really, when i started writing nathan it wasn't something i had in mind at all. kind of similar to how when i started writing wade i didn't necessarily think of him as nonbinary, but it was kind of just a dormant thing that was there, and then i decided to finally point at him and slap the label on him.

it was kind of an accident that snuck up on me when i was writing tunnel o'love - that i kind of entirely accidentally made nathan trans. not overtly - but just - it was an accident.

i was so mad at myself when i found out i had accidentally made nathan trans. i keep doing this. why do i keep transing characters. can ONE of the characters i write just be cis for ONCE!!

I feel very bad for Bonnie though cause depending on how much of this idea I use they will feel Very Guilty for two of Siffrin's deaths and not just the tear one...

anyway, actually explaining my idea here!

So, we've seen how the deaths make everyone loop back, it's still gonna play out almost exactly the same with that. And the effort of the timeline to keep your equipment with you while also not breaking people's minds is still there, that's just the timeline fixing itself.

But what about the points like with Bonnie, where you go back a bit to prevent that?

What if it wasn't solely caused by [??????? ??????], but also something fucky with the others' memories?

After all, I don't think Bonnie-who-remembers-accidentally-pushing-Siffrin-into-a-tear would accept saying some of the things they did in this situation (source: similar breakdown at similar age, albeit over something very stupid and with a very different reaction, would not have said some of the things I did if I knew the world wasn't ending)

and then Siffrin takes the pineapple and fucking perishes. Not Sure whether it'll be it slipping their mind entirely (previously they were hyperaware that "pineapple? kills me maybe??"), brain fog mixed with guilt over the situation (and the fact that it won't just magically get that much better despite the rewind), or just straight up "I made them irrevocably upset this time, let's start this over entirely"

I am very much unintentionally traumatizing the fuck out of Bonnie here. Why is there so much opportunity to do this. Is it going to get worse. Bonnie can't look Siffrin in the eyes their next loop until they all nearly go through the hallway without dealing with the boulder first.

I was fully intending for Isabeau and Siffrin to be the first whose loops cross but this is an Opportunity if you can't tell.

Depending on how I play with this idea either Bonnie will talk with someone (likely Odile) about the loops (!!!!) or I'll keep with Isa and Sif being the first to talk together about it

Mentioned on discord that I think this post blowing up is a bit funny but I should've expected it cuz tumblr is the land of haters but then I ended up going on a rant lecture about the importance of ironing between steps. I figured I'll do another "V decides to be educational instead of just a hater" lecture.

So my poor victim friend on discord knew you should iron fabric before sewing and after finishing, but wasn't aware of all the ironing you should ideally be doing in the middle. I say ideally because let's face it ironing is tedious and boring and sometimes we don't care about things looking neat. But when we DO care, maybe because we're entering something in a contest/the fair or making clothes for work and want them to look professional or any time where you want everything to look neat and tidy, like 50% of your sewing time should be devoted to ironing (very rough estimate but like you'll spend A Lot Of Time ironing).

Now. I'm not as passionate about ironing as I am about gauge swatches. If you don't want to do all the ironing I'm about to talk about, fine. Whatever. This post is for the people who aren't experienced enough to know all the different things you should be ironing. As you get more experience with sewing you'll come to know when something should 100% definitely be ironed, when it probably should be ironed, and when it's skipable.

I'm not going to explain what's skipable because that varies greatly project to project and person to person. For this I'm going to assume that the reader wants their work to look as professional as possible.

Hems

Okay, I'm assuming we're talking about a fold hem allowance, fold hem, sew in place type of hem because that's what I have the most experience with. Ideally you should iron at every point in that process. When you fold the hem allowance in, iron it. Then fold the hem in. Iron it again. Sew it. Iron it again. And actually I lied because I am gonna say sometimes I just fold my hem allowance in, fold my hem, and iron all at once. It's not ideal and the top folded edge of the inside of the hem can get messy this way. If you sew it in place and it already looks neat, the final ironing isn't technically required. It depends on your fabric and how well everything stayed in place during sewing. But again if you're wanting it to look professional, iron it again.

Seams

For a lot of seams, especially ones that will show on the outside such as the leg seam in a skirt or pair of pants, after you finish sewing a seam, you should iron the seam allowance (either open or to one side, depending on the pattern) and then iron the seam open. Ironing the seam open means going from the right side and ironing down the seam making sure to iron as if you're trying to separate the two pieces of fabric. Sometimes you can iron the seam allowance to one side while you're ironing the right side of the seam open but again it depends on your fabric and it leaves a lot of room for things to get messy.

*note sometimes you want to iron it not quite open but with one side overlapping the other a bit. I can't remember what this is called (I don't actually sew that much. I'm at an intermediate level but most of my formal teaching happened when I was 8-10 years old) but it is still a method of making the seam look neater.

Hidden edges

In a lot of cases when you're hiding a raw edge, such as the edge you fold to the inside of a waistband, you should act like it's a hem and iron the allowance to the inside. For a waistband specifically, continue to iron like it's a hem in that you fold, iron, fold again, iron again. Most waistbands look much neater when they're ironed

Some of these may seem pointless because when you wash the item it loosens wrinkles in the fabric. However. Have you ever noticed that when you accidentally iron a wrinkle into something when ironing that wrinkle is way harder to get out than the wrinkles from the wash? Depending on your fabric and the iron settings you choose, ironing eeeever so slightly affects the fibers of your project and can make them slightly denser, making these folds you're ironing into the fabric more sturdy. This doesn't happen with all fibers but, for example, the 3cm hem of my hot pink linen palazzo pants has stayed nice and neat because I ironed on high heat and steamed the fuck out of them which shrunk the fibers ever so slightly and made the fabric denser. This doesn't work as well on synthetics and your mileage may vary in general but I am quite pleased with those hems.

