(AU) Shinigami Orihime or Quincy Orihime

I wanna draw some Bleach OC but end up drawing Orihime instead. I guess, my love for Orihime that big. Yeah this artstyle a little different but I love Kubo Tite and drawing in his artstyle is kinda nice as a big fan of him. I love it even its not perfect but I'll try. Very neat.

As always, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. AU Shinigami and Quincy Orihime is the same as OG. Shinigami I just make her prettier, she has her 2 hairpins and I think she look cool with dual zanpakuto.  Which division she in? Idk, maybe 4th or maybe I like prefer her under Rukia.

While Quincy Orihime, I make her a little sadder, she has her 2 hairpins and quincy power. Low key, I kinda enjoy making her AU Quincy.

Raincode × Cult of the Lamb au...

It isn't a 1:1 au, more of a mix of the two games. Makoto, Yomi, Guillaume+Dominic, Seth, and Swank are the bishops, with each having a right-hand disciple (their importance depends on the bishop; Yomi's disciple is Martina, other disciples don't really matter) (kiiiinda thinking that Seth's disciple is mr Charlie Radiohead by my bestie @wackpedion . . . Wiki do you want me to turn Charlie into a cute little guy)

Yomi is like Kallamar, he's an absolute coward and has Martina fight in his place for his boss battle- when you defeat her, he comes out with a ton of weapons and is unpredictable (but doesn't do a lot of damage). Maybe he uses Martina's death to grow more powerful, showing that he doesn't really care that she's gone.

Guillaume and Dominic are a duo pair of bishops, tag-teaming. Dominic gets to talk, not very often after losing the crown they share (I think I'll give him Heket's throat injury).

I haven't figured out much about Seth and Swank in particular, but I'm definitely going to workshop this.

Meanwhile! Makoto takes Narinder's place, being the Bishop of death- but Yomi knew Makoto would grow far more powerful than the rest of them, and locked him away. Makoto, noticeably, is a lamb- just as Yuma is. Theyre not the same person, but they're like... mirrors. Only reason they're not the same person is because I couldn't figure out how to get that to work here. Anyway, the bishops decide to kill all of the lambs for the same reason as Canon Cult of The Lamb, and Yuma is the last living lamb. Makoto chooses him to kill the bishops and bring him back to power, and gives him the Crown.

Now, you might be wondering, wheres Shinigami in this au? Here she is. The crown in cotl has a personality of its own and can sometimes communicate with the Lamb, but here, there's a full-on person in there. She can speak with Yuma and takes a liking to him, happy to be able to be out and about again and not restricted to Godhood with Makoto.

Yakou is Ratau, being a previous attempt of freedom of Makoto's, but you don't sacrifice him to the fox- he dies in the Yomi battle. See, Yomi figures out the best way to get out of dying to Yuma isn't to send illness and famine to Yuma's cult- it's to kill someone Yuma really cares about, it's to give Yuma a choice. Kneel, or allow for Yakou to be killed. Kneel, and Martina kills both Yuma and Yakou- with Yomi, of course, hitting Yakou when he's already down. If you refuse, Martina kills Yakou, but he fights back before dying and gets a good chunk of damage on Martina. While it sorta takes away Yakou's selfish actions from Raincode, I honestly can't figure out how to incorporate it into this au- I do intend on him being a bit selfish, though.

I'm still workshopping it, but the NDA detectives are Yuma's disciples.

Hii so I was feeling quirky and had a cool protag design idea with Seth (mostly the question mark shaped belts) and so yeah I made a protag!seth and deathgod!yakou AU.

I imagine Yakou would be a very unmotivated death god, guy is sleeping on the floor (doesn't even need sleep) and Seths trying to drag him along with the spirit chain. Also since he was trapped in a book for god knows how long I imagine hes very touch starved and therefor clingy and touchy lmao Also rather than calling Seth "master", he calls him "prince/princey" :) Which also makes me think what if at some point along the way Seth starts calling Yakou his 'knight'...

