Here is the sneak peak to what you have to look forward to once I hit 2K followers! Before we get into the goodies I want to take a second to thank each of you so much for bringing this blog to life and reading and interacting with my stories! I started this blog because I decided to throw on a race last May… Who knew watching Lando winning his first race would change the entire direction of my life. I have never been chill about my love for F1 and while it has been under a year of me being a fan I have grown up around motorsports my whole life. BG3 Drow Lore 🕷️ Minthara's alurlssrin

Alurlssrin is a drow term Minthara uses to describe the bond she shares with Tav - but what does it precisely mean?

🕷️ Alurlssrin In BG3 - alurlssrin appears in some specific Minthara’s lines, when the player character romances her. According to Narrator, it is …a word used rarely, describing the deepest bonds of trust and love.

When asked about it, Minthara says simply that alurlssrin means “love” and confesses that she never really expected to use it. In another line, she seems to be convinced that alurlssrin is the kind of bond that can be life-lasting.

When Tav tries to reciprocate, saying: I alurlssrin you too, Minthara – with a hint of amusement – explains that alurlssrin is a noun.

The alurl- part may suggest that this word means “the best” kind of an emotional bond, or something close to it (alurl – “best, foremost” in Drowic).

🕷️ Alurlssrin And Ssinssrigg - in R. A. Salvatore’s The Legacy, it is stated that …there is no word in the drow language for love. The closest word (...) is ssinssrigg, but that is a term better equated with physical lust or selfish greed.

Ssinssrigg is another term that appears in one of Minthara’s lines, when the player character romances her, but does not have her high approval. She says then: What we share is no more than ssinssrigg, a passion that burns fierce, but has no foundation.

But... since according to drow lore, there is no word for “true” love in Drowic – and the closest term is ssinssrigg - where did alurlssrin come from?

🕷️ Drow Words For Love - alurlssrin was first mentioned by Ed Greenwood in his post (TheEdVerse, Twitter, Jan. 2023) about Eilistraee and drow words for love:

Eilistraee knows all the drow words for love, and the elvish ones, too. The Drow words are: alurlssrin = unselfish, deep love, raggath = act of love (lovemaking), lurraggath = act of love (sacrificial or noble deed), ssinssrigg = passion, lust, greed, longing, love.

(Among elvish words for love, apparently also known to Eilistraee, there is nor = love, essence of passion. It also appears in one of Minthara's lines, when she calls her lover ust-nor - thank you to @vspin for messaging me about this!)

It seems, then, that alurlssrin is a drow word that is known to Eilistraee and most likely to her followers...

...but Lolth-sworn drow – or at least Menzoberranyr drow – do not know / use it. 🤔 So how is it possible that Minthara, a (former) paladin of Lolth from Menzoberranzan, is familiar with it?

🕷️ Alurlssrin In Minthara's Vocabulary

I have a feeling that alurlssrin appears in Minthara’s lines simply because a drow word for deep, true love was needed for the dialogue. Still, I tried to come up with some more lore-adequate explanations:

🕷️ Some Very Old Word – perhaps in Menzoberranzan, alurlssrin is a half-forgotten archaism that is no longer regularly used, but an educated (or bookwormish) drow can still stumble across it in centuries-old books and figure out its meaning.

🕷️ Language Of Heretics – as a paladin of Lolth, it is possible that Minthara came to contact with Eilistraeans – or with their culture – at some point. She might be even trained to recognize this particular kind of “heresy”, learning symbols and words popularly used among the followers of Eilistraee... alurlssrin included.

🕷️ Not So Unknown Anymore – language tends to change over time, and between the quote from The Legacy and the events of Baldur’s Gate 3, there is a gap of over 130 years. Maybe during this time, alurlssrin term became less unknown in Menzoberranzan? Although considering its connection to Eilistraee and her cult, this may be the least likely explanation.

Regardless of everything, the fact that Minthara calls the bond between her and Tav alurlssrin is certainly meaningful. Typically, many drow like her might not be exactly (or at all) familiar with a sheer concept of deep, unselfish, lasting love...

