for example i could say Einführungsveranstaltungsteilnehmer (which is not underlined with red by tumblr because it is a grammatically correct compound word (i think that‘s what they‘re called?)) which is the words introduction + event + participant, so that word just means “participant of an introductory event“ but instead it‘s one word? i hope that makes sense? dkdkkdksks i mean it makes sense in german but idk if it makes sense to you cause idk if i‘m explaining it very well lmao,

Okay so skdjdjdjddhhddhdhjsk... I used to watch all of my series in German (like H2O) bc obviously they were on german tv so they were german- and i knew that most of these actors i saw on tv were american and i was always SO fascinated that they all learned german for this show??? Like I actually thought they were the people‘s real voices and that these English and American actors were learning german so they could re-record the whole ass show and do everything in german dkdkdldjdjjd... i swear I thought that until I was like 14 omg. And then the first time that I watched H2O in the original version i was sooo confused about their accents because to me all actors who spoke english were American?? I mean MOST of those shows are American so I wasn‘t completely off but yeah i was definitely caught off guard when I heard all of their Australian accents for the first time 💀💀���😭😭

@ math vs maths, math actually makes more sense in my opinion. like you have the word mathematics, then the abbreviation would obviously be math... why would English people randomly add the s from the end??? Or maybe it makes more sense after all because it‘s like plural??? Since meeting, Alex and Hannah had three small dates, mostly consisting of hanging out together either at the park, on a drive to Costa, and hanging at his house. The two of them had yet to make it official though they knew it was inevitable, they were hooked to each other from the first meeting and there was no sign of stopping what they had. 

But nevertheless Alex wanted to take Hannah out on a proper date, one where he can show her how serious he was about their newly found relationship. 

He had called her when he knew she was out of class, he had just gotten home from training, it finally being Friday, no weekend game ahead. 

“Hello handsome.” she answered the phone making him smile widely at the nickname 

“Hello love, how was class?” he replied

“Boring as usual, got no new work for the weekend tho which is a blessing, howd training go?” she countered

Alex felt like a teenage girl as he looked over his appearance about a billion times before calling his sister for her opinion.

Then a knock was heard at the front door, Hannah's mom shouting that it was Alex waiting.

She grabbed her overnight bag, heading down the stairs seeing Alex in the front doorway. 

“Well don't you clean up nicely.” she flirted making him chuckle nervously, he couldn’t help but be amazed at how beautiful she always looked, especially tonight, 

“Have you looked at yourself angel you look beautiful.” he said, making her quickly peck his lips smiling and blushing madly. 

“You two have fun.” her mom said as they walked out to his car, Alex had grabbed her overnight bag from her and carried it to his car, placing it in the trunk quickly.

Alex being the gentleman he is, opened the door for Hannah, closing the door once she was seated inside. Running around the front of his car he sat down inside and turned to her. 

“Ready to go?” he asked, she nodded her head smiling widely. He leaned over and gave her a proper kiss for the first time that night. “Been waiting for that all day.” he sighed contently making her giggle and grab his hand to intertwine with his. 

The car ride was filled with singing to music, banter, and lots of small flirty comments. They soon reached the restaurant and Alex brought her hand to his lips pressing a kiss on the back of it as he pulled into the parking spot. 

“Oooo look at you skilled driver.” she teased making him laugh. 

“What can i say i’m a man of many talents,” he winked, “wait there imma open the door for you.” he finished, giving her a short kiss before hopping out of the car, opening the door for her to get out, grabbing her hand to help her out not letting go as they walked towards the entrance of the cute little restaurant they came to. 

“This place is so cute baby i love it.” 

“Im glad pretty girl.” the two of them walked in and a little while later were taken to their table.  

Alex pulled out the chair for Hannah earning a small peck on the cheek from her making him smirk slightly before taking his seat across from her. 

“So far you have received a 100/10 rating baby.” she giggled making her boyfriend chuckle as they looked at the menu, ordering some soft drinks for themselves. 

The two of them had small talk, as well as joking around due to Alex starting a game about guessing what everyone in the restaurant was thinking, the two of them having to keep their laughs to a low volume so they wouldn’t get kicked out. 

When their food came they each ate their food, as well as giving the other person a bite when they asked for one, you would never think they hadn’t been a thing for very long due to how they acted. The two of them continued before they were interrupted by an older couple passing by their table. 

“Sorry to interrupt i just wanted to come over and say how cute you two look together, match made in heaven i can tell,” she smiled making the young couple melt, “he’s a handsome one pretty lady, keep him close.” she winked before bidding them goodbye. The two of them bursting out in laughter. 

“Did you hear that baby gotta keep me close cuz im handsomeeee.” he winked 

“She seemed pretty interested in you wanna have her stay over tonight?” she joked making him laugh. 

“Nahhh you know you're the only one i want in my bed tonight.” he smirked 

“Cheeky boy.” she rolled her eyes playfully.

“No but please tell me more.” she responded, putting her chin in her hands smiling, joking around but he continued talking.

Hannah smiled slightly seeing him take the picture, you could see the light blush on her cheeks and Alex had never adored someone more, taking a sip of his drink while putting the picture as his lock screen.

“Well since we’re being paparazzi, look at me so i can get a pic of you too, can have matching lock screens from tonight.” she said doing the same as him, he posed still taking sip from his drink, his phone in his other hand. 

“How do i look? Handsome?” he winked

“As always.” she responded, putting the picture as her lockscreen. 

The check came and even though she insisted they split, Alex paid repeating to her that he was treating her tonight. They made their way out of the restaurant hand in hand towards the car. 

“I can’t get over how good you look in this dress.” he said pulling her in closer to his side, wrapping his arm around her waist and pressing a kiss to her temple. A blush creeped up to her cheeks making her smile from ear to ear. 

He opened the car door for her and let her in before closing it and climbing in on the other side. 

“Is anyone at your house?” she asked innocently. 

“Umm no, Taylor went to Josh’s for the night, and mum and dad are at some event for mum’s work,” he replied, “why?” 

“No nothing really was just wondering since i hadn’t seen them since last time i was over.”

They eventually reached his house and he climbed out first going to the trunk to grab her bag before coming to her side and opening the door for her.

