I gotta say, it took me a bit to really get into Rune Factory 3 (in fact when I first got the game and tried it out I quit after like two hours and didn't touch it for a few months just because the gameplay was a bit janky and it was missing some quality-of-life stuff I was used to having in 4 and 5 and I got really frustrated), but on my second foray into the game it really sucked me in. I might even like the story and especially the romance aspect better than the other games.

I really appreciate that the romance is a forced part of the narrative; you literally can't access the final dungeon and beat the game until you pick a girl to marry. And BECAUSE of that, this game went hard on actually developing the girls and giving you ample time to spend with them. The request system basically functions as a "route" for each girl, and while I've only completed (9/9 one-time quests done) a few of them (Raven, Daria, Marian) I've really enjoyed everything thus far and felt the relationships develop from strangers to friends to love.

And unlike 4 and 5 where I have clear favorites in terms of who to marry, I honestly don't know who I'm going to pick yet. The only girls I'm NOT particularly interested in are Carmen, Colette, and Kuruna. All the other girls are great and I'd be happy to marry any of them, though I AM leaning towards Raven, Marian, or Sakuya (who I WOULD have completed already if not for some of her events being locked behind plot progression...).

Add to that the fact that this fic adds tropes that make perfect sense in this verse, and you've got yet another fic that's worthy of becoming a classic. Good Omens Fan Fiction Friday (7/4/25) - Memory Loss

Fic writers have penned amazing memory loss fics after its central role in season two of Good Omens. Some are heartbreakingly tender. Others are ridiculously silly. Whether set in the canon universe or a human AU, stories of memory loss are amazingly rich. Here are a few of my favorites.

First up is Save Me (T) by atimefeeler/@atimesfeeler. Anthony wakes up in the hospital suffering from a concussion and no memories. He also finds a note, written in blood, threatening him. While trying to figure out who he is, he decides to keep his memory loss a secret. After all, anyone in his phone contacts could be a potential killer. Even the mysterious "Angel." This is a tense but also tender story. It's a lovely example of how our favorite demon and angel are drawn together even when one of them doesn't remember why.

In ain't no cure for love (E) by @may--hawk, Crowley experiences strange things in the bookshop after Aziraphale returns to heaven. This is a thrilling story I don't want to spoil any more than I already have by including it on this list. But it makes smashing use of Terry Pratchett's L-Space. Definitely worth a read--especially if you need a speculative season three to tide you over until the finale arrives. A couple sit at a table reading a note that says one of them is an angel and the other is a demon. They have half an hour to figure out which is which or face the consequences in guess who (T) by attheborder/@areyougonnabe. It's a silly bit of South Downs fluff.

Aziraphale wakes as a 38th order scrivener missing his memories with a cryptic note he left for himself in Light the Corners of my Mind (G) by cyankelpie/@ineffable-kelpie. He has to figure out what happened. Unfortunately, the one being who might be able to help is avoiding him. This is one of a series of amnesia flicks by cyankelpie that I haven't read. But I loved this one. It was tender and emotional.

@eggysoupy writes about Crowley telling Aziraphale he loves him through the ages in everything i've had but couldn't keep (T). But for some reason, he never remembers doing it. It's as sweet as the song that inspires the title.

After the Armageddon't, Crowley arrives at the bookshop to pick up Aziraphale for their date. But the angel has no memory of him. Strangers Again (patria sine memoria) (M) by doric_column tells the story of Crowley trying to figure out what happened. It's such a clever story that evolved as the writer watched season two. And it finishes in such a satisfying way. I loved it!

Moving on to human AUs, we have How Could I Forget (E) by JessnotJessie. Aziraphale and Crowley love each other and have never admitted it. When Crowley falls and suffers a head injury in his plant shop, bookseller Aziraphale stays by his side. Surprisingly, the injured man with brain damage is not the only person forgetting things.

Grab your tissues. You'll need them when reading A Little Life (E) by @gaiaseyes451. Professor Crowley and bookseller Ezra fall in love and create a long and wonderful life together. No spoilers. But mind the tags.

Let's finish with a WIP I've been enjoying quite a bit, Still We Know Each Other So Well (E) by @paperclipninja. More than half way finished, this story asks the question, "What would happen if both Crowley and Aziraphale lost their memories?" It's an engaging mystery. Give it a look. This is one of the darker theme of Ascendant Astarion "50 shades of 'FCKNG LITTLE TWAT' Ancunin" as one of the comment says haha some scenes are "traumatic" but the rollercoaster ride of emotions you'll get on this story is one for the books! ONGOING!

