I always fall for someone and forget that like I LOVE getting home and everything is exactly the way I left it in my apartment which is my beautiful space where no one will ever turn on the overhead lights or want me to come up with something to say and a facial expression to make, right now, quick or they will think I hate them! The pressure is on! The clock is ticking! Except it's not ever ticking in my wonderful apartment. An idyllic world where my body language just does not matter and I only do the tasks I want to do

(love the implications of this line and the hindsight that knowing about veth gives us. nott hates herself for being a goblin, but the thing is that being a goblin gives her -in her mind- a free pass to be all the things she always wanted to be but was never allowed to. and i think a lot about how that ended up shaping her sense of autonomy and self-respect.)

i think im not a fan of what dc keeps doing with jason because they keep having him, the abused, become an abuser in some way shape or form. and the classism they don't want to talk about (i am being so for real there is a genuine problem of both writers and readers who do not understand jason's background and it pissed me off so bad because it always shapes their opinion of him in the wrong way and they don't care to even try to listen). and how if they were going to have him come back they should have had delved into his identity crisis and the inherent horror of coming back but not knowing how or why or what to do about it and not knowing what you were doing while dead and having to deal with time jumping forward on you and the fact that you will never get the time back and no one will he the same as they were before you died and how isolating and lonely that would be. and they also definitely weren't prepared for the fact that jason was grieving his life and his death and his hopes for his mother and his dad who didn't get there in time and the dc writers are fucking cowards. which brings me to my next point: why do we keep listening to them about shit because they are quite literally always fighting with each other and projecting their own personal biases into characters (i.e. making them worse than they are/2 dimensional/trying to make them iredeemable so their favorite character gets to shine) and also they are all freaks of nature with a consistent problem of being God Awful People who why would we trust them with these characters. jason todd they don't get you like i do

thinking about the early days when their parents first died and ponyboy is turning to soda for comfort more and more because he knows soda gets it because sodas crying so he won’t judge pony for crying. one night pony wide awake crying leftover tears from a nightmare and the general “how come darry don’t like me no more” and sodas comforting him and trying to convince him otherwise.

after a particularly rough day and rougher nightmare he asks soda “how come darry never cries? ain’t he sad too?”

soda who really ought to keep his mouth shut sometimes says “of course he’s sad. i caught him crying in the shower the other day. i think he just don’t cry in front of us; kinda like dally. you know he was upset but instead of crying like the rest of us, he found more trouble.”

pony’s quiet for moment. “why don’t he ever cry with us though? he didn’t even cry at the fune- at the church”

soda sighs. ponyboy isn’t gonna get it; no matter how hard he tries pony won’t get it because he’s not older than anybody. he won’t understand the instinct to protect someone.“you remember in comic books how the superheroes never cry; they just box up their feelings until they explode?”

“yes?”

“…darry’s kinda like that. he’s our superhero; i don’t think he cries because he dont want to scare us. if he cries it kinda proves that we’re all scared and, i don’t know about you, but i’ve never seen darry scared or in a situation he couldn’t handle.”

“i don’t know soda, i think it’s scarier that he doesn’t cry.” his voice trails off but soda knows him well enough to know pony’s holding back from saying something else. “when is darry gonna blow up?”

“huh?”

pony huffs. “you said the superheroes that hide their feelings blow up; when’s darry gonna blow up?” there is no mistaking the fear in his voice asks and now soda kinda regrets that metaphor (analogy? it’s one of them, soda always mixes them up).

soda sighs and shrugs his shoulders. “i don’t know, honey.”

pony sits up and looks at soda incredulously. “what do you mean you don’t know! i thought you told each other everything?”

soda sits up too. “well not everything. how do you even know that— are you reading my journal you little shit?”

“yes but that isn’t the point okay!” pony blushes and shakes his head widely.

“fine.” soda huffs and lays back down. he’s a little shit for reading his stuff but pony was right; him and darry did tell each other everything. but since everything it’s almost like a flip switched and darry decided he had to keep all his emotions bottled up and he couldn’t depend on anyone. “i don’t know ponyboy. he doesn’t talk to me anymore, he doesn’t talk to anyone.”

“…because he doesn’t want to scare us?”

“i think so yeah.”

“soda?” pony asks after about five minutes of silence. he’s lying back down now with his head on sodas chest.

“yeah, honey?”

“i don’t like this darry.”

soda can feel his heart cracking and his stomach dropping. “what do you mean?”

“i want my darry back.” pony’s about to cry again, soda can hear the quiver in his voice asks he tries not to. “i don’t want darry to be our guardian if he’s not my brother anymore. i want my brother, i want my darry!”

as soon as he finishes speaking, pony breaks into sobs again. this time soda doesn’t really know how to comfort him besides holding him closer and stroking his hair. “i know, honey. it’ll be okay.” he repeats those two phrases like a mantra until pony falls asleep.