Basically, if you want it to look ✨professional✨ you need to iron almost everything. Yes that too. But know that the majority of us don't actually do that and I personally am not gonna judge you if you are like me and decide "actually ironing is objectively the worst part of sewing and I don't care if this particular part of my project looks a bit bad." But let's not brag about how bad our projects look in the notes. We aren't Catholic here we don't need "I never do the thing and yeah everything looks bad but I just suffer" comments. OK?

I have learned a new pet peeve I have which is sewing tutorials not showing the ironing step when something has clearly been ironed to look neater. Especially beginner tutorials or tutorials advertised as easy. People won't know about that step if you don't tell them! They'll wonder why yours looks so neat and tidy whole theirs looks frumpy!

I haven't been that active in this fandom for a couple of years, even if it still owns my heart, so there may be newer fics I'm not aware of. There's a Mogami Arc tag on AO3 with several pages worth of content if you feel like checking it out, but here's my personal recs:

I don't step on bugs. by mobbus is short and the opposite of sweet. Much like the Mogami arc, it's chilling and painful to read. I like its take on Mob's pov

A Day in the Life of Mr. Perfect by MarenWithAnM is about the fake Ritsu from the Mogami work and suitably angsty, but its ending is more about actual Ritsu and recovery from the Mogami Arc

Sunless skies by flotar is the most chilling of the bunch to me. It shows how Mogami manipulates Mob's thoughts from Mob's point of view and also has the Mogamiland inhabitants acting scarily realistic with their bullying. Special warning for accusations of peeping and groping against Mob as part of the bullying.

Fics surrounding Mob recovering from the canonical Mogami Arc, ranging from an Angstfest to mostly comfort (of which there are more):

Not The First by Kerink is more angst than recovery, but it is extremely well written and I can just see it happening in canon. Mogami follows Mob around and tries to get him on his side again and doesn't succeed.

Sometimes by orphan_account: After the events of the Mogami Arc, Mob has a bad night. Beware, this is a Hurt No Comfort piece.

A Complex is a Good Thing to Have by this_kills_the_man is another short and sad post-Mogami Arc fic about Mob having a bad night and grappling with what Mogami told him about ESP and emotions.

Zoning Out by lethotep is a neat short character study where Mob reflects on how much he has changed and tries not to think about the bad parts of that change and the trauma of the Mogami Arc. Includes accidental self harm.

Little Blessings by tiredRobin is about Mob choosing to let a curse that hurts him stay in order to cope with the Mogami arc and hiding it from everyone else :(

Tell Me, Mr. Cat by jonbsims has Mob really feeling the after effects from the Mogami arc and refusing to tell Ritsu about it. Another one of the short and painful ones

A taste of what it's like without it by theovenbird also has Mob being affected by the animals of his real world reminding him of the Mogami world and the people around him taking note and trying to help.

No Use Crying Over Spilled Milk by SpiritusRex: in which Reigen adopts a cat named milk and Mob worries about her. This is the sweetest of the bunch so far

Snap/Rewind by bikeaeathetic alternates between Mogamiland memories and Mob opening up to Ritsu about what happened. If you like Kageyama brothers bonding, you'll probably like this.

In Did The Years Tick By For You Like I? by Hino Shou and Mob encounter Minori years after the events of the Mogami Arc and Shou confronts her on behalf of his friend.

And for a fic I especially liked, there's the Return. Continue series by UncannyCookie, which is a 100k words long TeruMob fic. The first part in particular focuses on Mob coping with the after effects of the Mogami arc. The characterisation is very on point! Fair warning, it has been unfinished for a few years now.

Here's another last one that's one of my absolute favourite fics in the fandom: The Family That Stays Together, Freezes to Death Slightly Slower Together by nimagine and sweetbabyrayray! 50k+ words of post-Mogami Arc case fic where Ritsu tags along with Mob and Reigen on a new exorcism assignment because he noticed his brother acting odd. Quality team dynamics, quality banter and excellent mixture of angst and hurt/comfort

Alternate Mogami Arcs centering around Mob:

Different shoes by iamcurrentlycravingramen explores what might've happened if Dimple hadn't managed to get to Mob in time and Mob had emerged from the experience much more influenced by Mogami. Short and chilling.

Dark by amaranthinecanicular is about an alternate Mogami Arc where Reigen gets possessed by Mogami instead. It's deliciously angsty, but also - beware - as the title says quite dark!

People can change by theholychesse which is a tragedy where Mogami's world is Mob's reality, leading to him stepping into Mogami's shoes - except he's even worse and more dangerous about it.

Last but not least, A Breach of Trust by Phantomrose96, in which Mogami kidnaps Mob as a kid and Reigen ends up more or less accidentally rescuing him. This fic is famous within the fandom and spawned a lot of spin offs and art, so if you end up liking it, you have a lot of fanworks to look forward to!

Personally, I haven't kept up with the latest updates, but (as with the rest of these) watch out for the trigger warnings in the tags of the work.

