The funniest thing about the janky shirt I made for my husband some 4 years ago (he wasn't really in a position to wear a t-shirt to work because he needed to present well in meetings with the higher-ups, and to get the grad students to take him seriously) is that in such a short time not only are more and more people wearing orange shirts, so "oh that's an orange shirt" rather than "that's a t-shirt" would come to mind, but it really feels like everyone is only wearing the ECM shirts (I saw a small handful of other shirts at the walk on campus today + one "Save the Evidence" one, which obviously counts counts as a specific NDTR shirt).
For the record, this years NDTR donation was to Survivors' Secretariat. They are a local group specifically about the Mohawk Institute. They are raising funds to search the grounds, record the names of the children taken to attend there, and create a history archive. They are not a registered charity, so you won't get a tax receipt. However I have downloaded their letter to my MP to object to the lack of funds for grounds search, so maybe they will get some of that tax money that I don't get back.
#Yes I know that the shirts are fundraisers#we wear whatever orange shirts we have#and I make a separate donation#they get a larger percentage of the money#and I don't have extra shirts lying around that we don't wear#it's win-win

50% of all revenue for my store, starting now, will be donated to CareforGaza and the PCRF.
[ PURCHASE MY ANTHOLOGIES HERE ]
hi there! i'm lindi. you may have seen some of my comics floating around in the past year or so.
if you’ve ever liked my stories and wanted to purchase a copy of one of my anthologies, I invite you to do so now. This policy will be in place indefinitely, and the list of charities/organisations may be subject to change depending on their effectiveness. Currently, the focus is on providing aid and food to the innocent Palestinians in Gaza, but in the future I hope to increase the scope to tangibly support the queer community and help fund independent artists in Australia.
below, I'll list a few resources for people who'd like to directly donate at the source:
credible organisations that are doing work on the ground in Palestine:
Care for Gaza:non-profit charity that distributes money, food and other resources directly to families in Gaza. They maintain a regular presence on Twitter and Instagram. You can donate to them via Paypal here.
PCRF / Palestine Children's Relief Fund: non-profit organisation that distributes essential food and resources to families in Gaza. Most recently, they delivered 30 tons of vital medicine, and 82,000 pounds of flour.
Medical Aid For Palestinians: deploys medical teams to treat Palestinians suffering under Israel's malicious bombardments.
help people leave palestine (donate what you can)
Save Sanaa and her Family (Gofundme)
Save Amjad Saher and his family (Gofundme)
Help a family of 13 escape Gaza (Gofundme)
Help a Palestinian children's book illustrator save her family of 12 (Gofundme)
#disclaimer: I do want to say that I'm also regularly donating a significant portion of my own personal funds and have been for a while#however I think these additional donations will make all the difference.#just donating alone isnt gonna stop the genocide happening in gaza but im trying to put my money where my mouth is#thank you all in advance for your generosity#i appreciate the audience ive cultivated here immensely#and if nothing else i hope this weeds out the trash that mightve lingered here. somehow.#dont dare try separate the art from the artist with me.#everything ive ever made and will ever make stands with palestine from now until it sees its liberation#free palestine#palestine

my (divorced) parents have both asked me what i want for my birthday. i'm tempted to tell them the same thing and see which one does it better.
#i hate coming up with gift ideas man just donate to my favorite charity and stop bothering me#but it's just occurred to me i could be like 'a cinnamon roll.' and then see what happens#downside: my mom at least would probably try to deliver it to me in person the day of which means i'd have to talk to someone#on my birthday. a thing i hate to do#upside: potentially two free cinnamon rolls!!!#my posts#also technically my parents are double-divorced now so my mom‚ dad/stepmom‚ and stepdad could all separately#get me cinnamon rolls. man people talk a lot about how children of divorce get twice as many christmas presents but who cares#about that. let's talk cinnamon rolls#i need my parents and stepparents to get married and divorced enough times for a baker's dozen#trying to collect the whole set over here. need to strategize how to blow up my dad's marriage#and how to make my mom and stepdad get married to their respective partners and then divorce them

I've seen a lot of bad takes on here (this site is basically the bad takes hall of fame tbh) but something that's particularly interesting to me is people that preach critical consumption of media until the creator of said media is actually a bad person, then you're in extreme danger of ingraining their bad sentiments and becoming Bad by virtue
#media literacy#separating art from the artist#i marginally enjoy yandere simulator#it's a largely shit game for a lot of reasons but i see merit in the concept and i like the art style#mainly i'm just interested in the fanfics where people make something fun out of it and fix the glaring problems#should its creator be behind bars? abso-fucking-lutely#but me refusing to give the game attention isn't going to make that happen#every time i see something like this it just reeks of performative activism to me#if you actually care about these issues and want to make a difference in the world donate to charity or sign petitions#instead of harassing people online for what books or games they like

