Character Profile - Thing T. Thing

"The Thing is often observed watching the family through the balustrades of the balcony over the living room. We don't know quite who or what he is, but, whatever, he's the soul of good nature - at least, he grins perpetually and may occasionally whimper." - Chas Addams

You may have noticed a weird little guy peeking at the family from odd places in some of the comics I’ve already posted in previous character profiles. It’s okay if you didn’t see him. He’s easy to miss. In case you missed him, I’ve circled him below:

That‘s the original Thing. Charles Addams created him as a silent observer of the family. He’s never fully visible, just poking out from the bars of the balcony or a closet, or mostly buried in the snow. He serves no purpose. He isn’t a butler like Lurch, or a helping hand like Thing was on TV. There’s one comic with a sign posted in front of the mansion reading “Beware of the Thing”, which may refer to him or may just be another silly thought Charles Addams had. Nevertheless, it was used in the 1960s sitcom.

There was a comic with some helping hands switching records while the family relaxed at home. This was probably the inspiration for the hand in a box that was Thing in the sitcom. He was in a dark, plain box in the pilot (and therefore the opening credits) and a more ornate box later on, as shown below.

It wasn’t initially made clear whether there was more to Thing than what the audience could see, perhaps in some metaphysical sense. We could see an arm as far as the elbow at times, but no more than that, and never a second arm. He almost always emerged from a box, but not always the same box. He could travel between boxes in all rooms of the house and out to the mailbox. He even came out of a safe, from behind curtains, and other odd places.

Thing’s full name is Thing Thing Thing, stated by Morticia in an episode of the sitcom. According to his Wikipedia page, he’s called "Mãozinha" (Little Hand) in Brazil, "Cosa" (Thing) in Spain, "Dedos" (Fingers) in Hispanic America, "Mano" (Hand) in Italy, "La Chose" (The Thing) in French speaking countries, "Eiskaltes Händchen" (Ice Cold Hand) in German, and "Rączka" (Small Hand) in Polish. My husband likes to say that his full English name is “Thing Tentertainment Thing”. I’m not sure if people younger than 30 will get that reference. Is Chuck E. Cheese still traumatizing America’s youth?

In the 60s, Thing was played by Ted Cassidy, who also played Lurch. I don’t know if they did this because he was 6’9” tall and that made his arms long enough to reach through the boxes. Some people have noted that his height made hiding his massive body more difficult when shooting those scenes. Then there were times when Lurch had to interact with Thing. In those cases, a crew member filled in. So presumably, anyone could have done it. But it was usually Cassidy. In the credits, it said that Thing was played by “Itself”.

No one ever explains Thing’s whole deal in the TV show, where the rest of him is, or how he does anything. He gets the mail, hands Gomez cigars and lights them, makes cocktails, helps Morticia with her knitting, and does so many other helpful things around the house. When the family goes to court, he goes along in Gomez’s briefcase. And in a flashback, there’s a portrait of his parents, a male hand and a female hand. So we can safely assume that he is just a hand. Of course, the effects in the 1960s didn’t exist to have a severed hand running around. They had to use the boxes because there was no alternative.

In the Hanna-Barbera cartoons, of course it was easy to just draw a severed hand out on its own. So once those came out, it was established that Thing is just a hand. Then in the 90s movies, the technology existed to make that become a reality in live action. In the musical, an actor pulls the curtain aside while obscuring the rest of their body, thereby “playing” Thing. Later on in the musical, Thing is a prop hand on a pillow. And if you’ve seen the behind the scenes footage from Netflix’s Wednesday, you’ve seen the amazing body work that Victor Dorobantu did, in addition to CGI, to bring Thing to life.

How does he see? How does he drive a car? There’s basically no explanation for any of that. In the 2019 3D animated film, sometimes there’s an eye on Thing’s wrist, but not all the time. In the 60s sitcom, Thing falls in love with a visiting woman’s handmaiden Lady Fingers. It’s clear to the audience that he’s taken aback by her beauty, so he can definitely see her. We’re just never told how. How he’s able to do anything is, according to 2022’s Wednesday Addams “an Addams family mystery.”