Seth I see being very skeptical of everything because of his amnesia (in contrast to Yumas naivety), that and hes more jumpy and easy to scare. He is still very bitter man.

He doesn't have a megaphone, so he communicates primarily through sign language (That's what the symbol on his armband is about). In the mystery labyrinth, instead of a sword he uses a megaphone teehee (Also he should NOT be allowed a sword DO NOT give this man a sword) I see Seth's motive for creating a pact with a death god being that nobody listens to him, primarily because of his voice/inability to talk quite the same as others, and so he thought this would be necessary in order to bring the truth to light

You may have noticed i have doodles of NDA chief Shinigami, well I actually don't got much for her. I did it mostly because my AU prompted my friend to draw peacekeeper Yuma and so I was like yeah might as well

Are there any other JoJo's floating around in Soul Society and beyond?

So I like to populate the background characters of my fic with characters from another series as just a fun reference, but I feel like some people are reading into it a little to much. It's like- well, there's a watsonian perspective on it and a doylist one and a sort of meta-watsonian one.

From the watsonian/in-narrative perspective? You know that line from that Stucky fic everyone loves about "we deserve a soft epilogue?" I like to imagine AUs for main characters where they still live in an animeverse, but are free from the burden of being The Main Character. Usuke Urameshi lives in Karakura town, but he was never The Spirit Detective. He's just some former punk with mild psychic abilities who runs the ramen shop Ichigo goes to sometimes. Josuke is just some guy that has enough power to be a shinigami, but he's just like, rank and file. You see him in crowd shots. They're alternate universe versions of their full powered, main character selves and probably happier than those versions.

From a doylist perspective, it's a fun game of reference tag to play with the reader. A sort of where's Waldo of random characters from related series. Sort of like putting Samuel L Jackson in a bit part in your movie and giving him a purple prop to fiddle with. He's not playing Mace Windu, but for sharp-eyed nerds, he is making a star wars reference. Sometimes it's just for fun, sometimes is a way to lay on some really subtle thematic context. Like overlaying a 8% opacity layer of yellow on a digital piece to give the impression of late afternoon. Nothing explicit. Nothing relevant to the plot. Just a bit of seasoning.

From a meta-watsonian perspective, a lot of how I write fic was influenced by the old Kids WB bumps where the voice actors would play their characters *as though they were actors hanging out on the warner studios lot* Batman was still Batman, but he was also a guy playing Batman on TV. Yugi moto still had the cosmic powers of the millennium puzzle but also complained about how much time he had to spend in hair and makeup. So when you see a character from another series in my fic, they're an alternate universe version of themselves that is Not Relevant To The Plot, and on another level they're like an actor famous on another show, coming in to do a bit part on their friend's show for funsies.

...but mostly I do it so I don't have to make up names for OCs I'm only using for four seconds.

To actually answer your question: Yuzu is a HUGE fan of this educational YouTube channel run by Marine Biologist Jotaro Kujo. He's the only guy who gives echinoderms their due. She shows Ukitake and Unohana and they like him a lot too. Unohana writes to him to put him in touch with Hanataro and the two put together a major survey of venomous marine life with potential medical applications. Ukitake just likes fish :).

“I’m sorry.”

Stein’s mumbled apology blended nearly perfectly with the monotonous beeping of one of the infirmary’s many heart monitors, with Spirit’s gentle breathing being simultaneously muffled and aided by the oxygen mask strapped to his face.

He did not turn to even so much as glance at Lord Death, of whom was standing uncharacteristically solemnly beside him. His gaze was transfixed on his weapon.. or what was left of him.

“Hm?” The shinigami hummed, staring down at Franken. He noted how wide his eyes were, his countenance unreadable. The only discernible emotion present was some sort of mixture between horrification and a dissociative disorientation. It was clear as day that the meister he knew was not in the room with him, he was somewhere else entirely, somewhere in the deepest, darkest recesses of his mind. He was somewhere in his inner labyrinth that no one else had ever seen before, that no one else was allowed in.

“I’m sorry,” he repeated, sounding eerily reminiscent of a robot.