Fangs and Fractured Hearts - by @fangsandfracturedhearts - This one's one of the softer sides of the Ascendant, the dynamic of Tav and Astarion here is exquisite! The cliffhanger on this one just uggghhhhh. i love it!! ONGOING!

Hellish Rebuke by @bludazey this one's a classic! the details on this story is so genius I swear. Also I think a lot of Astarion fanfic writers got inspired with the Devil's dealing here. Also Tav here is effing smart and just chef's kiss! such a great heroine! ONGOING!

I first came across the movie through seeing a couple clips on youtube with the bird and tiger, and my initial impressions were honestly kinda iffy, tbh i've gotten a bit of a sixth sense from over the years and can usually tell if i'm gonna vibe with a piece of media or not.

But after listening to a couple of the songs and seeing some pretty cool fanart I decided to at least give a try.

The art and animation is fun and colourful, it uses a lot of very zany animesque expressions which can be fun for the most part, but there are a couple times were it can come across as bit much and weird in an off-putting way in certain scenes. The animation is that choppy style like spiderverse which is fun.

The music is nice if kinda forgettable, although I have a pretty bad memory so my standards of a song being memorable are gonna be a lot higher than most, Golden and Soda Pop are my faves.

The comedy is pretty hit or miss, some funny moments here and there, but other moments just aren't my cup of tea. Some times it can feel kinda whiplashy, jumping between serious and comedic moments.

The characters are kinda underwhelming for the most part, the main girls at least have recognisable personalities.

Zoey who is probably my fave of the main trio, Huntrix, is the bubbly silly one, who we're told is a people pleaser? but never really shown that, she does some mediating between Mira and Rumi, when the Huntrix see the Saja Boys performing she is the one to suggest they seem nice which seems to suggest she's the most open-minded but that goes nowhere.

Mira is bad girl type of character, quick tempered and the most battle hungry, one notable scene is when Rumi says that don't have time for Mira's insecurities which feels like it comes out nowhere? self-projection maybe? Idk I thought that moment was weird.

Rumi is a workaholic? I guess? and is stressed.

We also know that Rumi is part demon, like from birth I'm assuming or maybe Rumi's mother made some sort of deal? did her mother fall in love with a demon? how did her mother die?

If we look at the end the movie is giving this sort of accept your flaws and don't hide who you are message, like Inside Out type of message were your negative emotions like anger and sadness are important too and having a healthy balance of emotions is important, only Inside Out actually handled that message well where KPDH just feels like a thrown together mess with serious lack of build up.

Jinu is kinda interesting, starts of with manipulation but over time starts to develop some actual feelings, he's definitely wracked with guilt and trauma and with Gwi-Ma breathing down his neck he is convinced himself he's nothing but an evil demon and that's it, no hope of redeeming himself, but there is hope and does prove himself by the end by sacrificing himself, which tbh the whole redemption via life sacrifice is not a trope I honestly vibe with that much, like it depends, I think this instance is more or less fine I guess idk not entirely sure how I feel about it.

Also like I've seen some people making the arguments that he's pure evil and doesn't deserve a redemption which just no, redemption isn't about whether about someone deserves it, it's about owning up to wrong doings and becoming a better person.

like some stories/characters are perfect with pure evil characters while work better with redemptions or morally complexity, it just depends on what the writers want out of the story.

the whole this character did this or that so they don't deserve redemption is just whole load of hogwash to me.

Also tbh Rumi and Jinu relationship felt underwhelming and just kinda meh.

Aside from Jinu, none of the other Saja Boys feel like actual characters and more so feel like props, tbh I feel like if they had been cut from the movie nothing would be much different, they have nice designs but that's it, feels like they solely exist for the purpose of a cheap joke and eye candy.

Bobby, the Huntrix's manager is there I guess? honestly I think I would have been better if Celine was their manager, that way there could have been more build up and scenes between the girls. What if Celine was the sort of toxic manager and this could have added more weight to Rumi's rant when she was having her demonic crash out.

Bobby could have popped up through the movie a couple times helping the girls and at the end of the movie be their new manger, I feel that would have been a nicer idea, oh well hey-ho, maybe it's an idea I could use for a fic.

Also it felt like they were hinting at a plotline of Bobby feeling neglected and ignored by the girls throughout the movie which again goes nowhere, just kinda weird.