Mi Rae’s insecurities dominate the way she looks at others and the way she thinks of herself and this drama is her beautiful journey to finding inner beauty.

Review: This drama was so heart warming and touching!! I absolutely fell in love with the characters and the journey Kang Mi Rae goes on. This drama is honestly a huge life lesson and I’m so happy I finished it. Though it wasn’t a perfect drama, it made me really happy and I think I would watch it again. Let’s start with the negatives...

Like almost all kdramas, I think this drama also has issues with its pacing, mostly with the reveals/dramatic aspects or plot points. Hyun Soo Ah’s (the second female lead) background was revealed in the last 2 episodes and I thought it put a lot of pressure on the audience to connect the dots. It also made it difficult for me to sympathetic for her when I saw her tragic background only an hour before the show was going to end.

The dramatic climax could also have been paced better and I think putting it in the last hour of the drama was a mistake. A slow reveal of Soo Ah’s background and a build up to Kang Mi Rae’s climactic monologue could have lead to a better ending. I also think this drama’s ending left way too many strings untied. I don’t mean that the open endings were bad, but some endings weren’t even shown. For example, what happened to the relationship between the Do siblings? And the relationship between Kyung Seok and his mom? And the relationship between Woo Yeong (second male lead) and  Mi Rae’s friend? There were just so many aspects that weren’t shown in the end, which made it difficult to digest that the drama had actually ended. Also what on Earth was the point of showing Hyun Jun’s interest in rapping??? That plot point ended in 1 episode and was such a pointless filler.

The biggest negative for me is the lack of screen time of the relationship between Kyung Seok and his mother. We get to see it in the beginning/middle of the drama and then she sort of takes the sidelines and that relationship never fully develops. The relationship between them could have been such a beautiful side-plot and I think the producers really missed out on a good opportunity. You don’t even see the mother and son together in the last episode! It’s so frustrating and I really wish I could have seen more of their relationship blossom.

I think the styling/casting of the female lead was also kind of odd. Don’t get me wrong, I love Im Soo Hyang and I think she’s a fantastic actress. She’s so funny and down-to-earth, but also confident and her skills shone through in this drama. But she looked too old to be a college student. I understand that maybe that was the vibe they were going for since she is supposed to “look” like she got plastic surgery, but I think her hairstyle and the way they did her makeup just made her look artificially old. If they were going for the “mature” look, I think they nailed it with some of the side characters, but Mi Rae looked unnaturally old. I think it’s the hairstyle tbh, cuz she looks so young in other dramas/shows!

Now on to the positives!!

THE ROMANCE!!!! Ahhhhh the romance gave me sooo many feels. I literally felt my heart drop everytime I saw the 2 main leads interact. I definitely did not have Second Lead Syndrome with this drama because the main leads had so much chemistry and such beautiful interactions. Do Kyung Seok only sees people’s inner beauty and Kang Mi Rae can’t help herself from judging/feeling judged for outer beauty. The growth and love between these characters made the scenes so cute and sweet to watch. I honestly fell in love with both of them and was definitely sad I didn’t have my own Do Kyung Seok. The OST (Something in your eyes) made me swoon every single time and I can feel myself blush whenever I hear it.

I don’t think my heart can take any more romance...

The Actors. I tried not to be biased with my review of the actors and I feel like I’m pretty unbiased tbh. I know Eun Woo is a part of ASTRO, but I don’t really stan/listen to their music/follow them so I feel like I can be unbiased. I honestly loved all the actors. I think Soo Hyang was so beautiful and portrayed her role so well. I got annoyed with her character sometimes because of how insecure she was, but this was honestly the most realistic portrayal of insecurities and growth. Eun Woo was fantastic! His cold facade was done so well that I still felt affectionate for him when he was cold. Maybe because he was never really cold to Mi Rae? The transition from a cold, arrogant-type boy to a sweet, loving boy was honestly pretty smooth. I couldn’t even tell that Kyung Seok was acting differently because Eun Woo transitioned in that role so well. It didn’t help that all the actors were gorgeous and so entertaining! Cha Eun Woo’s smile makes my heart stop. I guess if I had to pick one actor that didn’t really make me feel anything it would be Kwak Dong Yeon (Woo Young). Maybe it wasn’t the actor’s fault and it was the producers, writers, or directors, but I just didn’t feel any interest or chemistry in his romance with Soo Hyang. I could snicker at his comedy scenes but I never felt touched with his emotional ones, even the sad ones.

The Morals. This was probably my favorite part of the drama. I felt so touched by the morals in this drama...Suicide prevention, depression, therapy, love, inner beauty, friendship. I mean this was literally the most heart touching drama I’ve watched, which is why the negatives don’t matter as much to me. Romance aside, I think Kang Mi Rae had beautiful character development and I’m so proud of her and happy that she became a confident and happy person. Her dramatic monologue at the climax just made me feel so motivated and inspired to stop thinking of my looks all the time and stop unnecessarily judging others’ looks.

Overall thoughts: This drama was honestly one of the best. It has its flaws, but I feel like they pale in comparison to the romance, the entertainment, and the learning value of the drama. This is how a good drama should be written and produced. The romance, the chemistry, the acting, the comedy, the lessons were so valuable and so touching. Honestly, this drama reminds me of an early 2000s drama without the cringe-fest. I would 100% watch it again (mainly for the romance scenes...)

first off i’m so sorry i didn’t answer this whole time. it’s not that i was so mad (that came and went) but i did need a little distance from thinking about it and then i thought why not wait and see how the rest of the holiday goes before replying.

secondly oh my goodness i can’t believe you love hearing me talk about anything XD but it feels really nice that you enjoy my random outbursts about religion. i get that it must be weird for people (especially ones who know me irl) that i have this whole aspect of me that doesn’t fit at all with the way i present myself/live my life (for the most part- except the people who only know that part of me, of course, my students/congregation members etc). i have such a weird dual personality when it comes to this but anyway that is a HUGE can of beans for maybe another time.

