“What are you writing, Schatje?” Max asks, sliding onto the piano bench beside you.

“I wrote a song based on my vows,” you tell him, writing down the last couple chords, humming a rhythm to yourself.

Max, ever since I met you, I knew you were special. You’re my fire and my safety, you never try to break me, and you promise to always stay. I promise those same things to you. I don’t want to live without you, I never want to learn how to fall asleep without you, I want to be in love with you forever. You are my forever.

“Play it for me?” he asks when you finish, pressing a kiss to your shoulder. You nod, gently pressing the keys, mentally noting the kinks to fix before recording tomorrow. “It’s beautiful, the fans are going to love it, I love it,” Max compliments and you grin at him.

“I’m excited to announce the album and tour, and I’m glad we follow F1 around Europe. I get to spend more of summer with you that way,” you lean on his shoulder. You dedicated the album to him, and your third record is set to be the best selling one yet.

You took the unconventional route and took his last name after marrying him this year, despite having two hit albums and international fame. You still publish under your maiden name, but the name change caused a lot of shock.

You became an international superstar with your first release and it’s only grown since. Despite your relationship with Max spanning most of your music career, the both of you are able to spend a relatively low profile life in Monaco. Everything you record in the studio down the street is sent to your Hollywood label and released from there.

The next few months see you doing press for the surprise drop that was your bestselling third album and hyping the tour. Tour rehearsals fell during training time for Max and the both of you were going nonstop.

“I have to go to bed, Schatje, love you,” Max yawns over Facetime, you wish him goodnight as you stretch for your last show in North America. Tomorrow you jet to Europe to pick up that leg of the tour.

By the time you reach London, your tour has officially lined up with F1, which means your personal box near the stage is full of drivers, who likely are being bombarded with autograph requests. You slip into your black, sparkly bodysuit and matching hells; hair, makeup, and nails perfectly done; and grab your matching microphone before heading to your mark under the stage. The roar of the crowd energized you as the intro video plays.

“Come on London, let’s have some fun,” you say into the mic before smoke fills the stage above you and the trap door opens, the platform beneath you rising you up. You launch into your opening act. Half an hour later, after prancing and dancing and singing around the stage you take a pause to introduce the next act. The crowd cheers loudly before you have a chance to speak. You look around, smiling at everyone even if you can’t see them.

“London, thank you, my name is Y/n Verstappen, that’s my show for tonight,” you tease, the crowd silences. “Nah, I’m kidding. I wouldn’t leave you hanging like that, not when you are one of the best crowds I’ve had on tour,” you tell them, giving them a second to cheer.

“Since you have been such a great host, I wanted to share something special about this next song, something not many people know, but not quite yet. Quick shoutout to the F1 drivers here tonight, including my handsome husband, y’all are cool. But not as cool as everyone else here,” you purposely leave them hanging a little, blowing a kiss in the direction of Max.

“Alright, so, this next song is not only the title of my new album, but I also took parts of my vows and wrote them into the song. I hope you like it,” you say and the crowd cheers as the first chords play behind you.

“Thank you, London! Goodnight!” After the concert, you rush backstage and into Max’s open arms.

“You were incredible, Liefje” Max kisses you. Charles jokingly gags behind you.

“Thank you, Maxie,” you whisper, hugging him tight. Your assistant hands you a towel to put around your neck and a bottle of water which you happily take.

“You had a great show,” the other drivers tell you, all complimenting the show and thanking you for the tickets. You thank them for attending and excuse yourself so you could change. Max reminds them of the post-show dinner and club plans and carries you to your dressing room. You collapse on the couch, as Max chuckles at your dramatics.

“I swear the best part of a show is laying down after,” you groan and Max gently takes off your heels causing you to moan in relief.

“Y/n! People are going to think we are doing things in here,” Max laughs, you wave him off, changing into comfy but club appropriate clothes. Max helps you take off your stage makeup, and redoes your hair as you put a little bit of normal makeup on.

“Ready, Maxie?” you ask, grabbing your purse. It is nice knowing that assistants will take everything back to the hotel for you.

“I promise I will always come back home to you, I know my driving style is agressive, but I won’t make you learn how to fall asleep without me,” Max says, his hands holding your face gently.

“I know, but I will always be scared when you are on the track. You can’t promise nothing will happen, but I know you will always try,” you tell him, pressing a soft kiss to his lips. You stay in his embrace for a minute until rejoining half of the paddock. I can be in love forever, if I die first…

The music in the club was bumping as Y/N took a sip of their drink. Usually they don’t go out and party but it was one of their best friend and roommate’s, Erin Dougal’s birthday to be exact. The theme of Erin’s party was emo, a look Y/N doesn’t do often but had the perfect all black outfit for that made them look irresistible. An unexpected addition to the outfit was a little victorian choker on their neck. Erin had made several for all her friends to wear as a silly joke, everyone played into it perfectly.

