Welcome to the show I’ve made in my head, ok where to begin? I guess with how boring I find Charlie nd vaggie in the show proper, I like them, they just don’t have any real spice to them. Charlie is a just a girl, she has no real friends and just surrounds herself with others problems. Check out the beginning of episode four, husk just says that out loud, we saw it once with angel dust and then they totally drop it for the rest of the show. I wanted to see Charlie fail and get back up again, but we don’t see that! Idk maybe I want more out of the text but I hated to see Charlie act like a baby, not a young woman, I makes me so mad that she isn’t really friends with anyone, no fun dynamics, Charlie kinda just looks at her guests and ‘employees’ but she never sees them. I mean like give me some bff moments with Charlie, she has no friends, she a loser baby!

Vaggie is the best better at making friends, and enemies honestly she is the second protagonist. I hated her until I saw her fuck ass bob. I fell in love

Ok so I made a prequel hazbin design that I just fell in love with, here she is. Ok so girls is bugs, vaggie is a moth and lute is a mantis, they grew up together in heaven. Being raised to be an exorcist was pretty sweet except for the military indoctrination!

So vaggie is now in hell and is saved by Charlie, who believes that vag is a sinner. Eventually they get together romantically and start working on the happy hotel project, then they get angle dust as a guest. You know the deal, but how did vag get with Charlie? Who asked who out? I love how loyal vaggie is to Charlie but WHY is she so loyal? I think because Charlie wanted to ask about vaggies life and she took the opportunity to become a new person !

I think having char be the ray of sunshine in such a violent place attracts the lost and broken to her is cool. Vaggie tells ridiculous lies about her human life like being ran over by a horse. And being a pirate captain. Vaggies colors go from green to purple, aesthetic goes from Joan of arc lesbian to a captain Ching Shih lesbian yknow what I mean?

Charlie is taken in with this eccentric woman and befriends her. And also when Charlie and vaggie start to get closer char gifts her the red ribbon that vaggie wears all the time. The pink red is Charlies color and it sticks to all of her friends! Like when angel and Charlie get really close she gifts him the hot pink gloves and he wears them for the duration of the show. (I’ll write about that in another post lol)

MY CHARLIE loves to feed people food she’s made, so she just keeps feeding vaggie and the she starts to beef up, buff 5’4 vaggie lets gooooo. They cook food together and help sinners together. I forgot to mention that Charlie in my perfect world does actual charity work, she works down at the soup kitchen and cleans up the parks and gives people work, Charlie is just constantly busy and never gives herself a day off. Vaggie does her best to help while constantly working on her prodigious.

These girls also work at the local theater! They do a lot of dress up! And i really liked the idea that Charlie is astanged from her dad and is no contact with him. So she isn’t some princess that’s throwing money at the poor. She builds her own motel for the happy hotel project so that when it is destroyed they can build the hotel proper and have an actual emotional impact.

A little comic I sketched of out, Charlie was calling her dad for help with the hotel but he completely shuts her down and calls her idea dumb, I liked when Lucifer was a shitty dad that called Charlie a failure, instead of some sad loser who forgets to call his daughter, like I have a shitty dad and he tore down lots of my ideas and then is confused when I don’t talk to him.

Like idk how there are so many characters with daddy issues but they all are poorly written…

What else is there? Ermmm, I suppose I like Charlie as a demon that looks the most human out of the cast, like sure she has clown makeup as skin but giving her round ears and a demon tail looks super cute. And in the first few episodes Charlie hides her tail and uses it as a belt, and as a show of faith she reveals her tail to the hazbin gang!

A - Aftercare This poor man. He switches from ruthless to being the most worrisome man in the world. You might doze off, but you will wake up to food and water and be wrapped up in a blanket while he lies cold behind you.

B - Bff Similar to how he is as a bf, I think he would worry 24/7. He knew you were a little oblivious at times and couldn't help but hope no one bothered you while he was away from you.

C - Cum (legit so awkward to write this cause its interesting to describe lol) He has a bit of a shitty diet so this reflects that lol. It's more clear than anything else and sticks to legit everything. Still enjoyable to take in LOL

D - Domestic (settling down) If you were ready, he would be too. He likes to cook, especially with you, and wouldn't mind taking on the house-husband role outside of work.

E - Experience Might seem like big shit but is probably truly learning with you, prove me wrong. He might have a club, see ladies, and get bitches all the time, but sex? No clue.