Special mention to the river of three crossings by malfaisant which is a verse where Reigen gets Mogami arc'd instead and happens to be one of my favourite fics in this fandom as well!

PORTWELL LONG GAME OR RINA SLOWBURN.

We all ship each character with happiness. No matter how much you love to hate them, a majority of us simply adores the characters and want the best for them. Then comes relationships and it's okay to ship our favorites.⛴

I'm a diehard Rina shipper and I know in my heart that they are series endgame. The set up, the natural chemistry, their mutual understanding, the surprises and angst literally put me on chokehold. So I'm 100% a Rina shipper till the end. I'm here for the slowburn and their development rather than one shots. They are worth the pain. 😭��

Let me start with Ricky Bowen now.

Ricky shouldn't to be with Gina because he's hurting her mentality. He's not insensitive on purpose. Like when he tried to stop Big Red from telling her his message to Nina because he KNOWS it'll hurt her.

If you think, that Ricky didn't understand clearly when Gina confessed, think again. He shushed her. Kept their thing a secret from everyone. He knows he feels some type of way and she feels something too. But this boy is so used to safeguarding his childhood norms and has very little adaptability. Hence, he pretended to ignore everything between them because his home stability was falling apart and he clinged on to Nina, his constant childhood love.

He's a traumatised 16-17 year old boy that needs to heal and grow. This episode was heartbreaking because he had to accept that he had to let Nina go because their once upon a time fairytale had become toxic.

People change. I'm not the same person I was when I was 16 lmao. Being together as childhood lovers means growing together and accepting each other's growth. Which Ricky couldn't. He clutched to the idea of Nini. Even his love confession. It was sooo sweet but all he did was focus on their history.

This boy needs time to heal and maybe seek professional therapy. It would be so DAMN HISTORIC if Disney decides to take psychological issues seriously and show how he's dealing with his anxiety, pills and psychotherapy. He needs to breathe before he can be with any girl for that matter. He's hurting and isn't trying to hurt anyone on purpose. Including Gina.

Him asking her for advice on Nini was a dumb, insensitive move. But he's trying to find a way to build some supportive friendship that they shared in early season one.

As for now, this boy needs to get his own grip on life and heal.

As for our Queen Gina

In Gina's confession, she focuses on their future. She basically said, "I wouldn't quit on a possible future of us being together despite obstacles. Because I never quit. But moving away isn't in my control." Ricky deep down knows this, encouraged her to say it, teary eyed, despite right after getting back together with Nini. Gina is his future. She went to his new house. And I also have this feeling that when she was given a chance to stay, she stayed partly because of Ricky. She left a chance to be with her mom because she prioritised their relationship. Because she never quits. 💪🏼

But she came back and found out Ricky has gotten back together with Nini.😭 What she doesn't know is Ricky got together with Nina before her confession, and after Gina kept dodging his messages. She's hurt and questions why she returned because she isn't particularly close to anyone. Hence, she was so silent at the after party. She thinks it'll be fine, "she'll live", and finds other reasons to find permanence. Her arc this season has been settling down in East High, despite the pain of losing and being 'betrayed' by Ricky, she finds other reasons to stay. 🏡

This kind of contrasts her with Nina. Nina left her dream school and came to Salt Lake because she missed her established home, and not just because of Ricky. Nina returned and was loved and embraced by Ricky Bowen.💕 Gina came back to a semi new place called Salt Lake because of her promise of a future to Ricky. But she got stabbed and she bled. 💔🗡

Think about her situation. She feels confused, alone, heartbroken, out of place and seperated from her mom. She's broken and hurting too. And she doesn't need more from Ricky's accidental or intentional 'sick burns'. That's the one line where he was such a jerk and I can't defend him here. 😠

Here comes the Caswells.

Her second family. A place of healthy stability. A home that accepted her. Ashlyn, her roomie and her confidante. EJ, the misunderstood boy who saw her value and bought her plane ticket.

Let's get to EJ.

At first, I wasn't too keen on seeing Portwell's development. But then that video chat where they talk about the possibility of her staying and him convincing her. Had me sold for a solid brother-sister relationship. Few episodes later, when Gina's pain seemed to be oblivious to everyone, he was the only one who asked her how she was, and saw her glow. The comfort she must've felt.

Not that she needs a man's validation, but she must be feeling like a second choice and feeling a little insecure because of Ricky. But EJ lifts her up and I genuinely saw her smile. This boy has her back whenever. The man she can lean on and truly sees how special she is. She no longer feels alone now that she has his entire fam and other friends. She genuinely feels a place of belonging and happiness when she's the apple of his eye. Notice how happy she is? How happy this boy is? She's going through her own issues and she has found ground with EJ.

I was very doubtful when they started hinting at a romantic direction. Because EJ would be used as plot device again for a girl to get to Ricky.😤 This man doesn't deserve to be second best to anyone, just like Gina.😑 That's why I'm still hesitant on shipping them at least temporarily. EJ needs to be something even more special to Gina. They need to show each other how special and treasured they are to each other despite feeling like rejects. They are each other's source of comfort.

I'm sure they can keep EJ at East High for the next season. Whether it's the drama club, or the AV club or going to a local college. So he will be there for Gina. I don't know how they can work out a relationship with much distance as Rini's fell out when she moved away. So, if EJ leaves again, it'll again shake up Gina. Her being worried whether he'll date college girls, second thoughts, etc. I don't want them to go through that. And if they do move on to romantic Portwell, make sure it's not plot device for Rina. So you can either have Portwell endgame or Rina Endgame.