The club was full of people but it was mostly Smosh cast and crew. Which is where Y/N currently was, hanging out with Angela, Chanse, and the birthday girl herself, dancing along to the Doja Cat song playing. While Y/N didn’t work at Smosh, they did know a lot of the cast and crew as they visited Erin a lot and well the two are roommates so it’s just how things fall.

The four are singing along to the song and dancing close together until Erin gently places her hand on Y/N’s shoulder. “Come with me to get another drink!” She yells close to their ear so they can hear over the music. They nod and the two go over to the bar together, as they walk away from the dance floor the music gets softer which makes it easier for them to talk.

“So, how’s your birthday so far, lovely?” Y/N asks, wrapping her arm around Erin’s. “It’s been amazing so far! Thank you so much for coming out, I know this isn’t really your thing but I’m so glad you’re here.” The birthday girl is obviously drunk with how her words and movement is but the sentiment is real.

Their eyes start to look around and take in the atmosphere of the bar. The area where you get your drink and hang out is very fancy and regal which transforms into a very interesting dance floor area that matches everything else but still seems a little weird.

Taking a moment to themself, Y/N takes a deep breath then sips their drink, “Holy fuck! Spencer!” Erin yells excitedly which makes Y/N spit out their drink. ‘Spencer’s here?! Erin said he couldn’t make it!’ They think to themself as their eyes move over to where Erin is…or…well…was. Now the girl is running over and hopping into Spencer’s arms.

After a moment Erin walks back over with Spencer following behind her. “Y/N/N, sorry, didn’t mean to run off but Spencer is here.” Y/N waves, “Hey, Spence. Glad you could make it.” He smiles at them as he walks over, “Yeah, I wouldn’t miss this. Erin always knows how to throw a ranger.” He says before turning to order a drink.

“Oh, Spencer! You need one of these!” Erin pulls out one of the chokers that everyone is wearing. “What is this?” Spencer asks, chuckling as he looks at the item in his hand. “It’s a choker with one of my thirst traps on it. It’s part of the party requirement. Y/N you should help him put it on.” Erin says, winking at them before walking off. 

Erin knew of Y/N’s feelings for Spencer. It was pretty obvious from the first time the two met plus Erin knew that Spence was their type. She’s been trying for a while to get the two of them together but there has never really been a good time for them to just talk and get to know each other until tonight. Erin had planned for this to be the kickstart of their relationship and later tell her plan at their future wedding.

He chuckles and nods his head, the two chit chat as they walk into the dancing area of the club. Y/N shows him the table where Erica, Kiana, and Peter were sitting. Setting their drinks down, the two of them walk onto the dance floor and join the others already there.

Y/N dances with their friends and drinks throughout the night. Unknowingly, they end up dancing against someone. Turning around, they see that the person they’re dancing with is Spencer. Usually, this would freak them out but the drinks throughout the night have given them confidence. They’re not even tipsy, just calm and have some liquid confidence in their system.

They lean into him and he puts his hands on their hips. Putting their hands on his shoulders, they lean up to his ear “You look really hot in that choker.” He looks at them shocked as they continue to dance to the beat. “Are you serious?” He asks and they laugh, “Come on, Spence. How can you not know how hot you are?” They ask, their eyes connecting.

“No one ever really says that. I didn’t know you felt like that.” He says in their ear. “You really can be oblivious sometimes.” They chuckles and looks down at his lips. Looking back up, they raise an eyebrow and he nods. Cupping his face, they pull him down to their lips and it’s like magnets.

Starting slowly, their lips move gently together as he moves his hands to their waist to pull them closer. The kiss quickly turns more passionate as Y/N bites gently onto Spencer’s bottom lip. A groan comes from his throat that makes them even more excited.

Y/N pulls back, smirking as they see Spencer pout a little. “I would love to do this here but I’d rather go somewhere more private.” He smirks, “My place?” he asks and they nod. The two don’t say anything to the group as they quickly walk off the dance floor and to the exit.

The car ride to Spencer’s place is full of tension. His hand is on their thigh squeezing every few moments as they play with his fingers. No words are really said as his car speeds through the streets getting closer to his apartment with each passing moment.

Once the car pulls into the building, Spencer parks and opens the door for Y/N before leading them to his apartment. As the door closes he pins them to the door, his lips attach to theirs. Y/N’s hand finds placement in his hair and runs through his curly hair. They gently pull, earning a moan from Spencer. 

“Mmm, someone likes that.” They mutter against his lips before attaching them again. Spencer places his knee between their legs as he moves his lips down their neck. You weren’t on the survival show that the new girls had to go through, yet still hybe decided to debut you with them. It was weird, for sure. All the trainee friends you made were gone, and you had to face six girls you only saw on television occasionally. Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, Youngseo and iroha.

The girls seemed slightly lost during their first day in hybe building making you chuckle. You were a trainee under hybe for 4 years, so you were familiar and when they entered the practice room worn out from all the walking, you assumed they got lost so you couldn’t help yourself but laugh quietly. The Interaction was awkward, to say the least. All of them except Yunah and Youngseo was introverted so you just went with your fellow extrovert Yunah and had a chat. She turned out to be the oldest of them.