Is Thing a right hand or a left hand? It depends! Ted Cassidy almost always used his right hand, but would sometimes use his left “to see if anyone would notice.” In the Hanna-Barbera cartoons, it seems to have depended on whatever the animators felt like that day. It could change from right to left, even within the same episode. In the 90s movies, he was always a right hand. In the 3D movies, he’s a left hand. In Wednesday, he’s a right hand once more.

The most surprising thing about Thing isn’t that one severed hand can do so much; it’s that he manages to steal almost every scene he’s in. Must be that five-finger discount. I can’t wait to see him steal more scenes (and who knows what else) in season two of Wednesday some time in 2025.

Urbz Cut Dialogue [masterpost]

[NOTE: you might see Kiki's face often, but she's just a placeholder. All of these are from different Urbz.]

Darius' dialogues / an alternate beginning?

When using Debug Cheats in the Urbz: Sims in the City, there is an option to show all dialogues. This function mostly shows unused or unfinished dialogues. Which many are from Darius that shows the game might've had a different beginning.

Judging by these, it sounds like the game would've originally start in Darius' penthouse. Instead of will.i.am introducing you to Darius, Darius would've personally summoned you himself. The reason for this? Because he needs a "nobody" to take down a new crew that's been harassing people -- this crew likely being the villains, Kiki, Urango, and Harry. He makes a deal to give you the penthouse if you succeed, it seems he reminds you of this deal, too. So, it's very important to him.

I think this scrapped beginning explains the story better. As much as I love the Urbz, it really does feel like Darius is just helping a random person become famous out of the kindness of his heart. Him initially making the deal to get rid of the villains, it just makes more sense to me for a highly famous guy to help a stranger only if they're helping him.

Dialogues from Urbz

You know those missions where you're supposed to mug Urbz or take their pictures? The ones that are given to you by another Urb? Apparently the "targets" of these missions would've said something about it as well.

[NOTE: I don't really know if these are "unused" or not. However, I've played this game many times and I haven't been able to trigger them in normal gameplay -- even when I'm intentionally trying to.]

These are about the same mission from Fergie & Ally. It's harder to say which dialogue belongs to who. But I'm gonna assume it was Ally who called her hat a "dead pink rat" lol! There are more unused dialogues for most of the missions. But I'll just transcript them rather than showing the images to avoid hitting Tumblr's image limits. Plus, they all look the same (sometimes without Kiki's portrait tho) just different text.

"§500" seems like a specific number, so this could've possibly been a scrapped goal.

There's also something from the delivery guy that actually says "obsolete" lol. So, this might've been a cut scenario?

As well as these too. Except, I don't know if these don't appear in the game or if they do, I just don't recall. The "Hey kid, I'm heading over." sounds like it's possibly from Darius. I would assume it's a successful invite urb message, but the "see you at 6:00pm!" seems oddly specific. Therefore, it makes me think this is a cut scenario, too.

The "You lack the money" message I'm also uncertain about -- but I don't recall a moment where this would be valid unless it pops up if you try to gamble with no money? I've never tried that, so it could be the message for that event.

Scrapped tutorial messages that are never seen in the game.

There might be more scrapped dialogues. Sometimes when you run the "show all dialogues" cheat, different messages pop up. And there are also some dialogues that might not actually be in the game, but I'm very uncertain about -- so I'd have to see if I can trigger them or not. If I find any more scrapped Urbz dialogues in this game OR the Sims 2 prototype, I'll be sure to make a part 2! If some of these actually do appear in the game and I'm incorrect, I will also correct myself in a part 2!

Final statement: I really don't know why most of these were scrapped. The beginning makes the story slightly more complex, and the dialogues add a little more character to the Urbz we see. It could be that the developers were struggling to implement these (as this game went through development hell) or in the end, they just deemed them unnecessary.

