okay well. it's deeply embarrassing actually, but when my friend introduced me to the anastasia musical at first I was like "this is stupid where's zombie rasputin?" but I already had a stupid obsession with the russian revolution and then I fell in love with the idea of grimdark anastasia but what if it were gay and grimmer and darker and peterick?

anyway the half written fic that will (likely) never see the light of day is Pete's a con artist and Patrick's a prostitute and Pete talks him into pretending to be the lost tsarevich to split the reward money from the dowager empress (sidebar - I never liked them convincing anastasia she had amnesia, I think it's cooler if she's in on the con). From there it plays out very similar to the cartoon (sans rasputin, sorry) but you know. Shenanigans ensue. They escape Russia but barely. They realize they're falling in love. Pete realizes this guy might actually be the lost prince. HEA. The usual.