Basically I want Gina to be treated so right that she understands she doesn't need Ricky. And when he does ask her out, and he makes her feel like a second choice or a rebound, she says NO. Because EJ has helped regain her self assurance. Eventually I want Gina to confide in EJ about her and Ricky. EJ is jealous but also angry about how Ricky has been hurting her. And becomes damn protective of his 'babe'. Ricky gets jealous of their relationship, restarting Ricky and EJ's old rivalry. But this time, it's not because Gina is his girlfriend, but because she's EJ's best friend who he has a crush on and wants what's best for her.

If it's meant to be Rina endgame

EJ- RICKY, YOU IDIOT! You have no clue how to treat her right. You don't put her first. You mislead her. Get the hell away from her! She's too powerful and beautiful, she doesn't deserve your scraps. I know how she feels for you. I wish I were you. I would treat her like a queen. I don't mind even waiting years till she's ready. She deserves that. You're so lucky you have even a small chance that I may never have. So get your act together, prove you're worth it to win her over. All I want is for her to be happy. Even if it's with someone else. And maybe then I'll stop threatening you to stay away from her.😠

Ricky- .....I don't know what I'm more scared of. Change, or losing the girl I fell for or YOU. Okay, losing her but you're a close second.😬

If it's Portwell endgame.

Ricky- I messed up. Make sure you don't mess up with her. You'll regret it forever.

EJ- I'd rather get hit by thousand basketballs than ever hurt her. I'll be her plus one and her best friend until she's ready to be with me. I know she's ready now too. But I want her to know I'm willing to wait till she graduates before we make it official. I'm in it for the long game.

As for their age gap. I'm 100% sure Portwell won't kiss this season. If they do, it'll be next when Sofia turns 18. They are professional actors who are cast because they are the perfect fit for the role and are expected to carry out the storyline. But I suppose fearing some outbursts, they might delay Sofia kissing anyone till next season. It's so weird because Olivia was maybe 17 when Matt was 21-22 when they kissed in season one. But no one had a problem with that. But for this, they do. Remember, they are professional actors. They are acting! Sometimes, actors are over 10 years apart (but above 18) and act as romantic partners.

As for their characters, they are only two years apart. That's hardly any difference once you're over the age of 18. Age of consent is 16. But adults above 18 are only allowed to have sex with adults above 18. So, age isn't a problem here because EJ is a gentleman and is genuinely interested in her and isn't trying to get in her pants. So age isn't the issue when it comes to dating. It's the maturity. Gina is very mature and gives very sound advice. But I can see EJ being patient enough till she turns 18 just to kiss her because he loves her. 😚

As for the Ashlyn remark, "You look like a kid to me rn". He was JOKING.😂 Don't take things out of context. I tell my cousin sister that all the time. But she's three years younger than me and a grown adult. I don't see her as a kid but it's just a cousin teasing her younger cousin that's she's a little immature. I'm Matt's age and I'm very mature for my age and since I was a teenager, I always matched up with boys a little older than me. Now that I'm in my early 20s, I've dated boys even close to 30. So age is just a number.

EJ dating Gina and giving her quick kisses is fine. But to have a strong sexual element in their relationship (including making out), he'll have to wait till she's 18+. And I'm sure for that he'll wait till she's ready even past her early 20s. Age is really just a number and we can't help who we fall in love with. Trust me, I've been there.😂 So I can see EJ feeling conflicted about his feelings that are clear at this point.

They might not be a perfect fit, but they make each other sooo happy. They deserve a lot more than a short lived fling.😟 They are either endgame or Rina is. You can't have both as a Rina unless you're an EJ hater who wants him to exist as plot device. Nope! He's sooo much more precious than that.

But Jack on the other hand....I'm okay if he's the one to make Ricky or EJ jealous. Because he's just been introduced and it's okay if a character is used, but only once, for someone else to realize their feelings. 💁🏽‍♀️

In short.

Ricky needs help and needs to be on his own. No girlfriends allowed.🙅🏽‍♀️🚫

Needs to give both Gina and Nina space for them to grow on their own too.🌳

Ricky needs to understand the core of his problems and become more adaptable via therapy. Maybe the psychologist will point out his unresolved feelings for Gina, or he will conclude it himself. And in comes Ricky-pining-for-Gina season three.

Ricky needs to fully get over Nina before he moves on to anyone. Same for Gina if Portwell were to happen. No one deserves to be second choice.

Gina isn't Ricky's cushion. She's a living person with strong feelings for him and shouldn't be subjected to share his pain. She already struggles with her own issues.

Ricky needs to stay single till he wins back Gina and prove he's worth it. He needs to show even if another girl wants him, he'll never quit on Gina ever again. Even if he has to watch her be with someone else. *cough parallels*.

It's either romantic Rina then Portwell endgame OR Portwell flirty besties but Rina endgame. You and I can choose only one because my boy EJ shouldn't be used as plot device for a girl to leave for Ricky ever again.

Portwell's age difference can be practically solved and isn't much of an issue unless they get hot and heavy before Gina turns 18 which is impossible considering this is Disney. 🤣🤣

Jack and Gina will be plot device material and purely so sentimental to us OG Andi Mack fans. More than any ship, this is what I'm looking for. Sort of an Andi Mack crack ship for season 3a. It's gonna be soooo funny. 😍😂

I respect everyone's ship. I see what you're seeing. And I'm not going to invalidate your ship. But unless it's done right, I won't jump from the Rina ship. I liked Rini. I like Portwell. I like AU Juffy crackship haha.😂 But as for me, I'm still holding on to Rina slowburn.