During practice and introduction, you found out that everyone had their charm but the youngest, Iroha had the most outstanding perk which was dance. She was a year younger than you yet her dance was something that you felt like it would years of practice and from a little chat with her about how good she was dancing you found out she was just a kid when she started dancing, not like shes any bigger now but you kept it quiet and nodded. Her accent seemed off which only meant she wasn’t Korean. It was rude of you to ask, so you thought, so you just went on the internet and found out that she was Japanese along with Moka. That would explain her slight stuttering and pauses to gather words that didn’t make sense. You spoke fluent Japanese, so when you started talking to her in Japanese a smile appeared on the girl's face, feeling relieved that she could have one more person other than Moka to talk to in her native language.

At first, you got along with Yunah a lot, both of you guys were extroverts so talking to each other was easy and conversations were flowing, that was until you got arranged with Wonhee, a member you were least close with… even tho Wonhee was 07 like you, you still turned oldest and something about being oldest always made you feel overprotective over anyone so when the hate train that started against Wonhee made you furious, so you always made sure to comment about her doing a good job or something to keep her hyped up. If you saw her looking at comments you would divert her attention. 

People didn’t know about your identity because when the 7th member was announced your face was hidden from the teaser or blurred so people were expecting a lot so it gave you more comfort and if it came to transporting your face was covered. Some rumors were that illits 7th member was hybes ‘secret weapon’ which was more than true. You were somewhat  ‘spoiled’ by HYBE which just meant extra attention and pressure to perfection was always on you. You were confident with singing and rapping, almost coming off as cocky. The dancing was not something you yet felt comfortable with. A lot of trainees came to you for help with an expectation so of course, you helped them out. You were just 13 when you started training so the pressure was hard. A lot of expectations felt overwhelming so you could say, you grew up faster and matured so having the role of ‘helper’ and ‘mother’ was not new to you. You wanted to be the type of person you begged god for each night when you first started training.

Out of thin air, one of the new girls, Youngseo's departure from the debut line was publicly released. Not even girls knew about it and the reason why was never said. On that same day, you guys had to be in the company for the ILLIT debut debrief. You were never close to the girl, you never got the chance to do so but it had a hard blow on members, mostly Iroha. You knew they were roommates and also close on a survival show. Their duo name was something like KOYANGZ or something, but that wasn’t important right now.

On the way, you, of course, had a cap and face mask covering you for privacy and mysteriousness. You decided to sit next to the youngest, you didn’t wanna cross anything but still tried to talk to her, snap her out of her thoughts by saying random things which seemed to work as she engaged in talking more, smiled, and listened to whatever you had to say about your trainee days in HYBE. Once the car stopped in front of the building you were bold enough to hold her hand as you walked into the building. She didn’t pull away, in fact, she held your hand tighter and once you guys sat down, she wanted to sit next to you so that is what you guys did. While the staff was talking you noticed the uneasy look on Iroha's, the debut was good and she would like it, you thought so you whispered into her ear:

“どうしたの？(whats wrong?)”

“何も理解できない... (I don’t understand anything)”

she said with a sad look as you chuckled and asked the staff to slow down with talking a little and whispered a translated version to her ear. As the meeting was finished the girls walked out satisfied by the debut plan and demo version of music you two were the last to walk out. You let the girls walk ahead as you talked about the plan with Iroha. She seemed more open and smiley which gave you some sort of pride. Members decided to walk inside the building for some reason and you guys just went with it. Since you were more talkative Iroha was just staring and listening till one of the old trainee friends stopped you with a loud greeting.

“Y/N??”

“JENNY!”

You yell back as you let go of Irohas hand and just run to the girl picking her up and pulling her into tight embrace. The younger one was left just standing there, awkwardly as a tight feeling formed into her stomach, confused by it.

“I haven’t seen you for so long, I knew it was you when I saw the new ‘mysterious’ girl debuting with ILLIT”

You laughed as you nodded and turned to Iroha as you signaled her to come which she did with an awkward smile looking between you and some girl named Jenny.

“This is my maknae, Iroha,” you say as you pet her back gently. “We have to get going, all though, so maybe catch you later?’  say as you two bid your goodbyes and just continue talking to Iroha, except you weren't holding her hand anymore which made younger feel… empty. After leaving the building back into the dorms everyone washed up and changed into comfortable clothes everyone agreed to have a little more ‘bonding’ time with you since you didn't know the girls well and while they went through a lot together. You kind of wished you were in the show too, get to know them well so things wouldn’t be as awkward as it is now but there was no turning back so all six of you gathered in the living room, chatting and mainly focused on you. Each had their questions about you so you happily answered each of them, but not one question was from Iroha… it made you kind of sad, wasn’t she interested? Why didn’t she ask anything? Did you talk too much?

Truth was, she was more than interested, each time you answered she made sure she didn’t miss anything and secretly noted it down.