F - Favorite Position Cowgirl's helper is a yes along with leapfrog. I think just anything to where he could see your body react to him would be fine. These are only 2 out of many though.

G - Gentleness SO GENTLE. GENTLEMAN. If you have a headache and you're into brushing your hair to relieve stress, you bet he is going to do it for you. Have stuff in your hands? He's taking them and walking in the door, he doesn't care if it's heavy, he's taking them.

H - Hugs? It might weird him out at first, but if you do it enough, he will ask for them every day almost.

I - Intimacy Not romantic enough to have music playing or anything, but he might light your favorite candle and take a bath with you...

J - Jealousy If it's in one of his places, and he owns a lot, he will get mad and fire any employee that looks you up and down.

P - Patience Surprisingly patient. Wants shit done but can wait if it's necessary.

Q - Quickies Perfectly fine with them. Although it's normally just a name since he likes to take his time and it turns into an hour in the bathroom instead of a few minutes.

R - Risks He's risky all the time. Like mentioned above, a little clueless when it comes to the deed so you might need to explain the quote 'risk' before he goes at it.

S - Security Cares about you SO MUCH. Ran >>>> bodyguard

T - Toys? He has them. They're still in the packaging.

U - Ugly Habits He has a bad habit of forgetting things. Important things. It could be a simple meeting, or it could be a bigger thing like forgetting to eat.

V - Volume Loud af. Doesn't really care if someone hears, but you're equally as vocal so... guttural moans every time with praises.

W - Would they be whole without you? Absolutely not. He would beat himself up, even if it wasn't his fault you left him. If he left you, it would only ever be because it was for your safety.

X - X-ray Girthy and 5-6 inches. Cute little mushroom top :)

Y - Yearning Depends. If he has been tired for the past week due to work, begs you for a taste. Ordinarily, honestly could care less if it's not important to you either. If you ask, ofc he will. But won't outright be desperate like when he is tired.

Z - Zzz Sleep for so long. IDK WHY HE IS SO TIRED??? Maybe it's just a bad sleeping habit that became a habit, he will sleep in most days and be late to work.

Hehehe you know I didn't even catch that. An otome literary fanzine would be pretty cool though. There probably already is one and I just don't know about it xD Well, anyway, here's some adorable Sasuke being too sweet for approx. 800 words.

Sasuke pushed aside another branch and waved away the cloud of gnats that flew into the gap. This trip was turning into quite the hike unexpectedly. But the road he intended to take was washed out and now he and Mai were forging their own path through the valley. On a map, it looked like a shortcut but in reality, it was kilometers of thick undergrowth that took a lot of time to navigate.

“Are we there yet,” Mai called from behind him. She was breathing hard but still smiling, her cheeks red with effort and the heat of a summer afternoon.

“It depends on what you mean by there,” the ninja countered. 

She laughed and stopped for a moment, leaning against a tree. “That wasn’t philosophical.”

Sasuke’s lips twitched into the ghost of a smile. “Oh? Well if we’re being literal . . . I guestimate another hour of this before we’re around the blockage and back on the road. Maybe two.”

“Ugh. Well, it’s not like we can call an Uber. I just hope there’s a bath and a really soft bed at the other end of this.”

“The odds of both are high.” Sasuke let her pass under the branch he held and then let it go. He hoped he was right about the town they were headed to. It was technically a work trip, so amenities were not a guarantee. If the facilities were lacking, he would make it up to her, he thought. 

Spoiling Mai was one of his favorite hobbies. Right up there with hanging out with his BFF and fanboy-ing the warlords. He knew all of her favorite foods, the bands she liked (but couldn’t listen to anymore), tv shows (same), colors, fabrics and . . . other things.

“Hey. Why are you smiling like that?” She glanced at him over her shoulder, catching him in the middle of a naughty grin. 

“No reason.” He pushed his glasses up on his nose and sped up to walk in front again. The smile stayed put as he navigated past thorn bushes and found paths around clusters of brush. 

They found the road again just as the sun began to set. It looked like they would arrive in town just after dark. Hopefully early enough to get a good meal and that bath he knew Mai would want. 

As they stepped out onto the smooth, packed dirt, she went a little ahead of him. Mai stretched up on her toes, reaching toward the blushing sky. Her hair hung in a braid, with the loose bits sweat-stuck to her forehead and the nape of her neck. A few leaves and twigs stuck out from her hair and clothes, and mud stained her hem. Sasuke was certain he’d never seen a more beautiful woman. 