AITA for bitching about fics I dislike on my blog?

as a foreword, this is kind of a non-issue and no one's ever told me to stop, but I'm curious what other people think of fandom etiquette.

the fandom: a fairly small one. 2.4k fics on ao3 small. I recognize most people posting in its tumblr tag small. if I tell you the name of the source you'd almost definitely be able to find me small.

the source: pornographic, which means everyone involved is or should be an adult. it's BL with a switch MC, but the fandom overwhelmingly prefers bottom MC/top LIs (love interests), to the point where I've had people be astonishingly rude to me because my favorite character is a bottom LI and some of my friends have been outright harassed for the same. I used to not care about sex positions in the slightest, but now when I see bottom MC fanworks I can't help but remember how poorly I was treated.

the fics: wildly and inexplicably popular, even though they are, frankly, poorly written. it's eternal bottom MC turned up to 11, complete with copious amounts of OOCness in order to turn every ship into the worst ye olde yaoi gender roles dynamic you can imagine. it's things like MC, canonically a 23yo plank of a dudeguy, being written as a big titted milf in his 40s (which is made more confusing by the fact that one of the LIs is already a big titted milf). it's also things like the MC being written as disliking sex and having to be coerced into it when one of the most charming things about him is that he's a hilarious sex pest, or writing the LIs sexually harassing the MC when they really would never do that. I've likened it to replacing the characters with OCs that share the same name and my friends have agreed with me. I'm honestly convinced that the author and his readers don't actually like any of the characters if they feel the need to change everyone so thoroughly.

why I might be an asshole: it's assholish to hate on free fanworks, and I've bitched about these fics on my public tumblr blog. the fandom is small enough that there's a non-zero chance of it getting back to the author and a reasonable chance that fans of the fics have seen my bitching. I'm probably projecting the hostility I've received onto someone who's done absolutely nothing to me, and I am absolutely just straight up jealous that their fics get better stats than mine. I may also be being an asshole to myself, because being critical of other people's fics has made my hypercritical of my own.

why I don't think I'm an asshole: I think everyone has the right to be bad at things, but I also think everyone has the right to be a little hater. I don't put the fandom tag on these posts; they stay on my blog and my blog alone, and if later on I feel like I was unfairly vitriolic I'll delete the posts. I only post on tumblr because I'm certain the author in question only uses twitter, which dramatically lowers the odds of him stumbling across my posts. the fics are so popular that it's definitely possible that their fans would see my posts, but I think it's unlikely that they'd bother looking at my blog because 99% of my posts are about one of the bottom LIs. I have never and would never leave comments on the fics themselves, and I generally try to keep the bitchy posts to a minimum; it's far from a constant thing.

tl;dr - I publicly bitch about fics that (in my opinion) are poorly written and extremely OOC, under the assumption that it's unlikely the author would ever see it. AITA?

this fandom has become unbearable. i mostly avoid it (blocking and muting people), but the occasional post comes on my tl that just annoys me. my rant honestly mostly applies to smoshtwt, but smoshblr is annoying too. i won’t even mention the reddit.

people pick fights for literally no reason, and act like they are above one another for everything. for one, the ship war discussion is so stupid to me because most of you are too old to be speaking about real people in this way. why does it matter to you who somebody else ships when you’re doing the same thing with a different ship??

i also understand the interest for the bonds the people in the cast have, but none of you know them! a lot of you put such a pedestal to the relationships you’re seeing on your phone screens. it is also not fair to assume “this person doesn’t like this person,” or assume “this person is in love with that person” or whatever. many of you feel way too comfortable talking about them in ways you know you wouldn’t say to their face, whether “positive” or negative. thirsting, criticism, speculation/assumption, it’s all annoying. and many of you shield them as jokes. too many of you wonder why a majority of the cast hardly touch their socials anymore outside of instagram. or wonder why damien blocked like half of you on twitter