Bonus! Based on this quick thing I did this afternoon and the idea took a bit more shape and turned into that thing from above uEK

#not too much effort on the colors with this one #o would’ve left it just with lineart but at the end I thought it would look nicer with some rough shadows #shadowing. you know what I meant.#his plant markings being extremely faint on his eyes when they aren’t glowing is very true to me also #I think itd be awesome if Vash’s eyes would just look like that when he isn’t masking #or they could be a bit more lax but still look like they are staring far far away into the void #or into your souls if you so happen to make eye contact with him. like woowoo over here #he is probably listening for one of his sisters who is not so close to him. maybe even Kni? who knows it’s up to interpretation #Vash’s hair can be such a nightmare also. rewatched madoka magica again today bc i fucking hate myself and to absolutely no one’s surprise i went through all five stages of grief in a single evening

#let’s talk about sayaka miki for a second #genuinely the fact that her whole character is centered around tragedy almost to a shakespearean extent #she’s selfless and brave and values her justice and righteousness above all. calls herself an ally of justice #in fact i think it’s rather intriguing how her whole character is centered around “justice”#her story being a more twisted retelling of the original little mermaid #how she is initially portrayed as a very heroic and confident character even before becoming a magical girl. always shielding madoka #selling her soul to heal the boy she loved out of a selfless desire to see him well again #her being absolutely distraught abt being robbed of her humanity and betrayed by kyubey #she combats this harrowing realization by immersing herself in her duties not caring that she is slowly deteriorating in the process #becoming numb with pain and fighting recklessly and psychotically trying to drown out the pain #finally coming to the sickening conclusion that humanity doesn’t deserve her saving and she succumbs to a fate of her making #last words being “i was so stupid” which trumps her previous statement of “there’s no way i’d regret this”#ALSO? the fact that her costume and weapon are symbolic of a knight. she rly portrays this hero of justice who will protect and defend ☹️#i think abt the fact that homura said that sayaka’s wish was so selfless it was only a matter of time before she died #sayaka being the example of what happens to magical girls who go through the entire cycle and eventually become witches is so sad to me #genuinely just like. sick and twisted #very very fucked up.#characters who have their own misconstrued interpretation of “justice” or who are centered around justice in general.#you will always be dear to me.#sayaka reminds me a lot of akechi in some ways ngl #harboring an almost idealized vision of justice but it slowly rots and festers and corrupts their hearts the more immersed w it they become #actually losing their sanity when they fight bc of how much pain they’re in but refuse to acknowledge it until they break #refusing any help and wallowing in misery despite having ppl who love them and want to save them #last words are those expressing regret for being such a fool. for being ignoring #being used by yhe main villain as a stepping stone towards their true goal. they were merely a pawn #also doomed in every version of their reality. always doomed by the narrative no matter what choices they make #i have a type i fear #HAHAHAH ALSO the fact that they’re both dressed so regally compared to everyone else in their respective series #meant to portray them in a virtuous and princely light. only made more apparent by the sword being their weapon of choice #i’m gonna shut up now but they’re soo eerily similar its unnerving tbh 💀

Bruce: *not listening, eyes closed and brow furrowed*

Clark: Bruce? Are you all good?

Bruce: *Puts his hands over his ears* Please stop talking

Clark: *Worriedly steps closer*

Bruce: *holding his hand out to stop him* No! Don't move either! *sinks down to his knees, hands over his ears once more*

Clark: *trying very hard to figure out how to help without talking or moving*

Bruce: *whispering* Clark... Clark, it's so loud

Clark: *whispering as quietly as possible* Bruce?

Bruce: *looks up, eyes watery*

Clark: *blinks in surprise before floating and, as slowly as he can, flies over to the table and closes the box*

Bruce: *buries his head in his arms, ears still covered*

Clark: *slowly and quietly sits down next to Bruce*

Clark: *Whispering* It's going to be alright, Bruce. I'm here

Clark sits with Bruce in complete silence for an hour, waiting for the effects to wear off. At some point, Bruce shifts so that his head rests on Clark's chest, allowing him to listen to his heartbeat and block out the noise.

An email. A brief text. Have Foggy excitedly brag to Matt and Karen that he has #something to show them tomorrow morning that is going to blow their minds #But no. They just expected that people would hang in there waiting for a point.#I have always loved the mystery solving aspect of this show and so I personally felt very disconnected with everything #for most of this season. So to just bring this up in the last 2 episodes feels a bit late.#But I do love them getting their sleuth on together. And I guess it makes sense if things changed now because Karen's back.#Like her departure paused everything and her arrival back is just as everything hits a new gear.#Matt wasn't meant to work this all out on his own.#I still think it wasn't worth Foggy's life but it's an interesting plot piece.#And I like Matt hyping Karen up at the beginning. Like no duh she's good at finding things - she was a reporter.#Matt should really invest in a coat so he isn't wandering around dressed like Daredevil in places that likely have cameras.#I'd say he could have borrowed one from Frank but... now I'm picturing that conversation and that seems a little farfetched.#Frank has like two outfits I doubt he has a coat he can lend out.#(The new gif limits are crazy FYI. Rengoku-san was so, so close to cutting off Akaza's head, yet Akaza still felt more terror about dawn.

#i'm just #sitting with this #Akaza was stunned by Rengoku's strength yes #but he's seen a lot of Hashira who were ultimate unable to overpower a demon #Rengoku was already clearly dying at that point if he stayed human #Akaza was more worked up about that than his own peril initially #Rengoku was so strong and yet #AND YET #it just goes to show how overwhelming outmatched humans are by nature of being humans #but Rengoku chose this #for him it wasn't about winning and proving his own strength #like what might have motivated easily disheartened Rengoku ancestors #it was about not letting that demon harm anyone else there #hence why Tanjiro dying would have truly meant Rengoku's loss #but despite his hard earned victory #Akaza felt no fear of him #not really #humans just aren't the sun #and this is why the 12 Kizuki are always so stunned when they are defeated #BUT MUZAN DIDN'T TRULY KNOW FEAR UNTIL YORIICHI ANYWAY which goes to show how far a league of his own lonely Yoriichi was #my head is in my hands #things that happen when Mugen Ressha music goes through your head during the work day #rengoku kyojuro #rengoku kyoujurou #akaza