but anyway here’s a bottom line about me to help us in this discussion about music on shabbat (im just gonna call it shabbat from here on cuz “the sabbath” is so weird for me to write for some reason) and holidays:

my elementary school was a secular zionist/traditional jewish day school. this might sound completely ridiculous so i’ll break it down- it wasn’t an orthodox place (girls and boys did everything together, nobody had to dress or act a certain way because of religion, and it was basically non-denominational so… secular), but it was traditional in the sense that we did morning prayers every day from the traditional (i guess u could call it orthodox) prayerbook, we learned Torah every day and everything to do with jewish traditions/ritual practices, learned about Israel, jewish history, etc. we, of course, studied all of the secular subjects (including french) at the same time. at the time i also went to a jewish summer camp from age 6-12, but it was more traditional and pretty jewish/israel intensive. we also prayed every day, observed shabbat in the orthodox sense (no electricity, no “work”, special activities, lots of food and rest), and even had special events on certain days like tisha b’av (the fast day commemorating the destruction of the temple), and maccabiah games at the end of the summer (like color war/olympics, but we had to talk hebrew the whole time or we lost points XD). my favorite part of camp was an event called ma’apilim, where the counselors would wake us up in the middle of the night and the entire camp would run through this simulation of the experience of the holocaust refugees being smuggled into palestine in the mid-40s. i can describe that whole experience for you in detail if you want but maybe not right now since i’ve rambled so much already.

SUFFICE TO SAY i grew up in a seriously jewish environment, but not a religious home. as a teenager i went to a jewish high school, though not at all as religious, and became active in my synagogue youth group. OH also, when i was 9, my parents switched us over to the reconstructionist synagogue (from a conservative one) so my sisters and i could have a real bat mitzvah (in orthodox and conservative shuls girls aren’t allowed to read from the Torah like boys do). so thru high school i was very involved in jewishy things and my synagogue, and i got really attached to reading Torah and the prayer service in my synagogue. my reason for emphasis is because, as i’ve said, i’d been exposed to the traditional prayer service for most of my life, but praying in this shul has always been a completely different experience.

in school and in camp, despite the traditional service (and separation of boys and girls, in camp only), i was always able to sing out loud as much as i wanted. but, traditionally, prayer is lead by an individual- the cantor- and the congregation (and the rabbi) only “participates” out loud in certain parts. that’s how it is in most synagogues in montreal except the temple and mine. in my shul, we’ve never had a cantor, and the entire service is basically communally led. our rabbi was also very special. our leader for 40 years, he was a pioneer in the reconstructionist movement, creating his own prayer book (not new prayers, just his own translation and commentary and additions) and passover haggadah. he wasn’t a singer, but he had a musical soul and when he led prayers it just moved me every time. the tunes for the prayers were sometimes the same as the traditional melody, and sometimes not. it always took me awhile to get used to new melodies or songs he would introduce (i’m so inflexible, what a shock), but i would always eventually suck it up. for him. basically for 25+ years i got used to doing things a certain way in my shul. i also watched through the years as new people came and left, including my entire generation (moved away/got married/not interested in synagogue), until the whole makeup of my shul was essentially completely different. but we’ve always had a few core members that stuck around, and the melodies have always remained. i was always proud to carry it on.

so, a little about the reconstructionist movement and synagogues in montreal. reconstructionism began post-holocaust when the founder, mordechai kaplan, realized how difficult it was becoming for people to continue to have faith in  religion after such trauma. people couldn’t connect, or didn’t want to be involved at all anymore. so the movement began as a place for these people, to maintain a connection to judaism without feeling the pressure of having to believe in god or accept all of the traditional tenets of the religion. this isn’t the same as reform, by the way, which a lot of people think is the only other denomination of judaism besides orthodox/conservative. i don’t wanna give a lesson on denominations rn, but basically reconstructionism is all about adapting and shaping judaism so that it can fit into your life and inform your values without infringing on however else you choose to live. okay all of that just to get to this motherfuckingpoint:

playing music on shabbat/(certain) holidays is part of the laws of shabbat, codified by rabbis during the temple period as part of the Talmud. these laws, which are basically a breakdown of all the things you cannot or must do on shabbat, are what is considered oral Torah, just as binding as the laws in the written Torah from moses. they had to break it down because “on the 7th day you must rest” isn’t exactly specific, so how can you know if you break the law? there are 39 things that are listed as “work” which you cannot do on shabbat. the two main reasons for not playing an instrument on shabbat are: the instrument might break and you might be tempted to fix it (and in so doing, do one of the 39 acts), and the fact that instruments were played in the Temple, and we’re not supposed to be doing anything they did in the Temple until we’ve built the new one (hence no more sacrifices even tho almost the entire book of leviticus deals with the priestly ritual laws).

okay so those are the rules. now, for me personally. what’s my problem? i’m a member at a reconstructionist synagogue, not an orthodox one. i’m not a religious person. i don’t keep the laws of shabbat on a regular basis. what. is. my. problem?

maybe i should have mentioned, along with my heavily traditionally influenced childhood, there was also a point in my life where i did decide to keep all the rules. for about 5 years in my mid twenties i became completely zealous when it came to the laws of shabbat/holidays (maybe cuz i was trying to get my jewish teaching career off the ground idek). i walked 45 minutes each way to shul. i even walked clear across town on saturdays to get to the theatre in time to meet my mom for the ballet at 8pm after sunset. i made them turn off the microphones if i was going to be on the bimah (pulpit) in shul. i was a bit insane, but nobody was offended and neither was i, i just tried it out and eventually decided it wasn’t for me.

i guess what i’m trying to say is that my problem with music in synagogue comes from a few places: 1- my “traditional/religious” brain saying NO it’s just NOT ALLOWED, IT’S TOO MUCH. YOU BREAK SO MANY RULES AS IT IS, and i guess that’s harder to turn off than i would like 2- the shul i grew up in and love was one where our collective voices were the instrument, and that alone has had a huge impact on my spiritual growth. i don’t like being drowned out (my own and other’s voices) when i’m praying. 3- while my rabbi occasionally would whip out the guitar, this new rabbi has it out every single shabbat. to me, prayer and ritual worship are not a performance. when i see someone on a “stage”- in this case the bimah- with an instrument, i’m in the mind frame of a concert, and all of my attention is focused on the musician. i just can’t pray like that. when i lived in nyc i worked at this huge reform synagogue that had like 5 rabbis and 3 cantors and every friday night service was like a broadway spectacle with a full orchestra and choir and what not. it was beautiful, but i couldn’t concentrate on the praying. i don’t know how many people could. i understand that for most people music in itself is a spiritual experience, and that makes complete sense, but for me, my spiritual experience in synagogue is hearing voices in prayer.