Time-to-time you got used to the girls, engaged in playing around with them and just having fun. You also noticed how lighthearted Iroha was. Teasing Wonhee about being the actual maknae because she’s ‘cuter’ than her, which was true because Wonhees face was cute and so were her habits. You always found yourself being closer to Iroha, even after the debut, you always stuck to her side, playing with her, keeping her company, improving her Korean pronunciation, and translating things she couldn’t understand. Iroha was more than grateful and she admired your hard work while also helping you with dance. Everything was good, the title track ‘Magnetic’ was doing amazing on the charts and got in total of 12 wins which made the group so happy. You and Iroha were fans' favorite duo due to you being her safe place on and off cameras. You always made sure she was comfortable, she spoke better Korean than before and you were glad she was happy, happy with you. There was some unspoken tie between you two that members always made sure to tease you guys with making younger blush while you just laughed it off, but both of you knew it deep down too. Whenever you saw your favorite maknae you just wanted to hold her, pinch her cheek, and just baby her all the time. She was always next to you, either teasing you, teasing you, or just enjoying your presence, it made her calm, you were the person who helped her get used to her new way of living. 

Promotions were done but all six of you guys were invited to Paris Fashion Week. Everyone was excited, Iroha was jumping around clinging to you talking all about what she was gonna wear and what she wanted to do in that one week of being in a foreign country. You were also excited and promised to take a lot of pictures of her there.

Once the plane landed the younger couldn't contain her happiness looking around amazed as she dragged you into every shop showing you random things as you bought her a few things she liked.

Once the car got to the hotel members decided to split into 3 different rooms: Yunah & Wonhee, Minju & moka, and you & Iroha, of course. Youngest was pleading to be in the same room as you saying that ‘Wonhee is already lucky enough to be in the same dorm room as you’ which made your heart flutter, just a little. 

The show went amazing, Iroha as usual was by your side and whenever someone spoke in English, you translated everything. It was Iroha's favorite thing about you; the ability to translate for her. You looked so charming but she would never admit that to your face. After the show you two decided to walk around Paris, enjoying the main attraction, the Eifel Tower during the night. The tension was there, both of you could feel it but chose to ignore it as you guys talked about random topics, that was until Iroha stopped in front of a great view of the tower in the back of the bridge.

“Remember, you promised to take pictures of me” she teased implying that she wanted a picture taken which made you chuckle and grab your phone Iroha posing right away. She was beautiful, but the camera couldn’t capture her beauty. Her red nose due to the light wind blowing on her face, perfectly done straight, and long black hair, with bangs that made roha, roha. Choker perfectly sits around her neck, a light brown jacket that she wore at the fashion show. She was all too perfect and all you could do was stare and admire her beauty. That was till Iroha herself had to snap you out of your clouds.

“y/n??” she called out as you looked at her with a smile and all you could do was hum, not trusting your voice to speak up.

She came closer to your face as she put the back of her hand on your cheek.

“Am I that pretty that I got you blushing?” she asked in a teasing manner as she chuckled and tilted her head slightly. It was all too much for you, you wanted her and there was no avoiding it; it was either you have her or be rejected so all you could do was move closer and connect your lips with her.

…

Silence. Irohas heart stopped beating for a second, eyes widened as she tried to process what was happening to her until you pulled back face flushed.

“I'm sorry it was all too sudden, I didn’t know what to do so I just-” You got cut off with a kiss again, this time from Iroha. Your heart was beating as you fluttered your eyes closed putting your arm around her waist to pull her closer as she wrapped hers around your neck. It felt like it lasted for hours till both of you pulled away.

“You talk too much,” Iroha said teasing you causing both of you to burst out laughing.

“Oh, you meant ‘Oh y/n I like you too’” you added making her smack your shoulder.

“You haven't confessed yet, lady,” she said with a point making you cup her cheeks.

“I love you, roha.”

“I love you too, y/nnie”

“Be my girlfriend?” you say, slightly cringing at yourself as Iroha laughs.

“Yes, I’ll be your girlfriend.”

Iroha was more than happy she joined that survival show and made it, she was grateful that HYBE decided to add another girl into the debut line and it so happened to be the love of her life. She loved the changes in her life and was more than happy to get used to it, with you . . .

↳ Anon this is adorable! I'm tempted to write a fic about something along these lines at a different time, but for now have some hcs :]

➸ Pinocchio finds out you sing on one of his return trips to the hotel. His attention is first grabbed by the sound of the piano, its' notes greeting him upon his entrance, and being the artistically inclined man that P is, he naturally follows it. His attention is secondly grabbed by the faint sound of a voice, half hidden by the keys and only to be properly made out that's yours when he's standing in the doorway of the library. He makes eye contact with Antonia, who sends him a smile before turning back to you, who either hasn't noticed that he's there or simply doesn't care. He supposes it to be the former, too engrossed in what you're doing to pay attention to the outside world.

➸ He, very quickly, ends up the same. Dead glass eyes watch intently as your hands glide over the keys, something akin to life sparking in them as he listens to your voice dance with the music. Pinocchios' initial reaction is that you sound beautiful, look beautiful. Though it would be more accurate, I suppose, to say that he thinks you both look and sound incredibly human. P has never heard anyone sing outside of Vinyls, at least not for long, so being able to not only listen in person but watch as you engage in the act of something as human as music has his gears speeding up. Something in them has changed, he's sure of it.

