Damn I actually really really love being a creative and administrative mentor

#one of my employees #who is older than me and has worked here far longer #asked for my advice on developing a programming proposal for another historic site she’s involved with #and I’m filling out the final evaluation for my intern’s masters program advisor #so I’m going back through all of her weekly progress reports and thinking back on the one on one work we’ve done #and it’s incredibly satisfying to see the growth of both confidence and skills since she started in May #like I am so proud of her #and I am so proud of ME #because this is another human that I have had a positive impact on #that was the most gratifying aspect of when I was teaching #I don’t miss teaching but this kind of advisory relationship without the pressure of having to be responsible for an entire group #it’s really wonderful and I think it’s something I’m really good at #and part of that is undoubtedly from the mentorship I have received within my own department #this is another day where I really love my job and I really need to find a financially sustainable option to stay here #museum musings

Getting looser with lineart and better at colour schemes and simplifying shading. Is good actually.#It's so much easier to eyeball what a colour would look like in a setting instead of colourpicking the OG palette and struggling with...#...like 9 overlay and multiply and soft/hard light layers #Approximating colour genuinely looks better than forcing local colour into the piece. As long as the values are still there it works out #comic

tidbids; Twilight had some leftover heritage batpony genes, which became present after becoming an alicorn, she also got a lot taller (before she was about dash's height), rainbow power and holding the princess' magic gave her the yellow streaks and glowy ends Rarity is part crystal pony, so she has a crystal horn- allowing for very precise magic. Fluttershy has lingering traits of her time as a vampire bat AJ has several scars from working on the farm Rainbow has some stunt-injuries, and one lightning-strike scar. Her rainbow colours are super rare, so she likes to show them off. Pinkie is a miniature pony, dinky little thing. 90% of her jewellery is edible.