After-all they don't need a new agent, especially one with a file so classified they can't see anything but the agent's name in it. But Strauss's orders are Strauss's orders. It would help if this Daisy would stop taking stupid risks and acting like she's bored. Of course Daisy really is bored and isn't exactly allowed to mention that after fighting aliens, Inhumans, and Hydra, dealing with regular serial killers is kind of low stakes.

Did the skeleton chandeliers in the snake chamber come with the house or did rykard commission them himself and when asked why it had to be human bones he went "no reason" to the work crew. Alternatively did he hang them up himself in snake form because he likes interior design

Wait do his chandeliers have human bones?? It doesn’t especially look like it to me… all I’m seeing are decorative snakelike elements. Maybe we’re thinking of different chandeliers? Anyway for these ones, your point still stands, as the chandeliers are decorated with actual cages. The very same cages he probably used to imprison both the victims of his inquisition and the victims that would become his snake snacks. Quite an… interesting decorative choice, but Rykard is nothing if not resourceful LOL

Anyway I think the chandeliers were added by Rykard because of those cages and the fact that it matches his highly decorative, swirly style of metalwork:

All of the metal creations associated with Rykard are beautifully designed, as is the interior of his manor. it can also be said that he has an appreciation for art because of all the paintings displayed on the manor’s walls… he seems to be someone who overall really cares about the decorative arts. Rykard also seems to be extremely vain, as he owns not one, but two portraits of himself, and in said portraits he’s totally blinged out with enormous rings on every finger. After snakifying himself, he’s added even MORE rings to his many fingers, so much so that they’re literally cutting off his circulation.

This is evidence to me that he’s somehow become even more vain as a snake, which tells me that it is 100% in the realm of possibility that he had enormous chandeliers made specifically to spice up the interior design of his nasty snake cave. man refused to give up on style even after becoming a horrifying monstrosity. mad respect

So....normally with these so far, I've doodled couple more portraits for the ref, and this was due to them all being brand new characters, meaning I needed more angles drawn about them to grasp how they look like properly.

HOWEVER, Ava is literally my most drawn character, being my main one for my OG story/world, so I decided I won't need to do that for her space AU version. The changes I did for Ava apart from her outfit are very minor, just normal human ears and different hair-color/human eyes. I did pick her an actual IRL surname too, as using her OG didn't really fit together with the rest, being a fantasy one.

Au Ava/this crew's major overarching story info below:

Ava is not just a researcher on a rescue-crew spaceship: she used to/still works with a group that was actively trying to expose the unethical experiments done to people like Stefan when he was a child, and find a way to cure them from the side-effects of these experiments.

They managed to complete their first goal, and currently she is focused on finding a cure for Stefan and other victims' "G.I.H.A-Syndrome" which stands for Gas Induced Hallucination Aggression Syndrome. or just GIHAS in short.

The name comes from their condition being triggered by the inhalation of a special type of gas that was discovered 40 years ago. It was found to be much safer alternative for a lot of systems especially with space industry, as it was seemingly non-toxic and not easily flammable. However, while this is not widely known, it can cause vivid hallucinations to some people, although what dictates this reaction is still unknown.

The victims/test subjects like Stefan were conditioned to it from early childhood, where it could potentially be used for mind control, for sleeper agent assassins. (Stefan is actually the only "Successful" test subject, as all others so far have lacked the aggression, or were uncontrollable/paralyzed by fear in their hallucinating state. Stefan in turn, naturally developed a "trigger" for his aggression, and can actually select his targets, rather than going after people mindlessly - most of the time)

For Ava this is personal, given her fiancee Roman is also one of these child test subjects. He is currently held at the special facility her parents manage, because his hallucinations might cause him to lash out, and he's become quite paranoid. (The condition can get bad enough that you won't need the gas anymore - just the trigger.)

Nadiya and her crew are helping her with the research, as their job often takes them into the most remote regions of space that could hold important and useful data for her. They also allow her to work on this in secret.

