Hello! How are you? I'm not too bad. Lol. Hope your day/afternoon/evening has been the bees knees and just keeps getting better! If it has been a little, well, craptastic, know that I am sending you hugs and the hope that it gets better....((HUGS))

Finally got the next to the last part of the Cary started! After this, I have to sew it together and do the finish work. But, I am sooooo looking forwards to getting it finished. Sadly, though, I am playing yarn chicken with this stripe, so I may not get very far today. But, I have told the nameless one to stop and grab me the required color to finish the sleeve.

In a very good turn of events, I was able to camp out in my easy chair yesterday with a playlist of ancient peoples docs. The hooligans weren't happy, but they got over it. However, today, Mom has been relegated to the desk, so it looks like Ancient Cities and gaming while I knit, while they indulge in PBS Kids.

Why does pretty much every game except the one that takes place in Cyrodiil lean into Ancient Roman aesthetics for Cyrodiil and the Empire? Why are the only Roman aesthetics in Oblivion shit built by the Ayleids? Why is the one game where I could've been in fantasy Rome generic fantasy Europe??? Where is my fantasy Rome DAMMIT!!!!!

This is the only thing I picked up from the Retro Expo but I am so pleased with it. I have been super into the King’s Field games - for anyone who doesn’t know they are the first games FromSoftware ever produced and was a direct inspiration to Demon Souls/Dark Souls. They play like first person fantasy rpg puzzle games. They are even explained as a metroidvania like because of it’s nature of difficulty and back tracking. They are slow, clunky, difficult as hell and I adore them.

This is the second KF game I own now 👑 ⚔️

What is up, All! How are y'all doing today? I'm doing great! Also a little sparky today! Hope you are doing well. I also hope that your day/afternoon/nite has been impeccable and just keeps going! However, as I know not every day can be sunshine and roses, if your day has been a series of disasterous occurances, know that it gets better and that I am sending you a hug...(((HUG)))

The sweater formerly known as the Reed has the focus in the shop today. The goal for today is to get it to the 16 inch mark, so I can take of for the under arms. I'm super stoked at the way it is working up. It'll be so pretty when it's finished. I am stoked for y'all to see it in the Sneak Peak!

In other news, I spent to long at the desk this weekend, playing Ancient Cities and knitting on Sis's blanket, now my ankle is the size of a softball. Looks like it's coffee, documentaries, and the easy chair with my foot up for me today. Normal Monday, though. Even with all of that, I still got a good amount done on her blanket. It's almost to the next color change, although now I am playing yarn chicken with the skein and the last eight rows of this block. Yikes!

Hello, I have two questions for you: first, may I borrow your idea that the Undercity is a crashed Netherese city for a fic, and second, how would you like the idea credited if it's okay to use?

Sure, and I have no preferences. Probably an unhelpful answer, sorry.

Although if you plan on using the nation/city I mentioned in that headcanon it's worth noting that I need to correct something I got slightly wrong: Rdiuz is the state the city would've belonged to, so the Undercity itself would not have been called Rdiuz.

I don't know how many Enclaves (as the flying cities are called) there are, though there were probably at least seven seeing as in order to become an archmage in Netheril you had to have created a mythallar and an Enclave, and Rdiuz had seven Crown-Sorcerers. Meigg is the only named one.

Happy to be able to share new artwork for Epochs: Course of Cultures! This is the city of Chang'an the capital of the Tang Dynasty, where the herald of the Emperor speaks to the citizens of the city.

I think this is the first time I painted a cityscape in such a composition, a big step out of the comfortzone.

Loose Singles

A reminder that I have a newsletter that works like a blog, sort of, with landscape pictures and book recommendations. This one is about the joy of discovery.

I dug into my archives to find an image from my old dot-us portfolio website for this! Anyway, a snippet.

It was the same station I'd first heard Pink Floyd on, though I didn't know who they were at the time. I had records and tapes but my knowledge was around The Well-Tempered Synthesizer or The Police, records with safe-looking covers and a lot of electronic sounds that were a logical progression from loving harpsichord. I have never been good at catching the who and what is playing off the radio. So, I'd lie there healing, listening to guitars, and there was a song that would come on regularly I loved. But I never caught who it was, in my post-op fog. One day, several years later, I was playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, enjoying the stations and silly DJs of the game as I tooled around, ramping cars, and the song came on.