As a general rule of thumb, if you want to make a call to action or educate people on a matter, you really need to leave your guilt-tripping, bitterness, and personal donation links out of it. All of that stuff will get in the way of whatever point you're trying to make and reduce good-faith engagement. It's not about whether you're right or wrong, it's about writing an effective message
#musings#i talked about most of this stuff in the tags of a previous post#but if you're trying to convince people not to donate to a cause or organization#you should NOT add 'donate to me instead' at the end of that#even if you need money it's just a bad look and is probably gonna drive people away#make your donation posts and your persuasive/educational posts separate if you want people to take you seriously

I've updated the list of charities and I urge you to donate or at least share the post if you are not able to.
I usually put charities that benefit Artsakhi armenians directly in the "Urgent" category but as you can see the fundraiser for Armenians from Jerusalem is also there - they are just 5% away from their goal at the time of posting, so consider helping them out! In this post you can briefly learn about the situation. If you are US-american, I also strongly urge you to contact you representatives about resolutions listed in this post.
Artsakh has been blocked for 2 weeks 100+ days already, 120.000 people are deprived of their human rights, many of them are children. Tomorrow is Christmas, and on this very special holiday consider supporting indigenous christian nation by donating to good causes.
After 9 months of total blockade and after heavy shelling by the fascist dictatorship of Azer/baijan, the population of around 120.000 indigenous armenians had to flee Artsakh. Armenia is a small country, its population numbers at just a little below 3 million people - to accomodate more than 100k people, who left everything behind and need to find new places to live and work at, is a heavy task. Consider donating to the charities listed here.
URGENT:
Solar Haghorti - provide hot water to the Haghorti village in Artsakh
Sunrise in Artsakh - solar water heaters for Artsakh (please read the page, donation button is in the text, it's easy to miss)
Greenhouse Project - building greenhouses to overcome the challenges faced by Artsakh’s loss of land after the war as well as the blockade
Greenhouses and Beekeeping for Artsakhi Armenians - help Artsakh families to rebuild their lives in Armenia and create food secure and climate resilient communities
Legal Defense Fund for Jerusalem Armenians - help the Armenian Community of the Old City of Jerusalem as it stands in defense of its survival and security
OTHER:
Armenian food bank - food, clothing, medicine
VIVA foundation - doctors and medicine (25% of what I get from my winter commissions will go here)
All for Armenia - support vulnerable populations, displaced families and border communities in Armenia
Kooyrigs - aid for those living in areas highly targeted by azer\\baijan
MIASEEN - stability for families in need
LGBTQ+:
Pink Armenia - serves community's needs, protects LGBTQ+ people's rights and pushes for the change of public policy around LGBTQ+ issues
GALAS - supportive network for LGBTQ+ people, promotes their personal empowerment within their communities and helps to build bridges between the LGBTQ+ and Armenian communities
Right Side - community-based rights defender non-governmental organization for the protection of transgender people and sex workers in Armenia
#boost this please#i've decided to sit out this winter at home which means i will be opening commissions to donate to viva as i did last time#i will open them around december 10th - i will make a separate post a few days prior#this update was wild to write to be honest i don't think i have fully processed everything yet. tmi. anyways -#don't stop donating/sharing info/talking about armenia#q