Ava was the one that convinced Nadiya to take Stefan in the ship, as she knew he was one of the GIHAS patients, AND she was one of the women in the previous ship he worked at, just in disguise. She was on an undercover mission to keep an eye on Stefan for the organization that experimented on him, as she was doing a double agent task. (She was also part of the team that raided the prison he was in, that was continuing these experiments, but Stefan fled before she could take him with rest of the patients to the facility where they are currently being held for their own safety, while cure is being searched)

She often goes on a side-mission with her android companion as part of her own research, whom she rescued years ago, and had a friend help repair for her (The android is gonna be the final member for this crew, I'll make them later)

IN REGARDS TO TULPAR CREW

Ava doesn't interact with them as much as the rest, but has some thoughts about each still:

CURLY: She sympathizes with the difficult situation he was in, after all she's seen first-hand, multiple times, what corporate greed does, how it can put people in impossible situations. She also understands the psychological hold his toxic, manipulative friend had on him. Ava is still critical of him of course, but she's too busy with her own mission to dwell in this that much. The threat is gone, the crew is going home with any medical needs being taken care of, that's all she needs to know.

ANYA: She of course feels sorry for her, and what she went through, and also admires how despite it all, Anya is still persisting, even helping Cherry with medical duties. She would not judge her of course even if she DID struggle to hold herself together, and would not want to continue her nurse duty anymore.

DAISUKE: He's quite amusing as Nadiya also puts it. His cheerfulness reminds her of some people at home that she knows of, and its funny seeing Stefan try not to look so annoyed when he has to listen to him and Mara babble about Pokemon....

SWANSEA: His grumpy old man energy is VERY funny to her, because it again reminds her of some people she knows. Specifically one of the dads of her frenemy Irina.

'Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies reveals that the series' new 60th-anniversary title sequence almost featured a moment involving David Tennant and Catherine Tate that was ultimately removed following a poor reception by the crew. Tennant and Tate returned to lead the milestone celebrations across three specials, as the Fourteenth Doctor and former companion Donna Noble cross paths once more. The 60th anniversary also saw Murray Gold return to compose the score, with the original revival composer arranging a new rendition of the Doctor Who iconic theme tune to go alongside a new title sequence.

In the BBC iPlayer commentary for Doctor Who's final 60th-anniversary special "The Giggle", Davies revealed that the series' new title sequence originally had an additional scene unlike what had been seen in previous sequences. Davies revealed that Tennant and Tate filmed a scene where the Doctor and Donna would peak outside of the TARDIS doors during its flight through the time vortex, with Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson's Fifteenth Doctor and Ruby Sunday also filming their own version for their debut, but a poor reception from the crew and former showrunner Steven Moffat would see the moment cut. Tennant: What happened there?

Davies: What do you think, Phil.

We shot a sequence in the middle of this in the title sequence where David and Catherine hang out of the TARDIS doors, which then we shot it for Ncuti and Millie as well. Hanging out of the TARDIS with all the time vortex going past... Literally, it was like a war of attrition.

Collinson: Everyone who watched it, hated it.

Davies: Everyone just…. I loved it!

Doctor Who's New Title Sequence Are A Visually Stunning Update To The Intro

Doctor Who's title sequence has seen drastic evolutions ever since the first episode aired in November 1963. Beginning with Bernard Lodge's quick manipulation of television monitor "Howlaround" feedback to create the vortex, the classic series' titles would be colorized, have lead actor's portraits incorporated, and feature starfields and galaxies, drastically changing across each Doctor's era. The modern title sequence also evolved when the show returned in 2005, alternating between the TARDIS flying through various stylized vortexes across Christopher Eccleston, Tennant, and Matt Smith's eras, traveling through cogs and clocks throughout Peter Capaldi's era, and returning to visuals inspired by the original 1960s titles for Jodie Whittaker.