“Stein.” He called out, hoping to see any sign of life in the other. Franken did not turn. He did not move at all. He placed a large, gloved hand on his shoulder, shaking him softly. And finally, he glanced up at him. “You don’t need to apologize, ever. I mean it. It’s not your fault. What happened wasn’t your fault.”

Stein’s lips parted, seemingly searching for words to emit. His brows furrowed, his facial muscles twitching.

“Why-“

The incessant beeping of the monitor became a string of the same note, playing on and on and on. An abrupt and telling change, causing time to cease marching for a brief moment - and only for a moment, as a few nurses rushed in, shoving them aside.

They performed all the CPR that they could possibly perform, even accidentally breaking a rib or two, cracking his sternum trying to get his heart pumping again. There was no symbol of any imminent return to life, to his body. He was gone.

Lord Death grabbed him by the wrist, pulling him out of the room, as he repeatedly and longingly glanced back at his friend, his first friend, his first ever friend, the first person to really treat him as though he were human be wheeled off and treated like every other carcass.

“Franken,” he said, his voice grounding, as he enfolded the shaken male outside of the infirmary. “It’s not your fault.”

Stein found that his jaw had gone slack, his eyes bulging out from their sockets. He was entirely still for a moment, unsure of what to do, or what was appropriate to do. He had no footing, no ground to stand on. Caring about someone else wasn’t a burden he’d ever had to bear. And he’d never felt so responsible for someone else before. He’d never felt remorseful, he’d never played the same scenes over and over and over again in his head, pondering what he could’ve done differently, what could’ve saved one of the only people to ever believe in him, to care for his livelihood.

“How is it not my fault? I’m his meister,” he sobbed, gasping for air. His body began to move on its own, his arms wrapping around Lord Death’s much taller torso, grabbing fistfuls of his cloak. “He’s dead.”

Lord Death placed a hand on the back of his head, his free arm encasing him. “You can only do so much. He chose to sacrifice himself-“

“To save me. He saved me. He chose to save me. Why?”

“Well, because you were his meister. You were his friend. He’d do anything for his friends. You don’t have much experience with friendship, do you, son?”

“I don’t have much experience with any of this! I don’t know how to deal with any of this!” Stein whimpered pitifully. “What am I supposed to do?”

“Continue on. Continue living just as you have. That’s all we can do, isn’t it?”

‘You can only do so much.’

“You still have everyone else, Stein. You still have Marie and-“

“Spirit’s dead…… I’m not built for friendship. Or to be saved.”

A sigh reverberated within Lord Death’s form, as he went completely silent. A ball was stuck in Stein’s throat as he listened to his own pathetic cries, effectively asphyxiating him.

There was only one thing the both of them could do; they could, over time, come to accept that nothing would ever be the same again. Not in that academy, not in their lives. Not without the vivacity of Spirit Albarn.

While I am absolutely all about the hc of rain code being a post-Tragedy recovering world, and a believer of Yuma being some sort of naegiri child/descendant because i will take any opportunity to think about that ship and the end of rain code allows me to do so very easily.

But also for your consideration: cute idea where Kyoko is the one who is descended from Yuma, and the "reaper's footsteps" ability that the Kirigiri bloodline has is a manifestation of Shinigami generationally guiding Yuma's descendants because of her devotion to him. Kirigiri is a name that originates from an alias that Yuma takes up in reference to the solution blade he used in the labyrinth, and the homunculi have properly integrated into society. Not really feasible as a hc because the rain code technology would be too weird to justify being that far in the past, but would make for a fun alternate universe scenario.