Because a monster has never been anything more than a human in a mask. Because a monster breathes, and their heart beats and their brain thinks, and it is the choice, the decision to harm others that makes them a monster. More often than not monsters are people who grew up hurt and terrified and never had the space to process it so they never stopped being scared.
And when you try to stop being a monster you have to acknowledge that you were a monster. That you have been a monster. And what does that mean for you? You, what, just get to get better, now? And what about your victims? They just have to get better too?
And if you want to stop a monster, you have to attack a person, who is terrified and has given up on themselves and is hurting others because of it, but a person none the less.
You don't get to pretend they're just a monster because they hurt someone. I'm not even saying you can't kill them, you just have to mourn them too. You have to recognise this is no dragon, no dark lord, no creature of myth, this is a person who was hurt for so long that they internalised that hurt as correct.
Every movie with a sentient villain is a zombie movie, in a sense. And people walk around as if evil exists. As if the devil has ever been more than the face in the mirror. You don't get to pretend you're better than the monsters because you are blind to their humanity.
The monster is man. It always has been.
And the argument that I see with my stance Is that, I argue that all ‘evil’ stems from a person being actively harmed at some point to a degree where they internalised it, so what was the first thing? What was the first god awful Domino in this chain of anguish?
I think it was nature. People being eaten. People starving. People freezing and drowning and dying everywhere. I think the devil's name is generational trauma, and I think his song is the little fear in your head. The things you think but won't look at for fear that their answer would be too damning.
Everytime you feel that tingle of dread and brush it aside without inspection, that's the devil whispering your name. Because the devil is all of us, on a day worse than today.
(How else would he be in both your mirror and mine?)
#vent#philosophy#the way people understand good and evil makes me fucking insane#there is something so deeply upsetting about online discourse about fucking nonsense that everyone treats as legitimate#the notion that punishing anyone for anything would ever fucking stop them if you didn't kill them is absurd#none of this stupid middle shit#stop dicking around#kill or reform#whats it gonna be#because just punishing them only makes them sneakier and angrier#this goes for absolutely all bad things#without exception#also? fuck all that Christian holier than thou shit. you wanna help? make a real fucking stance on something and fight for it#i dont even care if its for or against the shit i stand for#just make a goddamned CHOICE#none of this 'praying for you' shit.#if you think someones in danger#pick up a weapon or admit you arent actually that invested#snd yes donating can help yoo in certain situations but also separately the way people talk about areas in bad situations riles me to hell#but thats a whole separate rant

every day i get on this app i'm reminded that there's still people on god's green earth who like harry potter. not a huge fan of that, frankly
#scary crane rambles#not fandom#i will not tag this as harry potter. i dont want that shit showing up on my goddamn tag reccomendations#anyways. people realize there are books about silly wizard school that weren't written by terfs. right#like. i get it. let people enjoy things and all that. but harry potter isnt really something that you can just. separate from its artist#jk rowling has specifically made harry potter synonymous with her name. yknow what else shes done that with????#and even posting about it while not directly giving anyone money for anything still indicates that there's a demand for hp-related things#and so there'll be more. and more people will give jk rowling money. and shes gonna donate it to places that want to take away trans rights#and let me reiterate: it isnt JUST that shes awful#she is GOING OUT OF HER WAY to be awful.#and is also going out of her way to make as many people either supportive or complicit in her awfulness as possible#and harry potter is how shes trying to do it#like. sorry if i hurt your feelings but as someone whos openly transgender i dont feel comfortable with hp enjoyers anywhere near me

