You have my full permission to pronounce Machete's name any way that feels most natural to you, as long as it gets the point across!

My native language is Finnish so the way I say it probably wouldn't work for most people, and it wouldn't make sense in the setting of their story.

I think canonically the most correct takes would be Italian or Spanish (you can slap them on google translate for a quick comparison if you wish), but I really don't mind at all if you choose to localize it.

so i've been watching old dnp content tonight and in phil's my american accent video i realized dan says "i think the most impressive accent so far has been my english narrator voice. hire me, i'd be really good 🥺" and it just HIT ME.

dan always wanted to be an actor, more than anything. but he forced himself to squash that dream when it was time to apply for uni, and he tried to do something practical instead. of course, he found out that law really really wasn't for him. so he dropped out. but maybe at some point when he realized he couldn't do law, it hit him that this youtube thing could be his second chance with acting. or phil helped him realize that. and he actually did it.

he's just returned home from his third world tour with his soulmate, who maybe didn't have the same acting dreams as dan but who has absolutely adored watching him shine anyway. dan belongs on the stage just as much as he belongs with phil. and i am so glad he's found his home.

Yeah Mel's going back to Noxus to fight the Black Rose and all that, but I'm more drawn to the fact this is all happening post-First Invasion of Ionia. The war happened, it's over, it was a war so novel in its cruelty it spawned multiple Noxian characters that abandoned Noxus for it. It was an invasion that only further emptied the coffers and strained Noxus' growing homeless population. It only happened because the former Grand General Boram Darkwill was convinced by the Black Rose that an artifact in Ionia would make him immortal. And none of it would have been possible without Ambessa getting involved.

Ambessa was the reason Darkwill (and the Black Rose) found a pathway to Ionia, without Ambessa and her ambition the First Invasion probably wouldn't have happened, or at least not as swiftly. What's worse was Mel was there to see the first steps and now she's returning for the fallout. Ambessa enabled all this turmoil, was run out of her lands, her allies, her family, all for a throne she never even sat on in the end.

house md wildest show on earth. a main character outright assassinates a known dictator, a moment that would be the very beginning or the mid-series crisis in any other show - an act which creates a power vacuum in a foreign nation already filled with child soldiers and genocide, and it's literally only brought up again throughout the season because that guy's wife divorces him over it. and occasionally to explore his relationship with who he is as a person and a catholic after having deliberately taken a life for what he calculates as the greater good, but mostly it's about his divorce

the problems the original run had felt like they especially blew up in the last ~3-4 years of its life, and i'm not really excited for even the Potential of that happening again. that's not to say i'm not curious about whatever happens in the future, but i can't say i'm excited with confidence
