“What was your first thought, by the way?” It was quite the vague question, but more clarifications followed shortly after. “When the Lord of Crime you met spoke, and it wasn’t my voice?”

William might as well have dropped a bomb inside the room, but instead of appearing concerned about it being some kind of test… Sherlock smiled from ear to ear.

“Oh, so you’re curious.”

“I am.” Completely expected given the aforementioned question, one that would be answered pretty quickly.

“Honestly?” His smile remained, and making a small pause was more about creating a bit of ‘suspense’ than it was about choosing the exact words. “Some sort of disappointment.”

As the two of them were sharing the same couch, Sherlock resting his feet on Liam’s lap, he had a front row seat to see his partner tilt his head back and laugh softly.

“Oh, yes? Were you expecting an intense rivalry and or animosity versus classic courting? Something similar to those stories? The thrill of the chase, in every sense of the way?” Now it was his turn to laugh.

“Well… I would be lying if I said it isn’t a tempting possibility. But…” And right then, Sherlock’s expression changed from amusement to fondness. “I’m perfectly fine with what we have right now. More than fine, actually.”

“Besides, it’s not like we didn’t have some of that either. And, needless to say, the feeling is mutual.”

please i love you i'm begging you bring back suspension of disbelief bring back trusting the audience like. i cannot handle any more dialogue that sounds like a legal document. "hello, i am here to talk to you about the incident from a few minutes ago, because i feel you might be unwell, and i am invested in your personal wellbeing." "thank you, i am unwell because the incident was hurtful to me due to my childhood, which was bad." I CANT!!!!

do you know how many people are mad that authors use "growled" as a word for "said"? it's just poetics! they do not literally mean "growled," it's just a common replacement for "said with force but in a low tone." it's normal! do you hear me!! help me i love you please let me out of here!!!

#THIS TOOK ME FOREVER RAAHHHH #i had help from my mom with stuff like the parts of the traje de mestiza which is the outfit shes wearing #this trend looks so much fun and i wanted to join in.. im first gen canadian though so ive never been to the philippines and only #know thru stories of my parents growing up. im proud of my heritage but there are some things i didnt grow up with that #make me feel disconnected from my culture. so it was nice to talk to my mom abt it and ask for her help with this :3 #the pleated tapis is meant to resemble her skirt.. i had no way of adding her stockings but i noticed the piano key design #so i used that for the saya. the bandana is meant to resemble her hairties and shes wearing bakya wooden slippers with embroidery #i kinda wanted to add the panuelo to resemble her tie as a finishing touch but i forgor ;w; just imagine it i guess #my mom really likes this. shes a little confused abt the blue hair and i had to explain her hair is like that but she thinks shes pretty #originally i wanted her holding the woven pamaypay and fanning herself because ITS HOT ITS 25 FUCKING DEGREES TODAY #but i couldnt get the pose right so i settled for this. i wanna draw her and brazilian miku high fiving ill do that tmrw #my art #myart #hatsune miku #miku worldwide #philippines #vocaloid #miku

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

keep seeing undergrads on social media saying “oh if a prof has a strict no-AI academic integrity policy that’s a red flag for me because that means they don’t know how to design assignments” like sorry girl but that just sounds like you’ve got a case of sour grapes about not being allowed to cheat with the plagiarism machine that doesn’t know how to evaluate sources and kills the environment! I have a strict no-AI policy because if you use AI to write your essays for a writing course it’s literally plagiarism because you didn’t write it and you’re not learning any of the things the course teaches if you just plug a prompt into the plagiarism generator that kills the environment, hope this helps!

#so many people on the internet like ‘why do I have to write my work myself why can’t I just plug it into the cheating machine’#‘why is it plagiarism to not write my own work and instead use the plagiarism machine built from scraping others’ work without consent?’#like. it is because you are not learning anything if you do not actually do the work assigned to you. hope this helps #I personally have not had AI issues because of how I structure my assignments #but it was a HUGE problem in my department last year. so we all have no-AI to write your classwork policies

Also increasingly aware that a LOT of people "manage" getting through the 40+ hour work week by sleeping less than is healthy and relying on stimulants like coffee and energy drinks to keep them going.

For people who are unwilling or unable to do this...work really does just dominate your life. Like we really should not have to rely on unhealthy practices just to have a social life or keep on top of housework or whatever.

I know I post about this a lot but I'm so TIRED all the time and it's just so depressing that this is how we're expected to spend the one life we have.

#i have to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night to even barely function #with sleep #getting ready for work #commute #cooking #and errands #I typically have maybe 2-3 hours to actually do what i want in a day #and I'm usually too tired to actually do the things i want to do #and that's with a very short commute #if i actually had a long commute I'd basically do nothing but work #i see my friends like once every few weeks or months #because we're all so fucking busy with work and have such little time for socialising #and none of us even have kids or anything!!
