Marcus Duruvan “Maduke” Siriana: Leader of the Siriana Clan. Erica’s older brother, and the Lord’s advisor. The only person who truly has everyone’s best interests at heart. You can say he’s the most “good person” leaning guy in this entire AU. Marcus is quite worried about the future under their Lord’s reign. Life is pretty comfortable inside Lukedonia, which is by itself very isolated from the rest of the world. However, Marcus foresees the destruction of planet earth if no one stops the Lord, since the latter doesn’t care about other races and is only concerned with the prosperity of nobles. Though, he doesn’t want to overthrow the Lord and instead wants to convince him to step away from his current path of darkness. He believes there is still hope. Simultaneously, Marcus is secretly gathering followers and supporters who all share his beliefs and formed his own organization. Together they work to transport resources out of Lukedonia and deliver them to humans and werewolves in need because the Lord refuses the share.
Marcus is struggling to plan for the future of the Siriana Clan, in case the Lord gets tired of him and decides to kill him one day for “meddling” too much, because his younger sister Erica is insane and cruel which makes her the worst possible candidate for the next Clan Leader of Siriana. Marcus loves her, but also fears her. He doesn’t know what she is capable of. Marcus is trying to look for ways to bypass his sister and hopefully be able to hand over both his position and Soul Weapon to another pure-blooded Siriana who isn’t his sister.
Marcus had a son, but he was assassinated sometime after his coming-of-age ceremony and now Marcus is once again childless and without an heir. To this day no one can figure out who the culprit is.
Erica Siriana: Marcus’ younger sister, and next-in-line for the position of Siriana Clan Leader. Wife of Lord Maximilian, and mother of Ashlynn. Erica is a ruthless, bloodthirsty woman. She is actually the person who orchestrated her nephew’s assassination. She made sure he was killed, then got rid of his killers, whom she sent, with her own hands. No one is going to suspect a thing and they’ll never find out no matter how hard they try. Erica did this to eliminate brother Marcus’ heir so she can regain her position as first-in-line. She’s been after her nephew ever since he was born, but waited for two whole centuries before doing the deed. To Erica, she’s just getting back what she’s entitled to, which is the full power, control, and privileges of a Clan Leader. Marcus is trying to be discreet but if Erica ever finds out that her brother intends to bypass her and give his position and Soul Weapon to someone else, she might actually just kill him and take over the clan immediately. Erica is truly a terrifying, power-hungry woman who will do anything to reach her goals. She does not care for anyone aside from her daughter Ashlynn and husband Maximilian, whom she genuinely loves. As messed up as Erica is, she is capable of being very loving and committed to whom she treasures. She and her husband are absolutely addicted to each other and he would let her do anything her heart wishes for, even if she continuously breaks Lukedonian laws.
Vivienne Branwen Di Ashlynn: Name means “lively and blessed raven of dreams”. Daughter of Erica Siriana and Lord Maximilian, and the next Lord of Lukedonia. On the surface, Ashlynn isn’t as straightforward as her mother despite their similarities. Ashlynn is just as ruthless and bloodthirsty as Erica, but the former puts on a facade in front of her people and pretends to be a sweet, altruistic future Lord. The perfect angel princess. And she’s very successful at it. Ashlynn is energetic, talkative, and empathetic around her subjects. She always tells them about how she wants her father to teach her power so she can protect not only her subjects, but also people around the world so they don’t have to suffer from hunger and war. In reality, she doesn’t care about any of them and she honestly thinks of them as a burden. They’re nothing more than cockroaches to her, and she’s only doing this because she enjoys deceiving her people and pulling on their puppet strings. She welcomes the love and respect they give her, and at the same time pities them for not knowing better, for she’s had them fooled this entire time. The world is her stage, and she’s the center. Ashlynn only drops her act and returns to her true self around her parents, who not only tolerate, but also accept and even encourage their daughter’s behavior. Well, their entire family is insane. Erica and Maximilian are totally overindulging Ashlynn while being completely aware of the fact that she is just as insane as them with no attempt to correct her, because she’s their little princess and hey, if she wants the world, then they’ll give it to her. Like Erica, Ashlynn doesn’t care about anyone who isn’t her family. Ashlynn loves both of her parents to the moon and back, and she might as well kill anyone who dares to speak ill about either of them. No one is allowed to disrespect them in front of her. Not a single word.
Ashlynn has a crush on Dominic and wants him for herself one day.