“You are giving me a look again.” She dropped her hands to her hips. 

“Can’t help it.” The golden light set off the tint of her skin and made her eyes glow. He still couldn’t understand how a woman like her fell for a man like him. But he was so glad she had. Sasuke closed the distance between them in a few steps. “I can’t take my eyes off you.”

Mai blushed, staining her cheeks an even darker hue. “You’ve been spending too much time with Shingen. Are you going to ask me if I’m a thief next?”

“A thief?”

“Yeah, because I stole your heart.” 

Sasuke laughed. “No. You can’t steal something when I gave it to you already.” Which was also probably something Shingen could say. Well, you couldn't top the flirt-master. He reached for her hand and squeezed it gently. “I love getting to look at you every day.”

“Even when I’m filthy and sweaty and probably covered in bugs and dirt?” She raised a skeptical eyebrow.

“Especially then. You’re like a wild forest fairy today. Though, I don’t believe in fairies. But the fairy is an accurate comparison, as a literary device to denote -”

Mai kissed him, silencing the lecture with her sweet, salty lips. When she pulled back, she tapped him on the nose. “Sometimes you explain too much. You can stop at ‘fairy’.”

Sasuke felt his heart skip a beat at the love in her eyes right then. He chuckled and nodded. “Noted.” His thumb stroked her knuckles on the hand he still held. “Can I kiss you again?”

“Hmmm. I don’t know. Let’s weigh the pros and cons.” She nibbled her lower lip thoughtfully. “Pros, you are a really good kisser. And I like being kissed. That about covers it. Then cons. The cons are -” Mai paused. “Well, actually, I can’t think of any cons.”

“I’ll take that as a yes.” When he kissed her again, he felt as if he were flying. All of his tiredness disappeared in the softness of her lips and the feel of her in his arms.

What are your biggest hopes for season 6?

Ahh, so many that I fear I'm asking for too much and setting my expectations too high and thus, setting myself up for disappointment. But it's been sooo long since we had new scenes. Alas, here are my hopes.

-Sharing your view in Jenna's pregnancy not being brought into the show. Between Alyssa and Mekia, we've had three unexpected pregnancies in 2.5 seasons. It's to be expected when you have married women in their 30's on a show, but it's been a lot. And quite honestly, I don't think a Bailan pregnancy would make sense. Nolan and Jess broke up because he was so on the fence about having another kid and starting over. He's even older now and I personally think he and Bailey enjoy a child free life evidenced by the episode where the power goes out and everyone comes to stay at their place and they sneak off to the Four Seasons. I am thrilled for Jenna and Steve, but personally I hope they film around this.

-Finally getting to see the big bad explained!

-I REALLY (and here's where I think I'm setting myself up for disappointment) want more scenes shown rather than told when it comes to "sexy time". There are ways to shoot/alude to sex that are tasteful. We saw it in the scene the first Tim and Lucy start to hook up. The laundry room, the whole "I was going to tell you, but then you got in the shower, and then I got in the shower", the awkward hugs, it just doesn't feel natural and it bugs me. I don't know what's causing it, but I do hope for more romance this season.

-I want Aaron to live, I think that's a given!

-As much as Elijah annoys the crap out of me, I do want to see where things lead between him and Oscar. Oscar's a downright sociopath and he did stab Wesley, but he and Nolan are pretty chummy, and I wonder if it'll be like one of those situations where Oscar becomes territorial. IE those are my people and only I can fuck with them.

-I know it's not likely to happen, but man, I miss Silas. He was so sweet and had a great sense of humor!

-I'd love to see Vanessa Chen make another appearance, especially now that Lucy's dating Tim.

-Tamara in whatever scenes, as long as she's not getting between Tim and Lucy😅

-Tim acknowledging and admitting that he, Lucy, and Tamara are a family and live together, lol.

-And, I'm going to add here basically everything you said, because it's all what I want too! The I love you, moving in together, my boy kojo (because where has he been??) Genny finally naming her second kid, and just allowing Celina and Aaron to be platonic bffs because we just don't see enough of that on tv.

