ALSO IMPORTANT TO NOTE, people dropping mad mad sums of money on gfms and charities and stuff are extremely impressive but that DOES NOT MEAN that putting like $5 towards someone's fund or any good cause is any less valuable, a lot of crowdfunding is about momentum and those single digits add up super fast, you do not need to be Rolling In The Dough to make someone's day!! moving the dial at all is extremely positive!!

learning abt friendship decay and "not reaching out to your friends for months at a time unprompted is not neurotypical behaviour" has me feeling a certain way
#experiencing some BIG FEELINGS OVER THIS REVELATION#listen i have never ever been bothered abt not seeing someone in a while or making time to talk to them bc in my mind its like not thst muc#time has passed. i mean it with every fibre of my being that when im like 'oh its ok even though we havent talked in a while and have our#own things going on it doesnt mean we're not friends anymore since we left things on a good note 8 months ago' i sincerely believe that#and for the longest time i just thought everybody makes peace with it at some point and not automatically assuming the other person doesnt#wanna talk to me anymore or smth. my longest lasting friendships are with ppl who work the same way i just thouhght that was normal#whatever organ everybody has that makes them reach out to their friends and plan hang outs i probably dont have it#i was already hesitant to ask out Alex bc i spend almost every waking hour doing smth that isnt talking to ppl unless they happen to be in#the vicinity. and at first it was bc i planned on making sure i had everything set up so i dont get stressed out and do it one at a time#but then i find out theres a friendship decay mechanic? and after dating and marrying someone you lose -10 friendship points for every#day u dont talk to them?? actually ive probably been losing friendship points this whole time without knowing bc of this?????#and i notice a lot of my own habits are also reflected in how i play bc ive been avoiding getting close to pierre and marnie since its more#of a professional relationship. like i know theyre npcs but im approaching it the way i would in real life its fucking nuts#i think its a little relieving im playing /as/ a character than myself bc as im playing im just making up little interactions in my head#than approaching things the way i would myself so it takes a bit of the stress off trying to put myself in there as a spectator. but well#being in a relationship demands a certain amount of energy even more so when theyre things that already take up energy on its own#like making time to talk to your partner and make sure they know theyre loved. i dont always have energy to put all my mental focus into it#and this is true for real life so im not really bothered by not dating anyone. but when its a game and i want my character to be with someo#and i know its fully optional and i know i could just apply the same logic to this i dont /want/ to. sometimes i want to experience#the same things other people do at least to a certain degree without the same emotional andmental stakes#no offense krobus#yapping#stardew#stardew valley#puppy plays sdv#sdv#this game has me by the ankles man

fauci saying “vulnerable people will fall by the wayside” and that some will die but that’s ok because we’re not going to see the “tsunami of cases” we’ve seen before is so dehumanising. so babies with no immune system, elderly people, disabled people, and people without adequate access to healthcare can all die of covid. but it’s ok guys because actually they’re just falling to the wayside and everyone else will go back to normal and be fine (sarcasm).
my death or the deaths of my family or friends wouldn’t be us “falling by the wayside”, it would be us being failed by our government, healthcare systems, and communities who have refused to take coronavirus seriously despite mounting anecdotal and scientific evidence of the harm this virus does. fact that people can accept the deaths of vulnerable groups just because they want to eat in a restaurant or don’t want to wear a mask is horrifying

everyone wants disabled people to get a job but no one wants to give disabled people the ability to work a job
#.bdo#no one hired me after about 30 job applications and 4 interviews after a whole year in this job program#back in the day i got every job I applied for immediately#and then when you do work a job they don't make it accessible for you#you get fired just for calling in too many times#even people who are able to go back to work don't#because they'd lose their housing assistance/food stamps/medicaid/utility assistance etc#and if they lost another job it means that they have to reapply for everything#my dr. appointments are $400/mo I get $330/mo food stamps I had $420/mo housing assistance $200/mo utility assistance#so that's $1350 a month in assistance plus my $760 a month = $2110#so if I go back to work I would have the same amount of money or less. I literally can't afford to work. I CAN'T AFFORD TO WORK.#(no longer getting housing or utility assistance now that I'm at my mom's so I'm currently paying more bills than I was)

