As he hurried towards the cove, the silhouette sitting on the sand appeared clearer; naked waist up was the figure of a man, red hair aglow in the moonlight, pale skin that gave way to the start of the russet-coloured scales at the hips from where a long fishtail began.

Gyutaro Reader Insert AU Idea #2

Gyutaro AU: Merpeople/Sirens

Gyutaro would be an eldritch horror of a siren. I would say he’d weigh about two tons, despite being extremely boney. What he lacks in fat he makes up for in bone density and muscle. He’d be long and sinewy, probably close to the length of a school bus or two.

Despite his size, he’s as close to the perfect predator as they come. His long and flowy, yet severely damaged green fins allow him to disguise himself as kelp or pollution. He’s a master at the stalk and kill method of hunting, but even better at the wait and ambush. The only indication that you’d get that you’ve entered his territory is a pair of glowing, orange and red eyes stalking you from afar. And if you’ve seen those eyes, you’re as good as dead already. The best you can do for yourself is pray to whatever god you believe in to make it a fast and painless death.

He'd loathe humans, because they’d be the reason he would be one of the last of his kind. They’re the reason his sister was taken from him. In a world where sirens exist, it would be a no-brainer that humans would exploit the hell out of them like they do other sea life. Gyutaro is thin because his normal food sources have been decimated due to bycatch and overfishing. His body is in constant survival mode, and he’s had to struggle his way out of countless fishing nets over his near century of life. Said fishing nets are the reason why his once beautiful fins are full of holes and tears.

His main motivation is vengeance. He’ll rip apart any human he sees in the water. Ume won’t be avenged until the human race goes extinct.

There have been sightings of him, although it is very rare to capture a picture of him and live to tell the tale. As well as the camera that took the picture (there are quite a few polaroid cameras, phones, and other picture-taking devices he’s collected as trophies over the years). There’s even a surprisingly accurate oil-painting a sailor did of him half a century ago.

While siren hunting had been made illegal internationally, that doesn’t stop poachers from trying to hunt him down. He’s like the ultimate prize. The last siren. What most of them are unprepared for is just how unnaturally powerful and large he is for his kind. He can tear through a fiberglass hull like paper with his claws, which is exactly the kind of boats most poachers take into the open water to avoid getting caught by the coast guards, navies, or even the satellites.

Despite all of his horrifying characteristics and behaviors, he is said to have the most hauntingly beautiful call in the entire ocean. Not much is known about what siren calls mean, but it is most likely a song of grief. If you hear it, it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s near, as the sound waves can reach thousands of miles from its source. However, no matter where you are in proximity to him, his call will almost certainly bring even the toughest of men to tears. Nothing can match the decades of loneliness Gyutaro has had to endure.

How will the reader win the heart of this Gyutaro? What will they have to do to even survive two seconds next to him? Once again, that will be up to YOU for now.

Someone implanted a mermaid melody AU into my head. I really like mermaids so I will write some fun ideas down.

A few characters i have in mind are Ellie the South Pacific mermaid knight and Lance the Human(?)

A mermaid nicknamed Ellie works for the South Pacific Kingdom's military/defense, but is tired of that lifestyle. She wants to live a normal life without protecting a kingdom or princess so she escapes to the human world. She lands herself in California.

She becomes exposed to parties, bonfires, and other things. Many guys really like her pure and naive look. At a house party, she gets drenched from a drinking game and hides out in the bathroom trying to get it off her.

She was seen escaping by co-host Lance. Lance's younger brother Luke hosts the biggest parties of the area at their family house without their parents' permission. He often helps his younger brother clean up or do damage control at the parties.

Ellie is in Lance's bathroom when he walks in trying to give her a few towels and clothing. He sees her mermaid form, dropping the items in shock. Ellie tries to play it off and hide it, but it is already too late.

Lance and his brother Luke are actually disguised as humans. They are Arctic mermen in hiding with their mermaid mom who fell in love with her husband.