Eutimio Friedrich Di Maximilian: Name means “good-spirited and peaceful ruler of the greatest”. The current Lord, husband of Erica Siriana, and father of Ashlynn. Maximilian firmly believes that nobles are the most supreme beings to exist on this planet, and that they have a right to rule over every other species. Humans, werewolves, whatever… well, for now he’ll let them be for as long as they’re still useful. He won’t hesitate to unleash his power on them if he loses his patience. From a world view, Maximilian would be categorized as “evil”, but he doesn’t think of himself as such. In fact, he believes that he is doing good for his people, who are his priority. Which is true from a certain perspective, especially to the nobles who share their Lord’s vision. To them, Lord Maximilian is the greatest Lord in all of noble history. To others who strongly disagree with him, he is the most terrifying and coldblooded Lord in existence. Maximilian is only concerned with the prosperity of Lukedonia and doesn’t quite welcome the idea of distributing resources with the rest of the world. He doesn’t want the nobles to simply exist alongside other species; he’ll make sure the nobles are on the very top of the food chain. Everyone else is irrelevant and they’re all at his mercy. Generally, opinions are very divided and you either side with him, or you don’t. Life is very, very comfortable inside Lukedonia, and indeed, to some nobles, that is all they care about. Those with more empathy see beyond the obvious and are concerned with what goes on outside Lukedonia. The thing with Maximilian is that despite showing neither mercy nor any sign of remorse for his deeds in the outside world, he is actually quite lenient and loving with his subjects. You can say he has two extreme sides to him. He’s very kind to his nobles, but only them. He doesn’t mind if Lucretia skips meetings; he’d let her be. Or when his servants make mistakes, when someone does something offensive, etc... it’s alright, no big deal. In a way, Maximilian’s Lukedonia is teeming with freedom like never before under the rule of his predecessors. This is where Marcus comes in. He is just nervous and overthinking about getting killed if he says the wrong thing, but in reality Maximilian doesn’t mind voices of objection. He’s not going to give anyone a treason sentence or kill them for saying what they really think of him. You can tell him you disagree with him, he’ll just shrug it off and laugh. Say all you want, he knows you’re trying to persuade him, he doesn’t care. He’ll just keep doing what he’s always been doing. Maximilian knows he’s the Lord, and ultimately it is his decision to make. Just don’t let Ashlynn know, because she’ll come after your head if she figures out that you had doubts about her precious Daddy.
Maximilian is a very loving husband and father to his family. He is obsessed with them just as much as they are obsessed with him. On a personal level, while Maximilian himself doesn’t crave for the blood of his own kind like his wife and daughter do, he doesn’t mind letting them do whatever they want for the funs and thrills. Erica and Ashlynn are free to break the law all they want. Though, they’re smart and strategic with it and don’t commit murder in broad daylight. Still, Maximilian is aware of his beloveds’ occasional killings, and he lets them be. He’s the type of person who would let them burn down the entirety of Lukedonia to nothing more than a pile of ash if that is what they wish to do. It’s no big deal, he’ll just rebuild Lukedonia to be even grander and more luxurious than before! To Maximilian, they are the only two existences in this world to come before Lukedonia. How sweet.
Zivon Tradio: Leader of the Tradio Clan. An elderly sorcerer who is quite the hard worker, and spends most of his time studying existing spells as well as coming up with new ones. He’s from the previous generation of nobles, and he stayed behind because he’s just too damn cool to die. Just kidding, his love for magic is why he’s still rocking it. It’s still too early! Zivon’s ultimate goal is to push the boundaries of noble magic and to create what has never been seen before. A true spectacle to behold. Zivon is one of Lord Maximilian’s favorite subjects and the latter even has an entire wifi system built and set up in Lukedonia as a gift just because the former has the hobby of streaming and likes being an “influencer”or whatever the humans call it. Zivon is quite an internet celebrity and Lord Maximilian is supportive of his work of “spreading superior noble influence over humans”. Zivon is also Princess Ashlynn’s tutor, who calls him “teacher”.
As of now, Zivon has no children.
Julius Loyard: Leader of the Loyard Clan. On-and-off lovers with Lucretia. An elegant man who is well-received by his fellow nobles. Julius is a man of few words and usually doesn’t express himself beyond the bare minimum required to be polite. While Julius does admit to enjoying the lavish lifestyle that was a gift from the Lord to all nobles, he is beginning to see why this is a problem for beings outside Lukedonia and starts to sympathize with them. It isn’t easy for him immediately to give up what he’s been used to all these years, but he’s starting to steer away from that lifestyle in support of the less fortunate. Julius was one of the first members to join Marcus’ secret organization of smuggling resources out of Lukedonia to help those in need. Currently, he’s responsible as the leader of the food distribution sector. In his free time, Julius is a jewelry designer and Lord Maximilian is a fan of his work.
Julius’ heir is his son whom he had with Lucretia. He is fond of her but doesn’t entirely agree with her rather carefree personality. They seem to have positive feelings for each other, but that’s only when both of them are very bored and have nothing better to do.
Giada Agvain: Leader of the Agvain Clan. Like Kendrick, she is extremely loyal to their Lord. She’s been by his side since the beginning, and they are childhood friends. Everyone knows that Giada used to feel one-sided love for the then-Maximilian and now Lord Maximilian, but what they don’t know is that she is still in love with him. Well, maybe it’s better for them to continue to believe that she has gotten over him. It’s not like he’ll ever like her back anyway, and you’ll never know what Princess Ashlynn will do if she finds out that anyone other than her precious Mommy is “coveting” her beloved Daddy. Giada is one of the few people who knows about Ashlynn’s true nature despite the latter’s angelic facade. While Giada does love Max on a personal level and is loyal to him, she doesn’t agree with his actions. She is also one of the first members of Marcus’ organization. Currently, Giada is responsible as the leader of the money distribution sector. In her free time, Giada tends to a small spider lily garden.
Giada’s heir is her daughter whom she had with an unnamed noble woman.
Dominic Raffaello “Dorant” Blerster: Leader of the Blerster Clan. A calm and rational man who remains unfazed in extreme situations. He is also the youngest to become Clan Leader, because his mother and predecessor saw so much potential in him, she passed over her title and Soul Weapon to him as soon as he came of age. Dominic pretends to be fairly neutral, and most people think he isn’t dedicated to anything or anyone, but he’s actually Lord Maximilian’s right hand man in the shadows. On the surface, he is simply Clan Leader of the Blersters and does a good job of managing his clan. When he no longer needs to act as Clan Leader, Dominic goes to the castle and reports everyone’s moves to his Lord. Dominic is actually a member of Marcus’ secret organization and oversees the medical distribution sector… as a double agent. His allegiance is with the Lord and he’s only there to watch what everyone else is doing to report back to his master. That includes a long list of who is working with Marcus, what resources they have been smuggling out of Lukedonia, who is on the receiving end… etc. Every. Single. One. So Lord Maximilian is very much aware of Marcus’ “betrayal” thanks to Dominic. Curiously, Lord Maximilian tells Dominic to just let them be. Perhaps he finds this to be amusing. Nobody knows what he’s thinking. Dominic, on the other hand, is in total awe of his Lord for his immense generosity for the “traitors” even though they clearly don’t deserve it.