and speaking of damien... lmfao. look it’s fine to dislike a person but many of you are irrational about it. he’s a human, just as every person in the cast are. it doesn’t matter that hes a grown man, he deserves respect the same way anybody else does. dude has gone through a lot in life, the least you all can do is just let him exist. because while his fans arguably can coddle him, but they’re no different from the rest of you. you’re literally all the same and don’t see it! because i know damn well if more people commonly treated angela or shayne the way a lot of you treat damien, you’d be just as upset as his fans tend to be. also, same thing for courtney! many of you are so weird about them on here recently too?? i cannot believe how heavy discussions have been regarding them, especially in relation to damien. too many of you have been blatantly disrespecting them recently. just as i said before, they are a human being first and foremost. you are allowed to think whatever about these people, but goodness i beg you all to keep it to yourselves. i can only imagine the absurd speculation-heavy discussions they all may accidentally stumble across at some point.

i don’t want to ramble too much but i honestly don’t know how it got this bad. people will argue with the “have you never been in a fandom before” over and over again whenever someone complains about this one. i can assure you, smosh’s fandom is simply just bad. at least compared to more similar groups like dropout, try guys, etc.. idk what happened here. like to be fair, this has always been a parasocial fandom, but it definitely got worse the last few years. i’ve been on tumblr and twitter for a long time, i can safely say i miss the lowkey dead fandom era. post-2023, a lot of you made it more of a hell than it’s ever been, but act like you’re not the problem, or simply don’t care idfk. i just know that if you had a problem with any of what i said, it probably applies to you.

tldr: you are SMOSH fans. you’re ALL gay and annoying! just accept that, stop being the worst about literally everything and everyone, and please be decent human beings.

In need of a distraction you started cleaning your apartment, scrubbing off any scuffs and dirt that accumulated from your past. It was something you wished you could do in your personal life, just scrub out all of the bad shit and only move forward.

Seokmin forced Minghao to let you sit in between the middle of them after noticing you searching around the room for the best place to sit.

Seokmin queued up the movie, watching the title sequence splash across the screen as you watched Minghao experience the blue toned film for the first time, catching glimpses at him at all of your favorite parts.

After the movie ended Seokmin was sleeping up against your side, cutely snoring. You tried to subtly remove yourself from him without scaring the daylights out of the by, you woke him up, Minghao was already up and next to your side helping you move the sleeping puppy into your bedroom, so he could get a good nights sleep.

"I should, get going."

"Oh no, stay here. You can either stay on the couch or you can take Minnie's room, I changed the sheets already."

Hey, I was the second anon and I've calmed down since then lol. I agree with what you said about previous rpf fandoms being absolutely traumatizing as I watched in real time these people stop talking to and about each other because of how toxic it got. But I guess we can't hide lestappen from the drivers completely; not when the rbr account uses the ship name as often as it does.

What we can do though, as @slythereen and @tsarinablogs said, is control the extent of what they see (unless they decide to go seriously digging. Charles I'm looking at you. Put the phone AWAY) .

It baffles me; not only how nonchalant the newer fandom people are at posting rpf where the said 'couple' can easily come across it, but also attaching their names and faces to the said rpf fandom. Back in my day (goddamn I sound like my nana) we kept that shit to ourselves. Spreading awareness about fandom etiquette could help. But also, it's Twitter. So there's that.

I mean like sure. If they really go digging they will find tumblr and ao3 as much as the rest of us have found it but I guess what @slythereen and what @tsarinablogs were getting at and what I second is that we should all be making it absolutely impossible for them to stumble across it.

They're personal websites (kinda like livejournal it seems). I have not found a way to search for anything on them. Literally just started going down a rabbit hole of links and then going through the websites chronologically for MaStar. The galleries are abandoned to my knowledge (google translate is spotty)

I stumbled across them trying to reverse image search the fanart people yoinked for their ffn fic covers. No luck unfortunately, but it did lead me to these three galleries.

This artist (はらへり もぐお - BramaStema Graffiti Book) posted primarily MaStar, but you'll also find SoMa, SoTsu, and Black Star x Crona which keeps getting translated to Black Clover. Their gallery is 29 pages of stuff. I finally found they moved to pixiv and twitter. I'm waiting to hear back from them abt sharing old work rn. The graffiti book does have some stuff that isn't on their pixiv.

