Tubbo: What was wrong with the timing?!
Pac: You did it in the worst possible timing! Everything was–
Bagi: I think we ruined the kiss.
Everyone:
Pac: It– it wasn't the kiss, more– you know? It was– *mumbles*
Tubbo: IT WAS MORE?! IT WAS MORE?! ON THE FIRST DATE?!
Bagi: WE DON'T NEED THE DETAILS!
Fit: That's not what he meant!

Im not just saying this bc I'm a youtube person who does it.
MAN I wish it was more common for youtuber video essayist to upload their videos as text essays.
I understand it might be born from some idea of limiting views/profits if people just read your vids on a blog rather than watch. But there's so many essays I don't want to watch but would read.
There's a lot of book reviewers too who only operate on YT and not a blog. I get it. But I often can't watch a 2 hour vid but can read 15k words, y'know?

Guys I have a problem. I am not a native english speaker and I have a hard time understanding the language when there aren't subtitles.
The yt channel in which I was watching Granada Holmes doesn't seem to have the third season in it? And I can't find it with subtitles anywhere else. So I'm kinda stuck. Anyone knows where I can watch it? Preferably on the tv, but the computer is okay too

Thinking today of henghill on some cold planet, one like Jarilo-VI or wherever, and Dan Heng getting his tongue stuck on some metal part of Boothill's VSKJSNSJD
Like Dan Heng is stuck to his neck, so Boothill has to pick him up and carry him to try to sneak them around to somewhere warm to thaw his tongue out. Don't worry, poor Dan Heng is just tired, that's why he's carrying him like this, no no he's fine don'tlookthatcloselybye!!
(Also Boothill is carrying Dan Heng bridal style. Obviously.)
And now, I get to show you all @hydrachea 's newest blessing upon this ship, because she took that and RAN WITH IT-

hey here's a fun fact that's happening in Brazil rn
our previous president tried a coup d'etat and he even recoded and shared the link on Google Drive to anyone who has the link to see it. it was on Google meet btw.
it seems that it was recorded so that the people that wasn't present it the reunion, could see it the other day (or maybe live?)
it failed, of course. or I don't think I would be sharing this
idk. I wanna know how ppl outside Brazil would react with this.

Hi it's me again 🤗
I noticed that you're the only (afaik) blog posting about HPI and its US remake High Potential, so I was very curious to hear your thoughts on comparing both versions? Have you noticed impactful differences (could be either plot, characterization, dynamics...) or is the second one a copycat of the first? Is there one more enjoyable to watch than the other? Also is the US version good? I'm considering watching it, mostly because I miss HPI's early seasons' spirit SO BAD, but also to me Daniel Sunjata = Paul Briggs, which would make an, um... interesting Karadec young!era but wait that's not the point! 😂
Anyway, thoughts? 👀👀
Hello!!
Not me aggressively hunting down HPI and High Potential posts to feed my new obsession 🤣
Yessssss, I would love to share my thoughts on this, let's go!
Let me first say, I only recently watched both of these shows. I first saw the pilot and second episode of High Potential, then I binged S1-3 of HPI, and I've now rewatched High Potential and am keeping up with the new episodes.
Obviously, the setting is one of the most significant differences, but as far as I understand, Major Crimes is a fair equivalent to the DIPJ. It's nice to watch a US crime procedural not set in New York lol. I'll be interested to see how High Potential plays with the geographical aspects of some of the HPI cases.
The pilots are almost exact copies, with one significant difference. The second episode is an entirely different case! Then, the third episode is a remake of HPI 1.02. It sounds like High Potential S1 will have somewhere around 13 episodes, so I'm hopeful it'll continue this back-and-forth of new and copied cases.
I'm thrilled that they've already used this extra episode to expand the plot and characters, and I hope that continues. Minor points that were glossed over in HPI, like Morgane getting her car back, are given a little more time, and we're getting to see more of the footwork done to investigate Roman's disappearance. High Potential is also taking more time to explore Morgan's dynamic with her family, and I love the little ways Roman's absence haunts her.
HPI does a decent job of not presenting the rest of the team as stupid to emphasise Morgane's intelligence, and High Potential is leaning into that. There are some great scenes of Daphne, Oz (Gilles), and Karadec picking up on tiny details, especially ones Morgan misses! Morgan is undoubtedly an asset to the team, but these are seasoned career detectives who're never more than a couple of steps behind her.
I do have a few complaints about the characterisations. First, the show seems to have already lost track of Karadec's cleanliness/hand sanitiser compulsion. Second, Olson's Morgan is not quite as silly goofy as Fleurot's Morgane. I miss my over-the-top ridiculous, no-respect-for-social-conventions lady. Third, Sunjata's portrayal of Karadec comes across as much bolder and—idk how to say it—larger than Nebbou's. He takes up more space, and I miss my dorky, unassuming guy. These are pretty nitpicky, though. Naturally, all of the US actors play their characters a little differently than the original actors. I don't hate it, but I'm still deciding which interpretations I do or don't love. Even so, I'm very much enjoying Morgan's dynamic with Karadec and the other detectives/cops.
I miss the spirit of the early seasons, too 😭 So far, I think it's balancing copycat and reinvention/expansion very well. I'm excited for the rest of it!
At the end of the day, this is a genre I love, and I enjoy watching adaptations simply for the fun of comparing and contrasting them with the original media. But even before I watched HPI, I got drawn into High Potential, so I do recommend checking it out.
Thanks for sticking around for this whole thing! Of course, all of this is based on my reading of HPI and High Potential. If you get around to watching the remake, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