➸ It should come as no surprise to say that Pinocchio is immensely curious about [and attracted to, in your case] things he perceives as human. This is partially due to the fact that he sees them as a goal, something to work towards and obtain, a barrier to be broken between himself and humanity as a whole. And of course this extends to music and is one of the reasons his vinyl collection is ever growing, why he always finds himself returning to the piano. It is a little hard to tell whether Ps' appreciation of art is something inherent to him or if it merely exists because he thinks it has to. In all honesty it's probably both.

➸ Now, to grow less introspective about it all, Pinocchio also just really loves listening to you sing because it's, well, you. He is undoubtably your number one fan, though he's subtle about it. Gemini is the hype man, much to the embarrassment of P and the amusement of Everyone Else. Honestly it's not even really embarrassment on Ps' part, more of an annoyed "wow I wish you would shut the fuck up!" because Gemini has the talent of being able to bring you into every conversation and you being a singer just adds more fuel to a fire that really does not need it [Pinocchio would one hundred percent do the same though if he was more, you know, talkative].

➸ One of Pinocchios' main love languages is quality time, and honestly you being a singer is perfect for that. Most of his time at the hotel is spent just sitting and listening and watching. Something about your voice makes him feel safe, as weird as that may sound. Maybe it's the affection in it when you sing for him alone, or just how intimate the atmosphere ends up being. He's not even sure if he's capable of feeling comfort, but he wouldn't change whatever's in his chest for the world.

➸ In regards to duets, I think Pinocchio would actually be rather open to the idea. Now, contrary to popular belief he can in fact speak, though he seldom ever does it without prompting. He doesn't really see the point in it if we're being honest, yes speaking is human but his voice is so flat and honestly he just doesn't have a lot to say about things. So it's fairly safe to say P has never sung before, hell he's not even sure if his voicebox can function like that, but nonetheless when you bring up the idea of a duet he's not only willing but somewhat eager about the whole thing. There's really no rhyme or reason for it either, Pinocchio just likes the idea of doing something human with someone who makes it easy to forget he's a puppet.

➸ Now Pinocchios' singing voice is actually rather nice! Though it is, of course, undeniably mechanical. There's something off about it, at times sounding like a crude mimicry of a human, a constant stiffness and roughness to it. It falls into a sort of uncanny valley, however there is also something undeniably endearing about it, something human about how much you can tell he wants to express anything in it. As for sound outside of puppetry, Ps' voice is fairly deep but retains a certain gentleness to it, a smoothness that contradicts the stiffness in a really lovely way. And yes, Pinocchio has a sense of rhythm.

➸ Pinocchio has a strong preference for keeping your duets private. The best way to do that, in his opinion, is when you're both out in the gardens dancing together. Under the stars while everyone else is inside, chest against chest and voices in sync, the gentle twirls and turns as you both slip into your own little world. If you couldn't tell how much he values your duets before, you certainly can now. Kiss him after the song is done, won't you?

Once law is sufficiently intoxicated this is one of his most favorite crew activities. His voice is somewhere in the emo/pop punk area and he sounds really good. He’s a showman and will sing directly to people in the crew, pick songs specifically for certain people. It’s when he’s the most carefree so the crew try to get him like this a few times a year (they can’t push it or else he’ll realize what they’re doing)

Bepo loves doing duets. He isn’t the best singer but isn’t the worst, and everyone loves when it’s their turn to sing with him. He’s big into throwing his arm around his partner and dancing with them and he just gets Very Into It. Bring on the Uta.

Shachi is the Party Master, Master of the Party. He absolutely cannot sing but honestly the vibes are so good sometimes people are tricked into thinking he sounds kinda okay. Shachi is the one to rally the troops when it’s time for a party — he gets people hyped up and is the one to start pouring drinks. In the event the crew is singing like a sea shanty or w/e all together shach will be the person stomping out the beat and getting people to join in.

Penguin’s favorite activity is being surrounded by his nakama so karaoke night is always a fav for him. Because he’s so comfortable he’ll knock back a few more drinks than usual and some might even call him chatty. He doesn’t sing, but he’s everyone’s biggest hype man and it’s so genuine. Like even the objectively worst singers on the crew really think he means it when he tells them they sounded great.

I’m still sussing out the rest of the crew but some random vibes are Ikakku is a pop music queen and absolutely owns that mic (she’s everyone’s fav performer), uni is anyway here’s wonderwall, and hyakugan sings like 10 octaves lower than he talks

Smug Bastard x100 He’s making that concert seat look like a throne with how confident he looks, knowing full well that you are talking about him. Nobody else in the thousands seated near him. (Don’t mention how he might have a slight ego about being the second prince, he can’t give you the throne you deserve but he can give himself to you instead. Knowing you return the gesture makes him unreasonably happy)

Stuck between stunned, smug, and highly embarrassed. He has this goofy smile as he watches you strut across the stage, occasionally ducking his face into his hands when you purr the lyrics into the mic and wink at him in the crowd.