i just realized i didn’t talk about yom kippur specifically. yk is one of the only times of the year that most jews in the world decide to do the exact same thing (the other is passover). jews who eat bacon every morning and work all day on saturday will put their lives aside and fast. most will even be in synagogue for kol nidre (the night before) or neilah (the night of), depending on your ethnic background (for ashkenazis the former is most important, for sephardim the latter). the main part of the kol nidre service (which is the beginning of yk), is the kol nidre prayer itself, which is supposed to be chanted 3 times, starting off soft and each time getting progressively louder. as a child i led the kol nidre service once in the conservative shul where we went, and it was unbelievable i’ll never forget it, so i’ve always had a special connection to this prayer and melody. in my current shul we’ve always had a choir, and a cantor, for the occasion, much like many traditional congregations do. i’ve never really liked it because i can’t sing aloud all three times, and therefore don’t feel the same connection to the prayer, but i dealt with it. bringing in an orchestra was just kinda a last straw i guess? i didn’t want to have to deal with all of that negative bitterness as i’m trying to ask god to nullify my vows so i can be clean again.

oy gevalt. this was an essay, and not a well thought out one at that. sorry :// my main point is, basically, that for me music on shabbat is complicated, and it’s not just about the law, because clearly i’m not a “follow every law” kinda person. i don’t feel like i fit into any particular jewish mold, thanks to my upbringing, and i can’t really connect to any of the denominations, so i pick and choose what’s meaningful to me. luckily i stuffed a lot of information into my brain (thank you mcgill jewish studies), and i feel more comfortable doing so than i might have in my youth because i actually know and understand my options. maybe i’m not the best jew i can be, but i’m trying to be the best divvy. :)

The only problem with that, she has to start operating within the law, something she’s not too keen on because “if these monsters can kill innocent people, I can kill their lying, dirty, low life asses, Pete.”

Peter had been enjoying his day, sure it wasn’t too eventful, only a couple thugs snatching purses, but it was better than nothing. He stood on top of a seven story building, casually watching passerbys below, listening into tidbits of conversation with Karen’s sound tech. “The coffee shop on 12th? I’ll be there in 30 minutes.” “No one cares about your pimple, it’s not even that big.””Hey, pretty lady! How would you like a tour of my place?” “As if.” “Bitch.”

Peter rolled his eyes. ‘Idiot,’ he thought, ‘That’s not how you get women to like you.’ He knew it seemed a bit hypocritical to think that, being a high school boy that hadn’t even had his first kiss, but he knew you didn’t do it that way. You had to be kind and get her to like your personality first, not immediate sex.

He drew himself from his thoughts and sat on the edge of the roof, listening back into people chatting. A girl, around his age, maybe a bit older, and a man that seemed to be about 20. “Tell me where he is, Juan!” She slammed her fist against the concrete stairwell they were standing near.

“I ain’t no snitch, baby.” He gave her a sly smile and a wink that only seemed to infuriate her more. She grabbed his collar with lightning reflexes and pulled his face mere inches from her own.

“I’m not going to ask again, Juan. Where is he? You have ten seconds before I smash your face against the concrete and let you bleed out.” His grin disappeared and a look of terror passed through his features. Peter wondered why this man was so afraid of this girl half his size, she didn’t look very intimidating. 

Juan lifted his hands in the air to surrender and she let go of his collar. “Alright alright. Last time I saw him he was looking to find a place to stay here in Queens, cuz a you no less. Guess that didn’t work, huh, chica?” He leaned in closer to her and winked at her again. She rolled her eyes and pushed him away, before turning to walk in the other direction.

She turned back as she walked away. “Oh, and Juan! If you tip him off that I’m coming for him, I’ll find you too.” This time she winked and his face paled. Again Peter was as to why he seemed so scared of her. And that was when Peter realized he was slowly leaning farther and farther off the edge of the building to get a better look and now he was close to tipping off the side. He steadied himself and looked looked back down to the sidewalk below him and didn’t see her anywhere. Panicking, he looked all over the general area. She couldn’t have gone that far in that little time, could she? Then he saw her head disappearing around the corner of a building. He ran on the roof of the building he was on and followed her around the corner. Staying high and out of sight.

He continued to follow her for multiple blocks after that, getting increasingly confused at the odd route she seemed to be taking. It didn’t make any sense. She was taking left and rights and walking all the way around city blocks when she could have just gone straight, but then she walked down a dead ended ally way. When she reached the end, she called out to him. “I know you’ve been following me. You might as well come down now.” His eyes grew wide and he drew back a bit, wondering if he should reveal himself. ‘Well, she already knows I’m here. I might as well.’ He thought to himself.

Peter dropped down right in front of her and when he unfolded himself and stood tall, he found himself face to barrel with her gun. His eyes flew wide. This is why she called him down here, to kill him? “Stalking is an illegal offence, y’know.” There was a smirk on her face, but her eyes were sharp, she was ready to pull the trigger at any false move. “Why have you been following me?”

“Careful, Peter. A shot from this distance would undoubtedly be fatal. Choose your next moves wisely.” Karen was just trying to help, but it only seemed to frazzle Peter more than he already was with a gun pointed directly at his forehead. He couldn’t think of any plan of action that didn’t get him killed or at least shot at. 

Peter raised his hands in the air. “Hey, hey. Don’t worry about me. I’m not gonna do anything. Why don’t you put the gun down.”

“Oh yeah, sure.” She smiled and lowered her gun a bit.

“Really? Just like that?” Peter let his surprise show through as his eyes widened and he lowered his arms a bit, relaxing to an extent.

“No!” She rolled her eyes and brought her gun back up to his head, her features steeling again. “Like that that’s gonna work out for me. I put away my gun and then you just tie me up and leave me for the police. That’s a great idea I think we should definitely try that.” Sarcasm dripped from her lips and Peter couldn’t help, but think about how nice it would be to talk to her without a gun pressed to his skull. “So spill it, spandex. Why were you following me?”