As such, Tennant's 60th-anniversary titles are a further evolution of Doctor Who's iconic sequence, as the TARDIS' new journey through a reimagined time vortex features colossal sweeping dimensions at a varied range of angles. While the sequence's more cinematic approach is a visual treat, the titles follow similar beats to the titles used throughout Davies' initial tenure, with the TARDIS traveling through one vortex, leaping into real space, and entering another vortex as the logo appears. As such, Doctor Who's latest title sequence is a surprising update.

While Doctor Who's new title sequence is an impressive rendition of the series' iconic opening, many viewers may be left wondering what the 60th-anniversaries' scrapped titles may have looked like. With Tennant and Tate and ultimately Gatwa and Gibson peering outside of the TARDIS, perhaps VFX renders could not do justice to capturing the TARDIS team's cameo throughout the vessel's flight. However, with Davies confirming Gatwa and Gibson filmed their own scene, the showrunner has seemingly confirmed that the incoming team will use the 60th-anniversary sequence in Doctor Who season 14 and beyond.'

Museum AU!

Art Handler! Riri Williams is a part of the crew tasked to install the new, "Wakanda Forever" exhibit at [X Museum]. However over the course of the week, Riri starts to notice something strange about one of the portraits. This interest turns into obsession as the princess featured in the portrait starts to appear in her dreams, her untold story unfolding for Riri with each passing night. Soon enough the true nature of the Princess's curse is revealed--she has been trapped inside the painting. The threat of the curse becoming permanent looms over the pair as the exhibition's opening approaches and those keeping Shuri trapped clue in to her attempts to escape.

I’d love to hear a detail ✨ about the The Great Bucky Bake Off

I'm so happy to share even more about this blessed lovely project! it has me so stoked about the work that's going into it!

One of the things that's going to be a thing - it's gotta be a thing - is a cast of solid secondary characters! 12 bakers, 2 hosts, 2 judges, there will be production crew, staff at the estate where they're staying, family and friends of at least our main pair (you and Bucky)...

I've been working on "casting" those 12 bakers though. GBBO has kind of it's staple 5-6 humans it's going to look to cast in every series, right? And then the other 5-6 are the more unique personalities/finds. They're always going to have one long-haired single brunette. They're going to have no more than two older women. There will be a really young baker. If they get an application from anyone who routinely does "alternative" baking (gluten-free, vegan) and is at all decent at it, the most eccentric personalities who have skills that are at least good enough to get into the tent, etc.

The story is about you and Bucky falling in love, but in this sphere, everyone around you is also going to be part of that experience on different levels and be important for your and Bucky's individual journeys on the competition.

With this, I'm developing an older female character who is one of their fellow bakers who going to be late 50s/early 60s and show us a healthy and accurate portrait of The Crone. She will have her playful eccentricities, as well, but there's such a lack of representation for strong, mature-in-age, female figures in media and these types of women are undervalued and not recognized even for their full potential in most cultures in society, period. I'm an elder millennial and seeing how women are socialized to fear aging and that they're just heading towards being obsolete because PATRIARCHY.

Okay, I'm not going to go off on the rant about it, but I'll just leave it to say that I'm hoping to write with this particular character a woman who embodies what a Crone/Wise Woman can be and the vital role she plays in her circle of influence.

(The Crone is the third stage/archetype in the female life cycle - coming after The Maiden and The Mother. I plan to have one of each who specifically embody their archetype.)

Anyway, the Crone will be important to Reader and Bucky and she'll make it quite far in the competition, but I won't say exactly how far. But she'll at least make it to the second half of the series.

Our viewpoint shifts to a military base in an unknown location. A young girl, Tiffa Adil, speaks up.

Her prediction immediately comes true, as a large explosion occurs right outside the base. And out of said explosion...

The two Excellence units appear.

Rakan Dakahran, the serious-looking man, is startled by the loud noise, assuming it's an attack by the "Frieden crew", whoever that's in reference to. He only becomes more confused as he catches sight of the Excellence units. Raul groans in pain in the cockpit as he loses consciousness...