Dominic doesn’t know that Ashlynn has a crush on him.
As of now, Dominic has no children.
Undine Mergas: Daughter of the leader of the Mergas Clan. A woman with a short temper who is also easily provoked. Undine’s father, the current Mergas Clan Leader, believes that she is unfit to become Clan Leader due to her personality and tendencies to boss the knights around instead of being a responsible and respectful leader like she is supposed to, but he is hopeful that she will change one day. Undine is best friends with Mimi and the two of them are almost always seen together. On one of her travels to the outside world, Undine met a human named Michael Travis Osborn by chance and she has had a crush on him ever since. He’s pretty cute. Maybe the Lord will let her capture him and bring him back to Lukedonia, she thinks.
Mimi Elenor: Daughter of the leader of the Elenor Clan. A woman with a similar personality to her best friend Undine, but less impulsive and more calm. That’s why they get along and are best friends because they have much in common. Mimi has an older brother so she likely won’t become the next Elenor Clan Leader, but she’s fine with that. In fact, she’s glad she won’t become Clan Leader because all those responsibilities, hassles, sitting in meetings all day, blah blah blah… ew, just too much work. She just wants to have fun, so her brother better be competent so she won’t have to bother with her clan at all. Mimi, like Undine, also has a crush on Michael Travis Osborn. They chat about how cute he is. Both of them want to capture him and bring him into Lukedonia. They’re thinking about discussing this with the Lord. If Lord Maximilian hears about this, he’d approve of the capture and tell them to go ahead and enjoy themselves because of course he wants all of his nobles to get their hands on everything they wish for. Plus, these two remind him of his daughter Ashlynn so he’d be even more generous towards them.
Kushaal Kertia: Leader of the Kertia Clan. Cousin of Galileo. A respected fighter known for his immense speed and agility even amongst the Kertia. Kushaal is also honorable. He dislikes dirty fighting and is fairly open to acknowledging his own weaknesses and strives to become even stronger and faster. He has heard about a certain blonde werewolf warrior who is the fastest of his pack, and wishes to fight him one day. While Kushaal enjoys and supports the luxurious lifestyle given to him by their Lord, he believes that humans and werewolves could use some help from Lukedonia. After all, if they’re all gone, he’s not going to have anyone interesting to fight with anymore. Kushaal would love to spar with the werewolves, so he hopes that they’re doing well. In his free time, Kushaal likes to collect rare werewolf artifacts to display in his home because they feel familiar to him, for some odd reason.
As of now, Kushaal has no children.
Galileo Kravei: Son of the leader of the Kravei Clan. Cousin of Kushaal. A man who has a bit of an inferiority complex because his abilities seem to have hit a wall, and he can’t get stronger with his own strength. Galileo is probably going to get by just fine, even though he himself is more impatient than anyone in terms of wanting to gain strength. Other than that, no one really knows much about him since he tends to keep to himself. In his free time, he plays with his three supernatural pet aquatic snakes: Ramen, Ramyeon, and Lamien. Galileo has a huge love-hate crush on Kendrick, and people will tell you he’s both extra mean and extra nice to him. He sends him cheesy “let’s fight” love letters written on rose scented paper. Yeah. He’s totally in love.
And that’s it for now!
Again, very open to questions and discussion. Quite happy about my second major AU! While this post only touches the surface of what I have in mind, I have a feeling that I will grow to like this AU even more. Maybe I’ll even create brand new OCs specific to this AU lol.
Thank you for reading and stay tuned for future posts!

I don't think I mentioned the music in Lunark.
And that's probably because it didn't stand out to me much at first. But -- I realized this later -- that's because it did such a good job of being so very background listenable.
It's not the sort of music where you go "whoa this song is so catchy," but it's music that really works and has just the right energy for each area. It sets the scene without being distracting, or feeling too repetitive when you have to try a section a few times before beating it. It does exactly what video game music should do: complementing the story and gameplay, without overshadowing it.
After finishing the game, I put the soundtrack on as background music while I'm working -- and I've been listening to it loads and I haven't gotten tired of it yet. It's got enough energy to keep me awake and focused, but not so much as to distract me.
(Oh, and the music in the level where you're riding the metro somehow just sounds exactly like what riding a metro feels like. Exactly.)
Well done, Johan Vinet.

Pixel Art Research
Army of Trolls
Army of Trolls' site contains a mix between traditional game pixel art and art for YouTube banners, conventions and competitions (for example a pixel art map for GDC 2018) This page especially I like due to each character having their own idle animation, as them still moving makes it easy to hold attention on what I assume the enemies are.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like the design of all of the individual in-game characters, as they match well with the theme and work well with eachother too. Johan Vinet
Johan Vinet's tumblr page shows his work on the game LUNARK, a 2D sidescrolling game with a pixel art style. I like the more simplistic design of the characters, although I dislike the more detailed design in what i assume the game's cutscenes are.
Tumblr media
These cutscenes seem much too complex for me to do, and they seem like they wouldn't work well with my game.
