once time I got toooooo high so I asked my good trustworthy friend tumblr user destielgaysex to watch something with me to soothe my psyche. so he put on season 5 episode 14 of the hit show Supernatural, titled My Bloody Valentine, of which the cold open depicts two good christian heterosexuals on a good christian heterosexual date where they start kissing and then start biting each other and then tearing each other's flesh off with their teeth and eating each other alive. the emotion I felt in that moment was indescribable. I was staring at my screen like this

oh ok heres a mildly warm take but not really i hate the ‘owca animals are therapy animals for the badguys’ meme theory. partly because it’s just not consistent with how owca is in the show, at all, it’s explicitly a shitty and exploitative military organization, god knows theyre not offering any therapy to their own paramilitary agents who occasionally die on the job and could really use it lol. but also it’s another way of reducing perry’s character, taking the realworld concept of a ‘therapy animal’ who’s basically there for you to pet and hug and grafting it onto a complex fully fledged-out guy if perry is therapeutic to heinz it’s as his equal, as his best friend and someone to talk to, that he’s an animal is inconsequential to this (because he’s definitely not letting heinz cuddle him haha. unless?) and it’s by perry’s choice, we see how his choices to spend time with doof and help him are explicitly outside of the role assigned to him by owca. but perry CAN be a ‘therapy animal’ to the flynn-fletchers, i love this for him and phineas specifically, because he’s forced to be a realistic pet there.