IDK, since I've gotten back to my OG fandom (writing vise mainly) I had this urge to do an AU version of at least my main gal Avane for it. (Well her and one couple I have, bc one of those boys already has Bleach arrancar in their DNA lol)

She's not reallly meant to be in the canonical universe/timeline though, I don't really have the desire to place her anywhere in the main story. This'd probably either be an alternate verse, or sometime in the far future from the manga storyline. Also I ran outta motivation with the Shikai activation explanation, so its just a sketchy mess with no shading lmao

Random note: "Canonical" Ava is technically a Latina, or part Latina part European to be exact. Technically, because she doesn't actually have ANY ties to human world; its just that when she visits there, people basically see her as having that kind of background in the story. (I'm not good at showing ethnic features with my cartoony/comic-booky style yet to be fair, so its more in-story thing, rather than necessarily currently clearly visible from her design...OTL)

Also, I figured since in Bleach all shinigami seem to be Japanese, Ava would have to be, at least partially. I also gave her single-colored hair bc I noticed in the manga characters don't seem to have multicolored hair a whole lot? I still kept her iconic flowerbud hairbun, its kind of a central detail of her design.

Name: Barry Shinigami.

Age: 32.

Pronouns: He/Him.

Pokemon: A Gengar named Kiena, and a Ditto named Dirt.

Hometown: Lavender Town.

Occupation: Grounds Keeper/Grave Watcher in Lavender tower.

Story: This is an alternate universe version of the pokemon creepypasta character the Buryman from the Buried Alive Model story.

This takes place in the normal pokemon world.

Barry was kidnapped by some unknown people who wanted something from him an old family heirloom that was worth alot of money, he never got to see their faces due to being blind folded.

Eventually they got fed up and decided to teach him a lesson and if he wouldn't tell them he wasn't worth keeping alive, so they took him to the top of the pokemon tower where an empty grave was currently being prepared.

They proceeded to kick him in the grave and covered him up in dirt he tried to kick and scream but despite his attempts on trying to escape he had no luck and was burried deep in the dirt, and they left him to die.

He was left there for a few days only surviving due to a leak in the ceiling of the tower allowing rain water to drop in keeping him hydrated enough, the fear and the pain from being buried under so much dirt slowly ate away at him.

All he managed todo was get his hand out of the ground and he hoped and preyed someone would save him, and one afternoon the local nurse was visiting the tower at the second highest floor to pay respects to her own deceased pokemon.

When suddenly she saw some of the ghost pokemon in the tower trying to get her attention she was confused wondering what they could want but decided to follow them to the top floor, there she saw Barry's hand sticking out of the ground.

She panicked and quickly ran up checking his plus he was still alive but barely she quickly used a shovel and carefully undug him he was in a horrible state and was practically starving, she fully got him out of that grave and rushed him to the pokecenter doing what she could with the supplies they had on hand.

She made a few phone calls and he was taken to a proper hospital near by and over the course of a few months was finally nursed back to as best of health as they could get him, This incident however left him with scars on his body and on his mind not to mention left him permeantly paralyzed from the waist down from the intense pressure from the dirt. He also could only see out of one eye by this point as well.

He was soon allowed to return home but due to his mental state and the fact he lived alone they took him to a daycare where they had trained therapy pokemon, none of them really caught his eye that is untill a Gengar floated up to him and stuck out it's tongue.

The workers there apologized and tried to get the pokemon away from him but he soon spoke up for the first time since he had woke up saying that he wanted that one, they explained that she was a trouble maker and wasn't fit for service but he refused to pick any other one.

They eventually gave in and agreed to let him take her home after some paper work he was taken home, after the incident he decided to dedicate his life to being the groundskeeper for the tower despite the trauma he had there the ghosts had saved his life and he owed it to them to help take care of them.

Now he watches over the tower and hopes to one day to become a gym leader inside the tower, but is currently content with his current life with his emotional support Gengar he named Kiena and his later adopted ditto named dirt.

Extra Information:

Due to the incident he is now completely wheel chair bound but thanks to Kiena he's able to get around easily. He also speaks in a low raspy voice and often complains about being cold, and has a strange craving for fresh meat but genuinely is a kind man otherwise.

Despite Kiena being a Gengar who are known to be tricksters she remains pretty loyal to him and never pulls any pranks on him and seemingly genuinely loves him as her trainer but dosen't stop her from playing pranks on other people.

He adopted dirt a few weeks after he was sent home and he often just pets the goopy lil fellow sometimes, dirt transforms itself into a strange ghostly white hand but no one not even Barry knows why.