Tumblr media
Derek Yu
Derek Yu's website shows screenshots from "a variety of retro games whose pixel art he admires." With them all varying across genres, platforms and styles.
Tumblr media
The styles in them vary alot, from the highly detailed art of Street Fighter III to very low resolution in Star Ocean: Blue Sphere.
Tumblr media
Although this is an impressive variety of games, I do not see anything here that could help me with my artstyle.
Octavi Navarro
Octavi Navarro is a small indie studio from barcelona, their site shows Art in different scenes dating from 2014 to 2021. They're all faily complex, with alot going on in the background if you look more than just the bigger picture.

Look what you made me do
Tao: I'm sorry, the old Frankenstein can't come to the phone right now.
3rd Elder: Why?
Tao: Oh, because he had another sadism crisis and went out looking for bastards with white braids who took themselves for kings of the world and forced him to suffer horribly using the Dark Spear, but who are now on the run and trying to find meaning in their lives completely fucked.
3rd Elder: ... Okay...
Tao: Nah, I'm kidding. He's just in the shower.
3rd Elder: Ah. I will call another day. *Hangs up quickly*
Tao: What did I say wrong?

Chapter 351 - Rael's gonna get an error 404 at being called a comrade because he's never had friends before.
- Takeo's gonna break his teeth holding his bullets one day. It does look cool though so ig it's a worthy sacrifice.
- Gaitan not having any pupil or iris or whatever is just like a random detail the artist felt like doing. Maybe to match how M-21 doesn't have any while in ww mode either? At least in these chapters, he has them in later chapters. For M-21 I'm just gonna say his body is acting funky and his eyes are really rolled up, but for Gaitan I'll hc him as blind. He very obviously isn't canonically but 😶
Chapter 352 - Gaitan not getting angry when taunted is just 🥺 Just "yeah that was my bad anyway back to killing you <3 ". Grui and Gaitan have a similar loud and calm dynamic as Urokai and Zarga but you can also still see they're diff ppl so I'm glad.
- Aaand Takeo and Tao's eyes have also rolled back to reveal only whites as they increase their pain power output. I just feel like not being able to see is also a bit of a debuff for these guys but okay.
Chapter 353 - A tiny pupil appeared on Gaitan's eyeball but I'm deigning to ignore it <3
Chapter 354 - Regis I'm not sure if honour and werewolves was a concept a millennia ago, much less now.
- I would never be down for modification but bring able to shoot lazer beams is cool lol. Useless, but cool.
- Hi Raizel.
Chapter 355 - You better believe it Maduke. Muzaka being alive is all Ignes Roctis and 9th's doing. The rest of the Union knew jack shit.
- This is one killer look.
Tumblr media
- If Noblesse wasn't published weekly meaning that the creators were rushed and overworked and barely able to do the minimum, I'd go on about the symbolism of this panel. It was though so it's likely just a coincidence so I'll only state that it's cool that the cloud of debris looks like a fur coat/cape.
Tumblr media
Chapter 356 - Muzaka vs Raizel round 2: Electric Boogaloo. I say this because Raizel backs off immediately.
- Muzaka wondering why tf he's being called a traitor like idk maybe you beat up some wws while you were sleepwalking 820 years ago bro. But yeah Maduke and his ilk just made shit up. Though you could say he is a genuine traitor since most wws apparently are big fans of genocide and he isn't which goes against them and etc etc etc but that's obvsly bs so.
- Rip Grui. Cut cleanly in half.
- Muzaka's ww form eyebrows make me think horns or insect antennae. He's basically Muar 2.0 design wise.
Chapter 357 - Cool, under Gaitan's left arm is a robot arm. So is the skin on top of it fake or real or what?
- I always found it utterly hilarious that Muzaka told Raizel that he wasn't allowed to kill his family but then he went and killed them himself ajjsksks. Like I get why but it's still funny. Imagining Raizel just thinking "why did you stop me if you were just going to do it yourself???"
Chapter 358 - So Lunark and Kentas have met Muzaka before, as children is said outright and presumably at the same time is what seems to be the implication. Which... yeah they really do seem related.
- Frankenstein, Karias, and Seira turning up late...I think they went and had a nice long chat over cake at some cafe before arriving.
- Raizel sighing because of Muzaka and Frankenstein in the same chapter... he'd never treat his family like this thankfully. If he did sigh because of his brother I think he'd be bullied.
Chapter 359 - I like how despite Frankenstein doing petty acts towards him, Muzaka is still all "Glad to see you bro <3 ". Which makes sense since that's how he is @ Raizel too but it's funnier with Frankenstein who's mad at him.
- Muzaka is like a distant but affectionate uncle to Kentas and Lunark.
- Wow way to hurt my feelings there Muzaka. "You're no longer alone... I guess I don't have to worry anymore." Who do you think you are? Ashoka? I don't carry around tissues.

The Hunters of the Stalking Whisper Pack
Fire-watcher FadedGlow [Head of Stalking in Shadows hunting party]
Tumblr media
The head of the pack’s first hunting party that has been given the name of “Stalking in the Shadows”. He stalks and searches for prey, along with being the finisher as of right now. A very fast and young male at 2 years and 2 months. Firewatcher is optimistic and often gets his fellow party members to not feel too down when they come back empty handed. But even he will admit it’s hard sometimes. Firewatcher is from another pack (Folk of Oak Savanna, member #9795) and joined the Stalking Whispers when he was very young. Blåne allowing the then pup into her pack. He currently isn’t bonded to anyone and is keeping his options open.
