So this is a comic I’ve wanted to do for a long time because it hits fairly close to home for me, but especially because I think this is foundational to Phoenix and Edgeworth’s relationship: trust. Throughout the games we see that they push and pull one another to get to the bottom of a situation, to discover the truth and do what’s right, even when it’s difficult. While obviously not canon, to me their relationship is so emblematic of kink it’s nearly unavoidable in my depictions of them--Edgeworth may always seem to be the ultimate string pulling master with a thousand tricks up his sleeve, but none of this could happen if he did not totally relinquish control via his unwavering trust in Phoenix.

i think the most annoying part of dog food discourse is how many people will act as though proplan/hill’s/Royal canin diets aren’t extremely and prohibitively expensive and that THAT is the reason so many people look into healthy alternatives.

People complain about corn being in the first five ingredients on most of those feeds because, regardless of other factors here, that is not an expensive ingredient. But it makes up a large chunk of the dry food. So the dry food should be fairly affordable, right?

Oh… with tax you’re spending about $100 for one 45lb bag of food where the third ingredient is wheat and the fourth and fifth ingredients are corn.

Oh… well! It’s slightly cheaper! But the second ingredient is rice, third is wheat, fourth is corn, and then fifth is poultry byproduct. None of those are very expensive so this just must be the low end cost of dog food unfortunately. The vets recommend it so surely that means prices aren’t inflated, right?

Oh? This one has similar ingredients with the only real difference being no corn? And it’s half the price?? Well surely that’s just a fluke.

Oh. Oh no.

This one even has CORN in it and it’s $20 cheaper?? Wow!

Like listen at some point I don’t care if your dog food has the ichor of the gods in it, I’m not spending $100 every five days if there are cheaper options with just as many “good” ingredients in it. If you think I’m a dog abuser because I can’t afford this overpriced garbage, that’s too bad. I don’t care. My dogs are perfectly healthy with the food I give them. Great weight and great coat. People giving dog food recommendations that aren’t those top three hyper-expensive dog foods aren’t trying to epic own those dastardly vets half the time, but I really don’t blame the ones who do lose trust in vets when the only heartworm protection they recommend lately are expensive triple-action brands like Simparica Trio that costs $120+ as opposed to the other heartworm protections that are only about $40-$60 on average, which is still cheaper even if you add on a $20-$40 flea and tick protection separately, and only recommend dog food that costs $85+ a bag even if your dog doesn’t have specialized dietary needs.

Those top three foods are GREAT at making competent prescription diets, I don’t deny that. I do still have to criticize the pricing of those prescription diets though because I have spoken to DOZENS of people who had to pull their pets off of a prescription diet and struggle to find something comparable because they couldn’t afford the food, and that’s terrible! These are not poor companies! Purina, Royal Canin, and Hill’s can ABSOLUTELY afford to lower their prices to make their food accessible to people who need it for their animals but they don’t. They probably never will. Because at the core they are run by greedy corporations. It doesn’t matter how many good nutritionists are on board if the company is run by people who put profits over customers and make the food impossible for people to afford.

I've finally been back on a writing kick as of late and am very grateful (it also helps when I have a current fixation hehe) This may or may not be a self-insert with a certain dragon sovereign, but I left it pretty anonymous so as to grant space for interpretation, both for myself and whoever may read.

Lately, I've also felt drawn to a format of writing that is pretty long vertically, so I'll include the piece under the cut. Enjoy 🖤

Working to ourselves

I’m on the couch reviewing my documents

He’s behind his desk

Reviewing trials for the following days

And sniffling up a storm

Handkerchief in hand

Eyebrows scrunched ever so slightly

And on the verge

I’m stealing glances every now and then

Unable to take my eyes off of him

He’s so beautiful

And currently at the mercy of the inevitable

He pardons himself

Quickly inhales right at the tail end

And releases

Then another

Soft as ever always, but with a subdued intensity

A sigh

A sniffle or three

I look over

And watch his eyebrows relax

He readies his handkerchief

Gives two soft inhales

On the one hand, I can understand why they didnt do anything more with the implication that Dan and Elise share a grandmother (it would retroactively make anything dan/elise ship related kinda weird) but on the other hand, can you imagine how fucking funny that dynamic would be if explored?

I just realised today that it’s been over 8 years since I published my first piece of reader insert fanfiction (not for DL but it laid the groundwork for what was to come) and it’s absolutely crazy to me. I don’t know that I’ve talked about it on this blog much (for it was not good by anyone’s standards) but I used to publish on Quotev and I made a couple of friends on there who really helped me when I was going through a hard time in real life (not that I think any of them necessarily realised how much :’) ). Sadly we all sort of drifted away from the site and lost contact but I still think about them sometimes and hope that wherever they are they’re doing well. 

I miss our little community on there too and the silly conversations we used to have, as while I don’t think Tumblr ever quite had the same vibe, I do think it’s grown a lot more impersonal over the years (or at least that’s certainly been my experience). 

Anyway I don’t know that there’s much of a point to this other than me reminiscing but if we’ve interacted at some point while I’ve been running this blog, or even if you just silently like a lot of my posts (because believe me, there are usernames I recognise even if we’ve never properly talked), then I’m grateful and I hope that you’re happy and doing well.

omg so real this has been my mood for so long haha. any time he’s in a new chapter i go insane and feel the urge to make a nagumo fancam/edit (I haven’t touched tiktok in over a year). my delusional self is hoping for that anime announcement during jump festa but also i want a good studio to pick it up and do the series justice!!

I can't stress enough how important it is to draw characters with physical traits you find ugly, unattractive and/or repulsive, especially if you yourself share those traits. Nothing will make you more accepting of diversity in yourself and others that engaging with it during the creative process and giving it to characters you love.

this "the idol" show situation is so disturbing to me especially when people are already attacking jennie for wanting to be part of the show when she wanted to join when the early script wasn't changed and sam levinson wasn't in the picture truly it's insane to me how they attack her when she isn't even a main character and apparently has like 4 or 3 lines and was literally used to promote the show like.... be honest for a second right now