Doumoooo ran a multifandom/personal blog. Their soul eater stuff also includes SoMa, CroMa, Harvar x Maka, Gopher x Maka, KiMa, and a bunch of fan comics I can't read. Their gallery is 134 pages of stuff.

Ree is a multifandom artist as well. There's some SoMa hiding in there. Each post is an art dump, so I encourage you to go post by post.

I have not found a way to search for posts on any of the sites (part of why I ear marked them here). Findability is MaStar's greatest weakness.

I keep reverse image searching trying to find where the other artists moved to or if they cross posted anywhere. The combination of age of the art and language barrier makes it incredibly difficult. I desperately would like to contact the others (loneliness is a sentiment among mastar shippers, I want them to receive their roses so to speak).

I highly encourage browsing the other works on their site (maybe it has a view counter, one could only hope). The links provided here will start you at the beginning of each gallery.

Quackity scrolled on his phone, staring as the clip circled around Twitter, tagging Quackity in every post, making his laugh at some of the captions and edits, even if it was only one clip, of course, they didn't know your name or anything about you but they did get creative with it.

The one that made him and you laugh the most was the 'and they were roommates' meme that was circling the internet. He looked up from his phone with a chuckle, showing you his phone from across the couch.

"Look at this." He laughed, playing the short edit which made them both laugh happily.

"Omg, damn, guess I'll be a hot topic for a while." You laugh, running hand through your hair causing Quackity to bite his lip as a faint blush dusts his cheeks.

"Yeah, don't get a big head about it." Quackity rolls his eyes with a smile. "Besides, by time of my next stream you'll be old news."

Some wild speculation that is most probably wrong!

Although the shadow ‘demon?’ in Neve’s story, streets of Minrathous initially brings to mind figures from lore similar to The Formless One or Shah Wyrd, as @Andarateiea on twitter has spotted, there is a very similar silhouette shared between the figure standing before the golden city on the Vinyl cover art, and the shadow entity visible in Neve’s tarot art. In this post I explore the possible similarities between this figure and the Magisters Sidereal. I'll add a break because this will be a long post.

There is potentially also a figure with a similar staff in the DAI collected mosaics. I'm not sure if this is deliberate, but I will include it:

On the Vinyl image, standing before the still golden city, the depicted figure appears more humanoid and proportionate in comparison to its appearance in Neve's tarot card. In current day, if it is the same figure, their appearance has been dramatically twisted in the time since the city went dark. This immediately brings to mind the warped appearances of both of the magisters we have seen so far (Corypheus and The Architect). So, are there any other similarities worth noting? I have written out some of the parallels and connections that struck me upon reading this post (time for wild conspiracies!).

Aside from the earthquakes and blood magic leading up to the unsealing of this being, similar to the lead-up to Corypheus’ release, and the remnant architecture (described as depicting dragons and typical to Minrathous) there is one similarity I have noted in the past between The Architect and the entity Malvernis/Amgeforn the Foul that reoccurs to me here. Both use a strange kind of shadow/blight magic that consumes others, and reduces them to black goo:

The 'demon' below Minrathous: ‘I saw a steel-haired Venatori stumble near the writhing darkness. Before he could straighten back up, the shadow was wrapped around his wrists. The cultist jerked to his knees. His body convulsed. Silence fell suddenly on both sides, broken by the screams of the old man as he sunk from view.’

The Architect: ‘…the Architect… had cast the spell. Genevieve clutched at a pool of shadow that spread across her torso. It grew, and appeared to be eating her... It washed over her arms and her legs, and then finally swallowed her head. Her screaming ended abruptly. The shadow-covered body flailed about twice more, and then the blackness simply collapsed, leaving nothing more than a pool of liquid on the floor.’

Malvernis: (who, coincidentally, takes the form of a dragon in his boss battle in DA2 legacy): ‘We called it Malvernis. The Pestilential One. It devoured Thaigs, turning our fairest work into a noxious waste. It consumed living warriors, turning their bodies into slime, and when its hunger was not abated, it consumed the bones of our ancestors’

Corypheus notes in his memories: ‘They spit on our deeds and claim we brought darkness into the world. We discovered the darkness. We claimed it as our own, let it permeate our being.’