Lands’a’far Whisperspeak
Tumblr media
First son of Blåne and Loosyphir, and the newest addition to the hunting party. He serves as a chaser in the party. At 1 year and 6.5 months he has shown to be a very keen young male who’s got quite the agility in his steps. He’s very proud of his parentage and though the youngest member he’s still manages to help with plans and hunts. Able to pull his own weight. He has not shown any interest in any wolf and prefers the idea of not having a mate or pups of his own.
Aouli Glowspore
Tumblr media
Aouli Glowspore. Born to the Great Nature Beaver pack by Lunaqua and Lunark, she was found by The Stalking Whispers Pack when their Leader, Blåne was investigating the trading center. When she spotted the small gray and blue pup, who had been put up for sale by her adoptive parents, she instantly took her in, and has since then raised the pup alongside her own slightly younger son. Aouli serves as the lead chaser in the party and is able to use her speed to keep up with almost any prey. Aouli is 1 year and 10.5 months old and Amiable, always trying her best to please her friends and found family. At first it was in hope they wouldn’t get rid of her but now after so long she just likes to see them happy. Although not pair bonded she has mothered a litter of six, two pups are left in the pack as of now. Both are adolescents who she adores, but the larger of the two is sick and the herbalist has yet to be able to make a cure.
Verbena Autumnpine
Tumblr media
Another speedy and agile chaser, Verbena is a social butterfly who always manages to find a way to make a conversation with her pack mates. Especially her hunt mates. At 2 years 3.5 months old she is just barely the oldest in the party. Verbena loves the idea of a large family and mate, unfortunately her one litter of pups that were sited by another wolf outside the pack did not make it. She has a small crush on Firewatcher but would never admit it.

Wolfsbane : Noblesse Fanfic (post-ending)
(previous chapter)
Chapter 62 – After the Battle
Beep. Beep. Beep.
The cadence from the machine was as steady as it could be.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
Frankenstein’s heart was just as steady, its beat placid like the surface of water.
In reality, at least from Frankenstein’s standing point, for each pulse his blood was being drained away by a droplet.
He felt as if the entire room, beyond the spot he was marking with his legs, was already flooded with the red from his body.
Which he should have expected since his entrance to Lunark’s room.
The day after the destructive arrival of his body occupied by the Dark Spear to Lukedonia, Lunark was hospitalized in the Lukedonian ward, having yet to wake up.
It had been merely hours since the battle was officially closed, so it was too soon to see her waking up.
Frankenstein knew that; after all, she was against none other than the Dark Spear that had unchained itself from his command.
The Dark Spear that had absorbed Crombel and pieces of Crombel’s Blood Stone.
No one would deny that it was a life-threatening opponent, even for Lunark.
Not to mention she suffered a wound from Dark Spear, deliberately meant to kill her.
A wound that sent Frankenstein’s sanity to the nether world when he finally regained his senses.
A wound that was more critical than it should have been, for Lunark did not care about anything other than getting Frankenstein back, paying no attention to her own survival.
Lunark may be top-tiered among the current werewolf warriors, but it is not time yet for her to wake up.
Frankenstein knew and understood and accepted it in his head.
However, his heart refused to comply.
The cardiac monitor that was linked to her was signaling how she was at least stabilized, but Frankenstein felt he would die unless she provides a hint herself that she will be fine.
Which is why he could not leave her, when she was not the only patient in the chamber.
He had been receiving multiple suggestions and offers for breaks, if not treatment, from the hospital’s doctors and medical staff, Central Knights, and even few of the heads of clans.
And of course, he would not heed them at all.
Or he would answer he will not be staying long, to go ahead and stay transfixed as soon as he was left alone.
‘Looks like the story about me has spread to all corners of Lukedonia.’
Thought Frankenstein as he reckoned the next visitor.
“I anticipated you to be here. I am glad I did not waste my time walking into your own room.”
“...Please forgive me. I was supposed to keep better vigilance upon myself. The damage I caused upon your land is of no small...”
Though what happened was as far as it could be from his intention, knowing that he had caused lot of trouble – in fact, heaps of trouble – Frankenstein willingly bowed to Lascrea.
In the meantime, he was plotting whatever excuse he could yield to thwart yet another trial to send him to bed.
Alas, this time he was told incorrect.
“This is for you.”
Frankenstein blinked in puzzlement upon locking his eyes on the phone Lascrea handed.
‘Oh. Right. Tao said he prepared a phone and a couple applications for her in extension of the QuadraNet project.’
He was questioning the timing of Lascrea’s presentation of her phone when something caught his eyes.
The screen was not the sort he identified, but the interface told him it was an application with a vocal chat activated, ongoing.
And there is only one soul that is connected to Lascrea’s phone.
That moment Frankenstein could feel his throat strangling itself.
However, he knew who was waiting on the other side of the phone; not even the end of the world can serve as a reason for him to turn it down.
Thus he took Lascrea’s phone, his heart heavy like never before in the most recent times.
“...Yes, master?”
<Frankenstein. You do not sound well.>
“...Forgive me, master.”
<Forgive you...? For what?>
Frankenstein’s eardrums shriveled.
He could list in his mind more than a handful of things he should be begging forgiveness for, but for some reason he could not name any of them.
Raizel changed the topic, his previous question obviously meant to be rhetoric.
<Lascrea relayed the news. You were brought to Lukedonia, your body lost to Dark Spear, until Lunark arrived for your redemption following a blood-spilling battle. Because of which Lunark has met another battle, this time her conscious as a captive.>
Frankenstein could tell Raizel was being gracious to him on the smallest scale he could afford.
He may have put the cause behind Lunark’s blackout as an aftermath from her battle, but he would know the truth.