GAZA 😭😭🇵🇸🔗⬇️
support us we lost our home and our workes😔💔
My children are sick from the cold and the spread of diseases, and they are all in pain. I have been displaced with my children many times, and each time we had to bleed her precious evacuation money to buy transportation and transportation.
These conditions are absolutely catastrophic. It's the end of the world. No child, no mother, no person should have to go through this.
You can help by donating and sharing so we don't have to struggle anymore. All we are hoping for is to get enough money to evacuate to Cairo so we don't have to rely on the black market for simple things like food anymore.
You can help.
Please take time out of your day to donate to my family, our campaign is moving very slowly and we need your help.
Please help my family get out of this hell. We, like all human beings, deserve safety, comfort, and warmth, and now you have a way to help provide these things for us.
https://gofund.me/5770752d.
Dear, please don't let me down, we deserve life and we deserve your generosity and kindness towards us, you are our lifeline and with your generosity you give us life even a little, but you relieve us of injustice and the cursed war, you are the hope and life once again, be side by side hand in hand, we will make a big difference with faith, strength, will and determination, we will reach the goal, we are very close, I hope you participate and contribute if you can. 💜🇵🇸🍉🍉💐💐.
I am a mother of three beautiful little girls, Sana and Hanan. Hla has been sick recently and Hla needs to be vaccinated very soon, but I can tell you that the situation has been very difficult in Gaza and the campaign has been slow lately.
Thank you to everyone who donated and participated from the bottom of my heart, but my campaign needs more support and interaction. I think that my campaign did not receive the required interaction and attention. It is not my fault that I am Palestinian so that I do not receive support. I think that other campaigns and non-Arab campaigns take momentum from interaction and support. It is not my fault that a Palestinian is marginalized for the sake of my children, humanity, and children's rights. Help m🙏🏻🙏🏻💔💔.
My name is Tahani, I am 30 years old from Gaza and I have three very young children, Sana, Hanan and my youngest, Hala, who grew up during the war. Our house was destroyed, I was displaced several times and I am currently separated from the rest of my family - my husband, brothers, sisters and parents. I cannot tell you how stressed I am.
@xxx-sparkydemon-xxx @lampthehealthminister @baandar @doug-dimmadumb @astronotesstuff @prokyon @the-bitch-isback @aceofrage @intheindustrynow-blog @horrorcore2002 @thescavenger29 @yvening @springcres @meowmaids @akaratna @ezras-turtleneck-blog @fagarlic @grandpom @omens-augury @pianta @kingtransgender @friendlizard @intricatecakes @marbirds @error-core-animations @block-swing-perry @br-eddrolls @kraigerzz-blog @daily-click-reminders @commissions4aid-international @anneemay @tumkaafiho @balaclava-trismegistus @ripley-stark @mangocheesecakes @bees-fantasies @girl4pay @turtletoria @rikebe @esperantoauthor @starless-gaze @frehsca
I am doing my best to take care of my children by myself, despite facing hunger, thirst, disease and the threat of death. The other day, there was heavy shelling near me and another family close to us was killed. Life in Gaza is now hell and I tell you that we are living as if we are waiting for our turn to die.
I am Tahani from Gaza, I am 30 years old. I stand before you as a person trying to maintain my family. I am married and a mother of three children: Sana, who is seven years old, Hanan, who is five years old, and a girl named hla. She grew up during the war and in very harsh conditions that no human being can bear. I moved from the hospital directly to the tent. I cannot describe the extent of the suffering and difficulty of living in the tent.
But I need help. The situation in Gaza is very bad right now, with the IDF preventing aid from entering and the food, water and medicine that is available are very expensive. Please share and donate to help me and my children survive and eventually leave Gaza.
Thank you all. I hope you will support me to save my life and the lives of my children🇵🇸🍉🍉.
‼️Please don’t skip taking a look 🍉🇵🇸.
We are trying to survive in miserable conditions in tents in Mawasi Deir al-Balah, south of Gaza. It is difficult for me to find the words to describe what we face every day in Gaza. No food, no medicine, no clean drinking water, oppression, helplessness, psychological pressure, doubts and daily trauma due to the loss of loved ones. In Gaza, it is not only hunger, disease and fear; it means actual death.
We have been forced to move more than 7 times, and my house has been completely destroyed, and I cannot provide enough milk, diapers, medicines, and vitamins for my children.💔🍉🇵🇸😭
Now, I find myself in this difficult situation, and I strongly and humbly ask for your help to save the lives of my family, especially my children, by getting us out of Gaza. The situation in Gaza has become unbearable due to slow death as a result of hunger, thirst, displacement, the spread of diseases and continuous bombing.🍉🇵🇸💔
The past months have been full of hell and horror. This war has gone on for too long, and our mental health and lives are constantly at risk. We have reached a point where there is no hope anymore in Gaza, as if we are waiting for death. Even if a ceasefire is reached, the devastation in Gaza in all its forms cannot be quickly repaired
Please help me and my children to get us out of genocide🍉🇵🇸💔.
Your help will contribute greatly to alleviating our suffering. I hope you will share my story with your family and friends.💔💔
I will be forever grateful for your kind assistance in this difficult time🇵🇸🇵🇸
Thank you for your kindness and generosity❤️.

“The children are always ours, every single one of them, all over the globe; and I am beginning to suspect that whoever is incapable of recognizing this may be incapable of morality.”
― James Baldwin
the way colonizers unchild Palestinian kids is so heartless and disturbing. colonialism crushes children's dreams ON PURPOSE to try to destroy indigenous people's futures.
Wafaa's nephew Ahmed is 17. Because of this genocide, he went from playing soccer on his high school team, to playing with the other kids in his refugee camp in the rare moments between his odd jobs to support his family during famine, and volunteering as an aid worker to help other families. Ahmed lost many of his teammates, including his best friend Mahmoud, who he saw martyred.
Ahmed's cousin Yazid is 18. He planned to marry his high school sweetheart after their first year of college, but the genocide stopped their education. Yazid's fiancee's father was martyred and Yazid is now working to support both his family and hers. He also volunteers alongside Ahmed, risking their lives as the genocidal IOF targets aid workers -- Ahmed has even been injured by drones targeting him.
I'm not saying all this to make them look like superheros (although they are both wonderful people). I just want you all to see how totally the genocide has shattered their childhoods, and how much they have to struggle to resist that violence and hold the pieces together, and how the free world has failed to care for them.
fortunately there is a way we can help them.
Wafaa @wafans-blog is currently raising money to evacuate Ahmed and Yazid. This is time sensitive -- she needs to pay the registration fees to Hala Company within the next 2 days, by August 11th.
The full amount needed to evacuate Wafaa's entire family is $80,000; to cover the upcoming fees we need to get to $40,000 by the 11th. We're nearly there but donations are slowing.
Please reblog, and most importantly, donate any amount you can spare. Those $5s add up if enough people help. So much of the world is so hostile to Palestinian boys, please stand up for Yazid and Ahmed and help them escape. Don't let them get separated from their family, don't leave them behind.
August 9th: $35,914 / $40,000