Mermen are not look at fondly by mermaids because of how unnatural they are. Mermaids marry each other, take care of each other in their kingdoms, and are born from the magical seashell.

Lance keeps his mouth shut about his identity and help Ellie blend in better. He lets her stay in the house as his pretend friend. He has to teach her many things.

The two of them actually hang out in the bathroom a lot. Ellie is used to bathing in her pod so she often feels lonely. Lance is uncomfortable with that type of thing since that was something he only did with his brother when they were kids. As a compromise, Lance keeps his beanie over his eyes while facing away to talk to her.

Ellie actually teaches Lance a lot about mermaid culture. The kingdom is just one big community made up of pods of mermaids who get along the best. Often times, pods have caretakers and the young.

Ellie's pod only had one caretaker and many young mermaids. She was one of the older ones who took care of those mermaids. That's why she was protecting the kingdom for so long. Her caretaker insisted that she did not need to do so even if there was honor behind it.

A lot of back and forth of misunderstandings. Lance is a mermen but Ellie does not know.

Hey everyone! My friend @javelin505 and I published the first chapter of our Sonic the Hedgehog Pirate AU fic a couple of days ago, so if you're interested, please go check it out.

A) It's a time travel in which WWX comes back in time and go to visit WQ to convince her that he is from future and both make a long term plan to eliminate all the "bad guys".

B) It's also a time travel, but this time WWX is found by the Wens and is raised with the heirs of WR. The scene I remember quite well is one in witch LWJ is fighting with one of the Wen heirs (don't remember who, not WQ or WN) and when the Wen is going to attack LWJ, he sees the red ribbon that WWX gifted to LWJ. This means that LWJ is WWX's love (and fiance maybe?) so the Wen decided not to attack LWJ and it's killed.

But everyone thought he was cursed to tell the truth, so when he says all kinds of horrible things to people they believe him thinking that he has been compelled to say what he really thinks of them. The curse is only broken after people realize he is lying (not truthing). Wei Wuxian then has a series of conversations with the various characters as he reassures them that he was lying and that he didn’t mean whatever he said. For fic finder: It was a canon-divergent or post-canon fic where someone reminds Wei Wuxian that the juniors grew up in a time of peace and so they don’t have war-instincts (like startle reflexes or ptsd from battle, and in general they are too trusting). I think the juniors too were warned that the older generation is more jumpy because of what they had been through when they were teens, and so they shouldn’t sneak up on Wei Wuxian. Harrington was with the kids again.

Billy wasn't sure when it had started, or why, but over the past few months he kept seeing Steve with his little sister and her gaggle of dweeb friends, including the uber dweeb, Princess El.

Billy thought it must be some attempt by Harrington to worm his way even further into the king's good graces. Not like he needed any help, coming from the family that he did; his dad was the king's brother. But Steve had always been a suck-up. And now he had this group of kids following him around, looking at him like he was some sort of god.

Billy was there to pick up Max, but he didn't swim directly over to the group. He took a moment to watch them from a distance, floating in the shadow of a large rock.

Steve laughed at something the curly-haired one with the weird tooth thing said. He watched as Steve and the kid engaged in some sort of complicated handshake. It was ridiculously dorky, and Billy wasn't sure why it made him want to smile. Max was laughing at them, happier than Billy had seen her in a long time. Neither of them laughed much under Neil's shadow.

Steve looked happy, too, his eyes bright in a way Billy didn't think he'd ever seen before. Steve's expressions during his interactions with Billy were typically limited to frowns, glares, or outright snarls. Even when he wasn't dealing with Billy, he never looked happy at school. Not like this. It made his whole face light up. For a moment, Billy could see why everyone at school thought Harrington was attractive.

Intrigued, Billy attempted to move a little closer, so he could hear what they were saying. His arm scraped against a mussel-covered rock as he moved. He wasn't able to stop the yelp he let out as the sharp mussels cut into his flesh, blood seeping out into the water around him.