After all, Lascrea was one of the witnesses for Lunark’s wound, and she would have had enough knowledge to testify for Raizel how she ended up suffering the wound.
He would know that what forced her into blackout is not the aftermath of the battle; it is the one who was engaged in the battle.
<Are you all right?>
<...I’m fine, sir. Lukedonia boasts medical skills good enough to...>
<My question was posed for more than your body.>
And he knew how Frankenstein’s vessels and heart were being pulled apart every second with guilt.
He knew how Frankenstein’s nightmare came true – his hand lost the reins he had placed upon Dark Spear, waiting for a chance to prevail from within.
He knew because of which he is feeling for himself hatred like never before.
Frankenstein could still remember the moment when the dam finally started to break down. And when he woke up once it was all over.
Upon his return from the werewolf realm – rather, not long after he had finally recharged himself with wolfsbane tonic, the substance that should have kept him insomniac, he felt how a venom called sleep yanked his head with an invisible lasso towards the thick, unbreakable swamp of slumber.
He panicked, a rare occasion for him, realizing something had gone horribly wrong, but he was already swept away by the rapid current of sleep.
Without any rope or boat to save him, he fell deeper and deeper into sleep.
After who-knows-for-how-long, he was beckoned by a thin sensation from somewhere beyond his conscious as if something had shattered.
Now that he had thought about it, he was surely fast asleep back then, but he could swear he felt something shatter.
Promptly, his eyelids shot open as if under electrocution, exactly in the manner of a person miraculously dragged back by the AED from the brink of embarking on Charon’s boat.
Furiously panting from the bottommost of his lungs, he waved his head in circumspection of his surroundings.
He knew all too well what he would unleash once he is asleep, and as he feared his perimeter was nothing short from the definition of cataclysm.
And he needed not to check how he was doing.
He noticed how the soil and dirt he was thrown upon was of Lukedonian origin, and he wondered how he ended up here until his face grew cold, for he got aware a tad late of an unfamiliar weight upon his body.
He could not see the face of the one lying upside down upon his torso, but he could make out a flock of hair scattered about where his hugger’s head should be.
And he did not need to try at all to recognize the color, length, and curves of the hair.
Immediately his heart froze up, turned much colder than his face.
Soon enough he discovered a black hole rooted deep into her back, partially hidden by her hair, which filled him from head to toes with ice.
He could not recall what befell right after.
He ripped her off his body and ran with no direction or sense to coordinate him, to shriek dozen times and plead as twice as much, to ultimately reach here.
<Know I it was not your will to hurt her. She would not blame you.>
“...No. She wouldn’t.”
<But you would.>
Frankenstein’s throat grew strained at Raizel’s remark.
Just as he said, Frankenstein felt highly inclined to wrench off his own head if he could.
He wanted to drive his nails into his chest to pry out his heart.
He could not remember the last time when his heart was jeopardized every minute by miserable, violent impulse concerning what did not happen to be Raizel.
He could not stop thinking that he might make his impulse come to reality if Lunark is to never again open her eyes.
Lascrea tightened her lips, having never seen such a slick, flawless man speechless for once.
That was when she was reminded that she did not have much history with Lunark.
She did have a light clash against her and the 3rd Elder, on the day she visited Raizel to fill his life with the half of her Ragnarok.
After that, she ran into Lunark when she made her way to the werewolf realm with Kei and Rosaria, when Lunark brought Frankenstein, Muzaka, and Raizel, for them to ultimately reap away Maduke’s life.
Apart from those occasions, she could not even get to hear Lunark’s name.
So Lascrea was clueless why Frankenstein would have such a conversation with Raizel with Lunark unconscious before him.
After all, she was looking at none other than Frankenstein, which made it more challenging for her to determine the exact relation that he and Lunark would share.
With everything pushed to the side, however, she equally prayed that this werewolf warrior who was making THE Frankenstein spill out his guilt to open her eyes.
Partially because she had something she had to check with Lunark.
And she could see she was not the only one.
<It seems your heart as of now is not available for an uninterrupted, untainted reflection. For now best would it be for us to wait for Lunark to rise again. Wish I to hear that she awakens.>
“...Of course. I believe we have a discussion ahead of us.”
That was when Frankenstein and Lascrea sharpened their eyes with pregnant glare.
But the latter soon redirected the spotlight to something more important than the business they had with Lunark.
“Have no concern, Frankenstein. Cadis Etrama di Raizel. I shall help our guest and savior to rise again with body as good as new, even if it takes all of Lukedonia’s art in medicine.”
<...My gratitude, Lascrea.>
Lascrea’s phone chimed with a brief word of appreciation.
Poised were Raizel’s words, but Lascrea could detect softness as light but certain as moonlight, and her cheeks flushed like ripe tomatoes for a second.
Thankfully for her, Frankenstein was too caught in his own complicated mind to notice her blush and failed to print it in his head with his eyes.
He thereby unintentionally kept the noble lord’s dignity safe and asked, “Speaking of which, how is everything going at Korea?”
(next chapter)
Now it’s time to wrap up things that follow the battle one by one, including the relationship between Frankenstein and Lunark. Also, I’ll be highlighting all the events that have yet to be explored in this fic (especially the events mentioned in the early chapters). Which means even though the highlight of this fic is over, I still have lots of work to do. Nevertheless, I shall do my best! :D

Noble OCs - Tradio
Making five OCs for every clan!
Hydrangea Tradio: Non-pureblood. Alive in the present day, belongs to Raskreia’s generation.
