"When I find out they're going to get the trap of a lifetime," Nina seethed. Pressing hard on Diedre's wound with one hand, she gently brushed the hair from her face with the other. Wake up, Dee. It's not ideal conditions, but it's not like hospitals weren't just a one way trip to Blackgate. It was a good bet Roman would have a half decent medical room given his own history with gunshot wounds. Nina was just glad they weren't turned away.

"You were closest, Eddie got snagged. We'll get him out when she's feeling better." Arkham breakouts got trickier and trickier but nothing was breakout-proof.

"Someone sold us out." And livid didn't even touch the rage coursing through her veins. "We just got set up in that place, there's no way that was just a coincidence the coppers had it surrounded today. Someone tipped them!" That's a puzzle for later. For now, she's was just glad to see Dee still breathing. Getting the last of the gauze wrapped around the blonde's leg, there's some relief in how the blood flow was finally starting to slow down. With her own adrenaline coming down it was getting harder to blink back the tears. That was too close.

"She just got in front of me."

"love every trans woman you meet before it's too late" is a tumblr post that is very close to my heart because it was inspired by a friend of mine attempting suicide.

like a lot of people seem to assume it's about the banning and stuff and i mean like it can be. love the trans women in your life before the structures around them isolate them. love them before they feel like they're unloved. yk.

but like.

love every trans woman you meet before it's too late is particularly strong to me because it's literally about a friend of mine i thought it was too late for.

i was too scared of making her uncomfortable to let her know how much i love her and how wonderful it is to know her and how happy i am to have met her. and i thought she was gone.

love every trans woman you meet before it's too late is a reminder to me to always push past that discomfort. to always try to make the trans women in your life feel loved. because we so often feel unlovable.

even if you think your actions speak for themselves, push beyond your fears. tell them directly.

"i love you."

"you're a wonderful force in my life, you make me happy."

"i would miss you when you're gone."

"please come to me with your problems."

"i love you."

let the trans women in your life know exactly how much you care about them. let them know you love them. let them know they're your best friend. let them know you'll always be there for them.

they will doubt they're good enough they'll doubt they're loved they'll doubt everything that gives them value. but take them into your heart and make them feel it.

be their shoulder to cry on.

When Senshi was young in the dungeon the majority of the adults he were with ostracized him. All except Gillin, who died to make sure Senshi had something to eat: unseasoned boiled meat that may or may not have been one of their comrades.

It really puts into perspective why he was so nurturing towards Chilchuck. When Chil reveals he’s 28 to the party, Senshi responds by telling him that he thought he was older. Senshi was in his 30s when he and his comrades got trapped in the dungeon, so it’s safe to assume that he thought Chil was at a similar age.

He met a young boy who was, from his perspective, forced to do dangerous work in the dungeon just like he was, and so, Senshi made an effort to look after Chilchuck in the same way Gillin looked after him.

Mind you, when Senshi was young in the dungeon he had to starve for weeks, eat the horse he loved, and finish it off spending the next i don’t know how many years wondering if he committed cannibalism.

Senshi understands first hand the value of nutrition and proper eating, so when he’s with the party he makes an effort to make sure they’re all eating a full and balanced diet. Not only that, but Senshi INVOLVES them in the process of getting food to eat, always preparing it in front of them and narrating every ingredient in the process so that there’s no doubt about what they’re eating.