His mama went NUTS when she caught her guppy getting serenaded on live broadcast and demanded that he bring you home. She wants to meet the gal who made her baby smile like that!

Your hype man. He’s jumping, dancing, screaming your name, and “I love you”s as you perform. Jamil tries to get him to calm down but how could he when you look like the brightest star in the desert sky? His Jewel has talent!

His father was laughing so loudly when he called, delighted with his son’s choice in love. Immediately offered to build you a personal stadium in return for you (marrying his son) performing for the entire Al-Asim family.

Vil Shoenheit (Only Girl (In the World) - Rihanna)

Smug x100 pt. 2, He is preening under the spotlight of your affections and, while he may be judging your routine (lovingly ofc), he genuinely likes how you make it clear to others that he chose you above everyone else. Though he does question if you have a death sentence announcing your relationship so boisterously.

His father loved your performance! Bold and confident, you really must have what it takes to make his son fall so hard for you. While he may not be at the front of the musical entertainment business, he’d be willing to get you some connections if you ever decide to pursue music in the field.

Hates the attention but melts under your loving stare, completely enraptured by your declaration of love and the thought that you did all this for him. Is 100% recording everything so he can rewatch it over and over again late at night and squeal like a fangirl in the privacy of his room.

His parents teased him relentlessly for finally getting a girlfriend, calling you his Pomegranate, and begging him to bring you home so they can meet you properly. Your references to a well-known myth are not lost on them, and the dedication to get close knowing the potential to get hurt is more than enough to get their trust. His hair is pink by the end of the call but you can tell he’s really happy they like you.

Smug x100 pt. 3, because not only did you invite him to this whole ordeal, but you were performing for him and admitting how much you felt about him in front of such a large crowd. Is not aware of your performance being broadcasted, but knowing that everyone will know who you chose as a mate is more than enough to get him all smug again.

Oh, his grandmother is more than pleased that her grandson found someone so wonderful to rule beside him.  The trust you put in him, the clear admittance that you see him as a safe place, it's all proof to the reigning Queen. The room is humid and uncomfortable. there's so much noise in the background, people laughing and being rowdy. the glow of the karaoke screen from the tv illuminates them and their friends. drunk friends are cheering for the next person to sing, who happens to be guy. Whitney houston's i wanna dance with somebody starts playing.

everyone else joined in, singing off-key. the person sitting next to them drunkenly leaned on their shoulder and they push them away annoyedly. the alcohol starts to make everything feel slow and hazy.

guy starts moving his body to the beat and people hyped him up. honey mused that people are drawn to him like moths to a flame, and he's always had this magnetism to him, that could make anyone let their guard down.

Turun terassikesä: Käärijä 14.8.

This was my first ever Käärijä only show, having only seen him live at Ruisrock.

We went to the queue at around 4PM, doors opened at 6PM and Käärijä performed at 8PM. The set was around 1.5-2h including all the Jere yapping.

All in all great vibes, lots of fun, definitely worth the 30€ price. The audience was really great and Kä has so much charisma there was no need for anyone else to warm-up the audience before him.

Im basing this off of my vbs, so the youth group minimum is just finished 6th grade . so when darry was starting youth, ponyboy would’ve been in the pre-k group.

Timeline for this is probably gonna be canon ages, just modern au.

K ACTUAL HEADCAONS !!

(the first two are when pony’s 10, darry’s 16, and sodapop’s 12)

Darry gets placed with ponyboy . pony’s practically attached to his hip, he doesn’t know anyone in there and he probably had separation anxiety when he was younger, like he does NOT wanna be there 😭🗣️

Sodapop’s with the first and second graders, they LOVE him. He’s always hyping them up and talking to them, he js seems good with kids.

Sodapop is THE DANCER, he has EVERY dance fully memorized (he made ponyboy and darry memorize it, too) he’s so hyped up. He’s singing and dancing, the fourth graders lowkey love him and yelling with him

Darry’s the rec leader. He came up with most of the games, he’s really fun with it. His voice is loud enough to get kid’s attention and not scare them.

Ponyboy’s with the pre-k or kindergarten. I see him being more quiet and laid-back with the kids. He’s stern when he needs to be but that’s rare. He’s KILLER at church clap though(if u dont know what that is,, please search it up it’s SO fun)

Literally EVERYONE knows them. They don’t go to church as much, but their parents knew everyone and introduced them. Even new people know them, they’re like urban legends in town.

They eat the dinner they serve for volunteers alot. They get the leftovers, too. It serves them a full week

(there’s a vending machine in the rec room) soda and darry have gotten into fights over this . it goes on until ponyboy walks in and buys food and gives it to them, then walks out. He doesn’t speak through all of this. The other youth workers are on the floor crying laughing. This moment goes down in history for their church.