En såndär bockjävel eller vad fan det heter
↳ sytråd och virknål 0,6 mm + bonus: biblically accurate julbock
Note: I moved this under a read more since donations can no longer be made here. Feel free to make some to a charity of your choice though!
Did you know it used to be the Christmas goat that brought you your presents in Sweden?
To keep the spirit alive, you can officially make a donation in the name of this little crochet goat to support everyone's right to survive their pregnancy! Just go to this link and follow these steps:
Please note that this collection only remains active until 15 Dec 2024! More information about the organisers can be found at the bottom of this post.
On the right hand side/top of the linked page, you can see the current sum of donations. Below that are some options we need to fill out to make a donation of our own.
First we need to disclose whether the donation is being made by a private individual (Privatperson) or a business (Företag). I'm assuming you're a private individual, so leave the first option selected (on the left).
Next we choose the method of payment. "Swish" is a Swedish payment service that won't work for foreigners, and if you're Swedish I'm assuming you already know how it works. Foreigners, please choose the second option to pay by card (Kort).
Now for the fun bit! How much do you want to donate? The standard options are presented in Swedish krona (kr). I have put the rough exchange rates to US dollars for each option below:
50 kr ≈ $4.56 | 100 kr ≈ $9.13 | 300 kr ≈ $27.38
You can convert from your currency to Swedish krona using this tool. Just choose your own currency in the first drop-down menu ("from").
In the final field you have the option to instead enter your own amount, if you want to give less or more or in between any of the previous options. Note that the amount you enter is in Swedish krona, so look up the exchange rates so that you know how much you are giving if you choose this option!!
The final two check boxes are options that relate to the public display of your donation (see the bottom of the page). If you don't check either option, your donation amount will be visible but your name will not be.
Check the first box if you want your name to show up in the public list of donations, leave it unchecked to remain anonymous. Check the second box if you want to hide the amount you've donated, leave it unchecked to show the world your donation amount.
Finally, hit the red button to be taken to the payment page. Fulfil the payment, and be sure to double check the amount you're donating. Note that we use commas instead of dots to separate decimals in Swedish, so 50,00 kr means simply 50 kr.
And that's it! Thank you so much for your donation!! 🥳🐐
Please reblog this post so that more people will hopefully donate, or at least get to enjoy a tiny Gävlebock!
What is this charity thing?
Musikhjälpen is an annual charity event organised by the Swedish public broadcasters. Every year in December, 3 hosts are locked in a glass cage for a week and they broadcast in shifts, nonstop for 144 hours (6 days, 24 hours per day) to create an occasion for charity donations. They are visited by various music artist, celebrities, and talk to people who have special knowledge about the donation theme of the year or who organise initiatives for donations. You can watch clips of previous performances on their youtube channel here.
The event's official donations website also allows the public to set up their own "initiatives", to which donations can be made. This is what I have done! The money goes directly to the event organisers (the public broadcasters' aid agency, Radiohjälpen), who then pool all the money that is collected during the week. After the week is done they will begin portioning it out to trusted charities that are relevant to this year's theme. This year's theme is Alla har rätt att överleva sin graviditet, or in English: Everyone Has a Right to Survive Their Pregnancy.
Learn more about musikhjälpen on English Wikipedia or on Sveriges radio's website (in Swedish).
Or
If you prefer, the goat will be just as happy if you make a donation to a charity of your choice. You'll have to find links to other causes on your own though! 😊
I should probably also mention that I am in no way officially affiliated with Gävlebocken, I just crocheted a little guy and thought it would be nice to spread some constructive spirit among all the calls for arson. 😇