These accounts are not identical, and are likely unrelated, but I thought it worth noting! Along with the following:

Neve notes when approaching the ritual releasing the shadow: ‘A strange buzzing in my head. It was thick with a feeling I couldn’t understand and an expansive need for emptiness.’ This buzzing and mental strangeness are mentioned several times. It also reminds me of descriptions given by Bregan of a constant humming and buzzing when succumbing to the Calling. An even more tenuous link is just the fact that there is a cult that worships the blight that name themselves 'the empty ones'.

All of this reminds me additionally of the codex entry: A Different Darkspawn.

im gonna share the story of how i found out about dol. very long post. heres the only pic i have of my first pc. so the very first time i heard about dol was from a smut blog i followed and really loved.

in an ask they answered the anon said something thing “hey have u ever heard of degrees of lewdity??? that game seems like it was MADE for you” and they responded saying that they already have been playing it, and included a link the website for anyone who interested. the wording “made for you” really piqued my interest bc that specific blog was quite degenerate and violent so i was like ???? made for you???? made for you ????? im gonna love this and i went and checked out the link

i think this was in december 2023 and when i stumbled across the post it was already quite old, and the version of dol was also quite old i think it was like 4.3.7 or something but i had no idea it about new or old versions cause as i tend to do with any media i get into it go in completely blind. i remember i had a bit of trouble installing too cause im not good with computer stuff but i managed to download it properly and play !! literally nothing could have prepared for what i was about to experience

my first pc man. i still feel so bad for her. i played in normal mode with the encounter rate of 1 and i felt like i was playing on the hardest difficulty because jesus fucking CHRIST!!!!! the THINGS she went through?????? she was a submissive pc so couldn’t fight back and again i mention that i went in completely blind so i was entirely clueless about every aspect of the game 😭🙏 that absolutely did not help her… it took me so long to discover that you could turn off bestiality too. the amount of times she got gangraped by dogs alone ?? absurd. the amount of times she got cummed in by dogs ?? ABSURDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i could on and on but i’ll stop here cause i want to talk about what i thought about the game rather than just mourning my poor first pc. she became a cow in the end, tried to escape, got caught and got beaten and raped, and that was when i decided there was no saving her. rest in peace girl

but what i thought about the game itself was that i was just as disgusted as i was intrigued. and horrified. i never experienced something where you had use your own imagination for most of everything and that was definitely and still is my favorite aspect about dol. despite how much it traumatized me i knew that it was something i’ll like very very muxh. after i decided my first pc was done for i made vintages care save where i promised to take better care of her this time and to not abandon her, and thats exactly what i did. because i realized you could customize the settings and turn off kinks i had a much much more smoother experience and enjoyable time 😭🩷🙏 i was doing whatever i want and just exploring with her save, and with her i realized that for a porn game dol had really really interesting worldbuilding and lore, and so i started to get more into it.

i would play for really long periods of time and then naturally i wanted to take a break and i went on with other things, what made me want to play dol again was a post from another smut blog i followed! they had written a fic for dol and i was like “omg right i love dol!!” so i picked it up again and had fun, but what really made me start playing again for real was in december 2024 when monitoring dropped and a few days after i saw dol fanart in the wild on my twitter tl. i was flabbergasted bc what do you mean theres a dol community ??? these characters and world doesnt just exist in my head only ?? and so i followed more artists and it was ao awe inspiring and kinda surreal bc while i assumed there was a community for dol i never imagined it wouldve found me, it felt like. it also really made me want to draw. i was in an artblock at the time too and just found a new brush to use, so i drew some stuff with vintage care and decided to create a new blog for it

i really didn’t expect canon care to become what she is now all i really wanted was an angel pc to do pure sydneys rite with along with everything temple related. i dint want to create a new pc because i loved care so much so i went back and found her earliest save and did everything differently. while playing and as all the fucked up things happened to her i was like “hey this would make a really interesting character” and the rest is history kinda..