I think she's quiet and shy and clever but he discovers she is very funny, she just doesn't make it obvious to the rest of the class who think she's maybe a bit dull and stuck up, because she's clever in class? Sitting next to her, he gets to hear her witty comments under her breath about the teacher, he sees the band logos she's drawn on her pencil case, the lyrics etc she helps him when he's stuck. They pass each other notes or doodle notes to each other in their books - memories they'll come back to years later and laugh about and show their kids.

yes!! me and bff @throughthepostmodernlens were talking about this, and i think there's also an aspect of "i am so sick of having misbehaving boys sat next to me because i'm quiet and teachers think i'll be a good influence on them and expect me to mother them instead of being allowed to focus on my own education" to girly, which is partially why a lot of people assume you're stuck-up (really, you're just fed up). and i think when you tell george that, it's very eye-opening for him (kick-starting teenage george into full-blown feminism) and he's like "actually yeah that IS unfair why are you expected to do the teacher's job" and resolves never to be an arsehole to you and distract you and whatever. joke's on both of you, though - in him making an effort to be calm and studious and less cray cray and you making an effort to be nice to him and a bit more open, you both end up distracting each other because you become genuine friends and chat (within reason - you're still making sure you do everything you need to get done lol). and george is pleasantly shocked at how funny you are - like you said, sarcastic comments and insults under your breath that only he can hear, or passing little notes to him to keep conversations going - and thinks you might actually be the wittiest person he knows. obviously, there's a mutual crush that develops (because yeah fair enough you didn't want to sit next to him because you thought he was mad but oh my god look at him???), and george starts inviting you to shows; everyone is lowkey baffled when you show up - not in a bad way, like people don't hate you lol they just think you're quiet - but you think the band are great, you come to more shows, you actually become friends with all of them (it takes you a while with matty, probably, because he's so fucking loud and bugs the shit out of you, but you get there lol), you start to champion them a little bit and help out when needed with random shit. and yeah, you and george slowly become closer and closer until you're an actual couple, and you just stay that way lol. very golden retriever bf/black cat gf vibes, i think. adorable! <3

Genuinely didn't think that I would be doing this this week, but well. Things have changed. A bit. And I have a ton of thoughts that might turn out to be very wrong, lol.

Favorite Characters (Most to Least Fave atm)

Sand - Look, he isn't moving. I know this, you know this. He'd have to do some extremely heinous shit or be epically boring for me to move him from my top spot, and I don't foresee either of those things happening. I adore him, your honor. He's setting himself up to get his heart broken and a part of him seems to know that and yet he's still going straight for it. He's the moth, Ray is the bug zapper, and he'll be very lucky if he gets out of this mildly singed and not burnt to a crisp.

But. Just a mild observation here. Forthright as this dude is - and he is very forthright, he says what he thinks and how he feels - anyone else noticed that he doesn't tend to get personal? We got Ray here talking about his mom, Top talking about the fire, even Nick and Boston opening up about their dreams and Nick about his curly headed past (I bet he was adorable). But two characters have notably said not a fucking thing. Sand is one of them. All we know about this dude from his own mouth is that he's poor and that he's an equal opportunity kind of lover (and I love that last thing for him, I really do). I just get the sense that there's some capital I Issues happening with him.

And I know we love his big doe eyes, but anyone else seeing something a little calculating in there or am I just reaching (I am probably reaching, but I desperately need him to be about more than his unrequited feelings for Ray going forward)?

I still hold true to my opinion that he's a game player who has never had to deal with actual feelings getting involved and that once they do it's gonna be bad, both in the protect him sense and in the sense that he's going to be taking a wrecking ball to every single person in his vicinity (and hopefully doing it with glee. And I'm back to thinking he's keeping Ray on the back burner, lol. This ep made me think no but the preview made me think yes (oh don't worry I know Boston is planting jealousy seeds in Top's ears that I'm not even sure he really believes - he knows about Ray's crush but well, I'm not getting anything from Mew. But there's just a certain way Mew treats Ray that just...makes me think he likes the attention. NO judgement, honestly. Ray's feelings are his own problem).

I said already that he has different personas with everyone he talks to. For Chueam he's the flustered, almost overwhelmed naive virgin. For Boston he's this weird mix of guarded and vulnerable. For Ray he's the oblivious and appreciative BFF. And for Top he's this sassy, smart, sexy but still innocent and slightly wary almost boyfriend. All those things are very probably facets of his true self, but I'm fascinated with how he puts them on and takes them off for people.

