HI HELLO LONG TIME NO SEE. Not to be an Ao3 author cliché but in the past weeks I have lost my job, got two offers and had a crisis, signed a contract with The State™ (y'know like an adult) and also started learning French so you could say I have been busy.

But I have written! I've been slowly making progress with this fic, the Spiderman AU i have been writing since *checks notes* september? ANYWAY here's a snippet

“Sorry, do you think I could sit here? There’s no more free spots today.” “I am afraid I ca—” Henry stars as he looks up from the screen of his laptop, he’s expecting a lost and douchey looking jock, instead he’s met by the most beautiful set of eyes, curly hair and eyelashes he’s ever seen, and he completely forgets what he was trying to say. “Oh.” “You can say no, I don’t want to bother you while you work but you’d really help me if I could, I can’t focus properly on the study halls, they are too loud.” The issue is, Henry likes being alone, that’s the biggest appeal of the library in fact, not having to share the space with other people. But Henry is also gay, and extremely weak when he’s in the vicinity of an attractive man so it shouldn’t surprise him when he nods, places his belongings closer to him and lets the attractive man sit on the chair in front of him.

I don’t think you truly understand how BAD Mrs. Maas’s fantasy books and the booktok copycats she spawned are until after you’ve broken out of that bubble. I genuinely enjoyed how unique Nobody’s Goddess was along with Noll being a refreshing protagonist, am living it up with The Promise of Aferi: The Wolf Queen Book 2, and I can’t wait for Beasts of Prey. Like I forgot how genuinely GOOD fantasy can be.

I haven't been to the library in YEARS. I rarely had the time or drive to read in college and in recent years all I could muster is fanfiction. Now I am reading a book series and have a reason to go to the library. Problem is...it's overwhelming. There are A LOT of libraries in my area but they are all on different systems and catalogs but yet also the same one and it is...too much.

it is a rare and precious thing for someone to choose to know and love every version of you throughout all your years, and to choose to know and love every version of them throughout all of theirs. to have played together as small children and chosen to love each other then, and to sit with each other over 20 years later, still choosing to love each other. it is a very humbling thing and almost difficult to look at directly, in the way that it's hard to look directly at the sun. it makes me feel very small but in a good way. what a gift i have been given in this life to know this