Lesson 57 analysis + 58 predictions

It's less exciting than anticipated, probably.

tl;dr Summary

We start asleep, but overhearing Satan + Belphegor plotting to prank us. You can choose how to surprise and foil them. They're just here to tell you breakfast is ready. Belphegor finally rewards you with the star of diligence: MC is one star away from completing the exam and earning their sorcerer's license.

Lucifer is eager to make MC a full-fledged sorcerer because he could use them to ward off Solomon's advances, which apparently he's still making. Asmo tells us that Solomon is very picky, and driven, when he's choosing who to pact with.

And he's apparently very adamant about getting Lucifer.

The others note that Mammon and Leviathan are acting unusual, and they clearly are very distracted. We decide to ignore the strangeness for now and answer Barbatos's summons to Hotel Corvo.

And guess who is also being summoned!

We arrive, and Diavolo informs us that there's an evil phantom now haunting the hotel. Not just any ol' phantom, though: a bogeyman.

Apparently they're pretty tough and might have the upperhand against demons. They take the form of what their victims' fear most. They put several hotel guests in the hospital.

We find out that the reason why Mammon and Leviathan are being so weird is because they know they're responsible for the bogeyman being in Hotel Corvo: they went wild with Crowe upgrades and summoned it accidentally, then ordered Crowe to teleport it to Hotel Corvo after it transformed into Lucifer and scared them out of their wits.

Obviously, Lucifer's not happy! Barbatos assigns him to "fix" the problem. The brothers want to leave Mammon and Leviathan to do it on their own, but of course we can't have that.

Diavolo also seems keen on joining, but Barbatos turns on the scary fake smile and Diavolo relents.

Then the others show up! It sounds like it wasn't a planned get-together, but Solomon is eager to make the best of it. He wants to make our quest to banish the bogeyman MC's final trial.

Simeon is initially reluctant, but MC convinces him to join.

And then we're off down a creepy hallway in the hotel. The lesson ends on a cliffhanger as the creature at the end of the hallway suddenly attacks us.

Don't worry, Lucy will save us, probably.

This is the start of the trial of humility.

Analysis

Barbatos's Plan

Probably the most noteworthy thing about this lesson is how clearly Barbatos is setting all this up, even though he has no visibly obvious motivation to do so. He's summoned everyone to the same location under different auspices and he's making sure Diavolo isn't around. We still didn't get any insight on what he and Lucifer talked about, but I think Lucifer's being deliberately steered by him in this direction, too.

Since this doesn't seem to be something he's coordinating with Solomon, it leads me to believe he's either doing something to foil Michael's plan or he's setting up some kind of trap for the guy. For whatever reason, he doesn't want anyone else to catch on just yet.

Simeon's reluctance to stick around and help us is also noteworthy: he probably has Michael plans on the brain, and his intuition is probably trying to warn him. Alas, he can't say no to you.

Also, the BG being a bunch of doors and keys probably means something. Barbatos's room has multiple doors which lead to multiple places, I think: can't remember if they're just portals to different parts of the three realms or different points in time, but if I was a betting gal, I'd put my money on the latter. It doesn't look like his room (it looks like an old hotel), but I wouldn't be surprised if these doors lead to "flashbacks" similar to the ones we ran into back in the fake House of Lamentation.

The Bogeyman and Lucy's fears

It's implied that the bogeyman has powers that may make it difficult for demons in particular to cull. It sounds something an angel might be effective against, though, because Solomon insists Simeon accompany the group just in case "things go south". Though Simeon seems unsure if he can actually be effective against it.

Who do you think is stronger than Simeon, who is an archangel who was once a seraphim? He could just be downplaying his power, too: he's less threatening that way.

The bogeyman also has the ability to take the form of whoever or whatever his victim fears the most: we discover that Mammon and Leviathan fear Lucifer the most when they initially summon it.

This trial is 100% going to involve Lucifer facing what he fears the most. My guesses: it'll be either Father or Michael. They can do the former if MC doesn't necessarily see the same form Lucifer sees (they likely fear something different)... but if whatever form the bogeyman takes is noticeable to everyone observing it, then it's going to be Michael because I don't think the devs are going to give God a tangible form for reasons.

Why Lucifer could fear Michael? Simple: not only was Michael the one capable of bringing him low during the Great Celestial War, but he may know Lucifer better than anyone. All his strengths, but more importantly, all his weaknesses. Lucifer fears being exposed as flawed and imperfect, particularly by those he considers his lessers. It's also not the first time he's expressed something akin to fear re: Michael.

Another possibility is Lilith. He could fear facing her after failed to protect her. That'd be difficult to manage on-screen, though, for obvious reasons. They haven't given Lilith a canon appearance yet and it's in their best interest not to because they've been using MC as the Lilith expy in the Celestial Realm flashbacks.

Whoever or whatever it is, it'll be fun.

Solomon and his pacts

Another thing this lesson did was remind us that Solomon really, really wants a pact with Lucifer. We found out a couple lessons ago that his whole motivation behind forging a pact with Asmo was his interest in Lucifer.