there are three kinds of people in this world: the one who thinks snow white is the boy who's raised to be compassionate and brave and slandered for his brilliance to the point of life-threatening exile. the one who thinks it is the casted-away girl with dark ebony hair and well-cared skin who has the most idealistic mindset of happy ending. and the last one is the one who thinks that snow white is already dead because of her fair beauty.
but then, mbc released episode 13.

Yesterday was pretty chaotic no matter whose perspective you watched, and I know I didn't catch the vows the first time around, so I went ahead and translated + subtitled Cellbit's wedding vows.
Full transcription of subtitles:
Roier: Cellbit?
Cellbit: Roier-
Capybara: [Recorded voice] Excellent!
Cellbit: You were the first person I saw when I arrived on this island. In the middle of all that chaos, you were the first one that appeared in the glass, and when I saw your smile, I knew I would not forget it.
When I needed somebody, when I was alone, you came. And I want you to know that as long as I'm here you will never be alone.
Roier: Awww
Etoiles: Whoaaa that's so sweet!
Baghera: Aww....

with the possibility of other-timeline doppelgangers in mind, isn't the flesh monster attacking "the wrong El" a fun little moment
also intrigued by the way it visually misidentified this mannequin as El because it's wearing the same shirt. I never really thought about it, but like. does it have eyes? it acts like it sees out of its tentacles?

Hatice and Ibrahim have never been more divided from each other up to that point than in E43-E44. While Hatice always sensed when Ibrahim was actually in danger or she's lost him in any way (i.e. E35 when she felt something in Edirne while Ibrahim was with Nigar), nothing came up when he was shot; he didn't even tell her what happened to him until she found out herself; they were seperated while he was recovering; the wait for Ibrahim to come back felt like an eternity to Hatice and she went through several breakdowns at once (and his carriage was right in front of her but she couldn't see him, her only thought until the very end was that he was dead, isn't that what her dream with the "crying" statues meant?); when he came back she wasn't allowed to spend at least some time alone with him as SS wanted to talk to him; even their sleep was interrupted. The only thing that Ibrahim asked Hatice to do was to play him his mother's song on the violin (I like to think that Hatice started learning the violin in order to become closer to him, to who he is, to his past again after what they went through with little Mehmet).... but he no longer associates even that with Hatice anymore.
#not even gonna mention Ibrahim being gone while Hatice was giving birth in the end of E44#as that is the culmination of all the separations that accumulated throughout E43 and 44#and I already pondered a little on what it meant in my “Ibratice and the losses of a child” meta#oh funny story this was supposed to be a post about Hatice saying they're bringing Ibrahim's corpse when the carriage appeared#as that is likeeeee oh my godddd the *FORESHADOWING*; she was even shrouded in green again too!!!! (lighter green but still!!!!)#but then I saw that this was just the Bulgarian dub again and the English subtitles translate it as something else entirely#which didn't seem like what Hatice actually said either but since I can't make out some of the OG words at all and there aren't#English subtitles under the Turkish videos of E44 I decided not to risk it#anyway goodness how much did Yakup's prophecy terrify Hatice#she really can't see anything *but* death at this point and how *won't* she when all her feelings always turn out to be correct?#(except the statues of course but due to the rest of the bad events they can't do anything *other* than feed Hatice's fear)#this is why Hatice fearing so much about Ibrahim's life isn't merely a matter of obsession but I digress#thing is Ibrahim was *actually* ready to *die* for once wanting his mother to *take him* in that dream#(parallel to Hürrem's E01 dream of course)#as he's lost the rest of his past (that's in the present) already; he's really been defeated hasn't he?#the only person left is his mother he barely finds as he's already lost her long ago both metaphorically and literally#but he finds her and he symbolically finds her in Nigar; this is what “home” means to him now and his look at Nigar after he woke up#is what made him realize it; Hatice is too far behind; close yet so out of reach while Nigar only seems closer and closer#so he goes after her to chase that “home” he got lost in but “home” isn't what he once knew anymore#(Nigar's tear falling on Ibrahim's cheek *is* an artistic device signifying love tbf)#magnificent century#muhteşem yüzyıl#muhtesem yuzyil#hatice sultan#ibrahim pasha#ibratice#hatibo#(also in the tags)#nigar kalfa