The kids and Steve noticed. Billy tried to hide behind a rock, but he wasn't quick enough.

"Billy?" Steve called, catching sight of him behind the rock as he swam over. "Why are you skulking around behind the rocks? Are you bleeding?"

"I'm not skulking," Billy growled. "I was just coming to pick up Max, and I ran into some mussels."

"So you… hid?" Steve prodded. He crossed his arms over his chest, lifting his eyebrows. He was back to his usual bitchy scowl, the bright look gone from his face.

"Fuck off, Harrington. I'm not hiding." He wasn't going to give Steve any more excuses. He was done with this conversation. "MAX!" he yelled. "Come on, we can't be late again."

Max swam to Billy, waving to her friends. "Bye, Steve," she said, with a soft smile that Billy had never been privy to before. "Thanks for the help."

"What the fuck was he helping you with?" Billy demanded when he and Max were out of earshot.

Max glared at him. "None of your business, dickwad."

Billy's jaw tightened. Why was she so freaking nice to Steve, when she still treated him, her own brother, like shit? Billy batted her lightly on the back of her head. "Don't be an asshole."

"Takes one to know one," Max shot back, swimming further ahead of him. "He's helping me with obelisks," she called back eventually. "Since we can't afford the training camp."

They really should have been able to afford the training camp, but Neil kept blowing most of their bartering goods at the betting tables.

Billy pumped his tail hard to catch up with Max. When had she gotten so fast? "Why are you asking him to teach you? You know he's not as good as I am."

Max snorted. "It's not like you offered." Billy winced. It was true. He knew Max wanted to learn to play, and hadn't done anything about it.

Truth was, he found Max pretty fucking annoying. When he was around fourteen, Billy had reached a fragile sort of truce with Neil, learning how to handle his dad's temper. But when Susan and her red-headed pipsqueak moved in later that year, Billy became a punching bag again. Presumably as some sort of deranged coping mechanism to keep his dad from punching Susan or Max instead, but that didn't mean Billy had to like it.

So he didn't pay much attention to Max. He actively avoided her as much as he could, didn't like the resentment that bubbled up every time he was around her. But he was her brother. She should be looking at him like he was some sort of god, not at Steve fucking Harrington.

"I'll teach you," he finally said.

She looked over at him sharply, eyes narrowed in suspicion. "Is this some sort of a joke?"

"No," Billy huffed, annoyed that she wouldn't just take his offer. "I'll fucking teach you obelisks. I'm better at it than him. You should learn from the best."

Max rolled her eyes, but relaxed slightly. "Alright. I might as well cash in on this weird rivalry you two have."

So I'm going to have another TNT Duo ramble. Guys. Guys can we have more Siren/Mer stuff? I just rambled about this a little bit in the tntblr community thing but I wanted to share it more widespread for other people to see but like. There are eighteen (18) fics in the TNT Duo tag that are tagged Alternate Universe - Merpeople. Out of four thousand and fifty five (4055) fics. Guys. Guys it'd be funny. We should do mermay this year. We should have an explosion of activity in mermay. I'm going to try and write a big multichapter fic for mermay. Guys it'd be funny. We should do it. Just a bunch of TNT Duo oneshots and fanart.

Like. C'mon. With how often Siren is used as a nickname for Wilbur, with how water aligned that little bastard is. And Quackity. Like I love shrike Q but I know this fandom has him heavily associated with waterfowl birds. You could make him a seabird. It wouldn't be hard. There are so many options too.

Like. Put them out on the water. Make Q the siren sometimes because of the cannibal tendencies. Let him eat people sometimes. Or hell, serial killer/siren AU with Quackity feeding bodies to his siren boyfriend.

Or like. Little mermaid retellings. And Mako/H2O AUs.

Make them different types of fish! Do a funny haha and make Wilbur a salmon! Guys the joke is right there!

Like if I do a siren/mer Mermay event would y'all be into that? I think it might be fun.