Not even being dramatic when I say this is the 2nd worst gymnastics scandal after Sydney 2000. The FIG should be ASHAMED of themselves for their handling of this Olympics
#olympics#now everyone has to deal with the fallout that will happen once the ioc officially requests for jordan to give her medal back#i have had a lot of changing opinions about this floor final and this is what i now think#the judges did make a mistake about accepting Jordan's inquiry. but they haven't answered when the 1 minute starts#do they start a timer as soon as the scores are displayed#does the coach have to go to the judging area within the one minute? or does a form have to be filled out and a fee have to be paid?#transparency would be GREAT#they bumped ana's score from 13.7 to 13.766 and nobody has explained where the .066 came from#also sabrina got a 0.1 oob deduction but people have reviewed her routine and she never stepped oob#because her coach didn't inquire about this she doesn't have a chance at the bronze even though it should have gone to her to begin with#just a disaster all around#and also multiple gymnasts have gotten screwed by the judging + the judges haven't been consistently applying deductions#suni went out of bounds on vault at aa finals and didn't get a penalty#heard people talk about gymnasts going overtime at the bb finals without a penalty but simone got a .3 deduction for not saluting#but she actually did salute#one gymnast got a .3 deduction when it should have been a .1 deduction and that took her out of aa finals even though she should be there#no accountability from the FIG who caused this but the athletes are having to suffer from their mistakes#and i doubt anyone is gonna lose their job or be punished by this#and don't get me started on the amount of racism that is also at play with all of this#I'm sooooooo upset and the more developments that come out the more i think FIG should be dismantled#it's nof right to play with people's mental health like this

Hello praying people, I'm not doing well and would really appreciate your prayers right now <3
#long very boring and unnecessarily detailed tag monologue incoming‚ feel free to skip:#this is going to sound like a silly thing to be hitting rock bottom over#but i’m fairly certain i have a semi-rare skin condition known as sensitive skin syndrome#which is basically where skin gets progressively more sensitive#until it won’t tolerate the topical application of anything at all without getting irritated#usually it happens to people on the skin of their face and i have it there but i also specifically have it on my lips#(which apparently is extremely not normal; i found a dermatologist’s case study from like 2019 of one woman who had it on her lips#and according to this case study there were no other cases of people having it on their lips#in all the dermatological literature he had read)#i can’t follow the protocol which all the journal articles i’ve been able to find say is helpful for the rest of the face which is basicall#leave the area the heck alone for at least a year#because if i don’t apply anything to my lips for more than two or three days they will get so dry they crack and bleed#so it’s looking like one way or another i may be having to deal with dry burning irritated lips for the rest of my life#and i’m not dealing with the thought of that very well#i’ve already suffered so much anguish from extreme sensitivity on the rest of my face#and not being able to take proper care of the skin there#and this is just too much for me#i know God is allowing this for a reason but it’s filling me with so much frustration and panic and despair that i don’t know how to go on#but i must and i will#this isn’t a serious or a life-threatening condition but it’s looking like a pretty hopeless one and it’s hurting me badly#and i would appreciate prayers that it would just be healed or that i would know what to do#i think i will try going to my dermatologist but somehow i doubt she's even heard of sensitive skin syndrome#on a COMPLETELY unrelated note i'm just about to get my period and also for two days i've ''eaten'' nothing but vegetable smoothies#and those in pretty small amounts because they're disgusting#(do a detox my hormonal health doctor said)#(it'll be fun she said)#ok if you read this far you're so brave braver than any u.s. marine etc.#thanks for reading ily <3

