First Post: Going back in time to Delphi in Ancient Greece ~

Hello everyone! My name is Esme E. Grace and I have decided that I want to start a study blog/studyblr in other words to keep me motivated with my schooling. I will try to post here as much as I can but nothing is guaranteed. During these hard times of a global pandemic, I need something to distract myself from my very uncertain and sometimes scary future and so I chose to start a studyblr! Hope you enjoy!

We are reading Oedipus Rex in English Class and I am a HUGE fan of Ancient Greece (and other ancient civilizations!) which makes me super excited for this unit! My teacher assigned us a BBC documentary about Delphi as the Oracle of Delphi plays a pretty important part in the play Oedipus Rex by Sophocles. As for the future, I want to go into Classical Studies and later on do my P.h.D and become either a historian, a museum curator or maybe even an archaeologist!

I have to tell you something that I don't want to - Vi devo dire una cosa che non vorrei

🇬🇧 Good day everyone, I'm writing this to warn you that in the coming months I could drastically slow down the site and social media pages. I'm not having a good time and among other things I can't concentrate and read.

I don't like making announcements and "press releases" because I'm not a celebrity or with fans eagerly waiting for some news, but it seemed right to me for those who follow me. I don't know how much longer this will go on but I hope I won't lose you in this difficult time. When I'll be able to start reading again I'll publish the reviews but I can't tell you when. Maybe tomorrow I'll start a very light booklet that I'll read quickly and have something to talk to you about, maybe it will take two months. In the meantime, I'll do what I can, what I can.

Forgive me, however, life with all its problems as you too know comes first.

Before deleting all of this forever, the fruit of so much work, I will wait because I realize (I hope) it will be a temporary situation. It will certainly bring about some changes, but I can't foresee them now. I'll keep you up-to-date.

I still have so much to discover about Alexander the Great and Hellenism and I plan to do it with you as soon as I can, because this passion is there and always will be. Just for now I have to put it aside.

For the simplest articles I'll try to do everything possible so that you don't feel too much difference compared to before, but at least you know that it hasn't been abandoned but just a little slowed down because the last thing I want with Alessandro III di Macedonia is to close it and I hope I never have to make that decision.

🇮🇹 Buondì a tutti, scrivo questo post per avvisarvi che nei prossimi mesi potrei dare un rallentamento drastico al sito e alle pagine social. Non sto passando un bel periodo e tra le altre cose non riesco a concentrarmi e a leggere.

Non mi piace fare gli annunci e i "comunicati" perché non sono una celebrity o con i fan che aspettano ardentemente qualche notizia però mi sembrava giusto per chi mi segue. Non so per quanto andrà avanti ancora ma spero di non perdervi in questo momento difficile. Quando riuscirò a riprendere a leggere pubblicherò le recensioni però non so dirvi quando. Magari domani inizierò un libretto molto leggero che leggerò velocemente e avrò qualcosa di cui parlarvi, magari ci vorranno due mesi. Nel frattempo farò quel che potrò, quello che riuscirò.

Perdonatemi però la vita con tutti i suoi problemi come sapete anche voi viene per prima.

Prima di cancellare per sempre tutto ciò, il frutto di tanto mio lavoro, aspetterò perché conto (spero) sarà una situazione temporanea. Sicuramente porterà dei cambiamenti che però non so prevedere ora. Vi terrò aggiornati.

Ho ancora tanto da scoprire su Alessandro e l'Ellenismo e conto di farlo insieme a voi, appena potrò, perché questa passione c'è e ci sarà sempre. Solo per ora devo metterla da parte.

Per gli articoli più semplici cercherò di fare il possibile affinché non sentiate troppa differenza rispetto a prima però almeno siete al corrente che non stato abbandonato ma solo un pochino rallentato perché l'ultima cosa che vorrei con Alessandro III di Macedonia è chiuderlo e spero di non dover mai prendere quella decisione.

Her magnificent appearance is described at the end of the novel Golden Ass, when the goddess appears before him in response to his fervent and tearful prayer. In the last, 11th chapter of the novel, the reader is present at several ceremonies in her honor. On this fresco of the 1st century AD from Herculaneum (near Pompeii), the priests of Isis in white robes perform a water ritual, while the worshipers singing hymns of the cult line up on the steps of the temple of the goddess.