Astonished at his own survival, Raul slowly comes to.

And he is greeted by... Amuro with a different portrait!? Raul weakly calls him by his name in shock, but Amuro has to apologize; apparently Raj and Mizuho also recognized him, but he has no memory of them. Where exactly have they met? Raul pays this no mind, as he's more confused as to where they are. Surely this isn't the Ra Cailum?

Confused at Raul's assumption, Amuro clarifies that they're at one of the Alternative Company's laboratories. He says the trio's mobile weapons crash landed in the garden outside, and everyone worked themselves into a frenzy assuming it was an enemy attack. The mention of the Excellence units immediately reminds Raj; that's right, are Raj and Mizuho alright!?

And that's exactly when they arrive, alongside Rakan. Mizuho asks if he's alright, and Raul asks the question right back at them, especially after seeing Raj's complexion.

Raj: "I'm alright... last night's meal was just a little, uh, small."

Raj is trying to sugarcoat things, but it seems the truth is that he and Mizuho have upset Rakan, who's apparently in charge around these parts. He'll arrange for the supplies and parts they need to repair their machines, so long as they give up their "are we ever gonna be allowed to leave?" line of questioning.

This angers Amuro, who's likely in a similar situation to us. Does he think people, earthnoids and spacenoids alike, will fall in line under a regime capable of doing such things? Rakan isn't bothered by Amuro's rhetoric, though. No one needs to fall in line under him; that's for Haman and Lady Mineva to worry about.

Later, once they get themselves some alone time, Raul tries to get his bearings with Raj and Mizuho. Where are they, exactly? The moon? A colony?

Mizuho tells him it's the Earth, which grants Raul a sigh of relief. If we're on Earth and it doesn't look like an episode of King Gainer, that must mean they stopped Axis!

Raj: "...I don't know about that."

Raul doesn't know what he means by that, but Raj interrupts him; he wants Raul to settle down and listen.

See, Raul's lucky; Raj was the first to wake up, and he thought he was going insane. Mizuho didn't believe it at first, either. She pops the question;

Mizuho: "What year is it?" Raul: "...Space Century 141."

"No, it's Space Century 136. Five years earlier from when we fought Char."

"We've time traveled to the Earth from 5 years ago!"

preshow hangout q+a! london 28 sept

I was at the show again tonight (I got to go on friday too!) and it was sooo good! I also got to go to the pre show hangout, so here’s some highlights from the q+a - putting under the cut as it’s v long and maybe a little spoilerish so....

- dan had lots of people he knows coming to the show tonight and was trying not to think about how how much ‘adult content’ there is and how they might react

- he had to remove some grandma jokes from the cardiff show because of the queen's funeral

- what disney prince would he bang? Immediate answer was the beast, then he clarified he meant in human form, then switched to aladdin

- people have mocked him for the fact that all he has in his rider is red bull, water and a banana (he reassured us this was not for sexual purposes)

- his feet smell like soap, but apparently americans have told him that's weird because everyone uses shower gel these days and soap is for medievel peasants

- he used to know how to do the dance to lucifer by shinee, and they're his number one all time group

- he thanked the person who wrote 'piss' on their piece of paper for bringing that over from instagram q+a’s

- the box where people post questions which is labelled ‘dan’s hole’ is now being referred to as ‘dan's slit’ because it’s a slot not a round hole

- the crew named the box dan's hole without consulting him and he's worried about getting it through customs to america

- the vip bags are meant to be an end of the world survival kit and you can use the bracelet as a weapon to fire at people's eyes and blind them

- there's lots of journalists coming to review the show tonight and Dan is worried they are all going to be bald white old heterosexual men and will think he’s just a woke child, but apparently if he wears nail varnish they'll suddenly realise he's gay and then whatever he says will be fine

- he said several times that we all have to make sure we cheer and look like we're enjoying the show so that the journalists will give him a good review

