while we're on the subject of adaptational chancgs I'm really curious to see if they're going to make any changes to Marius's backstory that will reflect how his own treatment of Armand changed from the books. like his and Armand/Amadeo's relationship was always heavily shaped by ownership and violence in some regard, that's kinda inevitable, but the donations suggest the characterization of a colder Marius in some aspects, one whose love for Amadeo is tempered by vaster demands of aesthetic or appetite. it'd be very interesting to see if they put any changes in his backstory to fuel this, like the implication (highly theoretical) that Lestat experiencing more extreme violence from his family at a younger age during the priest thing may have made him more violent in the show. of course it could be they don't include any significant changes to Marius's background at all, and instead we have the possibility that the changes to his and Armand's relationship were, say, shaped by racial factors or something else entirely.