“Spandex?! These aren’t spandex! Do they look like spandex to y-” He dropped his hands and looked down at his red and blue clad legs. “I guess they probably do look like spandex, huh?” She tapped his head with the gun and he resumed his position, remembering where he was. “Alright! Alright! Geez, bossy. I heard you were looking for someone and I wanted to see where you were going. Who were you lookin’ for anyways?”

“None of your business, that’s who. And you don’t ask the questions here, I do.” She tilted her head. “What were you gonna do when if you found out where I was going?”

Peter shrugged. Honestly, he hadn’t thought that far ahead. He just knew he needed to find out more about your operation. “Why was that other guy so scared of you. I mean, I see you got these guns and all, but I bet he sees enough people with guns for that not to be what freaks him out. What’s so special about you?”

She turned her face away for a moment, her eyes looking distant. “Let’s just say I’m the best in my business.” Peter put his hands down at his sides, while she wasn’t looking, not that he was planning anything, she still had a gun, but his shoulders were becoming sore.

“And what would your ‘business’ be, exactly?” He tilted his head to the side, looking like a curious puppy as he tried to pry deeper into finding out who she was and what she did.

She ruffled at that, knocking him slightly with the gun, just enough to mildly hurt and eliciting a small ‘ow’ from his lips. “Didn’t I saw that was none of your dam business! And I’m supposed to be asking the questions!” She rubbed her temples with the tips of her fingers and for the first time Peter noticed how tired she looked, like she hadn’t slept in a series of days. “I don’t wanna kill you, kid.” ‘Kid? Did she just call me kid?’ “You’re doing some real good for this city, just like I am. Let’s just say we have some ‘conflicts of interest’ so why don’t I drop the gun, and you walk away, and we agree to never see each other again.” That was not something Peter was willing to do, he couldn’t just ‘walk away’ from this.

“I’m sorry, miss, but that’s a no-can-do. You said you were trying to do some good. What do you mean by that?”

“Why don’t you get that you should just stop asking questions?! I’m trying to keep you safe! You need me to spell it out for you? I’m a killer! A Killer! A K-I-L-L-E-R! I kill people! The bad people that are trying to destroy this city! My home! Those monsters out on the street that gun down innocent people and for what? Some big pissing contest?! Who can be the biggest and the baddest?! It’s all some bullshit! Four days ago an entire family was killed in their HOME, 3 kids and their parents because some douche bag with a gun wanted to get rid of a man that lived in the same apartment complex! I hear about that, and I do something about it! So that’s who I was looking for! And I’m gonna find him. You best believe I’m gonna find him and I’m gonna put a nine in his skull and send a grievance card to his mom.” Peter stood silently, mouth agape. He could see the tears threatening to spill down her face and could hear the care in her voice for the people of New York, but she was going about it all the wrong way. Killing people? And an act of justice? Pete didn’t think so. 

“I’ll help you,” he blurted. “But on one condition. we do it my way. No killing. We find him, we catch him, and we give him to the police.” Peter stuck out his hand for her to shake and seal the deal. She eyed it suspiciously, like he might bite her. Taking all her options into consideration, she grabbed his hand and shook forcefully. “Great!” Peter beamed under his mask and she could hear his smile in his voice. “Now what’s your name? I can’t work with someone and not know their name.”

“What’s your name, Spidey?” She looked him up and down and rolled her eyes.

“Fair enough,” he could feel his palms getting sweaty in his gloves. “At least give me something to call you.”

let's all just take a moment and slow clap for tumblr to not even eat the middle parts of my asks, but the first two ones. wow, that's a new low even for you, tumblr. im so disappointed. lmfao, hello :3 my eaten asks were just my last desperate try of telling u my beeping/siren story and also of screaming i heard @8pm from my chinese neighbors, ah, good times lol. i was working a little bit of outlining in a notebook today in math since i finished the test early and it was actually a lot (1/?)

of fun. tbh, outlining has been a lot of fun for this story in general. idk if it's bc im trying even harder or because im letting myself sink into the story, the characters, plot/plot twists, setting, etc.. i even drew two "maps" of the setting of the story and it was great. also, i had written out kinda unnecessary/irrelevant things about tae and reader of the story and i feel a bit closer (???) and like i can understand how i want the characters to act like throughout the story. oh! and i decided to try and write out how their relationship is going to start and how it's going to grow into a strong friendship. i think that way i have a bit more control on how i want them to turn out in the end. I really liked the perks of being a wallflower. the style is kinda peculiar but the plot keeps you hooked and the characters are very cute and lovable. and omg, my mom actually watched that movie one day and she told me to join her, but I remember I was too busy writing lsdlfk. it does seem very interesting and I think I’ll like it if I watch it :) the plot reminds me of the Intouchables and that’s one of my favorite movies of all time.

smol update on my life, im not sure why.. been so long since here, but sometimes i sit worried wondering how ppl i love but lost contact with are doing, always have this fear one day i’ll just never hear from some people again....  aaaanyway. Update. So i have been called several things several more times than expected, ppl say i have a mom like personality, and wow the amount of kinky i could get into surprised even me, specially with how much love and care is in it. 

Had gone through some pretty fucking awful times, me and two people i loved dearly and a friend spent months, maybe an year, in a sort of codependent hurricane of bad, we all suffered from really bad suicidal ideation, depression... it was a shitshow, but, still there was good moments, reasons why i loved them so much, and i knew they could get past it.... i used to not try to hope i would, id say id be happy enough if the two of them ended up happy, even if i died. Of course they said the same thing to themselves...  At some point i scared ppl too much and i was put into suicide watch. Psych obviously saw i was codependent, and it was either limiting my time being able to interact with them severely, or being put on the psychiatric hospital against my will. That time was not good. Had kinda put all the responsibility of their betterment onto me, but during a little bit i was actually in more immediate danger, so they were the ones worried over me... And, well, more complicated things happened, lots of them, i’m so glad we’ve all survived that.... 