Up until this point, Solomon has been pretty upfront with his desires and usually backs down when they deny his request to make a pact. He asked Belphegor back in Season 1, and he hasn't brought it up again after he was rejected.

This doesn't seem to be the case with Lucifer, though. His rejections have been ignored.

He's being unusually cavalier about this whole situation so maybe he would try to manipulate the current situation to wring a pact out of Lucifer, since he hasn't been deterred yet and something needs to change in order for him to get what he wants.

I don't know. Lucifer might be his blind spot, and something he wants badly enough to step over the line, so to speak. Why he wants Lucifer so bad is another head scratcher, but it could very well be because just because the guy is incredibly powerful.

Or this is just another red herring meant to make us suspicious of Solomon again. I guess we'll see.

Predictions

We have only three lessons left, and they set this lesson up as the lead into the climax, which is going to be later than where it was in season 2. But it can't afford to happen much later. 58 will give us the first half of the climax at least, and I won't be surprised if it wraps it up entirely in one lesson so we can have both 59 and 60 to say our goodbyes. It'll feel pretty rushed otherwise.

Michael's showing up in some capacity. I'm much more willing to bet on a face reveal now than I was at the beginning of the season: we haven't heard anything from him directly since the first flashback -- not even another chat -- and he hasn't even officially introduced himself yet. But we've been hearing all about him this season, and they've made it a point to let us know he's working on something behind the scenes. It feels like most of this season was softening the ground for his arrival, and he'll drop in to get us hyped for the next season.

I think we're headed back to the Celestial Realm, baby!

Luke's not with us at the haunted hotel, so he'll likely remain oblivious about what happened during the Great Celestial War until next season. Simeon's not gonna fall because he'll probably need to be our tour guide, and we have a bunch to explore about his background, too.

I was hoping we'd get some kind of conflict with the Sorcerer's Society as a part of the completion of the exam but I'm not sure if they can fit all that in now. Kind of disappointing: trying to smooth things over with them sounds much more interesting than Mammon + Levi just letting out a literal boogeyman. I don't think they're using their story themes as effectively as they could be. It's just Levi's tech going awry again, like it always does.

How I'll rate this season will depend entirely on what the climax actually turns out to be, but so far I'd rank it higher than season 2 but lower than season 1 because of the re-used tropes. Stop teasing us and just give us meaty conflict already.

Obey Me characters and their assigned dogs!

Okay, guys, I have a cool idea! What if like as an assignment, Diavolo decided to give everyone a dog from the human world to see how well dogs from the human world could get with demons and the students were allowed to choose which dog breed they'd want it to be. The assignment was to be for a few months long.

Here are my thoughts on which dog breeds they had been assigned and how well they raised them.

Lucifer-Doberman

At first, he wanted to just use Cerberus as his dog, but it had to be a dog breed from the human world.

Obviously, he chose a big and very intimidating dog.

He received a male dog and named him Damien.

Lucifer already knew the basics of raising a dog since he is the owner of Cerberus and all.

Within the first month, Lucifer began training Damien.

By the end of that month, Damien was probably the best guard dog in the entire Devildom.

Despite being a big and scary dog, Damien was actually a big sweetheart!

He'd always follows Lucifer around and get sad when his owner wasn't around. He especially loves doing tricks for treats.

Damien is only aggressive he senses harm coming towards him or Lucifer or when he is ordered to attack.

By attack, he just chases the brothers whenever they make Lucifer mad.

When the assignment was over and the dogs were to be brought back to the human world, Lucifer immediately locked himself in his room and cranked that record player volume to 100 all while claiming he wasn't sad.

Mammon-Italian Greyhound

Tried to sell the dog not even one days after getting it

Mammon didn't know crap about human world dog breeds so he just picked a random breed not knowing anything about it. His immediate thought was 'is this a rat?'

Mammon had received a female dog and named her Jade after Lucifer caught him trying to sell her.

At first, he wanted nothing to do with Jade until out of literally nowhere she had brought him a couple of Grimm.

Suddenly he was very interested after realizing Jade had a strange habit of finding and digging up valuables. From Grimm and small jewelry to literally buried artifacts.

Nobody knows how she does it and it's concerning that they had put her in Mammon's care.

Mammon immediately started to teach Jade how to do cute tricks to random people for treats and such.

Jade was also a very energetic dog always running around and barking at almost everyone except Mammon, MC, and MC's assigned dog.

Jade loves playing with the other dogs even if it's clear that they don't want to play.

Mammon was absolutely sobbing when Jade had to go back to the human world and absolutely didn't want to let her go.

He wasn't okay for a very long time after that.

Leviathan-Newfoundland

Just like Mammon, Leviathan didn't want to do anything with a dog until he realized some dogs were specialized in swimming.

Him being very associated with the ocean was suddenly interested when he heard about the breed Newfoundland. He thought the name sounded cool and picked that in.

Probably should have done more research because he didn't realize how huge this breed was.

He received a female dog and named her Henry 4.0

Leviathan didn't know anything about dogs and boy was it so hard for him at first.

Probably had to learn by watching animes, reading mangas, and playing games about dogs NINTENDOGS.

Actually got pretty used to having a dog really quickly and enjoyed it too.

Henry 4.0 was a really chill girl and likes sleeping on top of Leviathan. Just casually crushing the boy y' know.

She really likes laying with him while he's watching anime and playing his video games.

Their favorite activities to do are taking baths, going out to swim in the nearby river, and cosplay!