- his least favourite one direction solo music is liam payne’s

- the same person who asked that also asked for 'thoughts on’ daddy marx aka karl' and dan’s response was icon, legend, slay

- if phil were turned into a houseplant, dan wouldn't water him as he wouldn't deserve it because of how many plants he's killed

- dan thinks phil will live in filth for two months while he tours america and then do a panic clean 2 days before he gets back

- the person who asked them for a threesome was.....your mum

- corgi might win over shibe in the 'get a dog' discussion because shibes are apparently not very emotionally available

- someone said get one of each and Dan said he doesn't want to come home from tour and find two dog skeletons, so maybe that's a 2023 thing (!!)

- he’s clueless about wine and never knows what to say when people ask him what his favourite red wine is

- phil only likes alcohol that tastes like ribena, and likes a nice gay rosé

- fave alcoholic drink - he said he's a gin girl because gin makes you cry and he's crying all the time on the inside so he's drawn to it on an emotional level

- someone asked how it felt to have turned an entire generation queer, and he laughed and apologised

- 'would you rather turn into sonic, godzilla or megamind every time you’re aroused?' dan’s response was sonic because whatever you're going to do, you can do it fast ‘time is money - spin on that, bitch!’

Alright. That's the characters. Unsure if you can really piece together the plot from just that; so let's go all over it. We are first introduced to the Hutters - Thomas and Ellen. Then, we see Knock, a house agent, who receives a letter from Orlok and gives Hutter the job of selling a house (a decrepit house just opposite from Hutter's!) to him. Hutter goes, on the way, he is warned against going to the castle; proceeds anyway. In the castle he is met by Orlok. Hutter cuts his finger, Orlok sucks blood from him. Next morning Hutter blames the two bite marks on his neck on mosquitoes and writes a letter to Ellen. Next night, Orlok sees Ellen's portrait, goes 😦 (his face is permalocked in that expression for the rest of the movie), buys the house. When Hutter goes to bed, Orlok tried to suck him dry but is prevented from doing so by Ellen. Next morning, Hutter gets out of the castle, finds a coffin with Orlok, goes back to the castle, gets locked in the castle, sees Orlok leave for Wisborg and tries to get out through the window and nearly falls to his death. Meanwhile, Knock's all fucked up and gets put in the ward. Orlok departs on a ship, in a coffin. Ellen recieves the letter - she is disstressed. Hutter, despite having fallen on his ass quite painfully, gets up and departs too. Time passes, the ship sails. Hutter approaches. Knock steals a newspaper and reads about the Plague spreading. He laughs. We see the ship - one of the crew members is sick. He hallucinates - he sees Orlok. Time passes. The ship sails. Hutter approaches. Time passes… A lot of time, now, the crew is dead - the last two, the captain and the first mate are left. Mate goes and tries to break the coffins - sees rats, gets scared by Orlok, falls overboard. The captain ties himself to the helm. Last we see of the ship - for now - is Orlok approaching him. Time passes… It's almost time. We see a carriage. It's Hutter. Ellen can sense it too - she sleepwalks. Wind blows through her hair, she stretches out her hands towards the sea. We see a ship. Waves. Ellen is held back from the window - she turns back. "I need to go to him. He is near!" She's back in the house. The carriage has arrived - it stops. We see the ship - again. Waves, again… Ellen Runs out of her house. Ship. Knock drags a chair to the window and looks out. The ship is arriving. Knock sees it. Wind blows through his hair, he grips onto the bars of his cell. He turns back from the window. "The master is near… The master is near!!!" He's back in the cell - sits down on his bed. The ship has arrived - it stops. Orlok exits it. A warden enters - Knock strangles him. Knock runs out of the house. Parallels, eh? And, finally. Orlok carries his coffin - to his home. Hutter runs back - to his home. To Ellen. We alternate between the two. Hutter reaches Ellen - Orlok sees the light of Hutter's house. Orlok arrives in the opposite house.