It’d be a while before i learned something i had always seen wrong about empathy. i always valued it a lot... several times id try to define myself through it, and in some ways that hasn’t changed. But.. i had to learn that i could be there for others, help them, sympathize with them, but i shouldn’t forget that they’re them, and i’m me. Ever heard of vicarious trauma? i wouldn’t believe it was a thing a lot... i’d think it was me being selfish, trying to turn others’ traumas about me...  But, had same symptoms as trauma, having a word or a situation reminding me of certain things, id feel it immediately, at best a headache, somethings id be scared and panicked, and also things going over and over in my head, unable to leave, showing up in nightmares, also drive to retraumatisation, etc etc. It.. really sucked. It came from, when learning and attempting to help those i love, who had suffered from some really bad things, i didn’t allow myself to feel better than them, in my head id have to be just as miserable, since they didn’t deserve to be miserable, why should i get something better? So yeah, it was some kind of martyr complex, depression telling me i was an awful person often, and me trying to prove it wrong but the bar was beyond what my brain could withstand. i had to learn to put the O2 mask on myself before the next, i can’t help people if i harm myself while doing it. Ok that was a bit much... but.. good news!! We’ve met some amazing ppl lately, and our family is bigger. There’s.. this person who i feel about what id never expect id feel about anyone. Not at first though, it was real cliche how a misunderstanding, (and admittedly me not being the best, or smartest) caused me to kinda hate his guts really fucking hard for a bit. But like, i really dunno how id describe it, person i believe understands what i truly care about the most, and cared just as much if not more. We’re very oddly similar in some things, very very opposed in others, but even when i just can’t agree with him, we say arguments, debate points, and it’s just never destructive, it’s constructive. Of course, i had to learn a bit to get to there though, since, although ive always longed for being able to talk like that, he was some steps ahead of me when it came to having a personal method to do so. Oh, yeah, he is also a lot more intelligent than me, which really pushes me to become more intelligent myself every single day. My drive for self betterment has been better than ever in my life, i always did see i got better at things when there was someone who i wanted to see me succeed, but.. well, will just say it has been incredibly good for me

Oh and he’s so kinky!! It’s interesting, he doesn't even get horny that much, but he believes sex should be something way wayyyyy less taboo than it is in our society. Which, yes i totally agree with. Honestly though, some of the vicarious trauma stuff i said earlier, i thought there was somethings id never be able to see untainted again, some ways to express sexuality that would always remind me of certain horrible feelings, and im so happy i was proven wrong. 

Think i got ahead of myself a bit. I was saying how our family had gotten bigger. Well, the person i was just kinda fangirling about? He’s kinda the reason it did. Him and one of the people i loved met, and then both of them, and them they both were kinda into him a lot (that scared the shit outta me ngl XD), and there were people who already had met him, and people who both groups met mutually in this videogame modding community. My guess is that he has seen how so many servers you can end up meeting awesome ppl but also there are those who kinda try and play politics within, and how it was hard to actually keep these friendships along the time, and so he made a server for those friendships, and it slowly became a family. Gosh.. i could fangirl over each person in the castle for a long time...( oh yeah, server we call castle cuz he is into some medieval fantasy shit, which if you know me you’ll know that shit is my jam (like, fuck being called princess is still something that will get to my heart (although, usually nowadays i get more ‘slut’ or ‘queen’, not much in between XD ))) but one of the things ive learned is how to be more productive with my day, and like, i see now how long i’ve spent on what was supposed to be a very quick update. Seriously, that ‘smol’ up there was a liar. i’ll just say i love them a fucking hell of a lot, they’re snuggly, kind, smart, lovely people. And we all go through some shitty times still, being stronger doesn’t make us invulnerable, but we will support each other, and always get better at doing so. Sometimes it’s overwhelming.. and i get scared  First time in a long time... actually, since ever, except when i was too young to understand anything, where i can actually see any future i can be a part of. 

It’s funny, when i was actually a kid, what id imagine wasn’t too far from this, just well, i believed it was too fantastical to be real. (Although, id never foreseen, for several reasons, that it’d include me being a part of a harem XD which yes we lovingly call some of what we have a harem since most ppl are subby and he’s dommy, even when it’s not sexual CX)

TL;DR: i’m determined and more happy with where i am in life than i thought id get to be! Through good and bad waves, i may cry and fear, but as long as i carry with me the people i love in my heart, and i try to improve at every step, i know i can keep walking. And.. i do try to keep in my heart everyone who’s been important to me, even if i dont see them anymore.

Its organized but probably not to the best of its potential. I can find things  where they are but sometimes I can’t find things.  I would say its like midway.

What kinds of chores did you do during childhood/teenage years?I did alot because my mom is a single mom and she was a fulltime intructor at our community college. So when we came home from school there would be all these chores to do. I had to sweep and mop everyday. My mom and grandma really like a clean space because thats how they grew up. It was never spotless but as long as we did our chores it was ok. Taking out the trash, feeding the dogs, hanging the clothes on the lines, pulling the clothes off lines, fixing the couch, vacuuming the carpet, watering plants.

Would you say you actively seek out new things to try?

I do try to seek them out it's just a matter of of going through with it. I do look for things but its like ‘do i have time to go and do it?’ I would say i do look for new opportunities, its just do i go though with them?

What are some of your goals for your daily life?

I really want to get healthier and i want to establish a more active lifestyle and a better diet. So thats been the goal for a long time o feel like cuz it hard especially as a student. You have a lot of stuff to do and no time to do it. That and also maintaining a cleaner environment cuz my room is quick to get messy, it gets disorganized easily and then i have to push it off. So i think like establishing habits that create a healthier environment for me and my body. So thats like my daily goal that i would like to accomplish.

What are some of your goals in general?

Career wise I really  want to try working at a small to medium studio that focuses on movie-making or like film. I want to try that environment. Maybe even get an internship. I wanna find a place where I want to work (like do research for where/companies I would like to work at)

What are some things that make you feel proud of yourself?

When people like the work that I do cuz i dont like the work i do a lot so it makes me proud when other people like it.

What activities give you the most satisfaction?

Cleaning, cuz it  feels nice to have it all finished afterwords. Having the kitchen all clean and stuff, that really satisfying for me. Also finishing a project and the product at the end is really satisfying. Maybe finishing a book.

What sort of things do you to relieve stress?

Mostly I watch lik shows or lay in bed reading fanfiction. Thats what i find myself doing the most. It really takes you out of daily life mindset, like surfing the internet or whatever. Its just very therapeutic

What is something you wish you had more time to do?

Work on my own art. I feel like i could probably make time to do that but its just really hard to do that. I feel like focusing more on learning the skills that I want to do. I have a lot of things on my list.