Boston - there's just something going on here. I don't even know if he wants Top at this point, but he very definitely doesn't want Mew to have Top. I think he feels like he and Mew are in a competition - not just for Top's affection or dick or whatever, but in general. Mew represents the antithesis of everything Boston is - he's the guy who wants the commitment, who wants the trappings. Boston is not. But I think deep down Boston knows that Mew is the guy that's gonna get the intrigue. Mew is the gold standard. He's the good one that you bring home, that you settle down with. And I think that Boston feels more threatened by that than he does by Top, specifically, wanting him.

I also feel like Boston wants to prove that in the end, all anyoen cares about is getting their dick wet. I'm not seeing finer feelings here, I'm seeing resentment of the way Mew chooses to live his life, and that is SO much more interesting to me than him being in love.

If anyone is our Brian Kinney, it's Boston. And honestly, this ep made me think that Nick might actually be his Justin and that is weird af to me.

Ray - by far the biggest surprise. I thought I'd go the other way with him. Khaotung strikes again, I guess. I don't actually like him, tbh, and I am very frustrated by the woobification happening in fandom, but oh is this one interesting.

Don't think that I didn't clock that liquor next to his mom. My first thought was sue of side, but well, drinking yourself to death is a form of that, isn't it? Just a slower one. And now her son is following in her footsteps, like he inherited her issues with alcohol the same way he did her records. And I think he knows it, and that's tragic af.

He's exactly as needy as I knew he would be, too. And frankly, I'm interested in his substance abuse problem - clearly he goes in and out of it, if Mew's comment about his flask was any indication. And that small sips line? Yeeeah, that's bad. That's really bad. I knew they'd give Khaotung meat to chew on.

Top - I KNOW. I never thought he'd get above number six either. But I kind of feel for him? It's not even about the fire trauma. It's that I think that he's actually struggling against himself to be what Mew says he wants, and that fascinates me a little. He's as bad as Ray in his own way, and that's so interesting to me.

I think he's gonna cave and do the easy thing because the easy thing is familiar and because Boston's gonna drip enough poison in his ear about Mew and Ray (and he's seen enough of the way Ray and Mew are with each other) to make him doubt, plus Mew's testing him is gonna grate. But do I think that inherently makes him evil? Nah, not really. I can't abide a cheater personally so I won't be sad if Mew just wrecks him and they don't wind up getting back together or whatever, but I'm not gonna pretend I can't see why it's happening, either.

Nick - sorry but he was boring this ep. I want to see him create some havoc or be a little messier. Right now he's just kinda making me sad and I want him to be more than crushed dreams, lol.

Chueam - look Lookjun hot and Nonnie adorable but I need more out of her please. Is she really just gonna be the mom friend/cheerleader, because if so I hate that for her. Jojo let the lesbians fuck at the very least, please.

Relationships (most to least fave)

This is basically the same as last week, really. Except this week I see way more potential in BostonNick actually turning into something and way less in SandRay.

Specifically, I feel like there's potential for Nick to blindside Boston. Boston isn't harboring feelings for someone else, I don't think. He just thinks that feelings are useless, that fucking is what's important, and I think that's how Nick might actually slide in. Boston doesn't know the danger he could be in because he doesn't even think to look for it.

And as for SandRay, well...I know that Khaotung and First's chemistry is amazing, okay. I'm not blind. But when it comes to these characters...Ray sees Sand as a possession, something he can control, if not with money (which he tries first, remember), then with sex. He is very much just using Sand to fill a gap. Things are gonna get very rough when Sand goes back to reasserting his own personhood, I think. Because while I do think that Sand's gonna be an idiot, I do see a core of steel in him which makes me think he will only bend for Ray for so long, and that's when Ray's gonna turn mean.

Look, I know people like Ray. I've been people like Ray. Trust me when I say that man knows what he wants from Sand and his heart has nothing to do with it. Ray will let go of his thing for Mew only if he's forced to, he's gonna cling to it against all odds, and until he stops there's never gonna be room for anyone else. He won't let there be. Sand's gonna get his heart trampled and it's gonna hurt a lot.

I will say this: if Ray stops being so forward with Sand, that's how you'll know real feelings are creeping in. He can afford to beg him and cajole him and pester him because his feelings aren't engaged and it doesn't matter if he looks stupid or if Sand thinks he's pathetic or turns him down. He ever gets to the point where that stops happening, then I'll believe things are changing.