Yes, you heard that right! Cosplaying is a thing they did quite often and they always dressed up as duo characters. Of course Leviathan made the cosplays from scratch.

One good thing that this assignment did was getting Leviathan out of his room for when he would take Henry 4.0 out for walks.

Whenever Leviathan got sad he'd just hug Henry 4.0 and put his head into her fur. Henry 4.0 became kind of like an emotional support animal for him.

Leviathan absolutely refused to let them take Henry 4.0 away when the assignment was over. He even tried to hide her and threatened to summon Lotan again (which he did end up doing!)

Was very much not okay after the assignment was over.

Satan-Basenji

Satan is clearly the most educated on human world dog breeds and even though he very much prefers cats over dogs, he always did like the Basenji breed.

They are known as the 'barkless' dog and even have a somewhat reputation for acting like cats.

Satan had received a male dog and named him Benjamin.

Once the assignment began he quickly began to read books about dogs.

Satan actually surprisingly liked Benjamin rather quickly despite not liking dogs all that much.

They mostly just sat down together in the library while Satan read books and Benjamin would nap.

Benjamin was a pretty active dog and liked to play with the other dogs every now and then.

But just like Satan, he got mad a lot. Whenever someone got into his personal space while he was tired he wouldn't bark at them, but he had a pretty spooky growl.

Other than that Benjamin is actually really chill.

Satan also taught Benjamin a few tricks which may or may not be targeted at Lucifer and his assigned dog, Damien.

The number of times Benjamin was seen running away from Damien and/or Lucifer with Lucifer's paperwork in his mouth was pretty impressive.

One surprise was that Benjamin and Damien got super well with each ther much to Lucifer and Satan's dismay.

Besides the antagonizing Lucifer tricks, Benjamin didn't really know any tricks other than to sit and fetch.

Just like the other brothers he was truly sad to see Benjamin go and had one last trick to play on Lucifer before the assignment ended.

Asmodeus-Samoyed

A lot of people were expecting Asmodeus to get a small dog, but he really said no❤

He already knew about all the most beautiful dog breeds from the human world and the Samoyed was absolutely elegant.

He had received a female dog and named her Opal.

He already followed a few dog pages on the internet so he had a few basics down.

You already know he's one of those absolutely extra dog owners and honestly good for both him and Opal.

He loves taking her baths and always makes sure the dog products he uses are the absolute best.

Asmodeus even bought her a gemstone collar and I'm not talking about those leather collars with those flat little slabs, I'm talking about these kinds of collars

Yes, he's that extra and no he's not ashamed.

Opal had to be the most spoiled dog in the Devildom by the end of it.

She didn't like to play all that much unless it was with Asmodeus or MC. Pretty people only.

She almost never growled ever and she would have to be really pissed if she ever did. For example, when Mammon accidentally spilled some wet dog food on her fur, she never forgave him.

As you already know, Opal got the best kind of food a dog could eat. Asmodeus being one for best self-care, he didn't want his beloved Opal eating low-grade kibble. Only the best for his little girl.

You already KNOW he dresses her up and takes her out to the club. Loves showing her off to the fans. Likes dragging MC and their assigned dog along with them just to have fun.

Do not ever pet Opal unless you have clear permission from both her and Asmodeus and also clean your hands first. Opal's fur is too delicate and beautiful to get ruined.

Whenever Asmodeus gets drunk he always hugs Opal and cries into her fluff which she doesn't mind.

Asmodeus wouldn't stop posting pictures of him and Opal on social media and even after the assignment ended he still posted older pictures of her.

Couldn't hold back the tears after Opal went back to the human world after the assignment was over. He took her on one last spa day before the day the assignment was over and gave her the best meal.

Was crying on Devilgram Live later that day.

Beelzebub-Saint Bernard

A pretty obvious one. Just like Mammon, he knew nothing about human world dog breeds and chose a Saint Bernard because Satan suggested it.

Satan purposely suggested a big dog because if it were a small one, Beel would have eaten it.

He received a female dog and named her Biscuit. The alternatives were Big Mac and Burger, but Lucifer didn't allow it.

Ome thing these two had in common was a large appetite. Beel quickly got attached to Biscuit mostly because of that.

Beel has to be supervised while feeding Biscuit her dog food cause sometimes he'll try to eat some of her food.

Biscuit loves cuddles and is a big softie just like Beel. Though she seemed to be more of a dog for Belphie since she was always tired and sleeping.

Beel never minded though and always enjoyed walking into a room and seeing Biscuit laying with Belphie and Belphie's assigned dog.

Biscuit gets along with literally everyone including the other dogs. She always lets them do whatever just as long as they aren't harming anyone.

If you do harm her owner or his family she'll go from 0 to 101 in a second. Saint Bernards actually have a very powerful bite so it's best not to piss her off.

But out of her entire time in the Devildom with the brothers, MC, and the other assigned dogs she only really actually bit someone once and it was in self-defense.

Of this assignment had taken place during the whole Belphie attic incident, Biscuit would have been a huge emotional support animal to Beel.

If it didn't take place during that time then Beel would have loved her the same way.

Whenever he would try and work out, Biscuit would always lay on him and get in the way. She's too precious.

The only workout she wouldn't interrupt with cuteness is morning walks/runs.

One problem however is how much Beel would forget to brush her and she'd leave fur absolutely everywhere.

When the assignment was over he felt like he lost a part of himself.