Hydrangea’s parents had a hard time with their little daughter because she often ran outside to hide herself in a game of hide-and-seek, to her own amusement and her family’s distress. At a very young age, she somehow figures out how to match the wavelength of her aura to that of mother nature and the fun starts there. She thinks it’s hilarious to watch her clueless parents shout for hours trying to look for her. Hydrangea hasn’t changed a bit as an adult. She loves plants and talks to them as if they’re capable of responding, and prefers to have picnics with bushes instead of real people, stating that they “talk too much” and hurt her eardrums. Her parents try to get her to make some friends to no avail. She’s not lonely, she’s quite satisfied with her life, thank you very much. She claims that the plants are her friends and they’re the only companions for her. Hydrangea has names for all of them and gets mad when people mix it up. No, that’s Jason, not Jerry, how can people say they look the same when they are so different? How offensive, hmph. Hydrangea loves rainy weather and every time she sees clouds gather, she runs outside to get drenched in the pouring rain because it feels nice. Her favorite time to dance barefoot is during thunderstorms where the rain is so loud they deafen everything else. The wet, grassy hills are her stage, and the lightning is her spotlight. Hydrangea thinks the most delicious drink in the world is morning dew collected from petals on a chilly day.
Gallus Tradio: Pureblood. Alive in the present day, belongs to Raskreia’s generation.
Gallus works closely with the Volo. He partners with one and as researchers part of their job is to fine tune the balance between poison and antidote to create new and improved painkillers for their fellow nobles. Gallus becomes best friends with his colleague and they spend a lot of time with each other outside of work as well. At some point his best friend gets depressed for unknown reasons and doesn’t elaborate much when asked. It starts out as a minor work inconvenience with occasional absences but gradually snowballs into full-time withdrawal from society and ultimately he had to quit his job and now Gallus has to work alone or find a new partner. To everyone’s surprise, Gallus transfers their current project to the other researchers and quits his job to support his best friend. He moves in with his struggling friend in order to take care of him since he refuses to see anyone else. Unfortunately, his friend enters voluntary eternal sleep one day because he couldn’t take it anymore and Gallus was devastated. He picked a time and fatally poisoned himself when Gallus was running errands outside. He left everything in his possession to Gallus and apologized and thanked him for being his only shining light in the darkness which he knew would inevitably consume him. After decades of grieving, Gallus returns to work as a solo researcher and names his successful creation after his deceased friend.
Deiphobos Tradio: Pureblood. Alive in the present day, belongs to Gejutel’s generation.
Deiphobos was one of Lagus’ loyal followers back then and still is after the latter’s death. Lagus kept Deiphobos very well hidden along with some of his other more important followers so Lord Raskreia is unaware that the infamous traitor still lives to this day through his supporters. She thinks she has weeded out all of them already except that’s clearly not the case because Deiphobos and his fellow Lagus enthusiasts are as free as birds. Most of them have been eliminated, but the Lord missed some because they were able to outsmart both her and her surveillance team. Lagus trained them well. Currently, Deiphobos runs his ex-Clan Leader’s remaining secret laboratories and performs all kinds of experiments in his legacy. They keep Finn, Lunark’s twin who was given away at birth by their father Maduke, in one of those facilities. Deiphobos and his colleagues’ loyalty is dedicated to Lagus alone, which means that Claudia is clueless to their activities. They will never tell her anything, because to them, she is only Lagus’ daughter and nothing more. But, if they ever do get caught, they already have a very convincing scheme set up that will blame everything on her and make it look like she authorized it. Maybe they’ll even manipulate the story so it points to Claudia as the one who ordered them to do so. She’ll have a difficult time getting out of trouble because her father had a prominent traitor history and she can’t completely separate her own identity from his even if she wants to. They’ll just let the Lord’s lingering suspicions in Claudia, if any, to do its job. How blissfully convenient. Deiphobos and his friends are not to be messed with. Curiously, they treat the captives quite well when they’re not running experiments. They cook tasty steaks for Finn every now and then and give him luxurious baths with expensive oils.
Wisteria Tradio: Non-pureblood. Alive in the present day, belongs to Lagus’ generation.
People can never seem to have a normal conversation with Wisteria. Some think she’s just plain weird, others suspect that she’s toying with them. Well, they have their reasons to think so. When Wisteria doesn’t like someone, she flirts with them. The more she can’t stand them, the more aggressive the flirting. On the contrary, if she enjoys someone’s company, she starts insulting them. The more she adores them, the more brutal the insults. Most learn to stay way from Wisteria because her mixed signals drive them crazy while some stick around and they become best friends. Wisteria reads tea leaves and her favorite thing to do is inviting people to tea time in her gazebo. First, she asks them if they like tea. If they say yes, then she asks them if they would like to know how they’re going to die. Ha. That escalated quickly, didn’t it. The truth is, Wisteria’s tea leaf reading is eerily accurate. No one knows how it works, but they can’t deny her odd superpowers. Perhaps she’s hiding something else. If that’s the case, they’d rather not know. There’s even a rumor about how Lagus used to get Wisteria to read into his fate. Wisteria just smiles and neither confirms nor denies the rumor. In reality, it’s very much true. At some point in the past, Lagus asked how he would die and after Wisteria took a look at his teacup, she very slowly said “swallowed by the Phoenix”. Is that just Granny being crazy or did she end up making a self-fulfilling prophecy? That, my friends, is another mystery. Wisteria just giggles and twitches her expressive eyebrows. Keep guessing, my sweeties.
Suzume Tradio: Non-pureblood. Entered eternal sleep, belonged to Raskreia’s generation.