you know someday i'm gonna feel so good when i have my student loans paid off
that ain't gonna be soon, trust me, but i think about it
#i've been saving so much for it that i paid off over like $2k in the last 2 or 3 months#it's just thinking about how the amount of interest goes off that drives me literally crazy#and my monthly amount i owe is like just under $120#which to some people as a regular bill is more manageable than others. but as i have an irregular income#as a substitute teacher it's something that gives me a LOT of stress.#which is another reason i've been overpaying. in case something happens/i can't get a lot of work#it defers the next due date.#that way it's not urgent but yet i still *feel* it all the time#debt is a crazy kind of thing#and to think that my loans are from COMMUNITY college. two years. publicly owned#when i start taking classes again soon. i currently have enough saved that if i take like ONE class#i can pay out of pocket. and i think im only gonna take one class to start anyway#which will also help with the deferred payments#see i just fucking hate having to think practically about money like this#tales from diana#idk how ppl leave high school and go straight to live in a dorm room at a private university for four straight years#and rack up tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt.#first of all that lifestyle was not accessible for me to begin with. even when paying it was such an abstract put-it-off thought#as it is for so many 18-year-olds who are told not to worry about where they apply.#but i had under $12k to repay when the student loan debt was unfrozen last fall#and it's been weighing on me soooo heavily since then. i think about it every damn day#it's like the money i make isn't even mine. it goes straight to mohela and food#keep in mind i also live w my parents & am on their health insurance so someday there'll be moooore bills!!!!

ok so i haven't done wip wednesdays/weekends in a bit because i wasn't sure how I wanted to do the wip options since i only have one wip i keep going back and editing instead of writing whats next. SO i figured I'll make a little version where you guys make me to put the gists of things down just to have something to work with and stop just editing my old shit

Since all these are kinda serious plot moments I figured I'd share a moment of silliness
Steve stood there for a few seconds, water running and holding a tortoise in someone else’s bathroom.
And to think, this isn't even the weirdest thing to happen in the past few days.
"Back." Dustin announced, running back in with a thermometer he stuck right under the water.
"Why the thermometer?"
"He's ectothermic so he needs a very specific temperature range."
Steve nodded, just going with it.
"You should call him Yortoise."
"Yortoise?"
"Yeah, Yurtle is 'turtle' with a 'Y' so since he's a tortoise… Yortoise."
"He's named after the book though." he said, closing the sink drain and letting water fill the bottom.
"He won't mind, he can't read."
Dustin burst out in a laugh.
"I'll just stick with Yurtle."
"Can I still call him Yortoise?"
"Sure, it'll be your special nickname for him."
"Hell yeah"

#i mention the 2015 version bc that's the one i watched but this applies to my bestie (/neg) kenneth branagh As Well#rip guys one of the most interesting parts of the play but like gatekept behind the fact#that LLL is nobody's favorite play and also people keep whitewashing rosaline#love's labour's lost#mm. the whole 'beauteous as ink' line.. 'much in the letters nothing in the praise'..#as in. rosaline agrees with the physical description of herself that berowne describes but not the overwhelming praise of her beauty#and how katherine like. is supposed to have blonde hair and rosy cheeks as opposed to rosaline#and of course that whole tirade where the guys make fun of rosaline for not being fair haired/fair skinned/etc to get back at berowne#there is a SOLID amount of evidence in the text pointing to rosaline being a black woman. like three or four obvious places#and i'm not surprised greg doran picked that up bc his productions are so detail oriented#and he really mines the text for meaning and relevance and everything.#but like he cant be the only person who picked that up.. or at the very least 'read the play and made this connection'#even if you cut all those lines (and i can understand why bc some of them are very very mean spirited)#wouldn't you at least still want to keep with the spirit of the play and not cast her as white ...?#shakespeare didn't have lots of canonically nonwhite characters in his plays.. rosaline is a lead character and the main love interest..#i'm just surprised at the lack of discussion around this. even if it's not as well known or liked as othello or anything

ripping my hair out. i tried to buy a specific parking permit for campus this year as soon as it was available but no matter how many times i refreshed it said my cart was empty even though. it wasn’t
#AAAAUGH now i have to get a different one and contend with the terrible fucking amount of parking on this campus#they’re so desperate to get people to live off campus they’re giving out huge gift cards for people who apply for off campus housing#unfortunately i’m living on campus with a friend and will only be there a semester so it makes no fucking sense to sign a lease somewhere#GODDD THE PARKING IS AWFUL#alex’s inane ramblings