Ponyboy wanted to fight his group leader, she made him uncomfy (when he confessed this to darry and sodapop, they almost fought her)

After vbs ends, the youth group goes to do stuff

(schedule is sunday night, dairy queen, monday night ultimate frisbee at the church yard, tuesday laser tag, wednesday is pool party for context)

Darry is in charge of the youth group, sodapop already knows everyone so he has insights on what they prefer and he know most of the older kids,

Sodapop talks to everyone constantly. He knows everyone’s names, they ALL love him lowkey 💀 ponyboy’s more quiet, he doesn’t talk to ANYONE. He’s the youngest at the hangouts after vbs.

Everyone thinks he’s socially anxious. He’s not, he could talk at anytime and not get made fun of, he just doesn’t wanna talk.

He talks more the last two nights, but that’s because soda snuck him a drink before-hand (darry yelled so loud when he found out .)

Nanami is the informed parent. From the moment he knows his s/o is expecting he’s reading and researching and making sure he’s prepared to give his child the best life possible. He does so well too, his patience and gentleness towards his children is amazing.

You’ll never see him complaining about middle of the night wake ups, the most you’ll get is a little frustrated breath through his nose (though never in front of the baby). He isn’t put off by tantrums, or food going flying, or a little destructive streak. He knows it’s all developmentally appropriate, he knows it’s to be expected, and he knows how he reacts is important.

His favourite age is 1-4, when they start really communicating and opening up to the world. He loves explaining things, and answering questions, even if that answer is sometimes “I don’t know sweetheart, but let’s find out.”

He can be stern when appropriate, holding firm boundaries even in the face of flying toys and stomping feet, but he really is a softie for his child. “Will you stay until I fall asleep Daddy?” Well he’s going to be curling up uncomfortably in their tiny bed until he’s fallen asleep himself. The sore neck in the morning is worth it.

“Daddy you’re the Trash Princess, I have to slay you and stop your family’s cruel reign.” He’s taping an empty chocolate wrapper to his shirt, donning a tiara, and getting stabbed by a plastic sword as many times as needed to make his baby laugh.

Todo is the hype parent. His sweet baby angel has done nothing wrong ever.

He’s incredibly supportive too, whether it’s a sport, music, art, anything. He’ll be looking for classes to sign them up for and anything they need to be the best at it. The only thing he asks is that whatever his kid wants to do they do with their whole heart - and they’ll surely have the confidence for it with how he’s raised them.

Picture that parent that’s screaming in the crowd like it’s a pro game during little league games. Or the big beefy guy crying at his kid���s dance recital because they’re just so skilled it moves him to tears. Or they’re at a spelling bee and he’s in the crowd telling everyone around him that his kid is an actual genius.

His partner needs to temper the ego their child could potentially have, but otherwise he and the kid will be thick as thieves. There might be some choppy waters when they hit that age where they’re filled with uncertainty over their interest and pursuits, and it’s hard for Todo to be okay with them taking that time to be a little aimless if they happen to want to distance themselves from any kind of after school activities, but in the end he will understand that happiness might come in a form he hasn’t yet thought of.

Gojo is the fun parent. Brownies before dinner, jumping on the bed, staying up late to play games.

Until then though, the newborn through toddler stage absolutely throws him. It’s not the sleepless nights, or the messiness, or the worry about germs. It’s the confusion. When his baby is upset he can go through the checklist of “fed, clean, comfortable,” he can sing and rock them, or try to distract them with toys. All things he’s heard could work, but sometimes that just doesn’t matter. He doesn’t like feeling helpless like that, but a child’s emotions are unpredictable and he has to get used to that.

The 4+ stage is his favourite, they love his silliness, they love how seamlessly he goes along with their antics. This age is when his kids are absolutely in the palm of his hand, so don’t be surprised when they have a strong parental preference for him and complain that no one else does the voice for their favourite stuffed animal right, or no one else knows just how much milk they want in their cereal.

He’s just always ready for any adventure with them. They want to go camping? He’s buying a tent and setting it up in the backyard that night. They want to stop by McDonald’s on the way to school? They’ll only be a little late. They have a convoluted play they’re putting on and they need grown ups to play the part of two horses and a dragon? He’s calling his friends and telling them it’s an emergency.

Don’t mistake it for weakness though. He will sit back and let his kid learn a lesson if they need to. Climbing somewhere they shouldn’t be? They’ll fall on their butt because they need to to learn. He’s also not a pushover by any means. He has no problems telling his kids no when he thinks it’s necessary. He just thinks it’s important to have wiggle room in some cases.

Sukuna is the tough love parent. Training wheels off his kid’s bike the second they managed to figure out everything with them still on. Pulling them out deep enough in the pool where their toes can’t reach the bottom.

It is certainly tough. But, it’s also certainly love. He expects so much of his child, he knows they can do it, he knows the world is only holding them back, he knows life will be easier if they have a thickened skin. But… his child pulls his heart open more than he ever thought. It makes him think of himself when he was young, it makes him think that maybe the things he went through weren’t because he was too soft as a child, maybe it was because the world was too hard on him.