george michael, who died seven years ago today, spent his life making private donations to organizations fighting AIDS, homelessness and poverty, including a donation to omwabini in west kenya that helped it grow to new heights. one story alleges he overheard a stranger in a cafe speaking of her debts and had a waitress give her a check he wrote for 25,000 pounds after he left. he anonymously volunteered at homeless shelters. he held a free concert for NHS nurses for his gratitude for his mother's care during her battle with breast cancer. sali hughes stated that he once tipped a barmaid five thousand pounds to help with her debts. he facilitated a trip for 250 disabled and terminally ill children to take a holiday vacation to lapland. when doing press for his big album drop for "older," he gave the exclusive to big issue, a paper devoted to helping unhoused people make income. he donated thousands to two separate women who he saw on television trying to pay for IVF -- one of them found out she was pregnant the day he died. radio dj mick brown said george quietly donated 100,000 pounds every easter to Help a London Child to support poor children.
these are only a few of the charitable acts he did. he did many of these things anonymously, intentionally so. but the thing is when you do so many things that touch so many lives, they tend to outlive you long after you're gone. i think of him every Christmas, and i wish he was still with us. but i'm glad we had him at all.

HELP A MOTHER AND HER 3 CHILDREN EVACUATE FROM GAZA
Hello everyone, Ola has reached out to me and asked if I could make a post for her.
She has two sons, Yamen and Qusai, and a daughter who was born shortly after the beginning of this latest series of attacks by Israel, who has never seen a moment of peace. Her name is Mira. Shortly before October 7th, Ola's husband left for Egypt in order to pick up some medicine. He has been unable to get back to his family, they have been separated for over a year due to this conflict. Ola and her children have been displaced more than 8 times, traveling from place to place in Gaza. They need your help.
OLA AND HER FAMILY HAVE BEEN VETTED BY @/GAZAVETTERS AND YOU CAN CHECK TO CONFIRM HERE (#60) YOU CAN DONATE TO HER FUNDRAISER HERE
By sharing this post, you help spread Ola's story to other people. By donating, you help make sure Ola can afford food for herself and her children, and help her save up enough to pay for the fee to cross from Gaza into Egypt. Anywhere from €5 to €10 can go a long way towards helping keep this family well

In ASL and SSL, this is the gesture for "Inshallah," which means means "God willing"; it's used to express hope that a specific future event will come to pass.
🇵🇸 Things you can do below 🇵🇸
🍉 SHARE posts from Palestinians, especially journalists on the ground (copy link on IG works just as well as sharing?). They're literally dying for that footage 🙃 let's make sure it counts
🍉 DONATE an E-sim @connectinghumanity_ on IG
🍉 DONATE to @CareForGaza (Twitter; donation links should be on their profile too). A lot of donation drives are just... making a grab at clout but this one is legit; a number of Gazans confirm that the food/produce is getting to them. The organizer seems to be Palestinian and living there as well
🍉 BOYCOTT brands listed by @bdsnationalcommittee on IG
Official boycott targets: AXA, Puma, Carrefour, Siemens, Ahava, HP, Sodastream, any products from Israel
Organic boycott targets: Domino's, McDonald's, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Wix
🍉 PRESSURE your governments & officials to call for a ceasefire and #InvokeGenocideConvention at the ICJ (rootsaction.org)
🍉 PROTEST. If there are mobilizations in your area, show up to be part of the count. No heroics—do what you feel safe doing and listen to the organizers.

it was also important to me to include an Al-Qassam fighter in this, because they're often scapegoated by Western media, and also by well-meaning allies who say "but civilians are not Hamas"; there's this attempt to separate militant resistance from the process of liberation as a whole
Yeah, most civilians are not Hamas, but they don't denounce them either. Palestinians call them freedom fighters, protectors.
because the resistance is not a bunch of evil, violent outliers; they are as much victims of the occupation as the women, children, and non-combatants are. Most if not all of them were born under the occupation; a good percentage of them are also orphans.
I will never condemn boys who live along the coast but have never seen the sea.

And end to the violence can't mean a return to business as usual, where the occupation and apartheid continue and Palestinians are still getting displaced on their own land. it will still take decades to rebuild homes. priceless historical and cultural items & structures have been callously destroyed and can never be recovered. nearly all the children in gaza have been made disabled and traumatized and murdered—what kind of future will they inherit?
israel must be abolished. They, the US, Canada, and the EU, must pay
Inshallah, we will not stop at a ceasefire
Inshallah, we will see complete liberation for Palestine
#Palestine#from the river to the sea palestine will be free#free palestine#my art#artists for palestine#the bracelet on the toddler is also a reference to Plestia's cousin making them bracelets with their names#so their family could easily be identified if any of them ever died