Besides that, that man doesn't need a lover, he needs a therapist (very probably both of them do). But if he can't or won't do that, my honest to god hope is that when he and Sand implode they actually manage to salvage a real friendship out of it. That's currently my best case scenario for those two.

Also I want Top and Sand to smash. Give it to me in the present or in flashbacks don't care how I want it now.

In Conclusion

I thought this week's ep was better than last. Didn't think that it would come for me as hard as it did but there you go. I had way too many thoughts about everything and everyone and I'm not even sure I'm halfway correct but I've haven't had the urge to study every expression and write so many thoughts down about a drama since My Beautiful Man. So make of that what you will.

The Phils, 2023

I feel far removed enough from our trip to the Phils last year to write down memories of it to remember in my old age. Sans any real traumatic details, of course.

-Korean Airlines flight safety videos are presented through music videos by kpop idols, lol.

-Perhaps sensing the dysfunctional hell it was about to travel to, the straps and zipper on my husband's duffel bag spontaneously ripped on our first layover, so he had to buy a replacement. But we were in LA with only hoity toity luggage stores around, and the cost of a carry on case of the same size was insane! The next best thing we could do was a tiny book bag that cost $85. It's the perfect size for our daughter, lol.

-My father, to his literally dying days, remains an utter snob and asshole. The way he treated my mom, my mom's helper, my mom's helper's children, me, and various relatives reminded me that his condition doesn't excuse or erase everything else he's done. There's no last minute character redemption from him in his old age. He still tried to manipulate me (and partially succeeded, if I'm being honest). I didn't want to go on this trip. I had a meltdown at LAX before boarding, actually. But at least the whole thing reconfirmed my perspective of him.

-My aunt and mom tried to say that they're not chismosas because they only discuss family drama with other family. But my grandparents were productive as hell y'all, and I think "other family" constitutes 25% of the city's population. For example, on various outings we'd get lost and we'd stop to ask directions from pedestrians. Twice we ended up discovering the person giving us directions was related to us in some way. They learned that the beach venue my mom booked for a family reunion was owned by a relative of my paternal grandmother. Can't throw a rock without hitting kin there. I'm sure if my parents hadn't emigrated, I'd have accidentally dated a cousin or something.

-Ironically, we went to a wedding and during the vows my cousin was like, "Wait...I don't recognize anyone here." We had arrived late, after all (Filipino time), so there was a good chance we were watching strangers tie the knot. She had to sneak around the pews until she found the mother of the bride and confirmed we weren't crashing.

-My husband's never been the minority before, so when we'd go out and people would unsubtly stare or talk about him, he said, "Huh. So that's what that feels like." While I was of course happy to have him and my daughter with me, I did sort of regret that I was unable to enjoy the ability to blend in when I was out and about with them.

-I tried to warn my family what the heat is like the second you step out of the airport (like walking into a wall of hot wet cotton). Even then, the moment we were outside, my kid went, "You weren't kidding!"

-It was harder to find the vibrant, colorful jeepneys this time around, because they're unfortunately being phased out. Just another reason for me to detest this government.

-Fiesta was fun, but the speakers and lights of the amateur talent performances stage caused a blackout for our entire block. Apparently this happens every year. C'mon man. They need to be more cautious considering how much folks need their fans and AC units. At one point, the weather forecast said "84*F, record low." TF you mean, record low?

-My daughter made two "BFFs" while there. One was my mom's helper's daughter, a sweet little 5 year old whose fam conveniently lives in the basement apartment of our house (and seeing her in the upper levels playing with his granddaughter really bugged my snob father, which was a plus). The other was my favorite cousin's daughter, on my mother's side.

-We didn't see much of my father's relatives, which I was fine with. A lot of them think we should let bygones be bygones and pretend that my dad never did all the terrible things he's done. But there was one cousin on my father's side, R, with whom I often fought when we were younger. R's mom brought R's daughter over one day, and she and my kid did NOT get along. The asshole gene is a dominant one.

-It's pretty well known that I have a bad temper, which I've struggled to control for all my life. After spending so many consecutive days with my parents, my husband said it's surprising that I didn't turn out to be an angrier person, HA! My father is my father, and my mom is...not maternal, to say the least.