Maybe the fault lies in time constraint? cuz a lot of moments especially towards the end of the movie just sorta happen without flow or a proper reason that gets shown, like Rumi going from super angry at Celine and going all demony to immediately going back and fighting against the demons and she and Mira and Zoey saving the day without any real issue or struggle it just sorta happens, with Jinu sacrificing himself and getting into a sword because why not and sealing all the other demons away which just feels weird cuz like the movies brings up the idea that hey maybe not all demons are bad, then when the only one that gets redeemed by killing themselves is dead they just put barrier back and that's it.

Also what's the deal with the bird and tiger? are they demons? do they have sapience? we see them at the end of the movie, like what's there deal?

honestly there is just too many unanswered questions.

messy, weird, rewatching it I like it a bit more than my first viewing, but I still have several issues.

TLDR: It's an ok movie, maybe two or three out five stars depending if the type of comedy used is your thing, the art and animation is nice, the music is decent though mostly forgettable, the story writing feels rushed and messy in places, a lot of the characters feel underdeveloped and underutilised.

If you wanna watch something with a similar type of plot I'd either recommend something like Sailor Moon or some of the Precure seasons cuz they do the whole big bad using underlings to steal power and attempt takeover, and of the seasons I have seen there is a nice mix evil and morally complex villains with really nice writing.

Or MLP: Equestria Girls - Rainbow Rocks, for the whole battle of the band thing and also having energy stealing takeover plot.

character descriptions below if ya interested

i know those who know of my tavs prefer the markolac twins but this is my current fave save (i'm even writing a way-too-lengthy novelization of the playthrough focusing on their perspectives). In order I've got:

Dark Urge - Dark Urge character (duh), Dragonborn Storm Sorcerer Though he calls himself the Dark Urge, Briar calls him Whitey while Dyven calls him Frostbite. He's stoic and rather withdrawn, but well-spoken with quietly expensive tastes. He says very little, but what he does say can be a little pretentious and surprisingly verbose. As expected, he's quick to annoy, and often seethes with frustration. He's also somewhat infatuated with Briar because of the unique bond they've built through their experiences. His subconscious weeps for murder and calls him to spill blood, but his disconnect from these urges cause him to reject them in every way he can. That being said, he is also the most willing to get his hands dirty to feed the urge in small ways. He will never let himself take another innocent life, but the urge hopes otherwise. He's very observant of the goings-ons around him, but he's actually pretty terrible at remembering names and faces. Though he knows he is from Baldur's Gate, he couldn't tell you a thing about it.

Briar Lockren - Tav character, Half-drow Gloomstalker Ranger (and Bagel the Crow) Cursed to cause supernatural levels of misfortune and horrible nightmares of the one who cursed her, Briar's a surprisingly cool-headed and kind person (probably on account of the extreme sleep-deprivation). She works hard to stay positive despite her circumstances and protect people from monsters and her own bad luck. She's also rarely phased by things, having seen some crazy shit due to her curse and also because she's not usually conscious enough to process the severity of what's happening. Her heritage is only really noticed by drow or people who know her parentage (with only the white flecks and her slightly discolored skin acting as proof of her drow lineage), and otherwise her terrible luck is the only thing that keeps people at a distance. She's too willing to put herself in harm's way, though the tadpoles seem to have cut her off from the effects of her curse. She's also very likely to fire off a round of perfectly-aimed arrows and then immediately turn around and walk into a pole she was warned several times was right behind her. She's originally from Luskan, but has been to many places on the Sword Coast and has settled in Cloakwood recently.

Dyven Courten - Hireling Character, Zariel Tiefling Life Cleric of Ilmater Dyven's middle aged life was cut short when he was tadpoled and then cut down while serving the Absolute. Furious at the cult for taking away the life he'd struggled so hard to find meaning and contentment in, Dyven was all too happy to accept the call to assist in taking down the Absolute. Though he has the disposition necessary for a healer as himself, he's a bit of a rotten priest, often causing trouble: poking his nose into others' business, skimming off of offerings to the church, and generally acting impiously. He's fiercely paternal of Briar and even the Dark Urge, having failed his own estranged daughter in the dark times before he found purpose under Ilmater. He's keenly aware that he won't be going back to a normal life after the Absolute is defeated, but he's long-since given up on only living for himself. He'll drink and steal and see whose age-appropriate pants he can get into along the way, sure. And yet, he's giving this mission everything he's got despite his proclivities. He hails from Rivington, and he's understandably nervous to see his friends at the Church of Ilmater one final time.