I think cleaning is a big one because sometime i leave things to the point where i need to clean it right now and at that point it takes a long time too clean it. That and schoolwork.

Freetime and doing the things I like , thats my main reward. And also food. I will tell myself that if I like stay up long enough to finish this work then i can go get mcDonalds or something. It probably not the best thing to do but its whats working for me right now.

I am mostly just frustrated with myself when i don't utilize my time in a way i know i probably could have. Which is why i am such a procrastinator and leave thing to the last minute which is a big frustration. So i think my frustration is mostly myself

No. Like i was saying I dont do much. I am going to have to say no because i am a procrastinator so a balance is needed. I need that in my life.

Evening hours around 5 and beyond. I like to stay up late and feel the most awake at night uless i am really tired

Only when i ave a list of things i have to do like homework. Dont keep track of things like if i have gone to the store

I think so. I want a routine but its just finding a way to do it...just establishing habits that create a routine, like maybe getting up at a certain time and going to bed at a certain time. I feel like it would add a stability

2018 year in review...

Finally, I'm doing my year in review. Might be a week late, but I wanted you guys to save the best for last. You're welcome. Wow! What a roller coaster year. 

I might as well start at the beginning. By the time 2018 rolled around, I was less than 48 hours away from a hospital stay. I was lucky to get out by then, so I had to take my New Years eve easy. I had a great time hanging out with some friends at my house. Once I fully recovered, January and February went pretty well including a trip to Texas for my birthday. it was a great trip because I got to take Ranger with me. Boy, that dog loved car rides. 

Now came March. The roller coaster began. In the beginning of the month, I finally got an appointment to begin the Spinraza treatment. A moment I'd waited 33 years for. But my excitement was soon extinguished. I ended up at the hospital. First I went for pneumonia and was out in 3 days. Only to return 2 days later. This one was really scary. I had spent all day not being able to swallow anything. I couldn’t even swallow my saliva. This had never happened to me. For the first time in a long time, maybe ever- I really thought this was it. Matter of fact, I had my Mom call my siblings so they could all come and say goodbye. Thankfully after a day of TPN, I was able to regain my strength and swallow again. Now I was getting really close to my appointment up in Kansas City for Spinraza It was imperative for me to get discharged in time to make it to Kansas City. Somehow, I did it. But I was really not in any condition to get out- let lone travel. None the less, I made the appointment basically running my bi-pap the entire time. 

Now the next 4 months were the ,longest 4 months of my life. Why you ask? Well, in order to get Spinraza, you have to go through a lot of hoops. Thats what I did these 4 months. Go through every hoop they put in front of me. The entire time never getting back to full strength, which meant I took my bi-pap everywhere I went. Never knowing when I might need it. This really has been the worst part of the year for me. As I haven't been able to do the things I;m use to such as travel to baseball games, go to concerts, even coach my softball team. I did do softball none the less, unfortunately, I missed at least 30% of the games including a game that probably cost us the championship. Yeah, I have a great softball team now and if I hadn’t made Rush miss a game, we probably would’ve been champions. None the less, 2nd is pretty cool and the whole group is back this year so we can go get that championship. (I might be getting a little cocky, but I'm ok with that- I believe in my team).

Finally in July, I got the news of my life. I have been cleared to begin Spinraza. My first dose would be given to me in the middle of August. After I hung up the phone, I had tears in my eyes. I never expected to receive treatments for SMA in my lifetime. Its not a cure but its a step in the right direction. Now before I continue, I do want to take time out to really thank Christi who works with Biogen as a liaison. All her hard work made this all a reality. I could never thank her enough. 

Alright finally August is here. to say I was a nervous wreck would be an understatement. I was excited more than anything but you always have nerves when you're entering an unknown. Would they be able to give me the injection, would it help(I'm really tired of my bi-pap), and would it be painful? If you are lucky enough to receive the injection at KU Med in Kansas City, you have nothing to worry about. Everybody in interventional radiology make up the dream team. A little back ground, the injections are done as a spinal tap. I am not an ordinary human being. My spine is held together by metal rods and wire. Even with all this I am still one bent individual. Not many people could find my spinal cord, let alone stick a needle of that caliber in it. For these Doctors, it is a non-issue. Not to mention it is almost pain free. By the time you add in the nurses and aides who help ease the patients and inform them of everything, they truly are the dream team of the medical field. Not to mention they really do care and being a patient as much as I have been, that means a lot. 

Dose one was great, my only setback was a spina headache that they warned me about, I did as they directed and instantly the headache was gone. Dose 2 had zero setbacks, and I was really seeing the progress. Then came Pneumonia. Like an idiot, I tried to rush it so I wouldn’t miss my third dose. This mistake almost cost me my life. After a day being out of the hospital, I developed my swallowing problem again. I got readmitted and started to receive TPN, but this time they wouldn’t let me out until I had finished my whole course of antibiotics. I agreed with that since I had already missed my injection date, I might as well get healthy. This is wheee I made my fatal flaw. I got lazy and decided to keep receiving TPN instead of getting up and drinking my normal amounts. I found out my body can get too much of a good thing. By day 4 I was sicker than a dog. Day 5 and 6 went by without any improvements. I was tired of being at the hospital so I decided to look into hospice care. Once I found out that if I received hospice, I would no longer get Spinraza, I decided on a different route. I got my nurse to disconnect the TPN, and 6 hours later, I was starting to feel better. The next morning, I had to convince the Doctor to let me out of that hospital without Hospice. Of course, it was an argument but we prevailed. 

Finally, I was feeling better and ready to do another dose. Only problem was-when you miss one dose they take you off the schedule. I was not aware of this rule. So one trip to KC was a waste. But right away, I got to witness again how great this dream team is. By the time we were out of the Kansas City area, I was scheduled for my 3rd and 4th injections. 

As you can tell, there were highs and lows. I am now past my loading doses and am looking forward to my 1st maintenance injection, which should be at the beginning of March. Now I have seen tons of improvements. My drinking has increased by 33%, everyone says I'm easier to understand, and most importantly, my bi-pap use has gotten less. I’m not where I want to be yet, but I feel I'm closer and after another dose or 2 I should be off the bi-pap full time during the day. 