He slips back into those old ways of thinking often. A cold “get up, you’re fine.” When they skin their knee because it was too early to take the training wheels off. A “sink or swim” when they panic in the deep end. But then he’s carrying them into the house to give them a popsicle while he cleans their knee. And he’s putting them on his back while he wades through the water, letting them cling on and practice their kicking every so often.

He’s a parent that thrives with a teen, to his surprise. He hadn’t been looking forward to it, to be honest, with the constant “just wait” doom and gloom parents get. Messy emotions, being unable to stand him, talking back constantly. It’s a lot for him to think of, especially once he’s just gotten into his stride with parenting and his kid thinks of him as a big tough cool guy. But then… the teen years go just fine. Sure his kid is dealing with the volatile emotions and social minefield that is being that age, but Sukuna speaks to them plainly, and it gets through to them somehow.

Sometimes there’s that “you just don’t get it” response, but never in an upset way. They’ve learned to take their dad for what he is at that point. They aren’t hardened, but they can roll with the punches. He isn’t soft, but he’s human.

But first - this is probably my last Hazbin Hotel-related analysis until the next season; give me asks during this long dry spell!

I’m all for subjectivity. People can just like or dislike things regardless of quality. Heck, I know Helluva Boss is part of the Hazbin world, but it gives me too much cringe and vicarious embarrassment to handle.

(Yeah, I’m weird. I know)

But I keep hearing people say Hazbin Hotel is mid or just relying on hype.

Those are fighting words!

We are getting quality on par with Disney movies for a tv series!

That’s crazy! Let’s break it down.

Musical numbers

Talented singers play the main crew. Stephanie Beatrix plays Mirabel Madrigal, Kimiko plays Izzy, etc.

There were 2 songs per episode! And because it is truly perfect for a musical, we even get thematic reprises and callbacks!

Does anyone recall when similar things have happened in animation? MLP:FiM had a glorious episode that was ALL musical with a reprise. That’s all I have at this scale outside of Disney.

Characters

I’ve always known Vivzie to put thought into her work, and this shines through so well in Hazbin.

Lucifer’s depression is similar to my own

Angel’s gradual changes and struggles are realistic

Charlie’s breed of passion is the same as mine in my career

Alastor’s extremely manipulative yet we all love him

Velvette had one of the best formal character intros I’ve seen in a long time

Hazbin Hotel works really hard to get away from stereotypes, and dives in past superficial traits.

Also, we get things like Valentino sounding like he’s squeaking because moths squeak. We don’t need these things!

Animation

You know what else we don’t need?

Airplane arms!

Complicated dance moves!

Cute leg swishies with cuter sound effects?

Every second you see is 10+ frames traditionally. (Idk the studio’s technical details). That’s wild to add in these complicated extra details! And they flow so nicely! This level of quality for 2D (and honestly 3D too most of the time) is unheard of in the West nowadays.

And on that, western adult animated shows typically are so poorly made, especially in the art. Even the few I have seen that have okay stories to tell absolutely stink in terms of visuals and movement.

Story

Yeah, this is the biggest weakness Hazbin Hotel has, no doubt. The story is actually an incredible premise, and truly done pretty well within the awful time constraints. I think everyone is valid in saying it was far too fast! Hopefully we get more (or longer) episodes in upcoming seasons.

But at the same time, this is also the nature of musicals. If you think this is fast, don’t watch the Les Miserables musical where everyone only sings. Idk why, but singing the entire time makes everything seem like you’re in a race car on autopilot.

Don’t forget; the symbolism just drips out of the screen in this show. The fact that I could still do more analyses even now is a testament to that with all the content I have done since it aired. Vivienne goes hard on the details.

But put yourself in Vivzie’s shoes. You do the impossible, shot for the moon while hoping for maybe the top of a 5-story building, and you were offered the stars. Your project has been a part of who you are before you even went to university, and a major company gives you a way to bring it to life? Why wouldn’t you settle for this good of a deal?

Innovation

People do not bring up often enough that Vivienne broke a glass ceiling separate from that of gender. She showed that YouTube animations can be taken seriously, and even be aired.

In this age, the Saturday morning cartoon blocks I grew up with no longer exist. There were tons of great shows, and I could talk with other kids about it. Nestled within these weekends were shows that ran short pilot episodes for potential series. The last time I saw one was Adventure Time’s pilot.

It’s been a whiiiiiiile.

So having a cutesy little indie pilot animation amongst thousands on YouTube be such high quality and get a mainstream platform? Spindlehorse made history!

Moreso, Helluva Boss is also demonstrating the capacity of indie studios like never before - and what may pave the way for the future of animation too.

Out of all the animated series running on YouTube, Glitch is the only creator who does 3D that I am aware of. Even Glitch’s work has only started within the past few years, ie after Vivienne managed the impossible.

So please, stop complaining about subjective parts so much. Hazbin Hotel objectively has some of the highest craftsmanship in western animation.

We are blessed that Vivienne’s dream has come true in such a glorious manner. When I discovered her back in 2012, I couldn’t have guessed the pilot would be so successful, nor that it would change what was possible for animation!