He woke up the morning after looking for Biscuit to take her for their morning run and remembered that the assignment was over.

Still has her collar and leash.

Sad lad hours

Belphegor-Basset Hound

Belphie definitely was one of the brothers who didn't want to do anything with dogs and in fact, he didn't even choose a dog breed so they gave him a random one for the assignment.

Clearly whoever chose the breed for him knew their breeds well because Basset Hounds are some sleepy dogs.

He received a female dog and named her Floppy. Very creative I know.

To be honest, Belphie would be the most irresponsible of the brothers when it comes to raising a dog.

Usually, he had to be reminded a lot to care for this damn dog. Whether it's be reminded to feed her or take her on walks, he's just really lazy.

At first, he didn't like Floppy at all and thought she was ugly until Beel pointed out how much they sleep together.

It was true how much they slept together, wherever Belphie was sleeping, Floppy was either on top of him or next to him.

That's when Belphie actually began to care about her and trying to take better care of her.

He'd forget a lot of the times to do things, but he was trying.

Floppy didn't know any tricks or even bother to learn any. She didn't beg for food or play with the other dogs. She never growled or barked at all either.

Someone would literally be getting stabbed in front of her and she'd yawn.

Even though Floppy never liked getting along with the other dogs, she did like to nap with Beel's assigned dog, Biscuit.

Nobody else though. Not even MC or their assigned dog.

Floppy hated going on walks and any other activity that included having to put any effort into it.

She'd just let Belphie drag her across the ground by the leash.

Belphie was the least sad when the assignment was over. He does really miss Floppy, but he knew he wasn't the best dog owner and she deserves better.

He just wishes her well and hopes she finds a better family. Oh god, he's crying now-

tl;dr: The brothers get dogs, get attached, then get really sad once the dogs are gone.

Oh lord, this took so much longer to make than I expected. Online classes haven't been nice to me. I was going to make some art for this, but this already took way longer than I expected so I'll probably save that for another time!

So far? Transitioning. The amount of times I've questioned my gender identity is so fucking high, but I've always known that I'm more masc than femme. And now that I'm taking testosterone, it's only strictly confirmed that I wasn't "crazy" or just doing it for attention or to be different.

That's a bit complicated. I both believe in reincarnation and don't believe in it, if that makes sense. I believe in it in the sense that I believe some people can get reincarnated - but I also don't believe in it in the sense that it's probably not as simple as "reincarnated into anything". Idk if that makes sense or not tho (I also just deeply want to believe that I could be reincarnated as a fox after I die)

My concept of gender and sexuality for me specifically is very fluid - but with like specific guidelines? 😅 In general, as a whole, I feel like if someone says they're a girl, a boy, etc., or that they like girls, boys, both, etc. – then they are. Another person's gender and sexuality is really none of my business. If I ask about their gender, it's solely because I want to make sure I don't misgender them (although I will sometimes still accidentally do it - even to myself 💀). And if I ask about their sexuality, it's probably because I see them as a potential future partner and if their sexuality doesn't align with mine (i.e. if they don't like guys), it helps me make sure I don't make them uncomfortable with certain things.

I think how you think and act during a high-crisis event (like a hurricane or a hostage situation or something like that) is what shows how good of a person someone is. But that doesn't necessarily mean they're a good person - or that people who do things differently during those times aren't good people. But it definitely gives you a look into what kind of person they are. I also believe your morals and how steadfast you are in your morals will tell me a lot about you. Good versus evil when it comes to human mortality is best described (for me, anyways) with the yin-yang symbol. ☯️ The sides are white or black - but they both have a little dot of the other in them. Basically, not everyone is 100% good or bad. As for whether or not I'm a good person — I try to be. Emotions are a struggle for me to regulate properly due to my ADHD, which can sometimes tamper my ability to be nice, but I think that overall I'm a good person.

I'm not necessarily afraid of becoming old, but I am afraid of becoming one of those stereotypical old Asians - especially the ones that seems to live forever. 💀

Love - the romantic kind. And I don't mean feeling love for someone else (nah, I've got that down lmao). I mean me, being romantically loved by someone. I have never felt romantically wanted in any way, shape, or form. Have people I've dated told me I love you before? Yeah, they have. But I could tell they didn't mean it - not really. Not in a romantic sense, anyways. I want to be wanted, to be loved, to belong to someone in the way that I'm all they think about in that way. Will it ever happen? ....that's hard to say, but I have my doubts.

Oh god. I have no idea. Probably something really strange - and it would have to be asked at the strangest, most inconvenient time possible for that person.

It's usually organized by mood or whatever show/movie I'm maladaptive daydreaming about. 💀

Hate can be as strong as love. For me, it's not. I currently hate my cousin for the trauma she caused me - but it's not as strong as my love for someone.

This one is from my childhood and it's caused by a multitude of things and affirmed by the movie Ant's Life - I still hate to believe it to this day, but here it is: there are bugs somewhere in your room and they are actively trying to get to you.

I was a type of assassin called a Reaper who fell in love with this older Norse shapeshifter named Roki, but left heartbroken because I thought he couldn't and wouldn't love me, even if he didn't have anyone else. In the dream he also had a daughter named Havi but I thought she was his significant other. 💀

39. Flying - my social anxiety and paranoia would make me think that people could still see me if I was invisible.

93. If I found $500, I'd probably use some of it for bills and save the rest for a holiday to buy people gifts.