Suzume was a hardworking person. After Lagus’ betrayal, she supported Claudia and stayed by her side as she believed that the latter is innocent while the other clan members weren’t fully confident about such matters. They were friends and Suzume would cheer up the Tradio heir when she looked sad by bringing in her pet sparrows. The sparrows were part of Suzume’s bird choir and they could sing any song after listening to it once as she taught them well as a bird trainer. Suzume also took up scheduling visits and communicating with Marina, Claudia’s younger half-sister, when she came to visit big sister. Days went by relatively peacefully despite the somber atmosphere in the Tradio household. Then everything took a turn for the worse when Lagus came back. Suzume was one of the survivors who had their life essence sucked out by Lagus’ rune stones before they were finally destroyed in the invasion arc. While most of the victims recovered fairly well, Suzume developed severe trust issues and experienced a complete personality change. She resented Claudia and felt betrayed because she was still under the impression that her “former friend” summoned them to have Lagus suck out their life essence, and that both father and daughter were traitors after all. Claudia felt very hurt by this statement and couldn’t get her friend to listen to explanations. Suzume didn’t truly believe her own accusations against Claudia either, except her awful trauma from the unfortunate incident was more than detrimental to her overall health and she couldn’t distinguish friend from foe anymore. One day, Suzume suddenly went on a rampage and brutally killed all of her sparrows with her noble powers so that they exploded into grotesque splatters of minced meat and blood in the air before finally doing the same to herself. To this day, Claudia is still haunted by Suzume’s last letter to her which wrote “You caused this. Hope you’re happy. May we never meet again.”
Thank you for reading! Ru is next!

Play anything interesting during the Steam Game Festival?
It sounds too harsh to say “not really.” So far I’ve played:
Steel Assault The look of this game is really great. Gorgeous pixel art graphics and I appreciate the mandatory CRT filter, because it adds a texture to the game that I think looks really cool. But, I dunno. Something about the gameplay just didn’t click with me. It’s not that it controls poorly or anything, I guess. But the zipline mechanic is a little weird and the action is otherwise sort of plain. Kind of the definition of “it’s fine.” Hard to pinpoint what about it feels so pedestrian. Maybe I’m being too harsh.
Stay Out of the House: Night Shift This is a Puppet Combo game, and if you don’t know who that is, basically, they’ve been cranking out quick, retro-esque horror games through their Patreon for a few years now. Night Shift was a game they released a couple years ago, but it gets a new layer of visual polish here to serve as a prequel to Stay Out of the House. Unfortunately... man, I really did not like this one at all. It’s extremely indulgent -- you’re a convenience store clerk during a night shift, and it’s a lot of standing behind a counter for minutes and minutes and minutes in total silence. Not an exaggeration, either. I played for about 30 minutes and tended to three or four customers total, meaning an average of 7-8 minutes with nothing to do. There’s a note left by your boss on things to do around the store to help you keep busy, but the overbearing VHS filter makes that impossible to read. Did not finish; was literally, no joke falling asleep by the time it looked like something weird was starting to happen.
Lunark This is extremely inspired by games like Flashback and Another World. Which means it’s a cinematic platformer. I, uh, don’t really like cinematic platformers. They’re heavy, and awkward, and often a single mistake means instant death. All too often, what killed you is impossible to predict -- like the worst elements of an old school adventure game mixed with a bad platformer. Lunark’s demo isn’t long enough to get in to a lot of that. Like, for real, this feels like something you’d find at SAGE. You play long enough to do a basic movement tutorial and then it ends. Less than ten minutes of gameplay, unless I’m missing something. Hard to be too positive or negative about that.
I also downloaded demos for Loop Hero and Oddventure, but haven’t booted them up. Also looks like the demos I downloaded for Graven, Guinea Pig Parkour, Shady Knight, Iron Meat, Linked Mask, and Little Nightmares 2 updated for this festival. Haven’t played any of those before except Shady Knight, which is a fun, simple first person combat game with shades of Devil May Cry and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Great art style, really interesting puzzle-centric combat. Very recommended.
Oh, and Graven, but I don’t know if I played Graven enough to form an opinion on it. It’s a retro FPS with a medieval setting; lofi visuals are offset by gorgeous, colorful pixel art textures. Combat seemed okay but I got lost in the demo area within five or ten minutes and couldn’t figure out how to progress. Looked great, but hard to judge the rest when I only really saw the same five rooms as I ran back and forth and back and forth trying to figure out what I missed.

I just finished Lunark and it was a pretty great game!
This game was chock full of Flashback references; in fact it was essentially an homage to Flashback. And considering that it was made 31 years later, I think that's perfectly fine. It also had at least one clear reference to Another World that was so obvious it made me laugh, but in a good kind of way. Lunark doesn't feel like it's ripping off its predecessors, but honoring them.
However, it still stands as a solid game on its own. I actually enjoyed the gameplay element more than Flashback, due to having a more modern approach to health and save points, and the combat being not quite so difficult (though still challenging). And it had a pretty good amount of variety among the quests and levels, too.
I also enjoyed the story, which was pretty well fleshed out and had a lot of dialogue, including a good deal of humor. It's a game that doesn't take itself super seriously, but is a lot of fun and has a variety of wacky side characters. In fact, it was probably the least lonely of a cinematic platformer world that I've encountered so far.
In the main gameplay, the pixel art has large pixels with fewer details, and it didn't impress me as much as Full Void's, but there were some very lovely backdrops and space sunset skies. I also enjoyed the more detailed pixel art in the short rotoscoped cutscenes that were very Flashback-esque.
Oh and by the way, you can pet the dogs and cats. 💛