-The family house is in pretty poor condition, which I expected because my dad had been spending the upkeep/repair money my mom sent him on other things, and that was really hard for my germaphobic anxiety. But we couldn't stay at an airbnb or hotel because my mom tried really hard to spruce it up for our visit. My sister and I dramatically assigned meaning to how their extravagant house, which they insisted being built American-style, ultimately crumbled and failed in their home country. (English lit majors, y'all. We're insufferable.)

-Gosh, I do NOT know what to do with those super helpful, hovering sales associates in most stores. I much preferred the ones who peaced out when they heard us speak English because they didn't want to risk a nosebleed (a common joke among Filipinos, even though your average Filipino's knowledge of English is SO MUCH MORE impressive than any foreigner's knowledge of Tagalog, due to schooling and western media saturation).

-Folks just...call on each other without warning? Even though we all have the means now to ask if a visit would be okay ahead of time? And, whether anyone was home or not, we (or the helper) were obligated to give these unannounced guests merienda? As if this was Regency England or something? I did not like that. I did not like that at all. Fiesta day was the worst day, with dozens of relatives in & out and talking all at once. But at least my mom bought me a whole sans rival that day, so that was nice, even if my cousins ended up eating half of it.

-Joshua & Warlen of Tayabas City make the best pastillas. They're the perfect crumbly texture. And the perfect size to hold between my fingers like a cigarette. I need a lifetime supply.

-While getting around the city, I was worried about the lack of booster seat or safety buckles for my kid before I was reminded that the cars, tricycles, and jeepneys weave so slowly around each other that the risk of a major accident is pretty low.

-Spending so much time with my daughter convinced my sister and her husband that they don't want to have children, which is doing everyone a favor really. Good job kid.

-Everywhere you look, there is a mango, tamarind, coconut, etc tree. The novelty never wore off for my mom, who opportunistically asked any resort worker in sight if they'd give some to her; her bounty would eventually ripen and rot in our kitchen. The remnants of growing up food insecure, I guess.

-It was weird that we (me and my cousins) are the grownups now. And that they still continue the unhealthy tradition of warning the kids who played in the sun that they would get darker. I had to say multiple times, "It's okay. We're brown and it's okay." And it was another thing making sure to gently stop a relative when they inappropriately commented on any of our bodies ("you got bigger"...you mean after aging out of my teens and having a baby, I got bigger? No shit Sherlock). The unhealthy Filipino standards of beauty cycle stops here, y'all.

-My uncle's farm remains the worst smelling place on earth. Yes this is a very urban opinion.

-The spiders are still plate sized. How dare they not evolve into something smaller.

-Because my sister and I were sorta in charge this time, we opted to go to the touristy places one often sees in travel ads, instead of sticking to our hometown. Batangas was beautiful! There were monkeys on the roof of our cabin! And a hidden cove! I've never seen so many stars! I even saw a shooting one!

-Villa Escudero was enjoyable, not just for the waterfall restaurant, but also for the cultural show. My kid, when faced with the choice of swimming or watching the history of the Phils illustrated through singing, music, and dances, surprisingly chose the latter.

-The most important thing was my kid making fond memories of the Phils. Her western upbringing means that she'll get a good impression of the American-European half of her heritage without any effort from us. Now, instead of a random bunch of islands on a map, she'll think of the Philippines as the place with her best friends, daily pandesal breakfasts, fun tricycle rides, endless neighborhood chickens, etc, etc. That makes it worth it, I guess, even if the horrors of this trip ended up making my hair fall out later, lol.

After finishing dailies, since the internet or whatever was still cooperating, I ran Animira through a bit more of the story(she’s up to KotET ch 5 now) and I gotta say, while on my first time through I really liked how cool they made Torian and Vette, I have very mixed feelings about it now. :|

On the one hand, it’s cool they get more content. On the other, BioWare’s just making sure everyone thinks they’re cool before making you pick which one gets to survive a few chapters later. Now, this is at least better than DA:I, when you had to pick between Hawke and Alistair/Stroud/Loghain bc at least they made sure everyone was emotionally invested in the characters involved, whether or not you’ve played a Hunter/Warrior. BUT it really feels like they only want you invested so it hurts more when one of them dies no matter what you do, which seems kinda :| to me. I like it when games make me care about the characters. It’s great. But this case, to me, feels like they’re just trying to cause more Emotional Pain. Stop trying to recreate Virmire BW, it’s not going to happen.
