Gamedev vs life

Hi I wanted to thank fans/players for patience regarding markings. I am grateful beyond belief how basically entire playerbase was so nice about it all. I got so touched, because I was so scared to disappoint you all. Thank you so much. <3

I am working hard to make up for the delay, I am very sorry it came to that point, I am very ashamed I underestimated amount of work vs manpower, and encouraged to start the encounters before everything was ready, thinking "Of course it's gonna be ready". But it's not 2018 anymore. It's not 1400 files per stage, it's ~3000, totalling 18.000 files for Jaglions... Plus - lot of things happened. Almost entire staff team got sick or experienced very difficult life news that impacted progress. However, I will talk about my situation, as this is my blog.

This month, I have finally been diagnosed with osteoarthritis. It's been an issue for years, but in last 2 years it significally affected quality of my life - this was final drop in sea of needs to get an extra lion files artist in late 2023.

In June this year I suffered a joint inflammation that made me unable to walk. My fingers bend sideways, are stiff and painful. I did receive a steroid treatment but it was not enough to affect the knee, however my fingers feel a bit better, which is nice for drawing! I also received prescription for a painkiller that works better with joints - which is a nice change from just ketoprofen I've been taking. I have more appointments set to see what treatments I can get.

I have to address that it has been affecting my work, and with this, how players experience the game I work on. It is unfair that it affects the enjoyment of the game, and we want to do everything to remedy this.

An artist who already has been with us for years just received a new contract to help us with lion files, and we are looking into getting another decor artist (we're reviewing the portfolio right now!), making us potentially get 3 new artists this year alone. I hope this will help with improving quality and tempo of the game growth. I think Wolvden gets a lot more diversity in artists and a lot less stages/files currently, so it's not an issue yet - however I hope the way we work on Lioden which is always so time-consuming will also positively impact Wolvden in future, as it grows.

Thank you again for your patience with me, DMs with support and stern feedback - I appreciate everything, always. I want this game to be so much fun and to always be pleasure to look at.

Buttercup Vet Commissions!

This is my new pup Buttercup that I adopted with my best bud, and she is already a wonderful part of the family. Problem is, the shelter we got her from assured us she was over giardia.... but she wasn't. And because it is a pre-existing condition, pet insurance won't cover anything.

Buttercup has had treatment for the last month and a half and is slowly getting better, but she needs to see the vet again to test her stool and see if it is cleared, or if there is another problem. Which may mean more intensive, and expensive treatment... and the lab alone is $87.70, the initial appointment was $79, and each round of medication has been at or around has been $58.15 weekly... It is already difficult to make rent, but not impossible yet. And since we can't rely on pet insurance, we will not be able to afford her treatment if it ends up being specialty or long term.

SO, to make up for this, I am opening sketch commissions. These will be cleaned up sketches only with suggested prices, but really they are "pay what you want". But keep in mind: the more you pay, the more detail I will put into the art.

First and preferred option is the headshots. $20 is the suggested price, but I will take anything over $15... but rendering will only be added if the donation is over $30. And if you want to throw in more, I will happily add a simple background

If you'd like to get full bodies, I can draw those too. Generally I double the price of what would be a headshot, and additional characters are +50%

ALL donations regardless of size will get a small doodle at LEAST unless specified. The examples provided are for reduced commission amounts of money.

I know people on Tumblr aren't as keen on moving to Bluesky compared to the Bird Site (and I don't wanna deal with posting this on said site if I don't have to..) BUT if anyone on here is interested in becoming more active on Bluesky, I'd like to share that I made a feed for petsite stuff! Currently collects posts tagged as "browserpetgame", "petsite", and a bunch of titles like Neopets and Flight Rising (and my bias PawBorough lol).

I'll tag this post with the other tags it currently grabs but feel free to recommend additions to the list. Keep in mind though some game titles might be harder to implement if they have a heavy overlap with unrelated content but I will try to make things work with enough tinkering.

Flooding in Poland

I am posting links that will keep you updated if there will be delays due to very possible evacuation of me, my bf and my cats due to catastrophic flooding in Poland. Things change almost every hour, and it's not possible to predict anything. They just announced an area 2.6km away will probably get evacuated, and I have to be prepared at any moment. It might as well not happen, which I really hope for. No news is good news. Dams and levees keep breaking as the wave goes down from Czech Mountains, drowning entire towns. In many areas it's worse than 1997. The rain does not end. Multiple tornadoes hit villages up north, as well.

I apologize in advance for any delays. I'm trying to prepare Lunar Event now and leave instructions to the admin team.

I'm booking a hotel and we'll travel there in a car if that happens, I will be okay. I'm very sorry about the loss of thousands of people's homes in Poland, Czech Rep, Austria, Romania, Slovakia and possibly Hungary.

If you want to have an understanding on how tragic it was back in 1997, there's a short tv-series on Netflix called High Water, as well as documentaries on Youtube.

I hope they really managed go fix the infrastructure and retention lakes in last 30 years, otherwise it will be really bad.
