Say what you will about Martin's writing style (and I've said plenty) but I do think he's got the White Walkers' mythos worked out for a future book and IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO NICE IF THE SHOWRUNNERS HAD DONE 1/100TH OF THAT WORK SETTING THEM UP

Gus: I am mad all over again that there was absolutely zero explanation given as to why/how the Night King operates or how his powers work or why he chose now to attack or ANYTHING ELSE

Gus: on the plus side it means I get to make up a whole subplot that, not to brag, I'm comfortable saying is at least as good as anything D&D could've made up IF THEY HAD EVER EVEN BOTHERED

AU where Tim's family is connected to the Court of Owls rather than Dick's, and Tim decides to go undercover as a member of the Court

(Disclaimer: I know the court of owls storyline happens in the n52 continuity, but for my own sake (as i don't really like tim's whole deal in it lol) this AU is using pre-n52 backstories and characterizations)

In this AU, Janet Drake was a member of the Court of Owls, unbeknownst to Jack and Tim. Bruce eventually finds this out, but chooses to keep it from Tim to protect him. Tim, of course, finds out that Bruce is keeping this from him, and, feeling betrayed both by Bruce and his own mother, decides to infiltrate the Court on his own. The court has been sending him cryptic invitations ever since Bruce announced his initiative to improve Gotham, looking for a way into both the Wayne family and WE. As a member of the Court, Tim is able to gather information to help stop them, but in order to maintain his cover, he is forced into many situations where he is forced to choose between compromising his morals or compromising his position in the Court.

So uh, this might end up unnoticed anyway, but I wanted to let you know that I’ll log off of tumblr for the whole month of August, so I won’t be around.

August also happens to be Halea’s birthday month, so the timing is unfortunate, but I need a breather again.

I have scheduled a Halea fact post once a day as well as her moodboard and hope that tumblr won’t let me down and actually post it all like it’s supposed to.

On the last day of August I’ll be back for the final of Halea’s birthday month, so feel free to ask questions about her.

Generally, you can keep tagging me and sending asks, I’ll gladly get to those once I am back. Just don’t wonder why I don’t answer as fast as I usually would.

i dont know if i ever shared this story but washing my hair and thinking of my dad reminded me of it

when my dad died, he had his hair pretty long and in a ponytail and we asked for his ponytail to be cut so we could save his hair

it might seem weird and it hasnt been done in my family before in my knowledge but we all consented to his hair being cut and it wouldnt have been something he opposed

when his funeral was coming up i was debating cutting my hair the same way, just forming a ponytail and having my cousin cut it but before the funeral when i was messaging my cousin to ask her, i felt a warm tingling pressure on the top of my head

i dont know if i believe in ghosts and never physically interacted with ghosts (i guess you could say ive "felt" them before, like feeling a towering but gentle male presence in my grandmas house that matched with her father's description) but ive never physically seen apparitions or heard voices or felt touches

it felt like my dad was placing his hand on my head and it was so weird and comforting that i decided not to cut my hair and only once that thought crossed my mind and i deleted the message to my cousin was when the sensation stopped

call it a hallucination brought on by grief or a supernatural occurrence but it definitely sticks with me now and id like to believe it really was my dad telling me not to cut my hair for his sake
