i really like when they adapt a series in a way that suits the new medium + provides alternate but harmonious development to the original series. adaptations don’t need to be 100% faithful to the original storyline as long as they remains faithful to the original themes and purposes

Offers are out to SHINee's MINHO & Apink's Son Naeun for Family Romance Kdrama "Melo House"

After the Netflix’s “The Fabulous” SHINee’s CHOI MINHO is considering another drama to star. This time the singer/ rapper/ model/ actor is offered to star in a family romance Korean drama “Melo House”. Likewise the offers are also out to Ji Jinheee (The Road: The Tragedy of One) and Kim Jisoo (High Class) who are currently considering the roles of a divorced couple. According to news, all 4 are currently reviewing to star in the drama. “Melo House” will tell the story of 4 people who always feels something missing in their lives, heal when they come together as a family. Nam Taepyong is a security guard at a local supermarket. He was a member of the Taekwondo National Team earlier. Byun Moojin and Geum Aeyeon are ex husband and wife. They divorced 14 years ago when Byun Moojin lost in his business. They also have a daughter Byun Mirae. She is the eldest daughter who is always in trouble due to her family. Mother and daughter again cross paths with Byun Moojin. However, now he is a billionaire.

If confirmed MINHO will take the role of security guard, Nam Taepyong. Apink’s Naeun will play the role of Byun Mirae. While Ji Jinhee and Kim Jisoo will portray the roles of ex-husband and wife.

Coming from the writer of drama “My Secret Romance” and PD of “My ID is Gangnam Beauty” , “Melo House” is expected to release at the end of 2023 or in 2024.

Playful Kiss

Possibly the first kdramas i've ever watched, it was either this one or The Miracle. I enjoyed it at first but i found it was an adaptation of Itazura na Kiss and went to watch the other adaptations and hated the story as a whole. Also when I found the Thai version it was game over cus that version is so much better than the source material.

Weighlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo

It was cute!! And very funny, I don't have much to say about it tho.

Goblin

Ignoring the fact he is idk how many years old and she was 18-19 when they properly meet... it's kinda cute. And heartbreaking. The Goblin and Reaper duo is also just iconically hilarious.

Doom At Your Service

MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE EVER!! The writing is so good and the story is so beautiful and I mean, Park Bo-Young is one of my favorite actresses for a reason. I just cannot properly put into words how much i adore this show, honestly.

While You Were Sleeping

How I meet both Suzy and Lee Jong-Suk and i loved them and their characters both so much. The story was very engaging too.

Strong Woman Bong-Soon

Park Bo-Young and Park Hyung-sik <3 Do Bong-Soon and Ahn Min-Hyuk <3 They were too good in this man, I'd love to see them in another drama together. One thing that felt uncessary to me was the gangsters and their whole screentime, it just wasnt entertaining or important to the story afjsahfkdagj

Very funny, very entertaining. Also how I feel in love with Cha Eun-woo. Also yes I loved Seo-jun but it made a lot more sense for Joo-kyung to be with Su-ho, me thinks.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo

Entertaining but the depiction of mental disabilities is really just... atrocious. It's a little hard to rewatch tbh.

Kim Se-jeong is a treasure. And this show was very funny and cute.

Also one of the first ones i've watched, hilarious too. But i dont remember thinking much about the romance tbh. At least it's on the shorter end so if you dont feel like committing to 16+ 1-hour long episodes, this is a good one

I remember very little about this one lol but i do remember the over fatphobia, like yes its what the show criticizes but i remember feeling so uncomfortable watching it. it's been like 7 years tho so i cant properly talk about it

comic book characters being self aware <3 also think this was did a fantastic job with that concept. it also made me cry so badly, my heart still aches for Haru and Dan-Oh

This is the one last one I finished, and I binged it. Was not expecting to be so enthralled by a drama that's essencially about news reporting but I was.

Although he isn't the main character in this Drama, he still left a lasting impression as MJ, I found him charming as the bad boy.

Revenge Note

He was so sweet in this Drama, even if the role was just playing himself. And I would have died if my brother was best friends with him.

My ID is Gangnam Beauty

I loved how different his character was as Do Kyung Suk compared to the person he actually is. Cold but also perceptively sensitive, I fell in love with him immediately.

Top Management

He was absolutely adorable as Woo Yeon Woo, his personality and charm just had me swooning. Not to mention that damn smile.

Rookie Historian Goo-Hae Ryung

He was absolutely cute and pure as Prince Yirim, right from his entrance, to the very last episode. Even his childish moments were hilariously adorable.

Soul Plate

I have to say this was absolutely adorable, the members of ASTRO acting as Angels running a restaurant suits them well. And he never fails to draw my eyes even when he isn't the main focus.

True Beauty

One of the first Dramas I ever watched of his, and the one that made me fall in love with him. His role as Lee Su Ho was so different from the person I've come to know him as.

Island

My absolute favourite role of his yet. Not because he looked absolutely amazing in a Priests vestments, but just the way he potrayed Yohan. Those battle scenes make him look absolutely stunning.

A Good Day to be a Dog

A very cute story, I waited until the hype of everyone else watching died down before I did, and I wasn't disappointed from the first episode.

Wonderful World

This Drama is definitely next on my list, I can't wait to see this one. If it's anything like Island, then I'm all in.

230616 Choi Minho, Son Naeun are casted for romance drama, 'Melo House'

SHINee member and actor Choi Minho will appear in "Melo House" (temporary title). According to the interview on 16th, Minho is now considering for this role.

Choi Minho plays as a former member of the taekwondo national team and a security guard at a green mart store named Nam Taepyeong, who also has a hidden family story. In the process, he's getting closer to Byun Mirae (Son Naeun).

"Melo House" is written by the writer of "My Secret Romance", Kim Youngyoon and and directed by Kim Daye who was the producer of 'My ID is Gangnam Beauty'.

If he confirms then this will be his reunion drama with Naeun after 'Most Beautiful Goodbye' (they played as couple as well there)

Btw, 'Most Beautiful Goodbye' is such a good drama though. 4 episodes filled with emotions and worth watching! The story, the acting, everything are perfect.

Minho is a supporting character, but his acting is really splendid and noticeable. Definitely recommended.

I enjoyed the original K-drama version of “My ID is Gangnam Beauty”. I thought it touched well about plastic surgery, society perception of what is considered a beauty and what drives people to proceed with the surgeries to achieve the standard of what is considered a “beauty”

But at the heart of is, what is considered beauty?

Also it helps that perfumes and scents are such an integral part the original k-drama (and perfumes are my weakness!! The amount of perfumes that I have….. 😅) - it seems that the Thai version keep with that aspects, yay!