I can’t do a year in review without some sports talk. My Jayhawks made the Final 4 last year, that was a surprise, and they returned a good team this year who right now are having problems but I trust Self to right the ship. My Rangers sucked last year and it looks like they will suck again this year. Hopefully though, this year I can make it down to a couple games. It pains me that last year I lost my streak of 11 straight years of catching at least one Ranger game. And since I've been stuck at home a lot, I picked up Hockey again, go Avs! 

As far as family and friends, nothing really new to report. I’m blessed to have the best support group around me as I could ask for. Everybody helps me out when I need it and lets me fail when I need to. That last part may sound weird but as I grow older and I see more millennials I thank God that my parents let me fail some. It is important to discover the person you are when you are facing adversaries. Cuz, news flash -- life ain’t perfect! If it wasn’t for such a great support system, I would have died in March or September without a doubt. I love you guys for giving me a reason to live. I promise I will push through this adversity (aka: bi-pap usage) and be back stronger than ever and start getting back to life. Casinos- be ready to lose money! 

That was for the most part, my year in a nutshell. Wasn’t a whole lot of excitement, but I will make up for it this year. Now for my New Years resolutions, 1. a kinder gentler Casey, I have been told I run people off. So Im working on it. 2. More blogs, but with this will come basically editorials. My life isn’t interesting so if I'm going to write, it will be about the world around us. Crap, that might hurt resolution #1. 3. Eat solid foods again. I’m not there yet, but I know I will get there. Watch out cake-- you’re going down (my throat).

Ok so i currently DRIVE a 2005 Mazda 3. When I originally moved to Florida 3 years ago, My good friend, who I moved to florida to live with, so graciously loaned out the car for me. I just bought my first car Saturday. My dad went to the DMV to get it registered and insured. Then, he called our insurance company to get a quote for how much driver's insurance is for a 16 year old female. Appearance: hm i’m real short like i’m 5’0 and a half. i have tiny hands and tiny feets. i’m hispanic (puerto rican and cuban) so i’m a little tan but still light skinned. i have a lil beauty mark on my right cheek. i have brown eyes and long eyelashes that instead of fuckin sticking up they stick out so you would never know my eyelashes are so long -_-. i have like brown…reddish…blackish..hair??? but then there’s some blonde?? idk it’s weird i dyed it red last year but my mama wanted me to go back to my original hair and go black soo now i’m stuck with whatever this is?? my hair is medium length AND WONT FUCKIN GROW FOR SHIT. it’s like wavy but straight?? idk man. i have tiny tits and my body is mostly legs which makes me want to cut them off :). i’m like skinny…but not?? it’s weird. my back has this weird natural arch (which i hate). my nose is like a rats from the side but isn’t that bad from the front?? my eyebrows are naturally thin and arched and let’s just say i always look angry… i have braces and…yeah. there’s nothing else really to me.

Personality: i’m gullible, easy to please with certain things, i’m a really deep thinker, i worry too much, i’m shy around people i think are cooler than me, i’m an open book but slowly i’m closing up more and more, i’m bipolar, i fall in love too easily, i’m actually rlly funny, i’m nice when i want to be, i’m constantly going between what i need and what i want, i like when ppl listen to what i say and take it in. i’m good at giving advice for some things. i’m super emotional and a lot of things get to me. it’s so hard for me to stick to one thing for a long amount of time. like i could be in love with someone but then one day my brain tells me “let’s stop loving this person for the little reasons that will mean nothing in a week. idc if they’re the only person that truly loves you. sounds like a you problem” like i ruin things for myself. it’s like my heart and my brain are two separate beings. i’m indecisive. i’m gentle and warm and soft with others and i’m aggressive, cold, and harsh with myself. i have extremely high expectations for myself and for (some) others which when i’m brought back to reality, i’m then disappointed always. i have trust issues when it comes to my heart.

Ability: i can sing (im self taught and never had any classes but i’m actually kinda good), i can draw sorta, i can dance (also self taught never had classes), i’m good at acting (this is my first year being in theatre but i’ve been acting my whole life with my sister. we used to do skits and stuff together but not like funny ones. like straight drama and tragedy. i’m good at making things make sense and wording things a certain way that just makes things click.

Hobbies: o god uh watching youtube, drawing, singing, acting, dancing, crying, being confused, and…tumblr

Experiences: i went to my first youth convention this year and it was rlly amazing. ummm wow i love how can’t remember any thing i’ve ever done?? trust me i’ve done a lot more o god. um oh!! we drove from florida all the way to new york and on the way we almost fell in a corn field in pennsylvania, we were about to sleep in a gross motel but there were roaches in the mattress so we somehow found a much better hotel and when we got to new york my mom pissed herself. i went to china town and the city and it was just such a good time. one time our car broke down on our way to north carolina and it was horrible. also hurricane irma was terrifying. i live in florida so where i live got hit hard. i’ve been through a lot of other shite but this is all that’s coming to mind rn for some reason.

My Life: for some reason my life is so depressing. my mom is always miserable and crying and sick and in pain. my sister is always sick and she’s rlly ill and has a lot of physical issues, my dad works like a dog but still doesn’t make enough money, my mom hates her job too. we’ve never owned a house, always rented. i go through my own problems mentally and emotionally. but my sister and parents are always fighting which makes me shake and scared and it’s hard to sleep. my parents aren’t very understanding (at all) and it’s just rlly hard. but other ppl have gone through and STILL go through much much worse. i have a more than sturdy roof over my head, good quality clothes, a warm bed to sleep in, a surplus of good food to eat, and for the most part love.

Random Stuff: i was in swim this year for my school and i fucking hated it but hey i got my varsity letter so whatever.

i’m horrible at math but i have honors english and i’ve always been on top when it comes to english and language arts but at the bottom with math of any kind. the only math i can kinda do is algebra 1 math.

i like every genre of music. like yes i even like this one country song. don’t judge. i mean i never listen to it but i like it. if you were to shuffle my songs 10 times you’d get 10 different genres. i just love music so much and i have a very strong passion for it. well i have a strong passion for the arts in general.

i’m a freshman but im supposed to be a sophomore but because my birthday is in november florida decided to hold me back in pre-k for an extra year just cuz of that??? it’s rlly dumb i hate florida.
